Welcome in to another edition of Locked On Titans. I'm Jimmy Morris, joined as always by Terry Lambert. Terry, how are you tonight?
You know, just hanging on to this Titans rollercoaster.
Yeah, it's so interesting from week to week. You just never know what you're going to get.
And then today, you know, from quarter to quarter, you didn't know what you were going to get.
So, you know, got a win. That's good. We haven't been able to talk about a win in a couple weeks, so we'll take that.
You keep the slim playoff hopes alive.
So, you know, you're still playing for something in December.
So that's not necessarily a bad thing, but still a lot of areas for concern about this team.
We'll get into all that here in just a minute.
Before we do that, reminds you we're at communityseedermiracles.com.

All right, so the Titans get a win today against the Jets.
It was definitely not pretty.
But as they do from time to time,
they were able to make plays late in the game when it mattered.
The offense was up and down, as it usually is.
The defense was solid again today.
I mean, didn't give an offensive touchdown to the Jets.
So, you know, you can't help but be pleased with that.
But, you know, it's just one of those games where the Titans go down 16-0
and you feel like, okay, here we go again.
They're going to get blown out.
The slow start, not getting up in a game where, you know,
everything's on the line again.
So it's kind of having those same, like, messages rolling through your head.
And then all of a sudden they just kind of hang around, hang around, hang around in the fourth quarter. They have, you know,
two chances where they're down there at the 10 or even inside the 10 end up
with field goals. So again, you feel like, okay, they had their chance.
They blew it. It's not their day draft season. And they, you know,
they get the ball back, drive down the field,
Marcus Mario finds Corey Davis for a touchdown.
Titans win.
So it's kind of been this season all in one game, just the ups and the downs.
And at the end of the day, you walk away.
It's not over yet, but you still just don't necessarily feel really great about where they are.
Yeah, the Jets are 3-9. I, I think people forget that you caught up in the moment
You know, I got excited, you know watching Marcus Mario to do his thing
Yeah, and to his credit when the games on the line, there's not a lot of people better
In the clutch you go back to the Kansas City playoff game you go back to that Jacksonville game
Dude, just gets it done when he has to and he did it again today. You look at that run
He was kind of weaving through the defense. So
It really wasn't happening too consistently for him through the air
It looked like kind of like that Colts game where he was just hanging out in the pocket
didn't really know what he was seeing or didn't trust it and then the the office of law was breaking down but
Somehow someway found a way but you know, I'm like you I felt great after the win
you know, it's it's exciting you're up and then kind of
Taking a couple hours and looking back just don't feel too great about this group
I mean you see the same issues pop up a couple hours and looking back, just don't feel too great about this group.
I mean, you see the same issues pop up, offensive line,
no consistent separations at receiver.
You pointed out that their first third down conversion was on the Corey Davis
touchdown to win the game.
I mean, all that, that's red flags to me.
Yeah, and listen, you're not going to win very many games
where you're 1-11 on third down.
I mean, that's pretty much unheard of in the NFL.
So they were lucky to get there.
Lucky, like you said, that you're playing an opponent that only has three wins.
So, I mean, all that plays into it.
And look, I mean, we look back at that Bills game,
and that's probably the most, I guess the most frustrating game of this season.
And if they win that game, you know, 7-5 is so much different than 6-6.
It's just one game.
But it's just it makes a world of difference as far as, you know,
the off picture and all that kind of stuff.
And so, you know, we look back on that
and talk about how the Titans should have won that game.
They were able to make the plays that they needed to make today to get a win.
So you at least have to give them credit
for that. Like you said,
when Marcus gets the ball at the end of the game,
you have to feel pretty good about it. In that situation
in his career, he's been really good.
He, again, took him down
on that last drive today.
Was able to get a touchdown.
All those things are good,
but it's just
the same issues that crop up over and over.
And so, again, keep things alive for another week.
You're still, I guess, somewhat in the mix for a wild card berth.
If you can win out, I think 10-6 gets you there.
Most years it does, but how much confidence do we have that they can do that?
Not a whole lot.
But, you know, again, keep the gym alive for one more week.
I wish there was more.
I don't know.
I really hoped when we got a new coaching staff to start the year,
I really hoped we would be in a different situation than we were in last year.
And I said on Twitter during the game,
it feels a lot of times like Groundhog Day with this team.
We're talking about how they need interior offensive line, wide receiver, and edge rusher.
Those are their biggest needs heading into the draft.
Seems like that's the case every year.
We're sitting here after a win and talking about they won, it's good, kept hope alive, blah, blah, blah.
But you still don't feel great about where they are.
It just feels like we're having the exact same conversations that we were having last year.
Now, I don't know. There's a lot of people, I guess, that you can put the fault on for that.
We like to go, well, it's John Robinson's fault, or it's Mike Bramble's fault, or they should have kept Mike Malarkey.
Whatever the different things that people like to blame for where we are.
But at the end of the day,
I think it's a little bit of a combination
of all that. Not that they should have kept Malarkey.
But, you know, problems with the
coaching staff, problems with the personnel,
problems with Marcus and Todd.
I mean, there's just all these different things that are
swirling around, and it just kind of
seems like we can't get out of that same cycle.
Yeah, a little bit of it is dumb luck, too.
I mean, Delaney Walker injury, Rashard Matthews quits the team,
and by the way, he was inactive today.
Yeah.
So just a brilliant business decision on his part.
But, yeah, like you were saying, it's just a sum of all parts.
You know, you've got the Jack Conklin deal.
He's clearly not right.
I really – it doesn't matter what anyone tells me.
That's not who he is.
That's not who he's been since he's been in this league.
Then you've got Klein not playing well.
You've got them shifting the offensive line.
At least they're trying there.
But when you've got a broken offensive line
and you don't have consistency from receivers,
it's hard for Marcus Mariota to get in some sort of rhythm.
So I remain high on Marcus just for that reason.
I think he's winning, playing at a decent level
in spite of everything that's happening around him.
So, man, you just want a little stability here just watching that game
It just seemed like he was on the run uncomfortable all day long and they're gonna have to fix that because
You got the Jaguars coming to town on Thursday. They just blanked the Colts
I mean shut him out. So that was that was shocking to see you've got a trip to New York to play the Giants
You know anything can happen. Giants have some weapons.
And then games against the Redskins and the Colts.
You're going to have to win all of them if you want to make the playoffs.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I just don't feel very good about that possibility for this team.
Let's talk about Rashard Matthews for a minute.
So he quits here because he doesn't like his role on the team.
That's what everybody said.
Basically, he wasn't happy with what was going on here.
He goes to the Jets where they're – I mean, I guess the number one is Robbie Anderson.
Robbie Anderson had a pretty good game today.
He's a guy that can take top of the defense.
You know the skills that he's got.
Their two and three are Quincy and noon one jermaine curse
in in some order there and he can't get on the field ahead of those guys like you said just what
a stupid business is it for that guy because he's playing as the number two here right i mean he's
on the field for more snaps than any receiver not named cory davis if he's still here i mean
unless like there was just something else going on that we you know didn't know about or whatever like he was clearly the second best guy here i just i don't
get it man i don't know if it was like a pride thing you know that happens sometimes where guys
have done a lot of good things at a spot and so they feel like they deserve more than what than
what they're being given um i mean that was it don't know. But it just seems like it was dumb because I just feel like even if, you know,
because they had a team option for next year, the Titans did here.
So even if, you know, he stays here and he, I don't know, catches 40 balls,
whatever it would have been, I feel like he's going to be,
he would have been much more attractive on the market next year staying here
versus going to New York
and being inactive every week. It just doesn't make
a lot of sense. He just overvalued
himself, I think.
It might have been a training camp.
He didn't get to work, and he felt like
a guy like
Taylor was
kind of taking his role. Taylor
made a ton of plays in camp.
Maybe that was it. Maybe Tasha Sharpe was kind of eating his role. You know, Taewon made a ton of plays in camp. So maybe that was it.
Maybe Tasha Sharpe was kind of eaten into his snaps.
But it seemed to me like he was coming off injury
and getting worked back into the offense.
And it's just a bad situation because the Titans could have used him.
I mean, you have Rashard catching that ball in Buffalo instead of Nick Williams.
Titans are probably 7-5 right now.
So it's on him.
I just, I think, made a knee-jerk decision, got mad, and just quit.
And it's terrible.
It didn't work out for either side.
Yeah, like you said, it just seems like it would have been better for everybody
if he would have stayed here.
All right, coming up, we will talk a little bit about the offense specifically
and the defense specifically.
Before we do that, I'll tell you about my bookie.

So the offense was much better in the second half.
So that's good, right?
I mean, they were able to make some adjustments.
One of those adjustments included inserting Corey Levin at center,
moving Ben Jones to guard to guard now we've spent
so much time over the last couple weeks talking about should they put dennis kelly in for jack
conklin should they put dennis kelly in at guard should they move jack conklin to guard and play
dennis kelly at tackle we never talked about a scenario where they removed quentin spain for the
lineup put in cory levin and move ben j to guard. That's what they went with today.
I mean, I don't know how much specifically that worked,
but that was pretty much the whole second half.
The offense was better in the second half,
so apparently they've seen something that they can work with there.
I don't have a whole lot of faith in that fixing the offense line
just because I don't think Corey Levin's that good.
I don't think Ben Jones is that good anymore.
So I'm not sure that inserting those guys.
Over Quentin Spain, who, at least from my eyes,
looks like he's been the best of those interior three guys
with him and Ben Jones and Josh Klein.
But for whatever reason, they were able to mix that up
today and it worked so I'm assuming that we'll see that going forward and listen we talked for
weeks about how there needed to be some type of shake-up in there that's what they went with today
and so I guess we'll just have to keep an eye and see what happens in a short week this week like
you said Jacksonville on Thursday night I would would assume they would stick with the same combination they had there
because the offense was really night and day different in the second half versus the first half.
I don't understand how you watch Titans games and not point at Kline and Conklin as the problem area.
I would never have guessed that Spain would have been the one to come off the field but again you go back to the offseason they
had a stalemate you know we there was a legit chance that Spain left this
offseason so weird and they paid Josh Klein a ton of money so I don't I don't
know I don't know if you play klein there because of what he's making
i i really just can't wrap my head around that one uh again jack conklin had a rough day he's
not himself and until he becomes himself i don't think marcus mariota will hit his full potential
there so that's that's the main issue here um i thought taewon taylor was great uh you know we
talked this summer about him being Sammy Watkins today
He was Sammy Watkins and guess what that's gonna go on tape
Teams are gonna see that
teams are gonna have to account for that so
It was interesting that they just kind of saw something. I guess they saw something a half-time, but
Taewon got free deep and and I think it was three or four shots.
And one of them, the first one Marcus missed, and he was running wide open.
But they connected on a couple of those, and that changed the game.
I don't think they scored touchdowns off either of them,
but it got them in position to stay alive, kick field goals,
and eventually win it in the end.
Yeah, he had three catches for 104 yards.
The first two catches went for 44 and 55, respectively.
So, yeah, I mean, so he's got two catches for 99 yards on those first two catches.
Like you said, another one that they missed before that,
they could have been a touchdown.
So he could have had, like, a ridiculously huge game.
They need that guy.
And we talked about that all you know summer
long basically you've got to have a guy that can run they can take the top off the defense they
they kept harping on that on the monday night broadcast in houston now you know taiwan didn't
play in that game marcus didn't have any time in that game so to me in that game it was kind of a
stupid thing to keep talking about but that's stupid so that's not surprising but today in the
second half like you said,
for whatever reason, they saw something that said,
we're going to run him down the field, and we're going to throw it to him.
And once they started doing that, it started opening up some other things.
And I think you've seen defenses creeping up on this team
because it's basically been a short passing game or a handoff all year.
And you can only do that for so long before defenses start to basically cheat up
and basically daring you to beat them on the top.
That's what the Jets did today, and the Titans were able to take advantage of it.
Like you said, they missed one that really could have been a touchdown,
but they hit a couple.
And like you said, the biggest thing is going on tape now,
so maybe the teams will have to respect it.
And if they don't, I think at this point we can have at least a little bit of confidence
that Taewon Taylor can get out there and make those plays again.
They're going to have to have him.
They're going to have to have that dimension to this offense.
And so it was really good to see him make a couple of those plays happen
and good to see him back on the field because I think that's a part of their offense they really have missed.
I've been impressed with Derrick Henry the last couple weeks.
We have been harder on Derrick Henry on this podcast than probably anybody else
writing or talking or whatever on the internet.
A guy that's a big back who doesn't run like a big back.
I think he's run like a big back a couple weeks.
I think that there was a point in the season where they
basically told him we're going to deon lewis as a feature back we're going to give david
fluellen carries ahead of you and i think that that lit a fire and we talked about whatever week
it was i can't remember now exactly which week it was but again derrick henry standing in front of
his locker i've got to be better yada yada yada and we talked about oh my gosh we've heard him
say this three four times times now, whatever.
I'm sick of hearing it.
Let's just see it.
He's shown it to us the last few weeks.
I mean, 10 carries 40 yards, not so it jumps off the page at you,
but that's what they need from Derrick Henry.
And they were able to give the ball to him in short yardage situations today,
and he was able to convert.
And if he can do that, that's just another thing this offense has and that touchdown
i mean listen he went one way got stopped came back went another way drove a guy forward got
into the end zone if that's the guy that you're getting he's a guy that is worth having in your
offense whereas before when he wasn't picking up short yardage and he wasn't breaking any long runs
he was a guy that was really more of a detriment.
I think he's taken a huge step forward over the last couple of weeks.
And, I mean, I think that helps them out going forward.
Yeah, 10 carries for 40 yards, only averaging four per carry.
But you know what?
That's better than two.
And, you know, that's what the Titans have been getting.
So if Henry can just take what the defense gives them, you know
It seems like it's been a theme with him since he entered the league
Going back to his rookie season. He just seemed to want to bounce everything outside
But yeah, I mean on that touchdown he got up in there and lowered his head and kept churning
So that's good to see it. That's something we haven't seen from him
Starting to turn the corner, perhaps.
You know, 10 carries led the team.
Deion Lewis only had six.
And we talked about Deion Lewis.
Too many negative plays there, you know, over the past really month.
Trying to hit too many home runs.
And, you know, Derek Henry's just going to take what the defense gives him there.
So, you know, I think it's a big thing for the Titans.
They get in way too many third and longs, you know, really second and longs.
I think you saw them today in a first and 30.
They really shoot themselves in the foot.
So they need to keep it in third and manageable
because they certainly don't need to go one for 11 on third down anymore.
Yeah, and that was another thing that they corrected a little bit in the second half.
Not as many penalties early in drives that, like I said, get them in the first and third.
I mean, you just don't have any prayer of picking that up.
A couple more points on the offense.
Listen, Corey Davis, 3-42 and a touchdown.
Again, not something that jumps off of the page at you,
but they go to him on the game-winning drive.
He gets the game-winning touchdown.
That's the guy they need him to be.
And so you've got to be happy with his development this year.
And, again, I think if you can get some pieces around him
and some pieces around Marcus, you know, there was a point during this season
where everybody was like, oh, my gosh, he wasted the fifth pick on Corey Daniels.
I don't think that's the case.
I think he is turning into the guy they need him to be,
needs some other stuff around him.
But, I mean, they obviously have faith in him, and they can go to him,
and he gets the big catch.
The other guy is Anthony Ferkser.
And, listen, we've given Mike a hard time, you know, on here.
I've given him a hard time on Twitter for his Anthony Ferkser love.
But, listen, they thought that guy, he catches it and he makes plays.
And, again, that doesn't sound like any big thing because it seems like
everybody that's in the NFL should be able to catch the ball when it's
thrown to them and should be able to turn up field and run.
But, listen, Ferkser, I mean, it seems like every week he's – today,
three targets, three catches, 42 yards.
It seems like every single target he gets, he catches the ball,
and he makes a play with it.
He's a guy that has actually become a pretty valuable piece of this offense.
A guy that's bounced back and forth between the active roster and the practice squad.
Him and Johnnie Smith have given them something in the receiving game
the last three or four weeks, and that's made a difference for
what they're able to do and he's a guy that's worth having around and you know maybe a guy that
can carve out a role for himself even you know next year when you've got delaney back when you
when you've got john who playing ahead of him i mean i think he's a guy that's worth having around
and a guy that can make some plays absolutely um yeah I didn't really anticipate John who and first you're kind of becoming
co-tight end options in the past game but that's exactly what we have I mean
both got three targets today John who caught two of his three and first went
three for three so yeah I mean just a really interesting fine you know he saw
some in camp he saw some in the preseason. But another reliable target for Marcus Mariota,
something that he doesn't have many of.
So you just look at this offense as a whole, man.
You look at Corey Davis.
You look at what he's done.
You see the flashes from Taewon today.
If you can kind of harness that, consistently get that,
and add just a veteran number two receiver,
you know, nothing crazy, just someone with some experience,
someone that's proven that can come in here kind of like Rashard Matthews did.
You know, I think this offense becomes a whole different deal.
You know, you've got Tajay Sharp out there who is what he is.
You know, you've said it yourself. He's a
wide receiver four in this league and that's
probably fair.
They're close. You see the flashes.
I think if you fix this offensive
line, they're going to be okay.
It's just frustrating right
now because that offensive line cannot get fixed.
And then the last
thing that I'll say as far
as the offense is concerned.
So, Mark's already had a run in the fourth quarter
where he ends up fumbling at the end of the run.
They got the ball back.
They had the penalty anyway, so they would have gotten to keep the ball.
But there was one point where he could have run out of bounds.
And I'm screaming at the TV like, why are you going out of bounds?
Why are you going out of bounds?
And, you know, he ended up getting a bunch more yards.
And it didn't end up being a problem because they, you know,
they play time and all that stuff.
But that was a little bit scary.
And the Deion Lewis play where he looked like he didn't know he was supposed to get the ball,
and Marcus handed the ball, it hits off his leg.
He ends up picking it up and getting yards.
They've got a couple of those breaks in this game that you feel like as a Titans fan
that that kind of stuff always goes against you.
So I think it's important to remember that in this game,
they got a couple of breaks on those two plays that allowed them to stay in the game.
And so I mean, you can't quantify those things really through the year,
but they were lucky on those couple of plays.
And so maybe that makes up for a couple of things that have happened throughout the year. the year all right coming up we'll talk about what the defense was able to do today
all right so listen another solid defensive effort i think in the first half i mean at least
speaking for myself i was frustrated with the defense because i felt like that i don't know
i just feel like the jets were kind of like sustaining drives taking time off the clock
and there are other bunch of guys that are you know you don just feel like the Jets were kind of sustaining drives, taking time off the clock, and there are other bunch of guys that you don't feel like are very good.
But at the end of the day, you know,
the Jets didn't score an offensive touchdown today.
There were a couple of times where the defense got put in a bad spot
and they were able to hold the Jets to a field goal.
And obviously, you know, that pays off when you win a game 26-22.
So that's good.
We talked about the issues.
The pass rush is still an issue.
They cannot – they can't generate a pass rush from the outside.
You know, I'll be interested to see the snap counts from this game.
I think part of the problem is that Brian Arakpo and Derek Morgan at this point are getting too many snaps.
And listen, those are guys that have been really good for this team.
Derek Morgan has played his whole career here, has been a really solid player.
Brian Arakpo was really good when they first signed him,
but I think at this point they've just both lost a step or two,
and they can't keep up anymore.
I think it's time to start running Landry and Finch
and even Correa out there ahead of those guys.
Just get those guys out there that are able to make some plays
because they're not able to get any pressure off the edge.
Any pressure that they are able to generate right now,
we've talked about this, comes from the blitzes up the middle.
So that's going to be a problem against the Andrew Lux of the world.
It's not going to be a problem against Josh McCown.
They were able to make some plays today, enough to stay in the game,
obviously, and like I say, keep the Jets out of the end zone.
But that's the kind of stuff that scares you going forward
against the better offenses in the league.
And look, when you look at the remaining schedule,
there's not a whole lot of that.
You know, the Jaguars don't have a great offense.
The Giants do.
The Giants are good on offense, but, you know,
Eli Manning doesn't necessarily scare you.
You're talking about the Redskins and Colt McCoy.
So, I mean, you know, maybe it doesn't show up over the next few weeks,
but if they are able to get into the playoffs,
that's the type of thing that becomes a problem,
the fact that they can't generate a rush unless they blitz.
Yeah, two sacks today, one from Jayon and one from Jarrell Casey.
So there you go.
There's your point made right there.
It's not a lot off the edge, and it's not something you can fix.
You know, it kind of is what it is right there. Just not a lot off the edge. It's not something you can fix. It kind of is
what it is right now. All you can do is
perhaps give more snaps
to the younger,
more athletic pass rushers and hope
they can get something done.
I want to talk about this run defense
again. Just not very good.
Isaiah Crowell
didn't have a spectacular
day, but 21 for 98 yards,
averaged 4.7 yards per carry.
Just kind of seemed to move the chains.
And, again, we've talked about this defensive front not having a difference maker
outside of Jarrell Casey.
And even Jarrell Casey, maybe not the best run stuffer out there.
I just think it's a big weakness right there.
So this defense has carried this team at times,
but it seems like as the season goes on,
that run defense is starting to become a bit of an issue.
Yeah, it's been a problem for the last couple weeks.
It wasn't talked about enough early in the year,
but you've really seen it rear its ugly head, so to speak,
over the last couple of weeks.
A couple more things.
Malcolm Butler, good for him.
Gets the interception at the end of the game.
I thought he played well today.
And, listen, he's a guy that, you know,
there are different things that happen when guys get big contracts.
If you've been around MCM long enough to know,
I killed Chris Johnson because Chris Johnson got his money and shut it down.
I'm sorry if you don't feel that way, but I think that's what happened.
He lost that fight, that hunger that he had earlier in his career after he got his money.
I don't think that's what happened with Malcolm Butler.
We talked so much in the summer about Malcolm Butler, about the tone setting that he was doing in training camp, the fire that he came out with practice every day.
So it seems like a guy to me that – and we heard Logan Ryan say it on the Midday 180.
He does the Logan Ryan show.
I'm talking about a guy that just when he gets that much money,
he wants to prove that he earns that contract.
I think he was a guy that was trying to make too much happen earlier this year.
Gets the interception today to steal the game.
So, I mean, I know he's been a guy that, and listen,
we've ripped on him here too, and he's been really
bad at times. But I don't think
it's for a lack of trying.
I don't think it's for a lack of the effort
and that kind of stuff that you sometimes see
when guys get big contracts.
And so that guy, you still
want to root for. And so it was good to see him
kind of seal the game today
with interception. And again, I know it was an easy pick and i had people on twitter told me i could have caught
that wall well yeah that that's fine but it's just good to see a guy like that make a play
in that moment to seal a game um and listen they need him to be good going forward if this team is
going to be good and not even just this year if this team is going to be good down the road he's
here for the next two years at least with that money.
They're not going to cut him, all that kind of stuff.
They're going to need him, and so that was good to see.
The other thing that I'll say, Rashawn Evans.
Rashawn Evans is coming along.
I think he had eight tackles today.
You've seen him show up in a couple of big spots the last couple of weeks.
It's kind of been quiet with everything else that's been going on.
There hasn't been that much talk about him really good or bad throughout the year i think
part of it's just because he missed all training camp and so we just kind of not necessarily forgot
about him but it's just again there's been so many other things that have been good or bad or
whatever he's just kind of been way far down the list of things that we talk about but he's starting
to play well and listen there's going
to be a point where wesley woodyard is not going to be here anymore i think we can feel good if
it's next year whenever it is about your inside linebackers being rashaun evans and john brown
yeah that's the strength of this this defense i mean right right up the middle uh you get evans
and woodyard and and john brown obviously they don't all play together all the time, but
It's a really strong rotation good to see him
Lead the team and tackles he had eight tackles today, so that's good, and you know I think we were pretty fair to him
It's not to overreact to start the year because he missed most training camp
And he's really they've really been patient with him
And he's starting to come along nicely. But yeah for Malcolm Butler really over the last month. It's that Dallas game
We hadn't called his name much, you know, and that's that's what you want to hear
So it good to see him kind of get that pick, you know, obviously the easy pick is whatever
But he sealed the game, you. Get him a little confidence going.
Like you said, the Titans are going to need this guy.
He's not going anywhere.
He's going to be on the field.
Clearly, one of their three best corners.
Still, this coaching staff feels that way.
Good to see him coming along.
It has been interesting that this defense has seemed to get worse
as he's gotten better, though.
I don't know.
That's a weird dynamic to me.
Yeah, this whole team is weird.
Yeah, bizarre.
There's so many things that, yeah.
Like, you think, okay, well, once this gets better,
look how good this is going to be.
And then, like you said, Malcolm Butler, who was the only problem early in the year,
now he's better and everything else is worse.
I don't know.
Jayon Brown leads the team in sacks.
He got another one today. That's not a good thing. thing i mean good for jayon brown he's a good player
and all that kind of stuff but like we've been talking about that just means they're not getting
pressure off of the edge and that's a problem um that's something that they're going to have to
address going forward but listen you know and even when the defense has been bad it's still been in
games the offense wasn't good either so like it the defense really all year has been the least of their worries.
But when you look forward to hopefully projecting a team that can compete in the AFC,
there are just still some big holes in this defense that have to get filled
where even if the offense is going to get better,
if you can't get pressure off the edge, it's going to be a problem
because guys can only cover for so long and all that stuff.
But anyway, the defense was good today.
Like I said, kept the Jets out of the end zone.
The only touchdown was the pick six from the Jets.
So that's good going forward.
Again, hopefully they can build off of that and kind of keep the momentum going.
You've got Jacksonville coming in on Thursday.
Who knows what you're going to get from them,
but it's not going to be an offensive juggernaut.
Who knows what you're going to get from us.
Right, yeah.
This is going to be a really interesting game.
Again, you kind of feel like you need to apologize to the country
for putting it on national television,
but it seems like it kind of plays out that way every year.
We'll have a lot more on that game coming up this week.
We'll have a lot more on this game in the next couple of days. Like I said, I'm interested to see snap counts,
just because I'm interested to see how the offensive line rotation actually
ended up, you know, how that ends up filtering out with Corey Levin,
how much he played.
And now it's on linebackers.
That's going to be something to watch.
Because like I said, there was just a couple times today where Derek Morgan
has a chance to get
a guy outside and the guy just runs him.
And I don't know if Derek Morgan's ever been the fastest
guy in the league, but there were
times early in his career where if he had an angle, he could get
a guy down. It doesn't seem like he can do that
anymore. So I'm interested to
see how that all shook
out and how it changes or doesn't
change necessarily going forward.
Anyway, we'll have a lot more, like I said, on this game
and then quick turnaround for the Jaguars
game Thursday night. So
bcmiracles.com. We'll have a lot
more going up there.
Like I said, we'll be kind of another
