Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans UGLY REMINDER in Jaguars loss, Cam Ward Struggles & JC Latham Concerns Continue
Episode Date: November 30, 2025The Tennessee Titans got STOMPED by the Jacksonville Jaguars and reminded us all of how bad the team still is even after some inspired play the last two weeks. Terrible coaching, bad penalties, young ...players like Cam Ward and JC Latham struggling. This one had about everything terrible you could expect from this team and ruined any goodwill they had built. While many struggled, the struggles are not all equal, like with Ward. Ward is a young QB and his growth will not be linear. A specific schematic change made things tougher on Ward as well. However, for a player like JC Latham, struggling the way he is in his second season, it is fair to start to be concerned. After this reminder, it is time to look full force at the tank ahead and next week against the Cleveland Browns is a massive game. We're going to talk about just how terrible of a football team.
This Tennessee Titans reminded us that they are.
It goes so much further than the individual players out on the field to an overall operation by the Titans.
led by Mike McCoy who was just an absolute tank commander to the max.
We do gotta talk about some of these individual performances though
because it was a bad game for Cam Ward but friendly reminder
growth is not linear on the other hand.
J.C. Latham continues to look like a disaster but what becomes more important now
is the tank ahead for the Titans.
We got a big win from the New York Jets in the one o'clock window
we'll look ahead at the next few weeks and look at what the field looks like
for the Titans when it comes to the number one
overall pick but with that being said

With all that being said, again, this is one of the worst losses that I have ever seen for the Tennessee Titans.
All of the different factors that went into this game being ugly.
And again, it is a terrible, terrible reminder of just how bad this football team is.
I admit, I was part of the problem.
The last couple of weeks, the Tennessee Titans late in the Houston game,
Cam Ward drives down, touchdown drive, defense plays pretty solid,
the Titans lose 16 to 3.
Okay, that was a competitive game.
Actually, no, it wasn't.
Cam Ward scored a touchdown in the last couple minutes of the game
that made it look like it was close.
But the Texans really dominated the Titans
for most of that game.
They were in total control until the very, very end.
And then last week, against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Titans are down 23 to 3, 30 to 10.
The Seahawks destroyed the Titans in that game.
They dominated the Titans in that game. But then Cam Ward gets, you know, we get the Chim D.K. Punt return.
Cam Ward garbage time touchdowns late in the game right at the end of the third quarter, middle of the fourth quarter.
Titans lose by six, 30 to 24. It looks better. We got high off the garbage fumes, folks.
We were laying in the trash, rolling around in the trash, and the fumes got in and we're like,
this team's getting more competitive. This team's gonna play better football.
This team's got...
No, they're not.
No, they're not.
A friendly reminder or an unfriendly reminder
of just how bad this football team is.
We got to start with the coaching.
I mean, Mike McCoy is the bane of my existence.
Mike McCoy being the head coach of my football team
following Brian Callahan as the head coach of my football team.
Like, it is just...
It's impossible to explain how annoying and joyless
Mike McCoy makes the son
And I defended Mike McCoy
On the very first drive of the game
The only points the Titan scored the whole game
They got three points on the opening drive
And then they never scored another point again
The rest of the time
I defended Mike McCoy
For kicking the field goal
It's the opening drive of the game
You don't want the momentum to go the other way
Get some points on the board
All right
All right let's start the game
It's the first drive
but when Mike McCoy is punting the football
down multiple scores in the second half
what are we doing
I know
I know
I know that this team is not good
I know that this team is mostly young players
I understand that it may not work out
but what are we doing not going for it
on fourth down in the second half
when you're down by multiple scores
What do you have to lose?
And even the broadcasters are like, what do they got to lose here?
You're 1 in 10.
You're an interim head coach.
What's the risk?
What are you scared of?
It just, it's illogical.
And then more than game management, the offensive structure.
How many times during this game did you see two wide receivers in the same exact spot?
How many times?
The Titans are having a good drive on the very first.
first drive, they're running the football up the gut, they're throwing the ball quick,
they're throwing on first down, they're running on second down, they're doing all the things
that we talk about, and then they run a sissy foo-foo reverse, another sissy foo
play for bow hard agree in the titans offense. Every time the titans offense has some
momentum, Bo Hardegree tries to run one of his plays to trick the defense.
You're having your most successful rushing drive of the season.
and you want to pull out the pistol reverse
Bowhard degree
because you're so smart
because running duo up the middle
or running a quick throw for Cam Ward
isn't going to work
but your fancy sissy foo play is
so whether it's the play calling
whether it's the offensive philosophy
whether it's the technique of the offense
I have said to you guys so many times this year
I've said to you so many times that
in the preseason
Kurt Warner made a video
crushing the Tennessee Titans offensive structure
saying the wide receivers are running their routes
with improper technique
they're too close together
the spacing isn't right this is not good
and then we see it every single week
a wide receiver screen where no one looks
two guys standing right next to each other
the big throw to Chicka Conquo
late in the Seattle Seahawks game
or the Houston game
Van Jefferson is literally
on him like a backpack. They're right next to each other. The routes are not spaced
out properly. The offense isn't coordinated properly. This coaching staff
is a disgrace, especially on the offensive side of the ball, which is really
what I'm talking about. And then you add in the penalties.
Embarrassing to me that the Titans are getting beat by 18 points or 22 points
and they're fighting every play. Why don't you show some fight in between the whistle?
instead of fighting everybody after the whistle
and I cannot wait to get Arden Key off my football team
what a bum
I mean
what a disgrace
going on the sideline
and as you're getting whooped
get out of here man
I can't believe he didn't get ejected
I was hoping he did
what a disgrace this football team is
show some fight during the whistle
while you're getting booed
by a couple hundred people
who for some reason came
to watch you play.
I mean, I saw multiple people who were at the game
commenting on how empty the stands were,
especially at the end,
it was worse than a preseason game.
Disgraceful loss.
Embarrassing coaching.
Embarrassing effort.
The roughinging the punter,
the offensive penalties,
the special teams return penalties,
the Arden Key situation,
the fighting, I mean,
just a despondent performance.
a disgraceful performance from this franchise.
And then you add in some of the individual problems.
Cam Ward did not play well in this game.
Chim D.K. Fumbled.
Elic Io Manor was a disaster.
Drops the last fourth down that ends the game.
J.C. Latham is an embarrassment right now.
And we're going to talk more about the individual performances in this game.
concern and some of the things I'm not concerned about.
Cam Ward's growth is linear, it's not linear folks.
It's not like he's just going to get better every single week after week after week.
There are going to be two steps forward, then a step back.
And that's exactly what just happened.
So people using this game as a reason to criticize Cam Ward after he was top 10 in QBR
and played great the last couple of weeks.
Like, you're just week-to-week Nancy's, man.
Nothing else to say about that.
Do want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by Game Time.

again, absolutely embarrassing, disgraceful, pathetic, despicable, distraught, despond it,
whatever word you want to throw in there, whatever adjective you want to throw in there,
you got it from me today, garbage, quite frankly, loss from the Tennessee Titans,
but outside of it just being an organizational loss and a reminder of how bad this team is
and how lost this organization is right now, we got a little high off the garbage fumes,
as I said at the beginning of the show, thinking this team might turn the corner and be more
competitive. Boy, we were wrong about that, but one of the big disappointments that made this game so bad,
and I talked about last week, last week was a perfect loss for the Tennessee Titans.
All the young guys played well. The team made a push. They kept fighting. They got back in the game.
This was the opposite of that. This was the imperfect loss for the Tennessee Titans.
Not only because of how embarrassing and disgusting it was from a totality perspective,
but the individual performances made this one so depressing,
discouraging.
A lot of D words in today's show describing this performance,
but Cam Ward did not play well.
There's no way around it.
I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
I'm not going to get on here and tell you
that the game wasn't as bad as it actually...
Look, there's a lot of crap.
The offensive coaching, terrible.
The wide receiver play, terrible.
The offensive line, not good enough.
I know, I know, I know.
All of that is true.
But like I always do, I tell you guys the truth.
I keep it honest, all right?
And even though all of those things were a problem today,
and I talked about the offense
and all these wide receivers are right next to each other and all that,
with all of those caveats being true,
all of those things being true,
Kim Ward still did not play well today.
Loose with the ball.
not seeing the field.
I mean, if I go back to the tape,
if I go back to the tape and it looks like,
oh, there's just nobody open ever.
Jacksonville had perfect coverage all the time.
Then I'll recant.
I'll come on here.
I'll tell you that's what I saw.
We'll break down the film.
I'll recant.
But I'm sorry, it's hard to look at that performance.
This was not like the last two games.
You know, Cam missed throws.
Didn't get the ball out.
made questionable decisions.
It wasn't a good game.
But here is my point.
Here is the real point.
And again, like I'm not going to come on here and try to sell you
that Cam Ward didn't play bad in this game,
I'm also going to be the same person to sit here and tell you
exactly what I tweeted out during the game.
Growth isn't linear.
It's not like Cam Ward gets to step one
and then goes to step two and step three and step four and step five, step six,
and he gets better and better and better.
and better, better, every single game for the rest of his career and it never stops.
That's not how this works.
Cam Ward took steps forward in the last couple of weeks.
He took a couple of steps forward against a very tough defense in Houston and a very tough defense in Seattle.
He saw the field a little bit better.
He got a little bit in a rhythm.
He started to run the ball a little bit more.
He had more control over the game.
He wasn't making turnover worthy plays.
All of those things are true.
And then he took one step back today.
So a couple of steps forward
One step back
And that is what growth looks like
I know a lot of people
Love to get into the comment sections online
And blah blah
And blah and say
Oh this guy had one bad game
He's a bum, he's done forever
blah blah
This guy's a bus
And a lot of those people
Never worked hard for nothing
A lot of those people
You wouldn't ask advice from on the street
A lot of those people
If you knew them in person
You know that they've never worked hard for anything
They've never accomplished anything
They've never done anything
So why would you
why would you take their criticism too much?
The reality is success in life is hard
and success requires failure.
So you're going to fail.
You're going to have bad games.
You're going to have bad days.
Whether you're a football player or whether you're in life,
you're going to get let go from a job.
Does that mean you're a bum?
Go back and look at some of the most successful people in history
and the failures that they went through to get to where they are.
Look how much Michael George.
Gordon lost before he got to win.
So that's just an overall life lesson of you don't take one game
against the Jacksonville Jaguars because here's what I would tell you.
A couple of weeks ago, Jacksonville had the Los Angeles Chargers
and Justin Herbert to six points.
They beat them even worse than they beat the Titans, 35 to 6.
Is Justin Herbert terrible?
He had a bad week.
He was awful in that game.
The Jags really roughed him up.
The Jags are 8 and 4.
tied for first place in the AFC South right now.
And good, the Colts lost.
Doesn't it warm your heart?
I'd do anything to see the Colts collapse this year.
I really would.
The way their fans acted at the beginning of the season
with their season's over
since they're going with Daniel Jones
and then they acted like Daniel Jones is their boy
and he's a franchise quarterback and all.
Oh, man, I surely hope the Colts collapse.
Praying on it, honestly.
These things you've got to hold on to in a season like this, all right?
And it requires hate watching, okay?
But the point overall is
is that growth is not linear
whether in life, whether in football
and what we've seen from Cam Ward
the flashes of football
that we've seen of Cam Ward so far this season
and the step forward that he took the last couple of weeks
is not completely erased and removed by a bad game today.
It's just not.
Growth isn't linear.
Sometimes you go a couple steps forward
you take a step back,
you go a couple more steps forward,
you go a couple steps back,
You take a big junk forward.
A couple steps back up, you know, and maybe all right, fine.
Maybe Cam Ward doesn't become a franchise quarterback.
Maybe Cam Ward ultimately doesn't work out below it.
Maybe you haters who want your football team to be even worse than they already are
and more hopeless than you already are.
Maybe you guys are right and you can find your misery soon.
But this game isn't proof of that.
And it doesn't erase all the good stuff Cam Ward's done in the last couple of weeks either.
Now, as we move forward,
Elylech Eo Manor is making me sad.
He can't catch the football.
He doesn't seem to be in the right place.
Seeing him struggle the last couple of weeks,
that is even more disappointing.
It adds into the frustration.
Again, just like I said with Cam Ward,
growth is not linear,
can't be out on any rookie after one game,
but Iyo Manor's been disappointing for six weeks now.
You know what I mean?
like and the drops were an issue in college
that continue to be an issue in the pros
I just hope that
with a second off season
and a better offense with better coaching
they can get him a better understanding of the offense
so that he can think less and just play more
and maybe that'll help with the drops
even D.K.
D.K. Fumbled a punt, man.
All the young guys had their struggles out there
but we got to talk about J.C. Latham
because
You know, you try to give people time
And like I said with Cam, growth isn't linear
But Latham isn't as early on in the process
As Cam Warden.
He doesn't get as much patience.
This is year two for J.C. Latham.
This is the back end of year two for J.C. Latham.
He lost weight.
He switched sides.
Like they have done everything they can.
to get more out of J.C. Latham,
and whether it be the injury early in the year,
whether it be when he hasn't been injured.
Latham has had a couple of decent games.
But he's also had quite a few awful games,
and he was awful in this game.
Josh Hines-Allen destroying him,
and here's the problem.
Here's what's most disappointing, okay, about J.C. Latham.
Here's the biggest issue, his anchor.
He's getting pushed back.
He's getting moved back
When the Titans drafted this 360-pound behemoth
Out of Alabama
We were told that this guy has an incredible anchor
And he did have a great anchor on his college tape
But people move so much faster at the NFL level
That his anchor does not hold up
And maybe it's losing the weight
Maybe losing 20 pounds
Even though, you know, he's not much faster
And he looks a lot weaker
in his anchor
and he's getting pushed around
he doesn't drive guys in the run game
anywhere near as much
as I figured that he might coming out of college
being that size and that strength
like he looks like a guy
again
I thought this was absurd
to start the conversation
a couple of weeks ago
it may not have been early enough
but a move to guard right now
is not like if a new coaching staff
comes in here and puts on the tape
of J.C. Latham and says,
hey, we're moving him into right guard
and we'll look for a right tackle.
I don't know how you can fight against that right now.
I don't think that that's confirmed.
I don't think that you could say
with absolute certainty that that should be the case.
But I don't think you could say
with absolute certainty that it shouldn't either.
He just struggles so bad with the speed.
He gets off balance,
pushed back.
He's a guy who needs to be in a phone booth, not in an island.
And the phone booth is playing on the interior,
not playing on the island at tackle.
So, I think, quite frankly,
the most disappointing thing from a player perspective
about this game is J.C. Latham's performance.
Because he's just not getting better,
and I highlighted him as a guy
that had to be a player to watch in this game,
and he was a disappointment.
And Dan Moore, we know what we're getting from
Dan Moore. But J.C. Latham, top 10 pick. And it just continues to make Rancartthon's decisions,
whether it be his picks in the draft, whether it be the free agent signings, the trades.
Rancartan's decisions get worse and worse and worse every single day because Latham,
I can't say with certainty right now that he should be an offensive tackle in the NFL.
And I know that there are some guys like a Brandon Thorne, who's one of the smartest NFL,
analysts in the world knows 100% more about offensive line technique and play than I do.
But I'm sorry, watch the tape every week and you can't sit here and tell me that
J.C. Latham is playing good football and that his anchor isn't disappointing.
You can't. You can't. I'm sorry, you can't. I watch his team every week nonstop.
He has been a disappointment. There's no way around it. But even Kevin Winston.
But here's let me say this. Kevin Winston made some splash plays early.
he got taken advantage of a little bit in space,
some route recognition stuff.
We knew that that was something he needed to improve on out of college.
Like we're talking about with Cam Ward, you know,
some of these rookies, we know they're in a bad situation,
they're rookies seeing stuff for the very first time.
It's not like Latham at the end of year two
who needs to start taking steps forward.
Look at Pete Skoronsky at the back end of year two.
He really started to take steps forward.
That game against Jacksonville had finished.
the season, he was dominant.
And now he's a really good player.
We aren't seeing that from J.C. Latham so far.
And now he's going to have to go up against Miles Garrett next week.
So I'm sorry, I see Kevin Winston and Elico Manor and Cam Ward a little differently
than I see J.C. Latham and how we evaluate those players.
But with that being said, again, it was a friendly reminder of how bad the Titans are.
The tank is on.
And hey, we got good news from a tank perspective.
The Jets won a football game.
Let's update the tank.
I do want to let you guys know that today's episode is brought to you by prize picks.
The holiday season is one of the best times for sports.
You got bowl games, big basketball matchups, the playoff push.
It's all happening at once.
And while we're all making choices every day,
one of the most fun places to make the right call is prize picks.
Prize picks is the easiest way to get in on daily fantasy.
You just pick more or less on at least two player projections,
your lineup and you're in the game. It's simple, it's fast, it's available in 45 states
including California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Price picks adds an extra layer of excitement
to holiday sports. You just create a lineup in less than a minute and the app makes the whole
process smooth and intuitive. They have a stacks feature, they have an early payout feature,
they have an injury feature where if your guy gets hurt early in the contest, it can save your
lineup from a loss, download the Price Picks app today, use the code locked on NFL to get
$50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup.
That's code locked on NFL to get $50 in lineups
after you play your first $5 lineup.
It's prize picks.
It's good to be right.
Titans fans.
of the Locked-on Titans podcast.
Looking at that despicable, discouraging, depressing, embarrassing loss
for the Tennessee Titans against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Again, it was an organizational loss
that highlights just how bad, down bad, this team is.
But some of the individual performances that were bad
added into why this game was so miserable.
But,
if you want a spot of brightness, you guys know,
I like to finish the show with some optimism.
I like to end on a note to send Titans fans out of here.
with a little bit of hope, okay?
The tank got stronger.
All right, the Titans lose.
They're still the only team in the NFL with only one loss.
And you start to look at the teams that have two wins themselves.
And we got some good news.
And let me remind you, the reason why this matters so much
is because the Titans have the most difficult strength of schedule in the NFL
and strength of schedule is the number one tiebreaker
for draft positioning in the NFL.
So if the Titans and another team have the same exact record,
whoever has the stronger strength of schedule,
gets the lesser pick.
So if you have the same amount of losses
against an easier schedule,
technically you were a worse team.
So if the Titans have the same amount of wins as another team,
they're not going to get the better pick.
So the Titans basically have to have full position
of the last worst record in the NFL
or they're not getting the number one pick.
They have to, okay?
With that in mind,
the Titans drop to 1 in 11
and the New York Jets
beat the Atlanta Falcons.
Massive, massive for the Titans
because there are four other teams
that have two wins.
Four other teams
and we've got to watch those
because if the Titans get one win
they're right in there.
But there are four other teams.
Those teams are the New York Jets
who just won a game
and now they have three wins on the season.
Great news.
The Las Vegas Raiders
who are currently losing to the Los Angeles Chargers
and I would imagine that they do lose to the Chargers, right?
I would be shocked if the Raiders come back and win that game.
But sure, maybe you're listening to this and they did.
Great. Celebrate even more.
The New Orleans Saints
who are terrible, they're 2 and 10.
And then the Giants are 2 and 10
and they play the Patriots on Monday Night Football
this week. You may be listening to this on Monday morning.
They play later tonight.
Maybe the Giants pull off a win against Mike Grable's Patriots.
I doubt it.
All right. I doubt it.
So really, we're looking at the Giants,
the Raiders, and the Saints right now.
Okay?
Well, the Titans play Cleveland next week.
Cleveland has three wins.
They ain't beaten the Browns.
It sucks.
We'll talk more about that tomorrow.
Brace yourselves Titans fans
because the Shador Sanders is better than Cam Ward conversation
is going to be thick this week.
And especially after the Browns whoop the Titans,
it's going to be even thicker.
But way better coaching, way better defense.
Miles Garrett.
It's not even close to situations comparable, in my opinion.
Even though the Browns are not a good football team as well,
that's how bad that this is the worst Tennessee Titans football team I've ever seen
I think this is one of the worst NFL teams of the last 25 years
the Browns are just regular bad
the Titans are all-time bad this year
but anyway
Titans are at the Browns
but after that they play the Chiefs
they play the 49ers
they aren't winning those games
the game to watch is against New Orleans
the Titans are at home against the Saints
in week 17
that's a dangerous one right there
And then they finish with Jacksonville.
They aren't winning that game.
Jacksonville will be fighting for the playoffs.
But then you go to the Saints.
They play at Tampa Bay next week.
They're not winning that.
Then they're home for Carolina.
They're not winning that.
Then they play the Jets at home.
And I know the Jets just won
and the Jets have three wins.
But New Orleans can beat the Jets at home.
Okay?
And if they do that, they go to three wins.
Then the Titans could beat New Orleans next week,
Week 17 at home.
And the Titans would only have two wins.
Orleans would have three. So that New Orleans
against the Jets game is massive now. Massive. We need New Orleans
to win that game. And then if the Titans beat the Saints the next week, it won't
hurt them. That is the biggest game on the schedule. And then you look at the
Giants, the Giants are at New England, then they play the commanders, they could
beat the commanders at home, then they play Minnesota, they could beat
Minnesota, and then they play at Las Vegas, they could beat the, I think the
Giants, the Giants are going to win one or two more games.
They're not going to be a threat to the Titans.
They finish with the Cowboys.
So really, you have the Raiders and you have the Saints.
Those are the two teams that I'm worried about the most.
But with Gino Smith at quarterback, I think there's a good chance
that the Raiders could find a way to beat the Giants.
Because the Raiders, the Raiders go, they're chargers now.
Denver, Philly, Houston, the Giants in Kansas City.
I really do think
I really do think that the Raiders
might be the biggest threat to the Titans right now
it's them or the Saints for sure
so we need the Saints to beat the Jets
we need the Raiders to beat the Giants
or the Titans could just lose all their games
but I'm telling you as bad as it looks right now
I do think the Titans beat the New Orleans Saints
in Week 17
but if you were somebody who was saying to me
Tyler
you're an idiot
the Titans need to do
lose this game. I don't
want them to win.
Hate that. No, they need to lose all
their games. Well, this was
the weekend for you. Because
if we can't be excited about the game
we can at least be excited about the prospects
of the pick and they did get better
this week. But with that being
said, that's going to do it for me
today folks. As always,
I am your host, Tyler Rowan
and this was Locked on
Titans.
You know,
