Now, the Titans have the third pick on Day 2 and it i...s as important to their future as the first overall. Luther Burden, a dream target for Titans fans, still remains on the board, but Mike Green might actually be the troubled prospect the Titans want. Starting point is 00:00:00 Day one of the NFL draft is complete, but the Titans second pick might be their most important. I'm going to go over the best remaining prospects and some trade opportunities for the Titans on day two in today's bonus edition of Locked on Titan. You are locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the locked on podcast network, your team every day. Welcome to this bonus edition of the locked on Titans podcast. Recap in day one of the NFL draft. Looking ahead to day two for the Tennessee Titans. Again, the Cam Ward pick absolutely incredible and very important, but day two might be just as important for the Tennessee Titans. Are they going to trade down?
Starting point is 00:00:55 Are they going to stick and pick? There are some incredible prospects remaining including Luther Burden, who might be my perfect pairing for Cam Ward. But before we get into all of that, do want to thank you for making the locked on Titans podcast your first listen each and every day. Thanks for being an everyday. You're here with me Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day, but the Tennessee Titans take Cam Ward and then as we kind of expected them to do, they just
Starting point is 00:01:27 sit around for the next 31 picks. Watch the rest of the NFL go crazy. I cannot believe that the Atlanta Falcons made that crazy trade up with the first round pick to get James Pierce. I really don't like that the Jaguars came up and got Travis Hunter. That's a very good player, but nonetheless, happy that the Tennessee Titans get Cam up and got Travis Hunter. That's a very good player, but nonetheless, happy that the Tennessee Titans get Cam Warden. Now they have the third pick in the second round, pick number 35 before them in front of them. You have the Cleveland Browns at 33 and then the Houston Texans at 34. Now this is good and bad news. Number one, I
Starting point is 00:02:06 think it's kind of good news because there are two quarterbacks and Cheddar Sanders and Jalen Milro and even Tyler Shuck who you could include that are still on the board. That's great news for the Tennessee Titans because the Titans don't want a quarterback. If it went quarterback quarterback before the Titans, that would be ideal because then all of the position players that the Titans actually have their eyes on would still be available and it would be like they had the first pick.
Starting point is 00:02:32 So we should all be hoping that it goes Shitter Sanders, Jalen Milro and then the Titans can get their pick of the litter. However, you could look at it the other way. You could say it would be bad for the Titans for quarterbacks to go off the board because the Titans would be able to take advantage of a trade down if one of those quarterbacks still remained and a team wanted to come up and get them. Now, if two quarterbacks go and Tyler Shuck or Jalen Milrow or Shanur Sanders is the last quarterback remaining, then maybe that increases the value of the 35th pick.
Starting point is 00:03:06 So it could go a bunch of different ways. But here's all I know. All I know is there are some can't pass prospects still on the board for the Tennessee Titans right now. Like guys that I just don't think the Tennessee Titans can pass on. Number one on my list is Luther Burton. I've talked about Luther Burton so often throughout the process because he is just an electric fit with Cam Ward and the
Starting point is 00:03:34 style of player that Cam Ward is. Like the things that Cam Ward does best, the quick releases, the short to intermediate areas, getting the ball into playmaker's hands, the RPO game, all of that stuff, I think would fit perfectly with what Cam Ward is best at, getting the ball out of his hands. So Luther Burden still being on the board. The dream is alive, folks. We could potentially pair Cam Ward
Starting point is 00:03:58 with Luther Burden in this draft. It would be absolutely incredible. But I do have to say this. I think there's another player on the board who is a camp pass prospect who also has all field character concerns but I think it's the guy who the titans would actually take and it's Mike Green. Mike Green the edge rusher out of marshall I think he is by far the best player still on the board Mike Green I thought would go in the top 15 in the draft in the top 20 in the draft now It's clear that the NFL is saying hey
Starting point is 00:04:34 We have an issue with your off-field stuff because he is a top 15 talent Mike Green is a guy who has multiple allegations accusations of sexual assault in his past. Again, it's alleged. It's I don't know the legal ins and outs. I just know that NFL teams are absolutely spooked by the all field allegations that have been levied against Mike Green. So you're wondering, hey, if Luther burdens all field issues would mean
Starting point is 00:05:02 that the Titans wouldn't take him because it's bad for the culture, how could they take Mike Green? Well, the reality is, I think Mike Green is a way more valuable player to the Titans. I think the Titans value Mike Green on their board ahead of Luther Burden. I think the off-field concerns are one thing, but I think there might be some concerns with Luther Burden just as a football player along with the off-field stuff. His ability to run routes, his releases at the line of scrimmage, can he play against press? All of those things are real questions. So while I think that Luther Burden is a camp pass guy and would be a perfect pairing for the Tennessee Titans to put with Cam Ward, the reality here is I think if Mike Green is on the board at 35,
Starting point is 00:05:45 Mike Green is the pick. And now the Tennessee Titans get two top 15 overall talents at the two most important positions in all of football quarterback and edge rusher. Like I want Luther Burton as much as the next man, but if they pick Mike Green at 35, I would absolutely love that. And here's one thing to think about. If they pick Mike Green at 35, I would absolutely love that. And here's one thing to think about. The Cleveland Browns took Mason Graham, defensive line.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Are they going to take Mike Green? The Texans have Will Anderson, Daniella Hunter, Danico Autry. A ton of depth on the D-line, especially at edge. Are they going to take Mike Green? Probably not. Now, somebody could absolutely trade up in front of the Tennessee Titans. But again, if someone trades up in front of the Titans to get Mike Green, or the Browns take Mike Green and just say,
Starting point is 00:06:33 hey, we're all in on D-line, then that means the Texans aren't taking a quarterback. So even if the Texans trade out, if the Browns take Mike Green, the Texans trade out for someone coming up to get quarterback, That means one of Chedur Sanders, Jalen Milrow are going to be available at 35 and the Titans could absolutely leverage that into a trade back. So really with where the Titans are at, they could get Mike Green, they could get Luther Burton. They could be in a great position to trade back. no matter what you want to say or no matter how you want to slice it. This first round has been incredible for the Tennessee Titans.
Starting point is 00:07:11 You get Cam Ward and then to have this level of player and look there are other players on here who I think could be considered first round talents. Will Johnson the cornerback out of Michigan. I don't think he's a fit for the Titans because he's a big physical zone cornerback and I think the Titans want a little more versatility. But Will Johnson was a top 10 lock, a top five lock coming into the season. Now he ran a slow 40 time and there's injury concerns long term. So that's why he's dropping down the board. But that's a first round talent that the Titans could have at cornerback.
Starting point is 00:07:49 And then if Roger McCreary leaves in free agency after the year, if Legerrius Snead is just shot and his career with the Titans never gets on track, now you can have Will Johnson, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to build around. Will Johnson's a first round talent. Also, Nick Omanwory at safety is another guy who had some first round pop. You know, so like I think there are guys and I got another name for you that I think is a can't pass prospect and it might be a little bit shocking, but I don't really care. I got a hot take. So let's talk about all of the other options left because Burden, Mike Green, you know, Will Johnson, Nick O'Monwari, those are the obvious first round talents that are still on the board. But that doesn't mean that the Titans are going to take one of those guys. So let's dive even deeper into the options that remain and we'll talk trade options for the Titans

Let's continue today's bonus edition Let's continue today's bonus edition of the Locked on Titans podcast, Breaking Down. Everything that you need to know heading into day two for the Tennessee Titans. We talked my top prospects that are available, but now I want to get into some other guys that could be options for the Titans at big positions of need.
Starting point is 00:10:25 We're also going to talk trades at the end of the show before we continue. Thanks again for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day. If you're watching live on YouTube right now, let me know what prospect you want the Tennessee Titans to take at pick number 35. If you're listening in the morning on Friday morning, hit me up on Twitter and let me know at Tic Tac Titans. But with that being said, again, I'm going to go position by position here in the positions. I think make the most sense for the Titans edge rusher. We talked about Mike Green, but outside of Mike Green, who's a camp pass prospect at 35 for me, Donovan Azuracu out of Boston College. He's a speed rusher with incredible production. Look, he's not an insane athlete, um, a little undersized for what I think
Starting point is 00:11:25 the Titans won at six, three, two 48, but an incredibly productive player who some thought would go in the first round. Donovan as a rock who, if they pick him at 35, I'm not going to be upset. Jordan Birch out of Oregon is a big power edge, six foot four, two 79. All right. Big physical power edge, six foot four, two 79. All right. Big physical power edge. Uh, you got Nick Scowerton, another big physical power edge on a Texas A and M six three, two 57 guys who I really like, uh, Femiola Dejo out
Starting point is 00:11:56 of UCLA, Braden Swinson out of LSU, both guys who are just really good athletes who need a little more polish, but they have great length, great power, great size. Swinson is way more developed as a pass rusher. I would really like Braden Swinson. So those are all guys that make sense. Landon Jackson, Prince Leo, Mommy Ellen. I mean there are so many edge rushers here, but at pick 35 without a trade down, for me Mike Green and Donovan Ezoraku are the only For me, Mike Green and Donovan Ezraku are the only logical picks. Maybe Nick Scourton is a guy that I would put in there, but I would limit it to those guys. Green, Ezraku and Scourton. Scourton, I can never get it right.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Scourton, Nick Scourton. Those are the only three that I would like. If they pick them at 35, I'll be like, okay. All right. I'm with it. I get it. Moving to wide receiver though, other than Luther Burden, I don't really know that I feel comfortable taking any of these wide receivers.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Jaden Higgins is the only other one. If the Titans took Jaden Higgins, Luther Burden or Kyle Williams at 35, those are the three. Those are guys that would be like, all right, I get it. I get it. I would want burden, but if it's Higgins, six foot three, six foot four, 215 pounds really reminds me of Michael Pittman from the Colts, smooth route runner, good hands. Uh,
Starting point is 00:13:17 Kyle Williams is the guy who played with Kim ward at Washington state. He's five foot 10, 190. So a little bit smaller, but great speed, great route runner, reliable hands as well. Any of those three make sense, but the Titans could look for more gadget speedster type players like Jalen Noel out of Iowa State or Jalen Royals out of Utah State. Maybe they look for a Jack Besh who is kind of an in-betweeny six foot one, but a good route runner like Kyle Williams. Maybe they look for Trey Harris out of Ole Miss who has great size and speed at 6'2", 205, but needs real refinement with this route tree. He comes out of Ole Miss. So a lot of Tennessee Vols fans are listening. You know that Tennessee wide receivers are terrible route runners when
Starting point is 00:14:02 they come out of college because they don't run real routes, real route trees in Tennessee. Well, they don't do that at Ole Miss either. So you would really have to bet on your development of wide receivers to go with Trey Harris. But those are the wide receivers that I think make sense. Uh, in the next wave is Burden, of course, Kyle Williams, Jayden Higgins. That's the order I would have it in. Burden, of course, Kyle Williams, Jayden Higgins. That's the order I would have it in.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And then Jalen Noel, Jalen Royals, Jack Bash, and then Trey Harris. Honestly, I would take Savion Williams or Elec Aominoor over Trey Harris personally, but I wouldn't take those guys at 35 or this early. But that's looking at wide receiver. I want to give you guys my hot take. There is a player here that I would not pass on at number 35. And you guys are going to call me nuts.
Starting point is 00:14:54 And I may very well be. And you're going to say that it's Buckeye bias and it very well may be, but I would take Trayvon Henderson out of Ohio state, at pick number 35, a running back at 35. Are you nuts? You have Tony Pollard, you have Tajay Spears. Listen to me folks. Tony Pollard is probably not going to be on the Titans after this year. I don't think he will be.
Starting point is 00:15:21 I think they'll get rid of him. His body is breaking down. He can't be a bell cow back. If he's part of a three man arsenal at running back, he's not worth the money. They're going to pay him in year three. I think they're cutting Tony Pollard after the year. Tajay Spears. And even if they don't cut Tony Pollard, Tajay Spears was not able
Starting point is 00:15:39 to stay healthy last year. All right. And he's a smaller back who can't be a lead back in his own. Right. Trevion Henderson is far more explosive than both those guys. Trevion Henderson is a far better running back than both Tony Pollard and Tajay Spears, maybe not far better than Pollard, but he's better than both. And I will remind you that at the pre-draft press conference, Brian
Starting point is 00:16:04 Callahan talked about running back. And he said, yeah, there's a specific skill set that would fit best, but we need good players. We need good runners, any skill type. I'm telling you, I don't think they're going to do it, but I would take Trevion Henderson out of Ohio state and give a diner. I mean, he could be, I think Trevion Henderson is going to be like Jameer Gibbs. He's not going to be quite that good, but I think he's going to be a step just below
Starting point is 00:16:38 Jameer Gibbs as one of the most electric running backs in the NFL. Give me Trevion Henderson, man. Like telling you that's a camp pass prospect for me. of the most electric running backs in the NFL. Give me Trevion Henderson, man. Like tell you that's a camp pass prospect for me. So move it away from tight or from wide receiver running back and edge. I think we do got to talk about the interior defensive line. The Titans did a ton of work on interior defensive line before the draft. And this is the area of the draft last year where they took Tavondre Sweat. This is the area of the draft last year where the run on interior defensive lineman started.
Starting point is 00:17:12 And I think Darius Alexander out of Toledo, TJ Sanders out of South Carolina, Omar Norman Lott out of Tennessee, all guys that the Titans met with pre-draft. All. So I think those guys could be an interesting option at this point. Cornerback. I want to go back here. Will Johnson, Siobhan Ravel, Trey Amos, Benjamin Morrison, Azariah Thomas.
Starting point is 00:17:40 I think all of those dudes are going to get taken in the second round. So I know it sounds nuts, but like the Titan said, they're not going to draft for need. They're going to take the best player available on their board. And the best player available may very well be a cornerback. It may very well be a running back. It may very well be an interior defensive lineman. It may very well be an interior, I said interior offensive lineman, I meant defensive lineman, but may very well be an interior offensive lineman. Guys like Tate Ratledge, the guard out of Georgia, Wyatt Milam,
Starting point is 00:18:22 the interior offensive lineman out of West Virginia, Miles Frazier, the interior offensive lineman out of LSU. Jonah Savinaya is probably the highest ranked interior offensive lineman right now. I got to tell you, I wouldn't take it. I don't think he's a fit for the Titans. Jared Wilson, the center out of Georgia. You guys may think it's crazy, but Lloyd Cushingberry is coming back
Starting point is 00:18:44 from a torn Achilles All right, who knows we hope that he's ready. They said that he'll be ready for camp, but you can never truly know So would they do that? That's something to consider. I think there are a lot of options here for the Titans But overall I think with Donovan Azaraku And Mike Green on the board, I really do think that the Tennessee Titans find a way to go edge rusher here. Now, if the Titans don't pick at 35, it's because they traded down. And with where they're at right now, as we talked about earlier, there are a lot of opportunities
Starting point is 00:19:21 to find a trade partner if the Titans want to move down and I'm going to tell you who they are and tell you what kind of range might be looking at for the Titans to trade back into day two. Starting point is 00:20:38 It's a bonus reaction episode every single night of the NFL Draft. Friday night, Saturday after they finish, I'm going to be going live to recap everything that happened. And then on Sunday night, I'll have my normal episode out doing grades on the draft. We have so much content coming forward. I'm going to have film content on the film channel all week on the draftees. Cannot wait to dive into all of it with you guys, but we do need to focus on what's directly ahead of us. And that's day two of the draft. We talked about the best remaining prospects at all the positions. I think matter. My camp pass prospects. Now let's talk about some trade possibilities for
Starting point is 00:21:15 the Tennessee Titans. And obviously we talk about pick number 35 and the Titans trading down. So Titans trading down. So look at who remains on day two behind the Tennessee Titans. All right. The Browns are at pick 36. So the Browns have 33 and 36. What if the Browns go Mike Green and then they trade up with the Titans, one spot and give the Titans a third round pick for one spot. And then they take their quarterback.
Starting point is 00:21:48 I'm just saying the Raiders the Raiders still sit at 37. Okay, and the Raiders have Gino Smith, but Gino Smith is 35. So what if the Raiders want to go up and get Jalen Milro go up and get Chaudhuri Sanders? We know that Tom Brady is very fond of Shadr Sanders. Let him sit behind Geno Smith. They play in a dome in Vegas that doesn't, you know, the weather and stuff doesn't affect Shadr Sanders.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Perfect. The New Orleans Saints, the Saints sit at pick number 40. The Saints have multiple, they have 71 and 93, multiple third round picks that they could part ways with. The New York Jets sit at 42. They have Justin Fields. But wouldn't they love to get Jalen Milrow behind Justin Fields to develop? You go down even further. What about the Los Angeles Rams? The Rams made a trade, a big trade down. Alright, they got a bunch of extra capital and now they sit at 46. Maybe they want to come back up and get a Tyler Shook or, you know, get Jalen Milrow themselves.
Starting point is 00:23:01 And then the last team that I want to mention here is the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks sit at pick number 50. They also have pick number 52. They also have two picks in the third round. So they could give the Titans pick 50 and pick number, what do they have 80 something I believe it is. Yeah. Pick number 82 pick 50 and pick number 82 for pick number 35 And then the titans get one of those wide receivers. I talked about a kyle williams a jayden higgins A jaylen royals a jay jayden jayden was jaylen nowell They get one of those guys at pick 50
Starting point is 00:23:42 And they have picked 82 and then they can go back and get a Femiola Dejo or get a Landon Jackson or get a Nick Scowerton or get a Prince Leo Mommy Ellen at edge or get a Wyatt Milam or get a Tate Ratledge at guard or a Darius Alexander or a TJ Sanders or an Omar Norman lotter what have you like there are so many possibilities for the Tennessee Titans right now to make a trade back. It is wide open. Now again, there are camp pass prospects who I would not pass on. But at the end of the day, the Titans are trying to build a culture. And if you have Luther Burden and Mike Green, both guys with off-field problems,
Starting point is 00:24:21 is that the way you want to build the culture? Or would you rather trade back, maybe get somebody later in the draft at those spots and build it the right way? I mean, me, I'll take the talent. Like at the end of the day, talent wins. I think Mike Vrabel said it recently and I agree with him. If you could win an NFL championship with all good guys, then sure, but that ain't life. All right, some of these guys are a little rough around the edges. Some of these guys like to get in trouble. Quite frankly, if I was a draft prospect and I was 21 years old, I'd be off the
Starting point is 00:24:55 board because I was getting in a lot of trouble, more trouble than I think some of you guys realize I was getting into. So I can't hate. I learned my lesson last year with Tavondre Sweat. You never know what this all field stuff. It might not matter. So look, if we're not worried about that, I'm taking Mike Green. I'm taking Luther Burden again, Trevion Henderson can't pass prospect for me.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Those are my top three, uh, Donovan as a rock. Ooh, those are my top four can't pass, but man, there are a lot of good trade options here. Now I do want to also mention this. If the Titans sit at 35 and take one of these can't pass prospects, who's a first round talent on their board, then people are going to be like, wait a minute. Now, how are they going to find a way to get back in day three? Such a strong middle-class in this draft of just starting, starting level
Starting point is 00:25:44 players that aren't high upside guys. Like how are the Titans going to manage this? I think it's very likely the Titans could take pick 121 and one of their last three picks. They have 167, 178 and 18. Okay, so here's the Titans remaining picks. They have 35 and then they have 103 They have 120 they have 141 they have
Starting point is 00:26:11 167 178 and 188 so the types have seven picks left I Think they can take 103 and 167 they can take 120 and 167 they can take 120 and 167 they could take you know 103 and 141 103 and 120 if you're nasty and Make them move up into that last 30 picks last 25 picks
Starting point is 00:26:43 Of the third round. And now, and I think that would be my preferred method. I would rather the Titans stick and pick at 35 with the talent that's on the board and then use one of those day three picks, whatever, and package them together to move up. That's what I would do if I was the Tennessee Titans. If the right, if the right, maybe they do both. Maybe they move back 35 to 40 with the Saints. Pick up number 93 and then they use number 93 and number 167
Starting point is 00:27:19 and move up to 70. Like there are so many possibilities available for the Titans right now. If they're willing to get creative, if there are teams that are willing to help. And all I know is with the amount of talent that's still on the board with the quarterbacks that are still there. Sanders, Chuck, Milro, Howard, Ewers, McCord. Shook, Milro, Howard, Ewers, McCourt, and then Luther Burton, and then Mike Green, Donovan Ezraku, like these people being on the board is massive for the Titans.
Starting point is 00:27:57 No matter what, they're going to be in a good spot, whether they stick and pick or whether they get a trade back. So tons of possibilities. Again, cannot wait for day two. I'm going to be here with instant reactions for the pick at 35. I don't know if I'm going to go live with a full show after the pick at 35 because I want to wait and see if the Titans come back on to day two. So I'll probably do a one minute instant reaction video on pick number 35
Starting point is 00:28:24 and then go live at the end of the night to recap everything that happened and what to like this, what to look for on day three. But either way, tons of draft content all weekend long for me. Make sure you get subscribed. Stay subscribed. That's going to do it for today's bonus episode, though. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans. ["Locked on Titans"]
