Indianapolis Colts cornerback Jalen Jones returned to practice on Wednesday.
Could he be the boost that this cornerback room needs?
Let's get to it.

Hello, everyone.
My name is Zach Hickcher Resident Film Nerd of Horseshoe.com.
And my partner, Jake Arthur, is the credentialed crocks on the ground for round table sports.
We have our typical Wednesday show coming right at you guys.
We're going to talk about the latest injury report and how the Colts got some good news on
several different fronts heading into this Tennessee Titans matinee this weekend and then we're
going to dive into some Q&As that you guys sent Jake on social medias. I haven't really seen
the questions yet. That's like how we like to do it here though. Jake throws them at me and
then I'm put on the spot. I think that's how we work best here, Jake, you know, me just having to
think on my feet with that stuff there. But let's get into some injury updates for the cold.
Some very positive injury news. One being wide receiver Josh Downs did return to practice. I don't
think he logged a practice at all last week drake am i mistaken with that i don't think he did i didn't
see him out there plus today when he was out there he had the red no contact one yeah i think you have
to wear that at your first practice back if i'm not mistaken uh don't hold me to that but yeah
he had the the red no contact jersey on today yeah so josh down's return to practice only in
limited form but getting that in on a wednesday i think it's pretty positive for uh getting ready
for this weekend so we'll see if he's able to return two special team stars are back at practice
Ashton Doolin and Tyler Goodson. The Colts two gunners are back at practice, which is huge for the
team because those guys were, I don't want to say they were sorely missed, but you know,
you obviously want to have your do-it-all players back in the fold for your team. But the biggest
news is cornerback Jalen Jones, Jake. He was active, not activated, but he's returned to
practice within that 21-day window off of IR. So the Colts have 21 days to activate.
him and put him back on the 53 man roster.
He did practice in limited form today.
I will put this out there for everyone who's getting excited saying,
okay, Jalen Jones is back, that when people usually come off of IR,
usually the first week is a tough one for them to come back for.
I mean, I know Cleo Mac came back this last week against the Colts after his IR stint,
but that's not really the norm.
Usually it's return to practice for a week of limited practice and then get back that second
or third week. But regardless, it's big to get Jalen Jones back on the practice field. The
Colts cornerback room is down to Mackay Blackman being the number one corner on the outside,
the no doubt number one corner that you can't even consider taking him off the field,
while cornerback two on the outside has been a combination of Cameron Mitchell and Jonathan Edwards
out there, two guys that I don't think many Colts fans even knew who they were coming into the
offseason. So to get potentially Jalen Jones back in the mix, Jake, this could be a big deal.
Yeah, Blackman was supposed to be what, like the fourth corner and then Jonathan Edwards like made
the roster by the skin of his teeth. And now those are top two corners. That's kind of nuts.
But no, that's really good. And to your point, you know, Jalen Jones got injured, I think,
at the end of July initially. I think it was July 29th was when he had that first hamstring injury,
right and then he didn't return until like a week before week one and then so he was healthyish
for a couple weeks before he injured that again in week one so from the end of July to right now the
guy has only spent like a week or two healthy with that hamstring so as much time as he needs to
take that's cool and not even just that but also conditioning being in football shape all that stuff
Now, the football shape of it all, I've heard players say countless times.
Like, you can't get into football shape without playing football.
But we don't know necessarily mobility-wise what he's been doing behind the scenes to work out.
Like, he could already be in good, like, cardio shape.
So I don't know.
My instinct still says he probably needs a week or so.
He was out there today, though, practicing.
So that's worth something.
I didn't notice him limping or anything.
like that. He already was in the system and was already like playing week one. So it's not a guy
that's got a lot of catching up to do. I also, I don't know how the coaches feel about this either,
but this is a matchup where you can kind of slow play some of your injuries. Like you don't
want to take it easy on any opponents or anything, but it would be shocking for the Colts to
lose to the Titans under any circumstance.
Like the Titans team you guys all saw back in week three has gotten worse since then.
I understand they had their first win, but Jeffrey Simmons, Legerious Sneed, Calvin Ridley,
Arden Key, none of those guys practice today.
And it's pretty unlikely that at least half of them play.
Tyler Lockett has been released after asking for it.
Like this team is not in better shape than the Colts team that beat them by three
touchdowns back in week three. So, you know, if you want to get Jones back to go cover
D.K. Metcalf next week, you get the Steelers, I'm all for that. But you may take it just a little
slow in this matchup because are you going to lock him on Elicio Manor or something? Like,
I don't know that that's necessary. It's so crazy where we're at right now with this Colts team
where we're talking about, like, again, you don't want to overlook any opponent or anything like
that but we have jake here saying that you could take it easy going against the team in in a
week eight matchup in the division nonetheless as well but i understand what you're saying there where
i think the current spread right now between the colts and the titans is like one of the top
five biggest spreads of the two thousands between crazy like like uh my my buddy was division game
yeah my buddy was texting me this that the the uh raiders versus the chiefs this past weekend
was only a 10 and a half point spread, right?
And we all knew who was going to win that game, right?
Going into that one.
That was a 10.5 point spread.
This Colts Titans won the last time I saw it was like 15.
Like, that's how big the difference is,
according to the odds makers right now.
Obviously, anything can happen on a Sunday,
but the way the Colts have played this year,
it's hard for me to see an avenue for the Titans to win.
And again, you want all hands on day.
If guys are healthy, they play, right?
if they're healthy, they play.
But if there's any kind of questions, I think that I don't know if this is really the game
where you gut it out.
You know, like I think they have enough weapons on those sides.
Wasn't all positive, though, with the Colts injuries today.
Pass rushers, Tyquan Lewis and Samson, Ebukam were both out at practice.
It does seem like Ebukam's not going to go this week.
The Colts put him as week to week.
And Tyquan Lewis is listed as day to day.
I don't know if either of them play, especially don't think Ebukon plays this week,
but Lewis will see.
Kenny Moore also didn't practice
but he did play this past week
and it's with the injury that he's been dealing with
so this might be kind of like a rest-ish day for him
so we'll have to monitor that the rest of the week
and then Braden Smith was also out but that was with his
typical rest days there so
as good an injury report as you could really get
for the Colts so it's really you know I really can't complain
right now Jake
no I feel better about it than I did
you know last week basically you know
it's it's not
great to not have Ebukom and Lewis right now. I like Lewis may still play. He's not a guy that
has to practice a bunch. Ebukom, you could probably go ahead and roll him out. Shane already
said he's week to week. He had a big fat brace on his knee in the locker room today.
So I would not imagine that Bucom plays. But that does probably mean more JT to him a low
while. We'll see what he's got. If he doesn't, if he's not ready, that's fine. I just want to be
able to see it to know that he's not ready. You know what I mean? And then,
Atatomwa, Atabwara, you know, you mentioned to me off air a little bit that that's a guy who can probably see some increased snaps also.
Yeah, they better get him more snaps.
I can't even can actually complain about where his snaps have been at this year.
Like, they've been solid.
He is their NASCAR package, other defensive tackle alongside DeForest Buckner.
So maybe you find some, like, honestly, I wouldn't hate him on like early downs being out there at like five tech or, you know, even wide nine at times because he's, I mean, he's 280, 285 pounds.
But that's what Dio, a dangbo was.
last year at defensive end so if you're going to get him out there for base downs like maybe some
run defense type stuff and protect him from double teams i think he can handle some base down
defensive end stuff and then when you get back to passing downs put him inside but you know either
way at a tommy was going to get his snaps he's been great this year i think jt two and a low
i certainly gets a step up in snaps and then if if taekuan lewis is also out uh i would expect like darrell
and chami to get called up where i'm a little if he on darrell and chami i loved what he did
as a pass rusher in the preseason, his run defense left a little bit to be desired.
But, you know, with the Colts offense, you might be just pass rushing for 90% of the game
anyway. So, I mean, maybe that's a good time to call him up. Yeah, I think if everyone was
healthy, this probably would have been a game where you have all your edges and then you make
like Eric Johnson inactive because you know they go kind of week to week, whether they're going
to have the extra edge or the extra detackle. I think this would have been an edge game for them.
Yeah. I think most games.
are now because their offense is just we were talking about it off air before but the the top two
games in terms of ePaper play for an NFL offense this year the Colts versus the Chargers this
past week and the Colts versus the Titans back in week three so this Colts offense is a well-oiled
machine and I'm sure we have plenty of questions coming up about that offense here getting into
our Q&A segment so coming up guys we're going to dive into some of your questions you're burning
up questions and talk a lot about potential trades because that's what's on everyone's mind right now
the NFL season is in full swing and honestly there's nothing better than being in the stadium
surrounded by fans cheering on your team but let's be honest getting tickets that could be a hassle
between the cues the login screens prices jumping at checkout like something that was never
even listed it's just all super frustrating but that's why we at locked on here we use game time
it's the app that gives the advantage back to the fans game time's fast easy and it's back
by the game time guarantee, and that means that you'll always get 100% authentic tickets,

Plus, all fees are included, so the price that you are expecting to see and that you're
expecting to pay is the real one that you're going to wind up paying.
I pulled up game time recently in just a couple of taps.
I saw amazing deals talking about your favorite NFL games for as low as $100, which
the NFL could price itself out into oblivion sometimes.
The app made it super simple.
even see the exact view from the seats that I might buy before buying, which is super clutch.
I love the zone deals as well.
You pick the section, game time picks the seats, and then you save big.
Honestly, it's just faster, cheaper, and less stressful than any other way that I've bought
tickets.
And I've bought tickets for, you know, comedy shows, uh, concerts.
I've used it for a lot of things.
And it's not just game.
I mean, you think it's just NFL games and pro games and everything, but it's really any
event that you might want to attend.

Welcome back, Locked-on Colts Every Dairs.
We have been talking about the Colts, mostly positive injury report today.
you know they got jalen jones back on the field they opened up his 21 day practice window
josh downs and ashton dula were back on the field uh survives are overall pretty good from the
injury of uh injury front now now like we did last wednesday we opened up the floor to you guys
for your questions and you guys came in pretty hot on this one obviously player acquisition is
the name of the game right now it was mostly broken down into trade deadline stuff and then
kind of free in-house free agents that you guys prioritize that is the lion's share of what we
got here so Zach hasn't really seen these yet so I'm going to go ahead and throw them his way
first one here it seems like the Colts have had great center and guard play this year
but I've not heard much about the tackles what do you guys think of the play of barrenhard
Reimann and Braden Smith that's from Tim Butterfield well Tim when it comes to tackle play we
have an old saying in football where the less you hear a tackle's name
being talked about or less you even hear a tackle at all, the better that their play probably
is. I don't know if that fully applies when it comes to me because I'm such an offensive
line nerd and I just adore offensive line play. But with Ryman and Smith, I think they've both
been very solid this year. Berenhart Ryman especially, I think Ryman is playing at like a
pro bowl level this season, especially after those like first two weeks were a little bit shaky.
Since then, though, I think he's been playing some really, really good football. The left side of
the Colts offensive line hit the blocking.
on that side, like in the run game, has just been at this elite level from Bordalini to
Quentin Nelson and then out to Reimann, who I think has been a very, very underrated piece
of the Colts running game.
They are just mowing through guys with ease.
Ryman, I think, has been fantastic as a run blocker, very steady as a pass blocker.
You know, Braden Smith, I would probably say, has been the Colts most inconsistent offensive
lineman this year, but I don't say that as a negative.
I more so just say that to speak highly about the other four.
guys where Braden Smith probably playing at like an above average right tackle level like maybe
like a top 10 to 15 right tackle in football this year it's just the other guys have all been
playing better relative to their positions somehow that's how good this Colts offensive line has
been so Brayton Smith as someone mentioned up in here in the comments too he's cut out the penalties
we haven't seen many penalties from him this year I think the run blocking has been really great
in recent weeks him and Consolvis have been killing teams with their duo blocks and just the
power running game to the right side of the offensive line.
And then in the passing game, I think he did a really admirable job against Max
Crosby.
You know, Max Crosby is a guy who moves all over the place, and they lined him up outside on
the wide nine against Braden, and the Colts mostly left him on an island.
Now, it was an island where Gonsolvis had the slide that way, so he had the inside shoulder
protected a lot with Gonsolves sliding to that side, but you still have Max Crosby going to
your outside shoulder on a lot of these reps.
and Brad Smith fought with him very well.
So, yeah, I think the tackle play has been really, really good.
You know, we talk so much about Quentin Nelson being, like, playing like a Hall of Fame,
like a peak Hall of Fame season right now.
Like, this is the greatest Quentin Nelson season I've seen.
And that's a lot for his standards.
And Tanner Bordelaney is looking like an all pro in recent weeks, but the tackle play has
been really, really good for the Colts.
And, you know, when it comes to offensive line play, you need all five guys stepping up to
have a really good unit.
All five guys have been great Indianapolis this year.
year. Yeah, that was a really good point by Tim because all of the national attention I've seen
about Colts O-line play has almost all been about the interior. So good to get a little update there.
That is going to kind of parlay us into this next one, which really made me think. And I was even
thinking about it at practice today and talk it over some with some guys. It's one where my answer
might change by the week. With Braden Smith, maybe being gone in the all season to make cap room,
will Jalen Travis be ready to step in? That's from Casey.
with a k i'm going to make that kind of a broader thing on do you resign brayden smith um if you do
you know can it be expensive do you let him walk here's my thing brayden i don't know like this may
be the last season he wants i don't know because he kind of felt like he had unfinished business
with everything i went on last year and wanted to come back and play with these guys for this
organization now he may want to return after this year that was totally just me speculating
using context but at the same time
braden smith is going to he's probably going to get at least another 10 mill a year if he keeps
playing i mean what and with the underselling that a little bit right i'm sure he is but like at
his age and history that would be like a bare minimum it's probably closer to like 15 but jalen
Travis is on his rookie deal you know what i mean do you go cheaper to create more cap room or how would
you go about it yeah the colts as of right now
we're going to be around 60 million in cap space.
Now, a lot of that can change, certainly,
with other cuts and releases and restructures and stuff like that.
But they have to have money for Daniel Jones,
for Alec Pierce, Nick Cross,
all these other guys that are potentially getting up there.
And the last thing you want to do is break up this offensive line.
But, man, a tackle like Brayton Smith,
if he hits the market,
is going to get, like, 20 a year.
And I just, I don't know how the Colts are going to before that.
Because look what Dan Moore just got on the open market.
Oh, God.
that's right you know dan more is not as good a tackle as brayton smith is uh so i think it just comes
down to like i'm sure the colts will want will ask bray and smith like it was an opportunity to
match anything but i i just i think it might be like a will fry situation where he just kind
of prices himself out of the of what the colts can afford when especially when the daniel
jones contract comes up i don't think the jones contract's going to be like this albatross
type thing i think it's going to be like closer to the darn oldish contract
but I still think it's a lot for a franchise
that hasn't paid a franchise quarterback
in a couple years.
So, yeah, I think it's going to be
around 20-ish million a year,
and I just, I don't know if the Colts can do that.
The only thing I think is the weird factor with this.
Braden Smith's kind of a really down-home, like,
quiet, like, reserved guy
who kind of shies away from the limelight in a lot of ways.
So I wonder if he would like the familiarity
to, like, a one or two-year deal
at like 30-ish million dollars, you know, to come back, like a two-year deal, like 30-ish
million dollars, not a one-year deal with that, like, just to kind of stay in the situation
he knows.
So maybe in that situation.
But at the end of the day, like, this is his last real chance to cash in.
I think he's going to want to hit the market.
And, I mean, there's so many teams that could use a tackle of his caliber right now.
And with how Tony Sparano Jr. has been with offensive lineman, I trust him to make me into a
starting caliber offensive tackle in the NFL, let alone.
and Travis who looks the part and has the athleticism out there you may lack the height and length but
i mean you know that's he's a good coach i've been working on my kickslide you know so i i think
after like you know i eat a couple of cattle and i can maybe get to the way
to get up there so there's another one we'll kick to the next segment but like let's answer real
quick the jelan Travis of it all like we knock on all the wood that is possibly around us but like
we haven't had to see him in a huge role like the Colts third and fourth tackles normally
have to play.
I mean, he's normally the big tight end or, you know, the extra guy who's eligible on
certain plays.
That's kind of been his thing this year.
What have you seen from that small role?
The run blocking looks good.
He hasn't really had any past blocking reps because he's only out there when they're
running the ball out.
But I think there's a lot of potential with Jalen Travis.
And again, it might be a little bit rough.
to start the next year if he is the starting right tackle but i'm willing to live with the growing
pains because you have four other guys uh locked up for the next three years i mean especially when they
extend quit nelson again uh they'll have the other four guys locked up for the foreseeable future
two of which on a rookie contract uh you can live with your right tackle having some growing pains
here and there so i think that's the right way to go about it but we'll see like if they do extend
brain smith it might speak to how confident they are in jayland travis and we have another draft
in between next year as well.
You could easily take a tackle
on the first, second, or third round
and throw that guy in there.
So there's a lot of options
for this Colts team going forward.
Yeah.
All right, guys, well, you had way more questions
about the future,
and that includes more in-house free agents
and the trade deadline.
We'll talk about that in just a moment.

If you are one of those who sent us your questions over on Twitter today, thank you very much.
We are getting to those now.
So this one is from Jack Giley.
Was discussed on Twitter earlier this week, but we'd love to hear your guys' thoughts.
Would Nick Cross or Alec Pierce be higher on your priority list to re-sign this offseason if you could only pick one?
That is a very violent and painful question, Zach.
I hate it.
It is.
I go back and forth on this one question.
a bit because the last thing I want to do is break up this offense at all right now with how
well the offense is playing so even talking brayton smith potentially walking hurts me to my core
but ale pierce as well especially with a d mitchell not really stepping up this year i think that's a
tough one there but imagine where this defense would be without nick cross this season with how
versatile he's been with him being able to fill multiple hats like in a lot of ways he's kind
of been like the tyler warren of the defense and being able to move across the defense in place
so many different hats like wear different hats for this team so in a in a perfect world you don't
have to choose between them but if they're both maybe pushing like 20 million dollars a year because
that's the nature of the salary cap now i think i would choose pierce slightly slightly choose pierce
over across but man that's tough i think i would choose peers just because i can't break up too much
of the offense i just got to keep this thing rolling and i think pierce like with the growth he's shown
this year i just i don't want to be i don't want to be the saints looking at tray hendrickson
with cincinnati being like that could have been us you know i don't want to see him go for
1 200 yards 1300 yards with another team saying that could have been us as he develops into a true
number one wide receiver so i think i would go alec pierce as of right now yeah that is oh god he's just
he's so good at what he does and he's legitimately you might be the
the best deep threat in the league now that Tyreek Hill is no longer Tyree Kill, essentially.
Now, for my money, Nick Cross is one of probably the top five strong safeties in the league.
He does not get discussed enough for what he does.
But, yeah, like, Pierce is just such a big play machine.
This is so tough because you drafted and developed and we're so patient with both these guys.
And now you're getting the fruit from that.
and it will be terrible to let either walk.
I will say I think the Colts were probably expecting
to be more likely to bring back cross next year versus Pierce,
but now that Pierce has continued to be awesome
and there isn't anyone behind him
who looks like they could replace him.
I think that playing field is leveled a little bit,
but to stop being a coward and answer the question,
I guess I'll say out of Pierce.
Yeah, how about both?
Let's just bring him both back.
I mean, I think, like, we can,
That's totally against the question.
Yeah, we can bring them both back.
I think the Colts will have tough decisions to make on Kenny and Zire Franklin after the year,
just in terms of, like, they can get out of those contracts and save some money.
And we'll see if they value cross more than both of those guys, especially with Kenny getting up there in age.
So we'll see.
We'll see if they have the money for it.
They can always make the money work.
You know, if you got to be committed, you can make the money work.
Yeah, that's true.
All right, let's do this next one.
Is there a point before the trade devline in a couple weeks where you'd
decide if Daniel Jones is the guy and then you shop Anthony for a defensive piece for the
playoff run or is that determination best made in the off season so I like unless they force
their way out Anthony's not getting traded this year yeah it would certainly be in the off season
there's no point trading him right now his value has never been lower no one's going to make a
and you're not going to get a defensive piece for Anthony Richardson as of right now
Whereas in the offseason, teams can talk themselves into them, and you can maybe get like a fifth or a six round pick for them.
You're not getting that in season form.
You're not getting a quality player.
So no, no, Richardson's not going to be traded this year.
Yeah.
And I don't think it's because they just have this firm grasp on them and they'll never let them go.
It just doesn't do much for them for the timing to be right now, especially with how good they are and could potentially make a Super Bowl run or a deep play.
off-run. Like, again, it's not crazy to say there's the number one team in the league right now.
Do you really want to ship off your backup quarterback? Like, it just, that's probably not a good
idea. So I would say no. If it, you know, if and when he departs, the Colts, it's probably
going to be more of an off-season thing. That was from PDP. This next one is not, is not
executing a trade at the deadline, a fireable offense for Chris Ballard. If the Colts immediately get
bounce from the playoffs that's from deep blue trucker that's intriguing i mean at this point ballard
and stuyken are ironclad i think uh they're they're coming back next year just because of what
the colts have done and ballard there's a lot of credit that chris ballard should get for this
turnaround as much as shame stuyken should get as well not making a trade i do think would not
be beneficial for them but in it that's tough because you look at like corner and defensive end
as like obvious issues and then if they get bounced like in the first or second round
the playoffs and you see those areas are why that looks terrible that's a terrible look but
I don't think it would get him fired so here's the thing I think if this were any other sport
but football you could say this right because in every other sport we see the trade dead
line used this way. In hockey, in baseball, basketball, like, this is what the trade deadline is used
for. In the NFL, the trade deadline has such a little impact on anything. The guys who are traded
at the trade deadline, for the most part, the sellers are winning those deals. And the buyers,
a lot of these times, these guys don't even, like, get playing time in the playoffs. They end up not
really being impact players. So, you know, we see so many people saying, like, go get Max
Crosby, we get Trey Hendrickton. Look, those guys aren't getting traded. That's just not.
how the NFL trade deadline works.
So the most you're going to get is like from a Dolphins team or a Jets team bailing on one
of their past rushers.
And maybe they can come in and be solid players for you guys.
But I don't like here's, I don't think that's going to make or break your season.
Don't get me wrong.
If you can still get like a Jalen Phillips in a day three pick swap type thing or even
if it's like a fourth round pick for Phillips or something like that, right?
I say go do it because you don't want to waste this offense and you deserve to push
some chips in and really go for it.
But it takes two to tango at the trade deadline.
And in the NFL teams just don't trade very often, especially at the trade deadline.
It's so hard to, so many moving pieces in season.
So again, if we're talking the NHL right now and we had a big gap on our third line left
winger and you don't make a trade at the deadline when there's 70 other trades being made
on the day before the trade deadline, then yeah, that's when we get on our general manager
for not doing it.
But in the NFL, when there's maybe four total trades that are made in season at best
across the league, I'm not going to kill a general manager for not getting one done because
most teams don't want to trade because even the bad teams in the NFL, if they have a coach
on the hot seat, they're not going to want to trade anybody because they have to win as many
games to sell themselves to their general manager to keep them another year, you know?
So you really only get like maybe three teams that are willing to sell anything during the
season. So I just, I don't think it's, it's that big a deal overall. Like I think the Colts are
on the phones right now. I think they're trying to get deals done because they really believe
in this offense. But at the end of the day, it takes two to tango. You need the other side to want
to make that deal. And in the NFL, we just don't see many trades. I love the idea of trades.
It's just, it doesn't happen very often in the NFL. I would say the biggest, one of the biggest
issues there is the price as well because when you're looking that the and again and again
the NFL season is different than the NBA or MLB or anything when you're in the middle of an
NFL season and a selling team is wanting the price that you would get like if you traded a guy
in the off season it's not a pro rated price they're really agreeing to you know what I mean like
they're especially a lot of guys that get traded are like in the last years of their deals
and the asking price is just too high for a player you might only get for eight more games.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
And so the Raiders would probably want like two firsts or like a first and two seconds or something for Max Crosby.
And then even then I don't know why, because the thing is, like they would look at it and be like,
would those picks ever get us a Max Crosby again?
Right.
No, they're not going to get you a Max Crosby.
And it's not like he's super old.
Like if he were like 35, sure.
like he's in the prime of his career you could you could rebuild the team twice over and still
have him in his prime you know they're not trading max crosbie like come on the cowboys are
finding that out the hard way by trying to get max crosby after letting micha the cowboys are
weird okay there's there are outliers to everything the cowboys are weird but most teams
don't trade really good edge rushers that's why the colds have been struggling to get one for so
long because edge rushers are really hard to find yeah just foolish just
foolish. Okay, so this last one here, we kind of just touched on it a little bit, but
if there is one trade the Colts must do before the NFL trade line, what is it? That's from
Nap Town Sports Plug, Big J. All right, Big J. I think it's just, you know, put your feelers out
there to certain teams that might be willing to sell. And if there's a veteran that you
identify, like, just don't give up, like don't, I wouldn't go into day two very often because
the Colts still need their draft picks to keep revamping this roster when they inevitably
lose people in this off season.
But, you know, if you see like a day three pick swap opportunity or you can trade like
a fourth or a fifth for a player into seventh or a player in a sixth, you know, I think that
those type of moves can be beneficial to the team because, again, this is a historically great
offense right now.
And you don't want the defense to be something that holds it back.
So if there is an opportunity to, again, like, if you can get Jalen Phillips, like send
a fourth and get Phillips into seventh back, you know, yes, you are losing some value, but you're
still getting a pick back and you're getting that upgrade needed for this season, I think that
could be worth it, you know, or, you know, even if it's a smaller, like Alante Taylor from the Saints
for like a fifth or a sixth, you know, I think those could be worth it. So I'm not saying, like,
go into a shell and refuse to make trades, but at the end of the day, we have to acknowledge
what the market probably is. It's going to be like day three type, type deals. But I think there
could be something out there for the Colts to improve this team. It's just don't go crazy with it, I
think you know and this isn't me trying to be passive it's just you got to know the market you know
and and if if something doesn't pan out then they still got to figure out something with corner
because again jake and i our trials aren't going well but eventually they'll sign us to the
practice squad jake we have a lot of heart and spirit but now for me if i had to make one move
i'd go get an edge rusher get like uh or try to get an edge rusher like jalen phillips
germane johnson uh from the jets or like baron browning from the cardinal
that we've discussed, you're probably not going to be able to shoot for the stars on anybody.
Doesn't mean you don't ask, don't try.
But if you can get like a mid-level pass rusher, that's kind of what you need.
And I spoke about the other day, like now that ebcom has hurt week-to-week,
your standards for what you need at edge have now kind of lowered.
Because now you need just guys that can play at a decent level rather than before you needed
like a difference maker.
But now you just need somebody capable providing some pass.
rush. Oh, man, please give me
Baron Browning. That would be, that's my dream.
I would like that, yeah. Lou drops his
defensive ends into coverage so much. What was
Barron Browning in college? He was an inside linebacker.
I think that would be so much. But
I don't want to fantasize too much and get my heartbroken. But I think
this Colts team, regardless, is going to be in a good place.
Their offense is scoring 33 points per game.
I think they're going to be fine
the rest of this season. But we're going to thank you guys for making
