The Indianapolis Colts offensive line and quarterback Daniel Jones need a slight recalibration heading into the bye week.
Let's get to it.
You are Locked-on Colts, your daily Indianapolis Colts podcast, part of the Locked-on Podcast Network, your team every day.
Hello, everyone.
My name is Zach Hickshaw resident film nerd of Horsu Huddle.com.
and I'm joined, as always, by Jake Arthur,
the boots on the ground for roundtable sports.
Welcome to Lockdown Colts, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network,
the number one sports podcast network around.
Today's episode is brought to you by Fandul.
Right now, new customers can bet just $5.
And if your first bet wins,
you'll get $300 in bonus bets to use across the app.
Today we have an action-packed Q&A episode for you guys.
We're going to dive into all the questions you guys had
about Daniel Jones and the offensive line.
weeks because that's really the hot topic right now in Coltsland.
Then we're going to dive into some offseason stuff.
You guys love looking ahead, even though we're in the middle of this eight and two
season.
We're going to talk about like, can the Colts afford a bunch of these guys, which we always
talk about and stuff like that.
And then we're going to get into some fun questions at the end, some minor rapid
fire stuff that Jake is going to lead the way in that final segment.
But first, Jake, let's talk all about Daniel Jones and the offensive line.
The stats have not been super pretty.
recently, just in terms of pass protection, turnovers, taking sacks.
Like, it has not been the prettiest function right now.
They've given up a lot to two really good defenses to add some extra clarity,
but it has kind of been an issue the last two weeks.
Yeah, without question.
I mean, loads of sacks, pressures, QB hits, it's leading to turnovers.
And the defense really has had to carry the way throughout these couple games.
Now, it didn't wind up going their way against.
Pittsburgh last week, the offense was able to kind of put things together a little bit more and
bring it to overtime and help get to win. But yeah, I think it's just, I think everyone's just
kind of baffled because it's just such a stark difference. You go from this buzzsaw offense
that's operating, hitting on all cylinders, they're scoring a million points a game, they're still
scoring points. But the efficiency is crazy. They're converting third downs. They're doing a lot in the
red zone they're not turning the ball over at all they're not getting sack and now all of a sudden
like every self-inflicted wound you could kind of create on offense is happening and so i think
i don't even know that it has to go back to that like crazy pace that they were at in the first
several weeks just something in the middle between what we've seen the last couple weeks and the way
you were just boat racing some of these teams something in the middle would be nice i think yeah yeah
for sure and that kind of just goes into our first question we have here just questions around issues
with daniel jones who is he uh how do we get him back to what he's been this year or are we seeing
like a regression and we kind of talked about this on yesterday's show like is he turning into like
into the pumpkin you know like to bring in the cinderella reference here is he uh as the clock struck
midnight on daniel jones and i don't think that's really the case i think we're still seeing
some high level throws from him there were uh two or three in particular in this past game especially
the last one to Tyler Morn was a high-level throw from him.
He had one in-breaking one to Alec Pierce with a defender in his face against manned coverage,
I thought was really good.
So I don't think we're really seeing him regress.
We've just seen him be a little bit more panicky in the pocket the last couple weeks.
And there have been a couple scrambles that shouldn't have been scrambles that probably
should have been throws to receivers, a couple sacks where you could have got the ball out,
a couple turnovers that he could have avoided by getting two hands on the football.
So, yeah, kind of a rough stretch for him.
But I don't think he's been like this atrocious quarterback either.
Like the Colts are still moving the football.
They're still having productive gains.
We just got to get the turnover problem under control.
And really, for me, it's just the fumbling issue.
The interceptions, you know, if you look at each interception, one was like,
kind of like a Hail Mary before the half to Alec Pierce in this past game.
You go to the Steelers game.
One was the linebacker was in a weird coverage spot.
racing was weird. Another one was a tipped RPO pass that got taken up, that got intercepted by
alignment. You know, those things are, I don't think, really sustainable. I don't think they're
big issues. So I'm not terribly concerned about the interception issue. The fumbles are really the
biggest thing with Jones. If he can just mitigate those going forward, I'm not terribly
concerned with how he's looked the last two weeks. Like take out the fumbles and I think he's played
decent football. We can't just ignore the fumbles, but I think that's an easier fix than
saying like, oh my gosh, the offense can't move the ball now.
They have moved the ball pretty well.
It's just let's get the fumbles under control and I think we'll be fine.
Yeah, I mean, they had 500 yards, over 500 yards of offense last week.
And then they outpaced Pittsburgh by about 150 yards the week before.
So like the offense is still productive.
It's just ending in turnovers rather than points.
And we probably had a dozen or so questions about Daniel Jones.
So I can't single anyone out really on who asked that.
but we'll roll into this next one from Jason Sanders.
What percentage of blame of the sacks and turnovers would you assign to the
offensive line and quarterback, which is a good question because I think they've worked
pretty well hand in hand.
Now, as far as Daniel Jones goes, you know, the interceptions, we're seeing, like,
I do think there's some stuff just naturally built into him where if he is,
if he just bum rushed up the middle with nowhere to go, we've seen him kind of backpedal
a little bit and take like lengthy sacks and just he's not trying to get rid of it or there's
nothing he can do about it and then there's other ones where you mentioned he's i don't want to say
seeing ghosts but like maybe feeling pressure that isn't necessarily there just because over the last
couple weeks it's been pretty prevalent um but yeah the turnovers when it comes to the fumbles and
there's direct examples of just being slapped out of his hand and things like that so what do you
think like is it as simple as 50-50 or how would you rank that it's hard because it all works in
concert together you know it's not just the offensive line's not the only one responsible for protections
you know there's the running back involved in that there's the quarterback with with checks and
call-outs like hey this guy's coming or watch for this guy or slide left slide right
there's audibles and hot reads and when quarterbacks need to get the ball out hot there's depth
of drop when it comes to the quarterback the depth of drop is a big part of this if you are
a seven-man rush coming, you can't be taking a five-step drop, especially out of the
gun, because you're going to leave your offensive linemen, especially your tackles on an island
that they just can't block. So it's not just offensive line, but also the offensive line's a
big part of this. You know, like it kind of goes hand in hand. So overall, I think it's just
more of a team issue right now, where early in the season, I'm not saying the Colts offensive line
was like this elite pass blocking unit. They were doing some good things, but Jones was still taking
hits early in the season. He was just standing in there and delivering under duress at a really
high level because he had a lot of answers pre-snap. And I think what we're seeing these last
couple weeks is he hasn't been as comfortable and confident pre-snap. And it's led to his first
read, just not delivering the ball in his first read. And when you're getting a six, seven-man
rush, when you don't have enough guys to pick that up, you're going to take sacks when your first
read isn't there. You know, so I think the Colts need to get back to finding answers pre-snap
for him. There have been a couple of, uh,
just things that the Falcons and Steelers are thrown at them pre-snap that have just been difficult for Jones to pick up on, which has led to some sacks.
So I think overall just got to watch the film, see what they can really improve on, like maybe get some more motion going on those third down plays.
And I think that overall that can be fine.
But yeah, it's hard to really say like offensive line 38% Daniel Jones, because they all kind of work hand in hand.
Like you don't have one struggle without the others, unless like a guy is just getting beat.
super, super clean, it's kind of just, it's all across the board, really, when it comes to all these guys.
Yeah. And I think I've noticed them, like, really going hard at Jonathan. Like, when Jonathan's having to
protect inside, it feels like the blitzers are coming like a freight train. And like, I feel like he's good
when he can see something coming and they're maybe not coming full speed or there's like space to
adjust to it. But when it's like messy traffic coming right through the middle, I think it's been a lot
harder for him to adjust. So this next one, it's a question kind of about adjusting to that pressure
because, of course, we can all identify like this has been a problem. And the Colts can see that,
but it doesn't mean they can just quickly fix it because defenses are still going to bring pressure.
So it's kind of like, how do you adjust that? Because you have to assume it's still going to happen,
but how do you better react to it? And this next question from Jack Geiley says,
I feel like when they get overwhelming pressure looks, they do a few, they should do a few more
jailbreak screens to Michael Pittman Jr. on the outside or like Josh Downs, Tyler Warren.
Those have been great in the past, and I don't feel like we've seen many this year agree.
So basically, do you feel like there should, I guess on obvious passing down to when a blitz is
going to be a little more likely if there should be that quick option?
But you also wonder about the blockers coming out front too.
like, where are you allocating your resources?
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of way.
Like, tunnel screens are a good way to get into it.
But if they're running like press man across the board,
you don't want to throw a tunnel screening against press, press man
because that guy is on your receiver.
And a second, they sense that receiver coming back for a screen.
They're going to get in front of that blocker and make a play on that ball.
So there are answers to this blitz heavy approach the Colts are seeing.
One is just being ahead of the sticks, getting to third and three situations again,
third and four situations.
win more on first and second down like they were earlier in the season and then you can get hot on
these blitz plays where in contrast if you're in third and 12 it's hard to throw hot because you don't
want to throw the ball two yards down the field on third and 12 and have your guy have to make
10 yards after the catch to get that first down so that's one of the biggest ones another good solution
would just be getting moali cox out there more on third downs to have more chip help or just an extra
blocker in there now that might invite the blitz but if they're already going to bring seven guys
you might as well have an extra hat in there to block and provide that protection.
And then another one is just like, look, if you see that they're bringing pressure,
just move Josh Downs pre-snap, make sure he's in motion,
get him one of those cheap motions to avoid the press coverage,
get him on those option routes, and then just stare him down.
He's going to be open, you know, on those routes.
So there are some answers for sure.
I think the Colts will be fine figuring out throughout the by week here.
But yeah, I mean, there's a lot of things they can do.
they just got to reset and get back to what was working earlier the year.
And this get Daniel Jones more comfortable on those blitzing situations,
those third down passing situations.
Yeah, got to do something because it's not been pretty.
Coming up, though, guys, you also had a lot of questions forecasting ahead to the offseason
who should be priorities.
What if this?
What if that?
We're going to go over all of it in just a moment.

Am I doing the right thing?
All that stuff, it helps get me back on track and gives me a little extra juice and that
umph to get going again.

All right, every dayers, welcome back and thank you for making Lockdown Colts, your first
listen of the day.
And thank you for making Locked on the number one sports podcast network in the world.
That's right.
It's all because you.
And it's also all because of you that we have this episode.
We're doing a Q&A episode.
And you guys always, no matter what, because you are football.
nerds you are free agency and draft nerds you have to know something about the off season and that's
why we're here because zach and i are the same way so let's start up with michael beeman
what do a daniel jones and an alec pierce extension look like michael also added in another
question uh going back to joe shane's um negotiations with daniel jones and his representation back
in in new york and how difficult that was for shane to kind of navigate that i don't know if
Jones people are just hard nose or whatever it is.
But, you know, I guess how aggressive do you think Jones should be?
And what do you think a deal for him and a deal for Alec Pierce might look like?
Yeah, I mean, to first tackle like the agency side of this, like they should be hard-nosed to get money.
These are guys' chances to maximize their earning potential in their career.
So they have the right to go after every bit of dollar they can get.
You know, you are as much worth as what the market is willing to pay you.
And that's going to be the biggest thing with Daniel Jones.
In terms of what I think these guys actually get,
I think I still can't really get past Jones getting more of like a Sam Darnold-type deal
to what Darnold just got in the last offseason.
I think Darnel got three for 105.
I think Jones will get that.
But with like inflation, so like three for 115, maybe upwards of three for 120.
I can't imagine it going much more than that.
And ultimately, I don't really think that they're going to be wanting to get that anywhere else.
I think both sides are going to understand that a lot of Jones's success is partly due to like where Stuyken and his offense is at, but also like what he's doing with this team as well.
Like it just works hand in hand exceptionally well.
So I think they'll come to terms for sure after the season.
I think it'll be around that again, three for 115, three for 120 type of bridge deal.
And then they can see how that goes over the next couple years.
In terms of Alec Pierce, you know, it was reported in that was Jeremy Fowler article, I believe.
that said Pierce could get upwards of $20 million per year.
I feel like we've been saying that since the off season.
And it ain't could.
I promise you he's getting over $20 million.
Yeah, he's going to get around $20 million per year or so.
And look, I know there's a lot of Colts fans saying like,
oh, how can we afford them?
Can we afford them?
The second they trade away, A.D. Mitchell, I'm pretty sure that they have the mindset
of prioritizing Pierce this off season.
So if you're nervous about all these Colts upcoming free agents,
I will calm down.
I will say to calm down just a little bit about Jones and Pierce.
I think those are the two that should be back almost no matter what after the season.
The question more so becomes the other guys that we're going to talk about with some of these other questions.
But yeah, Jones and Pierce are going to take up a lot of the Colts available cap this off season.
But I don't envision them going anywhere.
I think both them are going to be in place here for the future of this team.
Yeah, those two feel like certainties to me.
this next one from Joshua Jenner.
Do we have any chance of resigning?
We already mentioned Pierce, but Nick Cross.
And then is there enough cap space to sign Jones,
Braden Smith, and Pierce?
That's from Robert Jones.
So let's just throw Smith and Cross and even Quitty Pay.
Let's just throw the other big guys into the pile.
So Smith is probably, I don't want to say lower on the priority list,
but like they did draft a guy who might be his replacement and you know his situation is just
weird because he's kind of performed at the level to get a bump and pay from the 10 million
but at the same time what's his longevity both in what he feels like he still wants to play
and you know physically he hasn't had the cleanest bill of health either so uh it's kind of a
mixed bag when you look past jones and pierce yeah no when you look at those other guys that's
really where the question comes in. So to answer the question, like, honestly, is there a way to
fit all these guys in? Yeah, there's always a way to fit them all in. The salary cap is not real.
It is real. It's just not real in terms of like, like you can still bring back everybody. You just
have to pay a price for it down the line. Yeah. So wherever you do currently, you can end up like the
saints or the Eagles in terms of killing yourself in the future with all the dead cap and void years
that you add on top of it. But the Colts can certainly go that route if they want to.
It's just going to take a lot of hard cold cash up front to do that by giving Jones,
like a massive signing bonus to drop his year one cap hit.
Same thing with Pierce they could do.
Sauce Garden, that's why his is lower because he has a big bonus coming.
That's in a $20 million range.
That's going to be paid out of pocket by the Ursi women.
So, yeah, if they want to just dive into their hard cash that they have on hand,
then sure, they can make all this work.
But in reality, the Colts have always been a cash over cap team.
they don't typically go too crazy with that stuff with the dead cap and the void years and such so i think
it is going to be more of a tough decision with guys like cross and smith and um and quitty pay i don't envision
all them back i think cross is the one they prioritize out of that three if they could get him back
but again we'll see what happens with the market on those guys uh but yeah cross or uh pierson jones i feel
good about being back the other three ify uh if they really want to go all in on this window they could
but it's tough.
It really is tough because, again,
for saying the cap's not real
and the money's not real,
like it takes a lot of hard cash up front
and then hurting yourself in future years
for the cap to not be real.
And it is tough for a smaller market team
like the coast to operate that way.
Yeah, and with that in mind,
I do anticipate that they might kind of rework
some contracts this year
because we've been talking about it
since before the season.
Like, there's not a lot of guaranteed money
out there on this roster
and players might want that.
And then at the same time, the team might want to lower, you know,
or inflate their cap space a little bit.
So there's more work to be done there.
This next one's interesting, potential Lou Anirumo replacement if he takes a head
coaching job that's from JD.
Now, this isn't just out of thin air.
Like there have been connections there to Giants because Joe Shane and Lou Aniromo
have a connection there, I guess.
And Lou's been mentioned as a possibility there after the season.
And so, yeah, I mean, Lou coming back and putting together a decent defense and seeing what Cincinnati's defense has been like.
Like, he's been in the coaching carousel before.
Like, he might be honored again this year.
Yeah, yeah, I'll be quick at this because we're running late on this segment.
But, yeah, him and the Giants, GM go way back to the Miami days.
And even I think Lou and her most son is on the giant staff right now as a scouting assistant or something like that.
So there are a lot of connections there that could make sense.
So I could certainly see Luann Rameau getting those offers in the offseason,
especially if the Colts defense finishes as strong as I expect them to finish.
In terms of replacements, there's a couple in-house guys who the Colts are very high on and they like.
Chris Hewitt and Jerome Henderson obviously would be the two guys that we would really be talking about,
especially again at this Colts defense finishes the way that I think they will.
I think both those guys would be right to get first interview.
And then you go to more of like those Ravens Tree type guys at Stike in Respects.
Weaver down in Miami, who could be out after the season if Mike McDaniels is fired,
that could be a really interesting one, just shut down the Buffalo Bills with a very
shorthanded Dolphins defense this past week.
And then you get Dernard Wilson also in Tennessee.
He goes back with Shane Steichen quite a bit.
And again, Tennessee, not the most talented defense.
They gave the Colts fits in that second matchup, in the passing game, at least,
in the run game, you kind of just need dudes there.
And they just don't have the dudes up front.
But I think those would be guys to watch outside.
but Chris Hugh and Jerome Henderson, I think, would be the first guys up to interview and potentially get that job.
Yeah, their linebacker or coach James Betcher in there as well.
He'd probably go with Lou, though.
I think he's attached at Lou's hip.
You think so?
Yeah, maybe, maybe.
They've been together for like 10 plus years at this point.
Yeah, it's been a long minute.
This real quick from Ben Arras, Chris Ballard will not speak during the by week.
We asked if he'd speak after Sauce and he released the statement.
So we don't expect to hear from Chris Ballard until the end of the season like normal.
So all business as usual there.
All right, coming up next, guys, we're going to go rapid fire because we have a bunch more.
Some of them are personal to Zach and me.
Some are a little more lighthearted.

We are doing fan Q&A today, and we're going into our lightning round.
These ones, we're going to try and answer as quick as possible because it's loaded.
We wanted to get as many of your questions in there.
We have a ton hit the cutting room floor, so we're going to go rapid fire through these.
So first up, why isn't Jalen Jones playing more snaps?
Does Lou Aniromo just not like him or what?
That's from TMB sports.
Yeah, we talked about this a lot when Jones was out due to injury
where a lot of fans are saying,
oh, wait until Jalen Jones comes back, he'll solidify the corner.
It's like we were kind of trying to tell people to calm down a little bit.
Mackay Blackwin's going to be the guy who gets more snaps than him.
Yeah, Lou Anirmo just value speed so much at the outside corner position.
And Jalen Jones, I mean, look, we saw even on his past breakup against Kyle Pitts
in this past game,
completely torched on that play.
You know, Pitts had like a good three steps on it,
Pennix Jr. just left it a couple yards short,
and it bounced off Jones's head in the back of the end zone.
So Anirumo just value speed so much at outside corner.
And we could kind of tell since training camp that he wasn't very high on Jalen Jones.
They were getting Jonathan Edwards snaps above him in training camp.
And even while Jones has surpassed Edwards now on the depth chart,
it would still take a lot for him to pass Mackay Blackman,
who I think has had a pretty couple.
a pretty good, like, solid couple of weeks here.
Really nice third down stopping, but John Robinson this past game.
Kind of got hosed on that penalty in overtime.
It was a dreadful penalty call against him.
But, yeah, I think Blackman's playing fine.
And honestly, I don't think Jones is like a difference maker in this defense for Anorumo.
So, yeah, I think it's going to kind of be like this.
Like, Jones will get, like, the Edwards role from earlier in the season,
where you get, like, two to three snaps a game on defense.
And the rest of his impact will be on special teams.
Yeah, I think it's a very matchup based as well.
Like obviously you wanted him versus D.K. Metcalf two weeks ago instead of a smaller guy like Mackay Blackman.
Mackay may have the better speed to match up with Metcalf, but Metcalf could just literally throw him out the club.
Whereas with Jalen Jones, it's a little bit more of a physical fight.
And then Blackman against Darnell Mooney is a very good matchup, whereas Jones would probably not have matched up as well.
So I think it's literally very one-on-one matchup based.
how much he's going to play.
Is Jalen Carlis coming back or not with the deal?
I'll take that one.
So that's your question right there.
I have been very diligent earlier in the year as soon as he became eligible to come back
from my R about asking Shane about him coming back.
And there never was anything other than like, yeah, we hope he comes back at some point.
There's never any update.
I do think they still anticipate him getting back at some point this year.
It's been like a couple weeks since we've asked just because there's.
There's never any progressive update about it.
But, you know, after the by week here, it's time to ask again.
We'll see.
I do think they anticipate him back before the season is up.
But obviously, at this juncture, it's too little too late.
I don't think he's going to usurp Jermaine Pratt.
No, no.
And he shouldn't.
I mean, Germain Pratt's been very solid for this team.
Maybe you can get him out there over Austin, a GK on some of these passing down snaps,
but that's probably it.
I will say if he doesn't touch the field leading into the Chiefs game,
I'm just going to assume he's not playing this year
because if you even had the buy week to rest up
and all, like, it's been a long time
since we've seen him, so.
It's been since the beginning of August.
Yeah, so I'm not really counting on much there with Carlize.
I think that ship has kind of sailed in my head.
Even if he does come back,
I don't even know if he's ahead of Austin, the GK, on the debt chart.
He was getting passed on the offseason by some of these guys.
So I'm not really projecting Carlize to be much of a contributor,
if or when he's back this season.
No, probably special teams, if that.
Speaking of special teams, this one is from Echo Warrior.
How much of an impact of Laquan Treadwell and Amir Abdullah had on special teams?
And Abdullah seems to have also taken RB2 by the horns.
Is that due to others' injuries or did he earn it?
I will say it initially was because of injuries that they had to bring him up from the practice squad.
But at this point, I think they really, really like what he offers.
Like, Goodson's been back for a couple weeks now and it's still Abdullah getting kind of the first
reps after Jonathan Taylor.
Well, we did see Goodson take over a little bit in this last game.
Yeah, Goodson actually got more offensive reps this past week than Abdullah.
Yeah, just by a couple, I think.
Like, it was like two to one or something or three to two.
Like, it was mostly the Jonathan Taylor show.
But we did see Goodson get back out there.
But I love the first part of this question.
I'm going to answer that real quick.
They have been great on special teams.
Amir Abdullah and the return game has been impactful.
Laquan Treadwell, this past game was like put together one of the best special
teams performances i've seen not the first time either yeah aside from ashton dulin obviously because
duelan's you know an all pro for a reason but man treadwell had a couple of just big hits on on kick
return and limited the falcons return game to you know the 20 to the 25 yard line a handful of times
so they've been great you know you need veterans to fill out your roster and play those special
teams roles those guys there's a reason why they've stuck in the league as long as they have uh really
really happy to see how they're playing and yeah dula has earned his spot over dj getins on offense
as well. He's outperformed DJ Giddens. So, yeah, they both have earned their spots on this
roster this year. Yeah, glad that they both found their way on to the, like, actual active
roster and it's not just game day call-ups now. All right, so this one is solely for you. What are
Zach's thoughts on the impact of Alexander Ovechkin's 900th goal? That's from Noah. Yeah, I mean,
I'm a Capitals fan, so that's what I was asked. But yeah, I mean, the 900th goal didn't really do much
for me because he already had the all-time record. I wish it was like a video game glitch, though,
where every time you scored a new goal, they would go do a whole ceremony for breaking the record yet again.
I had that glitch back in like an 04 video game with some players.
But yeah, it's been a treat watching him his whole career.
I love hockey and my capitals are, they're struggling this year, but it's been fun to watch for sure.
Yep.
And now we're getting the propaganda machine start to smoke a little bit.
Who is your midseason all pro fullback?
That's from Kenan.
Chris Ballard is my daddy over on Twitter.
No, so the trains, the train's rolling.
We're trying to get Tyler Warren, an all pro not at fullback.
If he gets it at tight end as well, awesome.
But look at the numbers for fullback.
It's valid.
Yeah.
At fullback this year, he's averaging 41 yards per reception.
Don't look how many receptions.
41 yards per reception has a rushing touchdown at fullback as well.
And the Colts are rushing for 6.7 yards per carry when he,
is lined up at fullback this year and that was with the you know a certain jets wide receiver
taking off a 53 yard touchdown with a hold down the field as well so it could be over seven yards
per carry with tyler warren at fullback this year multiple touchdowns this year uh he has been
the best fullback in the league and heck when you look at it in terms of like snap distribution
like i would get it if juice check was out snapping him by like 300 snaps at the position but
Kyle's juice check, the right-in guy for fullback is there's only like two in the entire league
every year, only has 50 more snaps at fullback than Warren this year. A lot of juice check snaps
come in line now. So why is he getting the fullback all-pro when Warren should be getting it?
Warren's been better and more impactful from the full-back position. So I'm going to push this
the rest of the year. Tyler Warren, second team all-pro tight-in, first-team all-pro fullback.
Let's get it going. I think this is what he should be by the end of his rookie season.
I say first team all pro at both, but, you know, who am I to say?
Tray McBride fantasy football owner right here.
I can't speak against him, but yeah, no, for sure.
I think he certainly has earned all pro status at both.
But I think 100% lock at fullback, in my opinion.
I don't even know what else we, like, again, we just give juice check it just because
it's the Matthew Slater award at this point, just because we know the name.
We have to give it to them every year.
Like, Tyler Warren has been the best fullback in football this season.
dude okay and so kyle us check has not gotten all these accolades just because he's played fullback he's been a very flashy versatile fullback the guy lines out wide he can line up in the slot he has he has versatile usage just like tyler does you're not giving it to him because he just is this classic i formation fullback who's going to knock the hell out of his snaps had been in the backfield this year right tyler warren only 11% of his snaps but if we're already stooping down to th
30% of his snaps.
Let's go lower to 11% then because the 11% have been more impactful than the 30%.
Christian McCaffrey is averaging, what, three yards per carry this year?
Jonathan Taylor with Warren as his fullback is averaging 6.7 on the Warren runs.
Like give it to talk.
Tyler Warren's been the better fullback this year.
Get out of here with I'm not trying to tear down use check.
He's awesome.
But like, come on.
It's Tyler Warren.
I love it.
Now scream that from the mountains, everybody.
Get this movement going.
We need the national writers and the people who actually vote the AP Awards to see this.
Yeah, let's make it happen.
It's a grassroots movement.
It starts right now.
We need more explosive runs with ISO too, so Shane get on it so I can just keep adding to the agenda.
But so far, I've already got enough fuel for the fire.
Let's keep it going.
I like it.
All right.
This last one is from Ross Red, and it's for me.
I said, I'm curious about Jake's experiences working in the Colts facilities.
What's it like to be let behind me?
scenes cool interactions or stories what it means for him to have such an interesting job that sounds
like i wrote the question i promised that i did not uh but i mean it's it's great it's a privilege
it's it's what i wanted to do basically since i was a teenager or preteen i kind of zeroed in
on wanting to work in sports media um i mean i feel like i have a lot of access to things and i know
a lot of things that i cannot say obviously and i mean i used to work in the building because i
with colts.com for a while uh coolest part about that you know you guys know us here we're draft
nerds being able to know what was happening in the draft room when i worked for the team was pretty
cool obviously do not have that same sort of access anymore uh but no just like getting to be in the
building for the team that i grew up watching it's it's i am always very appreciative and i do not
take it likely uh it still does not feel like work to me so i
I'm loving it.
So I appreciate that question for you.
Yeah,
you just love talking about yourself on here.
I do.
I know a good question.
No,
I'm just kidding.
I did get my question about Ovechkin on here.
