10-31-17. It was a tough day for the
Tennessee Titans in their 2016 NFL
season opening. 25-16 loss to the
Minnesota Vikings as two offensive
turnovers. One interception, one fumble.
Both returned by Minnesota for scores led the
Vikings to the victory at Nissan Stadium on Sunday. The Titans defense however had a pretty good day
limiting Adrian Peterson to just 31 yards on 19 carries while keeping Minnesota out of the end
zone allowing no offensive touchdowns. The turnovers though the key as Minnesota collected one interception again
returned for a touchdown by linebacker Eric Kendrick and a defensive touchdown off a fumble
both the interception and the fumble coming from Marcus Mariota as the second year Titans
quarterback struggled especially in the second half after the Titans were able to build a 10-0
halftime lead. Tennessee moves on to Week 2.
They'll travel to Detroit to face the Lions next Sunday
and look to bounce back after this staggering loss today
in a game that they felt like coming in.
They had an opportunity to win with Minnesota going with Sean Hill at quarterback
after the season-ending injury to Teddy Bridgewater.
