Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - TENNESSEE TITANS SIGN WAN'DALE ROBINSON, MITCH TRUBISKY & DANIEL BELLINGER TO START FREE AGENCY

Episode Date: March 9, 2026

The Tennessee Titans got free agency started with three big signings on the offensive side of the ball with Wan'Dale Robinson, Mitch Trubisky and Daniel Bellinger. Robinson is a perfect for Cam Ward a...nd the Titans offense and at the price tag, Titans fans should be over the moon excited. Trubisky and Bellinger are simple depth adds on offense, but are desperately needed Daboll acolytes. They can teach the offense and add value to the young guys in the locker room currently. It also spells the end for Will Levis and Chig Okonkwo for the Titans. Two moves that needed to happen. The Titans aren't done yet!! Defense is still a big concern going forward.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop/tictactitans-gear/C3AAPNWXSXA6SBYG3USV2I7R?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videos   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 Juan Dale Robinson is a Tennessee Titan as the Titans make a splash on offense to start free agency. That and more on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked on Podcast network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host Tyler Rowland Titans fans. Free agency has begun and the Tennessee Titans are getting things started on the offensive side of the ball. The biggest signing of them all is a signing that we have been expecting Juan Dale Robinson. Before I get into all of the action, do want to thank you for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Remember Monday through Friday Tennessee Titans content all year round. Always for free. Make sure that you get subscribe, stay subscribed. It's your team every day. Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there. Tune in Monday through Friday. Couldn't do it without you guys. If you aren't an everydayer, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:01:12 I have Monday through Friday, free content all year round, bonus episodes, tons of shorts. Nobody out there is keeping you as up to date, as informed and as entertained as I am on your favorite team, the Tennessee Titans. Make sure you stay locked in with the Locked on Titans podcast. But Juan Dale Robinson, Titans fans have been freaking out. It had been an hour and a half with no big time signings from the Titans. The team's terrible. Sell the team, Amy, burn it down. Well, there you go, cry babies.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Finally, the Titans make the big move that, quite honestly, we have been talking about for weeks now since the NFL combine. It made all the sense in the world for the Tennessee Titans to go out and get Juan Dale Robinson. He is a perfect fit within the offense. And the price tag that the Tennessee Titans got. him that makes it look even better. Four years, $70 million with potential up to $78 million. I hope that he makes $78 million because that means he's hitting all of the different incentives that the Titans have put into his contract for the Tennessee Titans to get one of the top
Starting point is 00:02:21 free agent wide receivers on the market. Do it for $12 million less than what Alec Pierce got. Wondale Robinson had 90 catches last year. Alec Pierce had about 50 and there's a 12 million dollar difference. That is an absolute bargain for the Tennessee Titan. So 17 and a half million APY, that is fantastic value for Wondale Robinson. When you've had people out here who I didn't believe, I told you guys, $15 to $18 million is what made sense for Wondale Robinson. And you had people out there saying 22, 23, $25 million per year
Starting point is 00:03:00 trying to act like the Tennessee Titans were going to overpay for a 5-8 slot-wide receiver at 25. He didn't make $25 million a year. That was an insane thing to push all along. And if you were following any content or anybody trying to tell you that Wondale Robinson was going to get $23, $25 million per year, stop following them. They don't know what they're talking about. But again, Wondale Robinson at his price tag, a perfect addition for the Tennessee Titans. He is a slot-wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:03:29 but I will tell you, through my film study on Wondell Robinson, he played a lot more Z wide receiver outside for the Giants last year than I was expecting to see. 44% of his snaps he played outside for the Giants. So it's not like he's totally incapable, but make no mistake about it. Where the Tennessee Titans want to have Wondell Robinson is in the slot. He is a chain mover. He is a guy who can win against man, find the holes in the zone.
Starting point is 00:03:56 He showed the ability to win vertically a lot more than we have. had seen in the first three years of his career. Last year, his yards per catch, his yards per route run, all that stuff took a big jump up because he was going vertically more often. And I'll tell you, I cover all of this in my film breakdown on Wondale Robinson
Starting point is 00:04:13 that is out on the Tick-Tac Titans channel right now. After you watch this bonus episode, go to the Tick-Tac Titans YouTube channel and watch the film breakdown on Wondale Robinson. You can see exactly what I'm explaining to you here. Man, zone, vertical. He's able to win.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Not only that, but how Brian Dable is going to be able to use him within the Tennessee Titan scheme is what has me most excited. This is a guy who Brian Dable loves to take in motion. Motion inside, then do a quick out route on third and four to pick up six and keep the chains moving. Motion from the inside to the outside and then run a quick slant route on a cornerback and get wide open over the middle of the field to keep the chains moving. He can use him in the backfield to get advantageous matchups. move him across the formation to get him lined up on linebackers.
Starting point is 00:05:01 This is a guy who is a versatile chess piece within the offense that Brian Daibel already knows how to use. There isn't a learning curve here. He already knows what Juan Dale Robinson is capable of and how he's going to be able to use him within his offense. And Wondale Robinson knew every position in that offense. He is a smart guy who knew exactly what all the route concepts were. Remember, the EP offense, the Earhart Perkins offense,
Starting point is 00:05:27 is all about nicknames for route combinations. Every route combination in the playbook has a nickname to it. And Wondell Robinson already knows all of those. So when they're practicing out at Cabo with Cam Ward, and he could say, hey, we're going to run smoke. And smoke is when I do this and when you do that. And he can already be a teacher within the offense. So his talent alone, 90 catches in back-to-back seasons,
Starting point is 00:05:51 a thousand yards last year. Absolutely fantastic. Now let me say this. Wondale Robinson is not a number one wide receiver. When you think about Jemar Chase, Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, C.D. Lamb, J.S.N., Puka, Nakuwa, those type of guys. Wondale Robinson is not that. Don't mistake for a second that Wondale Robinson is a number one wide receiver. That's not what he's being paid to be.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Wondell Robinson is making $17.5 million. That's barely close to the top 25 wide receivers in the NFL. And we're gonna see more guys get more money in the coming months and weeks. The cap is always going up, therefore the numbers are always going up. Wondell Robinson was not paid to be a number one wide receiver. And look, we can all acknowledge. The Tennessee Titans need a number one wide receiver. They need a true dominant alpha wide receiver like they had with A.J. Brown.
Starting point is 00:06:45 But just because they don't have that doesn't mean that you don't buy other things. Yes, you need a great bed in your bedroom. But just because you haven't picked out your bed yet, Doesn't mean that you don't buy in tables and a nightstand and a vanity and wall art for your bedroom. It's like acting like, hey, I'm not going to do this until I have a wide receiver one. I don't even want a wide receiver two or a wide receiver three. No, that's a dumb way to think about things. Go out there. Get good wide receivers that are going to help your team.
Starting point is 00:07:14 And the comparison that I keep making is, Wondale Robinson is an NFL talented Xavier Restrepo. So Cam Ward now finally has his dominant slot wide receiver that can be his chain mover, that can win vertically on deep crossing routes as well, that is a good route runner that knows the offense at the price tag. The Titans got Wondell Robinson. This is literally a perfect signing and exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted. And again, with Alec Pierce making $29 million a season to get Wondell Robinson at 17 and a half,
Starting point is 00:07:49 absolutely fantastic for the Tennessee Titans. But hey, that's not the only move that the Tennessee Titans made. So far, the Titans have been attacking on the offensive side of the ball and getting Brian Dable Acolytes and they made two other signings on offense that may not be as spicy and hot as Wondell Robinson but I think are absolutely perfect and this is why you listen to the Locked on Titans podcast folks
Starting point is 00:08:13 because I told you that all of these signings were coming and a fourth signing that I know is going to happen is going to be happening here soon as well. We'll break that down right now. Do want to let you know that today's bonus episode is brought to you by Indeed, workplace chaos, deadline stacking up, inbox overflowing. Fans, let's continue today's bonus edition of the Locked on Titans podcast. The Tennessee Titans are making moves on the offensive side of the ball. They sign Wondell Robinson.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Absolutely fantastic move there. I talked about why I love that signing so much. Again, my film breakdown on Wondell Robinson and everything that he can bring to the table for the Tennessee Titans is out right now on the Tick-Tact Titans YouTube channel. Go ahead and check that out. but again we got more signings
Starting point is 00:11:09 and the first signing of the day which was kind of funny because you know everybody was hyped up waiting for a move and then the Titans signed Mitchell Trebisky for a backup quarterback spot but I gotta tell you I love this move I predicted that Mitchell Trubesky would be the signing for the Tennessee Titans
Starting point is 00:11:25 he is a perfect backup quarterback he worked with Brian Dable in Buffalo in 2021 before Mitch Trubesky moved to the Steelers and before Brian Dable went to the New York Giants he knows Brian Dable is a lot of offense. He is one of the high quality backups in the NFL. So having a backup quarterback that can conceivably come in and actually win some football games. If Cam Ward were to go down, that is absolutely critical. The Tennessee Titans need to set their culture this year. They need
Starting point is 00:11:52 to win football games where last year you were looking at a guy like Brandon Allen who, yeah, he knew Brian Callahan's system. He can teach it to Cam Ward. That's great. But if Brandon Allen had to play football, the Titans were absolutely screwed. And we saw that in week 18 against Jacksonville. They were going to win that game if Cam Ward played. Cam Ward got hurt, went out, Brandon Allen went in, it was an absolute disaster. The Titans could not afford for that to happen again. So they had to get one of the better backups in the NFL and they signed Mitch Trubisky to a two-year contract. Now, the comment section can let me know right now if you guys have seen it, but I have not seen a contract number for Mitch Trubesky. I would imagine that it's, you know, probably $7 to $10 million per year.
Starting point is 00:12:37 like a fair number for a backup quarterback. But again, absolutely critical that the Titans get a high level backup that is good enough to potentially win then some football games. Now, I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that Mitch Trubisky is a fantastic quarterback and the Titans are guaranteed to win if he has to play. But unlike Brandon Allen, at least Mitch Trubisky gives the Titans a chance to win football games if he has to play. Now, outside of that, like I said, he knows Brian Dable's system.
Starting point is 00:13:05 He can teach Brian Dable's system to Cam Ward. And it's not just about teaching the system to Cam Ward. It's about, hey, here's how you prepare in the NFL. Here's how you watch tape week to week. Here's how you check the calls. Here's how you communicate to your teammates. The tutelage under the guise of the Brian Dable offense that Mitch Trubisky can give to Cam Ward is absolutely tremendous.
Starting point is 00:13:29 I love that signing, love that move. And again, I told you guys on last night's episode, Wondale Robbins, Mitch Trabisky and the next guy. Well, let me say this before we move out of the quarterback area. Bye-bye, Will Levis. Another thing, while I'm here giving myself pats on the back, make sure that I don't hurt my shoulder while I'm patting the other shoulder.
Starting point is 00:13:50 But I told you, Wondale Robinson, Mitch Trubisky, Daniel Bellinger, and Will Levis is going to be traded. It has been so obvious and yet so many Titans fans have tried to fight against it. What have we developed, Will? Levis. Why don't they keep Will Levis around? They're not going to do that. Will Levis needs to be traded and he would have been traded last year if he didn't decide to quit on the team and go have shoulder surgery. And I know that I'm going to get the comments. Did you see that picture of his shoulder looked like that when he played as well? It looked like that before he started in 2024. It looked like that when he was drafted. Keenan Allen's shoulders still looked like that. Will Levis was showing off his little shoulder bump in the locker room a year before. for surgery as a joke. He quit on the football team as a way to pout for Cam Ward getting drafted. Will Levis quit on the team. He didn't need to get that surgery and if he was the starter,
Starting point is 00:14:46 he wouldn't have got that surgery. So with that being said, Sayanora Will Levis, the Titans will be trading him. There's no way that the Tennessee Titans went out and paid a decent amount for a backup quarterback on a two-year deal who's one of the better backups in the NFL just for them to keep Will Levis around. Doesn't make any sense at all. And look, there's some confusion in the chat right now. I've seen some reporting four years, 78 million sounds better at 70. Guys, it's four years 70 million with up to 78 million dollars.
Starting point is 00:15:20 There's $8 million in potential incentives for Wondale Robinson. Incentives are not going to be a big part of the salary cap hit. That's incentive-laden. But let's all have a moment to talk to ourselves. I hope that Wondale Robinson does get that $8 million in incentives. I hope that happens because that means that he is doing a great job for the Tennessee Titans. So four years, $70 million, $8 million in incentives for Wondale Robinson to go with Mitch Trubisky, which means Will Levis is out of here, which you should have known already, the moment that Cam Ward was drafted.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I don't know why you guys fight with me on this stuff so much when things are blatantly obvious. But the next thing that we got to go to is Daniel Bellinger. Daniel Bellinger was signed as the Titans tight end to. Another signing that I have been telling you guys for some time now. It makes so much sense. Brian Daibble's offense requires two traditional tight ends. Not a Chig O'Conquo, okay? I've been trying to tell you that.
Starting point is 00:16:24 No one wants to listen, but there you go. Chig O'Conquo. Bye-bye. another guy that you could say buy to as a Tennessee Titans fan and look, I'm not going to lie to you guys checking out Twitter, making sure that I don't miss any news, why I'm live
Starting point is 00:16:39 here, nothing so far in terms of Tennessee Titans signing. There are other big signings in the NFL but with Daniel Bellinger. This is a guy who's 6 foot 5, 6 foot 6 250 pounds can be an inline tight end next to the offensive tackle, can move out a little bit as well. He pairs perfectly with
Starting point is 00:16:55 Gunner Helm as two tight ends that can both do the same thing. They are interchanged You can use them consistently and one thing that I like to see on the tape from Brian Dable last year in New York is they would split Daniel Bellinger out They would come out in multiple tight-end sets and then they would split everybody out and Daniel Bellinger can do that. He's a sure-handed guy who does not drop the football He has great hands magnificent hands. He is not a bulldozing blocker. Okay, he is a versatile tight-end who can do a little bit of both and I give you guys a little bit of example again pro football focus is not the B-Doseon all end all here. But Chica Conquo was graded as the worst run blocking tight end in the entire NFL. Worst run blocking tight end in the entire NFL in back-to-back seasons. You guys are putting
Starting point is 00:17:45 names in the chat. Alante Taylor at cornerback making me think people got signed. The Titans have not signed Alante Taylor yet, but I would love for that to happen. Anyways, moving right along, Daniel Bellinger is ranked 42 on that list. So Chigacanquo is 93 at the bottom of the NFL and tight ends that have played more than 150 snaps and Daniel Bellinger is ranked 42. So he's not, you know, George Kittle as a blocker but he's a solid, serviceable blocker
Starting point is 00:18:17 and him and Gunner Helm together can both do similar things and you're not going to have a guy on the field where, hey, we need to run the football and we absolutely can't because we have Chigaconkwo on the field. So I am so excited about these moves, stacking out the offensive side of the ball so that the Titans can then turn their attention
Starting point is 00:18:35 to the defensive side of the ball. I know a lot of you guys are worried about the offensive line. I think Kevin Zitler is going to be back with the Titans, and like I told you, on Sunday night, I think the Titans are going to sign Dylan Porum, and he's going to be their starting center, and then they're going to draft an interior offensive lineman in the draft to develop.
Starting point is 00:18:55 behind him. So, that was my expectation all along, and now that Tyler Linderbaum, Cade Mays, Connor McGovern, Tyler Beaudish, all off the market, it's just continuing to point in the direction
Starting point is 00:19:10 that I have been telling you guys and it's funny that I was on Twitter a couple of days ago and I tweeted out, you know, I think that the Titans could go get a Carmen Priscilla guy like Dylan Porum and convert him to center
Starting point is 00:19:22 because he's played about 200 snaps at center and started a couple of games at center, reunite him with his old offensive line coach who played him at center a little bit. And I think the Titans could have a good young center there. And, you know, next thing you know, my guy TD to Ron Davenport from ESPN is retweeting it, saying this is a name that I heard at the Combine.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Why is this the number one Titans podcast in the world? Why do you guys keep coming back? Why do you stay locked into the Locked-on Titans podcast? Because Old Uncle Ty might know a couple of things. I'm just saying. With that being said, I expect more activity from the Tennessee Titans. I am going to be back with you guys. Whether there's another big signing, I'll go live again, I'll keep doing short videos.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I'll be back for my regular 30-minute episode later tonight to recap everything that happened. But at the end of the day, this is a great start-to-free agency for the Tennessee Titans and what I was expecting, but there are still a lot of work to be done. But with that being said, that's going to do it for me today, folks. As always, I am your host, Tyler Ron. rolling and this was locked on titans
