Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans Pay Peter Skoronski BIGGEST DEAL EVER & Elic Ayomanor GOOD TO GO After Shoulder Hit
Episode Date: August 7, 2026The Tennessee Titans gave Peter Skoronski the biggest deal for a guard in NFL history on Friday in a well-deserved move. Skoronski has been well worth the pick and has blossomed into one of the best o...ffensive lineman in the NFL. Good news has been the theme of the day as reports of Elic Ayomanor's injury status came back positive. Ayomanor is "good to go" according to reports and Titans fans can take a sigh of relief after the camp star's scare. In other news, the Titans change their mascot's appearance and the reaction has been mostly negative. Tyler loves the change and thinks "T-Rac" looks a lot better and more appealing to the next wave of Titans fans even if the enraged adults online don't like it. Finally, with the "Bud Adams Bowl" taking place tonight, Cam Ward looks to continue his recent hot streak and make some plays for the fans at Nissan Stadium. The Tennessee Titans made Peter Skoronsky the highest paid guard in NFL history
and a deal that was well deserved and continued an excellent Friday for Tennessee Titans fans.
I'll break it all down on today's edition of Locked on Titans.

We have so much to discuss,
and it's only been half of what should be a great Friday
for Tennessee Titans fans.
We've got to talk about T-Rack and his redesign controversy.
We've got to talk about the great news on ELEC-Ile-Manner
shoulder, but we start with Peter Skoronsky's historic deal.
The deal that we have been waiting on all summer long, we got the Jeffrey Simmons one
done early, but now everybody's been wondering, are we going to get that Peter Skoronski
deal done before the season starts like we all wanted to see?
I think it is not a hot take.
It's not very spicy to say, Peter Skoronsky deserves this deal.
He is an excellent young guard, one of the top five guards in the NFL, in my opinion.
and I think based on all of the lists that have come out,
all the rankings from any source that you want to go to,
he's at minimum a top six or seven guard in the NFL.
I think he's top five, and I think after this season,
and if the Titans were to have some success on offense,
which factors into your ranking as a player, in my opinion.
You've got to have some sort of success or impact the game in some way.
So I think for the Titans to take a step forward as a team,
that is going to increase Peter Skoronsky's visibility as well,
and then Pro Bowls and all pros and winning seasons and good run games and great numbers and sacks
and pressures and all of that.
And then we have Peter Skoronsky for the next four or five years and he's one of the top
three guards in the NFL the entire time and it leads to a ton of winning.
I just think this is a perfect path that Peter Skoronsky is on right now and as the Titans
improve, he's going to get the flowers that he deserves.
But the money, I guess, at the end of the day is what he would probably take over the public
respect, right?
be paid for his performance.
And $25 million per year, $100 million contract for years,
as you guys have probably all seen by now.
That makes him the highest paid guard in NFL history.
Remember, Tyler Linderbaum from the Las Vegas Raiders,
got $27 million per season, which was the highest for an interior player.
But Peter Skoranski goes over Tyler Smith and Tray Smith,
the Kansas City is another guy. Matt Bergeron from the Atlanta Falcons got paid pretty good earlier.
We saw another deal recently. Oseuris Torrance for the Buffalo bills got paid.
So these guard deals started to kind of fall throughout the season,
and it made sense that Peter Skoronsky was next,
and he gets to the $25 million a year market.
Again, I think it's absolutely deserved what was eye-popping for me as $88 million,
guaranteed. That is a big time percentage, 88%.
I can do the math pretty easily when it's $100 million like that.
88% guaranteed right off the jump.
That's excellent for Pete.
Now, for salary cap purposes, I know that's going to be something that people want to know about.
This deal is an extension.
So this year is going to be the final year of his rookie contract.
This new deal will kick in next year.
But remember, the Tennessee Titans have $50 million in cap space right now.
but they haven't touched.
And they'll probably end up using maybe 10 to 15 million on different things.
But you can roll over cap space year to year in the NFL.
Now, there's a limit on how much and you can actually roll over.
You can't just roll over your whole cap from year to year.
You know what I mean?
There's a floor in the NFL where you have to spend enough money each year as well
because you have to be fair to the players.
But the Titans can roll over quite a bit of their money.
and Peter Skronsky's deal, if they want to front-load the contract structure
and make it more expensive early in the deal and less expensive later,
where maybe like Cam Ward's extension, Carnell Tate's extension, things like that,
start to kick in, J.C. Latham extension, if he earns that here in the next two years.
But if they front-load Peter Skoranski's contract right now where they have cap space
because they don't have young players on their team that they had to pay,
it's just the free agents that they got this year.
well, that could work out perfect that Peter Skronsky's deal starts to become less expensive
and more friendly to the cap as the Titans hopefully are extending the good young players
that we're seeing them draft right now.
So I think they could structure this in a perfect way where they, you know, bite the bullet,
but it's not going to affect the Titans this year with the salary cap.
That extension is going to kick in next year.
So Peter Skronsky is still on his rookie deal right now.
But again, with the $50 million in cap space, the Titans can roll over some of those minutes.
per se and help deal with a Peter Skoronsky extension when it does hit next year.
So I think they're perfectly fine from a financial perspective.
I think the deal is great and well-deserves.
Skoronsky is a great player and having that sort of building block on the left side of the line.
Hopefully J.C. Latham takes a step forward this year.
And that's the pillars that the Titans offensive line is built around.
Get a left tackle in the draft to be the long-term left tackle.
And now you can kind of have value at right guard and center.
You can have a veteran center like Austin Schlotman.
You can have a fourth round rookie like a Fernando Carmona, something like that.
You can have value players at those spots.
And it becomes easier to build a really good offensive line if you have three pillars in place.
And then you could go value guys at the other spots.
And because you're so good at those other three, it allows you to do that.
And that's a really good way to deal with the salary cap and what most NFL teams do.
You can't have five highly paid offensive linemen at the top of the market.
your budget just can't be used.
And that way you have to find some value at certain spots,
at least a couple of spots.
And Pete, Latham, hopefully a left tackle of the future.
Eventually, that can be the pillars.
All right.
And then we can have the value spots.
And it's easier to fill.
And we have less to worry about year in and year out.
You know what I mean?
Like it just makes the entire process easier
when you get those foundational pieces in place.
So Peter Skoronski is one of those.
The conversation about him being worth the draft pick,
Again, I talked a couple of weeks ago.
It's over.
You know, there are still people out there
who try to argue whether Pete was worth the 11th pick
and you don't take a guard that high
and, well, go look at that draft.
Look at some of the offensive linemen
that were picked after Peter Skronsky
and we, at the time,
we all knew that the Tennessee Titans needed an offensive line.
And I know that the offensive line
hasn't been good over the last few years,
but it would have been even worse
without Peter Skoronsky.
And now that we have Cam Ward in place,
and now that the team is looking to be more competitive
and there's more talent we're hoping to see more wins,
now his value just increases tenfold.
I think there's a chance.
You could look at Peter Skronsky's contract right now,
$25 million per year.
You could look at it and say that it's a team-friendly deal.
Like, I think Pete could have went for 26, 27,
right where Tyler Linderbaum was with the way that the cap is going up.
I don't think that that would have been a massive overpay.
or something. It would have been $26, $27 million per year.
I still would have been fine with it.
So I think Pete could have got that.
This is a team-friendly deal for a guy who hasn't been a part of a lot of winning
and could have strong-armed the team.
But he wants to win here.
President Pete, he wants to be a part of this.
So I look at that.
His loyalty to the team, his play throughout the dark ages,
how good he is relative to the NFL.
The guys who got drafted after him think,
Robert Jones is literally not even going to be a starter in Pittsburgh, potentially this year.
And everybody was arguing that the Titan should have taken him
because the tackle was more valuable than a guard.
I was a Peters Khoransky guy from day one.
I was pushing the Peter Skoransky agenda all throughout the end of that season
and throughout the draft process.
I never wavered.
I was a Peter Skoransky guy.
And it has paid off.
And it's funny, on a day when Tevondre sweat,
people in New York are talking about they think he weighs 400 pounds.
He's hurt, he's not in shape.
You know, they're worried about him behind the scenes.
They're talking about their fourth round rookie
might have to play over him.
On a day when Tevondre sweat is getting that kind of coverage
and Peter Skoranski is getting the biggest deal for a guard in NFL history.
You know, I know I'm not always right,
and I know I get stuff wrong.
but just funny to me how all that works out.
Nobody really remembers my Peter Skoransky takes
and how hard I went for Peter Skoransky,
but everybody remembers the Tavondre sweat thing.
Yeah, anyways.
With that being said, more good news on a Friday for Titans fans,
Elykeyo Manor injury update, and he is, quote, good to go.

Fans, let's continue today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
Again, we are talking about all of the good news coming out for the Titans this Friday.
Peter Skoranski gets a historic deal, well-deserved, very important for the Titans to get this done early on
and not a negative impact to the salary cap as things stand.
Now I want to move on to the other good news that we got on Friday,
and it is ELEC-I-O-Manor's injury update, quote, good to go.
dive into that. Do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans,
your first listen each and every day. Remember Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content
all year round, always for free. Make sure that you get subscribe, stay subscribed. It's your
team every day. Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there. Tuning in Monday
through Friday, couldn't do it without you guys. If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be
when the seasons around the corner and nobody is keeping you as up to date, as informed,
and as entertained as I am here on the Locked on Titans podcast. But with that being said,
according to Paul Kaharski, Elicayomanner's shoulder
checked out and he's good to go.
That's the report now.
The way that I read that because it's a little vague posting,
you know what I mean?
But his shoulder checked out,
which means there's no significant injury,
there's nothing that requires surgery,
you know, no massive shoulder separation,
dislocation, rotator cuff, collarbone,
any of these different shoulder-related things
that it could be AC joint sprain,
I'm guessing could potentially be something that he could play through and that would justify
as he checked out, he's good to go, but I'm hoping it's just nothing and it was just pain,
maybe a little bit of a stinger or something like that.
But either way, good to go, to me means that he's good to practice.
Now, I would tell you this, with the Bud Adams Bull happening later tonight,
and all of you guys keep asking me, is it going to be streamed?
Is there going to be play by play?
Well, I can tell you with absolute certainty, it's not going to be streamed,
like on YouTube or television so that we could watch it live.
They want it to be an experience for fans who come to the stadium.
That's what the entire purpose of the event is.
It would totally defeat the purpose for them to live stream it to the fans.
That's just a reality that out of state, out of city people have to accept about this kind of event.
But whether or not there will be radio play by play,
I'm holding out hope, but I doubt it.
I would give you like a 15% chance.
There would be play by play.
That's, we'll talk more about what I'm looking for in the Bud Adams Bowl and how Cam Ward is absolutely heating up right now later in the show.
But again, Elyke-Iomanner's shoulder being good to go. That's great.
It would just be so annoying, such a blow to the vibes for literally the MVP of Titans training camp so far to be injured and be out for the rest of the preseason.
And oh, they expect them back week two, week three, you know, it would just take the wind out of the sails.
And right now, for me, I'm just, and you know, every team, every fan on earth hopes for this for their team.
But I just want the positive momentum continue.
I don't want any major injuries.
I don't want any controversies, drama.
Like, that's why I'm so happy that the Peter Skoronsky deal is done.
I just want to focus on football.
I have such high hopes that the team's going to win some games this year.
I know that it's hard for you guys.
imagine after some of these losses
that you've got to come sit here and talk about those games.
Like, I'm never going to, I don't want to seem ungrateful for the job.
I love the job and I love talking Titans football,
but I'm just saying, can we get some wins, man?
It's hard in the middle of December when they've won three games
for the second year in a row to be like,
hi, welcome to Locked on Titans.
The team isn't good.
Congrats, you know?
I just feel like the team can win.
and I don't want something stupid or something annoying.
Like, I want the plane to get in the air.
If we get shot down in battle,
then we get shot down in battle.
We go out on our shield.
You know, we go out like warriors.
But if literally like we're going into the war
and the plane spinning and the blades explode
and we can't even get off the tarmac,
I mean, that is painful.
Like the, remember the Harold Landry, ACL?
Before, was it 2020?
Was it 2021?
Man, it's hard to remember.
sometimes with how long ago
all that stuff was it feels like now
but the Harold Landry injury
was so like
oh I cannot believe this
like literally the week before the season starts
that's the type of stuff I'm just
praying to the football gods every day I don't want
any of that you know and this
Elic I-O Manor thing kind of had the potential
to be that but we've
you know we've squirtered away again
final destination style we've squirtered away
thank you football gods
I am not ungrateful I will kiss
the altar of the football gods for that.
But just so happy, it didn't take the wind
out of the sails of the Elyke-I-O-Manner
experience in the training camp.
Now, I'm going to say this.
I do not think,
I do not think that they're going to
put Ely-O-Manner out there tonight
in the Bud Adams Bowl.
Whether he's good to go, he checks out,
he's whatever, I just think like
there could be some lingering pain.
I'm not a doctor. You know what I mean?
So I always say that when I talk about anything medical
because I don't want to be held to it.
if there's doctors in the chat ready to tell me that I'm wrong.
All right, but like, I just feel like anytime you bonk anything like that,
it can be sore.
And if there's soreness, you know, I just feel like there's more risk.
It's just not worth it.
You know, and there's a lot of wide receivers that the Titans can throw to
and the teams are going to be even.
And it's like, just let Iomman chill for the night.
And we got joint practices coming up with the 49ers.
We've got to be next to the electrical sub-station.
I'm already worried about that,
that cursed place, the cursed land of San Francisco
or wherever, Santa Clara,
wherever they play their football, who knows.
But you got to deal with that.
You got a pre-season game.
More intense joint practices that would like,
the season is basically here.
Like the football season has begun for their bodies.
He doesn't need to play in the team scrimmage.
So I don't expect to see him out there.
But great news.
nonetheless, that he is, quote, good to go and checked out.
Like, that is, with the Danmore thing, the Elyke-Iomanner thing,
I could not be more grateful to the football gods for keeping the Titans win in their sales right now.
So let's knock on wood and hope that continues.
Please, please, please.
I'm worshipping at the altar.
But with that being said, the Bud Adams Bowl is tonight.
T-Rack has changed his appearance and everybody's mad.
Cam Ward's on a heater. There is so much to talk about.
I don't even know where to begin.

And let's cap off today's edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast.
Again, bonus edition here on a Friday afternoon.
There's so much Titans news with Peter Skronsky getting paid.
Elyke-O-Manor's injury update had to come on here and be live with you guys before the
Bud Adams Bowl.
I plan on going live immediately after the Bud Adams Bowl later tonight too to talk about all
the highlights, everything we saw, what it means, and set up.
the week ahead, biggest week of Titans football
is coming ahead with joint practices in San Francisco
in our first preseason game, which is on Thursday,
early in the week, man.
We're getting it going.
But again, there is so much more still to talk about.
Thank you for tuning in, throw a thumbs up on the video,
throw a tighten up down in the chat.
Make sure you get subscribe, stay subscribed,
for a year-round free Tennessee Titans content.
But Cam Ward's on a heater right now, folks.
And that's what I'm most excited about with the Bud Adams Bowl tonight.
I want to see Cam Ward spinning.
that thing because it's starting to hit.
And what did I tell you guys
at the beginning of the week?
And some people got mad at me. A lot of you guys
understood exactly where I was coming from.
And like, I wasn't hating on Cornell Tater, Cam Ward.
I just said I wanted to see more.
I want to see the natural progression.
Everybody acts like I was saying that they were losing the battle
and they needed to get back to even when really they were at even
and I just wanted to see them go up the stairs.
wanted to see them continue to score and continue to soar.
You know what I mean?
And I'm not going to put any more rhymes in there.
But that's what I meant.
And I think a lot of you guys understood that.
And that is exactly what they did.
Listen to this from Jim Wyatt's observations on Tennessee Titans.com
from yesterday, Thursday's practice.
The offense got on a heater in a red zone period during the latter portion of practice.
And it might have been the best period for the offense so far in camp.
after quarterback Cam Ward connected with Carnell Tate for a touchdown,
which was a 20-yard go down the sideline, which the Titans posted,
thank you, admin.
He found tight-end Daniel Bellinger for a score two plays later,
which might have been a sack in a real game,
but was a tremendous throw that Cam Ward got off,
and it being a sack doesn't make the throw any less impressive.
Then on the very next play, Tage Spears scored on a touchdown run.
Ward wasn't done.
he rolled out and ran the ball in for a touchdown on the very next play.
Jim also continued saying defensive tackle, Jeffrey Simmons,
wasn't real happy with the play of the defense in this period
and let the defense know about it in so many words.
I found that part interesting, but Jim also put this about Cam Ward.
I thought it was one of Ward's best days of camp.
Ward completed eight of 11 passes in the session,
and I mentioned previously how he heated up in the red zone period.
Ward made plays with his arms and his legs and he looked poised,
even when he was barking at linebacker Cody Barton after a play late in practice.
I'm telling you guys, this is what we wanted to see.
This is what we, so what's happening.
The first week of camp, Cornell Tate Shell Shop.
NFL, he talked about it in an interview with NFL Network.
He said the talent level of everybody out here.
Like the cornerbacks he's going against,
when he was going to get,
the cornerbacks of Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Now he's going against Alante Taylor every day.
Cordell Flott.
Even Marcus Harris.
He'll put paws on you.
All right.
Like, Kevin Winston's out there
headhunting wide receivers.
You think Cardinal Tate's a little worried?
Shout out Kevin Winston.
We're going to love it in week one.
Everybody just hang, just hang.
But Cornell Tate, 65-yard touchdown on Tuesday.
Cardnell Tate, 20-yard touchdown in Red Zone.
A couple of catches.
Starting to make an impact every single day.
Starting to make a highlight every single day.
Cornell Tate is adjusting to the NFL right now.
And that's why I said I wanted to see more.
Not because he was doing bad,
but because as he adjust and as he gets more comfortable
and as he finds his legs,
I want to see that manifest and plays on the field.
And that is what is happening.
What I ask for is what they're giving us.
Cam Ward and Carnell Tate stepping up, showing more, having better days,
getting that connection, gaining that chemistry.
And I think there's going to be, you know, a transition period once we hit the regular season as well.
Like I think that'll matter too, but that's why they say growth isn't linear.
Because we could see a slow start to camp for Cornell Tate.
Oh, and then he picks it up rapidly.
And then we get into the regular season
and maybe it's a little slow early on
and then he picks it up rapidly in the middle of the season
like that's what we should expect
and when people say growth isn't linear
that is what they mean.
Like that's a oh up up a plateau a little bit
and you up up up up up up up up up up again and then plateau
that's usually how life goes and how growth works.
Not just on the uptick nonstop all the time.
So this is what I asked for.
This is literally exactly what I asked for
the first episode of this week
I said, I wanted to see more.
And they're giving it to us.
So hype. So hype, man.
Again, everything.
What a great Friday to be a Tennessee Titans fan.
Now, I will say this.
The only thing that people seem to have not liked on this lovely Friday
is the redesign of T-Rack, the Tennessee Titans mascot.
I did a video on a short video.
I love the redesign.
I think it looks awesome.
Like, I think it's perfect.
It's more modern.
It's more approachable.
The colors are way better with the jersey.
The poop brown.
I don't like brown colors.
Like, I don't like the browns jerseys other than just being classic.
I guess they're more orange than like brown.
But they have brown pants and stuff.
like that from time to time. But the color brown just does not do it for me. I like blacks and grays
and blues, cooler colors. I don't like earth tones like green and brown and beige and tan and like
my girl always makes fun of me because I don't like wearing those colors. I just don't like those
tones. I don't like earthy foods that are heavy and like I don't like peanut sauces and stuff like
that. You know, I only like butter chicken and Indian food because it's very, too much cinnamon. I'm not,
I like cinnamon, but too much. Cardamom, you know, stuff like that. It's just too much curry. I don't
really like that. You know, it's too much for me. I'm not an earthy guy and I'm not outdoorsy.
I don't camp. I don't hunt. I don't fish. You know, it's just not for me. So, uh, I like the water and
stuff like that. That's my outdoorsy thing. But anyway, we're definitely off track. It's definitely a
Friday bonus episode. But nonetheless, my point is,
I like the new T-RAC design.
And yes, it looks more cartoony. It's more cuddly.
It looks more like a stuffed animal than the previous
bandit-looking raccoon with the
superhero eye mask.
But I'm just like, most of the people who I see
upset about this are grown men my age,
online raging out. And it's just like
the Titans are worried. You know who needs to like?
the mascot and the way that it looks. Kids who are negative 3 to 7 right now.
Think about that. Like the Titans want children under 10 years old for the next 20 years.
So kids who aren't even born yet, that's who they're targeting with this design.
not the grumpy dude who's been at work all week
and can't wait to get off work
who's oh, I like the other T-Rat growing up.
Like, I'm that guy.
But at some point you have to like look at the phone
and be like, man, am I really mad?
Like I post my stuff.
I had a dude on Instagram
send me a thousand words in a car
and I'm just like, you're an adult
right now, a thousand words.
dissertation on a mascot change.
Like this is just, I'm not saying that you have to like it.
It's okay to be like, oh, I don't like the way that looks.
I'm not shaming you for that.
I am shaming the person who lets that actually upset them.
It's okay to say, uh, the new T-Rat design.
But people who are actually like mad at the franchise,
you're mad at your football team about it.
Like, that's just, you know,
the jerseys I can understand more.
The jerseys aren't...
I have not seriously thought about T-Rack
as part of my Tennessee Titans experience.
Maybe ever.
T-Rack's existence, what he wears, what he looks like,
that he's a trash-eating raccoon.
Has that for one single second
made me like or dislike being a Titans fan more?
And I would only imagine that it should if you have children and they don't like the mascot.
And if your kids don't like the mascot and don't want to be Titans fans anymore because they have a crummy mascot,
then checkmate you win.
But I'm just saying like the amount of frustration and anger and rage that I've seen for people over this minuscule change.
you know, I just don't understand it.
And quite honestly, you can call me whatever you want to call me.
I love the rebrand.
I love the new colors.
I love the new T-Rack design.
I love all the new secondary logos,
the white football with the TN in the middle,
the way it looks on merch.
When we saw the new rebrand,
my big thing was the merch is going to look so cool.
And to me, the Titans merchandise has way bigger of an impact.
on how I feel about being a fan,
than the raccoon mascot being brown or gray,
it's just like peak internet outrage culture
is what the reaction to the Titans mascot change today was.
It's like, think about how silly that would sound to somebody in the 90s.
If you said like, yeah, most people your age have been sitting around all day
being upset about a cartoon raccoon changing colors.
You know, like it's just something.
It's so crazy.
Like sentences that you would never think would be put together in the history of human beings.
And they're put together daily now.
You know, like, so with that in mind, I guess I'm just saying,
I think that the logo looks nasty.
This hat is incredible.
I love it.
This hoodie is nasty.
All of the T-shirts, the hats, the windbreakers, the jackets.
Like, they all look sick.
And I'm just like, get that hate out your heart, boy.
You know?
This team, this.
logo, the mascot.
We're going places.
Happy wins are in our sales.
Don't let this wonderful Friday where Pete got paid and Elyeo Manor isn't that hurt.
And we get the bud out in his bowl and Cam Ward's getting it rolling and we got a
carnal Tate and like, don't, you know, seriously let your happy Friday be ruined by
the mascot going from brown to gray and looking a little more approachable for the
kiddies.
You know, like, don't do that.
This is the best advice I can give you.
It's a great Friday to be a Titans fan.
Don't let the mascot thing change your mind.
But with that being said,
I'm expecting to be back after the Bud Adams Bowl.
So hoping to see some fun stuff there as well.
Tighten up, everybody, man.
I'm so excited for this season.
But that's going to do it for today's bonus episode.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland.
And this was Locked on Titans.
