Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans NO INTERNATIONAL GAMES is a Blessing in Disguise & Mike Borgonzi OVERHAULS Staff

Episode Date: May 13, 2026

The Tennessee Titans will have no international games for another season and that may be disappointing to some, but it is a blessing to keep their travel low and not throw a wrench into the middle of ...their season. The Titans need as minimal of distractions as possible this year. The Titans not only don't have a game out of country, but they also are on the low end of miles travelled this season, which can only be a benefit. Finally, when Chad Brinker exited the Titans front office we should have expected some additional changes and that's what we got when Mike Borgonzi made some moves to mold things to how he wants them.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop...   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LockedOnTitans   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 The Tennessee Titans got zero international games, and I think that's a great thing. I'll explain why on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked On Podcast Network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans on today's show. We are going to talk about how Mike Borganzi, shook up his front office after the exit of Chad Brinker, including getting rid of one very important
Starting point is 00:00:43 analytics person. But we got to start with the news that the Tennessee Titans will not get any international games this season. And again, I think that is a fantastic thing. And there are a couple of reasons why I think that's a good thing for the Titans. Now, I want to say this. I know that there are Titans fans who are in these locations, international fans, in Germany, and South America, Europe that would love the opportunity to go see the Tennessee Titans play in person. So I know that you're disappointed by this news and I'm not, you know, trying to, you know, be insensitive to a potential one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to see the Titans. But when I look at what I want for the Tennessee Titans and what's best for the team,
Starting point is 00:01:26 again, I'm happy and I think it's a good thing. They didn't get any international games because, number one, the travel. I mean, it's just a lot of miles to put on the human body. It can affect the Titans health, the safety, how the players have their longevity throughout the season. We have seen over and over that extensive travel can absolutely mount up on teams. So the Titans not having an international trip to add to that mileage, that can only be considered a good thing. There really is no advantage whatsoever from a competitive standpoint
Starting point is 00:01:57 from playing internationally. And really the only things that can happen are bad. Number one, like I just said, the increased miles on your body. Not only that, but it could just absolutely throw a wrench into the middle of your season. So you have, you know, a home game and then you've got to travel and then you're going to come back and disrupt your circadian rhythm because you're on a different time zone. And it's right in the middle of the season. And do you take your buy immediately after your international game?
Starting point is 00:02:24 And are you forced to use your buy early or do you wait? And then if you wait and you don't take your buy, because you don't want to use your buy as early as you play internationally, then maybe are you more tired the game after you get back from your international trip and then maybe you lose and maybe you wish you took you by and you know, there's a lot of things that can domino off of playing an international game and the Titans don't got to worry about that at all and that goes with the theme that I have been talking about for a few weeks now where I just want the Titans to be born.
Starting point is 00:02:57 I just want everything to, you know, so what, they don't get an international game. It doesn't mean international travel. Again, the wrench in the system, the bi-week complications that can come from that. So I don't really see a good reason why the Titans need to play an international game anytime soon. And look, after the Titans turn things around,
Starting point is 00:03:23 they're a better team, they're in a better place as an organization. Things are more smooth than they've been in the last two seasons with back-to-back years of three wins. then sure, send the Titans overseas. But another important factor here is that your overseas game could be a home game. And then you're losing a home game. And for the Titans this year who have nine away games
Starting point is 00:03:45 in their 17 games and only eight home games, if they were to lose one of those home games for an international matchup, that would be terrible. So I can't really think of a bad reason. I can't really think of a bad thing to come out of this news for the Titans, quite honestly, because there are only good reasons to not play internationally right now for the Titans. And look, again, even when the Titans are a better team, there aren't a lot of good reasons. But I just feel more comfortable about it if the Titans were a better football team.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Because, you know, it is a standalone game a lot of the time, which is exciting. Everybody's watching the team. You can get a big win. It can change the national narrative, create more excitement. and it gives the Titans international fans a chance to get closer to the team, which I'm certainly on board with. Again, I don't want it to seem like, you know, I want bad things from the international folks out there.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Like, I want you to see the team, but ultimately I want what's best for wins and losses for the team. And again, I think that not having any international games is what's best for the Titans in their life cycle as a team right now. But with that being said, we talk about the organization being in a good place. more changes are happening in the front office behind the scenes. I'll tell you what's going on. Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you by game time.

Again, we talked about why I think it's a good thing that the Tennessee Titans don't have any overseas games. But now I want to talk about the changes. that are happening in the Tennessee Titans front office. Tune in Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys. If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one. Tonight I'm going to do my ideal schedule for the Tennessee Titans
Starting point is 00:09:06 on tomorrow's bonus show. We're going to look at any updated leaks, rumors, whatever we're hearing about the Tennessee Titans. And then on Thursday night, I'll be going live about 9 p.m. Eastern after the dust settles to break down the Tennessee Titan schedule and make my win-lost predictions.
Starting point is 00:09:21 But make sure that you stay locked in with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world locked on Titans. The Tennessee Titans are making changes. After Chad Brinker exited, the Titans shuffled some things around, there are scouts moving up and down. New scouts have been hired.
Starting point is 00:09:37 People going from, you know, certain levels, promoted to area, national, regional scout. Mike Borganzi is essentially establishing the scouting staff the way that he wants. Certain people he wants in certain roles. The Titans have hired people from outside teams and things like that and made changes. But the biggest change that I think we're seeing, and this is important for two different reasons. Number one, I think it exemplifies the exit of Chad Brinker,
Starting point is 00:10:06 but it also leaves you with a little bit of concern. of the Titans fallen into a similar pattern. So Sarah Bailey. Sarah Bailey is an analytics head for the Titans was. She was let go by the Titans recently. She came from the Los Angeles Rams where she was a critical piece of their analytics department. Well, Chad Brinker, people believe,
Starting point is 00:10:30 was responsible for getting her hired away from the Rams to the Titans to lead his analytics department. So that's Sarah Bailey. excellent analytics person in the NFL. Well, it appears that Mike Borganzi isn't as interested in her services because she was let go by the Titans. And not quite in her place is head of analytics. But in a, what I've come to understand it as a similar role
Starting point is 00:11:04 is Bryce Wasserman. and here is where we get to where there should be just a touch of concern. Even if you are the most optimistic, even if you are the person out there that thinks the Titans are going undefeated and winning the Super Bowl every year,
Starting point is 00:11:26 even if that's you, you have to at least be a touch skeptical of the Bryce Wasserman hire who is now the Tennessee Titans chief of staff of football operations. Big promotion, who is Amy Adams Strunk's son-in-law. We're getting rid of people who have been a part of championship organizations
Starting point is 00:11:50 and getting rid of their roles and promoting the son-in-law of the owner to fill those spots. And I think that Bryce Wasserman, you know how Chad Brinker did like, you know, field management, data management. and the analytics staff and the turf staff and logistics, travel for the team, all these other things that the Titan said, we don't want our general manager worrying about that stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:21 We want our general manager focusing on the roster. So that's why we have Chad Brinker to do that stuff. Well, it's my understanding that basically Bryce Wasserman is going to start doing some of those things for Mike Borgesi. So maybe it works. not every nepotism situation is bad. Some people are very good, even though their, you know, families were in the business or they're related to somebody. Sometimes it works out. But just something to put a pin in and keep your eye on there.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Because the Titans have been criticized in the past for nepotism type moves. You know, always going buddy, buddy in the organization. There's clicks and things like that within the walls. And, you know, this is one of those internal politics situations that as fans, There's not really much we can do about it, but, you know, it definitely affects the team more than we want it to at the end of the day. But keep your eye on that as Mike Borgesi is reshaping things, and the Titans are trying to adjust after the Chad Brinker exit. But again, later on tonight,
Starting point is 00:13:26 my ideal Tennessee Titans schedule going to go week one to week 18, what I think it should look like, what I hope that it looks like, and then we'll be breaking down everything schedule related on Thursday when it all comes out.
