Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - NFL Draft EXPERTS All Pick Jeremiyah Love to Tennessee Titans, But Could It All Be A SMOKE SCREEN
Episode Date: March 18, 2026The Tennessee Titans have become the favorites to take Jeremiyah Love in the first round. Every well-known draft analyst like Mel Kiper, Daniel Jeremiah, Todd McShay and Dan Brugler all have mocked Lo...ve to the Titans in their most recent update. This could just be a logical pick and Love would make a lot of sense for the Titans. However, this also has the potential to be an elaborate smokescreen by one of the teams ahead of the Titans or the Titans themselves to entice a trade up for the talented runner. If that happens, there is no way it doesn't benefit the Titans in some way. Basically, every NFL draft expert has Jeremiah Love going to the Tennessee Titans, and I can't help it,
but it makes me very skeptical.
I'll explain why on today's edition of Locked on Titans.
You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked On Podcast Network,

Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast.
I am your host, Tyler Ruland Titans fans.
On today's show, we'll talk about how every big time NFL draft analyst has the Tennessee Titans taking Jeremiah love
Why it does make sense, but also why it could very well be an elaborate smoke screen by the Titans or by someone else
Before we dive in, do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans

Couldn't do it without you guys if you aren't an everydayer.
What are you doing?
It is about draft season.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to keep you up to date with mock drafts,
prospect reviews, positional breakdowns,
all of that so you know exactly what to expect
heading into one of the biggest football weekends of the year.
And before you know it, the Tennessee Titans will be playing football once again.
So stay locked in with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world.
Locked on Titans.
But with that being said, again,
all, literally all
of the big time draft analysts,
draft experts, whatever you want to call them,
all of the big ones in their most recent mock drafts
have the Tennessee Titans taking Jeremiah Love at number four.
Whether it's Mel Kiper from ESPN,
whether it's Daniel Jeremiah from NFL Network,
whether it's Todd McShay and wherever he's working these days,
Dane Brugler for the Athletic,
who is one of my personal,
favorites, all of the big time mock drafters,
have the Titans taking Jeremiah Love.
Now, I know that to a lot of you,
that is music to your ears.
You want the Tennessee Titans to take Jeremiah Love.
You think that that's the best move at number four.
And as I have said, as many times as I possibly can,
I would love that move as well.
I would be very happy to have Jeremiah Love on the Tennessee Titans.
but it's a little strange to me
that all of them have that.
This is one of two things
and the first thing, and I'll put my skepticism to the side for a moment,
the first thing that this could be is,
it just makes sense.
This could be the most logical pick in the NFL draft
outside of Fernando Mendoza at number one.
Like this seems to be the most clear-cut connection
in the NFL draft.
And again, the reasons are obvious.
It's not a great top of the first round,
which makes positional value of taking a running back, not as risky.
You need somebody in the backfield that can help Cam Ward.
There aren't any high-level wide receivers without any question mark.
So getting a playmaker of Jeremiah loves caliber who not only can run the football
but can catch the ball out of the back field, line up as a wide receiver,
be a playmaker on offense.
All of that makes a ton of sense.
all of it.
And then with Mendoza off the board,
you probably see R. Val Reese at number two,
maybe David Bailey at number three.
People have more question marks in the NFL about Rubin Bain
than the media or the fan base seems to have.
So would you take Sunny Stiles at linebacker,
Caleb Downs at safety, reach for Carnell Tate?
You know, when you look at the board,
you look at the skill set of the player,
you look what the Tennessee Titans need as a,
team, it does all make sense that the Tennessee Titans would take Jeremiah Love.
So is it that simple?
Is it as simple as everything fits?
The puzzle goes together.
It very well could be.
Again, I would be very excited to have Jeremiah Love on the Tennessee Titans
and with their lack of movement at running back outside of bringing back Julius Chestnut,
the roster pirate cannot be thrown overboard.
He just continues to find a way back on the ship.
Him, Mason Kinsey.
will not die, right?
They just refuse.
And good for them.
But the Titans didn't go out and sign a Brian Robinson.
They didn't sign a Kenneth Walker.
And when you look at all the other teams around them,
in front of them, at least,
it makes it less likely that they would do it.
The Jets just brought back Brees Hall.
They're not drafted Jeremiah Love.
Everybody knows that.
The Cardinals just went and signed three different running backs.
So restructured James Connor and brought in Tyler Algear
and they still have Trey Benson coming off injury.
and they brought in somebody else as well.
Like, they have added a bunch to their running back room.
So maybe my pessimism, my skepticism, maybe it's all misplaced.
Maybe this is just obvious.
It just makes sense.
And that's why all the big-time draft analysts,
all of the Titans fan base essentially at this point,
seem to be on love at number four.
And it's not even just the draft analyst.
Uh, why can't I think of his name?
Lewis Riddick from ESPN during a segment this morning on ESPN talking about Mel Kuyper's mock draft
where he had the Tennessee Titans taking Jeremiah Love at number four.
Lewis Riddick made it sound like he has inside information.
He said, quote, they love him.
They absolutely love him.
talking about Jeremiah love and the Titans.
So is it more than just draft connection?
Is it more than just the obvious fit?
Now we're getting into reports that the Titans love them.
And that is where I have a hard time putting the skepticism aside.
Because what do we know about this time of year, folks?
It is smoke screen season.

And let's continue today's bonus edition of the Locked on Titans podcast
talking about all of the experts,
all of the draft nicks,
all the draft gurus, whatever you want to call them.
They all have the Tennessee Titans taking Jeremiah Love at number four.
Now we talked about why it does make sense
and we're going to continue to talk about Jeremy.
I mean, we have five weeks until the draft.
I don't know how I'm going to squeeze more juice
out of the Jeremiah Love conversation,
but boy, you guys love talking about it.
So I guess we'll find a way.
But at the end of the day,
I can't help but be a little skeptical.
It's smokescreen season.
And when you get everybody
talking about
this team likes this guy,
this team likes this guy, they love
them, the report's coming in, and it's only
going to intensify.
It makes me wonder
who wants everyone to know how much the Tennessee Titans love Jeremiah Love?
Who does it benefit for the world to know
just how smitten the Titans are with Jeremiah Love?
Well, it's a couple of different ways to look at it.
It could benefit the Arizona Cardinals
who are one spot ahead of the Titans,
and in theory, if you were the Arizona Cardinals
and you won an offensive lineman,
but taking an offensive lineman at number three overall,
not really great value.
It would be nice to drop back a little bit.
If you were the Arizona Cardinals
and you wanted somebody to potentially trade up
to get Jeremiah Love,
wouldn't you want everyone to know
that the Titans are going to take them at number four?
Wouldn't that help you drive up the price,
drive up the offers, drive up the interest?
Now, from a skeptical,
but less skeptical,
standpoint, if you're the Tennessee Titans
and you want somebody to trade up
to get Jeremiah Love.
And you want that trade offer
to be as good as possible.
Doesn't
we really love Jeremiah Love?
You're going to have to blow our socks off
to get us to move off Jeremiah Love.
We're in love with him.
Your offer better be good or we're not going to do it.
Doesn't that sound
better than
we're not taking Jeremiah Love
but if you want to come up at 4 to get him
then we'll listen
right
so no matter whether
it's the Cardinals
whether it's the Titans
whether they like Jeremiah Love for real
or it's all just a game
no matter what
it would make sense
for
one of those parties
to make sure
everybody knows
the Titans want Jeremiah Love.
Whether it's the Titans or the Cardinals.
Or, I mean, the Jets, for that matter.
I doubt it would be the Jets.
But here's my thing.
Some of you guys are going to hear this skepticism.
You're going to hear this pessimism from me.
Just, you know, been around the league too long to five weeks out from the draft.
Oh, it's a shoe in.
They're taking Jeremiah Love.
I have a hard time believing stuff like that.
because I've seen too many times
where it's lying season.
It's smokescreen season.
And teams have ulterior motives and leak stuff to the media
because they want stuff out there
when really they're playing a different game.
They have a benevolent agenda, you could say.
But that would still be great for the Titans.
Because if somebody jumps in front
of the Titans to take Jeremiah Love at 3,
then that means R. Val Rees, Rubin Bain,
David Bailey. One, two of the three edge rushers will fall to them.
If it's the Titans that are trying to entice somebody to come up for a trade,
now the Titans are going to get an even better trade down package.
So, I know that a lot of you guys out there, and I'm going to talk about that,
I think I'm going to call it stuck on love.
But like, I am not as, they have to take Jeremiah
or I'm going to crash out.
I'm out on this team if they don't take Jeremiah
Love, it's got to happen.
Like a lot of you guys are.
I'm not like that.
That's not the end-all be-all.
That's not the only option that I would be happy with.
I think that's a silly mindset, if I'm honest with you.
To think that Jeremiah Love is the only good pick
or the only good avenue the Titans have available to him.
But again, either someone trained,
up in front of the Titans and it pushes a good player down the board.
Or the Titans get a great trade that's even better than it would have been
because the Titans are letting everyone know they would like Jeremiah Love.
and they're not just going to move off Jeremiah Love for a second round pick.
No, it better be a good package.
You better earn it if you want Jeremiah Love.
So, again, whether it's a smokescreen, whether it's real,
in my opinion, it's good for the Tennessee Titans
for people to know how much they love him.
There is no downside here.
Now, again, you guys who are gung-ho on Jeremiah Love,
nothing else they have to pick love
or you're not going to be happy.
You probably don't feel that way, but I do.
So to me, whether it's real, whether it's fake,
whether it's the Cardinals, whether it's the Titans,
it's good news for the Tennessee Titans.
But with that being said,
that's going to do it for today.
bonus episode. I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
