Starting point is 00:00:01 The Colts have been busy these last couple weeks, but there is still much work left to be done. Let's get to it. You are Locked on Colts, your daily Indianapolis Colts podcast, part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day. All right, welcome to Locked on Colts, part of the Locked on Podcast Network. I am your host, Jake Arthur. And today we are answering more of the questions that you guys sent into us this week. over on social media,
Starting point is 00:00:38 the insider program, the Everdager Club. We started to get into this a little bit yesterday with the episode that Zach did. But then the Colts went out and made a couple notable signings with Akeem Davis Gaither and Nick Westbrook Aquina literally like a couple minutes into us recording. So the question's kind of got put a little bit on the back burner.
Starting point is 00:00:59 But that is all we're doing here today. And as you know, we like to answer every single question. So what didn't get answered yesterday, what doesn't get answered today, we will continue to bundle those into episodes for you throughout the week because we like to make sure, you know, if you guys took the time to ask us a question, we want to get that answered. Today, a few big categories. Looking at the draft, obviously, we're looking at kind of the current state of the Colts
Starting point is 00:01:23 and some team-specific stuff there. And then we're going to start with free agency, though. So let's go ahead. This first one is from Relo on Twitter. Who is your go-get-em? and I'll stop being doom and gloom player that's left in free agency. The Colts made the signings of Westbrook, Akina and Davis Gayther yesterday, but none of them are really needle movers for Rello.
Starting point is 00:01:46 So I'm going to be kind of a party pooper, I guess. Like, there's not really anyone left in free agency that really does it for me. I'm not an enormous free agency guy to begin with, but like the more impactful guys are kind of off the board at this point. There are some modest ones I still would be cool with. But if you're talking about swings, I think the trade market is really where it's at. I really would like them to go into the draft not having such big needs at edge. Ardenki is a fine player that they added,
Starting point is 00:02:17 but he shouldn't be your other starter opposite of LATU. I think you're going to get yourself in the same boat as you've been in with having to be too reliant on Laiatu Latu, and those guys not helping each other out enough with attention and from blockers. and it's just, it feels like very much running it back with Quitty Pay. So you obviously have no first round pick, but if you can trade like a third or fourth round pick and bundle a player like Anthony Richardson or Jalen Jones,
Starting point is 00:02:48 just someone who's tradable and you can get Jonathan Grenard, you can get Josh Sweat from the Cardinals, Kvon Tivodeau from the Giants, someone who has promised they're still relatively youngish, and you know they will be starting opposite. lot to and can have an instant impact and a positive impact, I think that's the way to go. So for me, it's more of the trade market, but I don't want you to cough up the second round pick because I still am a draft nerd at the end of the day, and I don't want the Colts to not be picking in the first two rounds. That sounds very boring. So this next one is from
Starting point is 00:03:23 Bo on Twitter. Are the Colts owners more cash conscious than we previously thought? Is that the reason why in lieu of the Trey Hendrickson signing falling through, we didn't see more competition on short-term deals for the various other pass rushers that they got, and that includes linebackers and safeties as well? Actually, no. The Colts are way more open to spending with guaranteed money now than they were before. My understanding going into free agency is that Carly-Ey-Gordon was ready to bust open the wallet and let the Colts be competitive in the free. agent market. Now, with that said, some teams spent a little crazily, and there's a difference between the Colts being aggressive and closing deals and spending irresponsibly and kind of teetering that line of reckless. Like Jalen Phillips signing a multi-year deal for $30 million per year,
Starting point is 00:04:18 a little crazy for a guy with such an injury history. Trey Hendrickson being 31, signing a four-year deal for what was like 28 and a half million per year? year. It's a little crazy. I just think the Colts were trying not to be reckless with their spending. Again, not that they aren't in on significant, you know, expensive players, but they're not going to be crazy about it either. And I honestly don't blame them for that. Like, I did want Tray Hendrickson to a point. I wanted Jalen Phillips to a point, but they both wound up signing for much more than I anticipated. And with that being the case, I'm good with the Colts kind of withdrawing on that. This next one is from Josh Briggs
Starting point is 00:04:59 1914 on YouTube. What's the chance that we signed Bobby O'Caricay back? And if the Colts do, does that make them not bring Jermaine Pratt back? And then Josh said he wouldn't mind both plus drafting a couple linebackers. So this obviously, Akeem Davis Gather, that factors into it. I think he's going to be one of the two starters. I would have him at will, just because he's a
Starting point is 00:05:23 multi-talented guy. He can rush the passer a little bit. He's decent in coverage. He can play the run. But it might be a little difficult, specifically to find a Mike linebacker, the green dot in the draft. You got Jacob Rodriguez, Jake Golda, Josiah Trotter. Those guys could do it. But there's nothing saying that you're going to be able to land those guys specifically. So Akeem Davis-Gaithor has played Mike and Will for Lou Anirmo before, so he could wind up sliding into Mike.
Starting point is 00:05:54 and the Colts draft a will linebacker, whatever. Basically what I'm getting at is I think they would like to draft a starting linebacker in the upcoming draft, obviously, to pair with Akeem Davis Gather. Now, if they miss out on that, because I know they missed out last year, there was a couple linebackers they liked in the second round. They weren't able to land. If they strike out again, then I think that brings Jermaine Pratt and Bobby O'Caric back up to being possibilities.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Not that they don't, not that those guys, aren't good, but I just think they want to get someone in the draft. You know, you have a long-term vision with them. They're not expensive. They're not, you know, 28, 29, 30 years old. The draft is the better way to go. But if you strike out, then you pair Davis Gather with Jermaine Pratt or you pair them with Bobby O'Caricay. Well, then you're ready to roll at linebacker going into the year. It looks a lot better than it does right now, for example. So if they strike out in the draft, then I see of Bobby O'Caricay or Jemay and Pratt being more of a possibility. This next one is pretty interesting from Cody on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:06:59 If the sauce gardener trade happened at the same time as the Max Crosby trade originally. So basically if the Colts traded for Sauce Gardner now versus in the season at the same time like Max Crosby is at the time being traded to the Ravens, what would be the perception of the Colts off season? So that one's a little thought provoking, I think. So I'm big on sauce garden. I think he's going to be big for the Colts. But if you're trading two first round picks for a player right now, it better be an edge rusher.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I think that would be a lot of people's opinion. Not that no one wants Sauce Gardner on the Colts, but if you're giving up that much draft capital, it better before Crosby or better before T.J. Watt or something. you know, like an established bona fide edge rusher, which is the Colts most significant need. Now, the Colts view cornerback as a critical slot in this defense with Luan Arumo. So having Sauce Gardner to them, that's very, very valuable. So I get it from their perspective.
Starting point is 00:08:05 But I do think people would be miffed that the Colts didn't cough that up for an edge rusher. This next one is from Rahul Hore, 1995, from the Everdaers Club. every offseason Chris Ballard has a habit of not addressing at least one major position of need, which position do you think that will be this offseason? So he is at least touched on most of the needs, at least in his own way so far. But one area that they've just kind of left alone, which there could be riding on the wall, is the offensive line, specifically the depth. They've only lost guys to this point.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Braden Smith left to the Texans. Danny Pinter to the Ravens. Now, Smith, like, you have his replacement already in Jalen Travis. You don't have a replacement for Danny Pintre yet as your backup center. And I do not like the swing tackle competition right now. I don't even know if you can call it a competition. But Blake Freeland is kind of the front runner there right now coming off of a major leg break last summer. So offensive line, they've got to add at least a couple guys.
Starting point is 00:09:14 They need someone who could back up Tanner Bordellini at center. They need someone who's a better option at swing tackle than Blake Freeland. And you could probably make an argument for one more guy in there as well. Like they need two or three more guys to compete for depth there on the offensive line because right now it's just not it. And as we know with the Colts, there are going to be injuries on the offensive line. There always are. So you need more quality bodies in there because there's already a shortage of quality
Starting point is 00:09:42 offensive linemen in the NFL. so you need to kind of try and build up the cachet of them that you can right now. So that is it for free agency questions right now. In a moment, we're going to get to kind of the current stay of the Colts and some more team-specific questions. College basketball is nonstop. Obviously, the tournament just got underway today. Big games, tight spreads, momentum swings every single night. From early tip-offs to late-night West Coast shootouts, there is always action on the board.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Now Fandall is giving you a way to turn that. energy into even bigger potential wins with a college basketball parlay profit boost. You can build any college hoops parlay that you want, rivalry games, rank matchups, whatever fits your vibe. You can make spreads, totals, and player props to match how you see the slate playing out. Then you can apply the profit boost and instantly bump up that potential payout. So go safe, go bold, ride with the team that you've been following all season if they made the tournament. It's your parlay.
Starting point is 00:10:41 It's your style. Now with more upside behind it. So head to fandul.com to get started. That's fanduil.com. Fanduil. Play your game. What if sports were traded like markets? Now you can put your sports IQ to work in real time with Robin Hood prediction markets. It's not you against the house either.

Robin Hood prediction markets changes the game. It's people moving the action. So when the momentum shifts, you can move with it. Starting point is 00:11:53 We are a couple of weeks into free agency, so the questions are burning hot. But remember to join the Everyday Air Club now, which is one way to submit your questions to us. You got a special code you can use March, and that means you're going to get your first month of the Everydayer Club free. We can all commiserate in the members-only chats as our brackets get blown apart. And as a member of the club, you're going to get our audio ad-free. Again, it's all free for a month with code March at locked on colts.supercast.com. All right, so moving along to this next question here,
Starting point is 00:12:26 Johnny Valencia on Twitter asks, do you think that the Cam Taylor Britt signing could signal that the Colts are going to move off from Mooney Ward this offseason since he can't stay healthy? And they haven't out after this year. I don't think so with Mooney. His salary, about $13 million just became guaranteed recently. So I think if the Colts were going to do something with him, they probably would have already done it by now. Now, the language that Chris Ballard chose to use at the Combine, it did perk up my ears a little bit because he said that Charberius Ward wants to come back and play football, but he didn't necessarily make it sound like it's going to be with the Colts.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Like normally he'd be like, and we can't wait to have him back or we can't wait to see him out there and, you know, get back to doing his thing. Like that wasn't the terminology he used. Maybe that's me looking too much into it. But my gauge on it is that Mooney Ward is going to be with the Colts. He's going to be part of their plans. Maybe they do that. They can't really do anything with the contract. Or not that they can't, but again, the timing would be weird at this point.
Starting point is 00:13:32 I would have thought they would have done something already. But, you know, maybe they got something planned out there. This next one is also kind of a Cam Taylor-Brit themed question. It's from Seth Daniels on Twitter. with the Brit signing. Do you think that Jalen Jones is a potential trade candidate? I can't see them getting much more than a late-day three pick for him, but it seems like he'd be better suited in a different system,
Starting point is 00:13:54 such as Gus Bradley's. I agree, Seth. So Jalen Jones, like his stock took an absolute battering this last year. Now, he was begged up quite a bit, but he could barely buy playing time when he was out there. The Colts were very selective, but when they used him and he had a couple rough hours. outings. But, I mean, as a seventh round pick, he started the first two years in the league
Starting point is 00:14:17 and looked pretty good in a different system. So, yeah, if you can, if you can get him for a seventh round pick or you can package him with something else to get an edge rush, like we kind mentioned earlier, go ahead and do it. I do think Jalen Jones has more trade value. And with the Cam Taylor Britt edition, it does seem like there's just no chance that Jalen Jones will be on the roster. It just, it hardly makes sense. So again, I agree with you there, Seth. This next one is from, again, Seth on Twitter with another thought-provoking one. With the amount of holes left on the Colts roster, is it crazy to think of Jonathan Taylor as a trade candidate to get more draft capital?
Starting point is 00:14:57 He's elite, but he's a free agent after next year and has a lot of tread on the tires. So I don't think the Colts are going to do that, especially with how much they'll be relying on him this year with Daniel Jones coming back from the Achilles. I can see why you would be intrigued by that, though. he's got about a $13 million difference between salary cap and dead cap. So the Colts would get a little something for switching him. But this is a win now year, and that is arguably your best player. So if this was more of a year about building towards the future and getting assets, I think maybe, but the theme of this offseason is very much win now.
Starting point is 00:15:36 And so you kind of have to reinvest in the success of players like Jonathan Taylor, which to me again would have been like reinforce that offensive line make sure the backups are really good which they might still do but I don't think trading Jonathan Taylor is part of their solution this offseason this next one is from
Starting point is 00:15:55 Alex Smith do you just your guys's opinions do you really think the Colts would have gone to the playoffs if Daniel Jones didn't get injured it's a very fine line but I tend to think yes so we're saying that I'm getting injured like not the fibula
Starting point is 00:16:11 and certainly not the Achilles. I think that swings a few games. I think you win the Chief's game because you should have won it anyways, and you choked down the stretch in the fourth quarter. You probably win the Chiefs game, and you probably beat the Texans and the Jaguars at home at Lucas Oil Stadium. Those were tough games.
Starting point is 00:16:29 The Colts really shouldn't have lost. You win those three, and you're more sitting at 10 and 7, 11, and 6. That makes things a lot more interesting in the division. I mean, obviously the Jags and Texans, both went on to make the playoffs. I'd be more inclined to say yes. There were some games that just no-showed.
Starting point is 00:16:49 The San Francisco game was awful. I'm also curious if the Seattle game would have looked different with Jones, and I mean that to be worse, because I think the Colts plan of attack with Philip Rivers in that first game, it really played into taking advantage of Seattle, and the Colts should have won that one.
Starting point is 00:17:08 So if Daniel Jones was in there and they had their normal offense, I don't know how that one would have went. It would have maybe gone even worse for the Colts. So there's some give and take in this argument here. But I am inclined to say, yes, Jones never getting hurt with the fibula or Achilles probably gets, it probably makes a difference of at least a few games.
Starting point is 00:17:27 I mean, you lost the final seven after how you looked early in the year. I think the Colts probably would have had like a wild card spot. I'm not saying they would have ran the table and had some awesome year, but just simply making the playoffs, I think so. So this next one from Josh on Twitter, who is one former Colts player that you would add to this team? If you could, love the pod, watch you guys pretty much every day. Thank you, Josh.
Starting point is 00:17:53 So obviously we're going to take Peyton Manning off the table. I would say probably Dwight Freeney, just because you need pass rush so bad right now. And having Dwight Freeney on this team, I think would make a big difference. having a pass rush like that with the corners that you have, I think would be a huge thing. I mean, Bob Sanders, of course, as well, that would be big.
Starting point is 00:18:17 But I think Dwight Freeney would probably have the bigger impact when you consider what else the Colts have. I think Frini would be a huge one for this year's team. This next one from Stephen Q. Ritter on Twitter, can add a time of while out of Boire play starting defensive end. I am scared. I need someone to hold me. I think we've all been there at some point, Stephen, when it comes to this cold steam.
Starting point is 00:18:41 So I don't think he'll start there. It's intriguing. Like he did play over 100 snaps on the edge last year. So I think that we may see him do more of that, especially you consider the added Colby Wooden. They've got guys there on the interior, which can allow for some flexibility in the way that you use Tommy. And it's not like he's this enormous guy who can only play inside. Like, he's very explosive and he's got a unique, unique build to where I think you could put him on the edge a little more often in certain situations. So I don't think he'll start, but I do think we'll probably see him on the edge even more, especially if they don't wind up adding anyone more impactful on the edge of this off season.
Starting point is 00:19:24 This next one is from Blake Jeffers on Twitter. Do you think that layout Tulu was still the better pass rusher in the draft than Dallas Turner? I mean, I do, honestly. like so here's here's how i kind of kind of thought of it i thought dallas turner made way more sense for what chris ballard would want like i thought dallas turner was a perfect chris ballard edge young at the position still developing he had the great size athleticism like dallas turner made a whole lot of sense for the colts and i thought they would go that way if given the opportunity but i thought la too lot too had the best tape of any edge rusher
Starting point is 00:20:03 in the draft. Now, he had the age and he had the concerns with his neck. So that played into it for me. But as far as, like, who had the best pass rushing tape, it was Latu for me. No questions asked whatsoever. And I was a little surprised, you know, Dallas Turner versus Ayatu Latu. I thought Turner would be the Colts guy. But, you know, I don't think it was a bad pick.
Starting point is 00:20:30 It just hasn't been as impactful as you would hope to. this point. Year three here is going to be pretty telling, so to speak, for sure. This next one is from Brad Lenser on Twitter. Does Lou Inerumo trust JT Tuamolo? Where is the disconnect? So Lou Inerumo does have a history of not really giving the young guys a ton of playing time. So they ask a lot of pretty much every position group. And I think he just, just prefers veterans and trust veterans a little more. It's not that he doesn't trust the rookie. It's just that he's already got guys that he trusts.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Now, with that being the case, they do like JT. Tuamolo. And I've heard the Colts version of bad-mouthing players. It always still sounds soft, but I've heard them what it sounds like when they don't really love guys. And I've never gotten that gauge on them from JT2M-Low. I just think even though he was a second round pick and you would have, like to have seen him more. I just don't think he caught onto that complex defense as quick as Tycoon Lewis and Samson Abiecom. But this is going to be a big year. Like, obviously a full off season to kind of dive in to what Lou wants him to do. Like, if he doesn't get a lot of
Starting point is 00:21:53 playing time this year, then I think it will prove to be kind of a wasted pick. But I'm not throwing in the cards on Tua Molo yet. Now, what's his ceiling? I don't know. Like his ceiling may just be quidipa, what quidipa is given you, or even like Sam Hubbard was kind of a comparable player if we're talking former Louanarumo players back with the Bengals. So I don't think, Tumala is going to be some star pass rusher, but I think he could be a really solid defensive end for you,
Starting point is 00:22:23 good against the run and could give you seven sacks a year or so, probably just more of a direct one-for-one quidipa replacement. So coming up next, guys, we got some draft specific questions that I'm going to fly through here. And I can't wait to get some of these. Some of them are really good. Welcome to the five-hour energy flavor draft with 18 different flavors to choose from, including new options like confetti craze, fruity rainbow, or cotton candy. There is something for everyone.
Starting point is 00:22:56 The board is set. The flavor is ready. And I've got my number one pick for the five-hour energy flavor draft. This week, I'm going with confetti crates, very, very much intrigued by this one. one. It's got a delicious blend of rich and buttery, freshly baked confetti cake. Who doesn't love that? Smooth vanilla frosting and a sprinkle of sweetness in every single sip. It brings that sweet birthday cake inspired flavor. It's got notes of vanilla frosting and sugary sprinkles, like I mentioned. It's got a smooth dessert-like taste profile and a rich, indulgent sweetness
Starting point is 00:23:28 from start to finish. Another one you've heard me talk about recently is that fruity rainbow one. That's another one I think is a really good content. It gives me runts vibes. If you guys ever ate that candy back in the day, I haven't seen runts in years, but it was always good. And you know what? That's what fruity rainbow, that flavor reminds me of. So whatever you choose, five-hour energy shots gives you a boost with zero sugar, which
Starting point is 00:23:53 means it's guilt-free. So find your new favorite flavor of five-hour energy shots available online at five-hour energy.com or Amazon. Welcome back to Lockdown Colts, everybody. Let's get these draft questions answered for you because, I mean, we're only a couple weeks into free agency, but I'm really getting my draft itch already. I think you guys probably are too. This one is from Jesse and the Every Dairs Club. The Colts don't have a first round pick, sadly.
Starting point is 00:24:24 But if they did, who would you pick number 16, which is where the Jets will be picking for the Colts? So I'm a big Dylan Theanaman fan. I fell in love when I watched his tape. That dude is unbelievable. My grades for him versus Caleb Downs are not that far away. I think Fianaman is just unbelievable. He's such a good player. I can do pretty much everything.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Very, very smart, very instinctive. And he's done it since being a true freshman at Purdue. So do the Colts need a ton of safety anymore? No, but like Fianaman, if he was there, it would be very difficult for me not to pull the trigger. I would also say, now, you guys might think this is indulgent, but Kenyon Sadiq is another unbelievable prospect as well. Now, obviously, the Colts have Tyler Warren,
Starting point is 00:25:15 but you have an opportunity here to really reshape the way you're passing offense, how it operates. So Michael Pippin, Jr. is out. You have a starting spot open. Now, Sadiq can block, and he can line up on the line as well. But he really does a lot of damage out in the open. So if you've got a two tight-end offense, there's a lot of mismatches involved in that. I'm thinking Tyler Warren and Kenyon Sadiq on the field at the same time, that is unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:25:45 The opportunities that Shane Steichen would have as a play caller just, it would be very, very rare to see. And both of those guys are big yards after catch, but they're not necessarily similar players. Sadiq is an athletic freak. like Warren is lumbering and he's tough and you know he can he can bully over guys with the ball on his hands but Sadiq can make you miss he can jump over you he can run through you he's crazy watch if you haven't watched much Kenyon Cidic I definitely suggest doing so and then if you look at edge rusher like a guy that would probably be available there Keldrick Falk from Auburn very intriguing guy I think he fits with the Colts kind of look for kind of Arden
Starting point is 00:26:29 keyish you know he's a big of guy around like 6-6-2-70-ish so like a bigger body to edge but he's athletic can move around pretty good and maybe miscast a little bit at alburn and if you just kind of have a specific plan for him in the NFL I think the Colts would do that I think he would fit well in what Louana Rumo does he likes kind of the bigger edge rushers uh so keldrick falk is a very intriguing guy for me as well so sitting at 16 I think those three guys make a whole lot of since this next one is from one of our favorites twisted clown in the everydayers club hypothetically Omar Cooper Jr., Jacob Rodriguez, and Josiah Trotter are all available at
Starting point is 00:27:10 pick 40 for the Colts. Chris Ballard moves up from 47 to 40 because those three guys are there and he wants to trade up for one of them. Again, this is all hypothetical. If it all remains the same, who are you trading up to get? So for me, probably Omar Cooper Jr. He's going to be the highest ranked of the three. I think he would add something really dynamic to your offense and would compliment Alec Pierce very, very well. He can line up inside. He can line up outside. He could get you yards after the catch. Very shifty. He's got kind of the joystick agility that you look for. Very sure hands. I think he's a clutch player as well. So Omar Cooper Jr. and then I'd probably rank Josiah Trotter and Jacob Rodriguez in that order afterwards.
Starting point is 00:27:54 This next one from Melvin Snyder, also in the Everydayers Club. We love Melvin. There have been some rumors about Chris Ballard and company thinking about trying to trade back to get a couple more picks this year. In your eyes and knowledge, would that be more helpful than hurt at this point and for agency where we sit with things? No, I think it's going to happen. There could always be the opportunity, like Twisted Clown just laid out where there's someone shortly ahead of the Colts and they trade up to get them. but more likely they're going to trade back. Now, if they're just picking up like another couple six-rounders
Starting point is 00:28:31 or a couple seventh, that one's, and it doesn't do much for you. But if you can add another, like, fourth-rounder or maybe even fifth-rounder, I'm into that. I do think it'd be helpful. I think at this point, you need as many shots of the dartboard as you can get. So I'm hardly ever opposed to them trading back and getting more picks. This next one is from off season 365 on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Do you see a plug-and-play play play? in the draft for the Colts. Yeah, there's a few guys, just if you're looking at linebacker. I want to say I'll single out some Mike linebackers. Jake Golda, Jacob Rodriguez, and Josiah Trotter would be three outstanding options to be your next Mike linebacker. I think they could start for you right away. As far as wide receivers goes, Deshaun's straddling from Ole Miss.
Starting point is 00:29:17 I don't know if he would start right away. He probably wouldn't start right away. Now the Colts have Nick Westbrook Aquina, but he is a big-bodied guy. explosive before and after the catch can do things vertically, very sure hands. Again, I don't know why he's not more in consideration for the first. I think he's unbelievable when you look at like a day two prospect. I think the opportunity there is awesome. So one of those three linebackers or Deshawn Struggling, I think, would be really good options for the Colts.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Could you see the Colts adding a big nickel or strong safety early in the draft? That's from Jack Geiley from Twitter. Probably not so much at this point because that's kind of what. what Wanii Thomas is. He's kind of a do-it-all safety. And I think they want to give him a shot to earn a starting spot and maybe even more beyond this year if he does well. But if they were going to do that, you know, AJ Halsey from LSU, Jalen Kilgore from South Carolina makes a lot of sense as well. Those type of guys. He's the kid, Bud Clark from TCU. Those are the ones that I would probably be lining up to get if the Colts were in the market for them.
Starting point is 00:30:24 How should the Colts approach their top two 100, two top 100 picks? That was a tongue twister for me. Linebacker in the second and edge in the third, wide receiver in the third. Where do you guys land at the moment? That's from for the shoe on Twitter. So yeah, probably somewhere with linebacker,
Starting point is 00:30:42 an edge and receiver, some mix of those. I would probably go linebacker in the second because I think the value is there. Linebacker just, I think it's very rich in this draft and you don't see those guys necessarily shoved up into the top the first round or top 50 too often. So between, again, Jake Golda, Anthony Hill, Jacob Rodriguez, Josiah Trotter, Kyle Lewis, like they're sure to be one of those linebackers available to in the second round. And then Edge in the third, yeah, there's some there.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Derek Moore, maybe Gabe Ocas from Illinois is available to you. there's some edge guy like I think I probably like the edge guys closer to the third round than I do the second round unless someone starts to slide but I think that's probably the best value as linebacker and then edge I think the receivers around the third round as well are probably a little better than I would go for in the second round too next up we've been getting we've been talking a bunch about the needs on defense but what do you guys see is the biggest needs on offense is a wide receiver Offensive line depth, RB2. Personally, I think the offensive line depth hasn't been talked about enough. That's from our guy Phil Costa on Twitter. So fully agree with you on the offensive line depth, as I've mentioned a couple of times in the show so far. Wide receiver, of course, you need to replace Michael Pittman Jr. and A.D. Mitchell. And, you know, you could give more work to Ashton-D. Dooland.
Starting point is 00:32:14 Tyler Warren's going to see more work. Obviously, Alec Pierce, Nick Westbrook Akina, but I think you still need a little more there. but RB2 is a sneaky one. I like that one. I think the Colts have been chasing the feeling of having Zach Moss since Zach Moss left. I think it burned them a bit that he left for Cincinnati, and they've really been wanting that type of compliment next to Jonathan Taylor. If DJ Giddens can catch on better than he did last year, maybe,
Starting point is 00:32:42 but I do think the Colts want to find just a gritty running back who can get those tough yards and kind of play into the theme of they can run the ball when they want to. That's something the Colts very much want to establish. So I think getting a tough between the tackles runner is something that might be a little bit of a priority for them. Now, this last one for today is from Elliot Beaver on Twitter. Do you feel as though a Michael Pittman Jr. replacement needs to be in the same mold of receiver, or would you rather see them go with a different type of receiver?
Starting point is 00:33:13 So that's a good question. I don't think it needs to necessarily be that type of tough over-the-middle possession receiver. Like if it did, then you would look at like an Elijah Surat from Indiana would make a lot of sense. But I think the Nick Westbrook-A-Kina move tells us that the Colts are viewing this as an opportunity to get more explosive on offense and upgrade over Pittman in the explosive category. Now, Pittman's a better receiver than Nick Westbrook-A-Kina is, but he's not more explosive than. hands. So you could look at, we talked about Deshaun Striveling offers a good blend of what Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr. can do. Chris Brasel from Tennessee is kind of on the Alec Pierce end of things as well. But I think the Colts, he's a big body guy. I think the Colts
Starting point is 00:34:02 would be comfortable adding him. So Jeremy Bernard from Alabama, like I don't think the Colts are going to pigeonhole themselves into being like, we need a gritty chain mover. Who, who can make plays over the middle, make tough catches. I think those would be nice attributes to have, but overall I think they want to be more explosive. Because I think they've seen what their offense looks like when they have all those weapons, and it works. It can be a historically great offense
