Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans ABSOLUTELY AWFUL Free Agency Predictions Includes Re-Signing Chig Okonkwo & No CBs
Episode Date: February 12, 2026The Tennessee Titans need to make big moves in free agency, but what they should not do is re-sign Chig Okonkwo, bring in a linebacker that does the same things as Cedric Gray and avoid signing a corn...erback, which is their biggest position of need. If they do that, it would be a terrible free agent haul no matter what signings they do make even if guys like Wan'Dale Robinson, Kwity Paye and Nick Cross do make sense. Tyler goes over a mock free agency from Fox Sports that would be a disaster. I just saw one of the worst free agent predictions for the Tennessee Titans that I've ever seen.
And I'm going to break it down for you on a bonus edition of Locked on Titans.
You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked on Podcast network.
Your team every day.
Welcome to a bonus edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans.
I just saw one of the worst free agent predictions for the Tennessee Titans.
I'm going to tell you who was signed, where it came from,
and why I think it is absolutely pitiful.
Before we dive in, do want to thank you for making Locked-on Titans.
Your first listen each and every day.
Remember Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free.
Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed.
But again, the Tennessee Titans have a massive free agency ahead of them.
They have to use the money that they have to fill a ton of holes
and get a lot of veterans that can help this team.
And if we want to know, one of the worst ways to do it,
we need to look no further than what Fox Sports put together recently,
which there are a couple of good signings.
But overall, I think it would be an absolute disaster for the Tennessee Titans.
Let's dive right in here to what they had going.
Number one, Quincy Williams, linebacker,
I get that he played linebacker for Robert Sala with the New York Jets,
and I understand that.
but Quincy Williams is 5 foot 11, 230 pounds.
He's a guy who needs to go downhill, blitz, be aggressive.
He's essentially the same exact player as Cedric Gray.
Why would I sign Quincy Williams to do the same exact thing
that the Titans have a better linebacker to do?
To me, that's just laziness.
That's just, oh, he played for Robert Soli, he plays linebacker.
They're going to draft him.
Not only that, but they had the Titans resigning Chigaconquo.
And again, I have talked about this.
at length at this point.
Chigacanquo should not be signed back
unless it is absolutely bare minimum contract
one year 5 million, one year 6 million at max.
He doesn't fit Brian Dable's offense.
He's the worst blocking tight end in the entire NFL.
No, he can't play wide receiver.
No, he can't play running back.
If he could, he would play wide receiver
or play running back.
And fullback, give me a break.
I just said he's one of the worst blockers
in the entire NFL.
The Tennessee Titans need to go out and sign a real tight end
that can not only catch the ball, but block as well
because the only thing that Chickicconquo brings to the table
is yards after catch.
Not a good route runner.
Not good in contested situations.
Again, can't block, can't line up with his hand in the dirt as a wide tight end.
It gives you no versatility whatsoever.
He's basically just a big slot wide receiver
that isn't quick enough to be a wide receiver
and doesn't run good enough routes to be a wide receiver.
Or again, he would be.
a wide receiver. So if the big moves that you have for the Tennessee Titans,
and again, this is out of the top 100 free agents, if the big moves that you have for the Tennessee
Titans, one of the five moves that they're making includes resigning Chigaconquo,
what are we doing? And not only that, but not one of the moves that they didn't make,
or did make, but one of the moves that they didn't make really has me perturbed.
where is the cornerback?
The biggest need on this football team,
the biggest need that this roster has right now
is at cornerback.
They have no cornerbacks.
Marcus Harris is a sixth-round rookie who just had a knee injury.
I think that he could be a starter in the slot
and Kevin Winston can be a big nickel on early downs and play in the slot.
But who's going to play outside corner?
Darrell Baker is a free agent as well.
all they have is Micah Robinson.
You know, like, what are we talking about here?
So the fact that the Titans signed Chica Conquo back,
they signed Quincy Williams, they sign us safety.
You know, like, what are we doing here?
You know, what are we really doing here?
At the position that the Titans need the most at cornerback,
they need two outside cornerbacks in free agency,
and you're telling me out of the top 100 free agents in the NFL,
the Titans didn't get any of those cornerbacks.
Again, to me, if the Titans don't get one or, I mean, two of the cornerback position
out of the top 100 free agents in the NFL this all season,
what a disaster.
What a disaster that would be.
I mean, absolutely insane.
So there are some signings that I do like in this mock free agency from 5.
sports, but to re-sign Chigacanquo, bring in Quincy Williams, who's an undersized physical
linebacker like you have in Cedric Gray, and then not sign a corner at all.
No matter what signings you make, that would make it an absolute disaster.
But again, I do like three of the moves, and we'll talk about those players right now.
Before we do, do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by Fan Dual
Sportsbook.

Titans fans, let's continue today's bonus edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
We talked about this free agency hall done by Fox Sports and I'm not going to, you know,
shout out the individual person who wrote it.
I'm not trying to hate, but I mean, as an exercise,
you don't sign a cornerback, you sign Quincy Williams,
you bring back Chicka-Conquo out there,
just make this absolutely terrible.
But there are a couple of moves here that I actually do like
and think would make some sense.
Number one, Wondale Robinson.
If the Tennessee Titans were able to sign Wondell Robinson at wide receiver,
I think that would be an absolute home run.
Now, let me say this.
Is Wondell Robinson a number one,
wide receiver, an alpha wide receiver. No, he isn't.
He's a good slot receiver who could be your two, be your three.
But the Titans can't really get their hands on a number one wide receiver this all season.
I think Wondale Robinson would make a ton of sense.
You bring back Calvin Ridley.
You bring in Wondale Robinson.
You hope for some improvement from Elicio Manor and Chim Dike.
You get a guy in the draft as well, maybe a Chris Brazel from Tennessee.
That would make a ton of sense.
A Ted Hurst.
know, a bigger guy.
Maybe you can afford to wait on a guy like Chris Bell,
who, if there's any wide receiver in the NFL draft this year,
that reminds me of A.J. Brown, it's Chris Bell.
Maybe you pull a trade for Marvin Harrison, Jr.
Maybe you pull a trade for A.J. Brown.
No, I don't think that that's going to happen.
But nonetheless, nonetheless, I would really like Wondale Robinson on the Tennessee Titans.
I think that would make a ton of sense for them.
And with the connection with Brian Dable, the short yardage routes,
the quick option routes, inside, outside, stop, go vertical.
Wondell Robinson could really do it all, went for a thousand yards, and 90 catches this year.
Back-to-back seasons of 90 catches as well.
Quitty Pay is another name that I am intrigued by.
Now, Quitty Pay has not lived up to his first round status.
There's no doubt about that.
But he is a hand in the dirt, big, physical defensive end that can play against the run
and give you like a Bud Dupree-style pass rusher is what I would.
say quidipay is. He's more of a clean-up sack guy. His motor runs
runs hot. He gives a ton of effort all the time.
So he can't be your
number one alpha pass rusher. Like, it's going to
use speed and get to the quarterback and all of that. But if you can't get
Trey Hendrickson because he's on the tag, and Adoppe Owe goes back to the
Chargers or maybe goes back to the Baltimore Ravens with Jesse Mentor,
Jalen Phillips, I think, could go back to the Eagles. Maybe he goes, if you can't
get your hands on any of the number one edge rushers.
I think going down one level to get a physical presence like Quitty Pay on the defensive line,
I wouldn't hate that.
You know, I wouldn't be over the moon.
It would be like a B signing for me.
A B grade is what I would give that.
But at the end of the day, the Titans need help on the edge.
And Quitty pay can be a hand in the dirt, 4-3 defensive end,
and play physical against the run and give you good effort and motor in the pass rush.
Is it an ideal elite solution?
No.
But maybe the Titans go with Quitty Pay as their physical defensive end.
And then they go David Bailey as their speed defense event.
You know, and then you have a combination, which Robert Sala likes to have on his defense.
Maybe that is a possibility.
The last guy is safety, Nick Cross.
And I do find Nick Cross very interesting.
He's still only 24 years old.
He is an elite athlete by NFL standards.
He's had five interceptions total in the last three years.
He plays all the games.
He only missed one game as rookie years,
played every game since.
He played with Gus Bradley,
and Quitty Pay played with Gus Bradley in Indianapolis as well.
So there's a connection there.
But he played with Gus Bradley in Indianapolis,
and I've talked about how Kevin Winston,
Amani Hooker,
those are safeties that you want to see going forward.
You want to use them towards the line of scrimmage.
They're not deep free safety type guys.
Amani Hooker isn't anymore.
You know what I mean?
And Kevin Winston is not that, period.
So if you want somebody who can roam the back end and play center field
and Robert Sulla's cover three and cover four match,
I think Nick Cross makes a ton of sense.
But again, bringing back Chigalcuo,
signing Quincy Williams, who is overlap with Cedric Gray,
and not signing any cornerbacks,
absolutely terrible.
That would be a bad haul for the Tennessee Titans,
even if I liked three of the moves that actually did get made.
But with that being said, again, this is a bonus edition,
of the show.
