The Tennessee Titans official 2024 schedule is now out,
and boy, is it a doozy.
The Tennessee Titans got a tough draw on a lot of their games on a lot of these weeks.
I'm going to go through the schedule week by week
and tell you whether I think the matchup and when it is is good or bad
for the Tennessee
Titans.
I'm going to give some of my overall thoughts on the schedule to start first, but before
we dive into it, do want to thank you guys for making the Locked on Titans podcast your
first listen each and every day.
Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for

Show's always free.
All I ask for in return is the press of a button.
And a lot of you guys get the show in your feed all the time,
but you're not subscribed.
So help me out and throw a subscribe on there as well.
But with that being said,
I'm going to throw up the Titan schedule here and just run down on there as well. But with that being said, going to throw up the Titan
schedule here and just run down through it real fast. Week one at the Chicago Bears. Week two,
home for the New York Jets. Week three, home for the Green Bay Packers. Week four, at the Miami
Dolphins. Week five, bye. Week six, home for the Indianapolis Colts. Week 7, at the Buffalo Bills. Week 8, at the Detroit Lions.
Week 9, home for the New England Patriots.
Week 10, at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Week 11, home for the Minnesota Vikings.
Week 12, at the Houston Texans, second division game there.
Week 13, at the Washington Commanders.
Week 14, home for Jacksonville Jaguars.
Week 15, home for the Cincinnati Bengals. Week 16, at the Indian Commanders. Week 14, home for Jacksonville Jaguars. Week 15, home for the
Cincinnati Bengals. Week 16, at the Indianapolis Colts. Week 17, at the Jacksonville Jaguars. And
then week 18, at home against the Houston Texans. My first overall thoughts are here.
The bye week. The bye week being week five. It sucks. There's no other way around it. I hate an early bye week.
And I talked about this recently when I talked about the perfect schedule
and how I would prefer the bye week to be week 13, week 12, week 11
to let the Titans rest and then have that momentum
and that rest for the stretch run of the season.
And not only do they not get that, they don't even get a mid-year bye week.
So really tough to have the bye week.
At week five, you play a month of the season, and then you got a bye?
That's tough.
That's instantly tough.
So number two, you got to point out the tough end of the season.
All right, a tough end of the season.
You finish with three straight division games at the end of the year,
two of those being on the road after playing Cincinnati.
I mean, that's a tough end of the season for the Titans.
They are going to absolutely have to earn a playoff berth if they get one
because they're not going to get anything handed to them
down the stretch of the season.
A tough mid-stretch, too.
I mean, you play a division game in Indy in week six.
You're at Buffalo.
You're at Detroit week seven and eight.
That's tough, man.
That is tough right there.
That's three.
Coming off the bye, though, it gives you a chance.
Also, got to mention it, only one primetime game.
And not only is it only one primetime game, but it's another
Monday night doubleheader. The Titans don't even have a standalone primetime game. They've been so
disrespected by the NFL. I mean, first you leave out JC Latham in your offensive tackle video
after the draft. And now the only primetime game that the Titans get is a doubleheader.
Okay?
I mean, the disrespect is just unreal.
And then you give the Titans the bye week and week five right after that.
Like, that is absolutely brutal, man.
It's just absolutely brutal.
So not only that, the one primetime game, the tough end of the schedule,
the early bye week, not only that, but a lot of these teams that I talked about,
hey, it would be nice for the Titans to play these teams early in the year,
or it would be nice for the Titans to play these teams later in the year.
A lot of those are flip-flop against the Titans.
You get the Jets early.
You get the Dolphins early.
You get the Jets early.
You get the Dolphins early.
You got to play New England, Chargers, Minnesota, Washington later in the year when they have either new head coaches or new quarterbacks.
I mean, overall, it's just a really difficult schedule,
and I think a lot of things did not break the Tennessee Titans' way.
They didn't get that Thanksgiving game that everybody thought that they were going to get that we
talked about. So like, you know,
again,
the schedule is the
schedule and our thoughts on
the schedule are all based on
what we saw these teams do last
year, right? That last year's winning
percentages, who they were, it's going to be
different. Teams change every year. I
say it every single day.
My everydayers know.
NFL stands for not for long.
Okay?
Like, things change.
Teams are different.
Worst to first.
All that.
But, again, early bye week.
Tough end of the season stretch.
One prime time game.
A lot of flip-flop early season, late season things
that didn't break the Titans' way. This is a tough schedule. And it starts
with one game that does break the mold.
Alright, one game that I think is a good schedule
for the Titans and it's week one against the Chicago Bears. You get
week one, first game ever of Caleb Williams. And yes,
the Bears have a great receiving core
with Keenan Allen and DJ Moore and Roma Dunze
and the Titans' strength as cornerback.
So, to me, that's a good matchup there.
The one thing that I do worry about is Montez Sweat.
Will J.C. Latham, will Nicholas Petit-Ferrer,
the Titans' offensive tackles,
will they be up to the task in week
one against the Chicago Bears? Let me know down
below in the comments or tag me on Twitter at
TicTacTitans. Let me know, do you think
the Titans will beat the Chicago Bears
week one? And as a reminder, I'm going
to do my first official
record prediction for the
Titans on tomorrow's show. I'm actually
going to go through tonight, look at the games
and see what I think the Titans are going to do.
Alright, but that week one matchup against Chicago, the whole world is going to be watching for Caleb Williams.
Everyone's going to be tuning in to watch Caleb Williams, and the Titans are going to be there, and I hope that they play spoiler.
So again, look, it's a road game. Montez Sweat is tough.
We're going to see that wide receiver DB matchup.
You also got to mention the revenge factor here.
There's a lot of Tennessee Titans on the Chicago Bears.
Kevin Byard, number one amongst them.
You got DeMarcus Walker, Nate Davis as well.
I think Cairo Santos is on there.
There's another one in there as well, but
that's a good
matchup in week one for the Titans to get
off to a strong start. Like, even though it's
on the road, like I said, the things that
the Bears present, the matchup
with the wide receivers and cornerbacks, I think the
Titans can get a stalemate there, win that
matchup. If they're able to block
Montez Sweat, I'm not really worried about the
pass rush of the Chicago Bears right now. I don't think
they added enough there. So, week one against the Bears, I think that is a good game for the
Titans to kind of, you know, let everybody know and set the tone early. Hey, you all tuned in to
see Caleb Williams. This is not going to be a crowning of the number one draft pick. Will Levis
is going to let you know that he's made improvements in year two, and the Titans are a much better football team.
So that's the way I see week one going.
Again, let me know down below who you think is going to win that week one matchup
between the Bears and the Titans.
But with that being said, that's only week one.
We're going to go week by week through the rest of the schedule,
talking about that early bye, talking about the midseason tough streak,
talking about that divisional ending as well. Let me know what you guys think about
the schedule down below. Before we continue though,
I do want to let you guys know that today's episode
is brought to you by GameTime. And now that the schedule is out, it's time

Titans fans, let's continue today's live edition of the Locked on Titans podcast,
breaking down the Tennessee Titans 2024 schedule.
We talked about week one against Chicago.
I gave some of my big picture thoughts on what the schedule looks like for the Titans.
Now let's continue to dive in here and go week by week.
We're going to start with week two at home against the New York Jets.
Before we do, do want to thank you guys again
for making the Locked on Titans podcast your first listen.
Each and every day, Monday through Friday,
Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free.
Make sure you get subscribed, stay subscribed.
It's your team every day.
Tomorrow, I'm going to be doing my first official record prediction
for the Tennessee Titans going week by week and telling you who I think is going to win
these games. But looking at that New York Jets game, again,
the Titans could win that game. I don't think the Titans can't
beat the Jets. But either way, that's a tough situation
to play the Jets in week two. They're a team that health is going to be
a question. They're going to be a question.
They're going to have poor coaching.
So the further you get into the season,
the more you know what they're going to do and the less counters they're going to have.
When you have Aaron Rodgers coming back off in Achilles,
you have two 33, 34-year-old offensive tackles.
Like this is a team who I think is going to be weaker
later in the season.
And the Titans have to play them early on in their home opener.
So I think that makes it a tough matchup for the Titans.
Again, they can still absolutely win that game.
I don't think it's a game where like, oh no, the Titans aren't going to win it.
But my thing is I thought the Titans maybe would get off to a slower start.
Again, I'm going to talk about this with a bunch of these teams,
new coaches, a ton of new players playing together for the first time in a new system. Like there are going to be some growing
pains early in the year. And you look at the Cincinnati teams over the last few years,
the Bengals always struggle out of the gate. And then Brian Callahan would get in the lab
and do some tinkering. And Hey, we're going to go to these style of runs. We're going to go to this.
We're going to change this way. And then Cincinnati would have a strong finish.
So you already have a ton of factors that could contribute to a slow start for the Titans.
And then you add in that they have new quarterback, new system, new players,
all that different stuff.
And you play the Jets in week two when they're probably going to be a much worse team later in the year.
So, again, that's a tough draw for the Titans
in a game that I still think they could win,
but still that's tough.
Week three against Green Bay,
I don't really care when that game is.
Green Bay is going to be a tough team to play.
Matt LaFleur is a good coach.
They have a good roster, a young roster that stays healthy.
Like, there is no time of the year. The game's in stays healthy. There is no time of the year.
The game's in Nashville, so there is no time of the year
where I think the Green Bay game is a better draw.
So to me, that's good. That's fine.
Week three at home against Green Bay.
But again, one of the tougher teams on the schedule,
and the Titans are going to have to play them early in the year
when they're trying to get their bearings and learn who they are as a team
and gel together.
So that makes it a little bit tougher.
Week four, Monday night football matchup against Miami.
It's going to be hot.
It's in Miami.
It's early in the season.
It's going to be hot, man.
And you would prefer to play Miami later in the year when it's cooler,
like the Titans did last year.
That just makes it easier on a team that's not in South Florida.
You know what I mean? But
you also have
to factor in the revenge game. Miami is
probably not happy about the way that game ended
and they are not going to be taking the Titans lightly
in this game. But I think Will Levis
might just own the Dolphins. The Titans have the
better quarterback, in my opinion.
And the Dolphins obviously
have a strong wide receiver group.
The Titans have a strong cornerback group.
I think the Titans might have the better offensive line
when everything shakes out.
Aaron Brewer's at center against Tavondre Sweat.
I'm excited to see that matchup.
So I still think that's a winnable game,
and Will Levis might just have the juice when it comes to playing in Miami.
He might just be the Miami Vice.
You know what I'm saying?
So, but again, that's a Monday night football game.
The only Monday night football game,
only primetime game that the Titans get all year,
and their bye is literally directly after that.
Man.
One primetime game,
and the bye is in week five. Like, that's brutal. And then you come out and the bye is in week 5
like that's brutal and then you come out of the bye
and look you get to go to the bye
if what I'm saying about Brian Callahan
is correct
and he's going to be really good at tinkering
after the first month of the season
to kind of correct things go in the right direction
well having that bye in week 5
gives Brian Callahan the time
to implement
and to fix and to focus down
on the things that they need to.
And then you have a critical,
a critical stretch of games in the
next stretch. Like, a critical,
critical stretch. You come out of the bye,
you're home against Indianapolis.
If the Titans want to win the division,
they have to beat Indianapolis at home in week six.
They have to.
They just absolutely have to.
Then week seven at Buffalo,
better than playing Buffalo late in the year
where it may be stormy, windy, the weather is crazy.
You're playing Buffalo in the middle of the season.
That's like a true tester for me.
If the Titans start well,
you go to Buffalo,
and we'll see how good you are.
We'll see if you're ready.
Alright, so I like the idea of having Buffalo in the middle of the season there
rather than later in the season.
I'm okay with that.
But then you go on the road again for a second straight week,
and you're at Detroit.
Detroit is a very good team.
Very good roster. That is a tough game. Detroit is a very good team. Very good roster.
That is a tough game.
That is a tough game.
Buffalo and Detroit back-to-back
after a brutal division opener against Indy in Week 6.
It's always more physical.
That's tough.
That's tough.
Week 9 against the New England Patriots,
that has to be a win.
That is a must-win game for the Titans at that point at Week 9.
Like, they have to, at home, against New England.
But again, you look at New England, I wanted to play New England early in the year
because their quarterback situation is going to be in flux.
They're a young roster with new players and new coaches.
That was a game I would have preferred to have early in the year
so the Titans can catch themselves and get their bearings.
You know what I mean?
So again, that's a tough draw.
Same thing, week 10 at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Like, look at that.
You come off the bye in week five.
Yeah, you're home in week six against Indy,
but on the road at Buffalo, on the road at Detroit,
flying all the way to Los Angeles.
Three away games in a month. That is
a tough midseason stretch, even if New England is sandwiched within there.
That is tough, and I expect the Chargers to be a better team. So going on the
road week 10 against the Chargers, that makes that game at home against New England
in week 9 even more important. Even more important.
Alright, and then you're at home against and week nine, even more important. Even more important. All right.
And then you're at home against Minnesota week 11.
And again, I was hoping that game would be early because their quarterback situation was Sam Darnold, J.J. McCarthy.
Neither of those guys may be ready early on in the year,
depending on whoever they go with.
One's a rookie, another's a brand new quarterback coming into the system.
Like, they added some new pieces.
That's just a game where I would have preferred to play Minnesota early in the year.
So I think this is just a tough draw,
and we haven't even gotten to the last six weeks of the year with a—
I mean, I have mentioned one division game.
That means in the last six weeks of the year,
the Titans have five of their division games.
Now, that's good because they're always in it.
We can keep them hype and say if they just win out in the division late in the year,
they still have a chance.
But, man, that's a lot of pressure at the end of the year
when you had your bye week in week five.
So, we're going to go over the last six weeks of the season, dive into this tough divisional finish for the Tennessee
Titans. Before we do though, I do want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you

Titans fans, let's cap off today's live edition of the Locked on Titans podcast,
breaking down the Tennessee Titans schedule going week by week.
We already went through the first 11 weeks of the season,
gave my big picture thoughts at the beginning. Now we've got to get into this final tough divisional stretch.
Before we do, thank you again for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day.
Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free.
Make sure you get subscribed.
Stay subscribed.
It's your team every day.
But the Titans get their first 11 weeks.
I think it's kind of a tough shake for the Titans.
But these last six weeks of the year, man,
just absolutely brutal for the Titans.
Number one, you start off on the road against the Houston Texans.
All right, that's going to be a tough game.
The Texans are a good team, man.
They're a good team.
So no matter whether you think the Titans will win,
the Titans will lose,
that is a tough, tough matchup for the Titans.
On the road, right around Thanksgiving, against the Texans.
Then they go on the road against Washington.
And look, to me, you look at the Titans' schedule,
Washington and New England are the easiest opponents.
Those are the teams I expect to be the worst on the schedule.
Whether that works out that way or not, we can't know for certain.
But I wanted to play Washington early in the year
because Jane Daniels, Cliff Kingsbury, Dan Quinn,
new coaches, new regime, new players, new quarterback.
But by week 13, there is no benefit.
There's no, hey, this is a young coach or new coach.
Hey, this is young quarterback.
There's none of that in week 13.
We're in week 13 of the NFL season.
All right?
They are who they are.
They know well enough now.
That benefit is gone.
So basically, one of your easiest games of the year, hypothetically,
could have been even easier and helped the team get off to a good start.
And now it's later in the year.
So another tough break for the Titans,
but a winnable game.
Back-to-back road games at Houston, at Washington.
You come home,
and you play Jacksonville in week 14,
and then follow it up with Cincy in week 15.
Again, I wanted to play Cincy earlier in the season.
All right, Joe Burrow's coming off the injury. They got
some guys, contract situations,
may not participate in training camp.
Late in the year, week 15, if Joe Burrow
is healthy, Cincinnati is going to be a really good
team. And there's going to be
a lot riding on it.
The Brian Callahan connection,
all the holdovers that the Titans have
now from Cincy's teams,
like, that's going to be a high-energy game
with a lot on the line emotionally.
So there's no letdown in that game for Cincinnati.
There's, you know, when Titans played Cincy 27-3 this year,
Burrow was clearly compromised.
And again, Cincy always starts a little slow.
So playing them early on would have been better, in my opinion.
Excuse me. After that,
you're on the road in week 16 against Indy. A divisional battle.
And then week 17 on the road against Jacksonville.
So out of your three final weeks of the year, back to
back divisional road games
after playing Cincinnati.
That is a tough stretch.
No matter what these teams do,
we know that these division games are going to be tight.
They always are.
Even when the Titans were real good and the Texans were terrible,
they played them tight.
Division games are always tight, especially the second game,
because you know each other so well and with it being later
in the year, you're going to know exactly what
teams are doing. So having to go week
16 against Indy
at Indy and week 17 at
Jacksonville,
that is tough. That is tough.
That's a tough stretch. And then
week 18, you're home against Houston.
Let me say this though. Let me say this, though.
Let me say this.
Having the opportunity to win the division, maybe,
in week 18, at home, against the Texans, in the Oiler uniforms,
that is a tough game, but that's an incredible opportunity.
Like, that is how magic happens.
Houston has been hyped up all season.
If the Titans and the Texans are close at the end of the year,
at home, would rather play at home Week 18 than on the road,
wearing the Oiler uniforms,
hey, that could be absolutely magical. Imagine Will Levis in the Oiler uniforms, hey, that could be absolutely magical.
Imagine Will Levis in the Oiler blues
knocking off the Houston Texans
to win the AFC South in Week 18 in Nashville.
So, I know that it's a tough stretch to the season.
I've said it, but man, that is an incredible,
incredible opportunity
right there. If the Titans can get themselves in position, that would be absolutely awesome.
But with that being said, that is the schedule. Again, I'm going to be back tomorrow to do my
first official record prediction for the Tennessee Titans going week by week and saying whether I
think the Titans are going to win this game, lose this game, what I think is going to happen.
Make sure that you don't miss that.
But that is going to do it for me today, folks.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
So
