Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, everybody, and welcome into Locked On Colts, part of the Locked On Podcast Network. Today, as always, your host, Evan Sidery. I'm actually going solo once again today. I think it's the second time in the last few weeks I've done that, but it's for a very good reason. I'm going to answer all your guys' questions from my Twitter account over at LockedOnColts.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Give us a follow over there if you haven't already, guys, at LockedOnColts. We very much appreciate it. So we're back with you guys today to answer all your Twitter questions you guys submitted on our Twitter mailbag. A lot of awesome responses which I really appreciate, guys. We've got 15 questions. A lot of multiple
Starting point is 00:00:32 part questions, too, so this might be a very thorough episode. Before I go into that, though, I want to tell you guys, I was doing some quick research this morning, and do you know what I found out? I found out that GM Chris Ballard has had 10 picks in the first two rounds, in the top 65 in the last three draft that GM Chris Ballard has had 10 picks in the first two rounds in the top 65 in the last three drafts.
Starting point is 00:00:48 No other team has had at least eight except the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You want to count the Browns, they had nine, but they've already cut two guys since then. Pretty incredible what Chris Ballard is doing, and I think he's running circles around GMs around this league compared to the draft, because when you see teams like the Saints, who only had four picks in the last three years in the top 65 the Rams who only had two picks in the top 65 in the last three years you see those two teams you see how their window is closing pretty fast I think the Rams are going to be really out of it here in a couple years because it's not sustainable what they're doing with their draft right now you have two picks in the top 65
Starting point is 00:01:22 in the last three draft years keep going win win now, win now, win now. But Chris Bauer is showing he's continuously patient, getting 10 picks in the top 65 like Quentin Nelson, Lee Cook, or Quincy Wilson. I can go on and on and on. There's so much great talent. Darius Leonard as well. I can't forget about defensive rookie of the year. But so much talent that Chris Bauer brought on this team in such little time.
Starting point is 00:01:42 And you add in it once more. He had three picks in the second round this year to add to that litter, which was Paris Campbell at 59, Ben Banigou at 49, and Rocky Asin at 34. So 10 picks in the top 65 in three years is really, really impressed by Chris Bauer. But let's dive into your first question, guys. I appreciate everyone chiming in today. This is really awesome stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:02 The first question was actually from Dijon Indy, Doug S. Appreciate your question, Doug. It's a multi-part question, so I'm going to go into a little bit of detail for each one here. How do you see the Colts, YRC, or DevChart shaking out? And for that, I think it's interesting because I think it all depends on what Deion Kane's health is because I think if Deion Kane is healthy, he's going to be the fourth YRC, but he's kind of a slow recovery. I believe Chester Rahr is going to be in that spot. But I think right now the first five guys on this list, which are going down from starter to bench roll,
Starting point is 00:02:34 T.Y. Hilton, Devin Funches as the opposite receiver, Paris Campbell as your flexible spot receiver. Then you have Deion Kane, if he's healthy, as your fourth receiver. Chester Rahr as your fifth receiver, as your returner as well. Then six gets interestingion Kane, if he's held as your fourth receiver. Chester Rahr is your fifth receiver as your returner as well. Then six gets interesting, though, guys. There's so much interesting names who can make that final spot, like Zach Paschal, who was a key contributor last year, the last part of the season.
Starting point is 00:02:55 You also have Undrecht Fried, who we'll get into later, Penny Hart, National Duel, and I'm really intrigued by it. I think the Colts are really intrigued by it, too. I think those are the names you should watch. Marcus Johnson, as well, a trade with the Eagles last year. Those four guys, four or five guys, will be fighting for one spot there. So some really great competition
Starting point is 00:03:11 that Chris Bowers brought on board in the last few years, and it's showing up now in training camp. We're going to have one of the deepest rushes we've seen out of the Colts since the pulling error. I think that's pretty safe to say, because Ryan Grigson, as we all know, did not do a good job evaluating and finding talent outside of the Lucking and the Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton in 2012. But really interesting stuff there. I think Ashton Doolin
Starting point is 00:03:31 could be a guy to watch for there. But I think ultimately, if we're going to pick a guy for that sixth spot, I believe it is going to be an undrafted free agent. I believe Zach Paschal is a guy who was a key contributor, like I said, last year. But I think he's very replaceable. If you had a guy like Penny Hurt who can return kicks or Ashton Doohan who is an underrated guy in those aspects, I think those are two guys you should definitely watch out for. But the first five, T.Y.,
Starting point is 00:03:54 Funchess, Paris Campbell, Deion Kane, and Chester Rires. You can flip around Chester and Deion however you want there at the 4-5, but those first five spots are pretty sealed and signed sealed at this point. That sixth spot, though, that's going to be a dogfight to make that roster spot, and I think it's going to be really fun to see how that shakes out. Thanks again for your question, Doug. Our next one is from Sal Lombardi.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Kind of a funny one here. Why are the Titans fans the way that they are? It is an interesting question you asked, Sal, because the Titans fans, they're very, very vocal. If I got this right, they kind of faked the poll as well as far as buying votes for a Twitter thing. With Fox Sports against the Buffalo Bills, against the Colts as well, they're buying votes for that. Kind of ridiculous. But when you see the Titans have won less than 10 games against the Colts in the last 17 years, it kind of speaks for itself there.
Starting point is 00:04:44 If you take out the injuries of Curtis Painter and Jacoby Bursette as well, those two guys, they've won five times against the Colts when they played against Peyman and Andrew Luck. They haven't won once against Andrew Luck yet in their career. So I think it kind of speaks for itself, Sal, and everyone else because the Titans are kind of an organization that doesn't really have much to say right now because you have Marcus Mariota, who could be a guy,
Starting point is 00:05:03 if he doesn't perform this year, they're going to have to do some quarterback searching next year. It could be in the two-on. As far as the Titans fans go, I would hate to be one because that's a rough, rough outing right now. Next question from Jack J at underscore Jack Johnson underscore. Lots of good corners in the roster. Who are the five or six guys that we retain? Interesting question, Jack. Thanks for the question. I think it's really intriguing what the Colts have done this offseason
Starting point is 00:05:29 as far as the defensive back room. You added in Rakia Sen and Marvell Tell, Arcel Curry, Wilson, safety. But moving Marvell Tell from safety to corner, it makes it very interesting because I think Tell is a versatile guy. You could really mold around as far as a linebacker safety corner.
Starting point is 00:05:46 He could be like a jack-of-all-trades. I think the first comparison I thought of when I saw Marvell Till on tape was Mark Barron, who is now with the Steelers as a linebacker. I think he could be like that Dion Buchanan, that kind of smallish linebacker, just all-or-placed, jack-of-all-trades, very versatile on the field.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I think Marvell Till is going to be a fifth corner on this team, And you go up the board there, I think you have a lot of depth there. Once again, I think depth is going to be the key of this episode because Chris Bauer has done an amazing job in the last two or three years to build up this roster the way it is. But you have Pierre Desir. I think Rakia Sen is going to be on
Starting point is 00:06:17 Quincy Wilson and camp for that second corner spot. So I'll go with Rakia Sen as the opposite of Pierre Desir. Kenny Moore, his nickel spot is really secure at this point. Then you have Quincy Wilson as your fourth corner. Then you go Marvell Tell as your fifth corner. But then from there, it's between three guys again for one spot. And it's Nate Harrison, Jalen Collins, and you also have Chris Milton, the special teams ace on the team.
Starting point is 00:06:42 So it's all going to depend on if Jalen Collins or Nate Harrison want to play special teams because if they're not good special teams players, Chris Milton is going to make this roster as a sixth corner. He's been making the roster for the last three or four years because he's such a good special teams player. I'm not going to count Chris Milton at this point, guys. I think Jalen Collins is an interesting diamond in the rough trying to mold him, but I feel like Chris Milton, he's a guy who has no issues on the team. He does what he does, does his job. I think Chris Millen is your sixth cornerback there, so Milton, Tell, Wilson, Moore, Yassin,
Starting point is 00:07:14 and Desir is going to be your sixth corners on the roster this year, I believe. But if Jalen Collins and Nate Harrison prove to play such teams at a high level like Chris Millen, then that's awesome, because that means that they're improving the team. But our next question is actually about Jalen Collins. Will he make the team? And that's from Colfan84 at Logatk. And as far as that goes, I kind of answered the last question there, but I think Jalen Collins is going to be the dogfight
Starting point is 00:07:38 with Chris Millen for that final spot. If Jalen Collins wants to make this roster, guys, he's going to have to really prove he can play special teams because you're going to have to make this team as a fifth or sixth cornerback Jalen Collins. I know he was a day two pick, or I believe he was a day two pick a couple years ago, just flamed out in Atlanta, didn't do well there, had some character issues. But being on the practice squad there, I believe if Jalen Collins does not make this team, that he will make the practice squad still. But I wouldn't count on that because I could easily see a team just poaching a lot of the Colts players this year
Starting point is 00:08:07 because of what Chris Ballard's done to this roster. But I think if I had to say yes or no right now, Colt fan 84, I would say no. I think that he's got to prove over Chris Millen he's a better special teams guy. I don't think anyone outside of Nate Harrison and Jalen Collins could really beat out Chris Millen right now. So he's going to be that sixth cornerback, and Jalen Collins is going to be on the practice squad or somewhere else by, I think, August. Next question here from Daryl Bleed Blue Smith. Appreciate your question, Daryl.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Appreciate the support you've already shown me so far in the podcast. Out of the 10 draft picks, how many of them make the team? Interesting question, Daryl. I believe that actually, I don't know if it's going to sound too ambitious, but I believe all 10 are going to make the team, guys. I believe that really if you add in those two offensive line pieces, those are the two guys I'd watch for as far as not making the team. That's Javon Patterson and Jackson Barton.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I believe one of those guys could be cut, one of them could make the practice squad, but this offensive line, you need depth still. Chris Bowers talked about it so many times. You need eight or nine guys on that front line in case injuries happen, which they always do on the offensive line guys. So I don't want to knock on wood here, knock on my computer, so to say, but I really hope that no injuries happen there, but you need at least eight or nine guys there. And with the offensive line emphasis that Colts have had under Chris Fowler, under Frank Reich, bringing Howard Mudd, bringing Chris Strasser,
Starting point is 00:09:21 I think you're going to need eight or nine guys. I think Patterson and Jackson Burton make this team. I'm going to go in Vicious Darrell and the rest of our listeners. I'm going to go with all ten make our team, but realistically, I would not be surprised if it's just nine. I believe at least nine make this roster going forward. Our next question from Tyler Ward at
Starting point is 00:09:39 TMoneyCulture. Not an easy question, but what is your best pro comparison for Rakia Sin? To me, he's a less polished Tredavis White. Interesting question, Tyler. I believe, for me, it kind of came up with Chad Forbes, who's at NFL Draft Bites on Twitter. The comparison he threw out to me on the show right after the draft was Byron Jones at the Cowboys corner, and it makes too much sense to me because, I mean, he's less athletic than Byron Jones was, but he makes a foreign physicality, makes a foreign character.
Starting point is 00:10:07 And I think you see those long, long corners. Byron Jones is 6'1". I believe Rakia Sin's also 6'1". You need to have those guys who can play press man, who can play zone, who can be versatile in that aspect. I believe Rakia Sin is a more polished Byron Jones. I think that he could be a guy who steps in from day one, not really shuts down guys, so to say, but really like Pierre Desir just puts the clamps on him when need be and is a sure tackler.
Starting point is 00:10:34 He's not going to lay anybody really past him. I think a staffer, Dane Brugler, the athletic that I saw, that really stood out to me. Rakia Sen only allowed one completion of 20 yards or more, and it was over 50 or 60 times he was thrown against in that aspect. And the only corner in this draft class per Dane Brugler, the athlete who was on the show last month, pretty incredible number there. I think Rakia Sen has very high upside, especially going to the cold system where player development
Starting point is 00:10:59 is so key. So I believe that Rakia Sen, if I had to make a comparison, it's really tough like you said, Tyler, but I think Byron Jones of the Cowboys is a very solid one, and shout out to Chad Forbes for initially making that one for me last month. But the next question, Nick Mielo, excuse me if I'm mispronouncing that, Nick, I believe
Starting point is 00:11:17 it's Mielo or Mialo. Undrafted free agent you're most excited about, I think makes the roster. I kind of gave this away a little bit earlier, guys, but I think Penny Hart. I think he's going to be a guy who takes Zach Paschal's spot as a returner in punts and in kicks. I think Chester Rogers does punts,
Starting point is 00:11:34 but as far as kick returning goes, I think Penny Hart does take Zach Paschal's spot because Hart, even though he did not do well in his prote or combine, in the senior bowl he ran routes really well. He's a good returner. He's fast on tape, at least. So I think if it wasn't Penny Hurt, I would go Ashton Dewan.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I think those two guys have been the ones I brought most. But if there's one under the radar, one that I really like, guys, it's Sterling Shippey, the nose tackle out of Alcorn State. They need more big bodies in there. Shippey, I believe, is around 320. Put him next to River Stewart. I think you need some of those bigger body guys. They haven't still gotten one yet.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Sterling Shippey is a guy you should watch because he had eight sacks last year. Very disruptive for Alcorn State. So if I had to pick between those three guys, it would be Sterling Shippey. It would also be Ashton Doolin and Penny Hart. But I believe most realistically it would be Penny Hart. Makes the team because of his kick returning capabilities. Next question, guys. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:12:23 This is a very fun one so far. We have a lot more questions here. But Sam Greibel at Sam Greibs asks, do you think Kamoko Ture has a breakout season? His constant work with Robert Mathis all offseason looks like he'll pay dividends. He looks so smooth and quick. I'm totally there with you, Sam.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I think Kamoko Ture is a guy who's flying under the radar now because we just took Ben Banigou. But luckily, as Chris Bauer really told us in his post-draft press conference, Ben Banigou is going to be playing a linebacker role. I'd guess to say it's more like a Bruce Irvin Seattle kind of role, where he's a jack-of-all-trades at linebacker and defensive end. Once past our situations, he'll put his hand in the dirt. But outside of that, he's going to be really a monster all over the field,
Starting point is 00:13:02 just running around trying to get guys like Darius Leonard. I feel like with Banu playing Sam now, you have the capabilities of playing Kamoko Ture in pass-through situations alongside Justin Houston. You can move Justin Houston inside. I don't think this is being talked about enough, but I think Justin Houston, if you move him inside, that's a really smart idea on some pass-through situations
Starting point is 00:13:21 because he's a very disruptive force as a three-tech. There's some tape out there last season where he moved Houston inside and some guard and centers cannot block him. So if you could use Kimoko Ture on the outside and Justin Houston on the inside, not all the time, but in just some situations, that'd be really fun to see. But you see Kimoko Ture, he's really buying in as far as the mentorship of Robert Mathis, the mentorship of Justin Houston, which is going to be a big thing for the next few years. I'm not sleeping on Kamoko Ture. I don't think you guys should either because he flashed a lot last year.
Starting point is 00:13:50 That Bills game was really fun to see when he had that spin move and he'd get that strip sack on Derek Anderson, who just retired this week. But Kamoko Ture is an interesting name you guys should watch for because all of a sudden that Chris Bauer, like I keep saying, he's built up so much talent on this team, so much depth the front seven where Kamoka Ture is not gonna be a starter next year he's gonna be a very key rotational piece that's gonna be Justin Houston's backup I'm very excited about him I think that one or two years down the line once Justin Houston's out the door he's gonna be stepping in as that pass rush edge rusher who's on the field for every every down so
Starting point is 00:14:23 to say alongside of Ben Banigou with Darius Leonard, and Bobby Okurike. I think those guys make up the future of Colts defense. I think Kimoko Ture should not be slept on. I think he's got a big year, so to say, as far as a rotational piece. I think he's going to have around four to five sacks and a roll around playing 30% to 40% of the snaps on game day, which I think is ideal for Kimoko Ture right now. But yeah, Sam, I would not sleep on Kamoka Torreira.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I think he's going to have a breakout season where he's in a rotational piece role, getting around four to five sacks. Next question here from Night King at Juices Loose 52. Any concern at the right side of the offensive line? In that playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City lined up Ford and Houston over Glowinski and Braden Smith
Starting point is 00:15:05 and got a ton of pressure on Locke. My concern is teams who watch the tape may see something they exploit. Hopefully Howard Mudd can make some changes. Night King, as far as that goes, I think that I'm trusting Howard Mudd. I'm trusting Chris Strasser on this. I'm trusting Frank Reich and Chris Bauer because they replaced Dave DiGlobiamo. There were some issues there that I think were right to do as far as what Frank Reich did, replacing him with Chris Drosser and Frank Mudd.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Excuse me, not Frank Mudd, Howard Mudd. But as far as technique goes, that's the main thing you should focus on, guys, because Howard Mudd is a huge technician. If you guys don't know who he is, he was around during my heyday with the Colts when I watched him almost every week. I was there in person with seeing tickets. I still have seen tickets, but I'm not there each game right now just because of school and stuff. But I think when you see stuff like that, when you see how technical Howard Mudd is with guys like Ryan Lulja,
Starting point is 00:15:57 with Ryan Dean back in the day, Jeff Sarada, that's what you guys should think of. You have Anthony Costanzo, you have Quentin Nelson, Ryan Kelly, Mark Lewinsky, Braden Smith. Those are your five guys hoping for the next three to five years in the offensive line. You're not going to make any changes. Maybe you draft a left tackle of the future, so to say. I don't think, personally, Jackson Barton is a left tackle of the future to replace Anthony Costanzo. But I think those five guys are the ones that are going to make up the offensive line for the next really short-term window. The Colts had to make a run on multiple Super Bowls, which Jim Ursa and Chris Bauer had both been saying.
Starting point is 00:16:26 But I think I'm trusting Howard Mudd on this, guys. I'm not going to really say anything else on this because I think Howard Mudd is a great coach. I think Howard Mudd is going to be an upgrade over Dave DiGiuglielmo. But Nike, you mentioned their D4 in Justin Houston, but Kansas City, they also just lost D4 in Justin Houston. Justin Houston is now a Colt. D4 got traded Houston, but Kansas City, they also just lost D4 and Justin Houston. Justin Houston is now a Colt. D4 got traded to the 49ers. For some reason,
Starting point is 00:16:48 the Chiefs decided to trade a first-round pick for Frank Clark and more. They replaced Justin Houston and D4 with just Frank Clark. I think Kansas City has some really weird moves this offseason, guys. I think they're going to take a step back this year, and that's going to be really helpful for a team like the Colts who are looking
Starting point is 00:17:04 to continuously ascend and not really shortcut, so to say. Next question from SpaceGhost at SidoVag. Will Eric Ebron break the touchdown record this year? Well, that's what Ebron said. He wants to do that. Robert Aronkowski has the record right now with 17. Eric Ebron wants to get 17 or 18. That's going to be a tall task, guys, because I personally don't think he'll get that. I think he'll get around 8 or 9 or 10.
Starting point is 00:17:27 That's probably more realistic this year with how many weapons they added in. If they still had the same team they had last year, guys, with no Devin Funchess, with no additional help at running back, with no additional help with Paris Campbell, yeah, I would say 18 is realistic. But you guys need to feed all the weapons you can. Maybe Jack Doyle gets hurt again. Knock on wood, he doesn't get hurt again because I want to see more Doyle and Ebron together, but I think you need to spread the wealth around. I think Eric Ebron knows that as well. I think
Starting point is 00:17:53 he's just saying that to have personal goals. I really don't think he gets close to that. I think he's going to have around eight, nine, or ten touchdowns. I think Paris Campbell is going to have a lot of touchdowns. T.Y. is going to have a lot of touchdowns. Bunch is going to have a lot of touchdowns. I think this offense, guys, reminds me a of touchdowns. T.Y. is going to have a lot of touchdowns. Funches is going to have a lot of touchdowns. I think this offense, guys, reminds me a little bit of 2004, where it could be a year where Peyton Manning goes for about 40 or 50 touchdowns. And he has Stokely, you have Marvin, you have Reggie all going for at least 10 touchdowns. I could see a year like that with Ebron getting 10, T.Y. with 12, and Funches or Campbell with 10. I could easily see something like that because this offense is so dangerous this year. There's so many weapons. I've tweeted this before on the Locked On Colts account.
Starting point is 00:18:29 No one's going to see double coverage this year, guys. No one is. Literally no one's going to see double coverage and that's going to be so exciting to see because Eric Ebron's not going to see doubles. TY's not going to see doubles. Paris Campbell has 431 speed and will never see a double team, guys. Devin Funches, his 6'4 height is never going to see a double team, guys. Devin Funches, his 6'4 height, is never going to see a double team. Why? Because we have all these weapons around Andrew Luck, guys. It's exciting. It's really exciting the more I talk about it because this offense reminds me of the heydays of Peyton Manning, of Marvin, of Reggie. I'm not going to put that on them just yet, but there's
Starting point is 00:19:00 capabilities. There's possibilities of this team really being one of the most dangerous offense that we've seen in a long time in Colts franchise history. So I'm very excited about that. I don't think Eric Ebron does get that touchdown record. But I think spreading the wealth with Andrew Luck, who's going to be, by the way, the MVP candidate. I don't know the exact odds as far as Vegas goes,
Starting point is 00:19:19 but I would lay down a lot of money on Andrew Luck being the MVP this year because with all these weapons, with the offensive line he has, with the defense improving even more, this Colts team is going to be really fun this year, guys. I cannot wait for it. Next one here from Steve the Realist. If you had to cut or set one starter from last season, who would it be and why? Ooh, that is a tough one, Steve.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I think for me, I would go with Clayton Gathers. Now, I know that might be kind of a controversial one, but I'm really high on Corey Willis. I believe Corey Willis could be a guy who beats out Clayton Gathers for his job, maybe in training camp, but I think more so in the middle of the season, like October, maybe early November, that Corey Willis gets more and more snaps progressively as we go, because Corey Willis was a guy where they're going to take an 8-9. They're considering Bobby Okereke or Kari Willis 8-9. They traded up 20 spots in the fourth round
Starting point is 00:20:07 at the beginning of round four to get Kari Willis. So they obviously value this guy. They value him in their locker room. They value him on their team. And as Bobby Willis and Terrence Willis told us on our podcast with Kari's 360 we did last week, the more I see him, the more I just see a guy who's a perfect
Starting point is 00:20:23 cook or a perfect box safety that's more versatile than that. He can be a dime guy. He can be a nickel guy. He can play on rundowns and pass downs. If Clayton Gathers gets hurt one time this season, I'll be bold here and say this. If Clayton Gathers gets hurt one time this season, I think Curry Willis will start one game, and he'll never get that starting job back. I think if Clayton Gathers gets hurt one time this year, Corey Wolfe's never getting that spot back.
Starting point is 00:20:45 So if I had to say, I would say Clayton Gathers, and I think Corey Wolfe is a guy who's going to give him a really big run for his money in training camp and in preseason and in the regular season. If Clayton Gathers goes down with an injury, Corey Wolfe's going to be a starter from then on out. I'm pretty confident in saying that. Next question from M10 at M101001. I like Clayton Gathers, I really do, but do you see the Colts pick up safety Cam Chancellor after being released Thursday to possibly
Starting point is 00:21:11 replace Gathers over this coming season? M, no I do not. Cam Chancellor has not played in the NFL in the last year or so, just with injuries piling up on him. I think that's why the Seahawks did that as well. They also cut Doug Baldwin because those guys are always injured. I think both guys are going to retire, by the way. I don't see how either of them are going to be in the NFL next year, especially a Cam Chancellor too, guys. He's been hurt so many times. He's a great leader. Ed Dodds knows him, but that'll just not be smart in my mind. You just drafted Curry Willis. You just traded up for him. You moved 20 spots in the fourth round for him.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Focus on Curry Willis, guys. Don't focus on any more free agents with the safety position. Have strong safety because I think people are going to realize very quickly that Curry-Willis is the strong safety of the future next to Malik Hooker, and those two guys are going to be really fun together. I would keep an eye on Curry-Willis. I would stop focusing on free agency. Maybe if one comes up down the road and Curry-Willis disappoints, we'll see, but I'm pretty confident in saying that no more free agency as far as the position are going to be coming in any time soon. And Curry-Willis will be the eventual replacement of Clayton Gathers sooner than we might think.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And we're looking through here at the questions, guys. This has been really fun. There's a lot more questions here. There's actually a couple more here. Which position vows are you most looking forward to or think will be the most intense in camp preseason? And that's from Nelson's IHOP at KLP 39519. Nelson's IHOP, by the way, that's a really good name. Which vows are you most looking forward to, most intense? Oh, that is a tough one.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I think the six spot at corner, the six spot at wide receiver, those are really positions that as far as wide out in corner that you should definitely watch out for. Kari Willis, I'm going to keep bringing him up because I think he's a guy who Colts fans should really be paying attention to right now. He's going to be a guy who gives clean getters a run for his money. I will say safety. So that's wide receiver, cornerback, safety. The front seven too. I mean, could Jabal Shearer take a step back? I don't think he could. I don't think he will, but maybe some of those young guys like Tyquan Lewis or Kamoko Ture gives him a run for his money,
Starting point is 00:23:10 and maybe he takes a step back like a John Simon last year. It's a surprise veteran cut. But I feel like those are the ones you should watch out for, the most intense. The corner, is Rakia Singh going to beat out Quincy Wilson? Who's going to make the jump as far as wide receivers? Paris Campbell is going to light the world on fire and be the number two receiver for Devin Funches. It could happen. There's so many scenarios with this roster. It's so fluid. You could have Jahad Ward even play a lot of snaps to share a defense tackle.
Starting point is 00:23:36 There's a lot of depth all over this team. That's what has me super excited. I could answer your question about four or five different ways because this team is so stacked right now. Their 90-man roster has a lot of talent on it. Then you have also Spencer Ware coming at running back. Who's going to make that running back list? That's another one to get out on there. Is Spencer Ware going to make Jordan Wilkins expendable?
Starting point is 00:23:57 Another interesting stuff I'll let you guys watch for there. But there's four or five or six positions that I could really say for this question, which says a lot about this team. If we were under Ryan Gregson two years ago, this would be a question where I could, I don't know which ones I could really say for this question, which says a lot about this team. If we were under Ryan Grixen two years ago, this would be a question where I could, I don't know which ones I could say. It'd be very few and far between. But even last year too, just shout out to Chris Bauer, guys. I mean, he's done such a great job
Starting point is 00:24:16 building this team up from the ground up. How horrible they were with Ryan Grixen, how bad the roster was in, the shape they were in. To have it where it is now in less than two and a half, three years is incredible. It speaks to Chris Ballard. It speaks to the Colts organization, what they're doing now. It's fun to have it back on track. There was a two- or three-year lull there where it was really like plateauing under Grigson,
Starting point is 00:24:37 but luckily Chris Ballard comes in, shakes it all up, gets all the red guys in the right place, and we have the Colts back where they are. Usually they've been the last 10 to 20 years, which is up at the top of the NFL standings. But this looks like the last question, guys. I appreciate everyone coming on. And until then, we'll talk to you guys on Monday for next episode. We're going to be talking more about our draft prospects.
