Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans NEED PRIMETIME MATCHUP with Cam Ward Excitement & AFC South Divisional Quality
Episode Date: May 12, 2026The Tennessee Titans will see their 2026 schedule released this week and while it is hard to predict what the schedule could bring, the hope is there is one primetime game listed. Between the new jers...eys, new players and excitement centered around Cam Ward, the Titans have the hype to get one game this year after missing out last season. Not only that, but the AFC South is a good division with competitive teams making it easier for the NFL to get the Titans one primetime matchup against one of their rivals. The spice factor is high enough to make it worth it for the league. The Tennessee Titans schedule comes out this week,
and I'm here to tell you that they deserve at least one prime time game.
And I'll explain why on today's edition of Locked on Titans.
You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast,
part of the Locked on podcast network, your team every day.
Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast.
I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans.
Today's edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast is brought to you by Game Time.

I am going to tell you why the Titans' division is set up perfectly.
The Titans off-season is set up perfectly for them to have a prime time game after not having one last season.
Again, I think the Tennessee Titans are in a perfect spot here to get at least one.
prime time game.
Now, I'm not going to go crazy.
I'm not going to sit here and tell you that coming off a three-win season
and a coaching change and all those different things
that the Tennessee Titans deserve to have multiple prime-time games.
I am not going to be here to tell you that.
But dang it, they deserve one.
The Titans better have one prime-time game.
Like, they are good enough for that.
Think about everything that has happened for the Tennessee Titans
this all season.
new coaching staff, which Brian Gable, Robert Sala,
got a little bit more pop to him, I would say,
than Brian Callahan, new coaching staff, new players.
Cardell Tate in the draft,
all the free agency stuff the Titans did
with John Franklin Myers and Wondale Robinson,
Alante Taylor, Cordell Flott,
and all the movement traded for Jermaine Johnson,
like the Titans have done a lot
and gotten a lot of new players this all season.
So new coaches, new players, and the new jerseys,
the brand rollout, the new uniforms, the new helmet, all of that.
And then, if that wasn't good enough for you,
the Titans have the best interior defensive linemen in the entire NFL and Jeffrey Simmons,
which is 100% a draw, and Cam Ward.
Cam Ward is ready for prime time.
Cam Ward deserves to be on a national stage.
I know that Cam Ward's stats weren't incredible last season.
I get it.
They weren't.
The box score was not that great.
But turn on the tape and watch this dude make plays
with no wide receivers and the worst coaching in the NFL.
And he had the season that he had.
Now you have Cam Ward plus the new players,
plus better coaching and brand new uniforms
who didn't have a prime time game last season,
there is literally no excuse.
There's no excuse for the NFL
to not give the Titans a prime time game.
Like, they're in a great spot.
There's more pop with the Titans
and excitement around the Titans
than there has been in years, if we're honest.
Especially from a national perspective
because the jerseys will do that.
Cam Ward will.
do that. So you have a potential superstar quarterback, the best interior defensive linemen in the league,
an exciting coaching staff, a ton of new players, the new uniforms, the new stadiums come in next year,
and everybody knows that that's a thing. The city of Nashville has pop in and of itself.
Like, there are so many reasons why the Tennessee Titans deserve one.
They deserve one. Again, I'm not going to ask for a lot, but they deserve one.
And there are a lot of good opponents that could make sense in a primetime game for the Titans.
Like, there are multiple avenues with what we have on the schedule
where the Titans could get a prime time game, whether and again, make it on the road.
I don't care.
I want one prime time game.
Now, I will tell you, if I had my wish, which later on tonight,
I'm going to do my full 30-minute schedule wish list episode.
But why can't we have the nostalgic matchup
of Titans versus Jaguars on Thursday night football?
Why not?

Let's continue and cap off today's bonus edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast.
Again, the Tennessee Titans are ready for primetime.
Cam Ward is ready for prime time.
And I think they deserve at least one prime time game.
I just told you why I think they deserve that prime time game.
But now who could that game be against?
Well, again, I think part of the reason that the Titans are perfectly set up for a prime time game
is because of the division.
I think if the Titans get a prime time game,
it's most likely going to be in the AFC South.
And with the Colts being at minimum interesting,
the Jaguars being a good team,
the Texans being a good team,
the NFL can reasonably tell itself,
we are going to have the Titans on Thursday night football with Jacksonville.
We're going to have the Titans on Thursday night football with Houston.
And with Cam Ward, the new coaches, the New Jersey's,
players, everything I just said, plus
Jacksonville or Houston being a good team,
Indianapolis being a historic team,
that's spicy enough
to justify putting the Titans on prime time.
I think that is the argument.
Is that the AFC South is good enough
that even if you think the Titans are the worst team in the division,
they're an interesting team and the other teams are good.
Can I please have
Titans Jags Thursday night football.
I need it.
And keep this in mind.
The Titans are going to have their Nike rivalry jerseys
and the NFL might want to put the Titans new rivalry jerseys with Nike on prime time.
And the Titans' AFC South rivals also get a rivalry jersey.
So what better of a game to showcase the
rivalry jerseys, and go prime time,
then Jags Titans, like they used to do those full color rush uniforms.
I'm just saying, I miss those times, all right?
I look back at them fondly.
Give me Titans Jax.
Now I think, again, the Texans or Colts would make sense as well,
but I think Jacksonville makes the most sense out of the three division rivals.
I think putting the Titans up with somebody who is a, like a national powerhouse
that people like, you know, the giants are popular, the cowboys are popular,
the Steelers are popular, the Eagles are popular.
Maybe something like that would make sense because the reality is one of those big market
popular teams would have to carry the Titans in terms of, you know, excitement for the game
since the Titans are not, you know, a popular franchise.
So that could make some sense for the Titans as well.
But either way, they deserve one primetime game.
And again, later on tonight, I'm going to do my full-length effort.
on everything I want from the Titan schedule.
Who should they play first?
Who should they play last?
When's the buy week?
Who should they match up with prime time?
What would happen?
Early, late in the season.
All of that.
So make sure that you catch me there.
But that's going to do it for today's bonus edition of locked.
Or today's bonus edition.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland.
And this was Locked on Titans.
