Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward COOKS THE CHIEFS in Tennessee Titans BLOWOUT WIN & Draft Pick Reality Setting in For Titans
Episode Date: December 21, 2025The Tennessee Titans got a blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs and Cam Ward was the shining star. Ward had his moments of struggle, but hit big-time throw after big-time throw against the Chiefs s...tarting defense and that makes this win a great one for the team. Not only did Ward ball out, but he got help from all the people you wanted to see. Both rookie receivers, Elic Ayomanor and Chim Dike, contributed while the offensive line and running backs made big plays. James Williams and Jaylen Harrell also continued to show promise as depth players for the future. Finally, the Titans win does hurt the draft pick, but the reality is the Titans are still in shape to get a really good player and becoming competitive isn't only possible by getting a trade down. Players like Arvell Reese, Reuben Bain, Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate and David Bailey will all be possible options even after the win. On today's show, we are going to break down the Tennessee Titans victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
It was an excellent win for the Titans, even if Patrick Mahomes didn't play because Cam Ward absolutely could.
the Kansas City Chiefs defense. Not only that, but he got some big time help from some very
important players to the future, including the rookie wide receivers, the offensive line, some
guys on defense. We're going to talk about all that. Plus, except the reality of the Tennessee
Titans draft pick, which as you probably know from this win is most likely not going to be
number one. And that is okay. I'll explain why. Now, before we get into all of it,
I do want to thank you for making Locked-on Titans
your first listen each and every day
and thank you for making the Locked-on Podcast Network,
the number one sports podcast network.
Do want to shout out my everydayers out there.
Tune in Monday through Friday.
Couldn't do it without you guys.
If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one.
The Tennessee Titans got some updates on the head coaching search over the weekend.
We're going to be going over that on tomorrow's show.
So make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed.

But speaking of being locked in,
Cam Ward was locked in after halftime.
Look, before halftime,
Cam was a little scattershot.
It wasn't his best performance,
but coming out of halftime,
going into the third quarter,
Cam Ward had understood what the Kansas City Chiefs
were trying to do to him on defense
with the pressure looks, with the man coverage,
and he just started to absolutely attack.
We got big shots to Elyke-I-O-Manner.
Finally, another Elyke-I-O-Manner sideline dime,
which we haven't seen and felt like a few months now.
He hit a big pass.
That scramble play where he's under pressure in the pocket.
He backs up.
He hits Chim Dekay down the left-hand sideline floating back.
Like we literally got all of it late.
You get the pressure on the blitz against man coverage,
throws the out route to Van Jefferson to keep the chains moving on third down.
Like this was a great performance from Cam Ward.
Yes, not his best performance in the first half.
But it's what's impressive to me is Cam Ward,
and we talked about this, where he is making improvements.
so much better handling the football, avoiding the turnovers,
so much more consistent on the simple stuff,
running the offense, hitting the screens,
hitting the little ones to keep the drives moving.
He's just playing professional quarterback so much better
and then as he gets more comfortable
and starts to hit some of these bigger plays down the field
that we've been talking about
and the deep accuracy improves,
which is one of his weaknesses right now,
as that becomes an improvement for him
and he starts to hit on those more,
well, that's where you get the complete picture
of a great quarterback that Cam Ward can be.
Again, 21 for 28, 228 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 sacks.
Both of them came in the first half, a 122.3 quarterback rating in this game.
He took off and ran a couple of times, especially there on one late in the second half
where he's able to use his legs.
He just looked so comfortable throughout the game.
And that really right there is the basis of why this is a good win.
I'm not going to do this thing that you guys want to do where it's like,
oh, what a pointless, what a meaningless win, what a dumb win.
What did you want the Titans to do?
Did you want the Titans to literally radio down the Cam Ward's helmet and say,
Cam, take a drop back and throw this straight out of bounds.
Don't try to win.
Guys, the reason that I told you I feel differently about the end of the season this year
than I have in previous years is because these are players that are going to matter to the future.
This isn't a lame duck regime on their way out.
These are players that are important.
Cam Ward at the center of that.
I said throughout that a good win for the Titans down the stretch
is where they play well as a team
and Cam Ward plays well and wins.
And that's exactly what happened.
Cam Ward was great in this game.
Cam Ward had a fantastic game.
He drove the Titans down the field.
He made big plays to keep the chains moving.
This was a team win.
This was a complete team win.
This is different to me than the Cleveland Browns game.
I don't think that Cam Ward played that well
in that Cleveland Browns game.
He didn't play absolutely terrible, but he didn't play that well.
And he got outplayed by Shador Sanders, but the Titans won.
And it felt like, you know, this is a good win, I'm happy, blah, blah, blah, but it wasn't great.
No, this is a good win.
And let me say this, because you already know what you're going to hear from the haters.
You're going to hear, oh, that was Kansas City without Patrick Mahomes.
And I said before the game, this is like a lose-lose situation for the Titans,
because if they win, everybody's going to say, oh,
well, it was without Patrick Mahomes, and it's not that good.
And if they lose, everybody's going to say,
oh, you lost to Kansas City's backup, you suck, blah, blah, blah, blah.
So it was a lose, lose.
But somehow, I think the Tennessee Titans found a way for this to be a win,
it's because Cam Ward played so well.
He was cooking in this game, especially again after halftime.
Now, I don't think he was perfect in this game.
I'm going to be the first person to be honest with you guys
about what we saw he was not perfect in this game.
There were a couple of throws, and I felt like it were the easy throws, the layups.
Cam was just a little less than locked in, I will say, on some of the layups.
There was a quick throw out to Chigacanquo that was real low
and didn't allow him to keep his momentum going.
A little outside on that one to Chim D.K.
That everybody freaked out and said, it hit his hands.
Well, even if he catches it, he's going out of bounds two yards short of the fourth down
because Cam threw it a little too outside.
You know, there were a couple of plays on the Chigacquo one where he tossed it out of bounds.
Some people said, oh, he was throwing it away.
I think he was just a little high on the throw.
So it wasn't perfect, and I would like to see the down-to-down accuracy
and focus from Cam Moore be there.
But again, he's a rookie.
The down-to-down focus, stay in, hey, these are all important throws.
Keep your mechanics, keep your footwork route, be locked in the whole time.
That is what's going to take time.
But in this game, we saw all the flashes.
And he put together a solid game performance
and to see all the flashes
and to put together the solid game that he did
and the Tennessee Titans
have scored over 20 points
4 out of 5 games now
like the offense has been much better
this is a professional football team
and I know that some of you are mad about the win
and mad about the draft pick
and we're going to talk about the pick
but I got to tell you guys
I am out of place now with the draft pick situation
where the reality is
if the Titans aren't getting the number 1
one overall pick and being able to trade down and that's already out the window,
then I don't really see that big of a difference between pick three and pick seven.
You know, like looking at the players.
So I'm going to talk about that at the end of the show.
But again, Cam Ward was great in this game.
Young players, important players for the Tennessee Titans future were great in this game.
The Kansas City Chiefs were without Patrick Mahomes.
But they had a lot of their starters on the offensive line.
Trace Smith was out there. Creed Humphrey was out there.
And that old roly-poly guy, man, he was nervous, wasn't he?
Poor guy. Kansas City's left tackle, old roly-poly.
It was a tough time for him out there, no doubt about it.
But look at the Kansas City Chief's defense.
I saw Chris Jones. I saw George Carloftus.
I saw Nick Bolton out there.
That was the Chief's starting defense.
Yeah, they were missing a few pieces.
But that was their starting defense.
A top 10 defense in the NFL, and Cam Ward lit them up in the
Titans offense lit them up and took it to them.
And they had two fourth downs that they didn't get
where it should have been even worse.
And what a despicable job by the referees
to call back Tony Pollard's touchdown at the end
and say Jeffrey Simmons didn't report ineligible.
He literally did this and the referee sees him do it.
They lied.
In saying the Titans should have had a 30 bomb.
How are we going to be?
Again, the point here is,
What is actually more important to the Tennessee Titans future?
The players on the team that are going to be important next year
to be good and play well and get better and improve
or for the Titans that have pick three instead of pick five.
Pick four instead of pick six.
Pick two instead of pick five.
Think to yourself, the actual truth.
I had somebody say to me online, what a meaningless win.
What is actually more meaningful?
The actual football players who are on the team to get better and play well?
Or the draft pick?
The truth is, Cam Ward being good, Chim D.K., Alec Ayo Manor.
The Titans' offensive line, which is most likely going to be together next year.
The young players on defense proven themselves.
That is what is actually meaningful.
So, shout out to the Titans.
a home win for the first time in over a year.
Cam Ward cooks against the starting defense of the Chiefs
and he got a lot of help from some other players on the team
and that's who I want to talk about now.

Titans fans, let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
We talked about Cam Ward absolutely cooking the Kansas City Chiefs,
why that makes this win over the Chiefs very enjoyable and not a problem.
I'm going to talk about why I'm also excited about this win
because all of the other people who helped get this win for the Titans
that are important to the future also.
we will talk about the draft pick reality and why, guys, it's going to be fine.
And I'm going to be very detailed as to why I think it's going to be fine for the Titans
and it has all to do with the players at the top of the draft.
Now, I do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans.
You're at first, listen each and every day.

Got a lot to talk about tomorrow show.
I'm going to be talking about the big reports that came out about the Tennessee Titans coaching search over the weekend.
We got more reports, more rumors.
Matt Nagy still involved. God, it's making me angry.
We're going to talk about that tomorrow.
So make sure, again, that you get subscribed.
Stay subscribed to your team every day.
But the rookie wide receivers stepped up in a big moment.
Obviously, there have been ups and downs all year.
Chim D.K. has had drops.
Elic Ayo Manor has had drops.
There are two rookie fourth round wide receivers
who got expectations probably put on them a little too high, too early on.
But Elico Manor, three catches, 58 yards,
finally has the big back-shoulder fade on the right-hand sideline that we've been waiting for.
I haven't seen that since it felt like week two against the Rams when he had that one
and then instantly into the big touchdown.
Cam Ward's first touchdown throw of his career.
But Iow Manor steps up, makes some big catches.
He hits the corner route into the red zone later in the game to get the Titans down for another score.
Chim Dike, three catches, 40 yards, big catch down the field, has the touchdown.
He's just unguardable, quite frankly, on some of these short ones.
yes, he had the drop as well where it touched his hands.
I don't think it would have made a difference in the Titan's circumstances for him to catch that,
but nonetheless, whatever, seeing both of those guys find a way to make plays,
make big plays in the game.
I don't think that, I think the reality with Elye O'Manor and Chim DeK,
and it's one that I've been talking about since the first month of the season.
I think after the first month of the season,
my opinion of those guys has been,
I think both of them can be nice utility depth pieces,
but I don't think either of them is a star wide receiver.
I think the Tennessee Titans still need a wide receiver one and a wide receiver too.
And I think the Elico Manor and Chim Dikey with different roles and different styles can be utility players.
If you need a bigger body for a bigger matchup.
And look, the wide receiver position, there's going to be a rotation at all time.
So I think that Elicio Manor and Chim Dike have the versatility together as a pairing to be kind of your utility wide receivers.
that imagine if Elykeye O Manor was your NWI
and Chim D.K. was your Kyle Phillips, you know what I mean?
And then you had the A.J. Brown to go with it.
You had a number two wide receiver to go with it.
Like, that is, in my opinion, what would be a perfect setup
if Elykeye O'Manner and Chim D.K.
were wide receiver 3 and 4 of your top 4 wide receiver group.
Maybe Xavier Restrepo, wide receiver 5.
I'm just saying. Throw them in there.
But the point is,
That I think that while their roles, their upside, I think maybe has been capped in my mind,
they made plays and did what they were supposed to do in the roles that I see them in going forward.
I mean, six catches total, 98 yards in a touchdown total.
That's the kind of value that you want from your wide receiver 3 and 4 who you drafted in the fourth round.
Chica Conquo made plays, six catches, 44 yards, one touchdown.
I know that I am the anti-Chicacanquo guy at this point,
which is funny because I was the guy who called them drafting Chica Conquo
live on air with the Locked On Network during that draft.
I literally got on the air and said,
now you go get Chigacanquo after they drafted Malik Willis.
It was hilarious.
But at this point, I think Chigacucoe is a Tide End 3.
He's part of a committee.
He's not a guy that you want to pay a lot of money to.
And with him being a free agent,
I don't think that the Titan should sign him back at Tide End 2 money.
I think the Titans need Gunner Helm as tight end one.
They need a more versatile tight end as tight end two.
They can play together in two tight end sets.
And then you have Chickacanquo as tight end three who's kind of your specialist,
who you use in these little situations, these tight end screens,
these pure passing situations where you can kind of be a wide receiver tight end hybrid type.
I think if he's your tight end three as part of your rotation, then fine, bring him back.
But I'm not overpaying money for Chickicca.
I'm not paying him $10 million a year to be tight end one or anything like that.
It's just not happening.
But if they bring him back on a small deal,
$5, $6 million for a couple of years,
that's perfectly fine.
And to see him make plays
and see the role in which he could play within the offense,
it's clearly defined.
He's the yards after catch guy,
pure pass down, tight end guy.
It's clear what he can do.
It's just about how much money that's actually worth.
And I don't think it's worth a ton of money,
but the Titans could bring him back on a cheap deal,
and that helps.
But again, we go to the offensive line.
And we can talk about the run game.
Tage Spears, 13 for 52 on the ground.
had a touchdown 5 for 53 in the air.
That's 100 total yards and a touchdown on 18 touches.
I told you guys, he was my beautiful dark twisted fantasy player of the week.
I knew that he was going to have a big breakout performance.
Tony Pollard, 21 carries 102 yards.
But I want to point out the O line for that.
I really credit the offensive line the last couple of weeks
for them to be able to run for 180, 140, 160.
I did not think they had this in them.
And this is a great sign for the future, guys.
This is what I'm talking about.
This is why this win is good because you know what?
This Tennessee Titans offensive line, Dan Moore, Peter Skoronsky
was dominant.
Again in this game, he is absolutely a Pro Bowl level guard.
It's insane that Kevin Zitler has more Pro Bowl votes than Peter Scoronzi.
It's a disgrace, quite frankly.
But again, Dan Moore, Peter Skoronsky.
I still think that Lloyd Cushenberry has a good chance of coming back.
They could do a post-June first cut and put Corey Levin at starting center.
They could do, I just don't know.
Let that man get back a full year from the Achilles.
He's playing better as of late.
I say you restructure Lloyd Cushenberry.
Maybe you ask him to take a little bit of a haircut and move the deal around.
But the Titans have so much cap space this year.
I don't think that they need to get rid of Lloyd Cushenberry.
Let the group gel and have chemistry and play together.
You might have to replace Kevin Zitler at right guard.
I'm fine with that going to free agency
get a solid right guard
put him in on a two year deal
Latham has been playing a lot better football
in the last couple of weeks
he was really good in this game
with the offensive line
because I'm looking at Cam
I'm looking down the field to see what's open and stuff
I gotta go back and look at the offensive line
but again just like I said last week
I thought J.C. Latham was really good
in this game and this Titans
offensive line two sacks
and both of them were on blitzes against man coverage
where the Titans have struggled all year
and I think maybe Cam Ward
could have got the ball out of his hands
on those going to again have to go back
and look at what was happening down the field
because this CBS crew didn't really give you
a lot of great looks it felt like
after plays they kind of just moved on
from certain plays without the typical replays
but this offensive line
I have continued to say it the last couple of weeks
this is the offensive line that is going to mostly
be here next year. I think four out of these
five guys are going to be your O line
next year and for them to start to
really kick some tail
at the end of the year. Again this is
a good Kansas City front
Now, they aren't a big sack team.
The pass rush has been a little bit of a problem for Kansas City,
but they got Chris Jones and George Carl Loftus,
and we have seen lesser pass rushes give the Titans more problems.
But this offensive line is absolutely on fire right now.
They are cooking with gas.
And that should be incredibly exciting, giving Cam Ward time.
Imagine once Cam Ward has better wide receivers,
who can get open against man coverage
and not only get open and catch the ball
but maybe break a tackle, make a man miss,
turn it into a big play.
Imagine if Van Jefferson was A.J. Brown.
Imagine if Van Jefferson was Jordan Tyson.
Catching that ball against man coverage,
shaking a tackle and getting upfield.
Now it's a 60-yard touchdown.
Cam Ward has 320 yards, three touchdowns.
Like, don't you see the vision?
and again, we could talk about the draft pick
and it being meaningless and this and this and that.
But we're talking about Cam Ward absolutely cooking.
We're talking about the young wide receivers making plays.
We're talking about the run game and the offensive line
playing tremendous against a really good defensive front
that's a top 10 defense this year.
Seventh against the run.
They ran for a buck 60.
Eighth against the past.
Cam Ward, multi-touchdown throwing pass game again.
I mean, he is tremendously improved from early in the season.
Is it perfect?
As I said, no, the first half was a little shaky.
Some of the short throws, some of the layup throws in the second half still shaky.
I'd like to see him more locked in.
But, like, what else can we want?
We got the whole picture here.
And then you look at the defensive side of the ball.
Again, Jeffrey Simmons is the first team all-pro defensive tackle in the NFL.
he is the best interior defensive line
in the entire NFL
he's a freak
gets the safety
I think they gave him
I think they gave him a half sack on the day
when he met in the backfield
if I'm correct on that
they did not give him a half sack
I protest I think he met
Truman Jones in the back for a half sack
but nonetheless
he was just absolutely fantastic
have multiple tackles for loss
multiple passes batted down at the line of scrimmage
he just wrecked the game
gets in the end zone.
I mean, you could not think of a better highlight play
for a defensive lineman than Jeffrey Simmons
getting into the end zone and getting a safety.
Simmons is dominant,
and when the Titans are better on offense
and have better stuff around him on defense
after an acquisition offseason,
this team could be better.
Yeah, and the not reporting eligible was BS.
Should have been a touchdown.
James Williams.
Jalen Harrell.
Jalen Harrell once again, what is this, four sacks in the last five games or something like, or six games?
Jalen Harrell is going nuts.
He's going to be a good depth piece.
James Williams gets a sack, leads the team and tackles with nine.
James Williams played good in this game.
What a great backup linebacker.
Maybe he can start over Cody Barton next year.
Like, I don't know, man.
I don't know what to tell you.
Marcus Harris gets hurt and that isn't fun.
Cam Ward played great. The O-line was awesome. The young weapons were good.
The defense. The young players there that can be actual pieces for this team going forward into the future.
This is the kind of win that you want at the end of the year.
If the Titans are going to win, this is what you want it to look like.
This is the way that you win. This is the condition of which the Tennessee Titans get a win and it feels good.
And I am here to tell you that I'm not overly worried about the draft pick either.
Yes, the Titans might not be able to get a big train.
down from number one overall.
But the reality is that is not the only way to skin this cap.
The trade down from number one overall isn't the only way that the Titans can turn this thing around.
And the reality is when you look at the players at the top of the draft,
I think the Titans are still in a great position
to get one of the players I think that are actually good.
And I'm going to tell you who I think those players are right now.

Titans fans, let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
We talked about Cam Ward absolutely cooking the Kansas City Chiefs defense.
We talked about all the players that helped him along.
the way and why that is a great sign for the Tennessee Titans future and Cam Ward in those
performances are what make this blow out home win meaningful for the Tennessee Titans draft pick be
damned and I'm going to tell you why I'm less concerned about the draft pick than ever based on the
landscape of the NFL draft class that is coming out again before I get into it thanks for making
Locked on Titans your first listen thank you for making the locked on podcast network the number one
Sports Podcast Network.
But, but nonetheless,
the Tennessee Titans draft pick
is going to fall here.
Okay, they are going to get probably
the fifth, the sixth pick,
seventh at worst,
I think at this point,
but it is definitely something to monitor.
But I'm not that worried about that.
Because number one, as I said before it,
as I said a couple of weeks ago when they beat the Browns,
getting a trade
down from number one overall and getting a big hall of draft picks and all that.
While that would be helpful, that is not the only way that the Tennessee Titans can turn
things around. The Tennessee Titans could very well, the Tennessee Titans could very well
just have a regular number one pick in the first round, draft a good player who's a really good
player and that helps turn the team around and you know what else has to go with that?
internal development and the Titans
current players playing better
and then the coaching staff that's going to
come in elevating the team and making
them a lot better
see right now you got the two teams with two
wins the Giants and the Raiders because the Giants
lost again and the Raiders are going to lose the Houston
would be a shocker if not
then you have the three win teams
the Browns the Titans the Jets
the Cardinals so that's six
teams right there so right now the Tennessee Titans
have the sixth overall pick
but the Raiders and the Giants
and the Giants play next week.
One of them's going to win.
The Titans play the Saints next week.
The Saints got their fifth win.
They're a pretty good team.
They're probably going to win.
The Titans are going to play the Jags at the end.
I really do think that this is the Tennessee Titans' last win of the year.
So will the Browns get another win?
Will the Jets get another win?
The Cardinals, how things shake out,
could actually pass the Titans in strength of schedule and jump over them.
So the Titans are probably going to have the sixth pick at minimum,
which is where they're at right now
depending on how the rest of the weekend shakes out
they can move up to fifth or fourth
or something like that because I don't think they're going to win
again the rest of the season
but but again
the Titans don't have to get a huge trade down
and when you look at the players that are going to be available
I think
that the Titans are still in a good spot
to get one of those players that I like
and I would be happy with that outcome
number one
Rvel Rees linebacker out of
Ohio State. I think he's going to be a full-time edge at the NFL level.
Good, physical, athletic, freak, pass rusher, six foot four, 220 pounds,
Micah Parsons vibes, Abdul Carter vibes, can play offball linebacker, but again, I think he's
going to be a full-time edge. Absolutely love Arvel Reese from Ohio State. That's my number one
player in the draft. But also, I don't care about the arm length, get out of my face.
This isn't a good draft class at the top. Take good football players.
still love Ruben Bain. Ruben Bain out of Miami. Everybody's freaking out now because he's going
to have 31-inch arms and no player in NFL history with 31-inch arms has ever had 12
sacks in a season. All right, great. All right, great. Okay. Ruben Bain is a great football
player. Physical in the run game, really technical as a pass rusher. He may not be an athletic freak
like R. Val Rees.
But I would love Ruben Bain.
Also on the edge, I love some David Bailey.
David Bailey out of Texas Tech.
He is not great against the run.
He is not a great run defender.
But you know what?
You get Femiola Dacia.
You get a third edge who can be good against the run.
You have Jalen Harrell as your edge four.
At some point, the Titans need a pure pass rusher
who can just get to the quarterback.
In my opinion, in the NFL,
you look at offensive line, you look at defensive line,
you are paying for what they do in the passing game.
Can you pass block?
Can you rush the passer?
Run blocking and run defense is way easier to find
than guys who are really good pass blockers
and really good pass rushers.
So I love me some David Bailey.
If R. Val Reese and Ruben Bain are gone,
And I wouldn't even be shocked at the Titans like David Bailey more than they like Ruben Bain.
And I'm fine with that too.
I'm going to be very open-minded this draft season, guys.
I got to tell you, you're not going to have me on here rant and Raven saying,
oh, they can't do this.
I hate this move.
If they get the fifth, sixth pick, something like that,
whatever falls to them as long as they get in a group of guys, I'm going to be happy.
And again, Rvel Reese, Ruben Bain, David Bailey are my favorite edges.
in this class.
Keldrick Falk, the young guy out of Auburn,
super unrefined.
He reminds me of Shemar Stewart,
a guy with a ton of talent.
He's so young.
He's like 20 years old.
I don't know if I trust the development plan
as much as I like Bain, Reese,
and Bailey, who I think I can come in
and help right away
and be a good pass rusher.
So I like those guys and then you move away from that.
Jordan Tyson is my number one.
wide receiver. There are some concerns about injury. Okay, whatever. That guy is the one,
in my opinion, who actually has superstar potential. Cornel Tate from Ohio State.
You guys know that I don't think that he's a number one wide receiver in the NFL,
but I don't think there's a number one wide receiver in this draft if it's not Jordan
Tyson because he gets injured all the time. So if the Titans were to take Carnell Tate at
five, six or seven, because that's who's there. And Arvel Reese and Rubin Bain and David
Bailey are off the board, then all right, we get Cardinal Tate.
Cam Ward needs wide receivers.
I'm warming up to the idea.
Look at the draft class.
Mackay Lemon, another wide receiver,
the shifty guy out of USC.
He's significantly lower to me than Jordan Tyson and
Carnell Tate, who I have above him.
But Mackay Lemon is wide receiver three for me for certain.
I think there's more value at wide receiver later.
Like Chris Brasel is a guy who I like in the second round.
Casey Concepcion, you know,
early second round.
I think, you know, those,
there's good value at wide receiver in the early second round.
But hey, the Titans need wide receiver help.
And this is not a very good draft class at the top.
A lot of these guys,
Arvel Reese is the only top five talent in the draft to me.
I think Bain, Bailey, Falk,
Howell,
Lemon, Tyson, Tate,
any of the guys like that,
I think they are really,
like 13 and lower level talents.
They're like back end of the first round talents.
But that's where this draft class is at.
So if they could get one of those six guys,
heck at that point, Jeremiah Love, Caleb Downs.
Like if the Titans can get one of those guys,
that's a really, really good football player
and the draft isn't over after the first round.
So yeah, would it be great to have the number one overall pick,
get this massive trade down, blah, blah, blah, blah, yes.
But that isn't the titan.
The Titans only path to contention, and the reality is there aren't a lot of high-end first-round talents in this draft.
So having a high-end first-round pick, in my opinion, you're still getting a middle-of-the-round talent.
So if they're not getting the first pick, I would rather see Cam Ward cook the Kansas City Chiefs.
I'd rather see the Titans' young players and important players into the future play awesome and get better and be better as football players.
and then still be able to get Cornell Tate or David Bailey, you know?
Like, it's not that big of a deal.
It's really not.
It's really not.
And we don't know it's going to shake out the rest of the way either.
So enjoy this win.
Enjoy Christmas week.
Merry Christmas.
Thank you, Cam Ward.
What a performance.
That's going to do it for me today, folks.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland,
and this was Locked on Titans.
