Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I'm your host Tyler Rowland Titans fans Dynasty Slayers I am so hyped from that game guys. I couldn't wait I'm gonna be putting this out on Sunday just so you guys can have it a day earlier What a game to experience a lot of ups and downs. I'm not even gonna lie to you guys There were so many points in that game after re-watching it twice now where I really thought this is the moment where Tom Brady strikes this is the moment where he kills us I don't know if you guys saw the video that he put out about the lion with the voiceover from Christopher Walken and I felt very uncomfortable going into that game and we gave them so many opportunities
Starting point is 00:00:40 to do something about it but time after, the offense got a timely conversion. The defense got a timely stop. Just a total complete win. We're going to talk about Brett Kern and the impact he had on the game because not enough people are doing that as well. That was a total win from the Tennessee Titans. And one of the first podcasts I ever did was after the Browns win. And I said, this is a testament to the Titans organization and the type of football that they want to play and the type of team that they want to be, not just with the players and the coaches, but the staff. And as all the players have said, the equipment people, the janitors, the cooks, everybody,
Starting point is 00:01:18 this is what the Tennessee Titans are. And it's a culture. It's a feeling. And this type of win shows that that no things didn't go perfect the offense didn't play great the whole game the defense had its moments where they let up some you know bad plays the special teams was always there to come through even though they gave up a couple of returns just always fighting through adversity at every point in the game to come out victorious so of course we are going to jump into everything.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I'm so excited. I'm jumping into everything right now. What a game. I know you guys had to enjoy that. One of the best victories in franchise history. So we're going to break down all the big talking points and my key takeaways. Kind of go back to our game preview and see how things shook out from that perspective in our first segment. Then we are going to get into everybody's favorite, tighten up, tighten down.
Starting point is 00:02:09 And we're going to hand out some tighten ups. Got a couple of tighten downs, of course, as we always do to keep things balanced. But after that, as I've been doing with these big wins, I just want to revel in the emotion of the win and be involved with the team. So I'm going to give you Mike Vrabel. I'm going to give you Logan Ryan. I'm going to give you Derrick Henry, maybe a few others. I'm going to throw in some reaction from the coaches and the players immediately after
Starting point is 00:02:34 the game so we can just, like I said, revel in this victory. Pete Prisco from CBS had some tweet on Sunday morning talking about, you know, shouldn't we appreciate them right now instead of reveling? And no, we shall revel. At least until Tuesday. And then we will move forward to the Baltimore Ravens. But for now, it's time to break down this game, enjoy the victory before we move to
Starting point is 00:03:00 the divisional round. Let's get it. The Titans were able to execute a pretty simple game plan on offense. And it was something that we spoke about on our game preview on Friday. The Titans needed to use multiple tight end sets, heavy sets with a fullback and multiple tight ends at the same time to get the Patriots down into a base defense with less defensive backs on the field. The strength of the Patriots defense is their defensive backfield and we saw that play out in the game with the struggles that the passing offense had. So the Titans had to come out in heavy personnel often having all three of the
Starting point is 00:03:45 tight ends, Ferkser, Smith, and Pruitt out on the field with Blossom game at fullback, moving him around the formation, shifting the tight ends just like we expected them to do. And through that, they were able to run the ball down the Patriots throat for most of the game. Derek Henry had 182 rushing yards, a touchdown, 5.4 yards per carry, had over 200 total yards with the catch that he had close to the goal line. I mean, he was just absolutely phenomenal, and the Titans knew that they could run on the edges with heavy personnel against this Patriots team. Now, in the second half, the Patriots did adjust to that. They started going to what Romo was calling on the broadcast the Super Bowl defense. They were stacking the edges, in the second half, the Patriots did adjust to that. They started going to what Romo was calling on the broadcast the Super Bowl defense. They were stacking the edges, and the Titans had to adjust,
Starting point is 00:04:30 but ultimately they just kept doing exactly what they wanted to do because the Patriots weren't physical enough to stop them, and they were able to run the clock out in the second half and get chunk yardage when they really needed to by utilizing that heavy personnel and getting New England down into base because when New England wasn't in base and they had a bunch of defensive backs on the field they were incredibly successful against this passing game Ryan Tannehill really struggled in this game through an interception there weren't a lot of guys open either so it's not completely on him now one thing Tannehill didn't do is take a bunch of sacks
Starting point is 00:05:05 only took one sack but what saved the Titans here was they never lost either of the fumbles Tannehill fumbled a mesh point read with Derrick Henry on a snap trying to do a read option lifted his head up was trying to read his defender to know whether to give it to Henry or keep it lifted his head too soon lost focus and dropped the ball and luckily Henry was there to read his defender to know whether to give it to Henry or keep it, lifted his head too soon, lost focus, and dropped the ball. And luckily, Henry was there to save him. On the other one, he got hit in the pocket, didn't feel the pressure, dropped the ball, was able to recover. So the Titans really got saved right there by not allowing those turnovers.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And then ultimately, to finish out for the offense, Anthony Ferkser made two huge catches, one for a touchdown at the beginning of the game, and then the third down late in the fourth quarter to give the Titans another opportunity to run clock down, which basically led to them winning the game. So needed that third down conversion. Anthony Ferkser, not Fersker, Ferkser made some big plays. For the defense, the goal line stand changed the game. If you go back to that goal line stand, you look at the performance of Jeffrey Simmons and Rashawn Evans, just like against the Chargers.
Starting point is 00:06:10 These things are playing out over the amount of buy-in that you get as a coach when your team is able to succeed in those ways over and over and over again. It just gives the players so much confidence and gives them confidence in their coaches, and that kind of thing is contagious throughout the building that goal line stand changed the game holding the Patriots two field goals in the first half rather than letting them score touchdowns on those last two scores that that was just huge for the Titans defense that had struggled in the red zone late and then the second half 85 yards for the Patriots, multiple punts, a pick six to really end the game.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Absolutely incredible by Dean Pease. They completely solved New England's offense, led by the greatest quarterback of all time. Absolutely incredible. And then lastly, I want to point out Brett Kern had some incredible punts, really changed the field. We're going to talk about that more in today's episode in our next segment, Tighten Up and Tighten Down. And then the last thing is the time waste by Vrabel taking advantage of a loophole. That is giving the New England Patriots a taste of their own medicine. We ran the ball on them, out-physicaled New England Patriots. We shut them down with our defense
Starting point is 00:07:20 in the second half based on halftime adjustments and being the smarter coaching staff. And then we found a loophole in the rules to take advantage of them in the biggest game of the year. We gave the New England Patriots a dose of the New England Patriots. And everyone wants to kind of snicker at the comparisons between our organization and how many people we've taken. But that philosophy and that thought process of getting every advantage possible is exactly what New England has done for 20 years.
Starting point is 00:07:47 So incredible effort from the Tennessee Titans coaching staff and the players and a great win. And now they will move on to the division round against the Baltimore Ravens. And we will move on to our second segment, tighten up, tighten down. Let's talk about some individual performances from the game. I have a few tighten downs. I'm going to get to them here after our long list of tight end ups.
Starting point is 00:11:34 What an incredible game. First tight end up, Amy Adams Strunk. This team was middling away. One of the worst teams in the NFL. One of the least interesting teams in the NFL, which is almost worse at times from a business standpoint. she's completely flipped this franchise hiring John Robinson as a competent and more than competent above average general manager who eventually found a coach like Mike Rabel who has his in-game management slip-ups but I believe in his ability to prepare the team I believe in his leadership of the men in the locker room I believe in his actual technical assistance as a coach, like working on players with their craft, their hand placement, their actual fundamentals of playing football. I believe in him in so many areas of the game that while I disagree with some of his in-game decisions,
Starting point is 00:12:18 I feel like he's ultimately a plus. A lot of coaches aren't perfect. So Amy Adams Strunk hires John Robinson, who hires Mike Vrabel despite Mike Malarkey taking us to a playoff game and a playoff victory. Has the cojones to do something like that after the first playoff win in 10 years in the franchise. That takes a lot of nerve to do something like that to this fan base.
Starting point is 00:12:45 So Mike Vrabel weathered the storm of the quarterback play last year and the injuries. He weathered the storm this year of a quarterback change from the franchise. You know, stars. Just incredible from Amy Adams-Strunk getting the draft here, changing the uniforms, changing the facilities, pouring money into the facilities and the staff. Incredible. Just incredible all around.
Starting point is 00:13:08 And like I started the season, the first game of the year, I'll say it now, this is a testament to the Titans organization. So tighten up for Amy Adams Strunk and everyone who she's hired. To the players and the game. Derrick Henry, of course, as I talked about in the first segment, I mean, he deserves to be talked about more. The runs that he was making, some of them were plugged up at the line of scrimmage, and quite frankly, he's jumping through holes trying to create space as the Patriots were adjusting and literally doing everything they possibly could to stop the run. He was getting out on the edge. I recall a play where it looked like he was going
Starting point is 00:13:43 to get about a two-yard loss in the second half, and something like that could really hurt the Titans' offense during this game with how good the Patriots' defense was. He was able to get around the edge, go backwards a couple yards, and then push it forwards for about a four-yard gain. That's just a measly four-yard gain in the box score, but looking at those type of plays and the momentum that it creates and the momentum that it doesn't take away by getting a negative play, Derrick Henry was incredible. He was the second leading receiver by receiving yards on the night with that 22-yard catch that he almost took into the end zone,
Starting point is 00:14:14 ultimately got a touchdown right afterwards. So fantastic game from Derrick Henry, and he really proved his worth. And boy, is he making money by the second right now. The Titans are going to have to pay him, and I don't the second right now the Titans are going to have to pay him and I don't care what it takes they're going to have to do so my second Titan up staying on offense Anthony Firk sir let's all say it together Firk sir Dan Orlovsky actually apologized to me on Twitter at Tic Tac Titans on Sunday morning because I said, man, you got to quit calling him Fursker. Everyone was doing it. He wasn't alone,
Starting point is 00:14:51 so it's not just him, but that's got to be a mission this playoffs, get people to know. It's Tony Firk, baby. Anthony Fursker. Got to give him his credit here. He made the two biggest catches of the game. He scored the touchdown in the first drive, and then late in the fourth quarter, the Titans needed to convert a third down to continue to run clock off and continue to flip the field position so they could pin the Patriots deep, which they did to the one-yard line, and we'll get to Brett Kern, but Anthony Ferguson just an incredible day, and in my opinion, all sins forgiven from the Texans game where he dropped that ball and it completely changed the game after the interception so all sins forgiven we love you Tony
Starting point is 00:15:32 Firk we love you two catches 23 yards and a touchdown which that's literally exactly what the Titans needed from him and those multiple tight end sets I talked about the versatility of the tight ends all week and how they'll have to step up in man coverage, and Ferkser was the one who was able to do so. Another shout-out to the offensive line. The offensive line that has been much maligned due to their issues in pass protection. Most of it has been deserved early on.
Starting point is 00:15:59 It was a lot of quarterback holding the ball. Tannehill will hold the ball as well. So a lot of those sacks, I think, out of the sacks that the offensive line had this year, not all of them, I would say a lesser percentage than usual are on this offensive line. And they've been showing out recently, only gave up one sack, 201 rushing yards total as a team. What else could you ask for? They're really in a groove right now in the chemistry and the reps and the communication. It's something me and Teron Davenport talked about on Sunday morning as well.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Talking about this game is the chemistry that the offensive line has now and how in sync they are. Just an incredible game from that perspective. The Patriots knew we were going to run the ball. They knew it. There was no secret there, and we still were able to take care of business. Moving forward, Brett Kern, out of his six punts, 275 yards total punting for those punts inside the 20-yard line, and I just want to make sure that we're all on the same page here. Did everyone see Brett Kern speed up his punt process, his leg speed? He literally sped up his punt on that last punt because the Patriots were coming for it.
Starting point is 00:17:08 They mentioned numerous times the Patriots had blocked four punts during the regular season. They were coming for that last punt to try to swing it and make a play. And Brett Kern, if he takes his normal time through his kick, he's getting blocked. He sped up his time, kicked it, hit that little dribbler because there was no one back and it dribbled to the one yard line and ultimately it made the difference I mean Brett Kern in the biggest moment of the season makes one of the biggest plays of the year and one of the biggest heady awareness plays that I've seen in a long time from a punter he's an absolute weapon and it's not a joke it's a good thing he was first team all pro it's a good thing he's a pro bowler
Starting point is 00:17:43 he deserves all the recognition he's a punter who has literally changed most of the season for the Titans. On defense, Adoree Jackson struggled with tackling and physicality in the first half. I don't know what he was doing on that touchdown run with Edelman. He didn't even look at Edelman as he ran right past him, but in the second half in man coverage, he had two pass breakups, two of them coming on third down, so huge play in the second half in coverage from Adoree Jackson. I continue to eat my crow from asking why he wasn't put on IR because we needed him tonight, and he stepped up big. Kenny Vaccaro was a tone setter in the first half. Huge hits. He only ended up with four tackles, but two of them were for loss, and he had that huge pass breakup on that skydiving play by the end zone.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Just an incredible play, and he really set the tone. What an incredible pickup from John Robinson. My lord, off the scrap heap. Thank you, Kenny Vaccaro. And then ultimately, the two biggest players on defense, in my opinion, were Rashawn Evans and Jeffrey Simmons. They dominated in the run game, and they were the reason for that goal line stand, just like at San Diego. They were the reason. Jeffrey Simmons destroyed Ted Karras,
Starting point is 00:18:52 the center for the Patriots, over and over again on that goal line, and Rashawn Evans was diving in everywhere and just blowing up the Patriots running backs. Had a phenomenal game out there. Had 10 tackles. Simmons didn't really make a big impact in the box score. One sack, but he had a QB hit, but in the run game, moving his man back. That's why the box score for offensive linemen tells you really nothing. You can get a general sense if they have a huge game in the box score, but Jeffrey Simmons dominated up front, and it doesn't show, but we know from watching the game and identifying where the game was won in the trenches. But Rashawn Evans, 10 tackles, 3 for loss.
Starting point is 00:19:30 He put the box score on fire and was absolutely fantastic. Also, got to shout out Logan Ryan. Had to pick 6 at the end to seal it. Basically shut down a banged up Julian Edelman. Only had 30 yards receiving, I believe. So, fantastic play out there from Logan Ryan, who is basically the leader on this defense and was able to step up against his former team
Starting point is 00:19:52 in one of the biggest games of the year. And we're going to hear from him a little later on because he had a lot of interesting things to say. Some quick tight end downs. Jayon Brown, just because he got hurt, of course, but on that first third down in the first quarter of the game Ben Watson made a really incredible catch in coverage there and was able to kind of pin Jayon's arm his left arm in his arms and it made him land awkwardly on his right shoulder
Starting point is 00:20:19 he came back the next drive despite it looking pretty serious, and it seemed like that maybe wasn't the best idea. He got hurt even more, came off the field with tears in his eyes. I'm hoping that it's something mild enough that he may be able to play again in the playoffs, but you just want him to feel better. He's a crucial part of this team. David Long came in, missed a couple of tackles. Hopefully they can get him more prepared if Jayon isn't able to go but that's a tighten down just from the injury perspective
Starting point is 00:20:49 Tannehill was 8 of 15 72 yards one touchdown one interception fumbled the ball twice he was not sharp and he's going to get credit for his first win in Foxborough but not an incredible game from Tannehill now the wide receivers weren't really getting open either. The Patriots' man coverage is fantastic, and it showed out there in the game. There was not much separation from the wide receivers, but Tannehill wasn't very sharp either and didn't help their cause. Thankfully, we have Derrick Henry. And then the pass rush from the Titans, no sacks.
Starting point is 00:21:21 That's something that's going to be a consistent issue here, and it has to be addressed in the offseason. the Titans have to find a way to bring four people drop into coverage with the other seven and still get pressure on the quarterback so they had a few QB hits they got a little bit of pressure here and there but just not enough now some of that was game plan the Titans were coming after Brady early like they did in the game in the regular season in 2018 however Brady was taking advantage of them early in that sense. So they had to kind of back that off, go to rushing forward, playing man with cover one, robber, playing man with cover two,
Starting point is 00:21:55 back, playing zone, things like that. So they kind of changed their philosophy there, and it ultimately paid off. But the pass rush you still want to see put more pressure on somebody like Tom Brady because Lamar Jackson is going to be much more difficult to get to the ground so going to be a huge game next week that kind of wraps up our tighten up tighten down segment here we are going to jump into some Titans talk audio courtesy of titansonline.com like I said I want to revel in this victory I want to soak it up so we are going to hear some post-game sound from head coach Mike Vrabel and some of the
Starting point is 00:22:28 Titans players next. Titans talk. First, we are going to hear from Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Rabels, post-game press conference, audio courtesy of titansonline.com. That has to be the formula. When we look at things and we study it, taking care of the football, do a better job of that. But to be able to run the football and stop the run was huge.
Starting point is 00:23:03 We're appreciative of everything he does and the way our offensive line and the tight ends and fullbacks, you know, everybody takes all 11 to run the football, but certainly Derek's a huge part of that. Well, it's a lot of confidence in his ability, his toughness, his durability. He cares a lot about this football team, and, you know, I'm lucky to get to coach him and these players. Huge, huge.
Starting point is 00:23:28 They were gaining some yards, hitting some screens. But as long as we have an opportunity to play defense, that's our job is to go play defense. I thought our guys responded, and they attacked the line of scrimmage. They tackled. To be able to come back and turn that into points and score, you know, was huge. And to shut them out in the second half, really, really proud of our guys and thankful that I get to coach them. Well, I mean, that's kind of how it goes. And they came out in the second half a little different front defensively, something that we saw, you know, last year against us and other teams. But, you know, last year against us and other teams.
Starting point is 00:24:07 But, you know, when you can run it, when the other team knows you're going to run it, that says a lot about your running game. Well, just the entire game, just being able to operate and function. You know, I thought we punted the ball. I thought we protected. You know, this is a team that had blocked four punts, and we were very conscious of that, and that was a huge key for us.
Starting point is 00:24:32 And to be able to execute there at the end of the game goes a long way. And we're going to continue to need that. You know, I think our players were just, they were ready to go. Our coaching staff did a great job to have them prepared. You know, I told them to win the game, you're going to have to be mentally and physically exhausted to win this football game. Anytime you're in man coverage, they're going to try to pick and rub you. There's going to be gadgets or throwbacks or whatever there may be. Defensively, they're going to do things that are going to force you to think
Starting point is 00:25:03 and Ben and Ryan and make calls um we didn't hand them anything and that that was the one thing that they feast on bad football we didn't hand them anything and um you know i don't think our guys um you know spent too much time staring up at those banners i it does you know i mean i'm i'm honored to coach these guys and uh there's no other team that I would rather have come in here with than the one that was out there on the field. And I'm thankful that I get to coach them another week. You know, we just got to continue to take advantage of opportunities. You know, we had one early, Daquan and Logan.
Starting point is 00:25:37 But, you know, we go on to the next play, and that's what you do. So it was good to be able to execute there at the end against a team that's so good situationally. Shut them out in the second half. Shut them out in the second half, and it's a testament to our players. They really responded, played well on third down the second half. Our offense was 50% against the number one third down defense in the league, and it was a tough sled and throwing the football.
Starting point is 00:26:07 But we kind of expected that. We'll have to get some things fixed and get moving here and get healthy in a hurry. We talked about running the football, stopping a run. There's a lot of different ways to win the games in this league. So play great defense. It was a quick speech, and we're all excited. You know, we'll enjoy it. But we've got to get back to work quickly,
Starting point is 00:26:31 and we have to get as healthy as we possibly can, and get ready to go on the road again. Yeah. I mean, they're a reason that they're good. They're well coached. You know, I'm very comfortable coming into this game the way our guys just prepared. The way we started the game, I thought Kenny and I know a lot of guys on tape. But when you feel those hits on the sidelines where I'm standing and
Starting point is 00:26:57 you see the line of scrimmage on offense go the other way, I felt pretty comfortable. And I knew that there was gonna be some ups and downs in the game, but early on I thought our guys were ready to play. Again, I'm thankful that I get to coach them. Just a huge challenge for what they've been able to do in all three phases. We'll have to find a way to try to slow them down. But for the next 30 minutes or 40 minutes, I'm going to be appreciative of our
Starting point is 00:27:27 football team and our players for for playing um as well as they did tonight as hard as they did and believing in each other the the effort and finish the foundation of of our program in tennessee now let's hear from the king himself derrickrick Henry. And boy, do I love his first couple of answers. We knew it was going to be a tough game. We knew it was going to be muddy. We just had the mindset to never give up, keep playing together on all three phases. I mean, that's the way we like it. We don't want nothing easy.
Starting point is 00:27:56 We want it gritty. We want it dirty. And, you know, that's the mentality we got to have. You know, my main focus is finishing, you know, each and every drive on all three phases. You know, don't give up on each other. You know, believe, you know, communicate, you know, are we out there, what we're seeing. So we make adjustments as a team, you know, just keep thriving, keep striving and, you know, finishing the game. I mean, us just playing tight in football.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I mean, being good, being great on all three phases. I think that was our main focus. You know, we knew what type of game this was going to be. We knew we were coming in a hostile environment. We knew there was a different team in the playoffs. But we just had to play our game. Don't worry about the outside. Just focus on what we need to do.
Starting point is 00:28:33 I think we just want to put efficient drives together. You know, and everybody just do their job. Beat the man in front of you. Be physical. And I think that's what we tried to do as we were moving the ball down the field. I think the main thing he messaged was just, we all know the obvious. We know what type of organization this is. Focus on what we need to do as we moved up as we're moving ball down the field. I think the main thing he would just message was just we all know the obvious we know we know what type of organization this is focus on what we need to do focus on how we need to play and then let everything else take care of itself. I mean um I mean my approach is always the same against any defense you know and um they've been
Starting point is 00:28:58 doing a great job all year so I know I just had to go out there and do my job at the best of my ability just be efficient you know but it going to take all 11 of us. I love seeing the fans, man. They're always passionate. For them to travel and have that much passion and them screaming, there was always a great connection with the fans to come out and support us. So we definitely appreciate it. Oh, yeah, it's great.
Starting point is 00:29:21 I really want to focus on my birthday, but it's a great win as a team. I just said that during camp, at the end of camp, I'm just to focus my birthday, but it's a great win as a team. I just said During camp, you know at any camp. I'm saying why not us, you know, I don't think nobody's spitting up from us Cute that underdog mentality, but just stay hungry, you know, we know, you know, just keep believing in each other You know because all of us in that building all of us together We want got to make it happen No matter what anybody writes, what anybody says, we don't want to go out there and do it each and every day. Each practice, each play, and just keep believing in each other. Like I told them, why not us? Why we can't do it? So that's why we're going to keep that same mentality and keep working.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I would say thank you, and I love her. I just want to hug her. I appreciate you, with that story you put out. And, you know, it's indescribable, man. If I could see it right now, I wouldn't tell him what I'd do. I was happy as hell, man. If he could have had one earlier in the game and he got that one. And I was just happy for him to be able to get one to end the game off the way he did. Finally, we will hear from Logan Ryan.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Man, it feels great, man. We put a lot of work in. We had a lot of belief. It was just a different feeling coming up here from two years ago. Two years ago, I think we were happy to be here, happy to be in the game. This time, we believed we could win, and I think that showed. We challenged, and we didn't back down. I mean, hats off to Bill, Tom, Julian, those guys.
Starting point is 00:30:47 It's hard to do that here. I know I've been on that side, so I know how hard it is to do so. I don't know if it hit us yet, but it's hard to do here, but I mean, we believe we could. Yeah, I mean, everyone knows I should have had the one before halftime. And I was looking at the run before I even secured the catch, and I never do that. I always pride myself on having great hands and I dropped the easiest the run before I even secured the catch, and I never do that. I always pride myself on having great hands,
Starting point is 00:31:07 and I dropped the easiest pick of my career. But I had faith. I said the ball's going to come back to me, and I think every one of my teammates knew that was a fluke and said, look, the ball's going to come back to you again. It's going to come back to you again, and I believed it. And what do you know? It came right back to me again, so I appreciate TB12 for that one, man.
Starting point is 00:31:23 That one's going on my mantle. Huge, man. We were locked going on my mantle. Huge, man. We were locked in. We took all their punches. They got us off guard a little bit. They kind of templed us. They had the misdirection with that old man and stuff going. I think we withstood all the punches.
Starting point is 00:31:35 We withstood the hostile environment, and we came out on top, man. We came in here. We ran the ball. We stopped the run the best we could, and we got after Julian the best we could, and that was our keys. I think we executed him, we're gonna have more points today one more from Logan Ryan here this is an interview he did with Sirius XM's NFL channel very interesting we played him last year during the season and played well and beat him we practiced against him in camp so I mean with Vrabel and John Robinson I mean we know the organizations that run similarly we saw those guys a lot i obviously know those guys a lot i was frustrated
Starting point is 00:32:07 the bus driver took the wrong way to get here he took us a lot longer so i know the ins and outs but a lot of familiar faces one of the fans were louder than i remember it was an epic environment it was pretty fun but i was so focused on matching up with edelman and tom brady that i was able to focus all that out and make the play at the end the other minute I know those guys well man they're elite championship organization with all class I know Tom Brady Julian Edelman obviously James White and the McCourty twins Gilmore Hightower and they all pretty much man they do their job and they're champions and then I know Kyle Van Noy as well and friendly with him and he always just finds a way to say some crazy stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And before the game, he said how it's a revenge tour and how we're first because we beat them last year. And I guess when you talk like that and you lose, then guys can laugh at you, poke jokes at it. But that's how he is, man. He's a good guy, goofy guy, but he's got to stop talking so much. Let the play do the talking. They have a lot of guys that are really good around them that do that.
Starting point is 00:33:03 So I'm going to poke fun Planet Kyle for his revenge tour. It ended soon, and he'll be home, and, you know, he'll be able to watch this on TV. All right, guys, that is going to do it for Titans Talk. We heard from Mike Vrabel. We heard from Derek Henry. We heard extensively from Logan Ryan. Some really good stuff in there.
Starting point is 00:33:20 I hope you guys enjoyed. Of course, we did our Tighten Up, Tighten Down segment. We talked about the keys to the game and how our game preview and all the information that we talked about last week on our statistical foundation, our crossover Wednesday conversation, our schematic breakdown and Tic Tac Titans film review. All of that culminated on the field and actually played out for us on Saturday night. An incredible victory. The Dynasty Slayers, the Hyenas, the Lion Hunters take everything.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Ladies and gentlemen, the Tennessee Titans survive in advance and end the Patriots dynasty as we know it. One of the greatest wins in Titans history. And now we move forward to the Baltimore Ravens. On Tuesday's show, we will start that conversation, but for now, enjoy Titans fans. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans. you
