Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans OPEN TO LOVE -- Jeremiyah Love at the top of 2026 NFL Draft & Top Option Ranks

Episode Date: February 19, 2026

The Tennessee Titans have needs at premium positions and those should take precedent, but in this particular draft class, taking the best player possible also makes a lot of sense which means consider...ing a Jeremiyah Love or Caleb Downs is the most insane thing the Titans could do. Also, there happens to be a lot of depth at the three spots the Titans need the most, edge, cornerback and wide receiver. This means the Titans still would have a shot to get a great player at their needs spots even if it isn't the first round. Yes, the Titans need to hit their needs, but they simply need good football players too and the offensive line is good enough to make it worth it.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop/tictactitans-gear/C3AAPNWXSXA6SBYG3USV2I7R?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videos   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:01 I think the Tennessee Titans need to be open to love. Jeremiah Love in the first round of the NFL draft. I'll explain why on today's edition of Locked on Titans. Starting point is 00:00:40 in the first round of the NFL draft. And I'm going to tell you exactly why I think this is a unique draft to actually care about a non-premium position. Before we get into it, do want to thank you for making Locked-on Titans, your first listen each and every day. Starting point is 00:01:05 team every day speaking of every day shout up to my everydayers out there tuning in Monday through Friday couldn't do it without you guys if you aren't an everydayer you need to be one we have roster moves coming up very soon free agency less than a month away the draft right around the corner you want to stay as up to date as informed and as entertained as a Tennessee Titans fan could possibly be make sure that you stay locked in with the number one Tennessee Titans podcast in the world locked on Titans but with that being said again I think the Titans and all of us as Titans fans need to be open to love Jeremiah Love in the first round.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And I know what I'm going to hear immediately. A running back, the Titans can't afford to take a running back. And I understand. And I have been somebody who has preached on this show that running back is a non-premium position. Running backs are a dime a dozen. You can find running backs anywhere. But this is what it comes down to for me This is not a good first round in the NFL draft
Starting point is 00:02:09 Like when the Titans took Peter Skoronsky At Guard number 11 overall Do you normally want to take a guard In the first round? No, as a general rule you don't want to do that Linebacker Nose tackles Safeties
Starting point is 00:02:26 Interior offensive linemen Tight ends Like it just doesn't make a lot of sense to take these non-premium positions in the first round. I admit that. But in this particular draft class, like with Peter Skoronsky's particular draft class, there aren't a lot of elite talents.
Starting point is 00:02:44 I like Ruben Bain. I like Arvel Reese. I like Jordan Tyson. But none of those guys are elite prospects. They just aren't. And even though I would prefer and let me state it very clearly because some people are always, is going to take what I say and put words in my mouth and not understand what I'm trying to say.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I would still prefer. I'm not saying that I want them to take Jeremiah Love over all of these players. I prefer R. Val Rees. I prefer Ruben Bain. I prefer Jordan Tyson. No doubt about it. But what I'm saying is, if the Titans take Jeremiah Love at 4, if the Titans were to trade down to 8 to 9 to 10 to 12 and took Jeremiah Love.
Starting point is 00:03:39 I wouldn't be mad. That's the difference. I am not pounding the table saying go draft Jeremiah Love. I am saying I wouldn't be mad if that's what they did. Again, because you look at a guy like R. Val Reese, my number one player in the draft. But is he an offballbacker? Can he be an edge? That's another project.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Can the Titans afford to have another project edge rusher who's never been a full-time edge and might actually be an off-ball linebacker? If you wanted off-ball linebacker, wouldn't you be better off taking Sunny Stiles? Can the Titans take Ruben Bain, who will have under 31-inch arms? There has never been an edge rusher
Starting point is 00:04:22 in the history of the NFL with as short of arms as Ruben Bain who turned into an elite player. It's never happened before. You're asking for a lightning strike. You're asking for a unicorn moment. Can you bank on that? Jordan Tyson.
Starting point is 00:04:36 You guys know I love Jordan Tyson. He's my number one wide receiver in the draft by far. But he did have three major injuries. Now, I have talked about the context of those injuries and why I'm less concerned about it. But again, is Jordan Tyson the level of prospect that Malik Neighbors or Marvin Harrison Jr. or Roma Dunesay were? No. I would say if you put Jordan Tyson in the 24 NFL draft with those guys, he wouldn't be in the top three. He would not get taken in the top 10.
Starting point is 00:05:14 So when you think about it like that, the premium positions that I would still prefer aren't nearly the home run prospects that you would typically want. This is not a good first round of the draft, especially up at the top. And I mentioned this earlier this week. Just because there are 32 picks in the first round does not mean that there are 32 first round talents.
Starting point is 00:05:40 And especially at the top of the draft, I would say even Mendoza. Like, where would Mendoza go if he was in the 2024 draft with Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels and Drake May and Bo Nicks? You know, do you see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:06:00 Yes. I would be very against taking a running back that high in the draft. But in a draft class that doesn't have a lot of elite first round prospects, it kind of makes more sense than it typically would. And there's the other part of this of just draft good football players. Do you want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by Indeed. Welcome to the five hour energy flavor draft. We're looking at every aspect of the draft to let you know which tasty flavors are the
Starting point is 00:08:56 best and which just might be sleepers. The board is set, the flavors are ready, and only one is going to take the top spot. Five hour energy has a wide variety of flavors and there's something for everyone. Five hour energy shots give you the boost you need with zero sugar, which is something that's very important to me right now. My top pick from five hour energy is the grape flavor. You get the Concord grape flavor that's similar to like grape juice or candy. It's a soft, well-rounded sweetness.
Starting point is 00:09:27 It's smooth, almost syrup-like in the fruit profile. It's consistent, it's straightforward, the classic purple candy style finish that you love. If I'm looking for a sleeper though, I'm going with the peach mango. It's slightly richer mouthfeel than a citrus flavor. There's a sweet aromatic finish. It's got that balanced tropical blend. I absolutely love both of those flavors and I know you guys will too. Find your new favorite flavor of five-hour energy shots available online.
Starting point is 00:09:57 at 5, the number 5, Our Energy.com or on Amazon. Let's continue today's bonus edition of Locked on Titans. Hope you guys are enjoying these bonus editions that I've been putting out every day looking to keep that going throughout the rest of eternity, quite honestly. But thank you for making Locked on Titans
Starting point is 00:10:34 your first listen each and every day. Again, I think the Tennessee Titans need to be open to love here. I talked about the quality of the draft class at the top, why it kind of changes my view on the premium positions. But also, like I just said, take good football players. That's where I'm at with this first round. With all of the top guys in the first round, having more concerns than you would typically see,
Starting point is 00:11:02 just take good football players. Just take somebody who you know is going to be awesome at football. I'm not going to be mad about that. And again, I will reiterate because I already know what the comments are going to look like here. I already know what people are going to say. Why would you take a running back over? I'm not telling you that they should take a running back over an edge rusher or a wide receiver. I'm not saying that. I'm just telling you, I'm not going to be mad if they do. I'm not going to get on here and call it a bad pick and be
Starting point is 00:11:31 upset. If the Titans draft Jeremiah Love in the first round, I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be happy about that because he is a good football player. He has the ability to be an elite running back in the NFL. I've seen a lot of people compare him to a guy like Todd Gurley. I know Todd Gurley had the knee condition. That's not something that Jeremiah Love has to worry about. But Todd Gurley was literally elite and changed the Rams. So, like, and another thing that I would say with running backs is
Starting point is 00:12:00 you don't want to take a running back unless you feel good about your offensive line. Because offensive line play is more important to running back than the running back itself, in my opinion. But we saw the Titans at the end of the season. really start to open up some holes. And Tony Pollard missed some holes. Didn't make a few guys miss. I thought he should.
Starting point is 00:12:20 You guys know, I am not as high on Tony Pollard as some of you guys need to be. Back-to-back seasons of a thousand yards. So what? What does that mean? If, you know, if there was a better running back for the Titans, they would have got 1,500 yards.
Starting point is 00:12:35 So, like, don't tell me that 58 yards per game means that he's some special player the Titans can't move on from. Jeremiah Love would be a massive, upgrade. And then let me also say this. The rest of the draft is loaded at the Titans positions of need. Edge, wide receiver, cornerback. It's not a very good first round of the draft in terms of elite first round talents, but in the mid rounds on day three, edge, wide receiver, cornerback, there's a lot of good talent.
Starting point is 00:13:14 So if the Titans were to take a running back in the first round, that wouldn't preclude them from being able to get help at wide receiver, edge, and court. It wouldn't. So the final thing that I am going to say here, I'm just going to package it all up for you guys. Do I want the Titans to take Jeremiah Love? Is he my number one player on the board? No.
Starting point is 00:13:39 I would rather have Ruben Bain. I would rather have Arvel Reese. I would rather have Jordan Tyson. You could probably tell me that I'd rather have Mackay Lemon, David Bailey. I think I would have all six of those guys or five, whatever it happens to be, over Jeremiah Love.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I would take Jeremiah Love over Caleb Downs, though. I can't do the safety thing. I just can't take that. Unless they trade down. They trade down, take Caleb Downs, all right, fine. But I would still prefer those premium spots, but Jeremiah Love is going to be a dog and the Titans need more good football players.
Starting point is 00:14:18 And with the depth in the draft at the positions of need and with the Titans current state, I wouldn't be mad about it. That's really what it comes down to. I am open to love. Am I on hinge or am I on, what's the one that was really famous that blew up online dating? I didn't even use it so I couldn't tell you.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I can't remember swipe left. Tinder, Tinder. Am I on Tinder looking for love? and left and right. No. But if I see a nice lady at the grocery store, I might just approach because I'm open to love. So I just want you guys to keep an open mind here
Starting point is 00:14:58 about the paths that the Tennessee Titans can take. Again, am I going to pound the table for Jeremiah Love? No, but if the Titans add an elite level running back, am I going to be mad about it? No, I'm simply not because that can help Cam Ward a lot as well. But with that being said, that is going to do it for today's bonus edition of Locked on Titans. Thank you guys all so much for tuning in. Thumbs up on the video, tighten up down in the chat.
Starting point is 00:15:24 That's going to do it for me today, folks. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland. And this was Locked on Titans.
