Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans SHOULD NOT CUT Calvin Ridley, Let Chig Okonkwo WALK & Cam Ward COOKED the Seahawks

Episode Date: February 9, 2026

The Tennessee Titans desperately need to add wide receiver talent in the offseason, but that doesn't mean they need to lose talent as well by cutting Calvin Ridley. Ridley is certainly not worth the $...26 million he will cost in 2026, but the Titans have plenty of cap space and there aren't going to be a lot of good options available. Ridley is still a GOOD player when healthy and should be a part of the receiver room unless something drastically better becomes available. However, players like L'Jarius Sneed and Tony Pollard should be gone. There are quite a few in-house free agents for the Titans as well whose situations need to be resolved before free agency like Chig Okonkwo and Kevin Zeitler, but the Titans should let both of them walk while working to retain key depth pieces like Sebastian Joseph-Day and backup offensive linemen. Finally, the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl with a dominant defensive performance and two things should bring Titans fans hope. Cam Ward COOKED Seattle when they played this year and Mike MacDonald was the first defensive play caller to win as a head coach, giving hope for Robert Saleh to do so. LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/ Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop/tictactitans-gear/C3AAPNWXSXA6SBYG3USV2I7R?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videos Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 The Tennessee Titans should not cut Calvin Ridley, but I'll tell you who they should cut on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked on podcast network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans. Today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast is brought to you by Fandall, The winter games are on and there's no better way to follow them
Starting point is 00:00:37 than with a bet on Fandall. It's Fandle play your game on today's show. We are going to dive deeper into the Tennessee Titans roster management decisions. The Titans have to make some decisions on who they are going to cut, who they're not going to cut. And again, I think they should keep Calvin Ridley. Also, the Titans have a ton of in-house free agents
Starting point is 00:00:56 who need to either be re-signed or let go and I think they should let Chigaconquo walk away. Also, I was watching the Super Bowl. and it got me thinking about Cam Ward and Robert Sala and I'm pretty excited. Can't wait to dive into all that with you guys before we do. Do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans, your first listen each and every day. Remember, Monday through Friday, Tennessee Titans content all year round, always for free. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed.
Starting point is 00:01:23 It's your team every day. Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there. Tune in Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys. If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one. All of these decisions are going to be made soon. The Titans are going to cut guys. They're going to sign free agents.
Starting point is 00:01:38 They're going to draft guys in the NFL draft. And if you want to stay as up to date, as informed, and as entertained as a Tennessee Titans fan could possibly be, make sure that you stay locked in with the Locked-on Titans podcast. But with that being said, again, the Tennessee Titans should not cut Calvin Ridley. I know that he is a prime option to be cut. I understand why it makes sense.
Starting point is 00:02:02 When you start to look at the cut candidates for the Tennessee Titans, Calvin Ridley can save them the most money of any player. They'll save $13 million if they cut Calvin Ridley, but they also have $13 million of dead money associated with Calvin Ridley if they cut him. And look, I'm going to be the first to tell you, $26 million for Calvin Ridley in the big 2026 is not good value. Calvin Ridley is not worth $26 million on the $1,000.
Starting point is 00:02:32 the salary cap. But what I will continue to come back to is the Tennessee Titans don't need that extra $13 million. They're already rich. They have $100 million in cap space. There's just no reason to cut Calvin Ridley for extra money when there are other players that you can cut in other ways to do it. And here's the biggest thing of all. The Titans need talent at wide receiver. Look at the free agent market right now. George Pickens, probably going to be tagged.
Starting point is 00:03:02 and then maybe traded. The Titans shouldn't be out here trading for George Pickens. Alec Pierce, probably going to get re-signed back to the Indianapolis Colts. I hope that Michael Pittman Jr. becomes available, but they may restructure his contract and then not cut him at all. Then you're talking about Romeo Dobbs or Wondale Robinson, and Wondale Robinson is rumored to already be working on an extension with the New York Giants. He may not be available.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Joanne Jennings, do I want to pay $18, $20 million a year? for Romeo Dobbs or Joanne Jennings when I could just keep Calvin Ridley for 26 million? Like, I don't understand how there is a massive upgrade there. Here's the reality. Calvin Ridley was hurt last year. He had some drops early in the season, and people are just sick and tired of him.
Starting point is 00:03:51 People are very fickle. But the reality is Calvin Ridley had 1,000 yards with Mason Rudolph and Will Levis and Brian Callahan's first year, and he only had four drops. all year last year, which in reality is not that many. Now, it's only in seven games, so I understand that people can use the per game right there, the drop right there. It wasn't great. He's had some drop issues throughout his career.
Starting point is 00:04:13 But again, the Titans need talent at wide receiver. And if there aren't gonna be any good wide receivers in free agency, and the Titans are likely gonna go with an edge player at number four in the draft and not take a wide receiver in the first round, well, why would you let Calvin Ridley go for nothing? You don't need the money You have enough money There's no reason to do it And at the end of the day
Starting point is 00:04:37 Would it be the worst thing ever If the Titans got one of these guys in free agency Got somebody in the first three rounds of the draft And had Calvin Ridley Like again the only reason that you cut Calvin Ridley is because you need the money That he will save you But the Titans don't need it
Starting point is 00:04:52 So the better option Would be to keep a talented wide receiver With speed And if you're not looking at Calvin Ridley And going He's our number one wide receiver. He has to be the number one wide receiver. If the expectations are lower, Calvin Ridley's still a good player. He's still a top 30, top 40, top 50 wide receiver
Starting point is 00:05:11 in the NFL. I would say he's top 40 guaranteed, probably still top 30, top 35. Why would you, if you're a team that is desperate for wide receiver talent, if you can't get a number one alpha wide receiver this off season, then you're better off having as many number twos and number threes as you possibly can. So why not just keep a talented player on the roster knowing that, hey, we probably can't rely on him as much as we thought we could going into last year. But that doesn't mean that he's useless. And I will continue to bring this up. He played for Brian Dable's offense at Alabama in 2017. So there is a connection there. They know how to use Calvin Reddy. They understand his talents.
Starting point is 00:05:52 I just don't think that you have to make that move. Now, if somebody becomes available and you do need the money, you're going to make a big time trade. Let's say the Titans do trade for Garrett Wilson or Marvin Harrison Jr. or DJ Moore or something like that. And they're like, all right, we can't have him and Calvin Ridley's contract. Then sure. But if free agency at wide receiver is going to look the way that it looks like it's going to be right now and you're probably going to go defense in the first round of the draft,
Starting point is 00:06:22 why would you cut Calvin Ridley just to do it? It doesn't make any sense to me. They don't need the money. He's still a talented player You can't rely on him as much as you thought you could But Cam Ward needs as many weapons as he could possibly have And cutting Calvin Ridley for no reason at all Doesn't make any sense
Starting point is 00:06:39 Now the other cut candidates though Legerius Sneed will be cut Just plain out simple He's gonna save the Titans $12 million It's gonna cause him $8 million in dead money But Legerius Sneed will be cut By March the 15th I would put my life on it
Starting point is 00:06:57 All right. Now, Tony Pollard. Some of you guys do not want to see Tony Pollard. Get cut. I get it. He ran for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons, and to some of you guys, that's important. But a thousand yards is 58 rushing yards a game. I'm sorry, 58 rushing yards a game.
Starting point is 00:07:16 It's not that important. And I will continue to say that Tony Pollard needs to go back to being a number two running back for a team. He cannot be the lead back anymore. All right. And for $9 million, that's lead back money. They're not paying $9 million for Tony Pollard. You cut Tony Pollard, you save $7 million. You only have $2 million in dead money.
Starting point is 00:07:40 And then you go out and get a replacement for cheap, and you draft somebody, and you keep Tadge Spears in the running back two role that he's supposed to be in all along. All right? Tony Pollard's 1,000 yards back to back. You guys say that to me all the time. Like that some impressive feat.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And I'm sorry, doing good on terrible Titans teams because Taji Spears was hurt all the time that doesn't mean that you're worth $10 million on the cap. He's simply not. All right, they're going to cut him. They need to cut him. And they need to go out and get a real power back
Starting point is 00:08:11 that can run on the goal line and run in short yardage and then a power back, which I've mentioned my options, Tyler Algier, Rashad White, Brian Robinson, all options. Get somebody like that. Or if you want to spend up, fine. Get Brees Hall. Fine. I'm fine with that. At least he's talented enough
Starting point is 00:08:28 to justify the price tag rather than Pollard who is mid of the mid and still getting 10 million this year. No way. So you do that in free agency and then you go draft a running back in the mid rounds as well. That's what the Titans should do. They have they should have three viable running backs. Free agency, Taj Spears and the draft. That should be the plan going forward. So I am cutting Tony Pollard. After that, I'm going to cut Xavier Woods. You're going to save $4 million. It's only $1 million in dead money.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Xavier Woods is simply a depth safety. He's just another guy. He's easily replaceable. I would go out and get somebody who's more familiar with Robert Salas' defensive scheme like Jason Pinnock is the name that I'm going to keep going back to. Safety is a dime a dozen. You can find safeties anywhere.
Starting point is 00:09:16 There's always a ton of safeties in free agency. It's a really good safety class in the draft. You simply don't need to keep Xavier Woods around for $5 million. Go ahead and move on. Now, some guys who I'm not going to cut. Number one is Lloyd Cushenberry. All right. He's only going to save you.
Starting point is 00:09:35 He's only going to save you. $3.4 million. Graphics a little messed up. Forgive me. $3.4 million is how much you're going to save on Lloyd Cushenberry. $9 million in dead money. All right. Is Lloyd Cushenberry,
Starting point is 00:09:51 panning out as a signing that we all hoped would happen. No, not right now. It was an up and down season for him coming back from the Achilles tear. He had the Achilles tear in year one. But here's the truth. Usually, with major lower body injuries, like an Achilles, like an ACL. A guy is significantly better, a year removed.
Starting point is 00:10:13 And Cush, after he came back, was able to stay healthy for most of the year. A couple of games of CORE 11 in there, but Cush was able to play. There's no financial reason to cut Lloyd Cushingberry unless you're going to go sign Tyler Lindenbaum, which I don't think the Titans are going to do, and I don't think they should do. All right. So, I'm going to keep Lloyd Cushenberry, not take $9 million of dead money and only save three just for funsies,
Starting point is 00:10:39 bring Lloyd Cushenberry back, let this offensive line have some chemistry, draft a guy, sign a guy who might be able to take over for him after the year, but now is not the time. In 2027, there's only $4.5 million of dead money and $12 million saved when you cut Lloyd Cushingberry. Keep them around for another year. And finally, Cody Barton. Look, I don't think that Cody Barton fits
Starting point is 00:11:02 Robert Salas' defensive scheme. I don't think that Cody Barton is particularly a good player. But at the end of the day, this is one of those spots where it's going to be difficult to fix every single position and get studs at every single position all on the roster. You cut Cody Barton, you got $5 million in dead money, and you only save $3 million. He's only $8 million on the salary cap for a veteran linebacker who could teach the system, who can support the young guys, maybe you draft another young linebacker.
Starting point is 00:11:34 James Williams might be able to take his spot with the tutelage of Robert Sala. But again, financially speaking, it just doesn't make a ton of sense. Now, I want to say this. A lot of you guys are going to say, Dan Moore, cut Dan Moore. If the Titans cut Dan Moore, not only do they not save anything, they lose $5 million on top of the 26 million he's already hit. So the Titans would literally lose $31 million of value to cut Dan Moore. It's not happening, folks.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Dan Moore is going to be on the Titans for at least one more season. But with that being said, let me know who you would cut, who you wouldn't cut. Now it's time to talk about who the Titans need to bring back and who they should let walk in free agency. and of course, I think they need to say goodbye to Chigacanquil. Do you want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by FanDuel Sportsbook. Look, the winter games are officially here. I've been watching them all morning.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And if you're anything like me, you're locking in for the events that you only get to see on the big stage every four years. And that's why the winter games are on Fan Duel, and it just makes sense from metal counts to individual events, to finding your angle on the sports that you care about the most, Fandall gives you more ways to stay connected to the action. The drama of curling matches that start slow, but somehow get intense fast, speed skating races,
Starting point is 00:13:01 decided by inches, hockey games that feel different right from the opening face-off. Every niche event becomes must-watch when you're fully locked into the competition and Fandle keeps the entire Olympic experience engaging from start to finish. The winner games are on, and there's no better way to follow them than on fan duel sportsbook. It's Fandle. Play your game.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And let's continue today's edition of the Locked-on Titans podcast. We talked about the cut candidates for the Tennessee Titans. I'm going to cut Legerius Sneed. I'm going to cut Tony Pollard. I'm going to cut Xavier Woods. But I'm not going to cut Calvin Ridley, Lloyd Cushenberry, or Cody Barton. Now, as we get into the Tennessee Titans in a lot of, house free agents. We gotta talk about who they need to re-sign and who they need to let walk.
Starting point is 00:14:09 And I'm gonna go through the list here and I know that not all of you guys agree with all of these decisions, but at the end of the day, I think this is the smartest way to handle it. Let me know your thoughts down below in the comments or hit me up on social media and tell me what you think. But if I'm the Titans, Chigaconquil, I'm letting him walk. I've talked about it, ad nauseum at this point, but Brian Day, system requires two traditional tight ends. All right. Not a pseudo wide receiver in Chigaconquo. And I've hammered this point home so I'm not gonna spend forever here. But my issues with Chigacanquo, he is the worst blocking tight end in the entire NFL
Starting point is 00:14:53 Two years in a row the lowest graded run blocking tight end in the NFL per pro football focus and it's not just PFF. I watch the film I watched the tape. I've seen every single game that Chigacanquo has ever played. He matches the grade. He is a terrible blocker. The Titans try to set him up on the end of the line of scrimmage. He can't block defensive ends. He can't block outside linebackers.
Starting point is 00:15:17 He struggles with defensive backs. They try to use them as a puller on some of the GH stuff and he can't kick anybody out. He's not strong enough. And you guys always yell at me and you say, well, let him play wide receiver then. Guys, if he could play wide receiver, he would be a wide receiver. Why does he not play wide receiver?
Starting point is 00:15:38 Ask yourself that. They didn't put him at tight end because it was just fun. Let's try it out. They have him at tight end and he played tight end in college because he can't do wide receiver stuff. He's not quick enough. He doesn't run good routes. And everybody's mad at Calvin Ridley
Starting point is 00:15:57 for dropping some passes when Chigacanquo has had lead hands his entire career. How can you be mad at Calvin Ridley for dropping the ball and then sit here and tell me you want to bring back Chigacanquo? And then everybody says, oh well, he led the Titans in receiving last year. Okay, well, the Titans had the worst receiving group of weapons in the entire NFL.
Starting point is 00:16:21 That's why. All right, just because you're the shiniest turd in the bowl doesn't mean that you're not a turd. All right. So doesn't fit the scheme is a super limited player I'm out Let him go
Starting point is 00:16:37 Now listen Here is what I will say If the Titans Want to go out and sign Daniel Bellinger If Dawson Knox becomes available They want to bring in Adam Troutman Something like that
Starting point is 00:16:50 And then they also With all this money that they have Want to bring back Chigaconquo And use him in a limited role as a tight end two and a half. Okay, I'm fine with that. Sure, but we're not breaking the bank and paying $10 million a year for Chica Conquo.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I'm sorry, it's just not happening. They should not do it. They won't do it. I'm out on Chica Conquo. If he wants to come back for pennies, then sure. But other than that, I think it's just, it's time to move on from a super limited player.
Starting point is 00:17:21 But moving forward, the next guy is Kevin Zitler. Zitler was an interesting, choice. He had some okay moments throughout the season, but the Titans just need to get younger at guard. I talked about a guy like Dylan Parham. I talked about a guy like Wyatt Teller. There were some other options that we're going to talk about on tomorrow show where we truly break down, you know, all of my thoughts on each individual position in free agency and what the Titans should do. But Zytler is 35 years old. He started breaking down at the end of the season.
Starting point is 00:17:55 he was hurt, it's just time to get younger, it's time to move on, it didn't work. Let Kevin Zitler go, okay? I would bring back Corey Levin, though. Levin is a very good depth player, very good backup, and quite frankly, he had some moments that were better than Lloyd Cushingberry last year. So if Cushenberry's struggles again, you got a guy like Corey Levin that you can slide right in there. I'd bring back Oli Udo as well.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Udo is a backup offensive tackle. Let's not make any mistake about it. But he filled in Adrimbley at right tackle when J.C. Latham was hurt. Like, he wasn't an absolute disgrace. He was better than Dennis Daley and Nicholas Petit Ferreier and Andre Dillard and all these other backup level offensive tackles that the Titans have had over the last few years. So I would bring Oliudo back. Bryce Oliver is an exclusive rights free agent.
Starting point is 00:18:44 That means the Titans are the only team that has the ability to negotiate with him unless they release his rights. I would bring back Bryce Oliver. he basically has no choice is how that works. So bring back Bryce Oliver, sure. It's going to be a $1 million deal. Why not? Julius Chestnut, Brandon Allen, buy.
Starting point is 00:19:03 See ya. Get out of my face. Brandon Allen played his role. He was meant to be a teacher for Cam Ward, teaching Brian Callahan system. If Cam Ward gets hurt, the Titans want to lose, he played his role. He did his job.
Starting point is 00:19:18 But now, as I'm going to talk about more tomorrow when I look at the actual free agent, options at backup quarterback. Now is the time to get a real backup quarterback in there because the Titans need to win. If Cam Ward were to be banged up at all for a couple of weeks, God forbid, knock on wood, you know, he were to have a serious injury.
Starting point is 00:19:38 The Titans need a real backup quarterback that can come in and steer the ship. That ain't Brandon Allen, as we've seen. Chestnut, I've been talking about Julius Chestnut being a roster pirate for years. This dude is not good. He's a practice squad level player. The Titans have given more opportunities than he ever even deserved. Let's get some real running backs in here who could actually carry the ball and play
Starting point is 00:20:01 if there are injuries up top. Now, that's the offense. Move to the defense. Arden Key, see ya. I'm so sick of Arden Key. But I will tell you, Arden Key revived his career in San Francisco. He is a big-bodied, long edge rusher.
Starting point is 00:20:18 If the Titans can't find anything in the high, end of the market in free agency. I wouldn't be shocked to see Arden Key back, but I don't want him back. I would let him walk. Sebastian Joseph Day is a must bring back to me. He fits perfectly in Robert Salas defense as a penetrator. He could play three tech. He can play one tech. He can play five tech all up and down the line. Sounds like Sebastian Joseph Day from his comments on Twitter wants to come back to Tennessee. I pounded the table to bring SJD back last year. He had a really good as a depth player on the defensive line. I want SJD back this year as well.
Starting point is 00:20:56 He's a perfect fit. James Lynch, another guy. Yeah, he's a depth player. He's a backup. He's not a game changer. You could replace him with 100 other guys in the NFL, sure. But he fills his role fine. He's just a good interior depth
Starting point is 00:21:11 defensive lineman. It's just that simple. Like, it's not, he's not a world beater. He's not going to change the game. He's not going to change the game. He's not going to change the roster fundamentally or anything like that. But he's just a solid depth player who you could do worse.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I feel the same about Daryl Baker Jr. Is Daryl Baker Jr. a starting cornerback in the NFL? No. But he's filled in admirably during his time with the Titans and had good moments. If he is your fourth or fifth cornerback, you're not doing all that bad. Now, for the specialist, Joey Sly, I'll bring him back. He was okay this year and his leg was a weapon because he does have distance. Johnny Hecker has to go, though.
Starting point is 00:21:53 He was terrible this year. No power. His accuracy was off. That was a bones fossil guy, and I hope they do the right thing and move on. Morgan Cox is the Tennessee Titans long snapper. He's incredible. Never messes up.
Starting point is 00:22:07 I don't care how old he is. He could be 45. If Morgan Cox was to come back and play and be the long snapper for the Titans, I'm bringing him back. It's truly that simple. Let me know who you want to re-sign, who you don't want to re-sign,
Starting point is 00:22:21 But now I've got to give you some of my Super Bowl thoughts because Cam Ward and Robert Salah I think are big winners coming out of the Super Bowl. Today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast. Again, we were doing roster management decisions. The Titans have to make sure that their house is in order before they go out to the grocery store to get new players. We did the cut candidates.
Starting point is 00:24:14 We did the re-signed candidates. Now, I want to talk about the Super Bowl, all right? Because I think there are two big things, two big takeaways that I have for the Titans coming out of the Super Bowl. Number one, Cam Ward. All right? Cam Ward is in a great spot and is going to be just fine.
Starting point is 00:24:34 And number two, Seattle winning is good news for Robert Sala. Now before I tell you why I feel like that, do want to thank you again for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day. Make sure that you join the Locked on Titans Every Dayer Club. Starting point is 00:25:34 It's a great deal of some bonus content. check out the Locked-on Titans every day or club. But with that being said, Cam Ward cooked the Seattle Seahawks. We just saw Drake May look absolutely pitiful for three and a half quarters. The Patriots offense couldn't do crap, and let's call it what it is. Drake May has more weapons and better coaching than Cam Ward did last year. Josh McDaniels may be a jerk who nobody wants around,
Starting point is 00:26:04 but he's a good offensive coach. Kisham Booty and Sam Booty and Sam Ward did last year. Stefan Diggs and Pop Douglas and Kyle Williams and Trayon Henderson and Ramandre Stevenson and Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper and Mack Hollins like that's not a great group I'm not going to sit here and tell you that's a fantastic group or anything but it's better than what the Titans had around Cam Ward it's not even close and Cam Ward if you recall went 28 to 42, 22, 256 passing yards 37,000. rushing yards and a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown.
Starting point is 00:26:42 He had no turnover worthy plays in the game and had a 91 passer rating. Cam Ward was awesome against the Seattle Seahawks. And I saw a chart that was like EPA per play, which is expected points added per play. It's just an analytical metric of success. But Cam Ward had a top six performance against the Seattle Seahawks defense of any quarterback in the NFL all year long. Out of all the games that the Seahawks played in the playoffs, in the regular season,
Starting point is 00:27:15 Cam Ward had a top six performance against them with all of the crap around Cam Ward that we're talking about. And Matthew Stafford was two of those performances. And Matthew Stafford was the MVP. It just makes me think about the Titans schedule. The Titans literally played all of the best teams in the NFL. They played the Texans. They played the Chargers.
Starting point is 00:27:41 They played the Patriots. They played the Broncos. They played the Seahawks. They played the Rams. They played the San Francisco 49ers. Like the Titans had to play a juggernaut schedule. So it just brings me back to like Cam Ward is good. Okay?
Starting point is 00:28:00 Don't let the haters, the box score watchers, the non-ball knowers. Don't let them influence you or make you feel bad or whatever. Cam Ward is good at football. He is going to be one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. I'm not telling you he's going to be elite like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, but... But Cam Ward can absolutely be as good or better than Sam Donald.
Starting point is 00:28:24 He could be right there with Baker Mayfield, with Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Jalen Hertz, Jordan Love. Come on, man. Cam Ward can be just as good as those guys. Caleb Williams, Drake May. get this man some weapons. Let the offensive line gel. Get him real coaching.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Like, I just came out of that Super Bowl thinking, man, Cam Ward cooked these boys a little bit. I ain't worried about Cam Ward, man. We got to fix the rest of the roster. The Titans got one in Cam Ward. So that was one of my big takeaways. And Robert Sala. Mike McDonald is the first head coach.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And I had a hard time believe in this. I didn't think it was true when I first saw it. But I've seen enough people confirm it at this point. It's hard to believe. But Mike McDonald, the coach of the Seattle Seahawks, is the first coach ever to win the Super Bowl while also calling defensive plays. I'm not saying he's the first defensive-minded head coach
Starting point is 00:29:30 to win a Super Bowl because Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin and like obviously there are other guys. But he is the first head coach to win the Super Bowl while also being the defensive play caller. And Robert Sala is about to be the defensive play caller for the Titans. So, Cam Ward had one of the best performances against this Seattle Seahawks defense that any quarterback had all year,
Starting point is 00:29:59 which proves to me once again he can play with these boys. And two, Robert Sala, can follow in the footsteps of Mike McDonald. And Mike McDonald shows you it is possible for a defensive play calling head coach to win a Super Bowl. And I have to say this. I talked about it unlocked on NFL, but I'm going to mention it here.
Starting point is 00:30:25 The Patriots are frauds. I hope Mike Vrable enjoyed the Mickey Mouse run. Drake May showed that he's nowhere near as good when he plays actual good teams. They don't have a left tackle of the future because Will Campbell is a guard. And I tried to... What Will Campbell looked like in that game,
Starting point is 00:30:43 he gave up 14 pressures the most in any single game by a single player all season long. He was a disaster all year in the playoffs. All year in the playoffs. Sounds weird, but the entire postseason run. Drake May, not as good as MVP,
Starting point is 00:30:59 second place would tell you. Will Campbell is a guard, not a tackle. Mike Vrable had a Mickey Mouse schedule and they're never going to. to get that lucky again. Couldn't be happier with the way the Super Bowl turned out for what it means for the Titans. And I'm a petty king and I'm not afraid to admit it.
Starting point is 00:31:18 I wanted Vrable to lose. I don't want Vrable to do well in New England. Call it what it is. I don't really care. That's how I feel. And seeing them get slaughtered by the Seahawks and seeing everybody come to the collective understanding that the Patriots were absolute frauds this year
Starting point is 00:31:34 because of their schedule and the path that they got to take. it does warm the heart a little bit. It was a good Super Bowl for Tennessee Titans fans. But with that being said, that is going to do it for me today, folks. Let me know your cut decisions, your re-signed decisions down below or hit me up on social media. I'm on every single platform that you can think of. But as always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titan.
