Throw a thumbs up on this video. The show's always free. All I ask for in return
is the press of a button. But the Tennessee Titans won, baby. And not only that,
but they beat the Cincinnati Bengals.
All right. For the Tennessee Titans to be sitting at one and two
after an embarrassing, one of the most embarrassing losses in Mike
Vrabel's tenure as coach in week three.
And to come into this game and not only win in the way that they did,
but do it against the Bengals.
Bye-bye Joe Burrow.
All right?
That is over.
That is over.
The Titans hadn't beat Joe Burrow in his entire career
coming into this game.
To do this, to not only to do this, but do it against Burrow.
This is huge.
Bye Cincinnati.
You don't own Nashville.
This isn't Burrow's house.
That was absolutely crucial.
And again, we got to talk about Derrick Henry.
Derrick Henry moved into second place at all-time rushing yards in Tennessee Titans history in this game, passing
Earl Campbell. Only Eddie George has left, and Mike Vrabel was even joking after the game
letting Eddie George. Henry's coming for it.
All right. Derrick Henry in this game.
22 carries. 22. For 122
yards. 5.5 yards per carry.
By far the most efficient day that Henry's had in quite some time.
Had a rushing touchdown. The 29-yarder.
Vintage Derrick Henry. Breaks through an arm tackle. Stiff arms.
A linebacker. Not a defensive back. A linebacker.
And takes it in down the sideline.
I mean, vintage, vintage, vintage Derrick Henry.
And not only that, and he can pass.
We got King Cat, Derrick Henry jump throw,
and man, there are some pictures of that jump throw
that are just absolutely gorgeous.
Look for my thumbnail on my full 30-minute recap later on. I'm going to have
one. I've got another good one on the thumbnail for this live postcast as
well. Crowning the king in the end zone.
Henry also caught one pass for 11 yards. I thought he just answered
the bell nonstop at all points and times throughout the day.
I had the 29-yard touchdown again, but had a lot of good runs that were
situations where he was just breaking through tackles,
making people miss again.
It was a vintage Derrick Henry performance,
one that is deserving of him going into second place all time
in rushing yards for the Tennessee Titans.
It's the return of the king.
It was Derrick Henry's best game in quite some time.
He really led the team, but it wasn't just about Henry.
The play-action passing of the Tennessee Titans in this game,
my lanta, was Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill's day
incredibly, incredibly efficient.
I mean, Tannehill averaged 9.6 yards per attempt,
even while getting sacked three times. Tannehill was under some pressure. His pocket navigation
is still not great, but in this game, it was excellent. It was excellent. He really bought
time, got out of the pocket, moved around, found ways to get guys the ball.
He went 18 for 25, 240 yards, did have the interception that was more like a punt at the end, but had the touchdown throw.
I mean, this was just classic, fantastic, explosive play action.
Derrick Henry hammer football.
And I mean, Tajay Spears five carries for 40 yards.
He was explosive.
Spears had three catches for 18.
So this is when we all dreamt about an improved Tennessee Titans offense
in the offseason.
I don't care who you are.
In the offseason, there was optimism
that the Tennessee Titans offense could get back on track.
I almost lost all hope in that after what we saw last week.
So for them to bounce back this week and do this and show it,
just an incredible, incredible performance from the Tennessee Titans offense,
led, of course, by King Henry, Ryan Tannehill, the play-action pass game.
It was just great. It was great to watch.
I mean, I don't know how you could be happier with what just happened.
To do all that against the Bengals,
it just doesn't get much better than that, Titans fans.
It surely doesn't.
But with that being said, we got to talk about the defense as well
because the defense had pressure on Joe Burrow all day
that we're playing that tight man coverage,
bringing five people in the blitz,
just like we talked about in our Friday game plan episode.
So hope my everydayers out there enjoyed kind of seeing a glimpse of what the Titans were
doing from the game plan.
But we're going to talk about that in just a moment.

the NFL season right. FanDuel,
official partner of the NFL. Titans fans, the Tennessee Titans destroy the Cincinnati Bengals 27-3,
an utterly dominant performance by the Tennessee Titans,
again, led by Derrick Henry.
An incredible performance.
Over 130 total yards.
Two total touchdowns.
He can catch. He can run. He can throw.
It was a time machine game for me personally,
seeing the play-action pass game being explosive,
seeing Derrick Henry be explosive.
I mean, it felt like the best Tennessee Titans offense I had seen
since A.J. Brown was traded.
That's what it felt like.
So a great thing to see from the Titans there.
But on the defensive side of the ball,
the Titans held Joe Burrow to 165 passing yards, 5.5 yards per attempt.
Again, we just talked about Tannehill, 9.6 yards per attempt.
Joe Burrow, 5.5 yards per attempt. That's terrible.
Sacked Burrow three times for negative 26 yards.
And the Bengals ran for four yards per carry.
Didn't matter. The Titans got out early, and they got on them.
Jamar Chase had a good game with his 73 yards on seven catches,
but it wasn't a great game.
Nobody had a great game against the Titans.
The Titans' defense held the Bengals without a third-down conversion
until like the middle of the fourth quarter,
completely smothered the Bengals.
We saw the strip
sack from
Travis Gibson. Welcome to the
party. I mean, Aziz
Alshire was everywhere.
Everywhere in this game.
And of course, the guys up front,
Jeffrey Simmons had the sack,
had a tackle for loss, pressure
all day long, really making it tough
on the Bengals offensive line. I mean, this is what the Tennessee Titans
defense is supposed to be. This is what they're supposed to be.
The offense is explosive.
I mean, the Titans scored 21 points in the
second quarter. And the defense was just giving the ball back. Giving the ball back.
Giving the ball back to him. Constantly.
Absolutely fantastic stuff from the Titans. Burrow lost the
fumble. Travis Gibson again, making a good play.
Arden Key made plays. I don't know what else to say. This is
what the Tennessee Titans defense was supposed to be about. And I think
one big thing to mention here for the Titans defense is when the Titans
offense helps them out a little bit, gives them a little bit of help,
gets them off the field, lets them rest,
this is what the Titans defense can do. So
this reminds me of the Green Bay game last year. It's what it reminds
me of. The Green Bay game last year. It's what it reminds me of. The Green Bay game last year.
The Titans cannot stop now.
They have a very, very, very important game
against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
A very important game, okay?
So the Titans have to continue
what they did on offense here.
This can't be a blip.
This has to be something that we see more consistently.
Okay?
It has to be.
It just has to be for the Titans.
It's what they got to do.
But with that being said,
that's going to do it for my postcast here.
Also, let me just say this.
Last thing.
Those of you who follow me on Twitter,
at TicTacTitans, know.
My reverse jinx powers
are truly undeniable.
Undeniable.
So, you're all welcome
for me just feeling so confident
that the Titans would lose this game.
Because of that,
because of that and that alone,
of course, that alone,
is why the Titans won in the way they did.
My ability to reverse jinx this team to greatness
is unmatched by any Titans content creator there is. It's
unmatched. So, you're all welcome.
I appreciate it. Remember, tonight,
last
few weeks, I've been posting around 8 p.m. Eastern time,
but I'm going to have a full 30-minute recap of this game, of this win.
Tighten up and tighten down.
Let me know your tighten up and tighten downs down in the chat right now to get ready,
but I'll see you all later on tonight as I give my full 30-minute recap of this game.
Offense, defense, tighten up, tighten down. Can't wait to
talk about it all. Going forward,
Tic Tac Tuesday, where we break down
the film. What's next? Wednesday,
where we take a look at the matchup ahead against
the Colts. Crossover Thursday
for some information behind enemy lines.
And then Game Plan Friday, we'll be right back. So make
sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed
to the Locked on Titans podcast, where it's your
team every day. That's going to
do it for me though.
I love a victory postcast.
A lot better. A lot better
than what we had last week. So
tighten up down in the chat. That's going to do it.
Take care, everybody.
