Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, everybody. Welcome into Locked On Colts, part of the Locked On Podcast Network. Today's host is Evan Sedry. And for the first time, I'm going solo today because it is the day before the draft. We're listening 24 hours actually now until the Colts are on the clock, until the NFL draft is officially started. I am very excited. It's one of my favorite times of the year. I know many of our listeners here on Locked On Colts feel the same way. I've loved the draft since I was like eight or nine years old, and this is definitely like feeling like a kid in a candy store sometimes. And the Colts are 26th on the clock this year as far as where they're going to be picking at.
Starting point is 00:00:32 They're also at 34th thanks to the Quentin Nelson trade that the savvy GM Chris Bauer pulled off for the Colts last year at the draft. But today we're going to do mock draft 2.0. I know the first time we were doing a mock draft, I believe it was two weeks ago at this point, my cousin Mitch came on the show, who by the way, will be back on the show I believe this weekend or next week to go over the draft with me a little bit more. But today we're going to do mock draft 2.0 with just my thoughts, including trades, what I think is going to happen. So if you want to follow along, if you want to listen to this during the draft, see how accurate I was, that's why I'm going to be doing it myself here because I feel like as far as trades, as far as where everyone was selected in this mock draft,
Starting point is 00:01:08 going 1-34 for you guys, the Colts had that second pick in the second round. I think it's pretty darn accurate and we'll see how it goes. So without further ado, let's dive into it right now with the Arizona Cardinals who are on the clock first. And I think it's an easy choice. I actually am stationed out in Arizona for the Monetwood School, finishing up here soon. I'm looking forward to getting back to Indianapolis. But as far as the first pick goes, I think Kyler Murray is that pick. I feel like there's too much smoke since the combine where Kyler Murray pretty much has been the guy Cliff Kingsbury has wanted.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Cliff Kingsbury, by the way, said at Texas Tech last year before he was fired that he believes Kyler Murray should be the number one pick in the draft. Ironically enough, he is the coach of the team as the number one pick in the draft. So I feel like we're going to see some fireworks on Thursday night. Kyler Murray is going to be the Arizona Cardinal. Their quarterback in the future will be Cliff Kingsbury's new offense forward. Josh Rosen, though, where is he going to be traded to? I feel like, for me, I think the Chargers make the most sense.
Starting point is 00:02:02 I feel like not for the 28th pick, but the second round pick, they're going to trade for either them or the Redskins. But I don't want to give away my Redskins prediction yet because I feel like they're going to be very aggressive on the draft night. So, Kyler Murray, Oklahoma quarterback, is number one overall to the Arizona Cardinals to reset the system there in Arizona, the Cliff Kingsbury. But back in the clock here, number two, Nick Bosa, the edge rusher out of Ohio State. I feel like this is an easy choice for them to make. They need an edge rusher, Dee Ford.
Starting point is 00:02:28 They have an easy out for one or two years. So I feel like if they get Nick Bosa on one side, Dee Ford on the other, they can make a run for the NFC West this year. And then really the next two or three years as well with Jimmy Garoppolo, a quarterback. So don't be surprised at all if they go Nick Bosa here. I know Quinn Williams has been a hot name here too. But I feel like Bosa's the pick here.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Number three overall, the New York Jets. I feel like they're going to definitely try to trade out here. We've seen a lot of smoke screens about them, but I feel like they're not going to be able to trade out this pick because I feel like they're the team that's setting the smoke screens up so they can try to get out this pick. Quinn and Williams, defensive tackle of Alabama. That is who I have going here, the New York Jets.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I feel like he's the best player available. I feel like he's the number one player in this draft class. I'm going to say home run pick, the New York Jets. I feel like he's the best player available. I feel like he's the number one player in this draft class. I'm going to say home run pick by the New York Jets. And to get Sam Darnold another elite piece on defense to go with Jamal Adams, I love the possibility of that for the New York Jets. So Quinton Williams is the third overall pick in my mock draft 2.0. The fourth pick here is Devin White, linebacker out of LSU. I believe he is the best player available on the board as well, even over Josh Allen.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I feel like Josh Allen is a little inconsistent for me. But Devin White, the Raiders have desperately needed a linebacker for years. I feel like Devin White out of LSU makes the most sense there, so I'm going to go with him at number four. Number five, Josh Allen is off the board now for the Tampa Buccaneers. They would have loved Devin White in this situation. I think either one of those two guys, Devin White or Josh Allen, will be a buck by Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:03:46 In this scenario, I have Josh Allen falling from 4-5. I think most people have him going 4-0 to the Raiders or even 3-0 to the Jets, but I think he's going to slip a little bit. Go a couple spots later than people think, either at 5-0 to the Buccaneers or 6-0 to the Giants, but here I am going 5-0 to Tampa Bay. Number six, this is an interesting pick here because I think this is going to be a draft
Starting point is 00:04:06 where Dave Gettleman, their GM, is going to shock people. And I think it's going to be for all the wrong reasons too. I feel like they're going to have a really head-scratching draft on the first night especially. And I feel like they've been playing seats for a while now that they might go with Daniel Jones, the quarterback out of Duke here. A Peyton Manning, Eli Manning disciple of sorts
Starting point is 00:04:23 under David Cutcliffe at Duke. I feel like there's too many dots being connected there for me to ignore. So I'm going to go with the shocking, surprising pick that I don't love at all. Daniel Jones, quarterback out of Duke to New York Giants, number six overall. And surprisingly not, they're not going to trade back. They're not going to pick him at 17. Nope, they're going to take him at six overall. Number seven, Jawan Taylor, offense tackle.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I think Jawan Taylor is one of the more interesting names in this offensive line classroom because he's so inconsistent on tape, but I feel like a lot more NFL teams love him than I do. So I have him as the first tackle off the board here to the Jacksville Jaguars. I feel like TJ Hawkins would be a better pick for the Jaguars, but I feel like Jacksville desperately needs some offensive line help, and Jawan Taylor definitely goes away in fixing that. Number eight, the Detroit Lions. Correction, there's a trade here.
Starting point is 00:05:12 This is my first trade, so get ready for a couple of trades here in the next few picks. I think this is where the draft really starts to kick off in a dynamic way. I have the Detroit Lions trading out of the number eight spot. I have them falling back to number 11 with the Cincinnati Bengals. I have the Bengals get up their future first-round pick. They get Dwayne Haskins, the hometown kid out of Ohio State. Andy Dalton has won the two years. Haskins sits behind him for another year or two.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Then he takes over as the Bengals quarterback of the future. I think this makes too much sense. Zach Taylor needs his own quarterback. Andy Dalton really isn't that good. I have Dwayne Haskins and the Cincinnati Bengals at number eight overall in a trade-up with the Detroit Lions. Next on the board, the Buffalo Bills, but once more a trade. And I have the Washington Redskins moving from 15-9 to get Drew Locke, the quarterback, out of Missouri. Drew Locke is a really curious case for me as well.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I feel like he's hit or miss on a lot of games I watched. I feel like he's a typical Redskins quarterback. He's like a Jake Keller clone, in my opinion. Drew Locke, I could see him going to the Redskins. According to multiple reports, their owner Daniel Snyder is controlling the draft in the first round. So expect him to be very aggressive. If they don't get Dwayne Haskins, they end up with Drew Locke.
Starting point is 00:06:23 So Drew Locke, quarterback out of Missouri, number nine overall. Back-to-back picks and back-to-back trades with their Bengals and Redskins move up. The Denver Broncos, Devin Bush, linebacker out of Michigan. I think this is the best player available scenario for them. This is also a team that desperately needs a linebacker as well. They would love Devin White here. There's no way he's going to make it to 10. But Devin Bush, there's been a lot of smoke connecting the prospect to that team.
Starting point is 00:06:48 So I'm going to go with Devin Bush, the linebacker out of Michigan. So to wrap my top 10, we're going to number 11 overall. Kyler Murray to the Cardinals, Nick Bosa to the 49ers, Quinton Williams to the Jets, Devin White to the Raiders, Josh Allen to the Buccaneers, Daniel Jones to the Giants, Juwan Taylor to the Jaguars, Dwayne Haskins to the Bengals in a trade-up, Drew Locke to the Redskins in a trade-up, and Devin Bush to the Broncos. At number 11, once more, we have another trade-back. Three consecutive picks with a trade-back here, and I have Ed Oliver going to the Atlanta Falcons.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I have the Lions moving back once more. They were originally at eight. They moved back in the Dwayne Haskins trade. Then they moved back again here to number 14 as the Atlanta Falcons move up here to get Ed Oliver. They move up three spots, get a future pick, a couple future first round picks for Ed Oliver. I think it makes a lot of sense for them to go up and get a guy, Ken, pair him with Grady Jarrett. That's absolutely terrifying. And for me, as the Colts in their home opener, if they have to see Ed Oliver and Gray Jarrett on the same defensive line, that is a really scary proposition. But number 12 overall, Jonah Williams to the Green Bay Packers. I think this makes too much sense. They're going to take whoever the best offensive lineman is on the board, offensive tackle that is.
Starting point is 00:07:56 I feel like Jonah Williams is exactly that. Jonah Williams has the best offensive lineman in this draft class. I feel like I think the Jacksonville Jaguars are making a mistake if they take Jawan Taylor over Jonah Williams. But, hey, I'm not a Jaguars fan, so I'm not complaining there. I think Jonah Williams is going to be a Pro Bowl left tackle for the Green Bay Packers wherever he plays at, really. Guard, center, I think he's a very good prospect in the Green Bay Packers. Scoop him up here at number 12 overall.
Starting point is 00:08:19 And number 13, the Miami Dolphins, who, again, the fourth trade back here. This is the fourth trade in the last five selections. We have the Houston Texans moving from 23 to 13. They give up a future pick to get Andre Dillard, the offensive tackle out of Washington State, with Jonah Williams and Juwante off the board. The Texans have to make a move up at this point. Andre Dillard would not make it if this is how it goes. I think he might be off the board even earlier in this
Starting point is 00:08:47 if it wasn't for how the defensive guys felt. So I think the Texans have to make a move. Deshaun Watson might become a really injury-prone quarterback if they don't get him some offensive line help. So they move up here, sacrifice a little bit, and go get Andre Dillard, the offensive tackle out of Washington State here. So now we have, like I mentioned, number 8, number 9, number 11, number 13, all trades. So it's going to be a really crazy scenario here in Mock Draft 2.0
Starting point is 00:09:12 for you guys here in Locked on Colts. Number 15, this is where the Washington Redskins, they traded up to go get Drew Lock and I, the Buffalo Bills, and the Clock here. I have them selecting Christian Wilkins, who I originally would have them taking at number nine overall anyways. I think he fits a lot of the boxes. And I know for Colts fans, they're hoping that Christian Wilkins makes it to number 26 overall. But there's so much smoke around Christian Wilkins as far as being a top 15 prospect
Starting point is 00:09:37 that I don't see any way that he's on the board 26. And I am going off the board at number 15 overall in a trade back to the Buffalo Bills. Number 16, the Carolina Panthers. They're in a similar scenario as Houston. I feel like they really need some offensive line help. Luckily for them, the best offensive tackle is still on the board, Cody Ford out of Oklahoma. I feel like he makes a lot of sense. If Andre Dillard's not on the board, I think that's why the Texans scoop up in front of them
Starting point is 00:10:01 is because Andre Dillard makes a lot of sense in either Carolina or Minnesota. So I have Cody Ford, the next best offensive tackle, going to the Carolina Panthers at number 16 overall. Number 17, the New York Giants are back on the clock once more. And another head-scratching pick for them for me in mock draft 2.0, Rashawn Gary, defensive lineman out of Michigan. I feel like Rashawn Gary is one of the most overrated prospects in this draft class. The Colts met with him. I feel
Starting point is 00:10:26 like maybe they think he might be on the board 26 which is how his tape shows. Really as far as the Giants go, if they walk out of the first round with Daniel Jones and Rashawn Gary, that is rough. If you're a Giants fan out there, I feel sorry for you because that's a really bad draft in my opinion. But Rashawn Gary, number 17
Starting point is 00:10:42 overall in the New York Giants. Number 18, the Minnesota Vikings. They desperately need offensive line help. Whether it's interior or whether it's outside, they need something there. Garrett Bradbury, the center out of North Carolina State, makes the most sense for me there. If the offensive tackles are off the board, that could happen in this scenario. Garrett Bradbury from day one steps in as a starter for Minnesota. Whatever they do, they need offensive line help. Whoever the best offensive lineman is left on the board, that's who you should mock to the Minnesota Vikings.
Starting point is 00:11:09 That's what I'm doing here with Garrett Bradbury to the Minnesota Vikings, number 18 overall. Number 19, Jeffrey Simmons to the Tennessee Titans. I know this might seem like a reach to some people, but according to Matt Miller of NFL Drafts, I heard on this podcast today that he's heard from very heavy source states connected in Nashville that Jeffrey Simmons is one of their top choices there along with Hollywood Brown. I think Jeffrey Simmons makes a lot of sense for them though.
Starting point is 00:11:34 So I'm going to roll a dice here and go Jeffrey Simmons at 19 overall. I feel like he's not going to make the 26 either. He's just too talented of a prospect. If it was for his 20 ACL guys, he'd be a top 10, maybe top 5 pick. So I think Swin's going to roll the dice before they get to 26. And I think it's the division rival, the Colts, the Tennessee Titans, taking Jeffrey Simmons, the defense tackle out of Mississippi State, and number 19 overall.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Number 20, Rakia Sin. The first cornerback off the board is the guy who I ranked as my fourth cornerback on the board, Rakia Sin out of Temple. I feel there's been a lot of smoke connecting these two guys together, too, as far as prospect and team. Greedy Williams might make a lot more sense there, but I've seen some smoke about him falling on boards. So Rakia Sin, I'm going to go with the surprise pick once more
Starting point is 00:12:15 with him going off the board number 20 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Number 21, I know the Seahawks just traded Frank Clark less than 24 hours ago, so I'm going to give him an edge rusher, the best edge rusher left on the board, Brian Burns out of Florida State. I feel like he makes a ton of sense for what they need. They need a guy, like I said, that replaced Frank Clark from day one. I think Brian Burns has the potential in the ceiling to be a better Frank Clark, a better pass rusher.
Starting point is 00:12:38 So I'm giving Seattle a terrifying prospect, and Brian Burns could be a pro bowler, all pro in about three or four years, in my opinion. Number 22, maybe a surprise for some people because I haven't really heard a lot of round one smoke around this guy. Elchton Jenkins, the center out of Mississippi State. I feel like he's a guy who's kind of underrated on boards. I saw Daniel Jeremiah in his podcast. He's been mentioning a lot of people really like Elchton Jenkins. And he's a guy, if the offensive line has broke how it is,
Starting point is 00:13:05 if Garrett Bradbury is on the board, I feel like Baltimore is a smart team where they're not going to take a DK Metcalf. I think DK Metcalf is going to slip on a lot of boards because have you seen his three-cone times? I mean, he has a very cool physique, a very fast frame. But his three-cone time is worse than Tom Brady's. So I think he's a guy who is a hype machine. He's going to fall on some boards.
Starting point is 00:13:25 I don't think he's going to be picked in round one. Spoiler alert there. He's not going to be in this mock draft. But Elgin Jenkins, the center out of Mississippi State, is my pick at number 22 overall. I think he makes a lot of sense for them at offensive line, day one plug-and-play starter. Number 23, the Miami Dolphins.
Starting point is 00:13:40 They moved back 10 spots in that trade from earlier with the Houston Texans when they moved it for Andre Dillard. I had them getting the same guy that would have gotten a 13 overall. Montez Sweat, Elston Jenkins' teammate out of the Mississippi State. Montez Sweat ran a 4-4-1-40 at 260 pounds, which is terrifying
Starting point is 00:13:58 and terrifyingly impressive, and it's actually a really good pick for what they need to. Brian Flores worked with Trey Flowers in New England. He could see with Trey Flowers in New England. He could see a Trey Flowers 2.0, maybe a better version of him, with Montez Sweat. I think Sweat's going to fall on the board a little bit. I think he would have been a top 10 pick if it wasn't for his heart condition. But I don't see any way he's out of round one. I think he's a guy who will be there at 23,
Starting point is 00:14:19 and the Dolphins will scoop him up in that Trey back scenario because they know if they move back with a team like Houston, that Montez will still get on the board from a 23. So that's where he's going here to the Miami Dolphins. Number 24, easy pick for me. I really struggled with it earlier if you asked me 24 hours ago, but Josh Jacobs running back out of Alabama. I know he didn't visit Oakland, but Marshawn Lynch just retired about 12 hours ago.
Starting point is 00:14:40 This morning, he announced his retirement from the NFL again. I think Josh Jacobs is a better, really a huge upgrade over Marshall Lynch. He hasn't been good the last few years. And with them, they got Devin White at four overall, and you add Josh Jacobs to that fold as well. That's a really impressive hole so far. They have another pick at 27 too. But Josh Jacobs, I think you have to take a 24 for your Oakland
Starting point is 00:15:00 because either 25 the Eagles or 26 to Colton, I think they're going to take Josh Williams. Now, Josh Jacobs, excuse me. I feel like're going to take Josh Williams. No, Josh Jacobs, excuse me. I feel like really a lot of Coltons are against Josh Jacobs, but when you see teams like New Orleans, I know a lot of people are going to say they don't have a marking number anymore, but look back the last few years when they had a marking number with Alvin Kamara. They were a top-five rushing team.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Drew Brees conserved his arm. They were a top-five team on both sides of the ball. I feel like that's a good model to follow. But unfortunately for the Colts in this scenario, Jacobs is off the board at 24 to the Oakland Raiders. And that's where I'm going here in mock draft 2.0 today. Number 25, the Philadelphia Eagles were one pick away from the Colts at 26. I have a guy who I think would have been the pick for 26 for the Colts.
Starting point is 00:15:42 It wasn't for this selection here right now. Cleveland Farrell, the edge rusher out of Clemson. I've seen a lot of people say maybe wide receiver for them, maybe safety, but I feel like they're not the team that's going to start that safety run. I feel like the safety run is going to start maybe next pick, maybe a couple picks for later in the first round. But I think it's a little true to go safety right now. Cleveland Farrell is BPA, and he's a guy who could be a really good fit
Starting point is 00:16:02 for Philadelphia's system on defense as well. And they're getting a little old on the defensive line. So, Cleland Farrell, BPA, goes to the Philadelphia Eagles. And now we're officially on the clock now with the Annapolis Colts. The board broke a really interesting way. We have names like DK Metcalf on the board. We have Greedy Williams. We have Jonathan Abram, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Noah Fant, Chris Lindstrom.
Starting point is 00:16:25 There's a lot of good names here. a lot of good names, trust me. But for me, I'm going to go with Hollywood Brown. It might be suppressive for some Coltons out there, but for me it's not because I see T.Y. Hilton 2.0 with him. I know he's a very thin framer on 160, 170 pounds, but he's Deshaun Jackson, T.Y. Hilton-esque. If you add him into this offense, that is so exciting for me. If you have Marquise Brown out of the slot or the outside,
Starting point is 00:16:48 T.Y. Hilton out of the slot or the outside, these guys can be so versatile. You have Devin Funches as the big wide receiver on the outside. There's so many possibilities with a guy like Marquise Brown, guys. If you add Hollywood into the system, he's eventually T.Y.'s replacement, too, as their one receiver. You have two dogs like Frank Rex at the combine, I feel like, with Marquise Brown.
Starting point is 00:17:06 That's a really exciting playmaking group. If you add Marquise Brown into the fold with Devin Funches, T.Y. Hilton, Eric Ebron, Jack Doyle, Marlon Mack, that is exciting, guys. I'm going to go with Marquise Hollywood Brown, Oklahoma wide receiver at 26 overall, over names like Jonathan Abram and D.K. Metcalf. Because I think if Hollywood's on the board at 26 still, I think the Colts are going to go BPA. I don't think Chris Bauer would scare a take wide receiver at 26 if that's how the board fell too. So Hollywood Brown is your next NAPA Colton Mock Draft 2.0.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Number 27, the Oakland Raiders. Greedy Williams I have him taking here. I think Greedy Williams is a big guy. He slips out of round one. He's such a bad tackler, but his size, his speed makes him a round one prospect. The Raiders already went with Devin White and with Josh Jacobs, so they're back on the board. Go with the top corner and Greedy Williams of LSU,
Starting point is 00:17:55 which I think makes a lot of sense for them. Number 28, the Los Angeles Chargers, Dexter Lawrence. I think they're going to take here. I've seen Jerry Tillery. I've seen some other names like that. But I feel like Dexter Lawrence is getting slept on this process. I don't like his fit in Indianapolis, by the way. I don't really like him that much as a prospect. I feel like he's more in the 30-40 range for me compared to like 20s. I know Daniel Jeremiah's in his top 20,
Starting point is 00:18:16 top 15. I don't really see that, but Dexter Lawrence, I have him going here. They need an interior defense lineman in Los Angeles to go after Darius Bion left. I think Dexter Lawrence makes so much sense in that defense. So I'm going to have Dexter Lawrence, the Clemson nose tackle, going to the Los Angeles Chargers here at 28. Number 29, Jonathan Abram, the Mississippi State safety, who the Colts secondary coach worked out at his pro day, by the way. So don't be surprised if Jonathan Abram is the pick if that's how it goes. I think Jonathan Abram is a guy who could be Cam Chancellor 2.0 for the Seattle Seahawks. And for them, you have to make a pick if that's how it goes. I think Jonathan Abrams is a guy who could be camp chance of 2.0 for the Seattle Seahawks.
Starting point is 00:18:47 And for them, you have to make a pick like that. They're not going to trade back or trade up in this scenario. I think you go with Jonathan Abrams to pair with Brian Burns. I mean, imagine for those two picks, if you trade away Frank Clark, but you walk out of the first transfer night with Brian Burns and Jonathan Abrams. I mean, I hate to say it, guys, but if that's the case, I think the Seahawks won the draft in the first round because I think those two guys are top 15, top 20 prospects for me.
Starting point is 00:19:11 And getting those two guys together in Seattle is going to help remake that defense on the fly around Russell Wilson's new contract. So number 29 out of Jonathan Abram, the Mississippi State safety. Number 30, DK Metcalf. I was joking to you guys earlier. I wanted to see if you guys were on your toes a little bit as far as me saying he'd be out in round one. But he goes number 30 here to the Green Bay Packers. I think if he's on the board here at 30, there's no way he gets out in round one, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:19:34 He's just too much of a hype machine. Someone's going to trade for him. Either Green Bay is going to take him at 30, I feel like, because he's just such a freak talent. You have Aaron Rodgers throwing deep passes to DK Metcalf. You have other guys there like Devontae Adams who can do the dirty work inside. I feel like DK Metcalf is a guy who you have to take at 30 if you're the Green Bay Packers because the value could be so good there. He could be an all-pro if you use him correctly.
Starting point is 00:19:56 With Aaron Rodgers, if you can't get DK Metcalf to be a good prospect, then DK Metcalf is never going to work because that's the best quarterback in the NFL outside of my boy Andrew Luck, as you guys know here in Locked on Colts. But number 31, the Los Angeles Rams, Chris Lindstrom. I have them going interior offensive line here with Chris Lindstrom out of Boston College. They need some offensive line up. I think Austin Blythe, he is a starting guard for them, former Colt. I feel like Chris Lindstrom is such a huge upgrade over Austin Blythe.
Starting point is 00:20:23 There really isn't much to say on this pick. I have Chris Lindstrom from day one being a starter for the Super Bowl runner-ups, the Los Angeles Rams. And at number 32, I have Noah Fant, the tight end out of Iowa as the final pick in the first round. Noah Fant really is surprising in my mock draft here. I didn't really plan it that way for him to fall this far in the mock draft. I don't see the Colts taking Noah Fant, even though Doyle and Ebron are free agents. I don't see the Packers taking him if Deacon Neckoff's on the board.
Starting point is 00:20:52 So there's a possibility that Noah Fant could really slip on draft night. And lucky for the Patriots because, oh my, if you give Noah Fant in New England to replace Rob Gronkowski, then that's really scary because Noah Fanky did a guy who's a pro bowler, he's a rookie in New England's tight end heavy system, and that'd be just really bad to see Bill Belichick get a guy like Noah Fanky, but that's how it broke in the mock draft 2.0. You have Noah Fanky, Iowa tight end,
Starting point is 00:21:17 going to New England Patriots, who TJ Hawkinson earlier, his teammate out of Iowa, the tight end as well, went number 14 overall. So you have two guys out of Iowa, the tight end as well, went number 14 overall. So you have two guys out of Iowa in the same position going into the first round. Pretty darn impressive there. But number 33, we're on to the two picks I'm going to cover in the second round for you guys. I'm going to go with wide receiver Nikhil Harry. According to John Gamadoro, the Arizona sports reporter out here,
Starting point is 00:21:40 he said that there's a 95% chance that if Nikhil Harry's on the board, the Cardinals are going to take him. He's out of Arizona State as a local kid. I think they need a wire seeker pretty badly. If they go Kyler Murray at one, Nick Kielherry at 33, that's how you win the draft locally in Arizona. And that's a really dominating duo as well. If you put Nick Kielherry in that offense with Kyler Murray, Cliff Kingsbury, David
Starting point is 00:22:00 Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, that's an exciting group there in Arizona. That'd be really exciting to watch with those two guys paired up together. If they do go Kyler at one, then Nikhil Harry out of Arizona State at 33. And at number 34 for you guys, we're back on the clock, Annapolis Colts, and this might make you guys do some backflips here because this is how it broke for me. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, the safety out of Florida, is my pick here. I was thinking about going with Jerry Tillery,
Starting point is 00:22:25 but I feel like they need to do a safety early in this draft because I was very, very close to going Jonathan Naderbrough at 26. But I feel like Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is the next best safety after that. And if you go with Marquise Brown on round one and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in round two, early round two, then that is a very good idea for me, in my opinion, because you have two guys who could be probable talents. That could be a possibility where the Colts, once again,
Starting point is 00:22:49 win the draft pretty big with those two guys, Hollywood Brown and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. If we're going to 59 for a second, some names to watch there, I think you have to go interior defense line at that point. Taylor is off the board. LJ Carter is off the board. I think some names to watch there if not would be Charles O'Minohue, Tristan Hill out of UCF is another name to watch there. I think those are two names you should really be paying attention to as well.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Ronell Wren out of Arizona State. So if they do go Marquise Hollywood Brown, the wire serial Oklahoma 26, then they go back at 34 to Chauncey Gardner Johnson out of Florida, then I think you have to go a tier difference line like I mentioned there. Those three names, Rone Reniber is in the state. Then you also have Trisnell at UCF and Charles Amenehu out of Texas. Those are three names to watch 59. Then for me at 89, I would go with a playmaker like a Miles Boykin on Notre Dame
Starting point is 00:23:35 or a Terry McLaurin or a Paris Campbell of Ohio State, Debo Samuel. I don't think those guys would be on the board there. I don't think Debo's on the board there. But someone like Terry McLaurin or Miles Boykin, I think it makes so much sense for them at 59, or 89, excuse me. So, writing things up here on Mock Draft 2.0. Appreciate you guys listening in.
