Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans Kenny Moore Signing MAKES SENSE & NFL Schedule Release Date REVEALED for Next Week

Episode Date: May 8, 2026

The Tennessee Titans have done a lot to upgrade their roster, but things are certainly not complete. Especially in the secondary where the Titans still have big questions. Kenny Moore was just release...d by the Indianapolis Colts and he would be a fantastic pickup for a number of reasons. While the Titans have publicly been hyping Marcus Harris in the nickel spot, Moore makes a lot more sense, no pun intended. Finally, the NFL announced that the official schedule release date will be 5/14/26. The Titans have a very interesting list of opponents so seeing how they are slotted will be extremely interesting.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop...   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LockedOnTitans   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. We got to talk about why the Tennessee Titans need more, and I mean Kenny Moore, the veteran cornerback. I'm going to tell you why he would be a perfect fit, even though the coaches are hyping up Marcus Harris. Also, the NFL has confirmed when the schedule will release. We'll talk about that. Before we dive into all of it, though, do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans, your first listen each and every day. Remember Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round,
Starting point is 00:01:12 always for free. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. Stay locked in to the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world. Locked on Titans. With that being said, though, I do think the Tennessee Titans should go out and sign veteran cornerback Kenny Moore.
Starting point is 00:01:29 He was just released by the Indianapolis Colts. They're looking to do something different scheme. wise, don't really think that he is a great fit. He didn't think that he was a great fit in the scheme with Lou Anarumo there on the defensive side of the ball in Indianapolis. So he wanted out, they let him out, that all makes sense. But I also think it makes sense for the Titans to be the team that goes and gets Kenny more.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Now, I can already hear some of you guys, oh, some of you guys just want to sign everybody. I understand that. I'm not somebody who's out here wanting to sign every single big name. We just talked about Stefan Diggs the other day. I don't really think the Titans should go out and sign Stefan Diggs. I don't think that's something that they're going to do. I don't want Tyree Kill. I don't want Debo Samuel.
Starting point is 00:02:12 It's not like I'm just like, oh, shiny toy. I want that. This is an area that we have been talking about now this entire week. We talked about how the Tennessee Titans still had a remaining need potentially at slot cornerback. We talked about how one of the big question marks for the Titans going into this year is the secondary. So when you look at the slot cornerback position,
Starting point is 00:02:36 if you have Alte Taylor and Cordell Flot on the outside, which again, the Titans coaching staff, and those players themselves have said the plan is to play outside in Robert Salas scheme. Well, what are they doing at nickel? I have theorized that Kevin Winston could be a good early nickel. He did some big nickel stuff for Donard Wilson last year in his rookie season.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And then, of course, we have Marcus Harris. And the Tennessee Titans coaching staff has been hyping up. Marcus Harris at every turn. So I understand all of those things. And when you take all of that circumstance, Kenny Moore is the perfect fit. He is exactly what we've been talking about all week long. They could come in, solidify that slot position,
Starting point is 00:03:17 make sure that the Titans cornerback room is solid. Marcus Harris, we can have the conversation about him. But the reality is this is about Kenny Moore. Kenny Moore being such a great fit and such a good player. Kenny Moore is a really solid veteran slot, one of the best slot players in the entire NFL. Again, wasn't really a scheme fit with what they were trying to do in Indianapolis. That's why he's free.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Last year, only allowed 65% completion percentage. He had two sacks. He had an interception while only giving up one touchdown. He's physical in the run, one of the best run-stopping slot cornerbacks in the entire NFL. Kenny Moore is still a very good football player, and the Titans are going to get him at a discounted rate because of when he's being released.
Starting point is 00:03:58 So Kenny Moore himself, very, very good player that can play in the slot with Alante Taylor and Cordell Flot on the outside. Moving past that, there are connections here. Gus Bradley was the defensive coordinator during Kenny Moore's prime, essentially, at least a part of it during their time together in Indianapolis. So Gus Bradley not only knows Kenny Moore and the type of person he is in the locker room to vouch for him, but he also knows that Kenny Moore knows the scheme. Kenny Moore is going to know exactly what Gus Bradley was going to do if he's unhappy with how he's being used within the scheme in Indianapolis,
Starting point is 00:04:32 wouldn't that make being a scheme fit even more important? You know, there's motivations for free agents on Madden, right? Like the city, the money, the team, the competitive, all this stuff. Well, if Kenny Moore is asking for his release because he doesn't fit in the Indianapolis Colt scheme, wouldn't that in turn mean that scheme fit is something that is very high on his motivation list? Doesn't that make sense? So if you know that there's a scheme fit,
Starting point is 00:04:58 there's connective tissue between a coach that's used in before and a player who's played for that coach. There's a need on the roster. There's a willingness to add more veterans that could make sense in that area that I've identified as a quiet concern. Not enough people are talking about. I mean, you put all of that stuff together
Starting point is 00:05:16 and then the Titans have $60 million of cap space still at their disposal. This wouldn't be, oh, new shiny toy. Oh, sign everybody. No, this makes perfect sense. This is a perfect match. And again, you're talking about Marcus Harris. Oh, the coaches are hyping Marcus Harris.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Robert Sala, don't sleep on Marcus Harris. Gus Bradley, we like Marcus Harris. He played well at the end of, he did play well at the end of last year. And some of the advanced metrics with, you know, separation prevention and things like that, he looks pretty good in the limited snaps that he got last year. But at the end of the day, he's a sixth-round rookie from last year,
Starting point is 00:05:57 who ended the season with a knee injury that knocked him out for a while. Like we have talked about with a lot of the Titans young players, yes, I expect those young players to take a step forward. You need those players to develop, but you can't count on that.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I can't count on Femiola Dejo being an 8 to 10 sack guy. I can't count on Kevin Winston turning into the superstar that I think that he can be. I think those things are possible, but you can't count on them. And the Tennessee Titans need to win
Starting point is 00:06:24 football games and they can't be susceptible in the secondary. Like, I think they might be right now. If Marcus Harris isn't as good as some of those things said that he was at the end of last season and honestly the way the tape looked, he was sticky in coverage. You know, there's reason to believe. But even if you really like Marcus Harris, even if you believe in the potential of Marcus Harris, there's no way that you can know for sure that he is a certified starting slot
Starting point is 00:06:51 cornerback on every single down in the NFL. it's not about whether he can cover guys, it's about whether he can be good enough in the run defense. Can he blitz off the edge? Can he set a firm edge? Can he take on a tight end? Can he take on a puller and not get destroyed and make a tackle or at least contain? I don't know if Marcus Harris can do that at 5 foot 11, 190 pounds. I don't know. So if you don't want to put him in that position where he has to fail, you want to get a really good veteran who knows your scheme or you can trust in the locker room who has establish relationships with your coach and success in his career
Starting point is 00:07:28 with your defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. You can have that guy teach Marcus Harris. He can mentor Marcus Harris. And then Kenny Moore plays on early downs. You could throw in Marcus Harris when it's obvious passing downs. Let Marcus Harris learn from Kenny Moore as he builds up his body through the beginning of his NFL career and gets more muscle and stronger,
Starting point is 00:07:51 understands his angles, knows the scheme better from someone who's done it, lived it, had success, and could teach it to him. Marcus Harris isn't, didn't show so much as a rookie that he should just cart blanche walk into year two as the unquestioned starter. That's not competition on the roster, which is all they preach all the time. That would be my question to Robert Sala at the next mini-camp media. I would say, you know, you guys have talked highly of Marcus Harris throughout this all season. and, you know, maybe he's done enough already to earn your trust,
Starting point is 00:08:24 but you've also said you want to have competition all up and down the roster. Do you envision yourself potentially looking to add a veteran in the secondary to maybe push Marcus Harris for that slot role? And see what the answer might be. Because if it's about competition, I don't really see anybody who's strong competition. It's going to be an undrafted free agent. If you're really given strong competition at the slot to Marcus Harris,
Starting point is 00:08:51 there's nobody else at cornerback right now that can fit that bill if they're playing Taylor and they're playing fly outside like has been confirmed multiple times now by multiple parties. If that's true, then there is no real competition for Marcus Harris at the slot. So whether it's about competition, making people better, whether it's about having a mentor, whether it's about having a veteran player who you know is good. There are so many different logical paths that lead you to signing Kenny Moore would be a good idea. And it doesn't mean that I don't believe in Marcus Harris either. I think that might be the perfect way to develop Marcus Harris.
Starting point is 00:09:26 So I want more of Kenny Moore. Let me know how you guys feel about that down below. But again, we got big news from the NFL. We now know when the Titan schedule will drop. Starting point is 00:11:53 Fans, let's cap off today's bonus edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast. We talked about the Kenny Moore situation. Now we've got to talk about the NFL releasing the schedule date. There's a lot to talk about with the schedule. I'm going to do my schedule wish list, schedule preview, all that
Starting point is 00:12:28 different stuff. I might go through the Titans opponents one by one as we get up to schedule day next week. Make sure again that you get subscribe. Stay subscribed to your team every day. But Thursday, the 14th in the evening. Now, I will tell you the honest truth for me personally, not a great time. I was hoping that the NFL would put that on Wednesday night.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Much more helpful for, you know, just a little old podcaster. But regardless, the world doesn't care about me and I know that. You should recognize that too. Once you understand that and become okay with that, life gets a lot better. I promise you. But the show must go on. It'll be on Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:13:12 And I just can't wait. Because the Titans schedule, we went over it recently. We looked at the opponents that the Tennessee Titans are going to play in 2026. But how it all gets sorted out is so, so important. Like last year, like I didn't think that the Tennessee Titans schedule
Starting point is 00:13:34 was terrible from an opponent, perspective. Like at the time, we didn't think it would be as bad as it ended up being. But I thought that the way the games were scheduled, they had to go to Denver, week one. No one wins in Denver early in the season. That's one of the most difficult circumstances that you could face. And rookie quarterbacks already never win in week one unless they play the Titans
Starting point is 00:14:05 and Will Levis. unbelievable, man. It's always the Titans. Sometimes it's always the Titans. But then you play the Rams, who I thought were the best team in the NFL. And quite honestly, I still believe they were the best team in the NFL
Starting point is 00:14:17 last year. They just lost. And that's how football works. So, and, you know, then you got to play Houston early on. Now I forget who they played week three because I was just,
Starting point is 00:14:32 just get it out of, I think they played Indianapolis early on, you know, like it just, I thought that it was tough to have division games very early in the year. Start out, Road, Denver, then L.A. Then you have the three road trip with Houston, Arizona, Las Vegas, and then New England, a motivated Mike Vrable coming in to smash you. I was like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Then you play indie again. And then you got to play the Chargers, who I thought was good. And then they finally got there by. You know, like I just, you had San Francisco and Kansas City late in the year. Another game against Jacksonville, Houston in there. It just was, I thought it was a tough schedule. But it was tough because of the way that they made the schedule out more than just the teams themselves. This year, the Titans have Houston, Indy, Jacksonville at home,
Starting point is 00:15:25 Cleveland, the Jets, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington, all at home. away the three division opponents, Houston, Indy, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York Giants. Like, if the Titans get to play Las Vegas on the road in between two home games
Starting point is 00:15:51 early in the year, that's better. You know what I mean? Like, if they're able to play the Jets in Cleveland earlier in the year before, maybe they figure things out. Or maybe, those are back-to-back home games late in the year. And it looks great for the Titans to finish the season strong.
Starting point is 00:16:08 See, I don't want the Titans, because the Titans have a new coaching staff. They have a bunch of new players. I don't want to play too many difficult opponents early in the season. I know that the conversation could immediately be, well, that I'll give you lesser opponents later in the season, which you can finish strong if you're in a playoff race. And I get that. But if they get down too early, I worry about confidence
Starting point is 00:16:29 and belief in the new coaching staff. So honestly, if I had to decide, I would rather have the Titans start fast and then maybe trail off at the end of the year rather than start slow and not be good and then maybe figure things out a little more late. I don't know. I guess that's debatable. Now thinking about it, I don't really know.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I feel about that. I'm going to figure out how I feel about that over the weekend and then we're going to talk a lot of schedule stuff because I have all these thoughts about the games and the opponents and when I would want them, what the most ideal time is, the ideal schedule and all that. A lot of schedule content coming in your. your way next week. But, um, I sat on social media. I wasn't going to do a bonus episode tonight,
Starting point is 00:17:08 but I changed my mind because I love talking to you guys. So I'm glad I was able to get out here and do it. A bunch of stuff going on. It's Friday. You know how it goes. It's going on for you guys, too. Life is life is life and at all times. But all you do is bucking your seatbelt and throw your hands up and have a good time. But with that being said, that's going to do it for me today. Folks as, oh, well, wait, wait, wait, wait, join the Lockstone Titans Every Day or Club. Because I said so.
