Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans Anthony Hill is Robert Saleh's PERFECT LINEBACKER After TRADE UP in NFL Draft
Episode Date: April 25, 2026The Tennessee Titans had one pick on Day 2 of the NFL Draft and they were not content to sit around and wait for it as they trade up to select linebacker Anthony Hill out of Texas. Hill is Robert Sale...h's perfect linebacker as he has great length, athleticism and violent tendencies out on the field. Hill needs to polish his game and be better in coverage, but he is a great fit next to Cedric Gray as the linebacker tandem of the future. Now the Titans can turn their focus to Day 3 where they have five more picks. They have the ammo to move up and down the board as needed with offensive line still a major need that must be addressed. The Tennessee Titans trade up and get Robert Salah's ideal linebacker in Anthony Hill.
And it's just another example of how the Tennessee Titans are on the hunt this weekend.

We are going to talk about the Tennessee Titans once again getting aggressive,
trading up in the third round and getting Anthony Hill, the linebacker out of Texas.
This is another example of how the Tennessee Titans are on the hunt.
They're being aggressive.
They are coming out swinging in this draft, and I absolutely love it.
We'll discuss that.
Plus, look ahead to day three of the NFL draft.
What do the Titans need to do next?
Who's available for them?
So much to discuss on today's day two recap.
Before we dive in, do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans.

If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one.
Stay locked in to the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world locked on Titans.
But again, the Tennessee Titans stay aggressive like they have since the draft started
and they go get one of their guys on the board with linebacker Anthony Hill.
Number one, this is the exact kind of move that we talked about on the pre-draft episode before day two began.
I told you that I thought what the Tennessee Titan should do is get aggressive.
You don't need a nine-player draft class on this roster.
You could make the argument you don't need an eight.
The Titans would be fine with drafting seven people.
I would be fine if the Titans drafted six people at the end of the day.
So use some of these day three picks that you have with the picks that you have available.
that are higher like 69 and move around the board to get your guys.
And literally, that's exactly the process that the Titans followed.
They took pick 144 and picked 69 and moved up to pick 60.
And they get Anthony Hill, the linebacker out of Texas.
And the Tennessee Titans had to make this move.
They had to make this move.
The Denver Broncos wanted Anthony Hill at linebacker.
The Denver Broncos were about to go take Anthony Hill at linebacker.
The Denver media is talking about it. Denver fans are angry. They're like everybody knew that we liked
Anthony Hill. So of course the Titans knew that they could come up and snipe us for him. Broncos fans are
angry. The Titans could not have sat back at 69 and got Anthony Hill. And it's not like you could say,
well, there would have been other linebackers available at 69. Well, they wouldn't have been
Anthony Hill. And Anthony Hill is Robert Salas' ideal linebacker prospect. They literally called him
the prototype. Mike Borganzi,
Titans general manager, called
Anthony Hill the prototype linebacker
for Robert Salas' defense.
6'2, 240 pounds,
32 and some change, inch arms.
He just turned 21 years old,
another very young prospect,
which the Titans have hammered with Tate,
with Falk, and now he'll all just
barely turned 21 years old.
Ran a 4-5 in the 40-yard dash,
fast and violent. That's
Anthony Hill. He is physical. He's violent. He's downhill. He's a playmaker on the ball.
He can be a little over-aggressive. He can get a little lost in coverage underneath zone coverage
awareness. But he's great at running down the seam with tight ends, which is critical.
In Robert Salas' defense, he's a Mike linebacker that can play next to Cedric Gray at the Will
linebacker spot. He's a green dot linebacker who is a great communicator and a great
football character guy. He is the ideal linebacker to be the Mike linebacker.
and Robert Salas defense, and they moved up and got their guy.
That's what I love.
Again, Keldrick Falk, I like Anthony Hill, though.
If you listen to my NFL draft preview series,
when I talked about linebackers, I pointed him out over and over as,
if the Titans aren't going to take Sonny Stiles,
then they should take Anthony Hill.
I really like Anthony Hill as an option.
I like Anthony Hill better than Jacob Rodriguez or C.J. Allen or Josiah Trotter.
Like I was big on Anthony Hill
because he is a perfect fit.
And again,
Anthony Hill being a perfect fit
for Robert Salah's defense
is another example of how the Tennessee Titans
aren't drafting this weekend.
They're hunting.
No, they're not hunting.
They're not out there hunting.
We're going hunting.
No, they're hunt.
That's what the Titans are doing right now.
They're out there.
A couple of bush,
sitting in a tree stand,
camo on, hunting.
Okay?
So look, you can think what you want
about the players.
Think what you want about the individual selections.
But I see some criticism out there
that the Titans have had bad process,
that the trades are bad value,
and I'm just like,
I don't get it at all.
I feel the total opposite of that.
I feel like the Titans process
has been incredible.
The Titans have done exactly
what I wanted them to do. This is the exact
calculated aggressiveness
I wanted to see from the Titans.
So let's go through this.
And I'm going to talk about this again tomorrow
as we get ready for day three and I'll probably bring it up
again next week too as we evaluate
the draft as a total because it does
make me feel differently about
the Titans draft. Again, regardless
of how you feel about Cornell Tate's
upside, Keldrick Falk's potential
and whether he can live up to it,
Anthony Hill's potential
and whether he can live up to the athleticism,
Regardless of how you feel about the individual players, think about this as a concept.
Carnell Tate at number four was a bit of a surprise, right?
We didn't expect them to go with Carnell Tate, the national media, the mock draft draft drafts,
that nobody really was saying Carnell Tate is the real option.
But then we hear Brian Dable talking to Cornell Tate on the draft call,
which the draft calls are always the best, right?
When they get the call.
Brian Dable on the phone, hey, tell Brian Hartline that I said hi, yeah, I was
just talking to Brian the other day.
Brian Daible
was talking to Brian Hartline.
Brian Hartline was the former
wide receiver coach at the Ohio State
University for the Buckeyes
when all those good wide receivers came through.
Brian Daibble is at
least on very good terms
with Brian Hartline.
Who knows Cornell Tate better than anybody else?
Brian Hartlein.
Who just coached him.
That's a Brian Daible pick.
Cornell Tate was a
Brian Daibble pick.
He knows his old wide receiver coach telling him to say hi.
Tell Brian Hartland has said hi.
I just talked to him.
And you added T.J. Hushmanzada.
Remember the old wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals?
He's a wide receiver trainer now.
He said that he had a conversation with, I think it was Brian Dable.
On his podcast, he said, yeah, I talked to somebody with the Titans about a month ago.
I think he said it was Dable.
He might not have said who it was, but I thought it was Dable and I bet it was Dable.
But I had to talk with somebody from the Titans a month ago, and I left that.
conversation feeling like
Carnel Tate's going to be the pick.
He said he even told
Carnal Tate like you're going to go to
the Titans like they're picking you number four.
Think what you want about
Cornel Tate as a player.
That was the Titans guy.
They were never taken Arvell Reese.
They were never taking Sonny Stiles.
I question whether they would have taken Jeremiah
Love. It's probably Love and then
Tate. But the Titans
were taking Carnell Tate.
It wasn't like they got to the pick
and was like, oh no, we don't, we didn't
expect Jeremiah love to be, no, the Titans knew. We want Carnal Tate. It wasn't like they were on
their heels getting pushed back, like, oh no, what do we do? No, that, the Titans plan went
exactly according to plan. They went hunting for the number one wide receiver in the draft,
and they got him in Cornell Tate. And then you go at the end of round one. Brian Dable
gets his isolation wide receiver, Brian Dable. You go to round two.
The Titans trade up back into round one.
A calculated risk and great process.
You have six picks on day three.
This is not a good draft rounds four through seven.
NIL and college football has ruined the back end of the draft.
There aren't as many underclassmen that come out in the draft
because they stay for NIL money,
which means the draft is thinner,
which means the end of the draft guys are less talented,
and they're more priority-free agent-type players
than actual draftable players.
So, of course, it is smart process to trade away some of those excess day-three picks
to improve the picks that actually matter
and go get your guys just like the Titans did with Keldrick Falk
at the end of the first round.
Think what you want about Keldrick Falk.
I have my reservations, my concerns.
but Keldrick Falk is the prototypical
2A.T. Robert Sala defensive end.
He even mentioned other defensive linemen
that are exactly like what Keldrick Falk is,
Eric Armstead and Mikel Williams.
Like he even mentioned those guys,
that is Robert Sala's type.
They hunted for the prototypical defensive end
for this defense and they got it.
They got Brian Dables,
prototypical, X wide receiver,
isolation wide receiver.
They got Robert Salas, prototypical,
defensive end, and then you go get Anthony Hill,
you jump in front of the Denver Broncos,
you attack a position of need at Mike linebacker,
you get your guy, go watch the draft call video.
Go watch it.
Not right now, keep watching the show.
But when you're done,
the Anthony Hill draft call video,
they, A, here's Mike Borganzi saying we're making you the pick,
they give it to Miss Amy,
as Amy does her.
We love you.
Congratulations.
I love you.
Thanks.
Welcome to the Titans.
Then gives it off to Coach Sala.
And he says, and then they give it to Gus Bradley,
Titans defensive coordinator.
And Gus Bradley, it felt like he was talking to his son.
He goes, amen.
And Anthony Hill's so fired up.
Hey, hey, hey, knows exactly who it is,
exactly who he's talking to.
they had to have some serious in-depth conversations, Anthony Hill and Gus Bradley
about the defense and how to call it.
Because Gus Bradley is the defensive coordinator who's going to be doing a lot of that install,
teaching the linebacker how to call the defense.
So him and Anthony Hill must have had some serious in-depth conversations about,
hey, if you're the green dot for this defense,
I'm going to be telling you these things.
Are you going to be able to do this?
They were talking like they really liked each other.
He said, Gus Bradley goes,
I told you.
I told you I'd be talking to you soon.
I told you.
And he's like, yeah, you did.
You did.
You know what I mean?
It was like,
it was like when the dogs get back and homeward bound.
It felt like two rekindled spirits that were meant to be together.
Dable gets Cornell Tate.
Robert Sala gets Keldrick Folk.
Gus Bradley gets Anthony Hill.
The Titans didn't let the draft.
have come to them. The Titans
didn't live and die by luck.
The Titans went and made their own look.
The Titans came out swinging.
My dad always taught me,
if you feel threatened,
you come out and swing.
Don't let them hit you first. A lot of people say,
oh, don't hit them unless they hit you. No,
screw that, man. I'm not taking one. If I feel threatened,
I'm going to hit you first.
Now, that rule has gotten me in some bad situations in my
but it's kept me out of enough of them
that it was worth it.
The Titans came out swinging.
They didn't wait for the draft.
They went to the draft.
They put their camo on.
They put the skull on their lip.
They cracked a few bush,
pulled out the rifle,
and took home the kill.
That's what the Titans are doing this weekend.
And they have more ammunition in the clip right now as well.
And that's what we need to talk about.
What's going to happen on day three?
The offensive line,
I am worried.
Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by Kaushi.
The NFL draft is here and every pick is a tradable moment on Kaushi.
Thinking about who could be the first pick of day three in the NFL draft,
that's something that you could potentially look at trading on.
Either way, there's going to be markets throughout the NFL draft process on Kalshi.
You're trading against your peers in a live market, meaning there's no house.
And as the probabilities change, you can buy in and out of your positions,
trade the draft pick, the game, and more on Cali.

Today's episode is also brought to you by Fanddoul
sportsbook. The NBA playoffs are here where every possession
matters. Every matchup is magnified at every game can swing a series
just like my Lakers, baby, went in and overtime to go a 3-0
over the Houston Rockets. But right now, Fandul is giving new customers
a great way to get in on the action.
here's what I like about it.
You can bet just $5 and get $250 and bonus bets
if your first bet wins.
The app makes it easy to follow the player's stats,
trends and matchups all in one place.
And during the playoffs,
that extra insight really matters
when you're looking at the stars,
role players, and key moments.
It just makes the entire playoffs more engaging
from start to finish.
Again, maybe need to go hit those NBA title odds
for the Lakers at this point.
Don't let them get Luca back, baby.
but head to fandle.com to get started, Fandle.
Play your game.
Let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Again, recapping day two of the NFL draft,
the Tennessee Titans move up and get Robert Sala's prototypical linebacker,
and it looks like Gus Bradley's the long-lost son,
the way those two love each other and connected on that phone call.
But again, the Titans are going hunting this weekend,
going out and getting their exact guys.
you can say with absolute certainty
that the Tennessee Titans got the top player
on their board at every step of the way.
They didn't get caught off guard.
They didn't caught with their pants around their ankles.
No, the Titans knew exactly what their plan was.
They went out and they executed.
So it's not like the Titans got bamboozled
like the Steelers did for Mackay Lemon or something like that.
The Titans went out and took it to them.
And I'm happy about that, regardless of how I feel
about each individual player.
But again, what are the Titans going to do next?
Day three of the NFL draft, where are the Titans going to go from here?
Well, number one, I am very much concerned.
Very much concerned about the offensive line.
The Tennessee Titans absolutely must re-sign Kevin Zeidler.
They have to.
Now, here's the other avenue that we must consider at this point.
Two words, Jackson Slater.
Jackson Slater.
Those are two words that I have not properly considered.
I mean, I thought Jackson will have a chance to compete,
but maybe just Jackson Slater.
Maybe that's the answer.
Jackson Slater is the starting right guard.
Is that the answer?
We're all worried about, are they going to get a guard?
Are they going to draft a guard?
but here's the thing.
I heard a rumor on Friday afternoon
that the Titans were trying to trade up
into the first round to get Keelon Rutledge,
who the Texans then traded up a couple of spots even further
to make sure that they got them
and the Titans couldn't trade up in front of them.
So if that's the truth, then it's not Jackson Slater.
If the Titans were trying to trade up for Keelon Rutledge,
that means that they do not trust Jackson Slater.
And they were hoping to get a starting
guard.
Because if you believe in Jackson Slater as the starting guard,
you don't trade up for Keelon Rutledge in the first round.
So that's an interesting conversation to have that we will have throughout the
all season.
But again, the offensive line is the massive worry right now.
But the good news is,
there are still some decent offensive linemen on the board.
All right.
There are still some guys.
center. My favorite center out of the bunch, Sam Hett, still on the board.
Connor Lou from Auburn, who a lot of people consider the top center,
coming off an ACL tear, but maybe Austin Shlopman can hold down the fort until
Connor Lou was ready. Parker Brailsford, I don't think that he's a fit,
but a lot of people like him. He's kind of like an Aaron Brewer type center,
very small guy, but very feisty and athletic.
Matt Goldman, Pat Coogan, Yeager Burton, James Brock.
All options at center that could compete.
Brian Parker was an offensive tackle at Duke.
I think he's going to play center at the NFL level.
Anez Cooper out of Miami,
Cam Ward's guy, the big hulking right guard.
Jeremiah Wright out of Auburn.
The Titans had conversations with Alex Harky out of Oregon,
all on the offensive line that could make sense.
I think if they went with offensive tackle,
Demetrius crown over
Travis Burke out of Memphis
the Titans had a lot of contact with him
he would be interesting as well
but things are
basically at this point in time
out of guard offensive tackle and center
I am only comfortable
saying that you could get a starter at center
and the Titans
the Titans have
pick 142 is their first pick
tomorrow.
They have 142
184,
194
or no, they have,
I keep forgetting the bills pick that they got.
They have 142, 165,
184,
194, 194, 225.
So they don't have a pick
until 142
because they gave up
144 and 69
to move up to 60.
But what the Titan
should be looking at doing is,
taking 165 and 184 and moving up to 120.
or 142, 194, 142, 242, 22, 22 25.
They need to be looking to package two of those day three picks together
to move up in the top 100, or in the fourth round,
get into the 120, 115 to 130 range,
and get one of these centers.
Or if they don't need a center,
maybe they think Jackson Slater can play center.
Then get one of the guards.
N.S. Cooper.
Billy Shroth, Jeremiah Wright,
Alex Harky, Bo Stevens.
You know, like, they have to get an interior offensive lineman.
Because even if they believe in Jackson Slater,
that's only one spot.
And there's another spot open.
So, I am working.
worried about the offensive line.
They, again, they have to bring back Kevin Zeitler.
Now, if they do what I just said,
if they do what I just said,
if they take 140, or if they take 165 and 184,
and they trade up to 120,
and they take Brian Parker,
Sam Hect, Conor Lou, Matt Goldman,
Parker Brailsford,
if they take one of those guys,
at that spot
and then they re-sign
Kevin Zitler.
Now you have Dan Moore,
Peter Skoronsky,
Brian Parker,
Kevin Zitler, J.C. Latham,
we ride.
And then we have Austin Shlopeman,
Cordell Vosson, and Jackson Slater
battle it out for the backup right guard spot,
and hopefully Jackson Slater wins and supplants.
Zitler is the starter next offseason.
but if they roll into the season with Moore Skoronsky,
Zaitler Latham back,
and then Schloteman, rookie Slater,
battling for the starting center spot,
I can be good with that.
That's not panic, in my opinion.
I could live with that.
That wouldn't be an outright disaster.
And then with Carnell Tate, Calvin Ridley,
Wondale Robinson,
Ehrlich Iomanor and Chim D.K.
His backups.
And Gunner Helm and Daniel Bellinger.
And then Tony Pollard, Tage Spears,
Cam Ward.
That's not bad.
That's not great, but that's not bad.
And then the defense,
Big Jeff, John Franklin Myers,
Femi, Germaine Johnson,
Cedric Gray, Anthony Hill,
Alante Taylor, Cordell Flop,
Marcus Harris,
Amani Hooker, Kevin Winston, we're cooking.
We're cooking.
You know what's crazy.
I do want to say this as we look forward to day three
and what's available outside offensive line.
I told you guys, I told you guys,
this is not a good running back class.
Nobody wants to take running backs.
And I believe that not a single running back
got taken on day two.
Right? Jonah Coleman, or,
Jedarian Price went 32,
Jeremiah Love went three.
Mike Washington,
Emmett Johnson,
Nick Singleton,
Demon Claiborne, Jonah Coleman,
all still on the board.
Maybe there's one missing that I'm not seeing,
but I don't think a single running back
went off the board on day two.
It's not a great running back class.
Running back is easy for people to have favorites
because the highlights are easy to watch
Oh, yeah, Kaelin Black.
Kailen Black out of Indiana.
Good call, chat.
Thank you, Chad.
Kailen Black out of Indiana.
So, but again, it still makes the point,
like Mike Washington's still on the board,
Emmett Johnson, all these running backs that were like,
oh, maybe at 66, they won't make it past 100.
Maybe the Titans go up and get one of those guys.
You look at tight end.
This is an awesome tight end class.
Justin Jolie, still on the board.
Jack Endys, Endries.
Joe Royer, Michael Trigg,
Matthew Hibner out of SMU, who I like a lot.
John Michael Jillenborg, Tano Coziel,
Dalen Bentley.
I mean, there's a lot of good tight ends
still on the board the Titans could get as well.
They could double up at wide receivers,
Skyler Bell, still on the board.
The Titans could go with a smaller wide receiver now
after getting Cornell Tate.
They could go with a Skyler Bell.
They could go with a Dionne Burks.
They could go with a Brennan.
Thompson. A lot of options. A lot of options out there for the Titans. Cornerback.
Cornerback is still a spot. I think the Titans need to go. Dermad McCoy is still on the board.
But a lot of the slot cornerback guys and Mike Borgonzi even mentioned the slot
cornerback by name at his press conference after day two. Keontay Scott, Keith Abney,
Chandler Rivers,
all guys that makes sense.
You go to safety.
Jalen Kilgore is probably more of a slot guy
than a pure safety out of South Carolina.
But Zaki Wheatley, Genesis Smith,
Camari Ramsey, VJ Payne,
Jaden Kennedy is another slot guy,
all still on the board.
So, to me, there is a lot of depth.
And if the Titans wanted a boundary corner,
Will Lee, Devin Moore,
Charles Deming, Ephesians Priceock, Ezekia Massis,
all still on the board as well.
Boundary cornerbacks, outside guys.
Malik Mohamed can do both.
I think he would be a great option for the Titans.
Heck, take Jermad McCoy, man.
Take Jermad McCoy.
His knee must be made out of shredded cabbage
for Jermad McCoy to fall out of the top 100 picks.
That is crazy to me, man.
That is absolutely crazy to me.
Maybe the Titans double-dip at edge, Joshua Joseph, still there.
George Gumbs out of Florida.
Danny Dennis Sutton, who a lot of you guys liked, still there.
I like a guy, look for him late, but I like Max Llewellyn out of Iowa.
Very interesting guy, in my opinion.
But again, a lot of ways the Titans could go here.
A lot of options still on the board, in my opinion.
A lot of talent still on the board that I would be interested in the top.
Titans bringing on. So I think they need to go hunt again. Tomorrow, go hunt.
Don't just sit back and wait for the draft to come to you at 142.
And the Titans don't need 142, 165, 184, 194, 194. The Titans don't need five more
players in this draft class. Package two of those together. Go up into the 120, 115
range, and go get another guy. And then you throw your darts and let the board come
come to you. If the Titans can get their top four players, which 435-66-101,
I expected the Titans' top four players to be real contributors right away.
If the Titans can move up now and get that fourth player in a decent range and get that
interior offensive lineman or get that starting slot cornerback,
if the Titans can do one of those two things, maybe get that running back.
If they went up and get Mike Washington, get that electric running back.
to come in, running back, defensive back, offensive line.
That's what I think the Titans need to go up tomorrow and get.
They do that, throw some darts on the board with the last three picks,
four picks.
That's a great draft, man.
They're doing a great job.
Again, each individual pick, not as high on Carnell Tate,
not as high on Caldric Falk.
I really liked Anthony Hill anyway, so I'm very excited about that.
That's my, probably my, like in my heart, how my feelings feel just as a fan.
Oh my God, they just drafted.
Blank.
Anthony Hill is the one I've been the most excited about because I really liked him as a player.
So I loved that fit.
And I thought linebacker was a good value right there.
But regardless of how I feel about each individual player and their value
and where the Titans got them and who they could be,
the philosophy and the process that the Tennessee Titans have used,
during this draft so far?
A plus.
They went hunting.
They went and got their guys
with conviction.
And that, I applaud.
That I applaud.
Tomorrow, draft's going to kick off
at noon, Eastern time.
Once the Titans start making picks,
I'll probably,
realistically, I'll probably go live
when the draft starts tomorrow
around noon time.
I got to sleep a little bit
this weekend and putting it in.
But I'll probably go live before the draft kicks off
or right as the draft is kicking off
and then I'll do short videos on every single pick
the Titans make and then I'll probably go live
once the draft is over at like 7 p.m. Eastern time
or something like that and just recap the whole day.
And then we'll be right back on Sunday night
with a recap of the entire draft in its entirety, man.
Draft weekend.
We're in the middle of it right now.
Soke it in one more day.
The Titans are going hunting, baby.
I'm proud and happy with what the guys are doing right now.
