However, rookie undrafted free agent Xavier R...estrepo is a LOCK to make this team for multiple reasons regardless of the numbers. On the opposite side of the spectrum, former first-rounder Treylon Burks is on his last legs and last chance with the team. The Tennessee Titans have a crowded wide receiver room, but make no mistake
Xavier Restrepo is a lock to make the roster.

On today's show, we are going to continue the 2025 Locked on Titans Training Camp Preview with the wide receiver position.
I'm going to tell you why I think Xavier Restrepo is a lock to make the team.
Why I think it's Traylon Burks' last opportunity to talk about the tough spot. Some of these hangar on guys are in heading into training camp. Now, do want to remind you that
last week I started the Locked on Titans training camp preview with quarterback, running back,
tight end, and offensive line. We're doing wide receiver today. We'll do the defense throughout
the rest of the week and I'll have a mail bag at the end of the week as we head into the week where
Tennessee Titans football will return. Training camp begins next week. I got a full training camp
primer ready for you guys before they head on to the practice field on Wednesday. I'm so fired up
to have Tennessee Titans football back in our lives. Let's get fired up together here on the
Locked on Titans podcast.
Thank you for making Locked on Titans your first listen each and every day.

It's your team every day.
Shout out to my every dayers out there.
And if you aren't an every dayer, well, you definitely need to be one.
It's that time of year.
But looking at the wide receiver position, I like to look at my locks to make the roster, the guys who are on the bubble to make the roster,
and then the long shots to make the roster. And for me, there are a ton of locks on this roster at wide receiver.
And I know that that may be strange. You may be thinking the Titans don't have a great wide receiver group.
Why would they have so many locks on the roster?
But I just think all the different roles that different players will play
and also where the players came from make them lock.
So number one Calvin Ridley.
Calvin Ridley is the best wide receiver on the team.
I think Calvin Ridley is a top 20, top 25, top 30 at minimum. Wide receiver in the NFL right now.
I think Van Jefferson is also a lock to make the roster.
Again, Van Jefferson is a veteran player
on a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans.
He's been in the NFL for seven years now,
drafted in 2020, well, not seven years,
like four or five years, I think it is. One not seven years, like four or five years.
I think it is one, two, three, four, five years in the NFL.
He's a size speed guy, six foot one, six foot two, 200 pounds, great speed,
great versatility can play all three different spots for the Titans outside on
both sides inside.
If he has to as a physical slot guy, he could do a little bit of everything, and I think Van Jefferson is just another guy,
a term in the NFL, a jag.
He's just another guy,
but his versatility for what this wide receiver core is,
it's kind of valuable.
They're kind of gonna need a guy like Van Jefferson
because they don't have a lot of talent on the roster,
and his size, speed, and versatility combined together,
I think, makes a big impact for the Tennessee Titans and what they're able to do in the different lineup combinations
they're able to put out there. So Van Jefferson is a lock to me.
I still think that Tyler Lockett is a lock to make this team.
Maybe Tyler Lockett is a guy who gets surpassed on the depth chart throughout the year.
A guy like Chim Dike or a guy like Eliq Iyoman or, you know, a guy like Xavier Restrerepo even start to take snaps from a guy like Tyler Lockett who the Titans have said publicly they just see as a slot.
Okay, even with that in mind, Tyler Lockett's ability to provide depth if those guys get hurt, we're talking about young players, can they make it through the whole season? Inevitably, there will be injuries throughout the year. One week, it doesn't always have to be major.
One week injury, two week injury here,
a rolled ankle, a twisted knee,
a broken finger, like,
things happen out there. You know what I mean?
So, Tyler Lockett
being valuable, experienced
depth, I'm sorry, but I don't
I don't see a logical path
to Tyler Lockett not being on the
football team. So, I know some people think he's on the bubble, and I understand the logic,
and I've talked recently about the logic of why Tyler Lockett would be on the bubble,
just he's an older player, he was cheap,
it wouldn't be that big a deal to move on from him if he gets surpassed by these young guys in training camp.
But I still think his veteran experience, his wisdom in the locker room,
I think Tyler Lockett's a good person.
He's a good guy to have on your football team.
I think his benefit to the team is more than just on the field.
So you add in, he looks like a starter day one right now, even if he gets passed
up by the younger guys, he's still really, really good veteran depth on the football
team. And then you add in the off the field and the locker room value that a guy like Tyler Lockett
brings and I think he's a lock to make the team.
The two drafted rookie wide receivers
and Ellic Io Manor, the 6'1", 6'2", guy out of Stanford,
big physical wide receiver,
could play on the outside for the Titans,
but still has smooth route running
and strong contested catchability.
I think that he's a lock to make the team, obviously. Chim Dike is the 6'1 slot guy out of Florida. Great on deep crossing routes,
4.3 speed, a blazer to get down the field, can play multiple different spots within the
offense at wide receiver as well. His versatility, those two drafted guys in the fourth and fifth
round respectively with Dike and Io, I think they 100% are locks to make the team and that brings me to my ultimate point of
that's five wide receivers Ridley, Jefferson, Lockett, AO and DK. Xavier
Restrepo is a lock to make this team. I'm sorry I know that that's not
conventional wisdom and I know that he's an undrafted free agent.
But did you hear Brian Callahan's recent interview?
On the OTP?
Where he talked about the rookie class
as a whole, and he mentioned Chim Dike,
Elec Iowamanner,
Restrepo. He actually said Elec Restrepo, Chim.
He put Restrepo second.
An undrafted free agent is being brought up as a guy
who is impressing the veteran defensive players
with the way that they play.
We already heard about Xavier Restrepo's performance
in mandatory mini camp and how he was leading the team
and catches certain days.
It wasn't just Cam Ward, his buddy from college, all the different
quarterbacks were finding Xavier Restrepo in big situations to get
quick completions and move the chains.
And he is serving his role so perfectly.
The 40 yard dash, he ran a 4-8 at Miami's pro day.
And that's why he went undrafted.
Ultimately, we are going to look at it as a blessing in disguise.
Not only
is Xavier Restrepo a lock to make this roster in my opinion, but he's a lock to be on this
football team for a couple of years at minimum. Xavier Restrepo is going to be a player that
makes plays and is relied on. I'm not saying he's going to be Amon Ross St. Brown and
be a star wide receiver, but he's going to be a guy that we count on, that we know can
play his role with Cam Ward for years to come. This isn't a one-and-done situation
for Xavier Restrepo. He would get picked up off waivers the moment that the
Titans cut him. They can't afford to do that. I'm sorry but if David Martin
Robinson and Thomas Odecolle can make the Tennessee Titans roster last year
and be preserved then Xavier Restrepo can make this Tennessee Titans roster last year and be preserved, then Xavier
Restrepo can make this football team. So I have six locks at the wide receiver
position. I don't think that there is a ton of room for change within that quite
frankly. I think that the only thing that could change that room right there is if the Titans just keep
Seven wide receivers and if they keep seven wide receivers
There's quite a few guys who are on the bubble to get that shot including
Traylon Burks a former first-round pick who's gonna get his last chance
And I think it's against an undrafted free agent from last year
and I think it's against an undrafted free agent from last year.

["Titan's Theme Song"]
Titans fans, let's continue today's breakdown and preview of the wide receiver position. Again, the Tennessee Titans start training camp next week.
They'll be out on the practice field on Wednesday.
I hit the rest of the offense last week, wide receiver, then the defense the
rest of this week, a mail bag to finish out this week, and then I'm going to have a full training
camp private going over the biggest battles, going over my most excited players to watch,
biggest question mark, so much to discuss next week, this week on the show Titans football right
around the corner. Make sure that you get subscribed, stay subscribed. It's your team every day and if you aren't an everydayer, right now is the perfect time to
become one. But with that being said, who's on the bubble at the wide receiver position? I told you
guys who I think my locks are. Xavier Restrepo is a lock in my opinion to make this roster,
which means I have six locked up wide receiver spots. If the Titans keep a
seventh wide receiver, which some people think they will more than I do, I'm not quite convinced
that the Titans will be keeping a seventh wide receiver. I'm not quite sure about that because
I'm not quite as sure about the options that remain, but there are some people out there who
truly do believe this team is going to keep seven wide receivers and there isn't a lot of wiggle room there and that's what they should do but
that's because the bubble is the bubble for a reason. Some people hire on people on the bubble
then you would think there are people out there who think the Tennessee Titans should give Treland
Burks one more chance. Let him make the roster, see what he can do. It doesn't mean that you gotta
prioritize him like they did last year, which Brian Callahan has admitted was a mistake.
Playing Traylan Burks over Nick Westbrook-Akene for the beginning of the season was a mistake by
the Titans. They were sitting the better player, but Brian Callahan admitted Traylan Burks being a
former first round pick. You know, they wanted to see what they could get out of him.
And quite frankly, as I said, when that interview came out, I agree with that.
He should have played Trelin Burks over Nick Westbrook-Akine.
You know what you have in Nick Westbrook-Akine.
You know what he's going to give you.
You know who he is.
You can say, oh, he scored nine touchdowns.
Guys, if you've really watched the player for the last you know that Nick Westbrook
Akina isn't a nine touchdown a season type player. That's not the kind of guy that he is
He's a fourth or fifth wide receiver. He's a depth wide receiver
That's what his role should be in the NFL and the Titans because their wide receiver talent was so poor after the AJ Brown trade
Titans, because their wide receiver talent was so poor after the AJ Brown trade, forced Nick Westbrook-Kinay into roles that weren't best suited for his talent level, which led to overshooting what his normal production should be based on the talent that he is, and it made Titans fans think that he was better than he actually was, but really he was just being force-fed opportunities, because he was the only reliable wide receiver that the Titans had at certain points throughout the last few years.
And he deserves his credit.
I'm not trying to diminish how fans should feel about Nick Westbrook-Akine as a contributor
to the Tennessee Titans, but realistically speaking, you got to give a guy like Traylen
Burke's opportunities over a guy like Nick Westbrook-Akine at least at first.
If he doesn't earn it anymore. He falls apart
He gets injured again like he did
Then you pivot but I can't blame Brian Callahan for that. But this year
No, we ain't doing that. You've had your chance now Traylin
You've had three seasons to make something of yourself and to prove that you deserve to be on an NFL roster
Not even starting deserve that you need to be around I mean think about it in three
seasons 27 games a quick math carry the two that's nine a year average of nine
games a year 53 catches 699 yards doesn't even have 700 yards in his career.
One touchdown that he caught and he got injured on it.
That's the Traylon Burks experience.
Was a dirty hit though.
But he did have the one touchdown where
Derrick Henry fumbled on the screen pass
and the ball popped forward.
That was his first touchdown.
Should have been a bad omen.
Quite honestly that his first touchdown
came in a play of that kind.
But the point is here is that last year, okay, Trey Lindberghs is healthy, coming into camp,
we're new coaching staff, new system, let's give him a free chance.
But you don't get that kind of rope. You don't get that kind of benefit at a doubt this year if you're Trey Lindberghs.
And quite honestly, the only reason I think the Titans could keep him on the team is because
his 4.5 million guaranteed is already paid to him. He has his four and a half million dollars for
this season. The Titans aren't going to save any money on the salary cap or any cash flow. They're
not going to save any money by cutting Traylen Burks. He's got his money for the year. So at that
point even if it's as a sixth or seventh wide receiver, why not keep them
around just in case?
That's the only way that Traylon Burks is making this team.
But there's no way that Traylon Burks is going to be more helpful to this team this year
than Calvin Ridley, Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett, Elikayo Manor, Chim Dike, Xavier Restrepo.
Like I'm sorry, there's just no way I will not be fooled again. So it's Traylenburgs' last chance this training camp. He's on the bubble.
You look at the bubble options, he is firmly on the bubble to make this team,
but he's fallen off it quick. He is not a lock by any means.
And to be a former first round pick in your fourth season and not be a lot to make the roster even with your money already paid
That's a disaster and it is one of the one of the most disastrous
Transactions in NFL history AJ Brown's a Hall of Fame wide receiver and they traded him for a guy who might not even be in
the NFL
Outside of his rookie contract. I would not be shocked at all.
If Traylen Burks gets cut, goes to another team,
flames out and retires after the season.
I would not be shocked if a year from now,
Traylen Burks is no longer in the NFL by choice.
Doesn't seem like a guy who loves football.
Can you trade it?
Oh man, whatever.
But the point is he's on the bubble
and there's only two other guys in my opinion that are on the bubble and number one is the guy who
I think if you had to actually ask me who if the Titans kept seven wide
receivers who the seventh wide receiver would be it wouldn't be Traylen Berks in
my opinion it would be Bryce Oliver. Bryce Oliver was an undrafted free agent last season who really
impressed in Tennessee Titans training camp. Came out of Youngstown State I
believe. I think he was at Kentucky for a little bit but 6'1", 215 pounds. I would
imagine he might have bulked up a little bit but he appeared in 10 games for the
Titans last year had six catches
95 yards got four first downs I remember I forget the opponent but it was a good Will
Levis game is when we were we were excited about Will Levis it might have been the Minnesota Vikings
or the Los Angeles Chargers the New England Patriots one of those games but it was a third
down and long and Will Levis ripped a poster out into Bryce Oliver.
Looked good. Bryce Oliver looked good. Might have been the commander's game. I think that's one of those anyway. Could be Houston too. But regardless, Bryce Oliver had
some okay moments last year for the Titans and he had a really, really good final day of mandatory mini camp. If you remember back made some big plays.
So Bryce Oliver is a guy who is gaining the trust of the coaching staff.
And it's funny to me that Burks is the ultra talented first round pick,
but really it's the undrafted free agent who grinded his way to an opportunity
who will actually be the guy who takes Traylen
Burks opportunity away from him. And if that isn't the NFL in a nutshell, the former first
round pick who didn't love it and want it enough, getting knocked out of a roster spot
on his rookie contract by an undrafted free agent who earned it and who lives and breathes
it. That's the NFL. That's what we love about
the NFL. Now, I do want to give credit here. The last guy, the last guy on the bubble is
James Prochet. We don't talk about James Prochet anymore after he got signed by the Titans.
We just don't even mention him anymore. He's out of the conversation entirely.
But James Prochet, I think, is the third guy who has a chance to be the seventh wide receiver.
5'11", 193, the size doesn't give him as much ability to help the Titans on coverage units, on special teams. It also gives him less versatility from a wide receiver. He can't play
teams, it also gives him less versatility from a wide receiver. He can't play Z wide receiver, X wide receiver on the boundary. He's a guy who's going to play inside in the slot. To me, he was
a veteran version of what the Titans hoped Jaquan Jackson would be. He could play a little in the
slot. Again, he's been in the NFL for five seasons, played for two different teams, Baltimore and then Cleveland,
more of a slot guy, only 299 yards and 28 catches in his NFL career,
but special teams is why he's on the bubble for me.
James Prochet was brought in because he can return.
That's the reality.
So, in his career, 68 punt returns, 591 yards. That is a 8.7 average,
pretty decent. It's not awful. It's not great either, but it's okay. So he's a guy that can be
a full-time punt returner for the team if they decide they need one.
If Restrepo or DK can't step up and take that position.
So if nobody steps up to be the starting punt returner and Proche is by far the best starting
punt returner, the Titans won't play around with that again and he could make the roster as a
seventh wide receiver solely to be the punt returner.
You hope for roster versatility purposes that that's not the case.
I don't want James Prochet to make the roster because to me that would say none of the other
options on the roster are good enough to be the punt returner and now literally like you
do with a long snapper, you are using a roster position on a special teams only player whose only role really on the team
is a special teams role.
You can't have more than three specialists like you have kicker, you have punter, you
have long snapper.
You can't have too many of those.
It ruins your roster flexibility.
So I think it would be a bad thing if Prochet made it,
but he certainly is on the bubble to make the team
if things break a certain way.
But that leaves out four people.
And some of them are names that you would recognize.
They're hanging onto their spot, but it's a new era.
And I don't think they're gonna be able to hang on
for much longer.
to hang on for much longer. Titans fans, let's cap off today's edition of the Locked on Titans podcast.
We've talked about Xavier Restrepo being a lock to make the roster along with
five other wide receivers who I think are a lock. We talked about the three guys
on the bubble and why Traylon Burks is having his last opportunity here in this
training camp and why. Gonna finish with the people who I think they're in a
tough spot to try to hang on here. Now before we dive into it do want to let
you guys know the Locked On NFL Top 100 list will be released on Wednesday,
July 16, this Wednesday at 10 AM Eastern on Locked On Sports
Today.
The NFL Top 100 was actually voted on
by all the Locked On NFL hosts.
And there are some stunners.
Don't miss where your favorite players were ranked.
Subscribe to Locked On Sports Today on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts I gotta tell you
I don't think there's gonna be very many Tennessee Titans on the list of the top
100 but still always fun to see where guys rank with that being said though
again there are long shots these are the guys who I think are long shots to make the roster and three of them are very familiar names.
So, number one, Jaquan Jackson. Jet Jackson, out of Tulane, again, 5'10", 5'11", slot guy, smaller, should have been the Titans punt returner, should have been the slot wide receiver of the future
for the Titans, but man, Jaquan Jackson just absolutely flunked his first year.
He muffed, what, three or four punts by the end of the season, got benched as a punt returner,
as a wide receiver, he barely got opportunities, I think he had that reverse against the Detroit Lions that got
called back on penalty where he went for a touchdown but he didn't really make any big plays other than
that or any notable plays I should say other than that throughout the entire season he got passed up
in my opinion by a guy like Bryce Oliver who was an undrafted free agent the Titans go out they
bring in Xavier Restrepo they bring in two drafted wide receivers in AO and DK.
Like that is a clear sign that we do not like
the young wide receivers we have.
And I think Jaquan Jackson is a major long shot
to make this roster.
And I would go as far as to say,
I think it is impossible for Jaquan Jackson
to make this roster.
Chim Dike is a guy who's gonna be able to play
on the inside.
They've said they see Tyler Lockett as a slot only. Xavier Restrepo is a slot only. Calvin Ridley can play in the slot.
Van Jefferson can play as a big physical slot.
There are so many people that can play in the slot for the Tennessee Titans, including James Prochet, who again is like the veteran,
more reliable version of a Jaquan Jackson.
Absolutely zero chance in my opinion that Jaquan Jackson, absolutely zero chance in my opinion
that Jaquan Jackson is going to find a way to make this roster.
I think Ran Carthon was a fool and went out and got Tajay Spears' best friend, because
Ran Carthon had a weird fascination with Tajay Spears.
Every time he talked about him, it's like he loved him like a son.
And he goes out and gets his best buddy in college.
I was excited about Jaquan Jackson.
I thought it was a good fit. But it is obvious that he did not take advantage and now he's
been replaced by multiple people on a different wavelength. I will say Mason Kenzie. It's
the same thing with Mason Kenzie, right? Like, not the same thing because of the draft
that they, but just there is no room for Mason Kinsey anymore. You have a James Prochet who
can be that full-time punt returner if the Titans go that route. It's not going to be
Mason Kinsey. James Prochet gives you more as a returner than Mason Kinsey does. Mason
Kinsey is just going to catch the ball and get hit or fall down or fair catch like there's no potential there for explosive
Kinsey is never
Going to be explosive enough of it as an athlete
Or big enough as an athlete to be a consistent
Rotational player as a wide receiver for the Titans. It's just not going to happen
I think this is Mason Kinsey we talk about Traylon Burks,
I think this is Mason Kenzie's last rodeo
with the Titans as well this season.
Because at some point,
when you're somebody in the role that Mason Kenzie is in,
which congratulations to him, awesome.
He's been in the NFL for multiple years
as a practice squad player, a guy,
I mean, you're part of a football team,
you're in the NFL,
practicing against these NFL starters,
giving them a look, filling your role.
That sounds way better than selling cars or doing insurance
or sitting at a cubicle doing customer service, right?
I've done all those things.
I'd rather play football, you know?
And then he's gonna get paid more
on an NFL practice squad per week
than you're gonna make at a lot of these regular jobs
that you could get, even good jobs.
I'm not saying that the jobs are bad.
I had a lot of customer service desk jobs that I love.
I sit behind a desk all the day now.
You know, I'm not saying, I'm hating on that,
but I would much rather be a practice squad NFL player
for four years than work customer service
for cell phones for four years out of
college. You know what I mean? So shout to Mason Kinsey for living the dream. But when you're
that type of role player for a football team in the NFL, eventually what happens is why would we
have a guy in that role who's 27, 28, when we could get a guy in that role who's 27, 28,
when we could get a guy in that role who's 22, 23,
who may ultimately turn into a player
that we use on our roster eventually,
who has more upside and potential?
Like at some point, you know,
the very bottom of the NFL talent pool,
it's somewhat of like a foster situation
where you age out eventually.
And people just don't, it's a sad comparison if we're honest, but it's true, you know?
Once you get to a certain age, people just don't care about helping you anymore.
And they're gonna focus on helping people younger than you.
And Mason Kinsey has made it to that point. Colton Dow is kind of in between.
Colton Dow was the seventh round pick for the Titans last year, or two years ago.
The injury obviously derailed a lot of his time with the Titans blew out his knee at the end of his first year.
And he just, you know, he's just a guy who liked Kwon Jackson, like Mason Kinsey.
His time is just out.
He's been surpassed by guys who are better than him, who could play his role.
Like, why would Colton Dowell get any opportunities instead of Bryce Oliver?
Why would Colton Dowell get any opportunities instead of Elekiah Mannor?
The odds are just so stacked against him at this point.
And then finally,
TJ Sheffield, who is the other undrafted free agent wide receiver the Titans brought in this year,
out of Connecticut. He's another slot guy, 5'10", 188 pounds, gonna have an opportunity to be a kick
returner, a punt returner, but going back full circle, we talked about that Brian Callahan
interview. He didn't mention TJ Sheffield.
He mentioned Xavier Restrepo. This team does not have room for two undrafted free agent wide
receivers from this year's class on the roster. It's just not going to happen. It's not. So,
let me know what wide receivers you believe in, what wide receivers you think will make the team.
That's the entire group there, and we'll see how they separate themselves during preseason games and throughout the training camp practices tomorrow
It's time to get
Defensive we're gonna talk about the edge rusher group
Then we're gonna move the linebacker and interior defensive line then we're gonna hit secondary

training camp private primer can the week after. Training camp
primer, I can barely say primer sometimes I think I messed it up
earlier too but biggest camp battles, players I'm most excited to watch,
biggest question marks for the Titans headed into training camp, total
refresher on every conversation that we've had throughout the offseason as
Titans football kicks off once again. Cannot wait, but that's going to do it for me today folks.
As always, I am your host Tyler Roland and this was Locked on Titans.
