Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward-Carnell Tate Connection Must Continue to GROW at Tennessee Titans OTAs & Absences to Watch

Episode Date: May 28, 2026

The Tennessee Titans would get a massive boost this season if Cam Ward and Carnell Tate's connection from the first week of OTAs is something that is consistent all year. That consistency is what is b...uilt right now, the chemistry is created during this time period. Hearing Cam and Tate kept it rolling would be the best thing to come out of Friday's practice. The Titans are also hoping to see the secondary step up as well after a seemingly offensive dominated session last week. With the secondary being a quiet concern, this is something to monitor. The young linebacker group is also something we need to keep an eye on as Robert Saleh's history could lead to big jumps here. Finally, the undrafted free agents the Titans brought in have a chance to shine in these situations and it is the first step of making a roster. Also, some Titans missed last week and the hope is they are back out on the field, like Femi Oladejo, Chim Dike and Elic Ayomanor.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop...   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LockedOnTitans   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 The Tennessee Titans are back out on the practice field on Friday, and the Cam Ward to Cornell-Tate connection must continue to grow. We'll talk about that, plus what else I have my eye on on today's edition of Locked-on Titans. You are Locked-on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked-on Podcast Network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans, on today's show.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I'm going to tell you what I'm going to have my eye on as the Tennessee Titans hold their next open practice of organized team activities. We'll talk about the people who missed last week, who I'm hoping to see back out on the field this week, like Femi Oladayjo. Also, we'll talk about the secondary because all of the hype about Carnell Tate had a lot of people wondering, well, does this mean bad things for the secondary?
Starting point is 00:00:58 So we'll talk about what to look at there. But we have to start with what I ultimately hope is the storyline again coming out of this week's practice, and that's the Cam Ward to Carnell Tate connection because of what it will mean to the Tennessee Titans as a team. That connection between those two players has the chance to elevate the Tennessee Titans season to the next level. Whatever the season is going to be, whatever the base level for the Tennessee Titans is right now, whether that is five wins, six wins, seven wins, eight wins, whatever it is, if Cam Ward and Carnell Tate can truly turn into an top-tier NFL duo,
Starting point is 00:01:45 the ceiling becomes uncapped. Anything is possible at that point. A 12 and 5, 13 and 4 division-winning run is possible at that point. If Carnell Tate and Cam Ward are going to be Pooka, Matt Stafford, Jamar Chase, and Joe Burrow, if they're going to be a connection like that, and there are other connections around the league that you could probably put into that conversation,
Starting point is 00:02:10 but just to keep it brief, if they're going to turn into one of the NFL's best duos, then the Titans' offense becomes a different animal entirely. And again, that is from a big picture level. That is from a, oh, this is going to make everything more difficult to defend, this is going to mean the Titans' offense is going to be more productive. I think, more points because that connection is hot
Starting point is 00:02:34 and they can dominate at any point in time no matter how good or bad things are. They always have that to rely on. It opens up everything for everybody else and gives a guy like Wondale Robinson and Calvin Ridley and Gunner Helm and Chim Dike and the run game. It gives everybody else an opportunity to win
Starting point is 00:02:50 because you got to pay attention to this combination right here. It's gravity. Literally it's gravity bending chemistry between Cam Ward and Cornell Tate. If that is what we are going to get this year, again, all bets are all for the time. Titans. Now you drill in even further to kind of the micro view. If that's the macro view of things, the micro view of within the scheme, something that I will continue to hammer home.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Now throughout the season, is it manifests everything. The isolated situations is what Brian Dable is trying to create in his offense because he typically has that player who can win in those isolated situations. He had Stefan Diggs, he had Malik neighbors. He wants that guy. And if you even look, even at some of the, some of the lesser talented players, who he's used like a Lil Jordan Humphrey, for example, was used in that isolation wide receiver role after all of the injuries really hammered the New York Giants last year in the middle of the season, obviously Malik neighbors, but there were other injuries in there as well
Starting point is 00:03:49 that challenged their depth. So you have a guy like little Jordan Humphrey out there. But again, Brian Dable's offense requires a player who can win in isolated situations because he is so good at crafting those isolated situations. So you can look at it from a macro level of, you know, the connection affects everybody else. It just generally means more points, better offense. Cam Ward gets better, all of that.
Starting point is 00:04:11 But within the scheme of the offense, it makes everything else go. If you have that receiver that can win those isolated situations, because then what happens is if you get beat in your particular defensive rules, often enough, you are going to have to change your defensive rules. And if you're having defenses, change who they are at the core and their rules of their defense. in the middle of the game because you're shredding what their bread and butter is, that's when you have people beat.
Starting point is 00:04:41 When what they do is not going to work and they're going to have to try something else, that's when you have them beat. And also from Cam Ward's perspective, like, to give Cam Ward an outlet that he can always trust and always go to, that's why I made such a big deal of the touchdown pass highlight that the Tennessee Titans actually released from OTAs, where Cam Ward's looking to his right, comes back left,
Starting point is 00:05:05 hits Carnell Tate in the back of the end zone on the backside dig route. Like, if Cam Ward knows no matter what, hey, this ain't open, where's Carnell? That sort of element in Cam Ward's development is why these number one wide receivers have been considered so, so critical to the development of the star quarterbacks in this league.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Having a Tyree kill for Patrick Mahomes early on in his career, getting Stefan Diggs for a Josh Allen, a Jamar Chase, for a Joe Burrow. That's where the argument for Lamar Jackson comes in because they never really got him that guy, right? Zayflower was a good player, but that's an NFL-related discussion, but just saying while we're there, quick tangent, quick side note, intrusive thought coming out. But again, there's so many examples of, hey, look at Sam Darnel.
Starting point is 00:05:55 They got Sam Darnel Justin Jefferson in Minnesota. They gave him JSN and he just went crazy with a good play card. So that combination right there, it's not just about, oh, it would be cool to have a wide receiver be good for once, a homegrown wide receiver, a first round wide receiver, a pick hit, that high in the draft, cool position, flashy position for it to finally work out for the Titans. That in itself, Cam Ward turned into a real quarterback in the NFL, which I already think he is, but it being proven this year with help from Carnal Tate. All of that in and of itself is awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:28 but when you consider the domino effect of what that would mean for the Titans offense, that's really where the excitement comes in for me because of everything that that would represent. If Cardinal Tate and Cam Ward have a miraculous season together, there's no way that the Titans are going to have a bad year. You know what I mean? Like, that doesn't mean they're going to make the playoffs. It doesn't, you know, it doesn't mean the greatest thing ever happened.
Starting point is 00:06:52 But the Titans aren't only going to win four games if Cardnell Tate and Cam Ward go for 1,200 yards together. And Cam throws for close to 4. 4,000. You know what I mean? Like, that's not, the math does not math on that. So, it just means great things. Now, outside of the Cam Ward Carnell-Take connection, which, again, it doesn't need to be two touchdowns like it was last week or three touchdowns, whatever you want to believe, but just continue to keep it rolling. But Gunner Helm, I, you know, we saw the reports. Gunner Hell made a couple of catches last week,
Starting point is 00:07:25 got them down by the end zone, tip catch. This, like, I think that Gunner Helm, again, and I talked about it earlier this week, I think Gunner Helm is going to be vitally important to this offense. And I think he's going to take a massive step forward. And his skill set and Carnel Tate's skill set together, it's literally exactly what you want to pair with Cam Ward the gunslinger, these big-bodied, sure-handed, tall targets to throw it up to. Like, it's literally the perfect skill set of a weapon to go with Cam Ward's
Starting point is 00:07:53 gunsling mentality where he may not put it in the perfect spot every single time. But he's going to get it there in situate. where most of the quarterbacks couldn't even get it close. That honestly would be the best way that I could describe Campbell. He's a gunslinger who may not be the most pinpoint accurate ball placement quarterback in the NFL. That's never going to be his strength. But there are passes that he can get to his wide receivers,
Starting point is 00:08:21 even if they're not perfectly located, that other quarterbacks could never even get the ball there. So it may not be perfect, but he creates a, opportunities for his receivers that other quarterbacks simply cannot create. And I will take opportunity creation over opportunity perfection every time because I would rather have more big play opportunities knowing that I'll have more chances than to count on the few chances that I have to go perfect because they're not going to go perfect in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:08:53 So the guy that gives you more opportunities is the guy who you want under center. and that's Cam Ward. He's going to give you more opportunities. And that's what's most important to create explosive plays. So Gunner Helm is going to be part of that and he fits perfect with Cam Ward. I've been bullish on Gunner Helm since he was drafted.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I live on Nightmare on Helm Street. I'm ready for this big blowup. Remember I was the one telling you it's coming. And just more Brian Daibble in general, right? Coming out of OTAs, can I just get more Brian Daibble? When he was in Wondale Robinson's miced-up video that the Titans released on their YouTube channel.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Just such a fun character. And hearing descriptions from him at practice about, you know, how, what's the word that I'm looking for? Animated. How animated Brian Daibel is during practice. I just think his energy, his leadership, his fire, his passion.
Starting point is 00:09:47 It's going to be so good for this franchise and it really needs a kickstart of emotion. So I just want more Brian Daibel out of OTAs on Friday. But talking to all that Carnel Tate and wide receiver and this and that, We got to talk about the Titan secondary. Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by game time. We can stream anything.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Order food and minutes. Do everything from our phones. And somehow buying tickets to live events still feels way harder than it should be. There's long lines, confusing checkouts, prices jumping at the last second. It shouldn't be that complicated, but that is why there is game time. It gives fans the advantage and makes getting tickets fast and simple. I was just looking at tickets for an upcoming game on the Titan schedule, and it literally took me only minutes to find great options,
Starting point is 00:10:35 and they have the best features in the industry. Panoramic view from your seat so you know what you're going to be looking at. Upfront pricing, so there's no surprise fees at checkout. Take the guesswork out of buying tickets to any type of event with Game Time. Starting point is 00:11:02 Let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast previewing Tennessee Titans OTAs. It'll be the second open practice that the Tennessee Titans have had in this phase of the all season on Friday. Can't wait. I'm going to be here to break it all down with you guys after practice takes place. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. Remember Monday through Friday Tennessee Titans content all year round. for free. Again, like I said, get subscribe, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. Speaking of every day, shout it to my everydayers out there. Tuning in Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys. If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one.
Starting point is 00:11:56 There's going to be more OTAs through the next couple of weeks. Mandatory minicamp is the second week of June. So much to discuss before we get into the dead period of the summer. So make sure again, they stay locked in with the number one Tennessee Titan podcast in the world. Locked on Titans. But last week, we talked about Cornell Tate going crazy. there's two different kinds of Titans fans' reactions. Okay? Number one is, yay,
Starting point is 00:12:21 Cornell Tate. Our first round pick, our quarterback, looked good. That's exciting. That was my reaction. That's what I think the reaction should be. That would be what I say. But I'm not going to tell you how to fan,
Starting point is 00:12:38 and fans are going to fan, and I have my moments of negativity, as all of you know, is well documented. Everything I feel and think. about this team every second of the day is documented and thrown back at me, but that's the nature of the beast, I suppose. But some people,
Starting point is 00:12:54 in their negativity, instantly thought, oh, so our secondary sucks. Oh, so the secondary's bad. And I'm just like, why does it have to be that? Why can't the secondary not suck and be a disaster and blah, blah, blah, all the things that people were saying,
Starting point is 00:13:13 and Cardinal Tate and Cammore just had a good day. In a perfect world, if the Titans are actually improved, and if the Titans are actually a good team, the defense and the offense would both have good days. So if I'm going, Cam Ward went crazy. Well, maybe the day before that,
Starting point is 00:13:32 when the media wasn't at practice, the defense won. We don't know. So it's, I feel like at this time in the off season, I have more tolerance for people to skew positive than negative. Like, if you don't have hope for the team right now, if you don't at least have some optimism that the team could improve, I am not the most optimistic Titans fan of all time.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Like I was just saying, you guys know, I lean towards pessimism. I am a more pessimistic fan. If you lined every Titans fan up from, we're winning the Super Bowl and winning every game every year or two, will never win again, I'm more closer to the never win again. Like I admit, I am a pessimist. But I just don't understand how your instant reaction
Starting point is 00:14:21 to every good thing, Cam had a good day, Tate had a good day, oh, the other side is going to be disastrous. Because again, in a perfect world, if the Titans are a good team, both sides will have wins. The defense will have good days.
Starting point is 00:14:38 The offense will have good days. And it'll balance out. Because they're both good units. And iron sharpens iron. And if you put good against good, it shouldn't be a sweep. It should be a seven-game series or six at least to use a basketball reference.
Starting point is 00:14:53 With the finals on the way, of course. But, like, maybe the secondary is bad. I talked about it as a quiet concern. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that the secondary is going to be good. I have no certainties of that. That is outside of the offensive line. The Titan secondary is the biggest concern on the team for me.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I get that. But Carnell Tate was a top five pick. We're hoping Carnell Tate is awesome. And him and Cam Ward can be all this stuff that we just talked about. If they are that, then them having a good day doesn't mean that the secondary is bad, especially in 7-on-7s and OTA team-jointed. drills where you don't have pads on so the pass rush isn't real.
Starting point is 00:15:44 That's not fair to the secondary either. These are drills that are set up for the offense to win because the things that win for the defense aren't really allowed. Physicality, pass rush. So there's more time and more safety for the quarterback and the offense and the wide receivers who know that they're not going to get hit over the middle and things like that. So it's like you should take everything with a grain of salt.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You can't ignore everything. But, you know, you could be excited about Carnell Tate having a good day and Cam Ward and Carnell Tate and their potential connection. While also not immediately saying, oh, it's because the secondary sucks. Because I don't know if the Titan secondary sucks right now. And to assume that, I don't think that's fair, even if I'm concerned about it, even if it's a quiet concern. But again, Alante Taylor, Cordell Flott. Flot wasn't at practice last week. Hopefully Cordell Flott is back.
Starting point is 00:16:42 and we can get the Titans full secondary because outside of Cordell Flot, it seemed like everybody was there. Alante Taylor is the boundary cornerback. He's going to play outside, closer to the boundary, based on the hash marks. He's going to press at the line of scrimmage,
Starting point is 00:16:58 play tight zone coverage, essentially, and some of the zone coverages in Robert Salas' defense turn into man coverage on the outside. He's going to be physical, play on the boundary, fit the run, and keep contained, and then Cordell Flott is going to be the field cornerback. He's going to be off the line of scrimmage, not in press. He's going to play on the field side.
Starting point is 00:17:21 He's not as physical as Alante Taylor on the weak side, but he's still going to be responsible with containing, at least and pushing it back inside. Less space for Alante Taylor's side on the boundary means he's going to be required to do more. More space, you can kind of just hang outside and push inside and wait on your teammates to flow that way. But boundary, boom.
Starting point is 00:17:42 you're right there, you've got to make the play now. Okay? So, they're in place if Flot is back. Marcus Harris has been there. Marcus Harris is inside at slot cornerback. The Wondell Robinson miced up video that we talked about earlier that the Titans put out.
Starting point is 00:17:58 I love the miced up videos. That is exactly, me as a fan of the team, that is exactly the type of content that I want is the micd up videos. Get me closer to the action. Let me learn who these players are, these coaches are, their personalities, they interact with each other, what their personality is like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:18:16 Like how they react to certain plays, good and bad, and how the other people around them. And I'll be honest, I comb through all those videos with a fine-tooth comb. I'm like, you know, going frame by frame, trying to look at the lineups and stuff. Maybe that's why they don't put out as much of that stuff. But why do they hide everything as much as they do? Other teams that are even the good teams in the NFL. So you can't say it's a competitive thing aren't as hidden and as secretive as the Titans are with their media. so it's like, who cares if we know that Austin Shlopman
Starting point is 00:18:45 and Cordell Voleson are starting at Wright Garden Center right now. Who cares? You know, how's that going to hurt the Titans in the fall? Yeah, I don't know. Whatever. I get into that tangent all the time. But at safety, Winston's been there. Hooker's been there.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Adams has been there. You can tell because you can see them in the OTA videos that the Titans put out. I know everybody's jerseys. Hooker's there. Winston has been there. He's in the huddles by Cam Ward and stuff. Adams is there. So if Cordell Flott is back,
Starting point is 00:19:20 that means that the Tennessee Titans basically have their starting secondary at these OTAs. And even if the drills are slanted for the offense, which they absolutely are, we talked about it earlier. They favor the offense.
Starting point is 00:19:35 It's the Titans starting secondary out there. I want to see them make some plays too. So it's like, I feel like, and maybe some of you guys don't see this because we live in an extreme society where everything is to the extreme. But me saying I want to see more plays from the secondary this week than what we saw last week. I didn't hear much about anybody in the Titans starting secondary making a play.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I heard a little bit about Josh Williams, though, off the cuff. Josh Williams, remember, came over from Kansas City, was a special teams player for Kansas City last year, got some opportunities the year before that. Six-foot-3 fast corner. I think Mike Borgonzi loves him. Let's see how much run he's getting here. I heard some about him doing okay.
Starting point is 00:20:16 But you can say, I want to hear more about the Titans starting secondary making some plays. Let's get Kevin Whitson interception or, you know, Alante Taylor makes a big pass breakup on Carnell Tate or something like that. Without meaning the secondary sucks, let's panic. It's still a concern. Let's see some progress. Let's give them another opportunity.
Starting point is 00:20:39 all I'm saying is there's no need to head to panic right now. Don't press the panic button on the secondary quite yet. I don't think that's necessary. Now, down a level to the linebackers, I got my eye on the linebackers. The young linebackers last week, Cedric Gray, Anthony Hill, James Williams,
Starting point is 00:20:58 everybody made some sort of play. Aunt Hill had the pick six interception, which they called it a pick six. But I think if it was alive, they put the video out. If it was live, I think he would have been tackled by one of the office. offensive players on the sideline who kind of did a fake wrap-up on him.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Now, in practice, you're taught to run to the end zone no matter what in those scenarios. So he did that, but it wouldn't have been a pick six. He would at least take in contact. Unless he's prime Barry Sanders making people miss. He's Derek Henry out here. He's a linebacker, not a running back for a reason. So I'm going to say nay. But let's keep seeing those linebackers, make plays.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Because, again, Robert Sala has a specialty with linebackers. and if the Titans young linebacker group can all take their individual steps forward, Gray can become one of the best linebackers in the NFL. Hill can be a starting linebacker in year one. Williams can be a rotational linebacker that can get out there on the field. If they all take steps, the Titans could have a pretty good young linebacker core right away when it looked like it wasn't all that great just last year. So I love hearing that.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Let's see those linebackers make some more plays. But with that being said, there were players who were, absent last week from Titans OTAs, who I want to see back out there asap. And it starts with Femiola Day Show. And let's cap off today's edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast. Again, we're previewing the next Tennessee Titans Open OTA taking place on Friday. And I'm going to be here after practice going live on the YouTube channel. Podcast will come out immediately after breaking down everything that took place.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Probably 3, 4 p.m. Eastern time, I would imagine. just do 5 o'clock, catch everybody when they're getting off work and everything like that. It'll happen in the afternoon after practice. But very excited for that to take place. But before we continue diving into what I'm looking for at that next practice, do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day. If you're going to be a true every day or you've got to check out the Locked on Titans every day or club, hit the link down below in the description.
Starting point is 00:23:21 You're going to get commercial-free versions of the podcast and your favorite podcast app. You're going to get added to the Locked on Titans group chat with me and a bunch of other everydayers. You can submit your mailbag questions there. Ask me direct questions. You can holler at all the other everydayers about everything Titans. We talk about everything NFL as well. Really love that group chat. It's a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:23:41 So make sure that you guys join the Lockedon Titans Every Dayer Club today. But Femiola Deja was watching practice last week with a cutoff shirt over by the buildings or something like that. He needs to be out there. Femi missed enough. time last year with the leg break, came back, they didn't activate him, they just let him practice. With that, I was assuming he would be good to go for the all season. And maybe he has been, maybe it was a minor tweak, maybe it was something unrelated to injury, who freaking knows. But all I know is is that Femiola-Dazio cannot afford any more missed reps.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Not a single one. Not a walkthrough, not a stretch, not an individual team, special teams, 7-7. I don't care. Every single possible football he's lifted enough weights, he's in good enough shape, it's this, it's that, the playbook, blah, blah, blah, I don't care, he needs to get out on the field. If Femi is not at practice on Friday, it is officially a concern.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Because, you know, and there's going to be the casual, expected response of, oh, this doesn't matter. and again, I could not feel different. And if you are a young person, heed the words, everything matters.
Starting point is 00:25:05 It's the total opposite. Do not let lazy people convince you that caring is bad. Because that's what those people want. They want you to think that every rep in May OTAs doesn't matter. They want you to think training camp and preseason games don't matter and lifting at 5 a.m.
Starting point is 00:25:28 and getting your runs and none of this stuff matters because they don't want you to do it because they're not going to. That's how I feel about it. So you can say, oh, it's just OTAs. It doesn't matter. Maybe if you're Jeffrey Simmons and you've been one of the best players in the NFL, but outside of Big Jeff, John Franklin Myers, maybe Tony Pollard,
Starting point is 00:25:53 those are the only players on this team that I would say have afforded themselves the opportunity to not be out on the field if they are able. I mean, Ridley missed time last year. He's got to earn it. Everybody else is young and unproven. The offensive line needs to gel together
Starting point is 00:26:11 so Pete, Dan Moore wasn't out there. He needs to be back. The offensive line needs to gel together. They need as many reps as possible to gain chemistry with a new unit. It is critically important that the offensive line is at its best immediately. And that means chemistry and connectivity.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Be at OTAs, Dan Moore. You are nowhere near good enough to not be there for anything other than a legitimate reason. I'm not saying that, you know, your mom died and there's a funeral. No, be at practice. Like, I'm not being unreasonable. I'm just saying you better not be with your personal trainer
Starting point is 00:26:47 or, you know, on vacation or something like that. Get your butt to work. Okay. So, again, I don't ever listen to, oh, it doesn't matter. Everything matters. Every single second. And if it didn't, then what would be the point in doing it? You never know what minute of your training might matter.
Starting point is 00:27:08 You never know what conversation with your teammate may be the one to create that chemistry. You never know that breakthrough where you go against cover four man on the outside and you run a double post route and you see the safety move and it slows down in that moment and it finally clicks. You never know which moments are going to be those moments. That's why everything matters to create those moments. So Femi needs to be out there on the field, okay? Like, that's all I got to say about that.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Same thing with I.O. Manor and Chim Dike, I'm not as passionate about them as I am Femi because Femmy is a development player who had two new players added with premium assets. They traded for Jermaine Johnson and they traded up into the first round to get Keldrick Fault. If that can't light a fire under Femi, I don't know what will.
Starting point is 00:28:04 So it's a little different for I.O. and Chim who contributed it and aren't as much of a project per se last season. I want to see Calvin Ridley out there as well coming back from that injury. I know he's a veteran, but there's enough wide receivers out there to put him in a good rotation, so you're not overworking Calvin Ridley. But with all the time that he missed last year, and Cornell
Starting point is 00:28:26 Tate now being the primary target on offense, Ridley needs to adjust to that. I talked about Cordell Flot. I talked about Dan Moore. The last person that I want to mention here is Nick Singleton. Not yet out there on the field. Not yet participating. Something to keep an eye on. I hope he's ready for training camp.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Because I really do think they're going to need it. And that's a big reason why Tony Pollard is probably earned the to miss some time if he wants to. But with Nick Singleton out, you probably need Tony Pollard in there for the numbers. You know what I mean? Like running back is a perfect example of Tony Pollard doesn't need to go out there and grind in the middle of May.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Veteran only running back in the NFL outside of Derek Henry with four straight thousand-yard seasons. If anybody, again, if there are any players on this team that I think have earned the right to just not be there because they don't want to, it's Big Jeff, John Franklin Myers, and Tony Pollard. And that's it for me. But even so, Big Jeff,
Starting point is 00:29:26 they could use your leadership, man. It's early on in the culture. It's early on in the process. And I know that Jeff has been out there. It's not like Jeff has missed every OTA or anything like that. There have been videos and pictures and stuff like that of him being present. But would still like as we get closer to mandatory minicamp
Starting point is 00:29:42 for Jeff to have a presence because it's bigger than football with Jeffrey Simmons in the building. But with that being said, also, I hope you guys like the thumbnail if you're watching on YouTube. Definitely 100% not Photoshop. That's a real picture of Cardo Tate and Cam Ward. I swear, don't fact check that. Don't look it up. All right, just believe me.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Anyway, that's going to do it for me today, though, folks. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
