Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - Tennessee Titans WILL NOT SIGN Stefon Diggs Despite NOT GUILTY Verdict in Recent Court Case

Episode Date: May 7, 2026

The Tennessee Titans could always use more talent and there is no doubt Stefon Diggs is a talented player. There is also the connection to Brian Daboll from their time in Buffalo with the Bills, but i...f Mike Borgonzi is really stuck on having a proper culture in the locker room, adding Diggs just doesn't make sense. Whether Diggs was guilty or innocent isn't as important as the fact that he simple creates non-stop distractions with his off-field activities. It would be quite a stray off the path for the Titans to add the veteran wide receiver.   LOCKED ON TITANS EVERYDAY CLUB: https://lockedontitans.supercast.com/   Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans   TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop...   Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans   Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod   Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LockedOnTitans   Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it’s time to make it official. Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm not against it, but the Tennessee Titans are not going to sign Stefan Diggs. And I'll tell you why on today's edition of Locked on Titans. You are Locked on Titans, your daily Tennessee Titans podcast, part of the Locked On Podcast Network, your team every day. Welcome to the Locked on Titans podcast. I am your host, Tyler Rowland Titans fans on today's show. We're going to talk about why I'm okay if the Titans make. no additional ads at the wide receiver position.
Starting point is 00:00:38 We'll also talk about Mike Forganzi's moral compass in the locker room, and I'll use that as a reason to explain why I don't think the Tennessee Titans will sign Stefan Diggs, even though he was recently found not guilty in his court case. Now, that's probably the best place to start. So Stefan Diggs was found not guilty, and the situation with his private chef and all of that, you can look into the details of the court case yourself.
Starting point is 00:01:04 if you want. But what really matters is he was found not guilty. And I think that that is going to be somewhat of a door that finally opens for Stefan Diggs to find his next NFL team because the reality is Stefan Diggs, while maybe not being prime Stefan Diggs at this point in time, is still a pretty good player. I mean, you look at what he did last year with New England. I think he really, really helped Drake May take that next step forward. He was a thousand yard receiver last year, 85 catches, a thousand and thirteen yards and four touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Like that's still a very productive player in the NFL and somebody who could certainly help Cam Ward. And you think about the connection to Brian Dable, they spent a few years together with the Buffalo Bills. Dable would know how to use him. It would enhance the talent on the Tennessee Titans wide receiver group. All of that stuff makes sense. And that's why I would tell you,
Starting point is 00:01:55 if the Titans did sign Stefan Diggs, I wouldn't be upset about it. I wouldn't be angry like it makes sense. We're going to add as much talent as we, possibly can to this offense, the easiest ways that we can to help Cam Ward, we don't care. You know, there's a veteran wide receiver curse on the Titans. We don't care if we already have an older veteran and Calvin Ridley. What's the problem with having more?
Starting point is 00:02:19 We're just going to have more. Like, that all would make sense. So if they did sign Stefan Diggs, I wouldn't be upset about it again. But they're not going to sign Spondix. I don't care whether he was found not guilty, innocent, whatever you want to call it, it just doesn't make a lot of sense because, and it reminds me of a scene from the dark night. You remember when Morgan Freeman goes to China to meet with Mr. Lau, the guy who's laundering the money for the mob,
Starting point is 00:02:49 and he says, you know, this issue with the Gotham Police Department, and Morgan Freeman says, well, unfortunately, we can't be seen to do business with whatever it is, you're accused of being. a businessman of your stature will certainly understand. Stefan Diggs may be innocent. And Stefan Diggs may never have been convicted of some serious crime or serious offense of any kind. But it's just constant off-field distractions.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Whether he's guilty, whether he's innocent, at some point, it's just the constant issues you deal with. He's on a boat with girls and there's a mysterious substance. and he's doing TikToks talking about his drama with Cardi B. And, you know, he's doing, having a court case with his chef and a civil suit. And it's just nonstopping at some point. It's not about whether he was guilty of this, guilty of that. Oh, he was partying on a boat.
Starting point is 00:03:52 A lot of players do that. Oh, you don't know if that was his or blah, blah, well. Oh, you know, everybody has, you know, drama with spouses. And, you know, we obviously see that all around the NFL. But at some point in time, it's a pattern of behavior that the Tennessee Titans just simply don't want to subject themselves to it. At the end of the day, the man making the decision is Mike Borganz. And if Mike Borganzi is a man of his work, if he is someone who truly cares about the culture of the team, the locker room, what kind of people we bring in here,
Starting point is 00:04:28 whether Stefan Diggs was innocent or guilty, doesn't matter. it's a pattern of behavior where he is constantly in trouble, constantly in the news, constantly in some drama. It's just nonstop. And at this point, is all of that, all the baggage that comes with Stefan Diggs worth? I go back to, and this is definitely lower on the scale of things, but I think it's another example. You remember when the Minnesota Vikings put out a video
Starting point is 00:04:55 and they were asking players in the locker room, who on the team would you least want to date your sister. Unanimous across the board. Stefan Diggs, Stefan Diggs, immediate. Let's just call it what it is here. Stefan Diggs ain't a good guy.
Starting point is 00:05:14 He's not a good man. Not a good person. He's a good football player, but he's not a good person. All right. So like, at this point, with everything that's happened,
Starting point is 00:05:26 with who Mike Borgonzi is, I get the logic behind wanting more talent at wide receiver and Diggs still being a good player, but I'm sorry, I just do not see a path where it's the Tennessee Titans who actually sign him. It just would totally fly in the face of everything Mike Borganzi has said that he wants to do with the locker room. So again, in a vacuum,
Starting point is 00:05:48 having Stefan Diggs would not be bad for the Titans. But in reality, it just does not make a lot of sense for Mike Borgonzi to be the guy to sign him. It just doesn't. So that's where I'm at on that. Maybe I'm wrong. And if I'm wrong, I'm sure all of you will be back here to tell me I was wrong. But I wouldn't be mad about Stefan Diggs getting added.
Starting point is 00:06:10 I just do not believe that that's what the Tennessee Titans are going to do. Now, a part of that is I'm not really that thirsty. Again, I wouldn't be against it. I wouldn't be mad. But I'm not really that thirsty to add anybody at wide receiver because I want to see these young guys play. Do want to let you know that today's episode is brought to you. by better help. May is Mental Health Awareness Month,

Starting point is 00:09:11 of the Locked On Titans podcast. Again, we talked about the Stefan Digg situation. I do not believe that the 10th, Tennessee Titans are going to sign Stefan Diggs. I'm going to plant my flag on that. I don't think that it's going to happen. Part of it is Stefan Diggs situation, my four Gonsie situation.
Starting point is 00:09:27 But the other part of it is we need to see these young wide receivers blossom. And if you bring in a guy like Stefan Diggs, when you already have an older guy like Calvin Ridley, and you already have a guy in Wondale Robinson, who's more of a veteran, where does that leave room for Cornell Tate to grow and blossom? Where does that leave room for Chim D.K. and Ehrlich Iron Manor to continue to get on the field and get better as players.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Like, it just doesn't leave a lot of room for that. And I think with where the Titans are at right now, their number one focus needs to be developing our young players. I don't think the Tennessee Titans are in a position right now where they need to go win now moves. You know, oh, we're going all in this season. Let's bring in digs. Let's do this.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Let's do that. Like, I just don't think that that's the, if the Titans are going to make a move like that, I have said over and over, make it Joey Bosa. Go get an edge rusher that you don't have right now. Joey Bosa would be the older veteran to take a shot on here. For that matter, bring back Kevin Zitler. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:10:28 But like, wide receiver, I know there's talent out there right now with Juan Jennings and Tyreek Hill and Stefan Diggs and Debo Samuel and Curtis Samuel. And, you know, there's a lot of wide receivers that people have heard of out there. right now. But again, when you have the young players that the titles have, you have a young quarterback, like Cam Ward. You already have your Stefan Diggs in Calvin Ridley. And look, Stefan Diggs is better than Calvin Ridley. He's
Starting point is 00:11:00 always been better than Calvin Ridley. Every year of his career, he's been better than Calvin Ridley. All right, Stefan Diggs is a better player than Calvin Ridley. But it's not such a big gap in my opinion. Yeah, Stefan Diggs had a thousand yards last year. Well, two years ago, Calvin Ridley had a thousand yards with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. So it's not like Calvin Ridley is so far off of Stefan Diggs that it, you know, is illogical to say something like that. Like Diggs is better, but you know what I mean? And again, every rep that Stefan Diggs would take is a rep that could have been taken by Carnell Tate, Chim D.K. or Elykeye Oman.
Starting point is 00:11:42 and they may not be as good as Stefan Diggs right now, but they may be eventually. And you're delaying, figuring that like, Chim D.K. is a perfect example here. Chim DK. is perfect because DK showed some stuff as a wide receiver late in the year. Now, he may very well be just the utility wide receiver that I have forecasted him as.
Starting point is 00:12:04 He very well may be just that good third wide receiver on your team that can play Z, can play slot, you can be a utility guy, he's a utility infueling. is what I called him. And he's one of the best return man in the NFL. That's a great value pick at 101 for the Titans. That would make the draft pick worth it.
Starting point is 00:12:21 If he was just a solid utility receiver and a great return man, it would be worth it. But maybe he's more. Maybe Chim Dike is more. Maybe Chim DK is already better than Calvin Ridley. Maybe Chim DK is the Titans starting Z of the future. And you have Carnell to Enlist. and Carnell Tate can play Z, he can play X, he can play in the slot.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Cardinal Tate did a little bit of everything at Ohio State, but typically he's going to be the X wide receiver. So if you have Cardinal Tate as your typical X, Chim Dike as your Z, who can go in motion and use his speed, and then you have Wondale Robinson in the slot, that could be a pretty good group going forward. But you're not going to know that. You're not going to have any certainty on,
Starting point is 00:13:11 MDK. If you give any rep that he would have gotten, now to Stefan Diggs. Like, it just, it's not worth it for the Titans. You need to develop your young players. See what you have in those guys.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Grabbing, you know, 33-year-old Stefan Diggs, what's the return on investment there? You know, he's not going to have, have the opportunities he had New England last year to get a thousand yards. He's not a long-term solution at 33. You know, he could be an off-the-field distraction.
Starting point is 00:13:56 There's just no way that all of that outweighs the development of Chimdikew Manor and Cornell Tate. And even Wondale Robinson's only 25, you know, like Wondell Robinson is the same age as Tyron Montgomery. Think about that. Undrafted Free Agent Tyron Montgomery. Wondale Robinson's the same age. Akeem Messador drafted in the first round this year, same age as Wondale Robinson.
Starting point is 00:14:19 He's still young. So, again, I'm going to plant my flag here. I may be wrong, and if I'm wrong, I'm not going to be mad about it, but the Titans are not going to sign Stefan Diggs and that you can clearly see why that wouldn't happen. But with that being said, I'm going to be back with you guys tonight talking about some of the concerns that I have with the Tennessee Titans season ahead
Starting point is 00:14:44 and three things that could lead to a worse season than what we want to see. So make sure that you come back with me because I'm going to talk about the problems and talk about how to fix them as well. But that's going to do it for today's bonus edition. As always, I am your host, Tyler Rowland, and this was Locked on Titans.
