The Tennessee Titans take on the New York Jets at home in week two, and I think the
Tennessee Titans win this game, and I don't think that it's close.
I'm going to break down my keys to victory for the Titans.
I'm going to look at the players to watch for the Titans,
and I'll give you my official prediction,
score prediction for this game,
as well as some fantasy and some gambling advice as well.
Before we get into all of it,
do want to thank you for making the Locked on Titans podcast your first listen each and every day.
Remember, Monday through Friday,
Tennessee Titans content all year round,
always for free.
You're not going to beat that anywhere else.

It's your team every day.
Speaking of every day, shout out to my everydayers out there.
Tune in Monday through Friday.
If you aren't an everydayer, you need to be one
because I'm going to be going live immediately after the game ends on Sunday
to break down all the action.
And then,
of course, we'll analyze what happened and then move forward to the week three game next week as
well. A lot going on here. Also, on the Tic Tac Titans YouTube channel on Friday, I'm going to
have a game plan video showing you where I think the Jets are susceptible, which we're going to
talk about in today's show, and how I think the Titans system matches up to take advantage of that. I'll be referencing some
old stuff from the Titans in the preseason and week one, so I hope you guys tune in for that.
But with that being said, we got to start with my keys to victory. And number one, this isn't like
a true key to victory, but it's something that we have to talk about. The New York Jets went all the way across the country
for Monday night football.
Then they got to fly all the way back to New York,
and then they got to go again to Tennessee.
That's a lot of travel.
I think that it gives the Titans an advantage.
Short week, lots of cross-country travel.
That helps the Tennessee Titans in this game.
But looking at some other key to victories,
the top three key to keys to victory for me.
The Titans have to run the ball.
I know I said it last week,
but it is absolutely the truth once again.
But it's not just about running the football.
It's about how they do it.
So the Tennessee Titans have a lot
more gap runs in their scheme this year with pullers and down blocks. Remember with Derrick
Henry for a lot of those years, it was wide zone. The Titans just ran a zone system. Well, San
Francisco dominated the New York Giants with outside zone runs. 108 of the 180 rushing yards that the San Francisco 49ers had against the Jets
came outside the tackles.
23 of their 28 runs on the night were zone runs, not gap runs.
So I know the Titans have implemented a lot more gap into their system
with Bill Callahan being the run game czar.
But for me, the Titans need to go with more zone runs like what we saw from them against
New Orleans in the preseason. All right. Or it was San Francisco in the preseason,
the first game of the year. The Titans were using Chigaconquo in motion,
and then they were going to zone runs, outside zone, mid zone runs. And I think that's what
the Titans need to do. Now, it's not only zone. I think zone runs, outside zone, mid-zone runs. And I think that's what the Titans need to do.
Now, it's not only zone.
I think zone runs need to be the primary focus for the Titans here.
But they could also use some of those buck sweeps that they ran in the preseason
where they had the center and the guard pulling outside.
They could do some of those pinpool toss sweeps that they've been running
where everybody down blocks and they get pullers out to the perimeter.
I think those runs will be effective too,
but I think the Titans need to mix in more zone
than maybe we should expect from them
throughout the entire season as a whole.
This would be a zone-heavy week.
And what I've been talking about is the Titans should have the answers
to all the tests,
not just be boxed in to one kind of system
or one style of running.
They need to be able to do everything.
That's what Brian Callahan was brought here to do
is give the Titans the answers to every test
that they may see from a defense.
Having the zone runs and hitting heavy zone runs to the outside.
See, the Jets like to run four-man fronts.
They don't like to put five people on the line of scrimmage.
They like to put four people on the line of scrimmage.
And when you do that, you make double teams and climbing up to the second level easier because there's less congestion on the
defensive line. It's what we talked about. The Bears made their adjustment at halftime and started
crowding the defensive, crowding the offensive line a little bit more to make it harder for the
Titans to get to some of those things. So I think the Titans can really take advantage of the four
man front to the Jets if they go with a heavy zone run plan. But outside of that, they need to blitz Aaron Rodgers.
So if you watch that game against the San Francisco 49ers,
Aaron Rodgers did not want to move.
He did not want to get off his spot.
Look, he's 40 years old,
and he's coming off an Achilles injury.
Aaron Rodgers does not want to run around a lot. Aaron Rodgers does not want to run around a lot.
Aaron Rodgers does not want to move off his spot.
Aaron Rodgers was known for getting out of the pocket
and those cross-body throws and playmaking after things broke down,
but he can't do that right now,
and he probably won't be able to do that as much as he used to
for the rest of his career.
So what do you do?
You bring pressure at him all night long and you
make him move. Make Aaron Rodgers get off his spot. I want to throw some numbers at you guys here.
The Bears, not the Bears, the Jets only gave up one sack and six pressures against San Francisco.
That sounds fantastic, right? One sack is tied for the best on the week. Six pressures is the second best on the week.
But the reason why that is the case is because Aaron Rodgers
was getting rid of the ball so quick.
Aaron Rodgers had a top three time to throw.
That's from when he gets the ball to when he releases it.
He had a top three time to throw this week with 2.47 seconds.
So they didn't get a lot of pressure in San Francisco on Aaron Rodgers
because he was getting rid of the ball so fast. But on the flip side of that, if you're
getting rid of the ball really, really fast, that means you can't take shots
downfield. He only had, Aaron Rodgers, an average depth of
target, a dot, of 7.6 yards. That was 16th in
the NFL. So he's getting rid of the ball quick so that
he doesn't get pressure. He doesn't take hits. He doesn't have to move around in the pocket.
And with that, he's throwing the ball short. He only had a couple of passes that he threw deep
at all. And he barely threw to the right-hand side at all. Almost all of Aaron Rodgers throws
were to the left because then he doesn't have to twist his body and change his feet.
He's already looking that way on the snap. His shoulder is pointed. He doesn't
want to move. Make Aaron Rodgers move. The Titans need to blitz
because under pressure, last week under pressure
Aaron Rodgers was two for four, took
that one sack and only had 14 yards
he does not want to be under pressure
remember when Carson Wentz played
with two rolled ankles against the Titans
a couple of years ago
and he just threw the ball into the ground
because he knew he couldn't take hits
Aaron Rodgers isn't quite that bad
but it's like that
last week San Francisco only blitzed 9% of the time
because they have such a good front four,
they could get to Aaron Rodgers with the front four.
I am not as confident in the Tennessee Titans front four
because of that edge spot.
So I want the Titans to blitz Aaron Rodgers,
come up the A-gap, force him to roll out,
force him to get on the move.
He doesn't want to do it.
Make the old man play like a young man. That's what I want to see on the move. He doesn't want to do it. Make the old man play like a young man. That's
what I want to see from the Titans. And with that, play man coverage. Get in the wide receiver's face.
Press. The Titans only played 9% cover one last week. They played 33% cover three and 24% cover
four. They wanted to play zone defense and confuse Caleb Williams.
You weren't going to confuse Aaron Rodgers.
So play tight.
Disrupt those short passes he wants to throw.
Make him hold the ball.
Make him move around and get pressure on this 40-year-old man.
It's that simple for me.
Also, finally, the last key to victory for me is just don't make any massive mistakes. And I say, please.
No boneheaded moves from Will Levis.
No special teams blunders.
Like, just don't be idiots.
That's all that I'm asking.
So run the football, make Aaron Rodgers move,
and don't make any stupid mistakes.
And the Titans are going to win this game,
and I think they'll win it comfortably.
We're going to look at the players to watch in this game,
and I'll give you my official score prediction as well.

of the Locked on Titans podcast.
We looked at my keys to victory for the Titans.
Run the dang ball.
Blitz Aaron Rodgers.
Don't make any stupid mistakes.
It's that simple.
Again, I think the Titans win this game.
I don't think that it's super close.
I think they bully the New York Jets.
And part of that is certain players have to win their matchups
outside of the trenches.
You can't let certain matchups be dominated by the Jets outside of the trenches
where I think the Titans can really win this game.
So we'll get into those matchups.
Before I do, thank you for making Locked on Titans your first listen.

But looking at my top matchup,
there is a man that was paid quite handsomely by the Tennessee Titans
to come in and take out No. 1 wide receivers.
And his name is LeJarius Sneed.
to come in and take out number one wide receivers.
And his name is LeJarius Sneed.
And that's why LeJarius Sneed is one of my three players to watch in this game.
Last year, LeJarius Sneed held Garrett Wilson to three catches for 24 yards.
If LeJarius Sneed does that again,
the Titans, again, will win this game by quite a bit.
Let's just call it what it is. Outside of Garrett Wilson, the Jets don't have a lot of receiving
options that scare you. What, Tyler Conklin? Not that worried about that. Alan Lazard. Lazard got a broken play
and had good chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. I give him
credit there. But Alan Lazard is
the Jets'
Nick Westbrook-Akene. You're not
overly worried about him. He's a
solid player, but not overly worried.
In the slot, Malachi Corley
didn't do anything. Xavier Gibson
is a good story and a good player, but are you game
planning for Xavier Gibson? No, you're not. Mike
Williams, is he going to be ready to play? Is he going to play enough? That would help
the Jets certainly if he played more than he played on Monday night. But Garrett
Wilson is the head of the snake. If you take away Garrett Wilson,
the Jets are not going to be able to move the ball.
The one good drive that the Jets had against the 49ers
was like five targets to Garrett Wilson.
And not only that, but again, Aaron Rodgers does not want to hold the ball.
That means that they're not taking a lot of deep shots.
They're not doing play-action explosives.
They're not doing double moves down the field.
Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to hold
the ball that long. He's throwing quick fades to Garrett Wilson. He's throwing slants. He's
throwing bubble screens out to him on the outside. So, LeJarrius Sneed, in my opinion, should shadow
Garrett Wilson. That is what the Titans traded and paid LeJarrius Sneed to do, is to take these
number one wide receiver matchups. Now, they didn't do that last week.
Denard Wilson talked about it in Thursday's press conference.
He said that they wanted Legereus Sneed to take the field side
or the boundary side of the defense
because that's where they thought would be a lot of one-on-one matchups.
But they moved Garrett Wilson around, and they put him inside slot.
They put him outside slot. They put him outside slot.
They put him outside.
Move LeJarrius Steed around with him.
Roger McCreary has played enough on the outside,
and if you're putting LeJarrius Steed on Garrett Wilson,
all you do is put Roger McCreary on the smallest guy on the field,
whether it's Xavier Gibson, whether it's Malachi Corley,
whoever it may be.
You put Roger McCreary on that guy,
and then Chito goes with the other outside receiver.
That's what you do.
Legereus team was brought into shadow,
big-time wide receivers,
and if the Titans can eliminate Garrett Wilson,
and quite honestly, I would put safety help over the top.
I'm going to go over it a little bit in tomorrow's
Tic-Tac Titans game preview video,
but what I would do is,
I would have Legereus Sneed and man coverage on Garrett Wilson.
I would play a Monty Hooker over top,
or I would play Quandre Diggs over top of him.
And then I would have the other side of the field play zone.
I'll diagram that again on tomorrow's Tic Tac Titans video,
but that's what I would do.
And LeJarius Sneed is the guy for the job.
You take out Garrett Wilson and you win this game.
It's that simple. So that's how I view things there. Calvin Ridley is the next guy. I think Calvin Ridley, I know that I called
Calvin Ridley and Will Levis last week, but look what was available. And look what Calvin Ridley
stepped up to the plate. Calvin Ridley was open. 115 unrealized air yards that Calvin Ridley should have had
if he got accurate passes.
But now this week, Calvin Ridley,
he was going up against Jalen Johnson a ton last week.
Calvin Ridley will now see Sauce Gardner.
And Sauce Gardner, in my opinion, is a better player than Jalen Johnson.
It's close. They're both awesome.
They're in the top echelon of corners in the NFL.
But Sauce Gardner might be the very best.
And the Jets play a ton of cover one man coverage.
The Jets, Denard Wilson, or I think it was Nick Holtz talked about it.
He said the Jets want to bring five and make five one-on-ones,
and then they want to play man coverage and make five one-on-ones.
Well, the Titans brought Calvin Ridley in here
and paid him $90 million to be a guy who can win one-on-one. So Calvin Ridley needs to win because what's going to happen
is the Jets are going to bring five and they're going to play man coverage in the back end.
And Will Levis is going to have to find someone who's open.
And Calvin Ridley has to be the guy to get open. I think it might be a pretty
good week for DeAndre Hopkins too. If he's fully healthy, which they're saying he's pretty close,
it would be big for DeAndre Hopkins to play way more than he played last week.
Because that's Will Levis' security blanket. But Calvin Ridley is the guy who they paid to get
open fast to be available when teams press and blitz the Titans. So be that guy, Calvin Ridley.
To be available when teams press and blitz the Titans.
So be that guy, Calvin Ridley.
Be that guy.
And then Will Levis has to get it to him.
Obviously, Will Levis is a player to watch in this game.
He's got to bounce back from what happened last week.
He's got to be the leader of this team.
He can't be somebody that the Titans carrier have to be scared of.
I think Will Levis bounces back.
I think Will Levis has a good game.
I think Will Levis faces the pressure. I think Will Levis bounces back. I think Will Levis has a good game. I think Will Levis faces the pressure.
I think Will Levis steps up in this game.
So Will Levis, Calvin Ridley against press coverage and Sauce Gardner,
LeJarius Sneed against Garrett Wilson.
Those are the players that I'm watching for in this game.
What's the score going to be?
And my fantasy and gambling predictions right now.

I broke down what I'm looking for from a keys to victory standpoint, Let's cap off today's game preview edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
I broke down what I'm looking for from a keys to victory standpoint.
Run the ball.
Pressure Aaron Rodgers.
Don't make any critical mistakes.
Talked about my players to watch.
Legereus Sneed.
Calvin Ridley.
Will Levis.
Now I want to give all of my predictions for this game.
I've been teasing it.
Professional tease.
All right.
I've been teasing it all episode long. all right? I've been teasing it all episode long,
but I think the Tennessee Titans win this game,
and I think that they win by double digits.
So I'm going to tell you what my score prediction is. Going to give some gambling and fantasy analysis as well for you guys.
Called Tony Pollard last week.
And Titans plus four and a half was a lock,
if not for Will Levis being insane.
Okay?
So I don't even feel bad about losing that one.
I don't, all right?
Called that right.
The Titans were up 17.
Okay, anyways.
We move on.
I'm still mad.
But anyways, I'll give you my predictions,
and we're going to start with my score prediction.
I have the Tennessee Titans winning this game 23 to 13. It's going to be rainy.
It's going to be ugly. And I think the Titans run the ball down the Jets' throats. I think the
Titans pressure Aaron Rodgers and they create multiple turnovers. I think the Titans get two
turnovers in this game against the New York Jets. 23-13, the Tennessee Titans win.
I think the Titans run for two touchdowns.
I don't think Will Levis throws any, maybe some short ones,
but I think the Titans bludgeon the Jets.
I'll say it.
I hate when I'm this confident about the Titans winning a game
because it never happens the way I think.
But watching the Jets tape,
their defensive line is not what people thought their defensive line was before.
Their defensive line does not have the talent that it has had in recent years.
John Butchko of Locked on Jets broke it down so perfect that I cut it into a clip and put it out.
They have a good back
seven. They have good corners. They have good safeties. They have good linebackers.
But they're small and they're fast.
And the Titans have a power offensive line with big bodies.
The defensive line, Quinn and Williams is a hell of a player.
Don't get, Quinn and Williams is a hell of a player. Don't get,
Quinn and Williams is fantastic.
But losing John Franklin Myers,
Hassan Redick,
not going to play in this game.
Bryce Huff cannot hold up on the edge in the run game.
Jermaine Johnson cannot hold up on the edge in the run game. And Jermaine Johnson opened his mouth and called Will Levis panicky in its bulletin board material. I told you about the
Jets travel issues earlier going all the way across the country to San Francisco, playing on a Monday night game, driving, driving, flying all the way back
to New Jersey, and then on short rest, on a short week, getting on the plane again and going down
to Nashville. That is a lot of travel in the span of about six or seven days. The Jets are going to
be tired from a physical battle
where they got beat up against San Francisco.
Their bodies are going to be worn down from the travel.
And the Titans have the offensive line to bludgeon this team
and the defensive line to stop the run.
And if you stop the run and you get in third and long,
you can blitz Aaron Rodgers, do whatever you want,
and then you're in control.
I think the Titans, I really do think the Titans handle this game.
Again, 23-13.
Now let's move.
Oh, jumped it down a little bit.
To my beautiful, dark, twisted, fantasy player of the week.
I called Tony Pollard last week, like I said a second ago.
I called it.
This week, it's Tajay Spears.
I think that Tajay Spears hits some screens.
I don't think that Tajay Spears will be as good as Tony Pollard down to down,
but I think Tajay Spears breaks two explosive plays in this game.
He's going to have a long catch on a screen pass,
and he's going to have one big-time run.
The Titans are going to have to run more zone this week,
and I think Tajay Spears is going to be really good in the zone runs.
I think Spears gets more opportunities this week,
and I think he breaks two 20-plus-yard plays.
He's going to break some explosives this week.
Tajay Spears is my underrated,
my beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy player of the
game. So that's what I got to say. Also, a second one I had to, I got to throw an honorable mention.
DeAndre Hopkins. I know people are probably scared off Hopkins, but again, I think the Jets are going
to play man coverage and the Titans are going to get Calvin Ridley open against man coverage.
But some of these times, rather than holding on to the ball, Will Levis is just going to
say, screw it, I'm throwing it to Hop.
And I think that's the right move.
So I think Hopkins could have, you know, a solid game, five catches, 70 yards, you know,
something like that.
Maybe a touchdown if things go that way.
But I think, you know, four or five catches,
60 to 70 yards for DeAndre Hopkins, but I think Tajay Spears is an underrated play this week, especially if you're in daily fantasy. Now we move to keeping it plus 100.
My gambling advice for the week, as of this recording, the Tennessee Titans are four-point underdogs at home.
What?
No way, man.
No way.
No way.
People are too spooked by last week's mistakes.
The Titans handled that game.
The Jets looked terrible against San Francisco and all the contributing factors with the travel and the matchups.
The Titans are going to win this game.
And taking them plus four, like I'm taking money line
rather than asking for paying for points.
Like, Titans are winning this game, man.
I really do feel confident about it.
I really do.
The over-under, 41.5. I'm taking the under on that.
It's going to be rainy and nasty in Nashville this weekend.
So I don't think it's going to be crazy high scoring.
And if it is, it's because one team got up big early.
So I'm taking the under.
I'm taking Titans plus four if you want some points.
But I think the Titans win this game 23-13.
And the final thing that I want to tell you guys is game day snacks.
I'm making New York pizza dip this week.
So a lot of you guys enjoyed the game day snacks video last week.
Sadly, next week, not sadly, but I'll be at the game.
I'll be for the Green Bay game.
I'll be in Tennessee at the game.
So I won't be doing a game day snack video for that one.
But this week, I'm going to have New York style pizza dip.
Dips are so good for football.
I can't help it.
I know back to back dips, but I love my dips.
So with that being said, though, that's my predictions.
My keys to victory.
My players to watch.
Fantasy gambling.
You're not going to find a better game preview for the Tennessee Titans.
And in under 30 minutes, nobody's doing it like me here on Locked on Titans.
So thumbs up on the video, tighten up down in the chat.
As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland.
And this was Locked on Titans.
