Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - TENNESSEE TITANS MOCK DRAFT: Trade DOWN for Abdul Carter, Finding Right Tackle & High Upside Bets

Episode Date: February 5, 2025

The Tennessee Titans head into the NFL Draft with a ton of options at pick number one, but the best way to take advantage is to TRADE DOWN. The Titans can do that and potentially still pick up top edg...e rusher Abdul Carter. On Day 2 of the draft, the Titans find a way to add three excellent players from big schools who can make an impact right away or developed into a key starter while making another move down the board. On Day 3, the Titans grab some high upside players with tremendous potential. Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop/tictactitans-gear/C3AAPNWXSXA6SBYG3USV2I7R?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videos Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! BetterhelpDiscover your relationship “green flags” with BetterHelp. Starting point is 00:00:00 The Tennessee Titans need to trade down with the number one overall pick in the draft and I'll show you exactly How they need to do it on today's seven round mock draft edition of locked on tight You are locked on Titans your daily Tennessee Titans podcast part of the locked on podcast network your team every day. We've gone through the roster decisions. We've done a mock free agency. And today we cap it off with a seven round mock draft. I'm gonna show you exactly what the Tennessee Titans
Starting point is 00:01:03 need to do in the NFL draft including not only one trade down, but two trades down to collect extra picks and stack this roster. Not only do I get a lot of good players in this year's draft, but set the Titans up for an even better 2026. Now, before I dive into it, do want to thank you for making Locked On Titans your first listen each and every day. Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free. You're not going to beat that anywhere else. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day here on the Locked On Titans podcast. Speaking of every day, shout out to my every dayers out there tuning in Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys. If you
Starting point is 00:01:48 aren't an every dayer, then you need to be one because there's a ton of stuff happening all all season long and you're not going to want to miss any of the reaction to it. But with that being said, let's dive into this seven round mock draft to cap off off season roadmap week We start with the number one overall pick obviously But as I have said throughout this process the Tennessee Titans need to trade down again I know that there are gonna be some of you out there who say the Titans need to draft a quarterback You got to get a quarterback at the end of the day I am not confident enough in these quarterbacks to take them with the number one overall pick and
Starting point is 00:02:29 Forgo the opportunity to trade down here. Not only would I not pass up the opportunity to trade down by taking a quarterback I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take Abdul Carter number one if that's what the Titans absolutely have to do but again, this is my ideal mock draft for the Tennessee Titans. And that includes a trade down at number one overall. So here is the trade. The Tennessee Titans trade pick number one. And a fourth round pick number one, 19. And they get pick number three from the New York Giants,
Starting point is 00:03:10 a first round pick in 2026, and then pick number 65 in the third round. Now, if you look at what my preferred trade value chart is, which is the Fitzgerald Spielberger, that is my, I think that's a more modern trade value chart is, which is the Fitzgerald Spielberger. That is my, and that I think that's a more modern trade value chart. The Tennessee Titans did gain about 994 points here, which you could look at that and say, oh, well, that's too many points. They would never accept that trade. But what I would tell you is, is that if you look at the Carolina Panthers trade
Starting point is 00:03:40 with the Chicago Bears for the number one overall pick, according to the Spielberger Fitzgerald chart, they lost about 4,447 points in that trade. So the Tennessee Titans winning by a thousand points is nowhere near compared to winning by 4,500 points. So I think this is a completely fair trade. The Titans moved back two spots in the draft. They get a first round pick next year and they get an additional third
Starting point is 00:04:06 round pick this year as well. So you get a top 100 pick, you move down only two spots and you get a first round pick in next year's draft. Love that trade for the Tennessee Titans. The New York Giants came up and they picked Chaudhry Sanders number one overall and then the Cleveland Browns at number two took Cam Ward number two overall and that left the Tennessee Titans at number three and of course you know I take Abdul Carter the edge rusher out of Penn State now of course you could have looked at Travis Hunter Teta Roa McMillan the wide receiver out of Arizona Mason Graham the interior defensive lineman out of Michigan James Pierce Luther Burden. Like there are a ton of other options available for the Titans here, but none
Starting point is 00:04:50 of them, in my opinion, are close to the high end upside and immediate production that you're going to get from Abdul Carter. The Tennessee Titans desperately need edge Russ help. And I know they desperately need quarterback help as well. But as I've told you, I find these quarterbacks too risky. I don't think that these quarterbacks are worthy of the number one overall pick in the NFL draft. So now not only do I get my number one player in the NFL draft and the player
Starting point is 00:05:18 that I think is the best possible player on the board, but I do it while getting a first round pick next year and an additional top 100 pick this year. Like to be able to get the best player in the draft while also getting a number one pick next year and an additional top 100 pick in this year's draft, I don't know how you could come up with a more fantastic scenario than that. That is as good as it possibly gets the best player in the draft and a first round pick next year. Like it's just, it's just so incredible. Now I'll tell you the honest truth in real life.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Again, you guys who want quarterback, you're like, Oh, you've got to take a quarterback. Well, the problem with this is in real life. I don't think the Browns you got to take a quarterback. Well, the problem with this is in real life I don't think the Browns are gonna take a quarterback Do you guys all think that the do you guys that want the Titans to take a quarterback? do you think that the Browns would be morons to pass on quarterback because Everyone from Cleveland thinks that they're gonna pass on a quarterback too because they want Abdul Carter if the Titans go quarterback Stupidly, then the Browns are going to be like, thank
Starting point is 00:06:25 you. We'll take Abdul Carter, the best player in the draft. We need a quarterback, but who cares? We're not going to pass up on Abdul Carter. So for the Titans to be able to trade back, get a first round pick next year and still get Abdul Carter, it's hard to beat that outcome, which is what makes it the ideal mock draft. In my opinion, this is the ideal scenario for the Titans. And look, I'm going to reiterate this again, despite how many times I say this, my words are going to be misconstrued. People are going to tell me I hate the quarterbacks, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:06:59 This and that if the Tennessee Titans want to take a quarterback, if the Titans believe in cam ward, if the Titans believe in Cam Ward, if the Titans believe in Shandor Sanders, and they believe that they're the quarterback that can elevate this team and get them over the top and get them back towards winning, then I'm fine with it. I, like, I am perfectly okay with taking the quarterbacks if that's what the Tennessee Titans want to do. Like I'm in to try one of the quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I'm not full. I'm in to try one of the quarterbacks. I'm not fully against that. But if I am making a list of what I think is the best thing that the Tennessee Titans could do, trade down and still get Abdul Carter is number one. It's number one. And then just take Abdul Carter is number two, take Travis Hunter is number three,
Starting point is 00:07:42 and then quarterbacks are Cam Ward's number four and Chedur Sanders is number five That those are my top outcomes that are possible So look I'm not Fully against the quarterbacks, but you asked me what the best thing the Titans can do is The Titans trade down get a first-round next year, get an extra top 100 pick this year and get the best player in the entire NFL draft and it's Abdul Carter. So that's what I would start my ideal mock draft with, but I'm going to make another trade down in the second round based on the situation that it was presented to me as well.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Before we continue, do want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by FanDuel Sportsbook. Super Bowl 59 is here. Starting point is 00:09:12 That's fan duel comm bet with fandel the official partner of Super Bowl 59 Titans fans, let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast. It is our seven round mock draft on today's show. Again it's day four of off season roadmap week. On day one, I did all the Titans in-house free agents. Should they stay? Should they go? Then day two, I did trade packages. I did cap cuts.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I did looking at the salary cap situation for the Titans as a whole. And then on yesterday's show, I did an entire mock free agency. So today is day four. We get the mock draft in, trade down from number one to number three, get a first round pick next year, get pick number 65, take Abdul Carter. And then you come to pick number 35, which is the Tennessee Titans second round pick. A lot of you guys have been asking me, why don't the Titans pick number 33?
Starting point is 00:10:27 Well, when you have the same record as other teams, like the Titans and the Browns had the same record. Well, the Titans won on the tiebreaker for the number one overall pick. But then after that happens, the teams rotate who gets the first pick out of the tied records. So the Tennessee Titans go from the top of the tied records to the bottom of the tied records in the second round and then they flip again in the third round and so on and so forth. But that's why the Titans pick 35 instead of 33.
Starting point is 00:10:55 But either way, the Titans aren't going to be picking at number 35 in my mock draft. I have the Tennessee Titans making another trade and here's why. The Las Vegas Raiders in this mock draft the Giants take Chudur Sanders, the Browns take Cam Ward. That means that the Las Vegas Raiders desperately need a quarterback. Maybe they bring in Russell Wilson or something like that with Pete Carroll. Maybe they bring in a veteran bridge quarterback. But the Raiders will desperately be looking for a young quarterback and I think that that Jaylen Milrow would be a good option for the Vegas, uh, Las Vegas Raiders to sit, sit behind whoever they get as a veteran or whatever.
Starting point is 00:11:34 So the Las Vegas Raiders trade up from number 37 to number 35 so that they can draft Jaylen Milrow and in that trade, the Tennessee Titans trade 35 102 and 169 and they get back 3773 and 214. So we drop back from 169 to 214, but they move up from 102 to 73. So now now you have 3765 65, and 73. Now the Tennessee Titans have gone from three picks in the first 100 to four picks in the first 100 and an extra first rounder next year. Boom! But with that being said, now that we know the Tennessee Titans have slid back from 25 to,
Starting point is 00:12:23 or from 35 to 37. Who do they pick? Well guys the Titans want to build through the trenches. That's what Mike Borganzi has said That is what we're getting from the Titans organization with the new front office structure. So The Titans go offensive tackle I'm going Ariante Ursary offensive tackle. I'm going Ariante, Ursory offensive tackle, Minnesota, six foot five, £339. He has the length. He has the size. He has athleticism. He's only 21 and a half years old and he has good experience
Starting point is 00:12:58 in college. Look, he has a great punch. He's great with his hands inside outside. His punch is fantastic. Bill Callahan is going to love that. He's got some great technique in his pass, uh, blocking ability. He uses a snatch trap technique where you get into the inside shoulder pads of the offensive lineman and pull them down. Uh, he's a guy who's great at the second level, a good experience in zone blocking, but also the ability to work in gap schemes as well. He's a good polar. He's good at the second level.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Like I said, so I like, uh, Ariante, Ursory, I think starting with Abdul Carter as a starting edge rusher. And then you get Ursory and remember on yesterday's show, I brought in Jedrick wills for $2 million. So now Ursory and Jedrick wills will compete for the right tackle position. And I think having a veteran and I think having a young guy to build up and develop that is the Titans must attack the offensive line this year aggressively and make sure they have option after option after option.
Starting point is 00:13:59 So getting Ariante Ursory to pair with Jedrick wills and having those two compete, whether Ariante Ursory is ready to play right away or not. You have a good solution. So Abdul Carter, Ariante, Ursory, two trade downs for top 100 picks. A first next year we move forward. I could have taken Jihad Campbell, the linebacker out of Alabama or Kim Williams, the young tackle out of Texas Wyatt Millam as Well, but Millam has 32 inch arms the Titans want length. So I
Starting point is 00:14:33 Like ariante, Ursary young athletic good skills good traits Still improving love that pit. I love the pairing of Abdul Carter and Ariante Ursary. I love that pairing. Plus to trade down twice, we're killing it. We're killing it out here. But then we move to the Titans first third round pick. Remember, we got pick number 65 from the Giants when we traded down at number one overall. All right. We got pick number 73 from the Raiders when we traded down from 35 to 37. So we added two extra third round picks here and at number 65, I went safety Nick Omenwory. All right. Out of South Carolina to me, Omenwory reminds me, and the way that he would be used, he's not on the level
Starting point is 00:15:30 of this player, but I think this is how he could be used, is Kyle Hamilton. I think there's some Derwin James to Nick Amanwari's game. He's six foot two, over 200 pounds, hits like an absolute truck, but he's a ball hulk. What the Tenn... Hear me out on this. The Tennessee Titans need more playmakers. Guys who make big plays, guys who make an impact on the game, guys who can change the tenor of a game, and Nick Armand-Warriot's safety is absolutely someone who can do that.
Starting point is 00:16:02 He's had multiple pick sixes. He's always around the ball. Is he the best deep zone coverage guy? Does he have elite, you know, backpedal downfield speed? No, but again, you have a guy in Denard Wilson at defensive coordinator who has worked with Kyle Hamilton before, who has worked with Jamal Adams before. I think Nick Amanwari could be a guy who could play that Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, Jamal Adams role where they can play in the slot and they can blitz and they can play at linebacker depth, or they can be a box safety who comes down in the hill and blows people up, read the quarterback's eyes, jump on the ball,
Starting point is 00:16:37 make plays. And when he gets the ball in his hands, he's an absolute demon. So I know that safety may not be a premium position, but I talked about it recently. Quandre Diggs is an older player. All right. Amani Hooker is on the last year of his contract with the Tennessee Titans. They need to find some good safety play. And Daniel Jeremiah has Amanwari ranked as his 21st highest player in the draft. I cannot pass up taking Nick Amanwari at pick number 65. What a game changer and what a fantastic pick if he were to be available there.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Then we moved to pick number 73 for the Tennessee Titans and I get really, really excited with this one. So pick number 73, I had to attack wide receiver. The Titans still need wide receiver. Although I brought back NWI and Tyler Boyd and I signed Ola Meyda as a a keyist, Tennessee Titans still need a wide receiver and I think they need speed and look, I would love a big wide receiver. Think about a guy like Trey Harris would make sense and he was available
Starting point is 00:17:42 right here. But the reality is I think there were better players on the board who are faster, smaller wide receivers. And you guys know, if you've been listening to my draft coverage for few, for quite a few years, I do not like small, skinny wide receivers. I don't like Devante Smith. Great. He's the ultimate outlier, but all of these small,
Starting point is 00:18:05 skinny wide receivers always end up hurt or they can't play against the physicality in the NFL. Think about Troy Franklin. Think about tank Dell. Think about Josh Downs. These guys are always hurt. They're good players because of their speed out on the field, but they're always hurt. But we're in the end of the third round here. And at the end of the day, I want to get game-changing playmakers and there may not be a big physical X receiver that the Tennessee Titans need available right now with the talent that we have, but there is a small, incredibly dynamic, speed wide receiver who I think could change the game for the Tennessee Titans and Mike
Starting point is 00:18:45 Borganzi came from Kansas City where they used a ton of wide receivers exactly like this with pick number 73 I'm taking Isaiah Bond from Texas I am fired up about this pick 5 foot 10 180 pounds I get it but that's a lot bigger than 5 foot nine, 156 pounds, Tess Johnson. So give me Isaiah Bond, incredible speed. He reminds me of a Zay Flowers. The Tennessee Titans were reportedly interested in Zay Flowers and Rancarthon wanted to take Zay Flowers in the first round over Peter Skoronsky. Well, now the Tennessee Titans can make up
Starting point is 00:19:19 for that mistake and get Isaiah Bond to play in the spot, to take the top off the defense with speed potentially be a returner for the Tennessee Titans as well. He can be used as a gadget player. He can be used as a speed demon like get the ball in Isaiah Bond's hands and let him make plays for the Tennessee Titans. It's been far too long since the Tennessee Titans had a playmaker in that elk. We're seeing more guys that size make impacts around the NFL with the way the game is changing. It's not something that I am incredibly over the top about with wide receivers this small, but at this stage in the game, you absolutely, you absolutely
Starting point is 00:20:01 have to take Isaiah Bond here. So I am in love with my top four picks Abdul Carter Ariante, Ursary Nick Amanwari and Isaiah bond We get a first round pick in 2026 and now we move to day three and look to add some depth Today's episode is sponsored by better help What do you want your 2025 story to be? Again, this mock draft is paired with my mock free agency from yesterday with my cap cuts and my roster decisions from earlier this week. I am building out a perfect all-season for
Starting point is 00:21:58 the Tennessee Titans and now we are in the final stage which is the draft on tomorrow's show. I am going to recap everything and look at what the Tennessee Titans roster looks like now After my mock offseason where they still have problems where we fix some things what I'm most excited about So we'll do that on tomorrow's show. Thank you for making locked on Titans your first listen And thank you for getting me to 15k subscribers I'm gonna spend some time on tomorrow's show, going over some of the recent accolades the show has gotten. Um, very excited about some of the stuff that's popped up, but
Starting point is 00:22:30 we'll get to that tomorrow. Let's continue today's mock draft. So we got Abdul Carter, Ariante, Ursery, Nick on memory, Isaiah bond. We moved to day three and my first pick pick number 141 at the fifth round is Shamar Turner, defensive lineman out of Texas A&M. Six foot three, 289 pounds, 22 years old. He was a former five star recruit, which that'll be a pattern here in the back half
Starting point is 00:22:58 of the draft in day three. I'm taking a chance on high upside players from big time programs. That's generally my goal here. Now I got a few exceptions here and there, but that's generally what I'm looking to do. And. Shamar Turner is a guy who has great explosiveness, really good athlete. Uh, athlete. He's got some good pass rush moves as well.
Starting point is 00:23:22 He plays with good motor. Here's the thing. They tried to move him inside in his last year at Texas A&M to be a defensive tackle like a three technique Defensive tackle and he's just a little too small for that. He can't hold up against blocks He's not gonna be great in the run game and I think what the Titans need to do is they need to transition him out to be a five tech to be a three-four position him out to be a five tech to be a three, four defensive end rather than
Starting point is 00:23:46 being a defensive tackle on the interior. I think he's a guy who can line up in a versatile front as kind of a four, three defensive end, which the Titans play multiple fronts throughout the season. So he can be more of a four, three defensive end. I'm not comparing his skill set necessarily to this player, but think about the role within the Tennessee Titans defense. I think that Shamar Turner could be like a Danico Autry. He could be a heavy defensive end.
Starting point is 00:24:14 And then on passing downs, he could kick inside and look, Tevandre Sweat was a good pick. I was wrong about Tevandre Sweat. Okay. Ha ha. Laugh it up. Let's move on. Tevandre Sweat was not a super productive pass rusher this year. Okay. And there were concerns
Starting point is 00:24:30 that at his size with what he did in college, that he may not be a very disruptive pass rusher consistently. Well, a guy like Shamar Turner with his athletic traits and his freakish ability and his twitch, he's a guy who could maybe come in for Tavondre Sweat on some third down opportunities to be part of the pass rush. So if you have Abdul Carter, Harold Landry, Arden Key, Baron Browning, who I added in free agency, Tavondre Sweat, Sebastian Joseph Day, Jeffrey Simmons and Shamar Turner. Now you have an eight man rotation on the defensive line
Starting point is 00:25:07 That gives you the ability to stay fresh throughout games and the Titans had a big problem last year that their backup defensive line Would be a big drop-off for them now. You don't have that problem as much That is how you attack the pass rush Shamar Turner fifth round Texas A&M Former five-star recruit freak freak athlete, need some polish, need some refinement. We can work on that. Okay. Especially on the D line, um, with the Titans D line coach.
Starting point is 00:25:33 So we move forward to the sixth round and with the Titans sixth round pick number 178, I went with running back, Ollie Gordon out of Oklahoma state, six foot one, 230 pounds. Now, Ollie Gordon took a major step back this last year in college football, his yardage almost dropped in half. Now his carries dropped by about 100 as well. And that's why he's going in the sixth round when he was considered one of the top college football players coming into this last college football season. But here's some realities we need to accept. when he was considered one of the top college football players coming into this last college football season.
Starting point is 00:26:05 But here's some realities we need to accept. Taje Spears was hurt a lot last year. Tony Pollard started breaking down at the end of the year, cause he is not meant to carry a bell cow running back role. Tony Pollard isn't meant to take as many carries and be used like Derek Henry. Tony Pollard is meant to be used in a committee. Okay. He can be the lead back in a committee, but he's a committee back.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Taji Spears and Tony Pollard are both smaller running backs who maybe aren't power backs. So you go get Ali Gordon, who is a power back, who runs with physicality, violence and finish. Maybe he doesn't have the long home run speed that you would want. Maybe he's not boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, super fe boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
Starting point is 00:26:47 boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
Starting point is 00:26:55 boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, , boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, Tony Pollard and Tajay Spears are also. Ali Gordon is a pretty solid pass blocker. He's also a very functional pass catcher out of the backfield. He caught like 30 passes this year in college football. So it's not like he's a guy who can't do that.
Starting point is 00:27:14 So versatile skillset, his physicality and downhill running ability pairs perfectly with Spears and Tony Pollard, and he can take the weight off those guys. When those guys deal with injury. So we don't have to run them into the ground. I think in the sixth round, that would be a fantastic pickup, versatile power, big size. That's exactly what the Tennessee Titans need. And then when Tony Pollard is done after this year, after next year, or when you
Starting point is 00:27:40 move on from Tajay Spears, after his rookie contract is up, now you have Ollie Gordon as a perfect person to pair with the next guy you bring into your committee who's probably going to be a speed back. So to me it just keeps the chain going at running back and they need a physical power back and to get a guy like Ollie Gordon in the sixth round, 178, hard to pass that up. Also with his size and physicality, he can play on special teams. So that'll help as well. Pick number two, 14, the end of the sixth round for the Tennessee Titans. I went with Clay Webb, the interior offensive lineman out of Jacksonville state.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Now this is a guy, like I said earlier, I have an exception to the big school thing, but even within that, Clay Webb was a former five-star recruit who went to Georgia at the beginning of his career. Now he didn't get to play at Georgia and ultimately had to leave Georgia and ended up at Jacksonville state. So you could use that as a knock against him, but the fundamental talent that he has is there and at the senior bowl, Clay Webb was one of the highlight performers at the senior bowl.
Starting point is 00:28:49 He had been a guard for most of the time in his college, a little bit of tackle, but they put him at center at the senior bowl. So Clay Webb is a guy at six foot three, three hundred and ten pounds, needs to put on a little bit more weight, but he could be a long termterm center for the Tennessee Titans. We don't know if Cushionberry is going to be long-term affected by the Achilles. So this is a guy who could come in, be a backup center, be a backup interior offensive lineman who spent time at guard, but can be your long-term replacement for, uh, Lloyd Cushionberry. Again, five star recruit coming out of high school, went to Georgia.
Starting point is 00:29:29 He's got the pedigree. He's got the natural talent. Now let's refine it. Let's get it back on track. Seventh round or sixth round pick to get clay web. Absolutely love that pick. And then the final pick of the draft for me, seven or seventh round, two 41. I went back to wide receiver. I went with your Corey Brooks wide receiver out of Louisville, six foot one,
Starting point is 00:29:53 194 pounds. Another guy, former five star recruit. He is a high length speed athlete. Look, he's slim at 194 pounds. There are some drops on his tape. He maybe doesn't have deep burner speed down the field. He is an older prospect at 23 years old. He's not a super elite yards after catch guy, but we're talking about a seventh round wide receiver. He is an incredibly crafty route runner. He is a guy who at his size runs great routes. I saw my guy, James Foster, compared him to Don Tavian wicks from the green Bay Packers.
Starting point is 00:30:26 And I think that's a great comparison because it's a height length, body type wide receiver who's a good route runner at that size. Maybe doesn't have great speed, had some drop catches in college, but either way. Jacori Brooks is a fantastic contested catch guy. Again, he's got good height at 6'1", good length. He's good against zone. He runs good routes. I said earlier when I took Isaiah Bond
Starting point is 00:30:51 that what the Titans really need is a big physical X-wide receiver because they don't have that on the team right now. You could say NWI is that, but he doesn't have the high-end talent that you need at that. J'Kory Brooks is a guy who does have the high-end talent. Maybe he'll never be the speed guy to create separation consistently, but with his good route running ability and his contested catch ability at his size, the Titans absolutely need
Starting point is 00:31:15 to take a chance on Jacori Brooks in the seventh round at this stage. 241, love that pick. So one love that pick. So what is the mock draft in totality? Here it goes. We trade down from number one overall to number three, pick up a first round pick in 2026 and get Abdul Carter, the best player in the draft pick number 37. We make a trade down from 35 to 37, collect some additional third round picks and take Ariante, uh, Ariante, picks and take Ariyanta, uh, Ariyanta Ursory, the offensive tackle athletic experienced offensive tackle out of
Starting point is 00:31:50 Minnesota. Then we get a play making safety with our first pick in the third round. Nick, I'm on worry. He is a Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, versatile physical style safety, ballhawk playmaker over the middle of the field. Probably won't even be available that late when the real draft comes, but I'm not passing it. Then we get Isaiah Bond, we get the speedy slot wide receiver who could take the top off the defense. A playmaker the Titans haven't truly had in a style the Titans truly haven't had
Starting point is 00:32:19 in quite some time. We take Shamar Thomas or Shamar Turner out of Texas A&M, the explosive athletic tweener on the defensive line. Again, we're stacking the trenches here. We take Ali Gordon with a sixth round pick as a physical bruising back to pair with Tajay Spears and Tony Pollard. Then we get Clay Webb, the interior offensive lineman out of Jacksonville state, the former five star recruit that went to Georgia out of high school.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And we finish it up with the physical X receiver, great and contested catches and good route runner, Jacori Brooks, six foot one out of Louisville. Remember we got all eight of those players and a first round pick next year. Tomorrow. I'm going to recap everything that's happened. Let me know what grade for this mock draft down below in the comments. If you're watching on YouTube, but that's going to do it for me today. Folks, I am your host Tyler Rowland.
Starting point is 00:33:13 And as always, Oh, I, I messed that all janky up. Let me, let me, let me fix this. Let me fix this. It's been a long week. As always, I am your host Tyler Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
