Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - TENNESSEE TITANS DOWN TO JEREMIYAH LOVE, DAVID BAILEY OR TRADE BACK IN ROUND ONE OF NFL DRAFT
Episode Date: April 19, 2026The Tennessee Titans have entered draft week and after all of the weekend news it appears their choices will be down to Jeremiyah Love, David Bailey or a potential trade back. A trade back would be th...e best outcome, but is also probably the lowest likely outcoming leaving Love and Bailey as the choices, with Love even more likely than Bailey. If Love is the pick at four, that means the Titans three biggest needs, Edge, Wide Receiver and Interior Offensive Line, will have to be the next targets and there will be some good options available, all depending on where the rest of the first round goes. Finally, the Titans picked up the fifth-year option of Peter Skoronski in a less-than-shocking move. The expectations should be that Skoronski gets over $20 million per season at some point this offseason. Everything that's happened over the weekend has made it clear that the Tennessee Titans
choice at number four is between Jeremiah Love or David Bailey.
And I'm going to break down everything you need to know as we head into NFL draft week on
today's edition of Locked on Titans.
You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked on
podcast network, your team every day.
Welcome to the Locked on Titans.
podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans on today's show.
We're going to break down all the big news from over the weekend that impacts the Tennessee Titans.
I'll tell you why it has me believing the Titans are between David Bailey and Jeremiah Love at number four.
Also, we'll talk about how the depth in this draft could shake out by the time the Titans pick in the second round.
And Peter Skorowski is going to have a fifth year option picked up by the Titans.
No surprise there.
sets up a big time extension that should get done this all season.
Before we dive into all of it, do want to thank you for making the locked on Titans,
your first listen each and every day.
Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round,

It is draft week, folks.
So make sure that you stay locked in.
with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world,
locked on Titans.
But with that being said, again,
big time last couple of days for NFL draft news.
We got the odds shifting.
We got the Dexter Lawrence trade.
We're hearing scuttlebutt and rumors about who wants to move up,
who wants to move back, this and that.
And all of it, I think, sets up for the Tennessee Titans
to where they're going to have the choice
between David Bailey or Jeremiah Love,
or it's going to end up being one of those players.
It's not their choice per se.
But that is the true options that they're going to have on the board that are realistic.
Now, of course, a trade down could always be a possibility.
And I think that it's much more likely to be a trade down if it's David Bailey,
who is there for the Titans at number four.
But let's go over what we know right now.
So, for most of draft season, it was Arval Reese to the Jets at number two.
It was a foregone conclusion.
That's what most people expected.
He was the highest upside prospect.
That's what most people thought was going to happen.
And then all of a sudden, a couple of weeks ago, like two weeks ago,
all of the big national insiders that cover the draft,
Jeremiah, McShay, Schrager, all of them started saying,
David Bailey to the New York Jets at number two.
Now, why would they do that?
Well, the number one thing that came to mind for me is
the NFL wants to spice up this draft.
This is not a very hype draft for your casual football fan.
A lot of prospects with questions.
There aren't a lot of blue chip prospects.
A lot of the best prospects are at boring positions per se.
So the NFL could have conceivably
went to some of the big national voices and said,
might be David Bailey at number two.
Now, were the media types complicit in this scheme
to hype up the draft and create drama and create intrigue.
Did they know that they were being used as pawns?
I don't know.
Maybe they were in on it.
Maybe they weren't.
But either way, I think that it was a complete bamboozling.
And now, Arvel Reese is back to being a guy that everybody says is going number two.
McShea said, I'm going to sleep tonight thinking that Rvel Reese is going to be the second
pick, literally a couple of weeks after saying that he thought that David Bailey was the pick.
But what that tells me is, it was Arvel
always at number two.
And then the New York Jets
cancel their visit with David Bailey
and I'm sorry,
but if David Bailey were a clean prospect,
you could sell me that they just didn't need to
and they already did all their research,
but to take David Bailey at number two by the Jets
when he stomped on a dude's face in college
and when he pushed a photographer after a game
and all this.
Like, you cannot tell me that David Bailey is a clean enough prospect
for the Jets to just not have him in on a visit
and take him number two.
So I firmly believe that R. Val R. Val Rees is going to be number two.
And that means that either David Bailey or Jeremiah Love is going to go at number three.
I think it's going to be David Bailey.
And I'll tell you the honest truth.
I think Kansas City is going to trade up and get David Bailey at number three.
That's what I am going to predict is happening in my mock draft unless the pick gets traded before then.
But I think that David Bailey is going to go number three,
whether it's to the Arizona Cardinals
or whether that's to a team trading up.
Now, if the Arizona Cardinals do not trade,
if the Arizona Cardinals do not pick David Bailey,
they will pick Jeremiah Love.
That's the only options here.
So we go Fernando Mendoza, Arvel Reese,
and then it's Bailey, Love, or Tradeback.
And if it's Trade Back, it's Bailey.
So it's Bailey or Love.
And then for the Titans, again, where I am at right.
And Jeremy Fowler from ESPN has been talking about the chiefs could be interested.
There are some people around the NFL that think that the cowboys could be interested in moving up.
I think both of those teams could be interested in moving up for David Bailey and moving to three.
So if it goes, Fernando Mendoza, our Velry,
Reese, boom, we locked that in place.
Then
David Bailey to the Cardinals.
Then the Titans either
get a trade down or take Jeremiah Love.
It's that simple. It's that simple.
And then the other path to go is, Mendoza,
Reese, locked in.
The Cardinals, stick and pick
and surprise everyone
and take Jeremiah Love.
and then the Titans either can trade down
because someone wants to come up and get David Bailey
or they just take David Bailey themselves
which is I think what would happen.
I think David Bailey, I've said this throughout the process
since January, I think David Bailey
is the Titans number one prospect in the draft.
I think if David Bailey falls to number four
the Titans would run there.
And quite honestly, when I am making my order
I would go Bailey and love.
that's what I would go with.
Bailey and love.
Now, my full order would be trade down.
Bailey, love.
What I think is most likely
is love Bailey trade down.
So my preference
is the opposite
of what I think is most likely
for the Tennessee title.
So if R. Val R.Vorice is in fact
to picket to,
if Kansas City is interested in moving up for Bailey at 3,
I think we're looking at, again, only a couple of options.
The Titans trade down, or they get Jeremiah Love or David Bailey.
That's it.
And maybe, maybe throughout all of the roller coaster hills and madness
of the NFL draft situation in the season,
we considered Sonny Stiles, Carnell Tate,
could Arvall Reese fall a four?
a lot of things to consider.
But at the end of the day,
as we step into NFL draft week,
the draft is finally here.
It is clear that if the Titans do pick
at number four and don't trade out,
they're going to get Jeremiah Love or David Bailey.
One of those two players
will be a Tennessee Titan
come Thursday night,
come Friday morning, we should say.
I firmly believe that.
I stamp that.
Again, give me Bailey, but I'll be happy with love.
You guys do the waffles and pancakes thing to me all the time.
I mean, literally all the time.
I would prefer David Bain.
You hate Jeremiah Love.
You think Jeremiah loves.
You didn't want Jeremiah Love.
You're mad.
I would be fine with Jeremiah Love.
I want a strawberry milkshake.
But if you say that they didn't have it and you bring me a vanilla,
I'm not going to be mad.
You understand how that works?
people understand how that works?
Like, what I would prefer is not the only happy outcome.
And quite honestly, people acting like there's only one good outcome in this draft
has been the most annoying thing for me personally during this draft season.
The Jeremiah Love or Bust or people who are edge or bust,
or people who are styles or downs or just being like,
there's only one player that will make me happy and every other outcome sucks.
the Titans are going to blow it, they're going to be a boss,
the player's going to suck if they don't pick the guy I want.
There are so many different outcomes for this to work for the Titans
that I think that's just a silly way to be.
But at the end of the day, again,
it's love or Bailey if they don't trade down.
That's where we're at, that's where we're going to be,
and that's where we're going to stay.
And one of those two players is going to be on the Tennessee Titans,
barring a trade down.
I firmly believe it.
So with that being said,
if it is one of those two players,
what happens with the Titans next pick on the board?
And whether it's edge, whether it's O-line,
whether it's wide receiver,
there are three buckets worth of players,
and it'll be interesting to see how many of each bucket
actually get to pick number 35,
and I'll give you my rankings right now.
But let me know down below,
hit me up on social media,
who do you want between David Bailey and Jeremiah Love?
I have a feeling I know what most of you guys are going to say.
But those are your realistic options as of right now.
But again, pick number 35, probably where the real drama and the real intrigue starts for the Tennessee
Titans.
Matt Derry here from the Lockdown Lions podcast.
You know, life insurance is one of those things.
You don't really think about until you have a reason to.
For me, it really hit home when my father passed away over 20 years ago.
You start thinking less about yourself and more about the people who depend on you, making
sure they're taking care of no matter what. That's why I like ethos. They make getting life insurance

Fans, let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Again, we talked about David Bailey, Jeremiah Love, trade down.
Those are the only real options for the Tennessee Titans as we head into NFL draft week.
But what are their Titans going to do after the first round?
That's really what's most fascinating to me.
Now, before we dive into, I want to thank you again for making Locked on Titans,
your first listen each and every day.
Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round,
always for free.
Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed.
It's your team every day.
With that being said, though,
let's assume that the Tennessee Titans get Jeremiah love because I very much do believe
that David Bailey is going to be the pick at number three,
whether it's the Cardinals, whether someone trades in, doesn't matter to me.
I think it's much more realistic
that Jeremiah Love is the pick
and that's what I would mock to the Titans right now
if I made my mock.
Remember, I put out my personal first round mock draft
that I put out every year.
I'll have a bonus episode on Thursday morning
to break that down with you guys.
But either way, Jeremiah Love is going to be my pick
for the Tennessee Titans unless we hear more rumors news
that makes me feel different.
So if Love is the pick,
running back is not a need for the Tennessee Titans.
There's no way around it.
Running back is not a need.
So if the Titans do take Jeremiah Love in the first round,
then they immediately need to come back in the second round and hit a need.
Like, they have to.
And I would say the three biggest needs,
and if you don't say that these are the three biggest needs,
I question your judgment and, you know, whatever.
But it's edge, wide receiver, and interior offensive line.
The Titans need a starting speed rusher,
and they need a long-term alpha edge anyway that they need to hope for.
They obviously need more talent at wide receiver.
I'm not breaking any news right there.
They need long-term wide receiver option.
And they need interior offensive line.
They have two spots that I don't think they have starters at.
Right guard and center.
So to me, those are the three biggest needs.
Now, after that, I would tell you linebacker is the next biggest need.
And then after that, I would tell you that cornerback is the biggest team.
And then after that, I would probably say safety, offensive tackle, tight end.
Then we could get to running back.
But regardless, you look at the depth that each of those positions,
and the Titans could be in a pretty good spot at number 35.
So, offensive line as a whole, wide receiver and edge,
two of those positions are going to get hit hard.
in the first round.
In the NFL draft every year there are runs
where a couple of guys at a certain spot
start to go off the board
and teams who are interested in those positions
say, we got to get our guy now.
We got to go get our guy right now.
So they take them.
Like remember when Rancourt Thon
was talking about the interior defensive line run
that was happening at the beginning of the second round
when he was justifying his pick of Tavondre sweat?
That's a run.
So two of these positions, I firmly do believe, will get hit hard before you get to the second round, leaving one position where there's going to be a lot of value.
So no matter what, the Titans are in a good spot.
But at edge.
And if the Titans go with Jeremiah Love in the first round, I am going to be crying and screaming for an edge.
T.J. Parker.
Keldrick Falk
Zion Young
Akeem Messador
Malachi Lawrence
Cassius How
Gabe Jackus
who a lot of you guys may not
think of as an early
second round late first round talent
but I've heard some buzz that he is
physical edge rusher out of Illinois
okay
so that's
seven
eight
seven decent edge rushers.
I think could all go mid-first round.
Well, not all of them mid-first round,
but like, you could see Keldrick Falk,
Zion Young, T.J. Parker go as high as 15.
You'll put Malachi Lawrence in there.
He could go as high as 15.
Or, I would not be shocked
to see Zion Young, Malachi Lawrence,
T.J. Parker,
available at 35.
If the edge rushers,
slipped a little bit because wide receiver and offensive line popped off.
Sure. Now, Cassius Howe, Gabe Jackus,
I think there's a good chance that they're there at 35,
and maybe the Titans would like them at 35.
Maybe so.
I do not like a keen mess store.
We'll talk about that in a second.
But then you look at wide receiver.
Casey Concepcion,
Omar Cooper,
Denzo Boston,
Chris Bell,
Chris Brasel,
Jeremy Bernard, the Zachariah Branch arrest thing, doesn't really change my mind.
Read up on that situation.
Y'all know exactly what happened there.
I won't get into it, but just, it's nothing serious.
I'm not looking at Zachariah Branch any differently than I was last week.
When I told you, I don't think he's a fit for the Titans because he's a slot guy
and they just paid Wondell Robinson and they have Jim D.K. who can do slot stuff.
Calvin Ridley might be more of a slot guy so he gets older.
So I don't think Zachariah Branch
is an option for the Titans, let alone at 35.
But again, there are six wide receivers
that could be available at 35
that all could make sense.
Now, Concepcion, Cooper, and Boston are in a different tier for me
than Bell, Brazel, or Bernard, but maybe not for the Titans.
You know, we don't know how they feel, so that wide receivers
could be there at 35.
And then the offensive line, which is where it seems like
most of you want the Titans to go.
whether they take love or they take Bailey,
seems like most of you guys want
interior offensive line on day two,
or round two.
And that makes sense.
I'm not against that.
But Chase DeSantis,
Keelon Rutledge,
Emmanuel Pregnard,
will Maxi Honachore?
The offensive tackle out of Arizona State
be there.
Will Blake Miller from Clemson
be there?
Will Caleb Lumber?
from Utah be there.
Those are all questions
that we have to ask ourselves.
So again, my point generally is
if offensive line gets hit hard,
let's say two of those guards go,
all the tackles go,
Emmanuel Pregnon is the only guard that's left at 35.
Let's say the wide receivers get hit
and Concepcion, Cooper, Boston, all off the board.
And then how many of the edge rushers
could conceivably get hit?
at that point. Parker, Young, Falk, Messador, Malachi Lawrence would be available,
or Parker would be available, or, you know, if they want to go down, Howell, we'll be available.
So, to me, I think out of this group, the one I would be most excited about would be Casey Concepcion.
If they could get Concepcion, Cooper, or Boston, that's my top three.
That's my top three right there, out of this group.
Concepcion, Cooper, Boston, in that order.
From there, I would probably say, T.J. Parker, Malachi Lawrence.
That's my top five.
Concepcion, Cooper, Boston, Lawrence Parker,
out of this group.
Then I would say, Blake Miller, Caleb Luma, the tackle.
I am not going to be shocked
that the Titans get a tackle at 35.
Dan Moore is not good.
He's on a big contract.
Latham's been up and down.
Offensive tackle could be a screaming need
by this time next year.
Imagine if Latham struggles this year
and the conversation is, oh, he's got to go into guard.
Imagine if Dan Moore struggles again
and the Titans cut him,
offensive tackle is going to be a screaming need
by this time next year.
Do you want that to be the same?
case. Get ahead of it early. Don't wait for your breaks to go out before you fix them.
Get them done when they start feeling touching. Be ahead of your problems. Proactive.
Not reactive. So, I think the tackles would be next on my list.
But then for me, I would go with Rutledge, pregnone, Bessantis.
and then after that
I would come back to
Zion Young
Keldrick Folk
Cassius Howe
and then I would go
Bell Brazzled Bernard
and then Game Jackus
and then finish
with Akeem Messador
who I think Messador is an
okay prospect
but the injuries he's 25 years old
he's an inside outside rusher
I just don't think he fits what the Tennessee Titans need
in multiple different ways.
So that would be my ranking.
Again, Concepcion Cooper, Boston,
Lawrence Parker,
Miller Lumu, Ihanichor,
Rutledge, Pregnon, Besantus,
Bell, Brasel Bernard,
and then Zion Young, Folk,
Hal, Jackus, Messador.
But out of that group,
I mean, we went over 20 names right there.
There's no way that all of those guys are going.
Like, it's not going to happen.
So I think the Titans, no matter what they do at number one,
whether it's David Bailey, whether it's Jeremiah Love,
the Titans are going to be in a good position at pick number 35 in the second round
to get a player at one of their big critical positions of need.
And quite honestly, that makes it more likely
that the Titans would take Jeremiah Love is they can hit all three of their big needs,
you know, one of them are going to have good options in round two.
But with that being said, two big Titans news stories, in my opinion.
One, Peter Skoronski, fifth year option, and then hearing some news,
running backs, veteran running backs, could be traded during the draft,
and that is great news for the Tennessee Titans.

Fans, let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Again, going over all of the weekend news.
Now we get to Peter Skoronsky, Tony Pollard,
after talking first round, second round in the draft.
It is draft week, folks.

But with that being said,
Peter Skoransky, fifth year option
going to be picked up by the Tennessee Titans.
That is probably the least shocking news
of the entire all season.
That's going to give him 17.
million dollars for 2027, not 2026.
So Pete is on the fourth year of his rookie deal.
The Titans will pick up the fifth year option.
So it's not this upcoming season, but next season after that,
that Peter Skoronsky would be playing for $17 million.
But let's say this.
They're going to get an extension done with Peter Skoransky this offseason before the season begins.
Now, that's not going to hurt the Tennessee Titan salary cap
because he's going to play on the final year of his rookie deal,
but the extension that they get done this summer
is going to kick in instead of the fifth year option.
So the Titans take the fifth year option
that shows Peter Skoronsky and his agent,
we want you around, we think you're worth $17 million.
You're going to be here in year five.
No worries there. That's secure it.
And now it's about hammering out that extension.
before the season kicks off.
And when you look at other interior offensive lineman,
Tyler Linderbaum just got $27 million per year.
He's a center.
Tyler Smith, for the Cowboys,
got $24 million a year.
Trey Smith, for the Kansas City Chiefs,
got $23.5 million dollars per year.
I think that's where Peter Skoronsky's going to be.
He's going to make $22 to $24 million per year.
That's the going rate for a top five guard in the NFL.
quite honestly, as I
said during free agency this year,
as I will keep saying until
it changes, the Titans don't
have anybody that they need to pay.
So they don't have to worry about
their budget. They don't have to say,
hey, we can't,
you know, we can't buy
five pounds of steak.
We need to
get bread and milk
and eggs and produce
and we need toiletries.
We don't have the budget for that. No, they do.
who's there to pay.
Maybe they give an extension to Jermaine Johnson.
After the season, during the season,
they'll probably get an extension done with Jeffrey Simmons
to make him the highest paid interior defensive linemen in the NFL
this offseason, sure.
But who they have to pay next off season that's already on the team?
Nobody. Pete, if they don't get it done this year.
Who do they have to pay in two years?
There's just not a lot of guys
that are going to be getting a second
contract anytime soon.
So there's no reason to
not pay Peter Skoronsky
a high rate for a guard.
You took him in the top 11,
pay him. He's a good player. It worked out.
Titans need help on the offensive line,
not to get worse, like they did this all season.
So I think Pete's going to get $22 to $24 million per year.
That's about 23 is what I would expect.
Now, also saw Daniel Jeremiah
tweet out
that because there is a bad running back class
and because
running backs kind of went out of value
this off season,
Daniel Jeremiah thinks that there could be
some veteran running backs traded during the draft.
And if the Titans take Jeremiah Love,
trade Tony Pollard immediate.
What, like, or Taj.
I guess maybe Taji.
Stier Spears on a rookie contract with a little bit of juice.
Titans fans hate Tadj Spears more than they should, in my opinion.
Not everybody, but there are people who are down on Taji Spears.
Look, he's not a number one lead running back by any means.
He's not a superstar.
He's not Devon A. Chan or anything like that.
But he's a good change of pace back who forced more mistackles last year than Bijon Robinson.
That's going to be intriguing.
so the Titans may get a better pick for Tage Spears
than they would get for Tony Pollard.
But Tony Pollard, 1,000 yard back, good player.
I think Tony Pollard is the guy to trade.
You trade Tony Pollard for a fifth round pick.
Trade Will Levis for a sixth round pick, maybe.
I would hold Will Levis and see if you can get a better deal at this point.
I mean, if somebody gives you a fifth round pick for Will Levis,
you deal, send it to the league office.
But if people are only offering six, seventh round picks,
I would bring them into training camp, let him play in the preseason
and try to wait until injuries and bad performance
and all that stuff hit to get more out of Will Levis.
And teams are going to be more willing to do like a sixth round conditional
that turns into a fifth with a 2027 pick
because you can't really do that with a 2026 pick, right?
So if the Titans are like, hey, well, what if he starts games for you this year?
Well, I'm not giving you my fifth round pick right now this weekend.
I'll give you my sixth round pick.
Well, would you give me your fifth round pick next year?
Yeah, but only if he does start those games.
So I think the Titans are more likely to get one of those conditional picks
if they take a next year pick, but I would still do that.
So with Pollard and Levis,
be very interesting to see if one of those guys gets traded
during the NFL draft.
But again, bad running back class helps the Titans get something for Tony Pollard.
Got a new background.
If you don't watch on YouTube, then you probably don't care.
If you are watching on YouTube, see the new background,
worked really hard on it for draft week.
Let me know how you guys feel about it down below.
Very curious to see your feedback.
But that's going to do it for me today, folks.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowan,
and this was Locked on Titans.
