With the Tennessee Titans schedule about to drop, now is the perfect time to look at how a perfect slate would unfold. First, the Titans don't want to be playing their most difficult opponents too early in the season. As a team with a lot of new, coming off some struggling years, matchups against the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets early would be helpful to get some momentum. Also, having a second before playing too many divisional games would also be ideal. Saving some until after a late-seasons bye week gives the Titans the best shot to be competitive. I want the Tennessee Titans to have a chance to start fast, but also be challenged late. And I'll show you what it would look like as I build my perfect schedule on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked On Podcast Network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowan Titans fans on today's show. I am going to build the perfect Tennessee Titans schedule. I'm going to get it as ideal as we possibly can. That's going to include a challenging finish

where the Tennessee Titans can really test who they are. It's going to include a late by week, which I think is absolutely critical, but most importantly, it's going to include the possibility of a fast start for the Titans which I think is absolutely imperative. Again, this team, after all the changes that got made, with the terrible seasons that the Tennessee Titans have had

over the last two years, three wins apiece, I think it's absolutely critical that they get off to a fast start. The Titans have a lot of young players as well. Again, new coaches, new systems, and there needs to be some proof of concept early. If the Titans can get off to a fast start, it's going to validate everything that the coaching staff has changed. It's going to validate all of their feelings about the level of talent on the roster,

how much better the team is. All of the players, think about a guy like Jeffrey Simmons. If the Titans come out and have a tough start to the season, and they go two and four, Jeff is going to be saying, here we go again. Is this going to turn? The young players could be, man, we just can't. not win around here.

New coaches, change, all that. Now, is that right? No, the Titans, if they stay the course, believe in the coaching, believe in their talent, and keep going, they could turn things around, but it's going to be more difficult. If they just don't have a

good start to feel good about the direction, they don't need to win all of their games, but start two and two, three and three, maybe a winning record in the first couple of weeks, like that kind of to start, even if the Titans play a more difficult schedule later in the year, they can withstand it with the belief that they gain from starting fast early.

So when I make the ideal Titan schedule, as I've said before, I think that starts with the Cleveland Browns. At home, week one, against the Browns, I know Miles Garrett is a problem. I get that. But the Titans held Miles Garrett to one sack last year. he didn't prevent them from winning last year because he's so good. I'm not saying he's not good enough to wreck the game and win it for Cleveland, but I'll take my chances.

Cleveland, week one. I'm going to keep it fair. Week two, the Titans go on the road, Las Vegas Raiders. I want to play the Raiders early because I want to play Kirk Cousins, not Fernando Mendoza. I think Fernando Mendoza is a better player, and the Raiders should just play him anyway. But if they're truly committed to having Kurt Cousins start the beginning of the year,

that's not going to be over after one week. So let's go to Vegas. Week two, take the longest trip that the Titans have to take. Let's get it out of the way early. Cleveland, then we go to Vegas, and then we come back home in week three for the New York Jets. Robert Sala's revenge. And tell me,

If the Titans' first three games are home for the Browns, at the Raiders, home for the Jets, tell me the Titans can't go 3-0 there. They 100% can go 3-0. And I think after they whoop up on Cleveland, week one at home, they'll end up being favored against the Raiders on the road. The Titans would be favored to win all three of those games. So don't tell me it would be crazy for them to come out

to start 3 and 0. That's a perfect three weeks start for the Titans. Browns, Raiders, Jets. Let's do it. That's how you get off to a fast start. That's how you build confidence. That's how you gain trust in the coaching staff right there. And now the Titans are set up to beat anybody. Week four, again, I wanted this game early at the New York Giants.

And I don't think it will be. again, but Monday night football, week four. The Titans would be Monday night football later in the year. It would never happen that early. But I'm just saying it would be fun. All right, but either way, week four at the Giants, Titans can win that game. I think if it goes Cleveland Raiders, Jets, Giants,

the Titans that go 3 and 1, 4 and 0. 3 and 1 at minimum. Maybe they drop one to the Raiders. Maybe Gino Smith has a good start with a good, roster for the Jets and better roster, I will say not good, but better roster for the Jets, maybe. But 3 and 1 in the first month of the season, Cleveland Raiders, Jets, Giants, that's 100% doable and that is the fast start that I think the Tennessee Titans desperately need. And now it's time to play division games. Now it's time. Now we really test our, the Titans are

3 and 1, 2 and 2 at minimum, 4 and 0 going into week 5 at home against 5. the Indianapolis Colts. I want to play the Colts early. Because either Danny Dimes is going to miss a little time early. He's going to be a little more uncomfortable coming back from those injuries. He's going to have just came back from those injuries in week five.

Whatever it happens to be out of those possibilities, I want Indianapolis early. And I want to set the tone in the division at home in week five early. This is a new Titans team. Now we're three and two, four and four, Cleveland, Raiders, Jets, Giants, home game against the Colts. That could smell like five and up.

It wouldn't be nuts. It wouldn't be nuts for the Titans to beat the Browns, Raiders, Jets, Giants, and Colts. That is not a murderer's row in any way. Now, Colts will be tough. I think the Jets and the Giants may be a little tough. But that is five winnable games. the game that I've won it all along. Give me Thursday night football

against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And imagine, imagine if, and now I will tell you, I know that this game can't happen because the Jags are playing week six in London. So sad. My ideal schedule was murdered right before I came on here to record it with that being announced but the Titans, no international games.

But you could easily flip, you know, these games around. Put the Steelers, Week 6 at home or put Baltimore, week 6 on the road and then move Jacksonville the next game. You know what I mean? Or Jacksonville in week 8. So it's not impossible that I can still get my wish for this. Just won't be week 6. But either way, okay, with that in mind, let's flip that.

Let's flip that. I'm in on that. Let's go Baltimore, week 6 at Baltimore, week 6, Indianapolis, a final, that would be like the final boss of the region, right? You had Cleveland, Raiders, jets, giants. You played a division game against the Colts. Not the, you know, the toughest division opponent, though. And then you finish it off with a road game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Go 4 and 2, 5, and 1 in that stretch. The Titans are a brand new team. Exciting. And then, you follow that up after they have proven it, then you follow that up with a Thursday night football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Week one, home against Cleveland. Week two, away against the Raiders.

Week three, home against the Jets. Week four, away against the Giants. Week five, home against the Indianapolis Colts. And we made a little switch up and went with week six at the Baltimore Ravens. little test to the fast start. But then we kick off the second, third of the season for the Titans. And again, I want Jacksonville in primetime. Thursday night football.

Hey, maybe we give Jacksonville a break. They get a buy in week seven after two games in London. Maybe we throw this game. The Steelers in week seven. We go at Baltimore. We follow that up with the Steelers at home in week seven. and again a major test. Yeah, you went five and one.

You went four and two in your first six games. Who are you going to be now? Did you beat Baltimore in Baltimore? Can you handle Pittsburgh at home? The Titans never beat Pittsburgh. They never beat Pittsburgh. Can you beat Pittsburgh at home and prove it? Prove that that first stretch was real.

You have Baltimore and Pittsburgh, week six, week seven, prove it. And then week eight. Here's where we will throw the Jacksonville Jaguars. I want Jacksonville Thursday night football. football, let's show them. We're back. The Titans are here. We have the better quarterback. Our coach will beat your coach up and he wants to. Go in and, sorry to ruin your Jaguar party, but it's over. Once again, when the Jags really want something, it's the Titans that take it away. When the Jaguars have a good season, they never bounce back and have another good one. It's always inconsistency and a lot of it has to do with the Titans coming to take it away from them. I want to take it away from Jacksonville.

I want that. Jags, Titans, old school, Thursday night football. Let's do it. I'm in. After that, though, time for another division game. I want to play Indianapolis again. I want to play Indianapolis early in the year. Like, that's what I'm all about.

So at Indianapolis, in week nine, that's what I want to see. Okay? Let's knock Indie out. And then we get to the bye week. Buy week and week 10, that's good for me. Anything after week 9, week 10, week 11, week 12,

week 13, week 14, that's a great bye week to me. You don't want your by week too early. Like it's been for the Titans a couple of years ago it was. It was like week seven or something like that. Because they didn't think you have a huge stretch of season where you get no break whatsoever. I think having your bye week, week 10 or later, gives you a chance to self-scout your first half of the year,

rest your bodies, and get ready for the home stretch. And for the Titans, week 11 coming out of the week 10 by, home game against the Houston, Texas. And if the Titans are, let's say they go four and two in the first six because they have a good start to the season. And then they have, you know, the Steelers, Colts, the Jags, those are tough games right there. Let's say they lose two of those three.

Well, now the Titans are, you know, five and four. Still, if I came to tell you, the Titans were five and four going into their week 10 by, you would be elated. We would all be elated. not only did they win more than three games, but they've won five games halfway through the year. Have a winning record going into the buy halfway through the year, that would be an incredible season brewing for the Titans.

Incredible. And if you come out of the buy week and you beat Houston at home in the new Houston-style uniforms and you move to six and four, people are, the Titans are back. They are 100% back. And then the next week, week 12,

I have them going to Cincinnati. They got to play in, I'd rather play Cincinnati later in the year. Cincinnati has a lot of continuity, okay, with their offense, their coaching staff, their players, a lot of similar stuff in Cincinnati. They're going to, the Titans don't have continuity and chemistry and all that stuff yet. So I'd rather play Cincey later

in the year when I think it could be more even. And let's just say this. Joe Burrow always gets hurt. So I'd rather play Cincinnati later in the year because if Joe Burrow gets hurt, probably going to be missing that game. And I don't want him to. I want Joe Burrow in that game. I want the Titans to, I want Cam Ward to beat Joe Burrow straight up.

I don't want anybody to get hurt. But if Joe Burrow is going to get banged up like he always does, he might be missing that game, which would help the Titans. But either way, if the Titans go into Cincinnati, I think Cincinnati's going to be good this year. I really do. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I'm going to have them win in the AFC North.

Cincinnati's good this year. That would be a... Imagine beating Houston to go to 6 and 4 out of the buy and then going into Cincinnati and they're leading their division and the Titans beat them. These games are winnable. Like, Baltimore is a very tough opponent.

For sure. Philly, very tough opponent. Detroit, very tough opponent. Houston and Jacksonville could be difficult. I know Houston will be. but like, this is not the most difficult schedule ever. And I know we said that last year. I know, but I'm just saying.

And then, week 13, Titans come back home and play Washington. I think the commanders are a very beatable team. I think the Titans could be absolutely better than the commanders this year. Would not shock me at all. So we come out of a strong start to the season with what I would say is some of the easier opponents.

but then you, you get the Steelers at Baltimore, at Jacksonville, at Indy, by week, Houston, at Cincinnati. That's a tough stretch, Home versus Washington. There are tough games in there. So if you split those, you go three and three, even if you were to go two and four. Like, again, you're still,

you're still in a great spot. You're still going to have a winning record of 500. And for the Titans, that would be incredible. Imagine going into the final stretch of the season, the final five weeks of the year, week 14 through 18, and the Titans are 500. They're 6 and 6. Like, that would be miraculous. But here's how I want it.

I told you I want an easy start, a soft start for the Titans, so they can get off to a good place. but I want a challenging finish for the Titans. I want to see who they really are. And if they're 6 and 6 or 4 and 7 or, you know, 7 and 5 or 5 and 7, 6 and 6, whatever, if they're right there and they're close to 500, well, I want to see them prove it down the stretch.

They feel good. They can make a playoff run if they win down the stretch. Prove it. Who are you going to be going into 2027? Week 14 at the Houston Texans. That's the tester game right there. Are you going to be able to compete with the Texans on the road in the division when you're battling for playoff spots?

I think the Texans are going to be really good this year. So I don't think it'll be like, oh, the Titans can catch the Texans. You know what I mean? But if the Titans want to keep their wild card spot or at least have a chance at one, they have to go in there and knock off Houston. Prove it, right? And then week 15 at the Dallas Cowboys,

the Texas Two-step. You get Houston, you get Dallas. Prove it. Against America's team. It's going to be a popular game. If the Titans are decent going into that game, that could be a, it's in Dallas, so that could be like a 425 game.

That could be, you know, people are watching. Dallas is a popular team, whether they deserve it or not at this point. They are a popular team. And if the Titans come out and beat the, Dallas Cowboys in Dallas like they did in 2018. It could be kind of a moment like, hey, the Titans are back, baby. And it would get people talking.

And then week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles, at home against the Eagles. Imagine taking down Houston, taking down Dallas, and then taken down Philly three weeks in a row at the end of the year to bring your record to, you know, 8 and 7, give you a real shot to make the playoffs. and then another high-profile road matchup week 17 against the Detroit Lions. Detroit is good, good roster. But I don't think Detroit is good enough to where if the Titans have the season leading up to this point

that we're talking about that they couldn't knock off the Lions, Lions didn't even make the playoffs last year. They're good, but without Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn as their coordinators, the Lions aren't the 15 and 2 Lions. I don't think that. And they've had some upheaval on the offensive line. Titans' defensive line might be able to get after. So, I don't think at Detroit is as hard of a game as, you know,

people want to make it out to beat. And then week 18, I want to be at home. I'm going to finish the season at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Because, again, if there is ever a situation where the Titans have to ruin something for Jacksonville, like a playoff bid, where the Titans have to fight for something important and beat Jacksonville to get it like a Super Bowl run.

It's going to happen. The Titans and Jags are each other's ugly cousin. Neither better than the other. Well, Jacksonville's never made it to a Super Bowl. So maybe the Titans are just a little bit better. The older cousin, we'll call it. But if it's Titans versus Jags for something important, it's going to be the Titans.

It's how it's always been. It's how it's always going to be. because the Titans just have a mental advantage on Jacksonville. So that's where I want to end my season because either the Titans are keeping the Jags from reaching their goals or the Titans are hitting theirs. And I love that setup. So again, week one at Cleveland,

week one, home versus Cleveland, week two at the Raiders, week three, home versus the Jets, week four at the Giants, four winnable games. Week five, home versus Indy, very winnable there. week six at Baltimore, a good test after the first six weeks of the season. Week 7, Home versus the Steelers, another good test to set them up going forward.

Week 8, Thursday night football at Jacksonville. Week 9 at Indianapolis. Week 10 by, week 11, home versus Houston. Week 12 at Cincinnati. Week 13, home versus the commanders. Week 14 at Houston, week 15 at Dallas, week 16 versus Philadelphia at home. Week 17 at Detroit.

Week 18 home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. That is the ideal, perfect Titan schedule, in my opinion, with a fast start, strong divisional middle, and a challenging end. Let's see who they are.
