Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans Mike Vrabel Rumors, Appreciate Ryan Tannehill & Derrick Henry & Week 18 Tank Watch

Episode Date: January 4, 2024

The Tennessee Titans were in the news this week, but for a different reason than we are used to after Mike Vrabel was rumored to be interested in leaving Tennessee due to issues with Ran Carthon. Vrab...el denies this, but it is fair to wonder whether to believe him or not. Next, with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry most likely starting their final game together as Titans, we need to take the time to appreciate the great football they gave us. Finally, what do the Titans need to happen this week to get a better draft pick? Starting point is 00:00:42 Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland, Titans fans. Today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast is brought to you by LinkedIn Jobs. Mike Grable rumors are heating up, ladies and gentlemen, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is trying to force his way out.
Starting point is 00:01:12 We're going to go over all the latest. Also, with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry looking like they're going to take their final start together this week, just want to give them their flowers for the run that they've been on. And then finally, one last tank update to tell you what to watch for this weekend. Before we get into all that, I do want to thank you guys for making the Locked on Titans podcast your first
Starting point is 00:01:32 listen each and every day. Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. I am going to be going live after the game, but I think I'm going to wait until we get later into the 4 o'clock games
Starting point is 00:01:51 because the three games that the Titans need to watch for their tank purposes are all at 4 o'clock or 4.30. So you guys let me know down below. Do you want me to go live right after the Titans game finishes or do you want me to wait a little bit until we can know the results of how some of these other games that are important play out? Let me know down below how you feel about that. Throw a thumbs up on the video as well.
Starting point is 00:02:10 But with that being said, we do got to dive into these rumors. So things have been coming out hot and heavy over the last week or so. Maybe basically just this week since the new year about Mike Vrabel and about his, I guess, riff with Rand Carthon, his unhappiness with Rand Carthon, and maybe his desire to leave Tennessee. Now, I will say that a lot of these reports that we are seeing are reports, rumors, things like that.
Starting point is 00:02:41 And at this stage in media, in our current life, you can pick and choose what you decide to believe from the media. That's just the way that it works. But I want to go over some of these rumors and some of these names that are bringing up these things and kind of go over what we're hearing. So first, ESPN's Dan Graziano said that Mike Rabel leaving the Titans is sort of one that's been out there. He said he doesn't have any hard intel on it. Again, these are rumors.
Starting point is 00:03:14 But there are people who speculate that Rabel could, at some point, want to try somewhere else. He goes on to say, I'm with you. I don't think Tennessee has any intention of letting him go. But if, hypothetically, he went to the Titans and said he wanted to go, yeah, I could see them working out a trade. So again, it's something that's being discussed in league circles. And another one came from the Washington Post and it was, I keep hearing Vrabel and GM Rand Carthon are not a match.
Starting point is 00:03:46 This looks like a rebuilding team, and Vrabel would have trade value. Rival officials believe the Bears and the Patriots would covet Vrabel. And then they have a quote here from a GM in the NFL that says, I could see a trade. Another GM said, quote, I know it's not good there between the coach and the GM. I think something could happen. Then Chad Forbes said, fact is Mike Vrabel has proven himself and he wants to dictate the organizational structure. He'd get complete Sean Payton control. Contract status is a bit cloudy, but a power play is underway. Mike Vrabel wants out of Tennessee.
Starting point is 00:04:26 And Chad Forbes continued to say, Vrabel is basically making it known to ownership. Pick between me or the GM you hired 11 months ago. Clearly lacks a shared vision. It was an arranged marriage by Amy Adams Strunk in coordination with the league office. Vrabel wants his guy, and he deserves it. So, a lot of rumors, a lot of talk about this.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Now, now, and this comes from earlier in the year, Charles Robinson, we've heard things from a local guy like Jason Fitz. There are people out there who have been talking about this for a while. Paul Kaharski has talked about this as well. So, again, I am a person who believes if there's that much smoke, there has to be a fire. But on the other side, Mike Vrabel was asked about this, and shout out to Terry McCormick who asked the question.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Mike Vrabel was asked about these rumors on Wednesday, and he said, I want to be here as long as we can win. I want to win with Ran. I want to win with Chad, Chad Brinker, assistant GM. I want to win with Anthony, another assistant GM. So Mike Vrabel publicly said he wants to be in Tennessee. But all of these rumors, again, it comes down to who you want to believe. Okay, and at the end of the to who you want to believe. Okay?
Starting point is 00:05:45 And at the end of the day, you get to decide. Let me know. Do you believe Rabel or do you believe the rumors that he wants out? I am going to say this. I actually believe Mike Rabel. I do believe Mike Rabel. And you guys know, my everydayers who tune in Monday through Friday, you guys know that I would be the first person to come up here and tell you
Starting point is 00:06:04 that I think Mike Rabrabel is a liar or I disagree with Mike Vrabel said or I don't think that Mike Vrabel is the right coach going forward but I will tell you I do believe Mike Vrabel I do I think that he wants to stay in Tennessee I think that he wants to work things out
Starting point is 00:06:17 he wants to win in Tennessee I believe that I do but it's fair. And shout out to my guy, Zach, from F-Words. He put out the video of Nick Saban back when he left the Dolphins to coach Alabama.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And multiple times throughout the season, he said, I am not leaving to coach Alabama. I will not be the next Alabama head coach. I am committed to the Miami Dolphins. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And the interview was Nick Saban after he went to Alabama, and he said, look, I'm in the middle of a season. Yeah, I lied, okay?
Starting point is 00:06:55 But if I tell the truth and I say, that's a conversation for after the year, yeah, that's something that I'm considering, then that's going to create even more of a wildfire around my team. It's going to upset people in the locker room. It's going to upset my bosses, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, again, I guess I'm just trying to cover this from both sides because there's so much smoke here with Vrabel and being unhappy with Rancarthon.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Then it's hard for me to believe there isn't a fire. Now, at the same time, I think all of that discontent with Rand Carthon and stuff that we're hearing can be true, but Vrabel can also be telling the truth that he does want to win in Tennessee and work it out. But again, the example of Nick Saban shows us, coaches can lie at all times and tell themselves it's the right thing to do. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:42 So, this season is going to be over after Sunday, and within a week or so of the offseason, if anything is going to happen, we should see something happen. Now, let me say this. If the New England Patriots are willing to give up a first-round pick, their
Starting point is 00:07:59 first-round pick, it's going to be a top-five pick. If the Patriots are willing to give us a top five pick for Mike Vrabel who has gone, what, 12 and 22 in the last two years and took over a playoff winning roster. If the Patriots want to give us a first round draft pick in the top five for Mike Vrabel, you take that pick. You take a wide receiver in Malik Navers and one of the offensive tackles,
Starting point is 00:08:28 and you hire Bobby Slowick. You steal the offensive wizard, the up-and-coming offensive wizard, from the Mike Shanahan tree. You steal them from the Houston Texans and C.J. Stroud, and you put Bobby Slowick with your young quarterback and let him build your offense. I have talked all year long about the benefits of having an offensive head coach versus a defensive head coach, continuity,
Starting point is 00:08:51 Super Bowl trends, playoff teams. I've given you all the evidence that offensive coaches are better than defensive coaches in the NFL. You want an offensive coach if you want sustainable playoff success. So if the Titans can get a young and up-and-coming offensive wizard, steal that person from a division rival, and get a first-round pick for shipping out a defensive coach that's lost 22 games in the past two seasons, why in the world would anyone be against that? Doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:09:23 So let me know again down below. Do you believe Mike Vrabel? Or do you think that Mike Vrabel really wants out of Tennessee? Now, with that being said, this game, this last game on Sunday, will be the last game of the season. And it probably will be the last game we see Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry together on the Titans.
Starting point is 00:09:41 So although I know that each of them have their own downfalls, I think it's time to talk about them and appreciate them and give them their flowers. Now, before we get into that though, I do want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by LinkedIn Jobs.
Starting point is 00:10:02 All right. It's the start of the new year and every small business owner is asking themselves the same question. What's the one move I can make that will take my business to the next level in 2024? LinkedIn Jobs knows that your success
Starting point is 00:10:17 all depends on a team that you surround yourself with. That's why LinkedIn Jobs has created the tools to help you find the right professionals for your team faster and for free. LinkedIn isn't just another job board. LinkedIn has a vast network of more than a billion professionals, which makes it the best place to hire. Hiring is easy when you have that many quality candidates. So easy. In fact, that 86% of small businesses get a qualified candidate within 24 hours.
Starting point is 00:10:45 It's why small businesses rate LinkedIn jobs number one in delivering quality hires versus their leading competitors. LinkedIn also knows that small businesses are wearing so many hats and might not have the time or the resources to focus on hiring. Thankfully, LinkedIn, the process is intuitive, quick, and easy. Post your job for free at linkedin.com slash locked on NFL. That's linkedin.com slash locked on NFL to post your job for free. Terms and conditions apply. Titans fans, let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Again, I am your host, Tyler Rowland. Nearly 25 years as a Tennessee Titans fanatic. Certified film junkie, breaking down X's and O's with you guys. Got some really cool stuff on the way with that being said. We talked about Mike Rabel's situation. That was obviously the biggest thing in the news for the Titans this week. Wanted to make sure I covered that. But I do want to shift the focus to the game.
Starting point is 00:12:01 And I know that typically on Fridays we do Game Plan Friday, but let's, let's keep it a hundred here. We need the Titans to lose. So I don't want to spend 30 minutes talking about how the Titans can win when we need the Titans to lose desperately. And the coach is rumored to be forcing his way out. So obviously little pivot there, but I do want to focus on the game for this reason, because Derek Henry and Ryan Tannehill are likely starting in this game. I don't think Will Levis is going to play. He didn't practice on Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Excuse me. So this is the last time that we're going to see Henry and Tannehill together as Titans, probably. And, man, I know. I know some of you guys are so unreasonable. Tannehill effing sucks, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, this and that. Like, we can admit the downfalls, all right? Tannehill was never an elite player, all right?
Starting point is 00:12:57 He was never somebody who raised the level of people around him. He was somebody who needed to be elevated by the people around him. He is a trailer, not a truck, okay? We know that, all right? Also, did Ryan Tannehill absolutely choke like a dog and screw the Titans out of their best playoff chance in a long time in 2021 against the Bengals? Yes, he did, okay? He absolutely did. So, acknowledging that Ryan Tannehill is not a game changer at quarterback, acknowledging that Ryan Tannehill absolutely choked like a dog against the Bengals, we still have to be honest here. He put up top five statistical seasons in 2019 and 2020.
Starting point is 00:13:40 He led this team to its best run since I was a child. I was 9 years old, 10 years old with Steve McNair and Eddie George. The Ryan Tannehill-led Titans are the best Tennessee Titans since Steve McNair and Eddie George. How can we not appreciate that now that we've gotten to the end? I get it when we're in the middle of the chaos. You're pissed off that Ryan Tannehill isn't better, that he made this mistake, but look back at the totality now.
Starting point is 00:14:10 The Titans went to an AFC championship game. The Titans won two division championships. The Titans were one of the winningest teams in the NFL for a four to five year stretch with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry in the backfield. So to me, you can acknowledge all of Tannehill's downsides while also giving him the credit for what he has done for this team. The Titans got him off the scrap heap.
Starting point is 00:14:33 And he came in here and changed things. They were 2-4 in 2019. And you put in Tannehill and they went to the AFC Championship game. You cannot ignore the positives. But you can acknowledge the negatives too. So I just am challenging everybody and pleading to everybody. You don't have to act like Ryan Tannehill was the GOAT, but you got to give him the flowers for what he was able to do in the run that the Titans went on with him. So I will be the first person, again, to be critical of Ryan
Starting point is 00:15:04 Tannehill, to tell you that he's not playing well, to tell you that he's not a game changer. But man, this is the best Tennessee Titans football that we have seen in 20 years. And Tannehill deserves his credit for his part that he played in that, okay? That's all I'm saying. On the flip side, Derrick Henry is the best running back, and Tannehill is the second best quarterback that the team has had since they moved to Tennessee. But Derrick Henry is the best Titans running back ever.
Starting point is 00:15:31 And look, this year, I have been critical of Derrick Henry. Last year, I was critical of Derrick Henry. I know a lot of you guys don't like hearing it because you love him so much, but Henry has misread holes. Henry has not run as hard. He has not run through contact the same. He has not gained the yardage that he should sometimes rush yards over expectation. And that is all stuff outside of the offensive line struggles. That is Derrick Henry stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yes, the offensive line is bad, but that doesn't mean that Derrick Henry has been good. And if you can't acknowledge both of those at the same time, you can't see the duality there. I don't know what to say. You know, there's nothing else that I can say. I've shown film clips. I've talked about it. We've shown data and statistics.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Derrick Henry has regressed. He does not run as hard. He doesn't break the tackles. He's 30 years old as of Thursday. So it is what it is. And he's probably gone after the season. I think he knows that. But again, at the same time, when was the last Tennessee Titan who got national commercials? When was the last Tennessee Titan that had sponsorships for big companies
Starting point is 00:16:38 that were national superstars? Derrick Henry put the Tennessee Titans on the map. Okay? For better or for worse. I think running backs are entirely overrated anyways in terms of how much they contribute to team success. But Derrick Henry gave this team something to be proud of. Everyone respected Derrick Henry. You're talking with your buddies
Starting point is 00:17:03 who are fans of other teams. Derrick Henry. You're talking with your buddies who are fans of other teams. Derrick Henry's the best running back in the league. Yeah, yeah, probably. He's nasty, man. He's awesome. Like, he's one guy who we could be proud of, who we could look at and be like, no, there is no debate.
Starting point is 00:17:18 He's a beast. You know what I mean? And again, a 2,000-yard season, only eight of those in NFL history. And you look at the way the NFL football is right now with running the football and running backs in general,
Starting point is 00:17:29 that is a fantastic feat. Like that is the most miraculous 2,000 yard season ever because of the way that the NFL game treats the running back position and treats running game period. So I have said on, on, at Tic Tac Titans, that the Titans need to move on.
Starting point is 00:17:51 They need to evolve and modernize and quit having a 1980s offense that's built around giving a running back 20 carries per game. Like, that's just not how you win in the NFL. But the fact that the Titans were pretty good trying to do that, Derrick Henry deserves his credit. So, I know that there was nothing concrete that we talked about here. I didn't have some crazy opinion or anything like that. But man, this is the last game of a good run. And I think Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry, despite some of their flaws,
Starting point is 00:18:24 deserve a ton of flowers and deserve our appreciation. Now, if they could do the Titans one more favor and go out there and lose this game against Jacksonville, I would be even more grateful. But with that being said, we got to talk about the tank. I know I've covered it a lot, but one last update of what you need to watch for. It's Tennessee Titans Tank Watch. We're doing it in a second. Before we do, I do want to let you guys know that today's
Starting point is 00:18:53 episode is brought to you by BetterHelp Online Therapy. Okay. It's the new year. Starting point is 00:20:25 slash locked on. Titans fans, let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast, our last Friday episode of the regular season. Man, it goes so, so fast. But I'll be honest with you. I am excited for this season to be over. The Titans have $85 million in cap space, draft picks, a ton of ability to mold their roster and build the team they want.
Starting point is 00:21:05 They got a lot of good building blocks already, which I'm going to be covering next week. So much all season content coming your way. Again, get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day here on the Locked On Podcast Network. We've talked about the tank this week. I led Wednesday's episode with this information, but in case anybody missed it or if you just want a refresher, this is what the Titans need to be looking for on Sunday to secure the tank. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Titans currently sitting with the seventh pick in the draft. The lowest that they can go is pick number four. The highest that they can go is pick number eight. And pick number eight is if they win. Now, of course, the key to the tank is to lose. You have to take care of your business first. So the Titans need to lose
Starting point is 00:21:55 against Jacksonville. I'm not breaking any news to you there. Alright. But after that, they can move up one spot at a time if boom, the New York Giants beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Now look, the Giants are at home and Philly is resting players.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Philly does not care, all right? That's a big opportunity. The Giants have been playing much better football lately. They lost by one point because of a missed extra point and then a missed field goal last week against the Rams. So with Tyrod Taylor, whatever you want to call it, I don't know. With him at quarterback, with the Giants playing improved football, I think there's a great chance the Giants can win that game. The Giants absolutely can win that game. Ph Giants absolutely can win that game.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Philly is the type of team that, they aren't the type of team that's like, hey, if we're rested starters, we're still going to go out there and punch you in the mouth. Philly is the type of team that's like, hey, we're rested starters, man, we don't care. Philly is a too cool for school team. All right?
Starting point is 00:23:01 So if they're like, hey, we ain't playing up players, then who cares? That's how they act. So hopefully that allows the Giants to get the win. And if the Giants win and the Titans lose, whoop, spot number six. Then the Los Angeles Chargers. And of course, any of these one teams lose, the Titans go up one at a time.
Starting point is 00:23:20 It's not like specific teams make them go to whatever. You know what I'm saying. The next game, Los Angeles Chargers at home against Kansas City. And again, Kansas City is not playing Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City is resting a ton of their important players. I think this is the one game that I'm least confident about that I least think will get a victory because the Chargers are just bad.
Starting point is 00:23:45 A bad football coach. Right now with their interim coach too. Brian Dable in New York and Jonathan Gannon in Arizona are much better coaches. So, I'm least confident about that. But, the Chargers are at home. Kansas City's resting players, including Pat Mahomes. So, there's still a much better chance
Starting point is 00:24:07 for the Chargers to win that game than there would be otherwise if it was just normal circumstances. You know what I'm saying? So, if the Giants win and the Chargers win and the Titans lose, now we're up to number five and we are cooking with gas. Then finally, Arizona. Arizona beat Philly last week. Huge for the Titans.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Because now, if Arizona wins at home against Seattle, Seattle just lost to Pittsburgh, Arizona just beat Philly, Arizona's playing better football right now. If Arizona can beat Seattle, the Titans would move up another spot too. So if the Giants, the Chargers, and the Cardinals all win, the Titans go all the way up to number four. Huge, all right?
Starting point is 00:25:02 And to be honest with you guys, I only care if the Titans go up one spot. That, I mean, of course we want them to go as high as possible, but if they can get into the top six, you gotta think there are gonna be three quarterbacks taken, two offensive tackles, and Marvin Harrison Jr. You get in
Starting point is 00:25:17 the top six, you're getting one of those guys. And, I guess if the three quarterbacks don't go in the top five, maybe you can get a team like Atlanta or Vegas to come up and get one of the quarterbacks and then you end up with Malik Nabors or Roma Dunze. You know what I mean? Brock Bowers, whoever.
Starting point is 00:25:38 We talked about that before. So I don't expect that the way did it go, but if it does go that way, then I guess that could happen. But looking at this, I mean, the Titans just have a great chance. If the Titans get in the top five, like, I'm going to dance. I'm going to dance on camera on Sunday night for sure, okay? So, again, Giants at home against sitting Philly, Chargers at home against sitting Kansas City, Arizona at home against sitting Philly. Chargers at home against sitting Kansas City.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Arizona at home against Seattle. Watch those three games. They're all at 4 o'clock. They're all in the 4 o'clock window. So again, that's why I said earlier in the show, let me know down below, you want me to wait until we get closer to the end of those games so we can see how they're going to finish?
Starting point is 00:26:19 Or do you want me to just go regular, go live, right after the Titans game against Jacksonville? Let me know down below. I am going to do whatever it is that you guys want me to just go regular, go live right after the Titans game against Jacksonville? Let me know down below. I am going to do whatever it is that you guys want me to do. But I do want to say this. There is a chance that the Titans could jump the Chargers even if the Chargers lose. So the Titans would have to lose.
Starting point is 00:26:42 And then if the Chargers lose, the Titans need these things to happen. Number one, of course, Titans need to lose to Jacksonville. Kansas City beats Los Angeles. Let's go with those. But then if Buffalo beats Miami, which I think happens, if Dallas beats Washington, which I think happens, if Baltimore beats Pittsburgh, that's tough because Baltimore's sitting their players. But we'll know that on Saturday because that's a Saturday game. And then if Arizona beats Seattle. So, Buffalo beating Miami, Dallas beating Washington, Baltimore beating Pittsburgh, Arizona beating Seattle. If all of that happens, the Titans are going to jump the Chargers if both teams lose.
Starting point is 00:27:18 So, there is a chance that even if the Chargers don't win, the Titans could jump them. So many avenues, So many opportunities for the Titans to get into the top five, top six of this draft. We just got to watch it all play out on Sunday. But, with that being said, I did want to make one personal announcement here at the end of the show. Now,
Starting point is 00:27:37 anybody who follows me on Twitter at TicTacTitans, you already know this, but I have decided to step down, resign, whatever you want to call it, from Sports Illustrated, from alltitans.com. I want to explain why I did that. I loved the opportunity my entire life. I have wanted to cover the Titans and write about the Titans. It was a goal of mine, a dream of mine, and I have checked that box. And I have, again, it was a goal of mine a dream of mine and I have checked that box and I have again another area where I have completed some of my wildest dreams when I was a child despite being homeless at 16
Starting point is 00:28:11 despite my upbringing despite dropping out of college because I didn't have any money despite going through my mid-20s with a ton of personal issues that I don't have time to get into right now. So I want to number one say that this in no way is a negative. I am proud of the work that I've done and I am endlessly grateful for the opportunities that I have gotten. But I want to focus on other things. The daily grind of writing injury reports and transcribing quotes from press conferences and doing articles in the middle of games so that I can't even go to a Titans game because I got to stay home and work. Those things really took a toll on me.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And my work-life balance has been totally out of whack this season. It's led to less film work, less film conversation. And that's what I really wanted to do when I got into this business. I wanted to focus on the film and I just haven't had as much time to do that because I've been worried about all the other tedious day-to-day things that you got to do when you write about a team for, um, for money. So, uh, thank you, Tom brew for the opportunity. Thank you, Becky Regal, for being a constant support system. Thank you, Greg Arias, for guidance and advice.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Want to give my shout-outs to the team that I worked with, but again, I want to focus on what I love most, and that's this podcast, which keeps the lights on in this house, and the film.
Starting point is 00:29:47 So, with that being said, I'm not putting an exact timeline on it here because I got some behind-the-scenes things to work out. But my intention is to start a brand new YouTube channel that is focused solely on film. A lot of you guys ask me when we talk about film on the show, Tyler, why don't you post clips? Why can't we actually go over the film? Well, I work for a large media corporation. Why can't we actually go over the film? Well,
Starting point is 00:30:07 I work for a large media corporation. You can't just take stuff from the NFL. It's a copyright issue. So, if I start my own personal YouTube channel focused on film, I don't have to worry about all those corporate hang-ups. So, that is my intention. I'm not going to take that time that I'm saving to just
Starting point is 00:30:24 be lazy. I'm going to use the time that I'm saving to just be lazy I'm going to use the time to focus on what actually makes me happy so I hope you guys are excited for that film channel should be coming soon sometime here in the off season working on all the behind the scenes stuff right now
Starting point is 00:30:39 but again shout out to the team over at all titans dot com appreciate the opportunity but I'm so so excited to step away from that, get a little bit of my life back, and focus on the things that really brought me to this industry. So I hope you guys will all go over and subscribe to that YouTube channel when the time comes. But thank you all so much.
Starting point is 00:30:58 What an incredible season, even if the Titans weren't good. I appreciate you all. You help me live my dream every single day. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. But with that being said, let me know when you want me to go live on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:31:10 I'll be back with you then and a ton of off-season content coming your way. That is going to do it for today's show. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
