Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward SUMMER GOALS as Tennessee Titans PREPARE for Training Camp & Staying HEALTHY is CRITICAL

Episode Date: June 23, 2026

The Tennessee Titans have entered the summer break in the NFL, but that doesn't mean the players can take a break, namely Cam Ward, who needs to be in the playbook while also focusing on being a leade...r by organizing his teammates. One of those things that must be organized is a camp for his weapons to get chemistry work in. Carnell Tate should be in attendance and that will help his development, but Tate also needs to strengthen his body to deal with the wear and tear of an NFL season. On defense, the Titans need their young pass rushers, Keldric Faulk and Femi Oladejo, to work on technique as both will try to capitalize on their physical gifts this year.    LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop...   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LockedOnTitans   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 It may be summer break, but Cam Ward still needs to be focused on his playbook, his body, and being the best leader that he can be. We'll talk Tennessee Titans summer goals on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rollin Titans fans, Today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast is brought to you by Odu.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Great organizations win because operations matter. That's why you should get Odu. Try for free at Odu.com slash locked on. That's O'DO.com slash locked on on today's show. We're going to be talking about what the Tennessee Titans top players on offense and defense should be focused on this summer. Their summer goals because it may be a summer break for the Titans. But the work never stops if the Titans want to turn this thing around in 2026. We'll talk about the defensive side of the ball where I think the secondary has a lot of work to do.
Starting point is 00:01:15 And on the defensive line, it's all about technique. We'll talk about the offensive side of the ball where the offensive line has to put in their work. And what Carnell Tate needs to do to be ready for the regular season. But we got to start with Cam Ward and what his goals need to be this summer. And in my opinion, it is simple. There are three things that Cam Ward needs to focus on the most. Number one, he has to master the playbook. Cam Ward has to know the playbook like the back of his hand,
Starting point is 00:01:46 no matter what. That has to be the number one thing that he accomplishes and focuses on over the next 40 days or so before training camp comes around. I have talked about this playbook, the Earhart Perkins system that Brian Daible runs. Last time it was in Tennessee, Tim Kelly was running that system.
Starting point is 00:02:04 that got popularized in my generation by Tom Brady, Peyton Manning. And what do you remember about Peyton Manning? You remember full control at the line of scrimmage. He would be calling audibles out here, talking to his wide receivers, shifting formations, bringing guys in motions, getting lined up against the coverage that he's seeing. Peyton Manning pre-snap was the best, let's say it this way. Peyton Manning was the best pre-snap quarterback of all time.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Tom Brady also an absolute assassin at the line of scrimmage, getting guys lined up, attacking the defense in certain ways with certain route combinations that he knew would work. This is that offense, okay? And it's very difficult to learn on the front end because there's so many checks and so many motions and so many choice routes and so many option routes, so many different things that you can do against different coverages,
Starting point is 00:02:55 all the different route concepts, two-man concepts have nicknames, three-man concepts have nicknames. It is a lot of information to take in. And Brian Daible has already said, we're not going to run the same play twice during OTAs and minicamp. We want to go through the entire playbook and do as much as we can to expose Cam Ward to as many plays as possible. And the reason for that is that when he goes to his playbook over the summer break,
Starting point is 00:03:23 he could say, hey, I ran that. Here's what it felt like. Here's what I remember. It's like a golfer making notes on holes with his notebook in his back pocket. You know what I mean? You want him to have experienced everything. But learning all of that information is going to be difficult. It's a very difficult system to learn initially. But once it clicks, once it hits, once you have full mastery of the playbook, the route concepts, you could call coffee to one side, flag to the other side.
Starting point is 00:03:54 You can call the deuce to one side and castle to the other side. Because you see this coverage, this leverage, you know that this route concept can attack what you're seeing. You can split it on either side of the field, no matter whether there's a running back, a wide receiver, a tight end, two tight ends, two wide receivers, two running backs, a fullback and a tight end. It doesn't matter what combination. Once you know the route concept nicknames, you know all the different names for all the different things that you're going to run, you could just cast spells as you wish.
Starting point is 00:04:25 You're basically Merlin at that point. You could do whatever you want. So if Cam Ward is going to go to the next level, if Cam Ward is going to hit the ground running when he gets to training camp, it's going to be because he has mastered the terminology of the playbook and he feels comfortable with the mental side of it, and then the physical goes after that. I think that's a hidden factor of the Cam Ward struggled at OTA's conversation
Starting point is 00:04:49 is how hard it is to be at your physical peak when you're mentally uncertain. And there's no way that Cam Ward had the play. Mastered in OTAs and in mini-camp. Right? Like, you would have to be the biggest, the hater of all haters to use that against Cam, to say, hey, it's the middle of May,
Starting point is 00:05:13 it's the beginning of June, you don't have a brand new playbook that's hard to memorize and hard to learn completely figured out yet. Oh, this guy's a bum. You know, like, you can't do that. That's not a fair criticism. So, again, mastery of the playbook.
Starting point is 00:05:27 It's different when you, get the playbook initially, you want to master it. But when you get out on the field and you get to rep stuff and learn and actually do it, that's when the knowledge can sink in a little bit. So Cam Ward has a different perspective going through his playbook over these next 40 days than he did when he first got his playbook getting ready for the first set of team OTAs. You know what I mean? He's in a different spot mentally now, and that could accelerate the physical aspect
Starting point is 00:05:52 and help him be ready to go for training camp. So that is number one, in my opinion. But number two on that list, is to continue to change his body. You can see it in Kim Ward's face. He's lost weight. He's slimed down. He's leaner. He's more fit right now. And he talked about it earlier in the offseason
Starting point is 00:06:11 and listen, we're in the middle of OTAs, we're in the middle of mandatory minicamp. There's a lot of practice stuff, a lot of plays to talk about this. And then we can go over these things a little quicker than maybe what they deserve. And Cam talking about how he's watching his calories, he's watching his macros, his protein intake,
Starting point is 00:06:27 what he's eating, changing his body. Robert Sala mentioning Cam Ward's fitness multiple times throughout this offseason since he's been hired. It all goes together. He's telling you, yeah, I'm going to be the best version of myself. Diet, exercise, fitness, cardio, making sure I eat the right things before practice. I caught that comment from Cam Ward and that is a very specific thing that clearly Robert Sala has spoken with him about is what he puts in his body before he gets to practice, what he's eating, and think, because your body needs that fuel. Listen, I'm not the skinniest man on the planet Earth.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I love some chips. I love a Coca-Cola. You know what I mean? I love a pizza on the weekends. You know, I'm a regular guy. I'm not some fitness guru or something like that. But at the end of the day, Cam Ward is a professional athlete. And his head coach is obviously very into fitness by looking at his physique.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Let's be honest. So it only makes sense that he would want to take Cam to that next level because honestly, if his body is at peak performance, peak flexibility, peak mobility, peak fuel burn status. Like, given him the right things before practice and games is only going to make his body perform better. And at the end of the day, what is professional sports other than getting your body to perform at its best? Right. Isn't that sports the connection between your mind and your body? Like, that's what it is. So Cam has to continue that.
Starting point is 00:07:56 he's probably going to go on vacation. He's going to do these other things. You know what I mean? Like it is a summer break to recharge and reset. And Cam hasn't done enough of that in his NFL career. Remember, we got to tell him to go home sometimes. Was the thing last year. Haven't heard that at all this year,
Starting point is 00:08:11 which I like psychos in the building. But nonetheless, I just don't want Cam to fall off of some of those habits that he's clearly been building and clearly doing. And I have faith that he's not going to do that. The final goal for Cam Ward, in my opinion, is be a leader, be a leader. And what I mean by that is,
Starting point is 00:08:31 no drama, no controversy, don't get caught up, wrong place, wrong, nothing. Clean as a whistle. All right, nothing like that at all. Which Cam ain't that kind of guy. Let's be real. So I would be very disappointed
Starting point is 00:08:47 with something like that, my expectations for Cam at this point. But outside of that, leadership also is getting your guys together. Robert Sala or Brian Dable, I forget who it was, already mentioned that this is likely to take place, but Cam is going to organize a camp of some kind
Starting point is 00:09:06 for his weapons, his wide receivers, tight ends running back, you know, all that comes together. I want dinners with the offensive linemen. I want Big Jeff and Cam going fishing together over the break, establishing the connection between the offense and defense. So there's a mutual respect there between the leaders of both sides. That's how things work in life. the leaders of two factions come together, broker peace,
Starting point is 00:09:29 and it sets the tone for everybody on either side. That's how it works. You know, the mafia is a gang war. Anytime it's wars of, you know, the history of the earth, the leaders of two sides must come together and publicly, shake hands, publicly bury the hatchet, whatever you want to use. And not that there's problems that the offense and the defense are warring with each other or anything silly.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Like that, I'm just saying the connection between Jeff and Cam just create, it just sets the stage for everybody else feeling connected. Like our two leaders on either side of the ball, which could be at odds of each other when we're battling, battling during training camp against each other. It's easy to feel that us versus them. That's just what people gravitate towards. But seeing Jeff and Cam have that connection, that makes sure. sure that everybody remembers, we're on the same page. So have that summer camp,
Starting point is 00:10:29 be with your teammates, build that chemistry, be the leader of this football team, be the leader of this organization. Be the face of the franchise. That comes with great power and great responsibility, Spider-Man. So just remember that.
Starting point is 00:10:45 That's Cam's goals for me. Master your playbook. Continue your body transformation and your fitness. and be a leader. But Cam Ward isn't the only player on the team. Let's talk about what Carnell Tate needs to do going forward. Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by Square,

And let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast. Again, we're looking at summer goals for the Tennessee Titans top players. We talked about Cam Ward, obviously, his summer goal is very, very important. So we spent a whole segment there.
Starting point is 00:12:49 But now I want to talk about the rest of the offense, whether it's the weapons, whether it's the offensive line, a lot to get in there. We're going to talk defense at the end of the show. Before we continue, though, do want to thank you again for making a locked-on Titans, your first list in each and every day, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Make sure that you get subscribe, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there. and Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys on tomorrow's show. I'm talking about summer goals. I'm going to do a Tennessee Titans World Cup team. What would be the starting 11 if the Tennessee Titans had to put together a soccer team? That's just a little bit of summer fun.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Therefore, it will do a mailbag at the end of the week. So make sure you stay locked in with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world locked on Titans. But with that being said, I look at Cornell tape. And for me, his number one goal is just strengthen his body. Coming out of college, you're playing against boys. Going to the NFL, you're playing against men.
Starting point is 00:13:51 And it's no coincidence that Cardinal Tate was bawling out at OTAs when he was going against Michael Robinson every snap. And then when Alante Taylor and Cordell Flock showed up, things got a little bit more quiet. I think Cardinal Tate struggles early on are probably going to be with the physicality of the game. getting off press coverage,
Starting point is 00:14:14 being as successful and contested situations in the NFL as he was in college, which the Titans are banking on him being. I don't think that he's going to be bad in those situations. It's going to fall off or anything. But it's going to be different when it at the NFL level with the physicality of the cornerbacks in the NFL and the type of coverage you're going to see
Starting point is 00:14:32 in the press coverage and press bail and all the different ways that NFL cornerbacks can get physical with you at the line of scrimmage in at the catch point and during your route. it's a different level of physicality at the NFL level. I don't think that I'm giving out a hot take by saying that. So I think Carnell Tate, who's been focused on 40s and jumps and different things like Carnell Tate getting as strong as he can possibly get, fortifying his body as much as he can
Starting point is 00:14:58 to go into what is about to be the most physically taxing season. And remember, this is why Robert Sala didn't have them participate in the rookie minicamp oh so long ago because coming out of the draft, their bodies aren't ready to go. Then they go right into OTAs in the minicamp. It's hard for the rookies to catch up with their bodies coming from the college season to draft prep to the NFL all season to NFL training camp through the NFL regular season,
Starting point is 00:15:23 which again is the most taxing football season that they've ever played in their lives. So now Cornell Tate went to Ohio State, which means his seasons were longer than the average college season. Go bucks, baby. But, but nonetheless, it's still a. different level of physicality. So I want Cornell Tate to focus on his body
Starting point is 00:15:44 during summer. Get as strong as you can. All right, that's what I want to see there. For Calvin Ridley, it's all about staying healthy. Just stay healthy, Calvin. The Titans didn't want to overwork Calvin Ridley. Just stay healthy. Stay on the right path. Don't get injured.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Be ready to go for training camp. I think the Titan should really manage Calvin Ridley's load throughout the training camp process. he's over 30, you have younger weapons, get a look at some of your younger wide receivers. There are just no reason to have Calvin Ridley out there every single snap. So just stay healthy, Calvin.
Starting point is 00:16:18 That's all I really care about there. Wondale Robinson. He is one of the guys that I'm going to have a teach label on for summer goals. Wondale Robinson needs to be around his teammates and teach them the offense. Quiz them on the code words.
Starting point is 00:16:38 get them lined up properly, make them understand the adjustments of, hey, if we call this play and we come out and they're lined up in this defense, they present this look. We need to adjust our route. We need to adjust our alignment. We need to adjust our depth based on this situation.
Starting point is 00:16:55 It's third down in 10. It's third down in two. We do this here. We adjust to this leverage this way. That's what Daveo is going to ask. If Wondale Robinson can do a little summer school for the other Titans wide receivers, especially the young guys in Tate, I.O and D.K.
Starting point is 00:17:13 and Restrepo, going to give them a huge leg up when you get to training camp. So Wondale Robinson needs to be a teacher. That needs to be his goal this summer, as teach his teammates. That should be his focus. For Chim Dekay, for me, it's route running.
Starting point is 00:17:31 We know he has the speed. We know he has the ability to get the ball in his hands and make plays. He just needs to be a better route runner, really get more precise to utilize and leverage that speed in a better way. He's almost so fast that he rounds his corners. And if you watch, you know, I love watching the film. But Steve Smith, former NFL wide receiver,
Starting point is 00:17:52 probably always going to know a little bit more about wide receiver playing the NFL to meet. I think it's fair to say that. So he did a great breakdown on Chim Dek. Excellent watch on YouTube. It was months ago at this point. But he talked about that, that rounding his routes,
Starting point is 00:18:05 and being more precise. with his route running. And I think that's the next step for Chim Dike is to hone his powers a little bit more. Run with a little more tempo so we can be a better route runner, create more explosive windows and throw the football into Elye-o Manor. It's all about Playbook. And same things. You know, understanding the depth of his routes,
Starting point is 00:18:25 understanding the adjustments, understanding where to go on the choice routes. Remember, Elykeyeo Manor is from Canada. Okay? He didn't grow up in the typical football, system that American kids usually grow up in. He's not complete novice, but I think some of the little nuances and things like that are a little bit tougher for him to get. It reminds me of, as a lot of you know, I'm a Lakers fan.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Rui Hachamura is Japanese. Okay? So, Rui has incredible ability. 6-foot 8, 200 plus 4, 240, big-bodied, strong, great rhythm, great touch. He's the all-time best three-point shooter and NBA playoff him. by percentage right now. It's kind of crazy. But it takes Rui some time to understand the defensive rotations, know where he's supposed to be. There's famous videos out there
Starting point is 00:19:16 of LeBron James being like, move Rui, get in the right spot, go. I think that's Elykeye. Man. He has incredible physical talent in a biddle. But some of the nuanced aspects, some of the instinctual aspects of playing football, maybe he's not the best. That's why catching the football, I think is a problem
Starting point is 00:19:33 because it's just not natural to him in the way that it is for some other better players. Now, I'm not just saying he drops the football because he's from Canada. You know, like, it's not that simple. There are Americans who drop the football works. You know, it's not that. I'm just saying it's the whole composite conversation around Elyon Manor. So for him, I think it is critical that he is in his playbook.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I think that's even more critical for him than it is for other players because of, I just feel like there's a lot of miscommunications when you go to Elicio Manor. He's thinking too much about what he's doing, and that's why he's dropping the football. I think that's part of it. So for him to get a head start on the mental aspects of the playbook so that he can just let his physical tools shine, which seems to be the overall theme of the football team.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Fast and violent. Learn one position. Focus on get-off. You're only playing four snaps. There's so many different aspects of this football team where you look at it and it's like, it is clear that they want to simplify things when you're out on the field
Starting point is 00:20:35 so that you can play as fast and as violent as possible. Right? Well, for Elyle-O manner, that is going to come with a mastery of his playbook, understanding route depth, how to adjust, what's expected of him so that he's on the same page with Cam Ward
Starting point is 00:20:50 because I can already see that that combination is going to have a lot of miscommunications. All right, so let's get a head start on that. At tight end, Gunner Helm, stronger, more and because you're going to be asked to do a lot more this year and not only more in terms of volume, but more in terms of intensity.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Daniel Bellinger, just stay healthy. You're a vet, you know what to do, you've been impressive so far, just stay healthy. On the offensive line, Dan Moore, stay healthy. Peter Skoroski, stay healthy. Austin Sloatman, teach.
Starting point is 00:21:28 That's like Wondale Robinson. It's another guy that needs to teach. and that's why he's going to start at center because he knows this system and knows this offense better than anybody on the offensive line. So help everybody else. Jackson Slater needs to get stronger and know his playbook. The only way that he's going to pass Cordell Voulson
Starting point is 00:21:47 is if he knows the offense just as well or better than Voson. It's the only way. And I look at Jackson Slater, he's just a little thin, get a little bit stronger, and J.C. Latham needs to get healthy, but get in the playbook. One thing that bothers me about Latham over his first couple of years is he has the tendency to miss his assignment in the run game.
Starting point is 00:22:06 He seems maybe a little confused, maybe a little slow. And again, Latham can't take full advantage of his natural raw power and strength if he's thinking and he's playing slow. So while he's getting healthy, J.C. Latham better be in that playbook. That's the number one thing that he needs to focus on going forward. But now we've got to talk about the defensive side of the ball where for me, it's a combination of technique and help that needs to be the focus on defense. Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by Odu.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Running a business shouldn't feel like you're trying to connect a bunch of systems that were never designed to work together. You got one app for accounting and then you got another app for inventory and then another for sales. And somehow none of these apps talk to each other. That's where Odu comes in. Odu is an all-in-one business management software that brings every part of your business together in one powerful platform. From sales to accounting, to inventory, to marketing, and everything in between. Starting point is 00:23:22 The best organizations know that success isn't just about talent. It's about having everyone working toward the same goal. Starting point is 00:23:49 Let's cap off today's edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast. Again, we're going over summer goals for the Tennessee Titans starters on both sides of the ball. We talked to Cam Ward, we talked weapons, we talked offensive line. Now I want to move to the defensive side of the ball before we cap things off. Make sure that you stay locked in to the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world, locked on Titans, and join the Locked on Titans Every Day or Club. Now, with that being said, though, do want to talk about the defensive side of the ball. It's starting on
Starting point is 00:25:01 the defensive line. Quickly, Jeffrey Simmons, John Franklin Myers, Jermaine Johnson, I'll throw Solomon Thomas in there because I feel like he's going to be a very important player this year. Those are veteran guys that just need to stay healthy. Simmons and John Franklin Myers are going to know the play.
Starting point is 00:25:17 do their job fine. Obviously, JFM has been in the defense before. JJ's been in the defense before. Solomon Thomas in the defense before. Big Jeff, Big Jeff. Zero percent worried about any of those guys. No one playbook, understanding technique, anything like that. Just stay healthy. But the flip side of that is, I am very concerned, and it is very important that Femiola Dejo and Keldrick Falk
Starting point is 00:25:43 work on their pass rush technique. Femmy has to get healthy. Obviously, he's not healthy enough to be out there. I hope that that changes quickly during this summer break. But him and Keldrick Falk are going to be playing new positions, asked to do new things, and a new scheme. They were already underdeveloped,
Starting point is 00:26:04 technique-wise. Everything is about technique for them this summer. It should be all hand placement, bird dog steps, whether they want to go to a password, trainer, work with the coaching staff. I don't care what they do. Every single thing they do should be focused on.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Pat, how do I get better as a pass rusher? How do I improve my pass rush technique so that my technique can catch up to my physical gifts and I can become the most dominant pass rusher that I could possibly be? That right there, Femmy and Keldrick Falk, which I have different expectations for each of them, of course.
Starting point is 00:26:39 But that's what they need to be focused on. No question about. Now, moving to lineback. for me, both Cedric Gray and Anthony Hill both need to focus on the playbook. Understanding, because the task of the linebacker in this defense is immense. The outside corners are going to play on the outside. They're going to protect the boundary.
Starting point is 00:27:04 They're going to look to squeeze everything in the middle. The defensive line is going to fire off the ball, be super aggressive, not hold gaps, and try to get up the field like crazy banshees. All right. With that, if my corners are staying outside, we play two high safety looks, my defensive line is going to be overaggressive and shoot up field and shoot through gaps
Starting point is 00:27:28 and potentially get out of position. That puts a lot of strain on the linebackers. Because now there's less people in the middle of the field, which means the linebackers have to cover more of the middle of the field when it's zone coverage. The defensive linemen are more prone to get out of position or get taken advantage of on traps, whams, counters, things like that
Starting point is 00:27:48 because they're flying up field being aggressive, which puts more strain on the linebackers to cover up if they do get out of position. The defensive line isn't holding blocks to keep guys off of the linebackers. If I fly past a guard as a defensive tackle, the guard isn't going to turn around and try to catch me. The guard should just move up to the next level
Starting point is 00:28:07 and block the next guy. And that's me, the linebacker. So understanding the playbook to be in the right spot, to read the right keys, to know what gaps you have, to know what your responsibility is, know what everyone else's responsibility is, get everybody else lined up,
Starting point is 00:28:23 make sure everybody else is on the same page, maybe cover for some other people who will make mistakes or get out of position. The linebackers are asked to do so much in this Robert Solid Defense that both Anthony Hill and Cedric Gray better be mentally ready to go with their playbook, and they better feel very comfortable about where their drop spots
Starting point is 00:28:42 are in zone coverage. they are going to have a lot of pressure on them to perform. So that's where I'm at with the linebackers. We move to the secondary. Outside for me, Alante Taylor, it's all about technique. He's going from mostly playing in the slot to being a full-time outside guy. That's a totally different technique at cornerback.
Starting point is 00:29:03 He needs to focus and get muscle memory and really lock in on how he's going to play on the outside going forward. That's going to be critical. That's what Alante Taylor needs to be focused. on right now is just outside corner technique. Cordell Flot for me is all about endurance. He's the field cornerback.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Hopefully he's running with guys deep. He's covering more space because there's field where Alante's going to be the boundary cornerback where there's less room to cover. Alante's got to be in peak shape endurance-wise his fitness in a good spot so that he can keep a stamina up throughout the year. Marcus Harris, to me, it's all about strength and playbook.
Starting point is 00:29:39 He's got to get stronger if he's going to be that early down nickel to play against the run and function almost as a pseudo linebacker in Robert Salas scheme. Also, he's got to know his playbook. He said it. The coaches have said it. Robert Salas said it. The nickel position unlocks the entire defense. So you have to have a great understanding of all the different things that you're asked to do, whether it's an inverted cover two and you're dropping back in deep half, whether you're going to play a curl
Starting point is 00:30:05 flat, whether you're going to play a hook, whether you're going to blitz, whether you're going to play mug to the line of scrimmage, and then drop back as a quarterback spy, you know, whether you're going to play run defense and you're going to dart inside into the B gap, you know, whether you're going to come off the edge through the C gap and contain and be the contain, the force player. Like, there are so many different things that the nickel could be asked to do that it's a mental strain. And for a second year player, new scheme, new system, coming off an injury, looks healthy now.
Starting point is 00:30:35 But that's a lot to ask of Marcus Harris right now. And since they don't have any veteran to compete with him or play behind him as a backup, option right now. Maybe they bring in Kenny more, maybe they don't. But since they haven't done that, they're putting all their chips on Marcus Harrison's slot. So he better be mentally ready. Kevin Winston,
Starting point is 00:30:54 just stay healthy. Just stay healthy. Tony Adams, teach the secondary where they need to be as a guy who's played in the system. Amani Hooker, he needs to maybe worry about his post-NFL career. That's what his summer goal needs to be.
Starting point is 00:31:10 What are you going to do afterwards? Because I just, I don't have a lot of confidence that Amani is going to return to the player that we have seen him be throughout his career. He looks so bad last year. I know he was covering for a lot of other people. I know that there were a lot of injuries in the secondary. I know the team wasn't very good. I understand all that, but things that he can control,
Starting point is 00:31:29 like his run defense angles and one-on-one coverage and said he just got smoked. He looks slow. So maybe it's time to put some roots down for what you're going to do afterwards as Amani Hooker gets closer to 30. But those are my summer goals for all the Titans top players. Let me know what you think everyone's summer goals
Starting point is 00:31:48 should be down below. That's going to do it for me today, folks. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
