Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans - TITANS SQUAD SHOW: Cam Ward SHOWS GROWTH & OBVIOUS room for improvement
Episode Date: September 23, 2026The old saying goes, '"no pain, no gain." Titans Quarterback Cam Ward has experienced some growing pains and a slower development process compared to his 2025 NFL Draft Class counterparts. However, he... showed some clear growth in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. We discuss why his performance was an encouraging step forward and debate head coach Robert Saleh's decision to settle for a field goal at the end of the game. Does he need more trust in his offense? Or is it a philosophical coaching flaw?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Butcher BoxIf you're looking for an easier way to get great meals on the table, give ButcherBox a try.Go to https://ButcherBox.com/LOCKEDONNFL to get $20 off your first box, plus your choice of free ribeye, new york strip, or filet mignon in every box for a year — with free shipping always.Fabletics Shop now at https://Fabletics.com/LOCKEDONNFL to get 70-80% off everything when you sign up as a new VIP. There is one area the Titans defense needs to improve before Sunday's game against the Giants.
We go tighten up and tighten down.
Speaking of improvement, I think it's fair to say we saw some of that in terms of Cam Moore's performance,
but what do we still need to see from him headed in to this game against the Giants?
And the Titans were poised to set the entire NFL world on its ear.
And I'll tell you how she'll like it too.
It's time to talk Titans with the Titan Squad Show.
Titan Up.
It's the Titan Squad.
Everything Tennessee Titans every week.
Covering all the big hits and game-changing plays from the heart of Music City,
the way only the locked on podcast network can.
Squad Up.

And welcome to the Titan Squad Show.

We're going to have a hop take ready to go from Bhop, the man himself.
We're going to talk about Campbell,
what he needs to improve on going into this week against the Giants.
And a little bit about the play calling decisions from the Titans coaching staff
in the Eagles game this past week.
But it's time to play our favorite segment, you guys.
tighten up and tighten down.
Tighten up.
What are our stocks up this week?
And what do we need to see some more of in the tighten down segment with this team?
Could be a player, could be an aspect of the game.
Kayla, we'll start with Titan up.
We'll go with you first.
All right.
So I think I'm going to focus in on tightening up on the offense, but one specific category.
So tighten up for me when it comes to the Titans explosive plays.
We haven't seen a ton of explosive plays, let's be real, in a while from the
Tennessee Titans, but this year in particular with this week two game, we saw some of those.
Obviously, you had Elylech Ion Manor involved in the 41-yard catch.
We had a Calvin Ridley 25-yard catch.
We had the Tajay Spears 27-yard run.
And I came across a nifty stat, courtesy of a good friend John Glennon down there in Nashville.
And they posted the NFL's 11th best explosive play rate at 9% in week.
too. So something I didn't think we would necessarily be talking about on this podcast
in week two. But a tip of the cap there to the explosive plays and hopefully they can build on
that coming into this game against the Giants. T. All right. So my tighten up has to go to Jeffrey
Simmons. And that brings us to the other side of the ball. Jeffrey Simmons is the best
defensive player in the world right now. And if you take out Miles Garrett, who is an all-time
player who set the sack record last year, Jeffrey Simmons was the
best defensive player outside of Miles Garrett in the NFL last year.
Right now, Jeffrey Simmons has 19 pass rush wins, according to ESPN's analytics.
That is four more than second place.
It's Dallas Turner, the young player from the Minnesota Vikings, the edge rusher.
An interior defensive lineman has a four-pass rush win lead on the rest of the NFL.
It is unbelievable.
He's got a sack.
He's got 13 total pressures already.
Tackle for loss, six quarterback hits.
he's just absolutely destructive.
And the crazy thing about it is,
this is his first two games in this system.
And I don't think that his teammates have really hit their peak.
John Franklin Myers got better in this last game,
but he was kind of invisible against the Jets.
I'm sir, he's not happy about that.
But it can get even better around Jeffrey Simmons.
And you mentioned explosive plays, Kayla.
I want to throw this in while we're here.
The Titans defense is fifth best in the NFL right now
and not allowing explosive play.
Now we know they're giving up all the little short ones
that keep the drives going.
But if the Titans are 11th and explosive play rate on offense
and fifth best on defense and allowing explosive play rate
might be foreshadowing for Brad's hop take about the Titans,
maybe turning things on its head here soon,
showing some signs of life.
So we'll get real optimistic later.
But for right now, Jeffrey Simmons,
not only the best player on the Titans defense,
but the best defensive player in the NFL once again.
And if Miles Garrett is out for half a season or whatever with this injury
or six games,
Jeff might have all he needs to take the DPOI this year.
Yeah, proving he's worth every penny.
Baha.
Did you see an outfit he came to the game in with the sleeves cut off?
Oh, yeah.
Jeff?
There's only one dude on the team who could wear that.
Well, there's a lot of dudes on the team who could wear that,
but he is the one who rocking it right there.
He's stuck up his fashion.
Who came to the game in the green goblin?
Oh, don't even get me.
Oh, I don't even get him.
It was Julius Chestnut.
He dresses Black Panther last week.
I don't know, Brad, you were a good player.
But me personally, my opinion is you're a practice squad,
low end of the roster, four string running back,
special teams guy, and your team has won six games in the last 40 or whatever.
You don't need to be doing stuff like that.
Maybe you see it different like, hey, he's keeping the locker room lively
in the face of adversity, all right, class clown type stuff.
But as a fan, I'm like, dude, grow up, man.
This is not the time to be doing that stuff.
It wasn't for you, Tyler.
It was for the locker room.
Hey, dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
Listen, okay, so when I played, I was known for having a bunch of cars.
I had 14 cars when I played.
And the running joke was, what's hot going to drive in today?
Okay, they would look forward to.
Sometimes I take bets on what I would come in, come to, you know, to work in.
It's the same thing with him wearing green goblin out there.
It's like, hey, what's Julius going to wear today?
Yeah.
You kind of look forward to it.
You know what I mean?
Hey, can I say something here?
I was pulling my camera wagon with all that equipment.
Kayla, you know how that is.
I'm pulling it into the Titans facility.
And in comes Behop revving his engine and his corvette with his top down.
Oh, gosh.
He's suiting me as he just drives through the gate.
And I'm like sweating my butt off in there.
Poor Julian like a pack mule coming in.
Brad, did you say you had 14?
cars.
Yeah.
That's twice as many cars as I've ever owned in my life, man.
That's podcaster problems right there.
You don't say, you don't say the difference between men and boys is the size of their toys.
And I was a Hot Wheels matchbox kid growing up.
I had a thousand hot wheels cars.
So when I got to be able to afford to buy my own, I just turn them into real life
cards you put gas in.
But anyway, tighten up.
Now, I know the whole adage, ifs and butts were candy and nuts, every day will be Christmas.
Right.
Okay, so I'll lay that out already.
Brad's killing me today.
But this team shouldn't have been in a dog fight with the Eagles, should they?
It was supposed to be a dirt road weapon, wasn't it?
Especially after what we saw with the Jets.
But like Kayla said, they made explosive plays on both sides of the football, okay?
They won the average yard per attempt.
Now, they didn't win the time of possession.
We'll get into that later on.
But the point being, they played well enough to win the ball game.
Okay?
So my tighten up is just by their performance.
They were a minute away, just a minute away from pulling off something that nobody predicted was going to happen.
So I'll give them that for showing up and showing out just a little bit on something.
Bhopper on the same wave there because I think this team can actually win some games now.
Yeah.
Right?
Like we were sitting here after the Jets loss and we were wondering when in the heck that first win was going to come based off that performance.
I had said week seven against the Browns after how ugly it looked against the Jets.
And maybe it'll still be that game.
Who knows?
But the Titans prove that they can compete with anyone in this league.
The NFL is such a week-to-week thing, right?
Like one week you can look one way.
Yeah, one week you could look one way.
The next week you could look another way.
But they just made more plays on Sunday, right?
Like they forced some turnovers.
They had a semblance of a pass rush.
The explosive plays on offense that you were talking about, Kayla.
They were right there.
You know, so it's more growth for this team this.
week. They just look more like a professional competitive football team. And I know you don't want
that. That bar is really low. But I think it's certainly a step in the right direction compared to
where they were week one. I'm double dipping. I'm not letting us get to tighten downs without
mention in the offensive line. Yeah. Top nine in the NFL this week and past blocking efficiency
on pro football focus. They allowed only four pressures. Zero sacks were directly attributed to
the offensive line, which has been debated constantly with the play action bootleg and Jalen
Carter, the sack at the end, was it on Latham, was it not? Sala made, Sala kind of agreed with
my viewpoint of there was just a great play by Jalen Carter to read the play. They were running play
action power to the opposite side. I mean, it is what it is, but whatever. The offensive line,
four yards per carry, 122 yards on the ground, kept Cam Ward relatively clean with clean
pockets against a great Philadelphia Eagles defense and a really good Philadelphia Eagles front,
and particularly J.C. Latham. Zero sacks on the season, two pressures allowed. He is essentially
locked down his side in both games. There are one play here, one play there. Brad knows offensive
lineman, you play a perfect game. If you give up a sack on the last play, you're a bozo,
whole town wants to run you out of town. They hit you. Now, Brad wasn't making a lot of bad plays
and wanting to get run out of town, so maybe he doesn't know about that as much as some other guys.
J.C. Latham has played relatively stellar football in the first two weeks,
and the offensive line overall has been something that's helped them stay in games,
not something that's hurt them consistently.
Real quick, to clear up that J.C. Latham play that he gave up the sack to Jalen and the end there.
So it's a naked boot, right?
Cam's given the run fake, hoping that everybody bites to the run going to the left.
Cam steps or J.C. stepped down inside to give the same indication.
and he wanted him to chase.
But what Jalen didn't do is he didn't read.
He was just basically content on just being on the outside there,
the play went left.
And he just happened to look into the fact that Cam still had the ball,
and is he going to quarterback, he makes the tackle.
So it was J.C. trying to draw him down inside to carry out the run fake
and he's got him out of position, and there's no way that you could actually, you know.
That happened a couple times in the ball game.
The holding call on Slotman.
when he got ran over, right?
He's trying to basically come across the face of Ojo.
What's the name?
Morrow Ojoomo.
Ojoomo, yeah.
He's in the gap, and it's almost impossible to stop a 300-pounder
from going in the direction he wants to go.
So he tried to get his face across and got ran over, right?
And then in the very next play, he did the same thing to Peter Skoranski.
So he had a quite little series there, but in the end,
it wasn't J.C.'s fault particularly on that last sack,
even though, you know, you'd hate to see what that kind of play happened,
but you can see where he's trying to basically do the run fake along with the play call itself
and just got him out of position and he had a terrific play.
Brad, people don't like to hear that.
Fans don't like to hear, hey, you know, that guy just made a good play.
They wanted to be somebody's fault.
That's kind of what I've felt this week with the J.C.
Latham thing is no matter how you want to explain it football wise
or who explains it to people, they just know that's J.C. Latham's fault.
It's got to be somebody's fault.
fault, bad play happened, got to be. So I think that's part of it. But that's what I've been
preaching. And the player perspective on it, I'm glad you put that in there. We needed to hear
that. Yeah, sure. Thanks for the clarification on that, Bhop. We'll snake draft this. Behop will go back
to you. So I'm talking about the Titan down, right? That's correct, yes. So while we're talking
about the Titans playing well enough to win, they also played well enough to lose.
the coverage in the end zone on the last play
they're all in man there to try to pass it off
somebody falls down and you leave the other guy wide open
can't have that mistake okay
there was a number of times even in coverage
where it seemed like they had Jalen Hertz just dead in the dirt
and all of a sudden he just throws up some sort of Hail Mary type thing
and guess what a guy comes down with the completion and continues to drive
I guess the biggest problem is this
the question was asked and I think Paul Carraskey was the one that asked
He said, you guys won the yards per attempt, average yards per attempt, okay?
But why did you lose the time of possession?
And Robert Solis, simple response was third down.
And third down has been a bugaboo for this team in the first two games because they're allowing them to convert.
They might do a great job in the first down, second down, stuff in the run, do all kinds of crazy thing, creating pressure.
But then when they need to get off the field on third down, this team, it's not able to do that efficiently enough, effectively enough.
and that's what's causing, I think,
to a lot of the issues,
because time of possession will win you ball games.
It will, because that means that you're holding onto the ball.
It means you're converting third down,
and you're eating up clock and giving less opportunities for an offense.
But when they're able to stay on the field,
as long as these two teams have the last couple of weeks,
it's just harder to win that way.
Yeah, yeah. Tyler.
I agree with you, Brad, one thing,
it's not even just holding the ball, the footballs, their bodies.
It's been hot in Nashville, the heat don't.
You know what I mean?
that defense has had to play a lot of snaps two weeks in a row in the hottest place on earth
right now scientifically. You know what I mean? Like it's just, that makes it tough.
I hope that it doesn't, you know, work them down too much going forward.
But my tighten down in this game is going to be what Brad is hinting at, the secondary.
And I think that I actually watched the film and felt encouraged about the secondary.
They're starting to better understand what their rules are with certain coverages.
And by the second half, the second half is where the titan started actually getting some pressure on Jalen Hertz
and actually getting some third down stops.
They got a couple of stops in the row in the second half because the coverage just started to understand where they needed to go,
who's picking up who based on the route concepts and what they're running and all that.
The tighten down for me is and the problem that's going to persist throughout the year is the talent.
And again, people don't want to hear it because the Titans paid $35 million per year for cornerbacks
and Alante Taylor and Cordell Flot.
But that 20 million a year and 15 million a year, that's not high-level cornerback money.
These are average starting cornerbacks in the NFL.
You know what I mean?
And yeah, Alante Taylor is going to get beat on a slant one-on-one against Garrett Wilson or,
you know what I mean, against top-level wide receivers, real number ones,
just like he got beat against Devonte Smith.
Like he's going to, yeah, Alante Taylor is going to lose to Devante Smith.
Devante Smith gets paid a lot more money and is a better player at his position than Taylor is at his.
Amoni Hooker made the big time play, but he made the play because they were in the red zone,
the low red zone at that, and he could come forward and make a play.
When Amati Hooker's got to go backwards, he doesn't have the foot speed to do it.
And Kevin Winston's still young and learning we saw on the Mackay Lemon deep dig route.
Winston went a little too far outside and then was out of position.
big third down conversion on third and 12.
They can't get it because he's just a little too slow.
He's going to get smarter at that and quicker at that.
So the Titans are going to do better with their understanding
of how to play coverage in the back end.
But the overall talent in the secondary isn't good enough
to completely solve this problem this year.
So we're probably always going to have to deal
with some of these third down problems and coverage problems
because the talent just isn't level.
You know what I mean?
And that's my true Titan down that will matter
throughout the rest of the year.
Yeah, that was certainly a worry.
worrisome throughout the preseason when we saw the backups of a lot of these teams they were carving up the titan secondary that's for sure Kayla yeah so Brad actually kind of stole mine but I'll go in a little bit of a different direction with it so he kind of gave me the explanation for time of possession so time of possession they're dead last in the NFL um dead last and I know it's only two weeks but that has got to change for this reason and I'm glad Brad kind of explains like obviously the third down
not being able to convert or not being able to get off the field on third down is an absolute
issue.
And what's happening too is we're seeing it in the beginning of the game, right?
We're seeing it in that first half where the defense is just on the field for so damn long
that even when the offense gets out on the field, they're out of rhythm.
They've been on the bench too long.
Like there's no fluidity.
And I truly feel like that's affecting what the offense is doing in that first half.
And then we're kind of seeing them pick it up in the second half once they adjust defensively.
But I mean, let's get this going earlier, guys.
Like let's like you said, get off the field on third down so that this offense,
they can put them in a more desirable position to kind of get into a groove earlier on in the game.
No, 100%.
Yeah, look, the Eagles were 11 of 18 on third down.
And that's, that's pretty high number there.
And that's also my tighten down as well.
I mean, it also gives your offense more chances, right?
It gives Cam Ward more in-game reps.
Tyler mentioned the record-setting temperatures over the last two weeks.
That's a long time to be on the field in those things.
Amani Hooker's cleats were melting in a week one against the Jets.
And I think about how they lost the game on a game-winning drive.
Maybe the execution defensively is better at the end of the game because you're not so wiped
and the bodies aren't taken out because you've been on the field.
so long for the first three quarters. Maybe Jacob Martin gets that sack on Jalen Hertz and
wins you the game. So, Julian, did you see that rep? Everybody was, everybody was passing around
that rep of Jacob Martin at the end of the game. And everyone was like, oh, he's dogging.
Guys, he just played 60 snaps in 100 degree heat as the primary pass rusher just almost got a sack
before. Like, I'm just convinced other people haven't been athletes and played in the heat like
that. Like, he's not, he's not loafing it like, oh, I'm not going to try. You know what I mean?
He is exhausted.
It doesn't excuse, but he's exhausted.
He's not just loafing it.
Yeah.
And this week in particular with James Winston,
assuming he's under center, right?
Like, that is an absolute must to dominate
and get off the field on that side of the ball.
Like, that's an absolute must.
You got to give your offense a chance and not,
you won't have to leave it up to potential game breaking plays
like a couple of interceptions to get you guys
extra points and extra possessions.
I have one last Titan down.
Go ahead.
And it's a big one.
Special team.
That was my other one.
We have to mention this.
So I have a stat that I saw earlier this week.
Right now, the NFL average for touchbacks on kickoffs is 16%.
16% of the time they get a touchback.
The Titans are at 57% touchback rate.
Over half of the Titans kickoffs are touchbacks,
which now goes out to the 35-yard line.
and some of the other kickoffs that weren't touchbacks went out of bounds or didn't land in the landing zone and brought it out to the 40.
The Titans are bleeding in the field position game right now, whether it be their kickoff problem or whether it be Tommy Townsend all of a sudden forgetting how to punt.
They have to find a way to win the field position battle better.
And that's going to help time and possession.
That's going to help the offense and defense.
That's going to help.
They are bleeding on special teams right now and they're not going to win if they don't fix it quick.
No, that is a good point, Tyler.
Something to certainly watch for when the Titans take on the New York Giants this coming week,
especially since special teams was such a strength of this team last year.
It was their calling card.
On the other side of the break, we're going to dive into Cam Ward.
We're also going to talk about some of the play calling at the end of the half
and at the end of the game and whether we agree with it or not
and what led to maybe some of those decisions for the Titans.
That's next year on the Titans Squad show.
David Harrison here at the Lotton Commanders podcast.
Talk about Butcher Box.
I'm someone who's always trying to make sure I'm getting enough protein.
For me, that gets a whole lot easier when I've got a freezer full of the good stuff
and I'm not stuck trying to figure out what to do for dinner.
And I like having that quality protein ready to go,
whether it's for the whole family or it's just for myself so I can avoid that dreaded takeout order.
And butcher box delivers 100% grass-fed beef, organic chicken, wild caught seafood,
and more all source to standards they can actually tell you about they've already done the work.
So all you have to do is figure out.

All right, wanted to shift the conversation over to Cam Ward, 13 of 20, 183 yards.
He did have two total touchdowns at the quarterback sneak and the other one where he rushed in as well.
Kayla, you tease Cam at the top, obviously some areas of growth, but some areas and room for improvement as well.
Yeah, I mean, look, we mentioned it earlier.
Some of the big plays that he was able to connect with Elykeyeo Manor, Calvin Ridley.
I felt like he saw things easier or he allowed himself to see things in this game.
I also felt like, you know, there was a little bit more confidence of like what he was doing.
I felt like he was understanding more.
It wasn't like a panic mode type of thing where he felt like he needed to bail out all the time.
With saying that, I think you still need to continue to work on not bailing out of the pocket too soon,
like being able to be comfortable with this offensive line.
But guys, I think they took a step in the right direction.
Like, Tyler, you mentioned where they ranked this week in terms of the total production.
And I think that's only going to get better.
As long as it can stay healthy as a unit, I think, you know, Cam Ward and the offensive
line together, it's going to continue to grow.
He's going to feel more comfortable of what's in front of him, being able to kind of read
what's happening.
So I think it's going to be a step-by-step process, guys.
But that's just going to come with time.
And that's why I wasn't going to scream off the top of my.
my head after game one because it's just all about learning each other and that's just going to come
with more play on the field. So I overall, I thought Cam was better. People didn't look at the rushing
touchdowns and they see zero in terms of passing touchdowns and they're like, oh, it's another
bad performance, 100-something yards. I think when you look at him as a whole, he did some of the
things we said we needed to do more of this last week. So I have to give him credit. Tyler,
Mike.
I got to agree with everything Kayla said.
I mean, we saw signs of growth.
That throw to Ellic-I-O manner on the post was,
and Kayla, when you're talking about him feeling more confident
in what he's seeing pre-snap,
he did so well with, when they showed him something pre-snap,
what the coverage was going to be,
and they stayed in it, he took advantage.
I want to point out this,
because what Kayla's saying, bailing out of clean pockets,
feeling more comfortable with the offensive.
line playing better. That's true. Perfect right there. Improvements,
look more comfortable, made good passes. But I got to tell you, Robert
Salah made a comment recently about Cam being on the ground floor or the ground level or
whatever, you know, is one of those words. But as a quarterback and he got some pushback
in the media like, wait a minute, he's in his second year. You know, other guys, why is he
on the ground floor? They are coaching. Like, this is Cam Ward's
rookie year. And I throw back to Urban Meyer when he coached Trevor Lawrence,
Trevor Lawrence's rookie year. I would say, and I know that this may be as harsh,
but I would say that Brian Callahan and Urban Meyer are the two worst head coaches of the last
15 years in the NFL. They're at least bottom three, bottom four, bottom five.
At minimum, if you want to make it the last five, six, seven, ten years.
I think statistically speaking and the experience of it all, Urban Meyer is the worst.
And then I would put Brian Callahan right there.
So I think it is fair if Brian Dable came in and said,
you're being treated as a rookie.
And Cam Ward has talked about how much more prepared he is
week in and week out.
He's mentioned it.
And I always bring it up because I'm like,
hey, that's a shot at Brian Callahan right there.
And everybody's like, no, it's not.
But either way, whether it's a shot at Callahan or not,
Cam Ward is saying he feels much more prepared.
The way he's being prepared for games,
the game planning way different this year,
way more to a new level for him.
He said that personally.
So if that is true, I mean, the Titans ran.
And that play to Elykeyo Manor that he hit on the post,
the Titans exact same play three or four times in the game.
And they only ran like three or four different formations out of shotgun.
They are running a paired down playbook so that Cam does feel comfortable with what he sees.
And he doesn't have to overthink what's about that happened.
And he can just, and I think that's going to progress throughout the season.
So people are mad about the, you know, conservative play calling.
But right before halftime where they ran twice with Tony Pollard,
look at the second down play that.
they ran with Cam.
If I'm Brian Daible and I just saw my quarterback do that
with multiple guys open and leaving the pocket like that,
I would be like, okay, I can't have him run into a sack,
make a mistake, we got to get points here
and go into the halftime.
So I'm just saying, I see what Brian Daibble is doing.
I understand why he's doing it.
I think it's smart.
It's frustrating some.
Cam's got to get better, but there's a plan.
And I see they are treating him like a rookie like he's on the ground level,
and that's probably the smart thing to do.
Beha.
Well, I mean, it's not his first year in the league, but it's his first year in Brian Dayball system.
I don't think his first year in the league was good coaching, I guess, is my point.
We can look at a couple of different things, but they're also asking him to do things that he never did even in college.
Him being under center, probably the most he's ever been at this point does make a difference.
It makes a total difference.
Yeah.
Helps the run game, helps his visibility.
A lot, a lot going on there.
I would just tell Kim, keep doing what you're doing.
Because like Kayla said, he improves incrementally every single.
week, which is what you want him to do.
You know, why? Because he's working on his craft.
He's getting better at what he does.
I'd say by midseason, this, I'm not going to say he's going to be a finished product.
Is he going to be perfect?
Absolutely not.
But you can see him getting better every single week because it matters to him.
And he knows just how important he is, his development is for this team to be able to win.
So I don't have a bunch of things that I need him to fix at this point.
I mean, does he need to keep working on accuracy?
Of course.
He missed ELEC.
I don't matter just by inches on that crossing route in the end zone.
Goes out in front of him, it catches it.
It's a touchdown.
It's not something he drops because he's trying to contort himself to go back, you know, from behind him to catch the ball.
So those little things are going to be, we're going to see less and less and less of that.
You know what I'm saying?
It's almost like when you get your driver's license for the first time.
Listen, if you've never driven in a student parking lot at high school, you probably need to.
Because every damn car in there has dings and some stuff done to it.
Every single one of them.
Because them rascals, they drive by field, not by cycle.
You see what I'm saying?
And it's the same thing in just in learning how to be the perfect quarterback that can help his team win.
Cam is making those strides.
And if you don't see his improvement, I don't know what you're doing.
Yeah.
The big number for me, guys, zero turnovers.
Absolutely.
Stop saying that.
You're jinks.
You're that guy that says, you never misses a free throw.
Plank.
Stop.
Oh, the broadcasters that continue?
Yeah, the classic broadcaster first, Julie.
But he's not putting the ball, like, in harm's way.
You know how lax he was with the football, like, especially, like, last year?
And even in the preseason, too, when he got the ball knocked out of his hand, like, he's not doing that.
He's not putting the ball in harm's way, so to speak.
So that's a big plus for me.
The other one was, which I think was their best drive of the season, the second touchdown that they scored.
like the 12 play 69 yards seven plus minute drive it wasn't in garbage time and it wasn't because
the defense set you up in an advantageous field position right like that was probably the most
impressive drive they've had this this year so I'd say the next step is to build on that like
you would have liked to get six points in some of those field goal settling for field goal situations
it might have been the difference in the game but right now they need all the help they can get
offensively. And Cam's not necessarily doing anything to hurt your chances to win, if that makes
sense. You want him to elevate, but you don't want him to be the reason you lose either. And so
you don't want Will Levis out there. Sure, right? Like, you don't want to meme after a play
and things of that nature. So, like, I think that's certainly a step in the right direction for Cam.
Hey, how about Will Levis becoming a jet? Yeah, I saw that the practice squad. Yeah. They released,
What was that? Bailey's Appie, yeah.
I'm surprised it wasn't the Giants.
I mean, with Jackson Dart looking like he's probably out for the year,
they don't have another quarterback they could have brought on Levis,
got a little institutional knowledge steel, you know what I mean?
You don't believe in James,
you don't even james.
I hope he doesn't eat him this name.
I think he's kind of done.
Last thing I wanted to get to real quickly,
a lot has been made about the idea,
to settle for field goals at the end of the first half,
and in particular, even more so at the end of the game.
Do you guys think that is a reflection of where Cam is?
I'll say something to that.
I think it's a little bit of a reflection,
because I do feel this coaching staff to start the season,
at least, is trying to put, of course,
the team in the best position to win,
but also trying to position him in a way that it's like,
I think they're still a little bit uncomfortable with Cam in some situations like that
where they're, and I'm not saying this is a good thing,
maybe they're protecting them a little bit because, you know,
we saw the whole situation where, you know, Jalen Carter,
Sacked him.
And then it was kind of like, I don't know,
I feel like maybe Cam, you get a little shaken up.
And then it's like, okay, maybe we want to be a little bit.
conservative because we got to score.
So I think it is kind of
like at least to start this season
based a bit around Cam Ward, but I
could be totally wrong.
Okay, how about this?
Do you remember there was a play during the
Chief's
this past game?
Yeah. Yeah.
And it was fourth down on the goal line.
Yeah. And Patrick immediately
looked at the sideline and said, no, no.
Like, we're running this. And then
they showed Big Red on the sideline.
I'm pointing, I'm like, it's on you, man.
We're going to do this because you said you could do this.
Now, if you don't, it's your ass, you know what I mean?
It's like you can see that.
That's the kind of confidence that Patrick Mahomes has earned in that play calling situation.
There's trust there.
Good point.
I mean, we're talking with Carmen Bricillo during the week and saying, man, they really need to commit to allowing you guys to take over the ballgame by running more.
And Cam's, or Carmen's response to me was we need to earn the trust.
in the run game to allow them to stay with it when things don't necessarily break open immediately,
okay?
I think there's just a little bit of trust element, which is kind of tying into what you're talking about, Kayla.
It's not that they're concerned about Cam, you know, committing terms, and all some other crazy things.
But when you go out there and you continually make big plays, then it's no brainer that you're going to take those aggressive shots.
And Robert touched on that just a little bit in his press conference.
We could have been more aggressive in certain situations.
But at the end of the day, they wanted to come away with some points rather than not in the,
course, giving the ball back to a team that might have some momentum at that point or they were having
problems getting off the field on third down with. It ultimately caught up to him anyway, right?
You want your defense. You want to be able to lean on your defense to get off the field, especially
when we've taken a lead, whether it be three points or seven points. And it just didn't happen for
them this passing. You could say whether it's right or wrong, but I think it's logical to
think that the Titans coaches would maybe want to be a little conservative. Robert Salah mentions
that it's a young team in every single press conference that he does.
So if he is saying it that often, don't you think behind the scenes,
they're like, hey, we can't let this team make big mistakes.
If we just don't mess up in any big ways, stay in games, we'll have our opportunities.
And again, I know that people only remember the big long drives and the points
and the times they didn't stop the Eagles, but the Titans defense did get some pressure
and get some stops and get off the field on third down a couple of times during the second half.
So Robert Sala is a defensive coach with what the coaches look at as a rookie quarterback essentially
and are like, yeah, we need to take the points and our defense has done good in the second half.
We'll get one more stop.
That's the highest percentage possibility for us to win this football game.
Whether we agree or disagree is a conversation that you can have,
but that is clearly a logical thing to think if you're the coaching staff.
Yeah, like I totally understand why he wasn't aggressive.
He's a defensive head coach like you mentioned and he's telling his defense go win me the game.
Right? And they almost did. They almost did. Like Jacob Martin almost got him to the ground and they probably win the game.
At very least send it to overtime at that point. And maybe this week or maybe week six or seven, if they're in another situation like this, maybe Cam's at the point where he's earned a little bit more trust to say go for the touchdown in that situation and we'll not settle for three.
Are we sounding hopeful in this show? What the hell? It's not like a lot of like, you know, we could almost do something.
some things type conversations we're having here.
It doesn't seem near as bleak, does it?
After week one, everybody was like, I mean, Tyler, you're the one that came up the concept.
When the hell of the Titans will get their next win?
Because you didn't think it was going to be for a long-ass time, did you?
But I'll tell you what, after Sunday, being in a dog fight with a team that a lot of people
have a lot of respect for, they've got dudes.
You know, those cats up front, their front four are some mean MFers, right?
Sequin, Devonte, Jalen, they got guys.
and we were right there.
Hell, the Titans were in an away game this past weekend.
Yeah.
Right.
And they still were almost able to pull out.
Kim was going under silent count in his own stadium, bro.
You know, you got some maniac in the middle of Broadway,
taking off his shirt and doing all the craziness.
You know, what the hell is going on here?
You got Javon Kirsch-Kirsched to fly.
I know.
I know.
That was.
You see?
Come on now.
What are we doing?
We have a hop take on the other side.
B-Hop's already warming up for it.
That's next year on the Titan Squad show.
The NFL is full of games you plan for all year,
but sometimes the best memories come from the games you almost missed.
Game time makes it easy to find tickets to NFL matchups you want to see.
The prices that include fees, so you know your total cost up front.
You can browse games, see panoramic view from your seat before you buy,
and get tickets in just a couple of taps.
Plus, zone bills let you choose the section,
and let game time choose the seats to help save more,
whether it's a rivalry game,
a matchup featuring a player you must see in person
or an underdog ready to make some noise.
Game time makes getting to the game simple.
Think about the game on the schedule
that you absolutely don't want to miss.
The next time the Titans are home,
it's one of those rivalry games against the dreaded Houston Texans.
Maybe you want to be a part of that.
We'll get your friends together, get your tickets,
and tell them it's game time.
Download the GameTime app,
create an account, and use code locked on
for $20 off your first purchase.
Terms apply. Again, create an account and use code locked on for $20 off. Again, we need a Bhop's
hop take jingle or something like that. Right. We need something to get into it. We got to get in
the booth and just make it. Yeah. You know, something like that. All right, Bhop, you're up.
Some sweller than covered. We sound very hopeful on this show because the Titans actually put
on the type of performance that you can be proud of. Even though they didn't come away with the win,
we were just under a minute away from actually pulling it off.
And like I said in the very beginning of our show, setting the NFL world on its ear.
Jalen Hertz would have been ragdolled beyond belief if they were to lost this game in Tennessee.
But that's not where I want to go.
Where I want to go is with us potentially having the next household name at receiver.
And it's not Carnell Tate.
It's the plays that we saw Eilkei Manor making in this ball game that we will continue to see more of.
If the Titans would have won that game on Sunday, that play of him hurdling a defender,
would have been all over Sports Center.
It had been all over the planet, almost.
And I think just when you look at guys like that,
our receivers had never been household names when it got here.
Derek Mason wasn't a household name until he became not only the returner,
but the receiver that he was.
Kevin Dyson still really wasn't the household name,
despite him doing the Music City miracle and having a huge impact
on us in the game in the Super Bowl almost winning.
Our receivers have never been these guys that require all their star power
and exposure and attention.
I'm going to tell you what, number five is a dog.
And on both sides, he likes to run block, he likes to catch, he's an explosive player.
So my prediction for Elkaye Manner is that he will be a household name way sooner than later.
Woo! I like that. Let me get in on that.
Former PAC 12 represent.
All right. Let's know.
In all seriousness, when Eleg got drafted, I was really excited.
I'd watch some of him, obviously, in his time at Stanford, Cam Ward had played against him at Washington State.
And what I liked about Ehrlich is he kind of sat back for a minute and observed like what's around me.
What do I need to do to be a pro?
he has the body type.
He has the physical attributes.
But y'all, he also has this.
Like there's a reason he went to Stanford.
Like the guy is smart.
And I think part of like knowing and learning football and executing that is like being
able to go in the classroom, identify what you're doing wrong, what you're doing right,
studying your defenses, your opponents.
And then you're going to see those types of receivers over time because he's got the physical
attributes to be out there and improve on it. So, Brad, I don't think you're too far off. And what I love
about this, too, is Cam Ward talked about it this week. Like, him and Elet are in the film rooms. And I can
guarantee you there are two of the guys that are probably in there the earliest. And I know, like,
that doesn't mean everything. But it does mean something when those two want to be the best. And when
they're in there together, talking about what went right, why you missed me in the end zone. Like,
what can we do better? So I love it, Brad. Great hop take. Real quick, Tala.
before you jump in there.
During the presser, they asked Ellick, how you matter what he likes.
As a matter of fact, it was Jim Wyatt.
He works for the Titans.
You know who Jim White is.
Jim asked him what he likes to do during his downtime.
First thing he said was, I like to read.
Yeah.
He said, I like to read.
And his answer was so eloquent.
It just gave me the idea that this guy here is, like you said, Kelly, he's a thinker.
I was sitting next to him during a break in practice.
You know, special teams were on the field,
so the offensive defense got a chance to get some water,
and they were just chilling on on the bench.
just trying to get off on the heat.
I was, I mean, literally sitting right next to me.
I just looked at him and I said, you're all right?
And he said, you mean mentally?
That was his response.
I was like, yeah, because he was just sitting there like staring off into space a little bit.
You know what I mean?
He was just thinking about what he needed to do.
He wanted to think about how he was going to finish practice.
I mean, Kayla, you hit the nail in the head.
This kid's a savant, man.
And he's athletic.
So he's going to grasp play calling, responsibilities, all those things.
these are the formulas I'm thinking of the next greats.
You know what I'm saying?
And this kid loves Nashville, man.
So let him keep making plays and let him start becoming the guy that Cam Newton, Cam
Ward goes to and becoming a household name.
I really, really feel high on this kid right now.
I think he's our next best thing.
Yeah, Eleg needs to get more opportunities.
I don't know what's going on with Calvin Ridley.
I know he made a couple of plays in there, but he slapped a dude within the first two
series of the Jets game. And then in this game on the second series that he ruined by getting
the penalty, he didn't get the penalty on week one. He just got fined. This week, I don't know what,
but you watch the video, it looks like he's looking at the official to make sure the official's
watching before he slaps the guy. It's like he did it on purpose. It's like he was trying to get
the penalty. And I'm like, dude, this is weird. Calvin Ridley's not the type of guy to go out there
and punch dudes, and to do it two weeks in a row, early in the game,
right in front of the officials.
Like, I don't know.
It feels very strange to me.
I'll take my tinfoil hat off.
But the point is, I know Ridley made a couple of plays,
but Iyo needs to get, when it's Tate and another receiver,
it needs to be Iyo Manor out there.
He's the best wide receiver on the team right now,
and he needs more opportunities.
So I know Calvin Ridley made a couple plays,
but it's almost like he was trying to go out there.
You better quit with that point,
shaving conspiracy stuff, Tyler.
You better knock it off.
Brad, listen, I get it, but if you watch him, he's like blocking the dude,
looks over directly at the sideline official to make sure he's looking at him,
looks back and gives the dude the softest pop in the helmet.
If you're actually mad at a guy and you want to hit him, you're going to hit him harder than that.
And if you're, it just, I don't know, I would love an explanation from the coaching staff.
We'll never get it.
He's a good guy.
I'm sure he is a nice man, but that's a confusing decision.
He did it last week and got fined $13,000.
Like, how can you do that the second week in a row
when you just got fined and got away with it?
Like, I don't know.
As the son of a coach, it just blows my mind to see players do stuff
to hurt the football team like that.
Two weeks in a row, same thing.
But anyway, the point is, Elykeyeomanner has been awesome.
Give Captain Cannon more opportunities.
And I want to mention, he has mentioned this himself.
Growing up in Canada, it's like how American soccer players can never get the training that foreign soccer players will get.
Because we don't have the level of training in this country that they do in theirs.
They didn't have the training in Canada that they do in America for young kids like Elyeo Manor.
So it would not be a shock at all that now that he's had this time in college and the pros and his body is maturing,
that he takes a monster leap in who he is because he finally knows the craft of the position.
So I think that all makes sense.
Yeah.
And Bihab, how many fights did he get in in training camp?
Like just overall, just being physical.
I was like, oh, yeah, that's a hockey player.
He's a lucky guy.
Medicine got.
Can't, come on.
While Tyler is talking about asking for it, there was a couple of times that Ehrlich went
over to Brian and said, hey, man, let's run this.
Let's run a play right here, like run the ball.
Because he wanted to get after somebody.
Yeah, he usually was Alante.
So he just loves getting physical.
Heinz War was the same kind of way.
He loved being men.
He loved being physical even as a receiver, which is a rare thing.
It's almost an oxymoron.
Sure.
You know, to say that receivers are physical.
Yeah, but then again, Elef is not a small dude either.
You know what I mean?
So he doesn't mind putting hands on the fella.
You know, so I just, you know, I like the way his approach and going back to Kayla,
what Kayla said earlier, just about his intelligence, it is off the charts, intelligence.
He's a super smart cat.
Mm-hmm. Indeed.
On the other side of the break, we're going to answer some questions and comments from the viewers in the live chat.
That's next here in the Titan Squad Show.
Welcome to your most rewarding NFL season ever, only on FanDuel.
How rewarding are we talking?

All right, we're going to answer some questions and comment.
Oh, okay, Julia.
First off, there's nothing more galvanizing than a big body catching a touchdown.
All right.
You see a big body that normally doesn't have his hands on the ball.
He catches a touchdown.
It makes everybody, offense, defense, skill positions, quarterback.
Everybody's jumping on that guy because it's a very, it's a very rare thing.
And so when a lineman catches a touchdown, there's nothing more than that.
You saw it with Jeff Simmons last year, too.
Exactly.
Exactly.
All right.
Patty Boyd, 27 says, who will have more success Sunday,
Dable against the Giants defense, or Dinard Wilson against
Cam and the offense. Remember, it's a revenge game on both sides. You have Dynard Wilson and
Brian Callahan over there with the Giants, and you have Brian Dable, Shea Tierney, and Carmen Bracillo
with the Titans.
Jaila? I'm thinking about this.
Geez, look, I would have to say when it comes down to just opportunities, I never want to see a team
have to go up against a team without their weapons.
It just, the best football is with everybody available.
So, but we're saying that there is opportunity this weekend for the Tennessee Titans because
this offense in terms of the Giants is no longer going to have, in my eyes, the guy that
was kind of spearheading and everything kind of ran through Jackson Dart and he set the
tempo for everything, right?
And then he, because Jackson Dart is who he is, he's athletic quarterback, can throw the ball, could run the ball.
That allows Cam Scadaboo to be involved and be able to be successful.
So I think when it comes to the defense and Sala, I think Sala and the defense are going to have a great impact this weekend on stopping the Giants.
I think James Winston, I love this guy to death.
He's a great motor writer.
I think he needs to be on TV.
I just think he's lost it, right?
And he never really had it to the highest level.
But I think they could really make things difficult for him in terms of if this group up front
can get pressure from the start of the game and kind of set the tone.
So I want to say like this defense for the Titans is going to have a great effect on this
Giants offense.
I'm with you.
I'm saying, yeah, Brian Daibel is going to open up a can of something on the Giants.
He wants his revenge.
The Titans have been playing patty cake on offense for a few weeks,
throwing nothing but short passes and not attacking.
This is the week, especially DeNard Wilson's defense, as we have seen,
if you can influence the inside quarters and bring them up with some in-breaking crossers and digs,
you can get behind them with posts and fly routes.
I think the Titans take some shots down field this week against Dernard Wilson
and open it up a little bit.
I'll go with Brian Dable winning over Dernard Wilson.
If the Tennessee Titans are dressed third down and get James Winston up out of there and give the ball back to Cam Ward early and often, Brian Dayball, and you guys know this, is the kind of guy that will tell them in that meeting room, I want to kick the ish out of them.
Yeah.
I want to do so many bad things, but then stand in the microphone in front of the media and say, hey, it's, you know, it's just another game.
We've got to get prepared for.
We're just trying to get a land.
That's exactly what you want, coach to say, right?
But you know this one's personal.
This is me putting words in Brian's mouth.
He didn't tell me this or anything like that.
I just love him as a person to do.
I can see why he's infectious.
He's got that attitude to him, that little bit of a scruffiness, you know, that edge.
And I know that when you go back to a situation, especially going back there, you know,
to where it all kind of fell apart for you.
Brian DeBall knows how to affect quarterbacks.
He got the job in New York because of what he turned Josh Allen into, okay?
He was supposed to do some of the same things for some of the other one kids that they got in there after they,
after he got to New York, and it's just
it's a bad deal. But ultimately,
I'll tell you what, their issue is going to
have to be,
Brian Callahan is not going to trust
James Winston to win the ball game. He's going to put it
in 44's hands. He's going to put it in
Cam Scat or Scataboo's hands
and see if this kid can stay on the field
early and often and be a battering ram, and it's hard
to tackle. So if they can cut
down on giving him opportunities to be
explosive in the run game, that'll get
them off the field because James will give us
a couple of balls. You know, if you
if you leave it up to him.
So with that, now the Titans need to be able to take advantage of the miscues that might
are going to happen.
I don't want the built-in excuse already.
Oh, yeah, I already have Jackson Dart.
He was already out of the game.
And that's why they won the ball game.
Yeah, this thing might have been ready to happen either way just because of, I think,
the mental approach that Brian will have for his guys heading into this week,
especially during practice.
Can I just say, I don't care what the excuses are.
We just need a win in the win.
I agree.
Look at the AFC Southwomen.
right now.
One win for the entire AFC South, and it was Jacksonville at home over Cleveland.
Like, if this division has a down year, the Titans are one win away from, I mean,
Jacksonville plays New England.
Houston and Indy play each other.
So one of them is going to 0 and 3, and you don't really come back from 0 and 3 in the NFL
very often.
The Titans move to 1 and 2.
Yeah, they play Baltimore next week in Baltimore, that's tough.
But then they get Houston and Indy and back-to-back weeks.
Brad talked about this a couple of weeks ago before the season.
You get division wins.
The Titans beat the Giants like they should.
Yeah, I don't think it's going to be easy or anything.
James is going to put up a fight.
But if the Titans win like they should,
and then win their division games,
they're three and three going into a home game against the Browns,
and they can move to four and three.
And what would we all be thinking if that was the case?
And it's literally right there in front of them.
Houston and Indy are beatable.
And now the Giants have a backup quarterback.
It's totally doable right now.
One last thing on the Brian Dable front,
we've all been there, right,
where you know you're going to see your ex
in a public place.
And what do you want to do?
You want to show them that you're better without them, right?
Like you want to show that you glow it up,
like you upgraded,
like where you're with is better now.
And it would not surprise me
if Brian Dable finally,
like Tyler said,
unloads the playbook on some deep shots.
And not only tries to win,
but make it look.
look good. You know what I mean?
Like flexed. You want to come
back in shape. You got some
money in your pocket. You want him or her to be like
Booty shorts. I don't know
about that part. Who said booty shorts?
Tyler, that's even, Tyler,
booty shorts or no? That's usually not
part of the package for me
after the breakup. But I
respect that as a move and
you know, I hope to never have
to need that again. But if I did,
the booty shorts, I may have to give that a go.
You know, then you got to walk by her like you didn't see her.
Oh, it's just seeing you here.
You know, you know, you know how it is, Kayla, you know.
Maybe that's what Brian Callahan's doing.
You know, he wants a little breakup revenge.
This week go out and win with James Winston over the titles that fired him.
He would pull out the booty shorts to get that done.
I got to see it.
Oh, I hope I never see Brian Callahan in Booty Shorts.
This next one is from Awakened to the Eternal.
Do you guys think Cam Ward is holding the offense back?
What kind of better quarterback would we be putting in?
Because if you take another young quarterback, then I would say no.
I mean, yeah, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen.
Yeah, the Titans' offense would be better with a more mature veteran good quarterback,
like Brock Hurdy or Jalen Hertz.
Yeah, like, yeah, so I guess you could say they would be better with a better.
But Cam Ward's young.
You just have to accept that he's young and he's growing.
So I don't know if that's necessarily a straightforward answer.
Yeah, I don't go ahead, Brad.
No, you go ahead.
I mean, holding back is a, it's a little strong of a word for what this team is.
Like, this team is all new.
Like, this team is, it's just, it is what it is.
Like, it's a reset button again after last year.
So when you have the quarterback Cam Ward, and I know he was,
I know he's a number one overall pick.
And I understand there's expectations that come with it.
but everybody in terms of a quarterback's journey is so different.
And it's like he is just in a spot right now where he is learning this offense with
everyone else.
And yes, of course, if there is a veteran quarterback that is placed in this offense,
I'm not saying it would be like this right away.
It would still be some learning each other.
It would be better.
But I don't think it's really fair just with the situation that we have in front of us.
I mean, it is what it is.
This is the realistic, you know, situation that Titans are in right now with this offense.
So I get it.
Everybody wants a Brock Purdy.
Yeah, but it's taken him a while to get respect.
It truly has.
It truly has.
We'll put it this way.
I think that Cam Ward is right in line with the Trevor Lawrence's, the Peyton Mannings,
the guys that struggled in their first couple of years.
That on average is more along the lines.
Yes, Tyler, Peyton went one in 15 his first year.
I didn't know quite where you were.
going with that at first. So after you put Trevor
what could he be talking about here,
but I see what you mean. Yeah. The struggle.
The struggle is real. And these are picks
that obviously the franchise put a lot of stock in,
you know, to hopefully get things off the ground.
But this isn't tang. You can't shake it up and it tastes good
all of a sudden. You got to squeeze that stuff.
I do love Tang.
I listen. Hey, I'm a 70s baby. I love Tang too.
Just like I love Kool-Aid. At the end of the day,
what tastes better?
fresh squeeze lemonade
orange juice with the pulp in it
that tastes so good but it takes a lot
longer to make than just
pouring some powder in some water
and stirring it up and drinking it as a matter
fact that stuff probably is
killing you know what I mean so
you want all natural stuff that takes time to grow
you don't want that instant stuff
because it doesn't have one of the fact that I'm trying to
I was trying to think of a quarterback that it was a
high draft pick
number one and that is taken a minute but they've given him time let's go down to freaking
carolina like Bryce young is it's taking him a little bit of time to you know be able to get
parts around him have an offensive line like they're not perfect by any means but I think we've
seen improvement like hopefully cams will be faster than Bryce Young's but I will say like we've
seen improvement and by the way Bryce is way I mean he's way smaller than
handboard is. There's obviously a difference in the type of player they are. But, you know,
he's getting to that point where I feel like fans are down there kind of being like,
okay, maybe we did make the right choice. They're calling Caleb Williams a bust.
Oh, yeah. You know, now look at them. They're trying to say, hey, maybe leave one of the more
prolific offenses in the game today. Yeah. Would you rather have like Caleb Williams upward
progression or like jaden daniel c jroud where maybe their first year was really good and then
there i didn't know we can throw c j in there because c j still has to prove some things
yeah right first year is they're not exactly i'd rather have the other way guys but the patient
doesn't call for that like that's the NFL like i think the only reason you see these two guys is
they're on there you know they're looking for new contracts eventually especially when we talk about
T.J. Stroud, but like, this is a make-it-a-break-year in a way, like, for them to pay him or not
get maybe the money he wants to, or, God, maybe they do move on from him. But it is one of those, like,
one-hit, wonder things out of the gate. It's great. It's awesome. It's cool to talk about.
Fans get up for it. But fans now have been dealing with Daniels and Stroud as, like,
downers for the last couple of years. And it's kind of, like, affected their organizations.
You know why teams don't have patience with quarterbacks?
Because owners don't have patience with general managers and head coaches.
Yes.
So they're like, hey, if this guy can't win right away, I got to get somebody in here who's going to win right away or I'm going to get fired.
So it all trickles down from the top.
You know what I mean?
The quarterback development problem.
Really, it's a billionaire patience problem is what the problem is.
You know what I mean?
So it's like that that is what it is.
But, you know, there's nothing worse than going up to the Hamptons and rubble elbows with your other billionaire.
and I'm asking you, what's wrong with your product?
Right.
You know what I mean?
Well, okay, well, guess what I'm about to get on the phone
and do something about that, you know?
So I get it.
I think sometimes people misunderstand
how the egos run their own,
run their football teams.
Like you want to think that decisions are made
in a much more professional, calculated way.
But like Robert Salah would know,
getting fired at two and three by, you know,
a gun crazy owner and Woody Johnson
who will pull the trigger at any moment.
You know what I mean?
That's the world we're living in.
man. Yeah, no, certainly reality in the NFL. The Titans and Giants go head to head at noon
central on Sunday and we'll see you then. But for now, I'm Julian Minnensoon. That's Kayla
Anderson, Tyler Rowland and Brad Hopkins. Thanks for listening.
