Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans MUST TAKE David Bailey or Arvell Reese OVER Jeremiyah Love & All Offense on Day 2
Episode Date: April 13, 2026The Tennessee Titans are heavily rumored to like Jeremiyah Love, but edge rusher is still their preference and if Arvell Reese or David Bailey drop to the fourth spot, they need to be the pick over a ...running back. Once that is the selection though, where do they go from there? The easy answer is offense. Whether it be a receiver in the second and offensive line in the third or vice versa, a defensive start must pivot quickly to offense. Unless the Titans truly want to stack out their defense with an edge and linebacker in the first three rounds. The Tennessee Titans should take an edge rusher over Jeremiah Love at the top of the NFL
draft, but if they do, they have to attack offense immediately, and I'll show you what it would
look like on a mock draft edition of Locked on Titans.
You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked On
Podcast Network, your team every day.
Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast.
I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans.
fans on today's show.
We are going to look at three mock drafts, three rounds apiece that start with an edge
rusher in the first round.
Yesterday, we looked at what three different mock drafts would look like with Jeremiah
Love at the top.
We'll do Cornell Tate tomorrow, Sunny Stiles after that, and the best mock draft of each
day voted on by you will advance to the finale at the end of the week where we will crown
the best three round mock drafts start for the tennis.
Titans again, put your pick down below in the comments, hit me up on social media.
Before we dive in though, do want to thank you for making Locked-on Titans.
Your first listen, each and every day.

It's your team every day.
Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there.
Tune in Monday through Friday, couldn't do it without you guys.
If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one.
The draft is just a little over a week away.
you want to stay as up to date, as informed,
as entertained as a Tennessee Titans fan
could possibly be, make sure that you stay locked in
with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world,
locked on Titans.
But with that being said, again,
I have been consistent throughout the entire draft process
since the middle of January, I have felt the same way.
I want an edge rusher at the top of the draft.
Whether it be Arvel Reese, who's my number one player,
whether it be Rubin Bain, who's my number two edge rusher,
whether it be David Bailey, who's my number three.
I would still take an edge rusher over Jeremiah Love at the top of the draft.
I think the edge is a super big position of need for the Tennessee Titans
that people don't quite understand because they think Jermaine Johnson is a long-term piece
or they have more faith in Femiola-Dazio becoming who you hope that he will be
than who he actually is right now.
Maybe they're overestimating some of the smaller edge.
Rusher signings or overestimating John Franklin Myers' ability to play on the edge on passing downs.
For whatever reason, there are people out there who want to diminish the need that the Titans
have at Edge Rusher, which I think is absolutely silly. It is still a top-tier need. And again,
not only that, but the prospects that are available at a big position of need that's also a
premium position, it's a slam dunk for me. I would prefer edge rusher. Now, whenever I say that I
would prefer edge rusher. People take that as I don't want Jeremiah Love. I would like to pick
a Jeremiah Love and if the Titans go with Jeremiah Love, I will be very happy about that selection.
But I do have a preference and it is edge rusher and at this point in time, that would come
down to David Bailey or Rvel Reese. Again, I've talked about it on the show. I may like Ruben
Bain. I may have Ruben Bain as my number two, Eddrusher. I would take Rubin Bain at number
four, but we've heard reporting that indicates the Titans do not like Rubin Bain.
Now we have, you know, the car crash reports that are obviously going to taint things a little bit.
And you could see why with Rubin Bain also being a little bit of a wonky fit when it comes to the
scheme, he's not your pure wide nine speed rusher.
He's more of an inside, outside, versatile power rusher, which the Titans have a lot of
with Jeffrey Simmons and John Franklin Myers and Jermaine Johnson could do some of that.
and Femio Ladejo could maybe be that kind of player like,
that's just not what the Titans need the most.
So even though I like Bain, again,
which I have said over and over and over again,
I do believe that the Titans do not like Ruben Bain.
So in my mind, that means if they're going to take an edge rusher at number four,
it's going to be R. Val Rees or it's going to be David Bailey.
And again, at this time,
it seems like it's more likely to be R.Vel Reese.
with David Bailey going number two to the New York Jets,
I could see the Arizona Cardinals going with one of the offensive linemen,
going with Jeremiah Love themselves,
going with Sunny Stiles as well.
I think all of those players are options for the Cardinals.
Nobody knows what the Cardinals are going to do.
Now, I think it's more likely that it goes,
David Bailey, R. Val Reese.
But the Arizona Cardinals have had issues in the past
with tweener-type players like Zayvon Collins or Isaac.
Simmons, you know, that has been a thing that they have struggled with in the past.
Maybe that would push them away from a player like Arvel Reese.
So I think that it's much more likely that Arvel Reese is there at four
than I think that it is that David Bailey is there at four.
I think David Bailey is the Titans number one player in the draft
and they would take him at number four over anybody else if he were available.
But regardless, I would take Arvel Reese over Jeremiah Love,
I would take David Bailey over Jeremiah Love.
I would take them at number four.
And if that's what the Tennessee Titans end up doing,
then they immediately,
immediately have to pivot to the offensive side of the ball.
And if they do that,
they're either going to take wide receiver or offensive line
at pick number 35.
And as we have discussed and we'll continue to discuss,
I don't think that there's a lot of good value
at wide receiver at 5.
The top six wide receivers were off the board. Tyson, Tate, Lemon, Cooper, Concepcion, Boston, all off the board by 35, which leaves you with
Chris Brasel, Chris Bell, Jeremy Bernard, Zachariah Branch. I just don't think there's good value with any of those players at that spot.
Now, interior offensive line is the other spot that I would consider. I would consider offensive
tackle. But in this mock draft
that we're in right now where we take
Arvel Reese or David Bailey
at number four, whoever you
want it to be, that's fine. Eddrusher
at number four
with Emmanuel Pregnone
Max
Max Ian Accor
off the board
Keelon Rutledge
off the board
I had to take Chase Bissontas
I had to go get... Chase Bissontas
is
Out of the three guards that could be there at 35.
Emmanuel Pregnone, Kielan Rutledge, Chase Basantus.
Basantus is my least favorite of the three.
But there are a lot of people in NFL circles, it seems,
who believe that Chase Basantus might be the top ranked amongst most teams
of those three guys, that Pregnon and Rutledge might be behind Chase Bessantis.
And Bessonis, to me, is a guy who just isn't super powerful.
He's got good feet, good quickness, smart hands.
He's 6 foot 5, 310 pounds.
He reminds me of Peter Skoronsky.
Skoronsky isn't the biggest, bulkiest, road grading mauler type guard.
But he's quick, good and pass protection, can use his feet to recover and anchor down even without super raw power
or these incredibly powerful hands that punch and strike.
They're just technically refined, good athlete.
Maybe that's what the Titans look for.
Chase Basantis is a guy who has had some contact with the Tennessee Titans.
So I didn't want to miss out on all these good guards entirely.
So we go with Bailey or Reese at number four.
Then we follow that up with Chase Basantis.
But then we get to round three and how can we not go wide receiver at this point?
How can, and right here, you have Ted Hurst or Zachariah Branch.
In my opinion, with Wondell Robinson, Calvin Ridley,
Jim D.K.
You have a multitude of guys
who can play in the slot.
KJ. Osborne.
Xavier Restrepo.
Mason Kinsey.
Where are the guys who could play on the outside?
So I think Zachariah Branch
is a better player right now than Ted Hurst.
But based on what the Titans need
and the long-term potential,
I had to go with Ted Hurst.
And we had to take a wide receiver.
right there. It absolutely had to be done.
So this is my favorite
three-round mock draft
if you take edge rusher
at number four which I think the Titan should do.
If you take David Bailey or R. Val Reese at number four,
you follow that up with an interior
offensive lineman and Chase Basantis out of Texas A&M
and then you follow that up with a high potential
raw wide receiver like Ted Hurst
which I wouldn't even call him that roll.
He's a better route runner than Chris Brasel.
or Chris Bell, in my opinion.
So you go edge, you immediately pivot to offense
with Chase Passantis at right guard,
Ted Hurst, your big-bodied physical X wide receiver
who could potentially be a superstar.
That right there might be my favorite mock draft
of all of the mock drafts that we look at this week.
That three-round combination of Edge,
interior O-line wide receiver
is a perfect combination of hitting need,
getting talent, and getting value.
The problem is, what could happen is the wide receiver talent could dry up by the time you get to 66.
And if you're worried about that, then you have to go wide receiver in round two,
which I don't know is as good of a value.
But let's look at what that would look like.
But again, finding an edge number one, edge rusher, Bailey or Reese,
Chase Basantis in round two, Ted Hurst in round three.
That's my favorite of the mock drafts, but again,
let's look at one where we take wide receiver at pick number 35.

And let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Again, we're doing our mock draft trios for the Titans.
We did Jeremiah Love, three round, three different mocked
yesterday. You guys picked mock draft number three with Jeremiah Love, a guard, and then a wide receiver.
We just looked at edge rusher at number one and then a guard and a wide receiver.
But now let's go wide receiver a little bit earlier. Again, we are going to take an edge rusher at number four.
Whether you like R. Val Reese, you like David Bailey more.
Whoever you like more, put them in that spot.
But now, what if we're worried about a wide receiver that we're going to end up with?
On day three. Is Ted Hearst going to be there? Could he go earlier?
If Ted Hurst isn't there, you put yourself in a very difficult situation.
You're looking at Malachi Fields, Antonio Williams, Elijah Surrott, Skyler Bell.
I don't think that any of those guys are good fits for the Titans at number 66.
I would not be comfortable taking any of those players at 66.
I do not like Malachi Fields, period, point blank period,
not a fan of him at any place in the draft.
He's off my board.
don't like Malachi Fields.
Antonio Williams is more of a slot guy,
and I already talked about how I don't think a slot,
like a Zachariah Branch or something like that,
is a good fit for the Titans with what they currently have.
Elijah Serrat would be a good physical wide receiver,
but Serat just seems like a less athletic version of Elycayo manner, in my opinion.
So I'm not taking him at 66.
Skyler Bell is explosive, but again, I think he's a slot guy.
So the Titans could be in a pretty,
tough spot and maybe they don't want to, they don't want to get to that spot.
So they want to take wide receiver at number 35.
Well, if the sensational 6 is off the board, that would leave you with a group of wide receivers,
again, that we've been talking about that I'm not comfortable taking at 35,
whether it's Chris Brasel, Chris Bell, Jeremy Bernard.
Again, I already mentioned you could put Zachariah Branch in that group,
but I don't think that he's a scheme fit.
I mean, I think he is a scheme fit
but the Titans already have too many people
who do what he does
so I don't think that Zachariah Branch
would be a pick for the Titans
they want more of a bigger-bodied guy
well that's Chris Beller
that's Chris Brasel
Jeremy Bernard is also
a good size but I just don't think
that Jeremy Bernard has the
high-end potential
to take it 35
Chris Brasel
could be
you know
a super
sized Devante Smith.
He could be a T. Higgins.
He could be a, you know, everybody wants to compare him to Randy Moss.
Yeah, right.
You know what I mean?
But like, that's the, that height, weight speed, 6 foot 4, 200 pounds, 4 440, blazing
down the field, go up and get the ball over top of guys.
He's a better route runner than most of the Tennessee guys typically are.
Chris Brasel could make a ton of sense.
I talked about Chris Bell on yesterday's show.
He was part of the number two mock draft.
They got last place where the Titans took Chris Bell
at 35.
I'm just trying to give you guys an idea of the way he plays.
A.J. Brown.
Big physical.
6 foot 2, 210.
Strong.
Catch it over top of you.
Big body you.
Catch a short drag route.
Take it to the house with speed.
6 foot 2, 220.
That speed,
he's going to get A.J. Brown comparisons.
Debo Samuel.
Trailing.
from watching his tape, I would say that is not out of the realm of possibilities.
You know what I mean?
So Chris Bell and Chris Brasel would be the only guys that I could take at 35.
I can't take Branch, I can't take Bernard and if the Sin 6 are gone, then let's go with Chris Brasel.
We took Chris Bell in a mock draft yesterday.
We didn't take Brasel.
Let's take Chris Brasel at pick number 35 again.
Super high-end potential.
I don't think that like Dane Bruegler,
from the athletic had Brazel as his number 96 player.
I honestly think that there's a better chance
that Chris Brousel is available at 66
than him going in the top 40 picks.
That's how I feel about Chris Brasel.
I think there is somewhat of a chance.
The Titans could get him at 66.
But in all of these mock draft simulators,
no matter where you go or what you do,
he doesn't fall to 66.
So we take him at 35
And we say, hey, this guy
With a little bit better route running
Put some more weight on his frame
Could be an elite wide receiver
And he's a deep threat
You know, he's not quite as good as Carnell Tate
But with his speed and his size
He can be a less reliable
Cornell Tate
right now
And I think that Chris Brasel
has more upside and superstar potential
than Carnell Tate
Cornell Tate is just more solid, more reliable, more certain.
So I'll go, David Bailey or Rval Rese at 4, follow that up with Chris Brasel at 35,
and we get the pick 66.
And I know a lot of you are going to instantly say,
interior offensive line.
Boom, boom, wide receiver, interior offensive line in one order or another.
You just got O line first and then went wide receiver second.
and the last one just flipped that in this one.
Well, here's the problem.
All the good guards
were gone.
Basantis, Rutledge,
Pregnon, they were gone.
And then if you want to say, well, just get a center.
Draft a center then.
Why would I draft a center
when
slaughtered,
Jones,
Hacked, Lou,
Parker,
Googling, Brailsford.
They're all available.
That's six or seven centers
that I feel comfortable with.
Now, maybe the argument would be
you can get your center of choice.
Go ahead and take them instead of having more limited options at 101.
That's 35 picks.
Four or five of those guys could go.
And then now you're in your bottom three
and it's not as good as the top.
Okay.
But I can't do it.
there are too many centers
and the guards aren't good enough.
So I can't take center or guard at 66.
So what do we do?
We have wide receiver, we have edge rusher.
If we're not getting interior offensive line,
there are no good offensive tackles
that you would want to develop behind Dan Moore
that should be taken at 66. Where do we go?
Well, for me,
the only place to go is back to defense.
Linebacker.
cornerback.
And for the longest time,
and we talked about this on the cornerback episode last week,
but for the longest time,
it's a good song as well, Africa.
I thought that the Titans would be going after
a boundary cornerback in the draft.
But what I did at 66 here is,
I said, no, I actually think that they want a slot.
Alante Taylor has said multiple times in public
that he's playing on the outside.
Cordell Flott has already admitted
that the vision that Robert Salas sold him
was that he was going to be their field outside corner.
Well, if Taylor and Flot were hired and signed
to be outside corners,
who's playing inside?
Who's playing nickel?
With Robert Salas' 425 defense.
I have said, I think Kevin Winston can do that.
Marcus Harris also could be an option.
But what if the Titans want to find?
their own slot. What if the Titans see Kevin Winston is more of a safety?
What if the Titans do want to grab one of these guys in the draft like a Keith Abney,
like a DeAngelo Pons, like a trade-in Stoops? Stooges is probably a guy who's going to go
in the second round. Super, super versatile guy.
Can play outside corner, can play slot, can play safety.
I think he'd play safety and slot.
Great ball skills.
at the catch point. Gonna get turnovers,
going to take the ball away, going to make plays.
He's an explosive athlete
that can drive on people. Great speed.
Doesn't get penalties.
But he's an instinctive
player. So sometimes he'll leave
his assignment. He's not the strongest guy. He's had some
injuries and he's 24 and a half years old.
But I mean, 6 foot, 1-90.
4-3 speed.
31 and 3 quarter-inch arms.
Like, trading,
Stoops is a playmaker.
And for the Titans, he may be 24, but I talked about this.
Last week, if the Titans don't want to pay slot cornerbacks,
which they just traded Roger McCreary when he was up for a contract
because they didn't want to pay a slot cornerback,
if the Titans don't want to pay a slot cornerback
and they're just going to rotate through them all the time,
then sure, get trading Stukes at 25 years old.
And when he's done with this contract, you let him leave.
And he's 30 years old, you find a new slot.
So I think that Trayden Stukes, who the Titans had a 30 visit with
playing slot, he could be a starting safety next to Kevin Winston for the rest of eternity as well.
Winston is your big physically gifted strong guy and then Stukes is your instinctual fast guy
Those two guys together could be nasty both can play the slot and overhang
So much versatility in the secondary.
So let's go with that with mock draft number two
Bailey or Reese, Chris Brasel, and because there were no good interior offensive linemen available,
we went with Trayton Stoogs.
Now, in the last mock draft that I want to go over with you guys,
similar situation, the Titans just simply miss out on the good wide receiver talent.

And so let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans
podcast again we're doing our Titans
Trio mock draft week where we do
three different three round
mock drafts starting with a different player
different position every single one
Jeremiah Love was yesterday
edge rusher today carnal tape tomorrow
sunny styles on Thursday we'll take the best
mock draft of each episode and have them
face off at the end of the week so make sure
that you let me know your vote for
one two or three down below in the
comments or hit me up on social media
let me know how you feel I've been doing posts
and everything with the mock draft so you have plenty of
to make your voice heard.
Again, my number one mock draft for the Titans
is edge rusher at four,
Chase Passantis at number 35,
and then Ted Hearst, the wide receiver at 66.
We just looked at an option
where the Titans went wide receiver
in the second round with Chris Brazzled
to go along with an edge in the first
and got Trayden Stoops,
the versatile defensive back safety slot corner
at round number three.
Now we go to the final mock draft
and I will admit it is my least favorite
of the three I did order them based on my preference here.
Of course, we start with an edge rusher at the top.
David Bailey, R. Val Rees.
Whoever you want it to be is who it is.
And then we come to the second round pick.
And again, the top six wide receivers are all off the board.
So I can go to the Brazel Bell, Bernard, Branch group that I don't want to be in.
As I've told you guys before, I don't like that value at number 35.
you know it would be really great.
If the Titans took an edge rusher with the fourth pick
and then traded back and got two third round picks
and then they were able to get wide receiver
with like 40 to 50 like Chris Bell or Chris Brazel or Jeremy Bernard
and then they could get both their interior offensive linemen
in the third round or they can go guard in the,
or they can go guard and then wide receiver
and then cornerbacker, linebacker, and then center.
You know what I mean?
Like, there are so many different options with the trade down in the second round.
I would imagine the Titans are going to be looking at that,
depending on who falls to them.
But I can't go with those wide receivers.
C.J. Allen and Jacob Rodriguez were on the board,
but imagine how Titans fans would feel
if you took an edge rusher at number four over Jeremiah Love
and then followed that up with a linebacker.
Imagine if they went Arvel Reese and then linebacker.
You might have just drafted two linebackers back back in your first
two rounds. That's what people are going to be saying. I don't believe that.
I think Arvel Reese is going to be an edge, but he's certainly going to have some versatility
to him where he can play a little bit as a stack linebacker if you need him.
So I can't take a linebacker after taking an edge rusher. I just can't do that to you guys.
So at the end of the day, I'm going to continue to come back here.
It's hard for me to ignore this.
Interior offensive line is the best value in the second round.
And I think I would venture to say that offensive line, period.
You could have a Maxi and a Corps.
You could have a Blake Miller.
You could have a Caden Proctor, Spencer Fano, Caleb Loomu.
You could have one of those guys fall to you at 35.
I just think offensive line, when we get to the actual draft,
offensive line is where the value is going to be.
So I went with a manual pregnone in this one.
We went with Basantus and the other one.
So we go edge rusher,
Emmanuel Pregnone in the second round,
and then we get to the third round,
and again, this is the danger for the Titans.
We all want to say,
take Ted Hurst in the third round.
Take Ted Hurst in the third round.
Well, what if he's not there at 66?
What if all that's left is Malachi Fields,
Elijah Surat, Skylar Bell?
I'm not taking any of them at 66.
Not a chance.
and again, the centers, we talked about the centers.
All of them are still on the board.
Every single center in the draft is still on the board
at this stage, at this pick.
So I can't take center when I know that I'm going to get
one of the top six or seven by pick 101 for certain.
Do I go with one of the defensive backs?
Trading Stoaks was off the board in this one.
So we're looking at Malik Muhammad,
Ephesians Priceock,
Takario Davis?
Is that...
No, I couldn't do it.
So I went to a position that I think the Titans care about more than I think they do,
and that's linebacker.
And we went with Josiah Trotter out of Missouri.
I don't know that Josiah Trotter is going to be here.
But if he is, I love the pick for the Titans.
6-1-237, 32-and-a-quarter-inch arms.
He's only 21 years old.
He needs to get a little bit better in zone coverage.
No doubt about it.
He needs to have better awareness,
not leave his zone to early things about that.
That was a problem for him in college.
It was.
But strong, well-built,
absolutely brutal hands.
He will just destroy you with hands.
He's a great block shudder.
He gets off the block no matter what.
He doesn't miss tackles.
Gets downhill.
Plays with violence.
Better blitzer.
then a lot of linebackers in his group,
he's a pretty good pass rusher.
He's not, you know, R. Val Rees or Sunny Stiles or anything like that,
Jake Galday, but Josiah Trotter is a more advanced rusher
than I think people realize.
So if there are no good wide receivers at 66,
and all of the centers are still remaining,
I'm going to go somewhere else.
And I think linebacker and cornerback
are the two auxiliary spots
that the Titans could hit earlier
than maybe Titans fans want to think.
So again, to recap,
edge rusher mock draft number one is Edge,
Chase Bassantis, Ted Hurst.
Edge rusher mock draft number two
is Edge Rusher, Chris Brasel,
trading Stukes,
and Edge Rusher mock draft number three
is Edge Rusher, Emmanuel Pregnone, Josiah Trotter.
Let me know down below which of those is your favorite.
Again, I have them in the order that I like them, one, two, and three.
But I like number one better than number three in the Jeremiah Love mock drafts.
And you guys pick number three.
So what I like the most isn't necessarily what you guys like the most.
And I'm going to go with what the consensus is among the fan base.
But with that being said, that's going to do it for me today.
Folks, as always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland.
And this was Locked on.
Titans.
