back with us again today to talk some Cardinal Baseball. Thomas
We're getting close to opening day.
Are you feeling it?
You excited?
Absolutely.
I love it.
It's a good time to be a baseball fan in general,
especially Cardinals fans.
There's some optimism out there.
Yeah.
And enough of the, you know,
discussing of who's going to do what and where and stuff.
Obviously, we're going to talk about things a little bit,
but we've got a roster, man.
It's pretty much set and ready to rock.
We're going to talk about the boys playing in Memphis last night
against the Redbirds, a 26-man roster.
set. No crazy injuries or anything weird has happened. So this was perhaps the first time that we got
a glimpse of what like a normal everyday lineup would be because, you know, in spring training,
there's got guys all over the place or split squads. There's guys doing sidework and whatnot.
But last night, we got to see a lineup of what it could look like on opening day when they
face a right-handed pitcher against Memphis's starting right-handed pitcher. Ian Bedell had him on
the mound front of the show. So let's take a look at what Ali went with. And we'll be getting the
leadoff spot where he went with it. I actually got this graphic here. There we go. It's going to
cover our faces on YouTube, but that's okay. We're fine with that. The lead off spot went over to
left fielder Lars Neupar who had an outstanding spring. OBP of 446. There had been a lot of
discussion on who should be the leadoff hitter for this team. And seeing Lars there probably made a lot
of people happy. Wilson Contreras was next, hitting over 400 this spring. Bold prediction,
by the way, Thomas. I made this during our NL Central preview show that aired yesterday,
that he'll be an all-star first baseman this year and the best offensive first baseman
in the NL Central, in the division. What do you think about that? I love it. Yeah, that's great.
The first base competition is not too deep in the NL Central. Yeah. But he's, he has every ability
to be that good offensively. Brennan Donovan was third, followed by Aronado, who hit a three
run dinger last night. Alec Berlison was deaching in fifth, a guy who could really open up some
eyes with his bat this year. Yvonne Herrera was catching a batting sixth. Jordan Walker and
right field batting seven, Victor Scott the second, who basically took the center field job away
from Michael Ciani and Lars Neupar and away was batting eighth. And then last year's leadoff,
man, Mason, win was at shortstop and hitting ninth. Now, Thomas, I don't feel like you're going to
make much of an argument about this lineup because now we can't confirm or deny this. But
that Olly might have stolen this straight from your desktop, Thomas, right or wrong?
Tell me about that.
Yeah, that's accurate.
So yesterday I got up early, about 430.
I worked out in the morning and I was sitting downstairs in the basement.
I was thinking, let's post a Cardinals lineup.
Why not?
What else do I have to do?
So I have the timestamp, 458, March 24th.
I posted essentially the exact same lineup except I swapped in Gorman instead of Burleson for DH.
I put in the comments later that either of them could fill that role for me.
So there's a chance that Ali Maul is reading my tweets.
If that's the case, I hope he only picks like 5% of them because I don't know if I'd trust myself too much.
Yeah, but it was a smart lineup that made a lot of sense.
I had put something out on Sunday night as far as lineups after we found out about all the different moves that they made for the roster,
where I wasn't sure whether or not they were going to keep Mason at the top or not.
So in mine, I had Mason leading off.
And then I had Lars, Willie.
I had Burleson in the cleanup spot instead of Donovan in this situation.
So that was flip-flopped on mine.
But then Aronado and then the Donovan spot, which is where Burley was.
And then Herrera Walker, Victor Scott.
And then against lefties, basically all I did was switch out because there's so many lefties on the roster that you don't really want to remove from the lineup in the first place.
So essentially, I just put Lucan Baker in a DH when they were going to face a left-hander.
Is that sound like the same idea would be for you if they switch things up and start a lefty against the Cardinals?
Yeah, I think so.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ollie puts Von Herrera at DH against a lefty and then Paix beyond the plate.
That limits him as far as catch your defensive flexibility if Paes gets hurt.
But just to keep Herrera's bad in there and get Paix however many innings they want to give him.
I love this lineup.
I think that having Walker, Scott, and wind down at the bottom is a much better
7-8-9 than we had last year.
Wing is a good reset going from 9 to 1 in the lineup when it looks back around like that.
You get Brendan Donovan's on base before you get some heavy hitters like Arnato and Gorman
in there at Berluson.
I love this lineup personally.
Yeah.
And one of the things that you'll hear people say is now that there's a DH, you know,
there's not that, you know, nine spot for the pitcher.
So with Wynn down at the bottom, he's essentially, again, like another leadoff hitter.
And then Victor's right ahead of him.
You know, the train just keeps going.
So that's the idea here.
A lot of right left, right left, right left, which makes a lot of sense.
I'm a big fan of that.
I always have been because it makes things very, very difficult for opposing managers,
latent games to get their pitching matchups that they want,
especially with that three hitter rule that they got to do, you know,
no longer to have those, you know, lefty specialists or whatnot.
You got to figure out a way to get all of them out.
So, yeah, the lineup, you know, like I say, on paper, it shouldn't be that bad, you know.
These guys got to live up to expectations is really the issue here.
You've got to get the production out of the guys like Jordan Walker.
And when Nolan Gorman is in there or Alec Burleson's in there, you got to get the production
out of them.
We can't have what Mason Wynn has done this spring,
be the guy that we see the rest of the year.
I don't think people are freaking out about it as much
after seeing that he had almost identical numbers last year.
It wasn't a great spring for Mason last year either.
So we're going to discuss the decision, though,
about the bench to keep Michael Siani and Victor Scott on this roster.
Plus, we'll give some love to the pitching staff.
We'll break it down with Thomas Gavain from Redbird Rance.com.

We've got the great Thomas Cobain from Redwoodrance.com with us here today.
Let's talk about the bench spots, buddy.
The big one, because in the end, you know, someone was going to get screwed out of an opening
day roster spot. And I just assumed it was going to come down to whether it was going to be
Victor Scott or it was going to be Michael Siani. And instead, the guy who actually kind of got the
rug pulled out from under him was Jose Fermin, who was sent to Memphis along with Jose
Barrero, who at one point also looked like he might have burned a spot on this roster as well.
Instead, they keep Scott and Siani to go along with Pahas, Luke and Baker and whomever is not going
to be deaching that day, whether it's Gorman, whether it's Broson, as their other bench guys.
Last night they had Gorman, Pahez, Baker, and Siani on the Pine.
Your thoughts on the decision about keeping both Scott and Siani,
because not a lot of people saw that coming.
I think for most teams, that would make sense.
Siani is a wonderful fourth outfielder.
He can come in as a defensive replacement.
He's got great speed.
I know that Siani and Scott are similar players.
Scott's offensive ceiling is probably higher.
Siani's defensive ceiling is a little bit higher,
but he's a great fourth outfielder.
the issue is that he's now taking time from Gorman or Burleson and as you mentioned, Jose
Formin, who would have been a nice backup utility guy.
Yeah.
And what it really kind of says is that they're going to trust, first off, Mason Wend,
to be every day.
Or Donovan never, ever, ever gets a day off is really what we're looking at here because
he's the guy that's going to be filling in as your backup shortstop.
He's obviously going to be playing second base a lot, which,
I was a big fan of because I think the better defensive endfield is Donovan win.
I don't think, you know, no offense to Gorman, but Brennan Donovan's a better defender on the infield.
It just is what it is.
Donovan's also going to see time in left field, obviously, too.
So Brennan Donovan, I hope he's eating his weedies because it's going to be an exhausting season for him.
And I'm sure, Ali, we'll try to find some spots for him to get some days off here and there when he can.
but he's going to be a guy that is going to be huge.
So somebody they can't really afford to lose.
There was plenty of discussion on what the best rotation for the team would be to open up the season.
Most of that discussion was between moving either Stephen Mats or Michael McGrievey to the bullpen.
But then the Cardinals made the, I'm going to go ahead and say a shrewd move by just saying, you know what, screw it.
Matthew Litterre, it's your time.
You're a full-time starting pitcher.
we're going to put you in the rotation.
Matt goes to the bullpen where I and you have been saying that's probably where he
belongs so that you can watch one of the younger arms get that rotation spot.
And then McGravey, unfortunately for him, has to start in Memphis.
I kind of called it a little bit of a dilemma because all of their pitches are healthy right now,
which never ever happens.
It never stays that way.
So I do want to remind people that things can change from what happens on the opening day
roster. But they've also mentioned that when the schedule gets a little bit long in the tooth,
a little weary in mid-April with Lestays Off, they plan on implementing that six-band
rotation that they've discussed with Matt starting when needed. What were your thoughts on,
first off, this whole plan? And did you see this Libertory thing actually happening?
Not at the beginning of the off-season. I think the last couple weeks or so, we started hearing
some whispers about Libby getting starts. He started his last game in spring training. He got up to
70 pitches. I think at that point, I really started thinking, okay, they might do this with Libby.
It makes a lot of sense when you look at him versus McGreevy as far as seeing what they can do this year.
Libby's already gotten two years under his belt. He's getting close to arbitration.
McGreevy has not even started his clock yet. So if they want to see what they have for 2026 and
27 out of Libertor as a starter now is the time to do it.
McGreevy will come back up.
He'll find his time.
Someone will get hurt.
He'll fill in that spot nicely.
But to see what they get out of Libby, now is the time to do it.
And like he said at some point in the off season, he can go back to being a reliever.
It's easier to go back to two innings than it is to ramp up to five or six.
I didn't expect it, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes.
It stinks for McGreevy.
Matt's is fine in the bullpen.
I'm okay with it.
But it's a shrewd decision in my mind now that I think about it.
Yeah.
And it just kind of what caught me off guard is that like the only time where Libertor started a game in spring training where it was like, you know,
hey, you're getting the ball today to start.
What was at the end?
You know, that was his only start.
Every time you'd come in was as a relief appearance, which is why I never really thought this was something that they were going to start with to begin the season.
He'd been so good in the bullpins.
specifically over the final two months of last season,
where he became a weapon back there.
You know, it was kind of nice to see Jojo and Liberator and Fernandez.
Of course, he had Kitchardtage last year, too.
And then, of course, Halsley doing his thing.
So I've said it before where I'm like,
when you see somebody being so good at something and then to switch it,
is I'm always like, oh, boy, oh boy.
The other thing that makes me a little nervous,
and I'll get your take on this.
What is the proper amount of runway for Matthew Libert's
as a starter?
Because what if these, let's say, five starts in,
and this ain't working out so well.
Do they need to keep rolling with it?
Because the big issue with Libertore,
it's very good against lefties,
but he's had trouble getting Ritees out.
And guess what?
If you're a starter, they're just going to put all righties
in the lineup against you,
which is going to make a job very difficult.
the Cardinals in the past,
you're out, a couple of starts and,
okay, this isn't working, and they move on from you.
They say they're not going to do it this year,
but what do you think is a proper runway for keeping Libby in the rotation?
I think you give him 10 starts, get him through May,
see how he's feeling, see how he's looking.
If there's clear splits, I think you need to move him to the bullpen.
Like, if he's just not handling right-handed batters,
you put him in the bullpen, you call it McGreevy,
if they're going to go through that six-man rotation still at that point,
you've got Matt's Amagrevy there.
I've given good 10 starts, let him get acclimated, get his feel for it,
and then decide from there.
I wouldn't be surprised if they just let him ride out through the All-Star break
and see what happens at that point, too, though.
Hopefully he's good enough and his story is sticking out.
They seem pretty confident in any of the quotes and stuff I've heard that he says
that he's figured out some things of how to do better against the Ritees,
which obviously he's going to have to do.
if you're going to be a starter.
Speaking of the bullpen, the rest of that was pretty easy to set up.
We kind of knew what was coming there after the signing of Phil Maton.
You got Hellsley as your closer.
Jojo and Fernandez are your setup guys.
Then you got Mayton, John King, Kyle Leahy, Chris Roycroft.
And then Matt is your long relief guide.
Any thoughts on something you might have done differently or thought might have looked
differently than what they actually have?
No, that makes a lot of sense.
I think Roycroft and Leahy surprised me a little bit.
I know they pitched fine last year.
I just didn't expect them to reach the levels they did this spring.
Lord knows what's going on with Riley O'Brien at this point.
He's barely pitched in the spring.
All here is wicked stuff.
Just can't trust him.
He's the only other guy I would have seen at the beginning of the offseason to give it a good run.
Gordon Grosseffo, I thought at one point would be a good reliever,
but I'm glad they're keeping him as a starter.
Stay a starter until he can't is my mind with prospects.
but I'm happy, content, expected this rotation,
this bullpen to come out this way.
Now, if I throw this at you, and I know this is not going to happen,
but I want to throw this at you,
is this bullpen better if I had done this to you?
All right, Halsley, Romero, Fernandez, Mayton, Leahy, Roycroft,
that's fine.
And then I give you Liberator in John King,
and then have McGreevy in your starting
rotation. Actually, keep Mats in there and then like John King is gone. What if I took him out of
the equation here and it was Lillivian Matt's both there with McGreevy starting in your rotation.
Would that have been something you would have liked to see? That's interesting. I don't know.
I think there would have been a lot of gripes about the organization playing the money over the talent,
like the Mats versus John King argument. That's really what that comes down to. So Libby versus
McGreevy and the Mats versus King argument. That's interesting. I'm not sure. I think.
I think I'd prefer Libby starting in the rotation over McGreevy right now and having
McGreevy be your safety valve.
I was just saying because, you know, we discussed where we're like, you can't,
you're not going to put four lefties out there.
So if one of them had to go, I mean, what do we owe John King?
Really?
I mean, he's, he was good.
He hasn't done anything wrong.
And he's that really good, you know, ground ball guy, double play guy that they bring in.
And I know why he's got a role and stuff like that.
I was just throwing it out there.
I was like, what if just that was a way to sneak creepy onto the roster.
They mentioned, you know, having depth at AAA as well is a problem with the injuries to Zach Thompson and to Drew Rom.
So that, you know, the grieving being down there, it's not a bad thing.
And I know we wanted to see him up here.
I know he had great numbers in the spring.
He was good last year.
He's going to be up eventually, guys.
It's not like he's not going to have a role on this team at some point.
So I keep putting that in people's minds like, remember, this is just to start the season.
There is a long way to go through.
this where things are going to change.
And, you know, they, they set themselves up nicely, you know, the, the problem is they've
got too many veteran pitchers that are healthy right now.
That's a good problem to have when at the beginning of the season, because not everybody
is getting as lucky as the Cardinals have so far.
Do you see any weak spots in this bullpen at all?
You mentioned Roy Croft.
You mentioned Leahy, who clearly earned spy.
They didn't give up a freaking run in the spring.
So it's hard to bitch and moat about them.
But do you see any weak spot in there at all that you're like, well, this could be an issue?
I think lefty setup and Jojo Romero makes me a little bit nervous.
He kind of faded towards the end of the year last year.
Outside of that, I'm not overly worried about the bullpen.
I like the addition of Phil Meaton quite a bit.
He can be stretched out a little bit, get you a 1.2, two innings, something like that.
If you need it to, he's a veteran.
He's got the experience there.
I love the hells leave back.
I think Ryan Fernandez can really take off this year, too.
lefty setup with Joe Romero is probably my only hesitation.
But outside of that, honestly, bullpens are such a crap shoot anyway.
You could give any group of eight guys out there, and I'd probably say the same thing.
But I like this group.
I think it has a nice ceiling.
Yeah, I think it's strong.
And I think Ali used them well last year.
I think he's got a good feel for how to maneuver things.
And so I got faith.
If there's one thing that I don't think a lot of people can complain about when it comes to Ali,
if there are still people out there angry at him, I'm sure there are.
but he was pretty good with the bullpen last year.
And they got one of the better ones in the league and losing Kittridge and replacing him with Maiton,
just made a lot of sense.
So news and notes coming up.
We're going to talk about Sunny Gray.
Apparently Sunny Gray has been dealing with an illness.
Nobody really knew about this.
Mo laid it on us yesterday.
So we'll talk about that.
We'll also talk about where J.G. Weatherholt's going to begin the season.
And we're going to have a little fun with some baseball movies.
movies to get you in the mood for the upcoming season.
All of this coming up on Locked on Cardinals.
March Madness is here,
and Fandul is giving you the chance to get in on the action like never before,
because right now new customers can get $200, $200 in bonus bets
when your first $5 bet wins.
That's $200 for you to use on everything from the buzzer beaters to Cinderella stories
and even who's going to end up cutting down the nets at the end of things.
I got a little nervous.
I have Florida winning all of my brackets that I filled out because I hate it when I'm like rooting for way too many people.
So I was like Florida is my team this year.
That's who I'm going with to win in the end.
And so they made it tough against Yukon, but we're able to get it done.
But obviously one of my other favorite things to do is pick on underdogs and watch those teams pull off the upsets and take down those big schools.
And Fandall makes it easy to back those Cinderella stories and underdogs with spreads, total.
and game props. If you filled out a bracket or brackets, that's great. But what about actually something
going on in the game that you're watching at that particular time? You can do that, which makes the
game is even more fun to watch when you use Fandole. What tournament games happening almost every day,

Carlos, your first listen today for your second listen, make sure you go find locked on fantasy baseball.

So you are prepared when your draft begins.
Sunny Gray had a terrible spring.
Thomas, a lot of hits, a lot of home runs hit against him.
and we found out through Mo yesterday that he had been sick recently.
The quote was the last couple of starts have not gone as planned.
I also don't think he was feeling all that great, especially the last one.
According to Derek Gould, symptoms worsened in the day since.
And the right-hander was actually away from the team as recovered.
Gray did not travel to Memphis.
He wasn't there.
There was footage of him at the ballpark.
I Bush Stadium, though, working out in the outfield, doing some throwing.
but no indications that he's going to miss his start on Thursday against his
former team, the twins.
I'm hoping for, because it always happens to the Cardinals.
I'm hoping the Cardinals do it to Minnesota where you get that revenge game.
No, I'm talking about.
Somebody always shows up that the Cardinals have had before and they just tee off like Paul
the Young did it multiple times in the spring.
Paul the Young revenge games.
Hopefully we get a Sunny Gray revenge game against the twins.
But your thoughts on Sunny Gray's brutal spring and how is your faith
in him going into Thursday.
You know, I too had the flu, and that's why my velocity dropped on my pitches the last
couple weeks as well.
So I'm just glad that Sonny's in the same boat as me.
I'm not, if it's just the flu, I'm not worried.
What does give me a little bit concerned would be the pain-killing injection he had
towards the beginning of the offseason.
I don't know.
He's 35.
Like, he's going to have his injuries.
There was a, I'm in a group chat with some other writers from Redwood Rance.
And one of one of the writers mentioned in Adam,
Wainwright comparison from, was it 2023, where he had all those like preseason injuries and
injections and workouts, yeah. And that gave me a little bit of pause as well.
Yeah. Sunny seems to be fine and in his regular routine now at this point. So I'm not too,
too worried about all that. Moe even said something brought up Wainwright. Like, you know,
they said that, you know, Wainwright couldn't get people out when he was throwing 89. You know,
he adjusted and did this and that to make sure that he was still, uh,
a viable pitcher. And then I immediately thought went to that year where I'm like, yeah,
and then he fell off a cliff and was terrible. Remember?
Yeah.
To do anything to get a win? It was awful. It was awful. So that's what we're hoping we're
not looking at this year is a big dip in production from Sunny Gray. Basically, stop throwing
your four-scene passball. Everybody tease off. Just don't throw it anymore. Ever. Don't ever do it.
Sweepers only.
Stick. Exactly. Sinkers.
Butters, sweeper, anything with movement.
Don't throw your forcing fastball because they,
they're big juicy steaks coming in there and they're,
they're crushing it.
So don't do that.
Top prospect, JJ Weatherhull is going to begin the season at AA Springfield,
essentially skipping high A Peoria.
So sorry to my friends in Peoria,
who we're hoping he'd get to start with the chiefs there.
I lived in Peoria for a few years and worked there in radio.
So that sucks for them.
I'm sorry, you guys, but, yeah, JJ's going to go to double A.
I have no doubt to end up in AAA at some point this season.
He's on the fast track to get where he needs to be,
barring any major setbacks or anything.
But even though you didn't see a whole lot of them this spring,
you saw a lot of good stuff about him.
And, you know, sky's a limit.
We're all very excited about JJ.
The Cardl's place left.
He's Zach Thompson on the 15-day injured list on Monday.
He remained in Jupiter, where he's set to begin a throwing program shortly.
miss most of spring training due to that torn lap muscle on his left side.
But the good news was that they in and ever put him on the 60 day injured list.
They don't expect it to be as long as that.
So they never actually made that move.
So 15 days for him.
Nick Anderson went on waivers and was available to all the other teams to get plucked.
And nobody wanted him.
So he's going to stay with the Cardinals and we'll join the class AAA Memphis bullpen.
So you got another depth piece if there's something were to happen.
and hopefully Nick Anderson can ramp things up, you know, a couple of years ago.
Yeah, he was pretty good.
It hasn't done all that much since.
But just another piece, just in case.
And let's get to some fun stuff here, Thomas.
Last night, the wife and I watched one of our favorite baseball movies to get us into the baseball mood.
And we watched the sand light, our sandline, which, like, it's just so good, dude.
Like, we all remember being kids and playing on crappy fields somewhere around our,
neighborhoods hitting balls into people's yards, you know, getting yelled at for it, obviously.
We used to smack in our subdivision tennis balls.
We would use a whiff a ball bat.
We would load it up and tape it.
And then we would use tennis so we could hit it farther.
We hit it on the roofs of the houses and the back decks of the houses behind us.
And we screamed after that.
A neighbors hated us.
We broke some shutters from some of the neighbors once with a line drive.
So trying chewing tobacco in the movie.
hilarious stuff realizing it's awful going to the community pools just a lot of good memories
there did you know that you can buy pf flyer still i had no idea that's awesome you can buy those
we looked them up last night not that expensive either uh basically like numbers chucks for those of you
who don't know what we're talking about the late james earl jones is mr burdell in it obviously
is really cool uh so that's a big one in our house how about some favorites of yours what do you got
In my house, it's about me watching baseball movies.
My three-year-old isn't quite into it.
My wife isn't, it's not a cup of tea.
I've got four that I came up with.
I've got, you have to have field of dreams.
I feel like anybody who ever talks baseball movies has to have field of dreams.
I loved 42 when it came out, and I rewatched about a year ago, and it still held up.
I watched League of Their Own.
This might come out wrong.
Sorry, everybody.
I watched that for the first time probably about three years ago of my life.
And I love that movie.
I think Tom Hanks is awesome in it.
I think the story behind it's really cool.
And then I'd have to go with Moneyball too.
I read the book first and then when the movie came out,
first of all, if you read the book and you watch the movie,
they're totally different stories.
Do not expect the same thing.
Yeah, it's not the same.
If you're a nerd, you go read the book.
If you're not a nerd, go watch the movie.
I think that movie's great.
It's gotten memed a little bit as the years have come along,
but I still think it's a good movie.
Yeah, we love money.
We started Moneyball last night,
but there was no way the wife was going to make it through the whole thing.
So we had a way to put it off.
right when opening day started, to be honest, they were doing the national anthem with the guitar.
And I was like, I was like, you're out.
Let's save it.
So, yeah, I'm glad you mentioned a league of their own.
Tom Hanks, yes, awesome.
John Lovitz as the scout cracks me in every time.
He's not in it very long, but he is a riot.
Every scene that he's in.
We've got a poll question actually up on which one you want to vote for with Sandlot Major League.
Obviously, the late Bob Euker is going to get some love there as Harry Doyle.
oil. The natural and money ball were the ones. That can only put up four options. So obviously,
you could write in which ones are your favorites because there's so many. We got somebody who said
fever pitch, gross, Red Sox beat the Cardinals in that movie. Stop it.
Aitman Out, which is a classic. You know, takes you back to the old school, which is a good
one to watch for the love of the game. Got a lot of that with Costner. Costner's obviously
got a couple of good baseball movies. I like the rookie too. Robinson.
61. Have you ever seen that one, Billy Crystal's take on Roger Maris's chase for the record?
No, I've never seen it. The one I did forget to mention was the rookie. My family is a river house.
It only had a VHS player when I was younger, and that was like one of the four movies that were there.
And so we watched the rookie endlessly. That's another good one too.
Yeah, Dennis Quay, the Jim Morris story.
Yeah.
Based on a true story of how we ended up with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at the time.
and ended up getting into the major leagues.
Field of Dreams, you said.
Bull Durham, obviously, is a huge one with Koster.
How about this one?
Mr. Baseball.
Have you ever seen that one with Tom Selleck?
No, I've not.
And especially now that we're getting a lot of Asian players coming over,
where so in this movie, he plays for the Yankees,
and he actually ends up signing over in Japan
because he can't cut it in the major leagues anymore.
So he goes overseas, and he was like this big hero with the Yankees and the playoffs and stuff.
And Frank Thomas actually takes his job in the movie.
He's the upcoming prospect.
And so you get to see the other side.
So it's pretty cool.
I think it's a vastly underrated one.
We got summer catch.
Somebody put that in there.
Jessica Biel.
Yeah, nice.
Hardball with Gianno Reeves.
Not bad.
The one.
Trouble with the curve.
people forget about
the original bad news
bears movies you've got the
really Bob Gordon version and then you got the
old school ones which
if you go back and watch that
I think it's the second one is where they actually go to
the Astrodome so that one's pretty good
bench warmers is ridiculous
the scout the babe
you ever seen the babe
no I haven't seen that one
I know I'm familiar
I know
I just rewatched Marvel movies
like anything I'm comfortable with.
That's my movie genre there.
Just rewatching things I enjoy.
Well, if you like Disney, Angels in the Outfield is out there.
That's another one, yeah.
That's another good one.
Another one that's kind of underrated talent for the game,
which also has to do with the Angels, actually.
But it's about a scout who goes and finds a guy in the middle of nowhere
and ends up bringing him to the show.
And they try to push him as this new stuff.
Pretty good.
Almost is the guy that does it.
that is the scout in that one.
And then, of course, who can forget, I put a link to it, Ozzie the movie.
If you haven't seen that from 1987, I know a lot of you were not even around in
1987, but this one was a classic that I used to watch all the time.
It's basically Ozzie Smith highlights during the 80s when the Cardinals with Whitey
and all those guys.
So that's a fun one to watch if you guys haven't done that either.
But it's on YouTube.
So you can just click the link that I attached to it.
and go see it for yourself.
So there you go.
Those are all the movies.
There's a lot of them.
There's other ones that I haven't even named.
So feel free to hit us up on the poll.
Make sure you guys are checking out,
Redbirdrance.com.
Thomas, what do you got coming up for us as far as articles here soon?
I've got that one about, one about Libertor coming out.
And then I'm going to write a piece about players who didn't make the 26-man roster,
but it will absolutely be seeing time this year.
All right.
Check it out, Redbirdrance.com.
