Welcome back to Locked On Colts, ladies and gentlemen.
I'm your host, Matt Dainley, and thank you for joining me here on a Monday, January 16th, on Locked On Colts.
And we've got a very, very special show for you today.
I mean, there's been a lot of things going around, a lot of rumors.
And, you know, crazy as it sounds, we've got some breaking news today to discuss.
There was a lot going around on Twitter the other night, you know, lots of stuff that are very interesting to hear. You know, you never know what's going on because, you know, all of a sudden, I mean,
we have several, several poser accounts giving breaking news on what's going on inside the
Indianapolis Colts, that there's going to be some changes made tomorrow, you know, that Pagano and Ursae are working on a contract
buyout. You know, the only guy that's got it started with like 200 followers the other day,
and he runs a betting site. And then, you know, we've got, I mean, just all kinds of news. I mean,
let's kind of recap where all the craziness started. You know, JMV and Bob Kravitz started on 1070 The Fan and were kind of discussing the
Gruden and the Payton rumors and stuff. And then, you know, all craziness went from there. You know,
those guys kind of brought it up at first. And then, I mean, we started getting all these accounts
and, you know, people who are just random follows or random people on Twitter all of a sudden are privy to all the inside information that goes on.
And basically the entire gist of it was that they were hearing that the Colts and Irsay were interested in trying to bring on Peyton Manning in a GM role or a front office role.
And then were searching uh John Gruden you know his plane was down our
Earth's Ace plane was heading down to Houston went to Houston apparently they did talk you know which
is kind of what JMV and Kravitz were implying and you know then we get a lot of secondary
information and third and tertiary information that know, people keep adding little specs and little pieces to
what JMV and Bob Kravitz already said. And then they're kind of trying to pass it off as though
that they're, you know, getting this information when it's really just the same thing said in a
different way with additional information that could never be confirmed or denied necessarily.
You know, it's just one of those things, people trying to sound smart. And so, you know, it's kind of crazy that I was able to get this
exclusive today. Uh, I can't tell you who he is. He's an unnamed source, but I brought him on the
show because he wanted to talk and he wanted to kind of tell, uh, everybody firsthand and first
foremost, didn't want to drop it on Twitter,
didn't really want his name out there for that.
And so he called me, and I told him I'd put him on,
and he says he's got great information of who the Colts' next head coach is going to be.
So let's get this thing started.
All right.
So he doesn't want me to use his real name, so I'm just going to call him Bob.
You know, it's pretty safe, right?
Bob, how are you doing today, man?
I'm doing good.
Thank you.
And so you said that you've got some information regarding who will be the next head coach
of the Indianapolis Colts.
So you can confirm, first of all, that Pagano is going to be, uh, you know, relieved of his duties. Yes, that is absolutely true. Okay. Uh, I think Colts fans would be,
uh, real excited to hear that, to be quite honest with you. That's some news that they've been
wanting to hear for a while, but, uh, anything on Grigson at all before we get too far into this?
Nothing on Grigson. Okay. All right. Fair enough. Um. So, you know, this is kind of a big interview, so a little nervous here.
But what exactly are you hearing?
Well, I've got good information that Danny Langsdorf will be the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
Danny Langsdorf.
You're going to have to refer to him.
I'm not sure who that is.
He's the offensive coordinator at Nebraska.
The offensive coordinator at Nebraska.
Okay.
Um, what would make him, I don't, I've never heard his name in any kind of a coaching,
not even a head coach for, for college or anything.
Where, where are you hearing this?
Well, my brother owns a Krispy Kreme in Lincoln and he was told by his agent that he's been getting some phone calls from professional
teams about a head coaching position. So he didn't get anything from a college you know from college
coaches or anything like that he's only getting them from pro teams? Well there's a few and I
won't name them because I don't want to go too far out on a limb here. But he was told that he is definitely getting interviewed while all this is going on.
You know, Ursae took his plane to Houston.
And on the way back, he stopped in Lincoln and spoke with Danny.
And apparently, Danny just blew him away with his knowledge of the game. And now Danny has been told that he has been offered the head
coaching job in Indianapolis. Wow. So man, that's okay. That's a little bit to, uh, to reel in here.
So he's gotten the head coaching job in Indianapolis and completely flown under the
radar. So this was, must've been after Jim Irsay, uh, took his, or made it
impossible for anybody to track his tail number. Look, I don't know any of the additional details
on Jim Irsay's plane. All I know is that his cousin told me that he was getting the job in
Indianapolis. Wait, you said his agent said that he was getting the job in Indianapolis.
Did I say that? I meant his cousin. His cousin told me at the Dunkin' Donuts that he was getting a job in Indianapolis. Did I say that? I meant his cousin.
His cousin told me at the Dunkin' Donuts that he was getting a job in Indianapolis.
You said, I'm pretty sure that you said Krispy Kreme
the first time around.
No, that can't be right.
I definitely meant Dunkin' Donuts.
Okay, so we're getting information from a guy
who works at Dunkin' Donuts, his cousin or agent.
Which one is it?
It was his cousin at Dunkin' Donuts, and he was speaking to his agent who was at the Krispy Kreme donut shop.
Okay, so forgive me for being a little skeptical here.
So how certain are you that this uh source
that you're you're talking about is accurate 110 there is absolutely no doubts in my mind
that danny lansdorff is going to be announced as the next indianapolis colts head coach
oh wow okay so all right so let's play with this a little bit. So who, who is he bringing in
with his, uh, you know, how, how does a, an offensive coordinator from Nebraska
bring in some quality NFL, uh, assistant coaches and position coaches and such?
Danny is a true genius among offensive minds in coaching circles.
That's fun. That's I've never, ever, I've never, I've never even heard this guy's name.
You know, I mean, we're in Indiana.
I mean, granted, he lives in Nebraska, and, you know, he coaches there.
And, you know, it's kind of Big Ten country, though.
Still, you'd think that if he was such a hot name, I would have heard it
or that some of us would have heard it.
Look, I can't tell you any more than that.
I got to go.
Bob, you still there?
Bob.
Okay.
Bob's gone.
So I guess you guys heard it here first.
Danny Langsdorf is going to be the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
This is kind of strange.
This is kind of, you know, what an honor to be given this exclusive interview here.
I mean, you guys, there's no doubt.
You guys heard it here first.
The absolute first knowledge of who the Indianapolis Colts
is going to hire as their head coach.
I mean, that's going to be Andrew Luck's go-to guy.
I mean, I wonder if he's going to call the plays himself
or if he has another offensive coordinator in mind
that he will have run the plays.
I wonder what this means for Grigson too. It's kind of strange. So, um, guys, uh, you know, that's about all we got for
today. Um, thank you guys for listening in. Uh, hope you guys are satisfied. This is kind of
strange. I'm gonna have to go look this guy up. Uh, so, uh, maybe you guys should do the same.
Thank you guys for, uh, tuning in and, you know, uh, as always, uh, you guys should do the same. Thank you guys for tuning in. And, you know, as always, you guys
have been fantastic and you're giving great reviews and ratings on the podcast on iTunes.
I really appreciate that. It literally only takes a couple seconds to do. Please go on there. And
we've got I've got a link on my Twitter account. You guys can go to and review and rate the podcast and tell me what you guys think.
The more the better.
We've had a great influx of listeners over the past several months and over the past few weeks as well, to be quite honest.
So we'll keep putting it out.
And we've got a really good show for you guys for tomorrow, too.
I'll have Amy Trask on.
And we're going to dive in a little bit more to the front office aspect of what's going on in Indianapolis with this circus.
And man, maybe I'll even ask her about this breaking news.
So thank you guys.
And I will talk to you all tomorrow right here on Locked on Colts.
