Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans TOP TEN FAVORITE GAMES: 2019 Playoff Run, Mariota's Rebirth & Derrick Henry's Best
Episode Date: June 16, 2026HAPPY TEN YEAR ANNIVESARY LOCKED ON!!! To celebrate, Tyler Rowland is ranking his TOP TEN favorite games in Tennessee Titans history! First, the 2019 playoff run seeing the Titans go all the way to th...e conference championship game was the best moments of football the Titans have had since they moved to Tennessee. Winning playoff games on the road against the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots was magical to watch. After that, you have to put the Music City Miracle as it is the most legendary play in franchise history. It wasn't the 2019 run, but Marcus Mariota brought this team back from the dead and gave all Titans fans something to believe in and be proud of. His best moments against the Chiefs in the playoffs and the Jaguars in a clinching game should always be remembered fondly. Vince Young wasn't on Mariota's level, but boy he had some incredible moments early on with massive comebacks. Finally, watching Derrick Henry become one of the best running backs in NFL history was an absolute joy and some of his most dominant performances will stand the test of time. It's the 10-year anniversary of the Locked-on Podcast Network, and to celebrate,
I'm ranking my top 10 favorite Tennessee Titans games of all time on today's edition of
Locked on Titans.
You are Locked-on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked-on
Podcast Network, your team every day.
Welcome to the Locked-on Titans podcast.
I am your host, Tyler Rolent Titans fans.
Today's bonus celebration edition of the Locked on Titans podcast
is brought to you by Fandall.
The biggest stage in world soccer is here.
Let there be goals on Fandall, visit Fandle.com to get started now again.
It is June 16th, 2026.
We are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Locked-on podcast network.
Can't thank you all enough.
so grateful for you guys being locked in at all times with the Locked on Titans
Podcast, the Locked On Network, allowing us to get to this tremendous feat.
In response, we are going to celebrate with a top 10 list of my own,
my favorite Tennessee Titans games of my life.
Again, I know that my list isn't going to match up perfectly with your guys' list,
but again, these are my top 10 favorite games as a Titans fan ever.
and spoiler alert, thank you, Derek Henry.
But with that in mind, number one on my list,
my favorite Tennessee Titans game of all time
was the 2019 divisional round against the Baltimore Ravens.
Titans win, 28, Ravens 12.
The deep bomb on the double move to Khalif Raymond
from Ryan Tanna Hill to really put the punctuation on that victory
might be my favorite Tennessee Titans moment ever.
And not because Ryan Tana Hill to Khalif Raymond
is such a crazy, you know, hookup
that it just reminds you of the greatness of the...
But it just, it does, though.
That moment was like,
I cannot believe this team is doing this.
From being 2 and 4,
moving off Marcus,
Derek Henry blowing up,
AJ Brown coming on,
Mike Vrable showing his dominance as a coach.
Like, I just could, I could never be happier.
And for me personally,
2019 was the first year I ever did the podcast.
I was, you know, scared, stupid, young,
no idea what would happen.
And for the Titans to have the second best season
in the history of the franchise,
yeah, maybe not the most regular season wins,
but in terms of advancing,
the second best season the Titans have had since they moved to Nashville, moved to Tennessee,
it did unexplainable things for my career and for this show.
So not only was it the second best run that a Titans team had ever had,
I could fully experience it as an adult.
It mattered to my life and my career.
The Henry Stiff arm of Earl Taylor,
the Kevin Byard interception,
that is my favorite game ever.
No doubt.
My favorite game ever of the Titans.
Number two, I'm going to stay in the same playoff run.
Number two for me is the wild card round
against the New England Patriots.
The Tennessee Titans ended,
ended the New England Patriots dynasty.
Ended it.
Tom Brady gone after.
Henry went for 182 in a touchdown.
Logan,
Picks six at the end to seal the game.
Mike Vrable, using the loophole and the rules with the punt
where he's taking false starts to burn time off the clock.
I mean, just mastery all over the board.
Mastery all over the board.
What an incredible run.
What an incredible win.
Nobody thought the Titans had a chance.
And again, they beat New England and then they go to Baltimore.
and that Baltimore game, just one more note on that,
I had been saying that I want the Titans to play Baltimore
in the playoffs if they make it for months.
I said the Tennessee Titans will upset the Baltimore Ravens
in like November or December of that year.
I called that shot.
It was one of the big, first big moments for me as a contact creator
is I called that upset.
I said the Titans are the worst possible matchup
for the Ravens that year.
And the Titans woke them.
What an incredible run.
That and New England together.
Those are my two favorite games of my Titans career.
I just over the moon could not believe it.
Number three, though, I've waited long enough, guys.
The Music City Miracle.
Yeah, listen.
The reason that the Music City Miracle isn't number one,
2216 over the Buffalo Bills,
first round of the playoffs, 1999, 2000.
The reason that the Music City miracle isn't number one for me
It's simply, I was just a kid.
I was eight years old.
I just couldn't appreciate that game.
And I hadn't been a Titans fan for a long time.
I basically had just started liking the team that year.
The Music City Miracle was one of the main reasons
I decided to make the Titans my team.
You know what I mean?
So like, the 2019 playoff run
just met way more to me as a fan and as a guy.
Then the Music City miracle did.
Even though it's one of the top five, three greatest games in NFL history,
greatest finishes, greatest plays will say in NFL history
might be the greatest play in NFL history.
You could make the argument.
You know what I mean?
So I'll put it at number three.
I know that's probably too low for some of you,
but for me personally, what that 2019 season meant,
my experience of it.
Unmatched.
Unmatched.
Now, number four on my list, though,
we get into the Marcus years.
Marcus deserves his love.
Did he become what we hoped when he was taken
number two in the draft? No.
But he did good enough.
Marcus did good enough, man.
Number four is the comeback,
2017-2018, wildcard round
against Kansas City 22 to 21.
The Titans were down 21 to 3.
Marcus had the
throw-to-your-your-self touchdown.
Derek Henry had 156 yards.
That was the first time Derek Henry showed us
oh wow, this guy could be special.
And remember, the next year,
the Titans get Matt Lafleur
and Derek Henry is terrible for most of the year
until the very end of the year
where he breaks out against Jacksonville and Houston and stuff.
But this was the first moment where it was like,
oh, Derek Henry.
Oh.
So Marcus, with that,
legendary play, Derek Henry, showing the flashes early.
Jonathan Siprian, if you're out there, Sip, thank you.
We will never forget you.
Jonathan Siprian, knock Travis Kelsey the freak out.
And if that didn't happen, the Titans would not have come back in that game.
Period.
That's why the Titans came back in that game.
Remember, that was Alex Smith Chiefs, not Mahomes yet.
But the only reason the Titans came back
is because Cyprian knocked Travis Kelsey out with a concussion,
knocked his block off.
If that doesn't happen, the Titans don't come back and win that game.
But that ruined the Chief's offense
because they didn't have anywhere to go after that.
And the Titans came back.
Derek Henry, Marcus Marietta.
Shout out to you guys.
Always remember.
And then number five, to round out my top five games,
I'm going with Marcus's stiff arm on Barry Church,
the final game of the season against the Jackson
Jaguars,
2017 to clinch
the playoff berth.
The game was actually
2018, I think it was the
last week or the first week of January
but it was the 17-18 season
where the Titans broke their playoff drought
after not going to the playoffs in 10 years.
Marcus.
And I watched those, like a lot of these games
like just the highlights of them
before I made this list just to remind myself
of why I love these games so much.
Marcus stiff arm in Barry Church on 3rd and 5
to pick up 13 yards
at the 2-minute warning
and then he turns around
and walks back behind Barry Church
like Mike Myers or something
Marcus doing that
that moment
me and my brother were watching that game together
that moment
I could not believe it
to see our guy Marcus
perp up like that
show some dog
I'll never forget that moment
and for what it all meant
to glitch the playoffs
Kevin Byrd had two picks in that game
and Kevin Byrd's my favorite Tennessee Titans player
of all time so big moments
the mayor of Murfreesboro always showed up
in the biggest moments
no doubt about it. So those are my top five games
2019
Divisional Round Against Baltimore
the Wild Card Game Against the Patriots
the Music City Miracle
Marcus's comeback against Kansas City
and then the Marcus Stiff arm
taken Barry to church.
Those are my top five games
as a Titans fan.
Let me know your rankings,
but now we're going to talk about
the last five games on my list
and more Derek Henry
and some in-person memories that I have
but we start with love for Vince Young.

Titans fans, let's continue today's bonus edition
of the Locked on Titans podcast,
celebrating the 10-year anniversary
of the Locked-on podcast network.
Shout out Locked-on.
We're doing our, my top-10 favorite Titans games of all time.
Number one, the divisional round win over the Ravens in 2019.
The Wild Card win from that same year over the New England Patriots,
then the Music City Miracle at three.
Marcus' comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs at four,
and then Marcus's stiff arm against Barry Church
against the Jags, Week 17, 2017, at number five.
but getting into the final five games,
I got to just give number six to Vince Young.
I still believe
Vince Young was Cam Newton before Cam Newton
and Jeff Fisher, Norm Chow
had no idea what to do with him.
Jeff Fisher hired Norm Chow
because they were going to draft Matt Liner
and Bud Adams overruled and said,
no, you're taking Vince Young.
So Vince was doomed for the start
with a coaching staff that didn't want him,
wasn't prepared for him, didn't believe in him, and it ruined his mental ability.
I'm not going to act like Vince Young did everything perfect,
but he would have been a way better player with a more supporting system, in my opinion.
You're never shaking me off of that.
So that's why number six, I went with Vince Young's comebacks.
2006 against the Giants, 24 to 21, coming back down from 21-0.
20 to 17 against the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.
26 to 20 against the Texans in 2006
in his hometown with the walk-off front.
Vince Young was one of my favorite football players of all time.
His performance against USC in the National Championship
is my favorite football game I have ever watched in my life at any level.
High school, football, my own games,
peewee, middle school, NFL, whatever you want.
The best football game I have ever seen in my life to this day
is Texas against USC 2005 National Championship, period.
And Vince Jung was the best football player
I had ever seen in my life.
And he could have been a special, special player
at the NFL level, and was in moments,
and showed it in moments.
So I'll always, always stand for Vince Young.
You'll never talk me off of it.
You never will.
So Vince Young and any comeback that he made
during his time with the Titans' quarterback,
is number six on my list.
I loved him so much.
I enjoyed that so much.
The next couple of games for me
are personal.
I was there in person.
Number seven is the Titans walk-off win
against the Bengals in 2017.
DeMarco Murray dipping and breaking through
two different Bengals to get to the goal line
and extend the ball over the mark for the win,
24 to 20.
I was in person. That was the first time I had ever,
made a trip to Nashville.
I went with three of my best friends,
two who were Bengals fans,
and my brother who I reference often on this podcast,
who was a Titans fan.
Two Titans fans, two Bengals fans.
I am from Central Ohio,
so no shock that I have a lot of friends
that are Bengals fans.
It was just the greatest weekend.
We partied.
I saw Broad Street,
like, or Broadway, Broad Street.
That's Philadelphia.
I saw Broadway.
with all the different bars.
I like to dance.
I got moves, folks.
I'll tell you that.
I can move, all right.
I was dancing.
You know, I was single.
I was having a good time on Broadway,
folks.
And then the Titans game happened.
I was so excited at the end of that game.
I was taking a Snapchat after they won.
I like passed out in my chair because I couldn't breathe.
The blood rushed to my head too quick.
And I might have a few adult beverages during the game as well.
That might have contributed to my,
instability, but man, what
a game. And that season
for them to turn things around and be a competitive team,
it was just so, so necessary
and so needed after what had happened
during the 20 teams.
Next, another game I went to,
Titans Colts, again, with my brother
and both of our lady friends.
Titans Colts, 2021,
the Carson Wentz debacle,
3431 Titans win,
AJ had 155 and went nuts.
My favorite wide receiver in Titans history,
one of my favorite players in Titans history.
Again, Kevin Byard gets the interception in overtime to set up the Titans win.
Remember, David Long glanced and hit Carson Wentz,
and he threw the ball up at the goal line, and it went to Elijah Molden.
I was in the stands that day.
That was a very nerve-wracking game.
I don't know if the people who went with me had a great time
because I was so nervous throughout the game and up and down,
and there was a Colts fan in front of me,
was, you know, having some things to say.
Most people in Indianapolis are very, very friendly.
I've never had any problems.
But that day, and I think he was just mad because Carson Wentz sucked.
You know what I mean?
Like, I would be very frustrated if I was a friendly Colts fan too
from watching Carson Wentz throw that game away
because the Colts were up 14 to nothing
and should have dominated that game.
But Carson Wentz was a bozo and kept turning over the ball.
So that was just a crazy game, fun time,
got to throw that in there.
And then the final two games,
just thank you, Derek Henry.
Thank you, Derek Henry.
I mean, the only game on this list
that Derek Henry wasn't on the team
was that I gave Vince Young number 6
and the Music City miracle.
All of the eight other games are Derek Henry.
Divisional round, Derek Henry goes nuts
on the Ravens.
Wildcard round, Derek Henry goes nuts.
on the Patriots.
Derek Henry 1-56 in the wild-card game against the Chiefs.
Derek Henry didn't go nuts against Jacksonville in that game,
but Derek Henry was on the team for the Barry Church stiff arm.
Derek Henry on the team, not a critical player,
but on the team for the Bengals game.
Derek Henry on the team for the Colts game.
And then Derek Henry,
going over 2,000 yards in 2020,
with 250 yards in the final game against Houston.
His third straight game of 200 plus yards against Houston
for the Titans to win 41 to 38.
And if you remember, the Titans were kind of up in that game.
And Derek Henry
maybe wouldn't have gotten
the final couple of carries that he needed,
but Mike Frable gave it to him anyway.
He broke off a massive run and got 250,
led the NFL in rushing, got the 2K,
That was an awesome game.
That was just an incredible game.
Love that game.
And then finally, the Bills game in 2021,
where the Titans got the number one seed.
Remember, it was like week,
it was early in the season.
It was like week two, three, four,
maybe week six or seven at max.
But the Titans had been good.
And people didn't believe in the Titans.
Okay?
The Titans were good, had a good record,
but people didn't believe in the Titans.
They go into Buffalo.
They're losing, I think it was 10-0,
maybe 13 nothing, even, 14 nothing.
The Titans were down by two scores,
and Derek Henry broke off a 76-yard touchdown run
through the heart of the Buffalo Bill's defense.
Totally changed the game.
Henry went for 143, three touchdowns.
That game, the Titans came back in one,
34 to 31, scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter
to win that game, and that was the moment
where it was like the Titans are a legitimate team
might be the best team in the AFC.
and they ended up getting the number one seat.
So I had to throw that in there.
So big love to Derek Henry,
who is all over this list.
But again, 10 years for the Lockdowne podcast network,
such a big accomplishment,
hopefully many more years to come.
And I want to give a personal thank you to David Locke.
This show,
this program changed my life,
whether it be from a career standpoint,
my personal mental happiness,
and where I was at in my life before I got this opportunity,
my financial situation, where I was.
When I first got this podcast,
I was renting a spare bedroom from my brother
laying on a hand-me-down mattress with no box spring
that I got from a kid younger than me.
I was in a bad spot, folks.
I was in a bad spot.
My life is totally different now.
And while I, I guess, deserve some credit for working hard
and you all deserve a ton of credit for, you know,
showing me support throughout this time and enjoying the program.
I got to give a lot of the credit to David Locke,
who took a chance on a kid with not much on the resume,
who all I did was record a demo episode on an iPhone
and send it into him.
And he gave me the opportunity and it changed my life.
So thank you, David Locke,
for leading this incredible network and given opportunities to people like me
who had thought I'd never had a chance to do it.
So that's a leader for you right there, folks.
That's a pioneer who revolutionized the sports media industry.
David Locke revolutionized this industry.
So shout out to you.
El Capitone.
But with that being said,
I hope you guys enjoyed this bonus episode.
Again, I'm going to have another episode out tonight
covering what happened at Tennessee Titans Mandatory Manny Camps.
So don't worry, that's still going to be there.
But that's going to do it for me, for this episode at least.
Folks, as always, I am your host, Tyler Ruland.
And this was Locked on Titans.
