Starting point is 00:00:00 New year, new J.C. Latham, why Titans fans might finally be getting the J.C. Latham they thought they would when they drafted him. We'll talk about that next. And J.C. Latham's going to have a chance to prove it as the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks come to town this week. I saw the first joint practice. Can't wait to see the second joint practice as they yet again prepare with another quality opponent. Titan up. It's the Titans squad. Everything Tennessee Titans every week. covering all the big hits and game-changing plays from the heart of Music City the way only the locked-on podcast network can. Squad up, the Titan Squad Show starts now.
Starting point is 00:00:50 And welcome to the Titan Squad Show. Today's episode is brought to you by Fanduel. Join all the action at Fanduil.com to play daily dingers and make your free pick on who's hitting a homer this MLB season. I'm Julian Minenstone, joined by Tyler Rowland and Brad Hopkins. Got a jam-pack show for you today as we, heard at the top right there that Tyler and Brad Tees, the champs are coming into town this week.
Starting point is 00:01:12 The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will join the Titans for a joint practice in Nashville leading up to their preseason game. We're going to talk about what we want to see from the team as they take on the defending champs. We're also going to talk about Cam Ward, of course, what he needs to do to bounce back from a shaky performance in the preseason opener. But maybe just as important as Cam Ward as the guy's protecting Cam Ward, fellas. And that's where I want to start today.
Starting point is 00:01:35 I was thoroughly impressed with J.C. Latham at the podium yesterday. I thought there was a level of maturity, humility, and self-awareness that I don't think we would have gotten from JC last year or the year prior. And I think he understands that this is a crucial year for him, going to the back end of that rookie deal. it's kind of time to put up or shut up and show that you are worth that first round pick draft value that the Titans took years ago. Are we going to get the J.C. Latham that maybe Titans fans thought they were getting when they first drafted him. Bihaw, I'll start with you on that one. I guess that's the polarizing question. What kind of J.C. Latham did you think you were going to get?
Starting point is 00:02:22 I mean, he played left tackle his first year, played right tackle his second year. He's going to his second system after Brian Callahan was released of duty. So, you know, it's been a lot of adjustment and a lot of flexibility that's surrounded this dude since he got here in camp. And the one thing I've seen most from him is at least a trajectory of consistency where he's getting better. You know, I think that when you find somebody that you can play alongside of for however long you're going to be here, that makes the job easier. And right guard is still in flux. You know what I mean? And so at this point, I think that what they found is a little consistency,
Starting point is 00:02:58 him working with Carmona, Fernando Carmona, at the right guard spot, maybe more productivity than Cordell Bolson would have brought at this point. And that's the reason why you're seeing Carmona getting most of the reps at right guard. They communicate well. What you saw at the podium is a guy that's developing. What you saw at the podium is a guy that's more comfortable being a professional. And it shows almost everything that he does, fellas. his technique is better.
Starting point is 00:03:24 He understands this offense better, and it albeit a new offense. However, Brian Dayball is teaching him, it seems to be more absorbed by what he's doing nowadays than what he's done in the past. So I think that that's why you see a guy that you kind of look at and listen to Robert Sala when he talks about him. He said he has a potential to be a pro bowler. He just don't throw that out there, you know what I mean? Especially for a guy that has been so, like I said, polarizing,
Starting point is 00:03:49 captivating to say at least. But I think that this is one giant foot forward. that he's taken in this training camp so far, guys. Well, he better have the ability to be a pro bowler because he was a top 10 draft pick. So if you don't have the ability to be a pro bowler, has a top 10 pick in your third, fourth season, you know, that's a problem in and of itself, you know.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So that's good to hear, but he does look more on balance to me. I think one problem I've had with Latham throughout the first two years of his career is he, you know, for a guy that's as strong as him, if he's just on balance, it's going to be impossible to get through him. He's just wide and big and strong. but his feet can get a little too close together
Starting point is 00:04:25 and when your feet are too narrow, your base isn't wide enough, you get off balance. People can move you with their strong arms and then they create lanes to get through. So I saw him look pretty, pretty on balance against San Francisco. And you're right, Brad.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Him and Fernando Carmona together, they were pile driving guys out of the way on those down blocks, those double teams at the line of scrimmage and climb up to the second level. They were moving bodies. So I think those two guys as road graders together. See, Kevin Zitler,
Starting point is 00:04:52 was more of a pass blocker last year. He was a good player. Like he didn't give up a lot of pressures. He's been a good player for a long time. But at his age, he isn't that physical, nasty road grader that you maybe would want from your right-hand side next to J.C. Latham. So now having Carmona, who does have that nasty streak,
Starting point is 00:05:10 I think that's influence in Latham. And he talked about being cognizant about being more physical this year. And I think when you have a guy next to you like Carmona, who is just naturally a little bit. physical and nasty, that has the ability to have a little bit of an impact, to inspire, you know what I mean, to raise that level. So I think it's a good combination and it is good for J.C. Latham going forward. J.C. Latham on that physicality, there's no revolution without bloodshed.
Starting point is 00:05:38 What a bar. That's a bar, right? And look, like to J.C's, I guess to his side of this thing, like he came from IMG and in Alabama. Like, you're not losing a lot of games at those schools. And then all of a sudden, to come to a Titans organization that was rebuilding, losing a lot of games in his first two seasons, I can understand why that may be a little bit mentally difficult. He hired that mental coach of the Browns Week last year. You know, I think it was a lot, it took a lot for somebody like that who's probably been told his entire life, you're the greatest thing since sliced bread. And then all
Starting point is 00:06:18 of a sudden to get a dose of reality from NFL players and week after week, it could be kind of tough. And so we talk about the potential of that right side guys. You know, Fernando Carmona obviously has the inside track to win the starting job as it stands right now. Oh, he won. I'm tired of this. He won. He's a rookie. And Sala just came out and said, he's starting again this week. He's a rookie over a guy who was drafted last year in the same round. And Voulson, who's a veteran. Let's just He won, man. They could say it's ongoing if they want, but this thing's over. Well, let me ask you guys this, because that right side, you guys talk about the nastiness
Starting point is 00:06:55 that it brings and the physicality that they've played with so far. Brad, you mentioned how they communicate pretty well. And then the left side, I think Dan's been pretty serviceable for the most part. Peter, we don't have to worry about him. And Austin Shloatman's been solid at center. Do you guys feel better about the offensive line now than you did three weeks ago? Beha. Well, let me ask you this question.
Starting point is 00:07:15 What would you think basically, would you think any differently if Fernando Camona if he was drafted in the third of the second round, your level of expectation for him? Maybe second round, but probably not third round to fifth round. If he was drafted at like 80 or something, I wouldn't feel much differently than fifth round, no. I would think first and second round means he's starting right away from the jump. Yeah, top 50, yeah. Second round grades are what some people were giving him. You just don't throw that out there.
Starting point is 00:07:43 So the point I'm trying to make is he was taken in the fifth round and that kind of sets in our brain that that's where he is. Oh, he's a fifth round pick. No, no, no, no. This cat had second round grades by a lot of people. So if he were taken in the second round, you'd automatically think differently of who Carmona Fernando or Fernando Carmona is, right? I don't know why I keep getting that kid's name mixed up, Fernando, Carmona Fernando. But the point I'm trying to make is, Robert had talked about how important communication is. And it seems like in a short period of time with Carmona being in the lineup, he and J.C. are communicating.
Starting point is 00:08:13 very well. That's why you saw the effectiveness in those zone blocks. That's why you saw them basically having the same mindset when it comes to the nastiness and violence that it takes to be successful up front. And if I can recall in my career, playing alongside of Bruce Matthews for 10 years, a lot of what we did together was subliminal. We didn't even have a talk. And I actually asked JC about that the other day. Like, you know, how's the communication going? And actually, Dan Moore was one that said that too about he communicating better with Peter Skoronsky. And that's why you think you see more consistency. We're not talking about Dan Moore as much this training camp, are we?
Starting point is 00:08:52 No. And sometimes the quietness is the good thing. Because if we're talking about how he was getting his head caved in every single way, how Jermaine Johnson was beating the crap out of him every day or, you know, Jacob Martin or, you know, any of the other guys are in the lineup. That's not the case because why he and Peter are talking better. the right side with Carmona and J.C. are talking better. Slotman is a professional. He knows this offense by Brian Dayball better than anybody up front because he played in it when he was in New York.
Starting point is 00:09:20 So the communication is better and that's vital when you're talking about guys up front because you've got to be able to recognize the fronts. You've got to be able to see some tendencies and be able to shut down those stunts and blitzes and those crazy things that they're going to try and throw at you because no one just lines up and goes forward. It doesn't do that. So you've got to be able to talk. And that's why we're seeing a more effective offensive line, maybe because Brian Daeball is also not trying to let them drink from a fire hose. This is just a, you know, a regular water fountain, basically. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:09:49 Just one of them gatorade squeeze bottles. You know, you're standing with the fire department when you decide to you aimed at your forehead. So I think that's probably one of the reasons why we're not having this discussion as dire as we have been over the past few years about what they're doing up front. And you talk about Brian Daibol, and you're right, the offense can help the offensive linemen as well, and that's something that we didn't see enough last year. But I think we need to give credit to Carmen Brissillo, the offensive line coach as well. And listen, I'm not there watching practice to see how these coaches
Starting point is 00:10:19 communicate. I just have theories, you know what I mean? But me, based on the interviews that we've seen with Carmen Brissillo compared to the interviews that we got from Bill Callahan for a while, Carmen Brissillo seems like more of a, I don't want to say talkative. It's not like he's a huge energetic Aaron Whitecott and Yellen type guy, but he just seems to want to articulate a little bit more. He just seems to give more detailed answers to everything. And I wonder if maybe, you know, Bill Callahan's had a lot of success. He's an older guy, he's been in the league.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Maybe Carmen Brissillo is just communicating a little bit better with the offensive line. Taking that extra second to make sure they understand certain things. I think that could be a factor as well. I just, you know, Brian Dable deserves his credit. But Carmen Brissillo has done a really good job of getting those guys ready to go and creating that communication and understanding. And you're right, Brad, there was a couple of stunts. I know it's San Francisco's backup defensive line. Everybody's going to bring that up anytime you talk about anything. But, you know, they did a good job
Starting point is 00:11:17 communicating some of those stunts. And they didn't give up any pressure on that right-hand side. The only real pressure of the day came from Pete and Dan Moore not executing and communicating a stunt properly. So you got to give all the credit in the world to Carmen Bracillo, Brian Dable as well. but J.C. Latham and Fernando and that's why Cormona is the most exciting option because he has a real future with J.C. Latham and with the Titans being a rookie. So that's what's most exciting.
Starting point is 00:11:43 And Isaac's the assistant officer line coach. As a matter of fact, he was the one that was impressive upon the offensive line. Hey, look, y'all need to play with some physicality. You guys have been to liability over the past few years and let's get this thing straight. As a matter of fact, when talking to Carmen and telling him what a great job I think he's done so far, he credited Isaac for his communication with those guys because he speaks O-line.
Starting point is 00:12:06 He does. Man of Faith really tries to get the most out of his guy. So it's a combination of all those guys that are actually working. And Tyler, I go back to something you said earlier about a top 10 pick basically needing to get into the Pro Bowl. 49 of 100 of the top 10 picks in the last 10 years have gone to the Pro Bowl. Every single first rounder has gone to the Pro Bowl. I actually pull it up here. Hold on one second.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Every single first rounder is gone. All but one second rounder have gone. All but two, third rounders have gone. All but three fifth rounders have gone. Only three, six rounders, one seventh rounder. Nobody from the eighth, ninth, and tenth picks went to the Pro Bowl in the first ten. In their, you know, as a draft pick in the first top ten picks. All the top ten.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Yeah. Yeah. So that's what I meant. I probably said that wrong. So of the top 10 picks, every single first pick of the draft went to the Pro Bowl. And it rapidly declined after that all the way down to the 10th pick. No 10th pick in the last 10 years has made the Pro Bowl. What was pick 7?
Starting point is 00:13:14 Pick 7. It was 1. In 2017, one 7th pick went to the Pro Bowl. In the 8th, 9th and 10th pick, nobody went. In the sixth pick, one, two, three, four, five people went of the top. And that shows you how hard drafting in the NFL is. You could pick a guy in the top ten. You don't even know if he's going to be good.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Yeah, well, picks one through five, everybody made it, but seven. You know, so. Yeah. Yeah, if you think about it that way. But like, to your point, though, if you're a first round pick, if you're a first pick of the draft, you're going to the provable, at least in the last 10 years it's shown that. You know what I mean? So, and that's what you're going to do you know what?
Starting point is 00:13:58 you would expect, right? You expect the best player taken in the draft to be good enough to make a proble. You know, you, well, in why these statistics, it actually, it rings true. So in the second round, only one dude didn't make it. I wonder who that was. The one guy that didn't make the proble is the second pick of the draft. That's, yeah. Well, and that leads us right into our next conversation after the break here. Cam Moore, can he continue to develop to become another first overall pick going to a Pro Bowl. Titans fans would love that as he goes into year two. We'll talk about what we need to see out of the second year QB next here on the Titans show. Don't go in. What's going on everybody? My name is Ross Jackson, host of the Lockdown at
Starting point is 00:14:42 at Saints podcast. And today's Lockdown episode is brought to you by our friends at Basque and Lather. I've been using Bask and Lather's all natural, 100% organic hair care products for my beard for a couple of years now. And it's been a lifesaver because I used to have some bad beard care habits. I'm talking over-the-counter shampoo and the beard type stuff that created this brittle, scratchy and uncomfortable beard that I just had to wear around all the time. But now the game done changed. Thanks to Basque and Lather, I got their beard care starter kit, which gave me shampoo, conditioner, oil balm, and their hair growth stimulator formula as well. And now my beard is full. It's soft but strong. And the confidence is on 10. And it's all thanks to Basque and Lather.

That's 20% off at Baskin Lather C.O.com code locked on. All right, fellas, Cam Ward was 5.12. What? You'd be doing the Baskin Lather. Hey, I'll do anything that Ross Jackson says. He's the leader in the captain, so I believe him.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Ross, yes, from our Locked on Saints podcast, that's for sure. On the, you know, Cam Ward topic, he was five for 12, 57 yards, had a great opening drive, 95-yard touchdown drive, led the offense to score. It was okay, Julian. It was okay. He had the screen past the Gunner Helm. He had an easy dump off on mesh on the drag, Calvin Ridley. He took what the defense gave him.
Starting point is 00:16:20 He took lay up. And I think that is one thing I want you guys to kind of dive into is because it made it look easy on that opening drive. Obviously, the run game was a huge part of that and the offensive line anchoring it. But the final two drives coming up empty against 49ers backup players left a lot of Titans fans in a frenzy this past week. Now, he has had some really good practices over the last couple of days.
Starting point is 00:16:46 What would you like to see from Cam as he goes into another crucial joint practice week and preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks? Tyler, I'll go with you here. This is what's frustrating most to me is Brian Dable basically put the training wheels on and took him out into the street to learn how to run. And he crashed with the training wheels on. Like that is, you know, like you just ran into the neighbor's car with the training wheels. How are you doing that?
Starting point is 00:17:10 That's what he literally tried. Dable tried his best to give him easy warm up throws to get the confidence going. Just have it, you know, the difficulty on rookie. Just go out and it still didn't go well. That is the most disappointing thing. And I'm to the point now where I'll be honest, nothing that happens in the practices makes me feel much better anymore.
Starting point is 00:17:32 You know, like he bounced back in practice. Okay, great. You know, like that can't get back anything for me at this point in the preseason schedule. So he needs to go out there against Seattle and they're not going to play their starters either. They're going to play all their backups. I bet when we go into the preseason game.
Starting point is 00:17:50 And they're saying that they're going to play Cam almost a half time now. I don't know about that philosophy, but if that's what's going to happen, then he's going to have ample opportunity. People act like, oh, it's panic. It's panic. Cam had these little accuracy issues in college. I broke it down on tape before he was drafted. Last year, we talked about it every week on tape that sometimes he misses the layups. He can get a little too rushed and not hit the easy ones.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And you've got to hit those to keep an offensive drive moving in the NFL. If you can't hit those little layups, that's what ultimately doomed Marcus Mariotta. when it was the end of Marcus's time in Tennessee in 2019 is when he started missing those easy layups. And it's like we can't even run in offense. If you can't hit these little quick easy ones, like we're just not going to be able to do it. And then they went to Tanna Hill.
Starting point is 00:18:38 So that's much further down the line is a concern. I'm just saying if you can't even hit those easy layups with consistency, you have no chance to be a great player in the NFL. So we need to see that get cleaned up. And like Robert Salas said, it's not panic, but it's urgency. It has to be cleaned up now. Yeah, I don't know that easy layups is what San Francisco's was giving him defensively. My mom basically when I went over there yesterday to her house, she says,
Starting point is 00:19:05 Cam was holding on the ball too long. Yeah, he's nervous. And I said, okay, well, Mom, I need you to recognize some things. First off, we give way too much credit for the actual quarterback is. There are four elements of every single play that need to take place for him to have success. One, like you mentioned, is play calling. two is protection. Three is execution and the four are the options. Now I'll break those down. Brian Dayball has to put Cam in the perfect position to obviously have a play to be successful.
Starting point is 00:19:34 You know, obviously master play calling, so I'm not questioning that at all. If a guy gets beat up front immediately, the play breaks down immediately. So the big body's got to protect up front. Cam has to see what options are available to him with a relative quickness to be able to get the ball out accurately and on time. And then, of course, his options, guys got to get open. That has been an issue for this team for years, almost seemingly.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Who's the guy that can beat press coverage? Who's a guy that you know is going to be open as soon as Cam's back foot hits the ground? Because at the end of the day, I was telling my mom, you think Cam wants to sit back in the pocket and hold the football? He doesn't get any more style points for throwing a ball late or off target. So when he's looking at his first guy, if that guy's not open,
Starting point is 00:20:16 you've got to be able to quickly get off of him and go through your next progression of guys to find the most accurate guy. But if the defense is shutting down people, that's also an issue. So all four of those elements have to play. It's not just the quarterback stepping back and him getting rid of the football or throwing it. Sometimes there was accuracy issues. He could probably could have he missed a couple of guys. But at the end of the day, what I want him to do is be able to recognize what he has quicker.
Starting point is 00:20:42 I need guys to get open and I need more consistency in the middle. And why I say the middle is because we didn't see much edge pressure. saw a lot of people in Cam's face forcing him outside, which meant that he couldn't step up in the pocket to be able to avoid whatever rush is coming from the outside. So I just need all those things to be consistent. It's not just Cam stepping back there. The past game, which was the problem, because 166 yards rushing, they obviously weren't having any problems running the football. But what we saw Cam get into problems is what? The intentional grounding, now that creates bad down in distances, anytime you're working in third and, like,
Starting point is 00:21:19 like anything higher than, say, nine or ten, you're in trouble. You know what I mean? So what you do on first and second down determines how effective you can be on third down, and then that determines whether your job will be easier to continue to drives or if you're going to be sitting on the sideline because we're with a three and out. Well, part of Cam's superpower, as we know, is his ability to extend plays and to do the spectacular and to play backyard football in a way. We saw glimps of that last year.
Starting point is 00:21:45 Do you guys maybe think the fact that he is a big game hunter? And last year there were so many times where he just didn't take the boring thing, like throw it away and not make a first or second and 10 instead of it's second and 15 and you're in a worse situation. Julian, think of the mentality of the quarterback. The mentality of quarterback is probably throw this ball in one play 20 yards versus two plays running the football to get 20 yards. That's their mindset. But sometimes those two plays to get 20 yards running the football are the most effective thing, wearing down a defense, giving you much more options. But quarterbacks innately think that they have to take over the game.
Starting point is 00:22:28 Okay. And we call those guys that have that kind of mindset to where they don't have to be the forefront game managers. Game managers. Because they're not slinging the bean. Because obviously the offense, it's predicated on what big plays, explosive plays. people want to see the ball thrown down the field, which is the only reason why seven on seven is anything. You know what I'm saying? You don't ever watch thousands of people packing a stadium to watch nine on seven, do you?
Starting point is 00:22:56 Because it's running or a section, right? It's kind of, as people would say, boring. Why is running the football boring? Every offensive coordinator, every single one of them to a man knows how important it is to be able to run the football. And you've got to find that balance. But I think for Cam, if he sits down and listens to the T leaves about, oh, he's not out throwing. Oh, he's just handing off to Tajay and Tony. Oh, he's just, you know, this, that, and the third because he's not getting Ehrlich involved. He's not getting
Starting point is 00:23:21 carnel Tate involved. He's not getting all these other things, especially with a fourth round pick. That's even more pressure for him to get the past game engaged. You know what I mean? So at the end of the day, you've got to be able to blot out the white noise and do the most effective things like we saw in that first 11 plays that ultimately ended up in the end zone with a run play. It's not that bad a deal. Not that big a deal. Well, Cam's got to earn the right to go big play hunting. It's like how defensive coaches say you've got to earn the right to pass rush by stopping the run.
Starting point is 00:23:49 You've got to eat your vegetables for you're allowed to have your steak in the NFL. And if Cam isn't consistent enough on the easy, boring stuff, he's not going to get to take full advantage of the exciting stuff that he wants to do. That's a reality. And Brad, you're right about all that context and everything that goes into making an offense
Starting point is 00:24:05 work. But I will just say, based on what happened in San Francisco, the offense not working was 100% Cam Ward's fault. Like, there was no pressure outside of the one Dan Moore play where they were bailed out by a holding penalty. Cam created his own pressure and hurt JC. J.C. Latham played great. Cam ran into pressure a couple times making it harder on J.C. Latham. His guys were open on a lot of those plays and he sailed it and missed it. He was all timing like, you know, the offense could not operate properly outside of the run
Starting point is 00:24:36 game because Cam was just all out of sorts. And the very first play that he threw the ball, it was a play action pass, he gets to the top of his drop, and he has never settled. Like his feet are horizontal instead of vertically. You know, when you throw a baseball or a football, your feet should be in front of each other. You're going forward. His feet are sideways like he's standing up to take a picture with his chest out, you know? And he never, and he scrambles up for it. It's just so obvious he's so worried about the pressure from last year.
Starting point is 00:25:05 The bullets were really flying and he's just going 100 miles per hour. So he's sped up on all his throws. he's not settled in the pocket. He's moving around too much. His feet aren't set, you know. So I think it's good that he got out there. And everybody act like, oh, you know, now we can end the conversation on Cam.
Starting point is 00:25:21 That's who he is. But like, that's just a warm up for him. And he's a gamer as well. He's somebody who really loves the game. Like he wants to get hit a little. He's one of those quarterbacks that likes to kind of get in the fray a little bit and argue with the linebackers and the delinement and get into it, like with that physical nature and not just be the quarterback away.
Starting point is 00:25:39 So I'm happy that he got going. But it's fair if you're a Titans fan and watch that game to be like, man, that was concerning. It is concerning, but it's about urgency, not panic. I'm not sure what we should expect from a guy learning a brand new system in his first preseason game. A lot better. You should expect a lot. There were rookie quarterbacks that played a lot better than Cam, and they're in new systems with new coaches and new NFL, and they played.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Like Curtis O'Rourke, you know, I don't care what the circumstances are. He absolutely outplayed Cam. never happened with the number one. And that, okay, I wouldn't compare the two because we saw Dejohn Struggling just eating up that defense even during the joint practice. So the things that we saw not just work doing. He's good. But Rock Purdy was doing the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:26:26 So while we're comparing, I think it was almost apples to oranges with what our defense was giving up, comparatively speaking to what San Francisco's defense was giving up. Because we saw Deshawn striven kept making catch up, catch up, catch up. That is a real concern. And guess what? while we're talking about concerns, there was no pressure on work either. And that's why at times we was able to basically get the ball down the field over the middle of the field and make those big plays, guys not knocking people out of bounds, you know, when they needed to make those big plays and get out of,
Starting point is 00:26:55 and get off the field. You know what I mean? So I think I understand what you're saying about young quarterbacks around the league taking advantage of situations, but also look at what was a playing field level. You know, it did seem like the 49ers defense was a little more tight and a little more together. against Cam, then our defense was against Curtis. I can't give the defense. And Cam just missed throws.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Like, the defense didn't even on those. He did miss some throws. He definitely put this way. And it's the San Francisco backups. I'm not saying that Cam didn't need to improve. All I'm saying is that I'm looking at the trajectory in him getting better every single week. Now, in other words, if we see the same problems that we saw in week one and week two, now you've got a pattern.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Yes. But I'm not going to sit there and go out in this first game and say and throw rinse Cam out with the bath, baby out with the bathwater because he didn't necessarily look as sharp as he could have because there were instances when they did things a different way in that first series that made him look way more effective. Nobody was complaining about Cam Ward and the driver he put together in that first one. It was the second one when he took the intentional grounding,
Starting point is 00:28:03 when he started and trying to run around the pocket because he's now dealing with longer down in distances. Now you're in that area. it is harder to be successful in that situation. So if he actually shows us in week two working against another really, really good defense that this is just him as a pattern, now you have something to work with. But if he goes out there and does some of the things that we saw in OTAs or many camps
Starting point is 00:28:27 and more effective and efficient and moving the football around, getting it out of his hands, now you can just, it's a one-off. We'll see what happens in game three against the Bears. Yeah. Urgency, not panic. Sala was exactly. That was a great quote by Solomon. I love that.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Yeah. I think two things can be true, fellas. I think we could acknowledge that it was only the first preseason game in a new system for him, but also acknowledge that he probably would have liked to play better than he did. That's for sure. On the other side of the break, the champs are coming into town, the Seattle Seahawks, what we want to see from the team in general when the Titans take them on for joint practices and a crucial preseason game. All right, guys, we knew the preseason was going to be a gauntlet just as far as the reputation from the teams that were going to be facing the Tennessee Titans.
Starting point is 00:30:23 They have one out of the way in San Francisco. It was a good growth week for the Titans. I think we could say that. Now they are going to week two of the preseason against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. Tyler, what do you hope to see from this team as they go from the first set of joint practices in preseason games to the second? Just compete. Just be competitive.
Starting point is 00:30:45 We know they're not as good as Seattle. I mean, come on. Like let's just all be real for a second. We know that. So I just want to see them be competitive. I don't want to hear what we heard last week that San Francisco was getting physical with them and they were throwing punches.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And I know it was Brian Dable who threw the Titans players out of the practice. It wasn't like it was like a ref or a neutral party or something like that. Like Dable could have left his guys in when San Francisco was leaving their guys in. When their guys were doing extracurricular stuff, the Titans were just holding their guys to a higher standard is what it sound like. to me in terms of what we're going to allow you to do at practice. But I just hope that the Titans meet the fight, you know, just show fight, just be competitive, get better.
Starting point is 00:31:26 You know that you're not better than the team that you're going. They can't think like that, but we can acknowledge that on the side. I hope the Titans players aren't thinking like that going into it. But again, after last week's quote unquote, loss to San Francisco in the practice and then, you know, they won the game, but the first stringers didn't play well. I just want to see them improve and do better and be competitive and look like they deserve to be out on the same field with Seattle. Be hot.
Starting point is 00:31:53 You're on mute, Brad. Sorry. Thank you. Commercials. This is, no, no, appreciate that. This is preseason, okay? I want them to keep some of their powder dry. I want them to continue to get better every single week.
Starting point is 00:32:08 I want them to be hitting all cylinders in September, not the middle of August. But I do need to show, need them to show improvement. I do need them to do what Robert Sala said by design. is I just want to see who can play in the national football. A lot of what they're doing right now, guys, is assessing, assessing who they have, assessing what works. You know, they're not going into it with any sort of concerted game plan. Why?
Starting point is 00:32:32 Because why would you give the New York Jets, you know, look at what you're trying to do? Why would you give, you know, those teams early on in an indication of what your tendencies are going to be? You're not. You just want to basically see if you guys can go out and compete. What I do love, fellas, is the fact that this. team is getting itself ready for the 2026 season against the best competition in the national football league.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Yep. And if you can go out there and not look like you need to be picking first in a draft next year because you're just inept in all phases of the game, you know, that's not what I expect. But what I do expect is for them to not literally, but figuratively, like you said, Tyler, bring the fight. You know what I'm saying? Show some moxie. Show some confidence.
Starting point is 00:33:18 One of the things that Robert Sala said at his first press conference, you know, when they first started training camp, when he in Borgo took the podium was confidence is determined by the loudness of your voice. Another bar. So by the end of camp, we want to be, we want to be yelling. You know what I'm saying? And that's what leads you to be able to, when you step on that football field to be able to win and lose ball games, your confidence level. And confidence only comes from doing things right and seeing yourself improve week to week and doing it against the best play. that you possibly can. And that's what happened.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Here, I'm going to tell you one reason why. You know why Fernando Carmona is doing so well? Because he's playing against the best defensive tackle in the National Football League every single play. Yeah. How much do you think that that's making him better? What do you think Sundays are going to look like for Carmen from Carmona when he steps out on the football field?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Oh, this ain't 98. Yeah, exactly. This ain't 98. And look at the Jets. You know, look at the Jets do not have any defensive tackle. like they have a crew of guys who are decent players, but they don't have anybody even close to the level of JFM even, you know, let alone Jeffrey Simmons.
Starting point is 00:34:27 So it's going to feel like, you know, where you put the weight on your back when you swing, when you're in the on deck circle, so you get up there in the backslider. That's what the Jets are going to, Jets D-line is going to feel like for the Titans O line when we get there. And I know Sunday, like the preseason games are important to get actual game tape, right?
Starting point is 00:34:44 But I'm really looking at the joint practices because that's where you're going to go against Seattle's starters, right? Seattle's probably not playing their big guns in the game. So the Friday joint practice, that's the time for the O-Line to go up against Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy. That's the time for the secondary to go up against Jackson Smith and Jigba and Cooper Cup. That's a time for, you know, the run stoppers to go against Kenneth Walker and those guys like that. That's going to be, I think. Kenneth Walker's in Kansas City, but yes. Duh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, crazy moved by them, but yes, you're right. Yes. So just the overall quality of players they're going to be facing in the joint practice
Starting point is 00:35:20 is going to be more so than what they're facing in the preseason game. And when you talk about compete, Tyler, that may be where the rubber meets the road kind of when it comes to evaluating this team and finding what they are made of like Brad is saying. What do you guys feel about fighting and practices? Obviously, there's been a ton of it for the Titans. It feels like every week there's a fight. And San Francisco was no exception, right? And Jermaine Johnson was asked about it yesterday. And he just kind of, you know, shrugged it off. And he kind of is the guy that wants to compete. What do you guys think? Because I'd assume there's going to be even more chippiness this week. I'm leaving this to Brad. I'm not even going to answer this. Brad, you tell us the man with
Starting point is 00:36:03 real experience on the field out there. Been in many fights. Got ejected from a practice or two. I dig it. But I will say you got to be smart. Nobody wants to throw a punch and hit a face mask and you break your hand and now you're a liability. Nobody wants to get put this way. You're getting thrown out of a game and suspended. You'll maybe a couple of games after that. That's not going to work for anybody. But what I do need for you to show me you got my back. And the L.I. and Man had gotten in the fight yesterday. And there was a little fur flying. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't anything to where people were, you know, left to the sideline. But the. The.
Starting point is 00:36:42 One thing I looked at Will Bowling and said was, hey, look, you know, Ella asks to be physical. He asks to run block. He wants to be that guy that's downfield getting after it. You know what I mean? Because that's just the kind of salty guy that he is playing receiver, mind you. But all I need you to know, I need to know that you got my back. Something happens. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:37:01 It does get chippy in a joint practice because at the end of the day, these guys are all wearing the same jersey color practicing against somebody else. That means something. That means that when the office is going against. Seattle's defense, our defense is supporting them. They're cheering them on and vice versa. Now, I know the things are going on simultaneously, so it's not like you're in a game situation
Starting point is 00:37:21 where you're sitting there watching your offense working against that defense and vice versa. But at the end of the day, if it breaks off, pops off, I need to know that you got my back. So that's what a fight is going to determine if you first off have the moxie enough to mix it up or you're going to be just a guy that takes it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:37:40 So there are smart ways to do it. you know me grabbing your face mask nobody talks about trent williams and big jeff pulling each other's face mask they did that but neither one of them then threw a punch and we're lost to practice you don't i'm saying because i think there's a little bit of respect that they all have for each other to be like i'm not going to see her and take a punch at trent williams because first off trent might kill me and the same thing trin's probably saying about big jep because this is just like you know two grizzly bears you know what i'm saying you don't know who who's going to win in a big grizzly bear fight you know what i mean so but what you don't want to
Starting point is 00:38:12 have is a grizzly bear versus a dog. You know what I'm saying? It's just not a fight. You know what I mean? As bad as that dog might be, I'm taking the grizzly bear every single time. Well, if I remember correctly, I think Jeffrey Simmons and Trent Williams did, they were like hanging out together at the Pro Bowl. Like, it was, there was a couple OTs and a couple defensive tackles that did some videos together where, so they probably have like a mutual friend. And I think there is a mutual respect of, hey, that's one of the best players in the league. I'm one of the best play. We're going to tussle, but we're not going to
Starting point is 00:38:44 fight. I agree, Brad. I don't care about the fights. Just don't punch a helmet like an idiot. That is so dumb. Break your hand. Well, throwing a punch, period. You know what I'm saying? It's like, I'm going to grab you. You're going to be talking messing each other's face. That's a fight. That's my kind of stuff too. If somebody's helmet comes off and you throw on a punch, I mean, you know, it's too far. It shows a lack of respect for each other in that way. You know what I mean? It's probably a little more.
Starting point is 00:39:11 So put this way, if it gets to that point, guys, it's been building. It wasn't from that one play. It's probably something that happened, maybe consecutive plays, maybe the last period, you still were thinking about it, you know what I mean? But it wasn't in that instant that you decided to get back to that guy. It was a culmination of things that then decided, hey, you know what? You about to get these paws. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:39:31 That's just about what's happening. I like a shove to the ground. I like a let's shove your helmet onto the ground. Maybe try to gouge out an eye a little bit. shark pool, something in there. There are some other things that people doing bottom of piles. I like that kind of aggression out on the field. Don't throw a punch.
Starting point is 00:39:47 That's the worst. Can I just say this? Go ahead. There is a spirit to contact sports, whether it's shack in the post, elbow and a dude, when he's backing down, whether it's a defensive tackle pushing over a quarterback after a play, just a little shove.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Like, when we play sports and contact sports, there's an element I want to impose my will on you. I want to bowl. of you. Like I am just, I am just going to physically be on you to the point where I don't want to get hit by him again. Brad, you know that you lined up against some D-Linman. They didn't want to get hit anymore. They'd had enough of getting beat by somebody else. And there's like a physical wear down factor to basketball with the big men, to baseball, to wrestling, you know, like real wrestling, technical wrestling, like the Olympics and stuff, where I'm just sick of getting hit by this
Starting point is 00:40:37 guy. There's a bully factor to sport. and teams need bullies so that the other team, there's a couple of guys on the other team, a couple of defensive backs. Man, I got to go against Io Manor today. Man, I got to block Jeffrey Simmons today. I got, you know, like you got to instill that psychological fear in people to win these matchups.
Starting point is 00:40:57 So the Titans need some bullies who will fight you at practice and shove your head into the grass and stuff. They need a little bit of that dog. Yeah, that's why I like Fernando Carmona. That's, I mean, it's the intimidation factor. Yeah. What I would do every single time, especially during the first series, when we roll that football out on that first series and we break the huddle and I'm getting to the line of scrimmings. The one thing I'm doing is I'm eyeballing you down.
Starting point is 00:41:23 I'm getting right to look into your face. If I get across into the defense alignment doing this, trying to avoid my eye contact. Got me one right here. You know what I mean? Now versus that dude that staring me back. Now we know which one of us is after that first snap. that first snap, which one of us is, yeah, what's going to happen here? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:41:43 You might be just trying to, like, you know, show me a little bit of a mask, but in the interior, your heart's beating like a mother. You know what I mean? But at the end of the day, I want to know that, you know, how you're fixed mentally. And that was one thing I used to, shit, mine started in, when we'd line up to say the Flet's, the Star Spangled Banner, I would line up across the field from whoever I was getting ready to go up against because we all had to line up on the sideline.
Starting point is 00:42:08 and I want to make sure you see me. You see the seven tooth? You don't even look anywhere. I'm right here and we're going to stir each other down while they're, while they're saying, you know, O'SA can you see? You know what I mean? Can you see me? That's what I'm saying, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:42:22 Hey, Bih, did you ever get some guy just like trying not to look at you? All the time. That's why I did it because that was an indicator to me. I'm already, I almost want to give a little smirk for the guy that's trying to side-eye me, you know, versus if you're standing there, squared up and you and you eyeball me before i and if i turn around i break the huddle and you're already staring at me they hope shoot this guy might be ready to play but if you want to be you know like okay here's one real quick you know when you're in an mma fight or a boxing match and the and the
Starting point is 00:42:52 ref brings the two fighters to the middle of the ring yeah and the one guy that's looking down and you know like right i don't see you stare me in the face you know that it's a little showmanship but it does mean something there you know what i mean mean something. There are those instances when that guy that's looking around and looking down on the rest that's not eyeballed him, he's just trying to set this other guy up. As soon as it goes ding-ding, he's across that ring and it's just, it's on like Donkey Kong. You know what I mean? But for the most part, man, those are true indicators of who's ready to play and who's not. This isn't Madden. It's not robots out there with attributes and, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:30 these six things like, that's a person in there with emotions and thoughts and that psychological Warfare will always be a key factor in life and in sports. No, 100%. 100%. On the other side of the break, we're going to have some questions from the live chat and do our best to answer as many as we can here in the Titan Squad show, whether it's about the practice, the preseason, all of it. That's next.
Starting point is 00:44:00 StevieB.0.orgity TV asks, how long is Mitch Tribisky out? He injured his bicep yesterday. He's getting it checked. Robert Salas seemed pretty optimistic. But it does lead to another question, guys. is opportunity time for Will Levis, you think. Yeah. Well, for a number of different reasons.
Starting point is 00:44:19 I don't think that anything that happened to Mitch is substantial. Yeah. So if you do see him on the sideline, it'll probably be maybe for the next week or whatever. It's just preseason. And do you think Mitchell Trebisky needs preseason? Come on, man. It's going to be a backup. If anything, he'll get healthy during the first couple of few weeks of the regular season while Cam's doing his thing.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Put this one. We don't want to see Mitchell Chubisky. We don't want to have to worry about it. how healthy he is because he's not the starter. And it won't be. Now, what is going to happen is Will Levis will get more reps. And that could be auditions for anybody. I mean, that could also raise trade value.
Starting point is 00:44:57 You know, just thinking if Henning Hooker is your practice squad guy, because we all know that it's already been said by Will Levis that there aren't 32 better quarterbacks in the national football league than him as far as starters, that's his mentality. So you think he's going to be okay sitting behind Mitchell Taviski as the emergency or practice squad guy? No. So what he's going to try and do is show somebody else, whether it's Arizona, Miami. Gino's dinged up a little bit in New York.
Starting point is 00:45:27 You know what I mean? So there are teams out there. Of course, he's not even considered for the New York trade because we play them in a regular season. You want him going out to give him all you trade secrets and what Brian DeBos trying to run. So that's not even an option. But the point being, if he's thinking about playing football in 2020, He knows that that road starts here with him being able to get on the football field, work with some of the better receivers than at one-two rotation,
Starting point is 00:45:51 and show somebody somewhere that he can actually play this game. You know what I mean? And then the Titans will get on the phone and be like, hey, man, you see Will Levis, my man's looking pretty good, huh? What'd you give me for? What'd you give me for him? You know what I mean? That could be the conversation.
Starting point is 00:46:06 We don't know how long Mitchell Trebisky is out right now. It hasn't been announced, but Brad, if you're right, Robert Salas said, you know, that he didn't think it was anything long term either. But then he's like, I'm an eternal optimist. So I don't even know if he knew he was just trying to manifest that it wasn't anything. But it's probably like a bruised biceps or, you know, maybe somebody hit his arm while he was throwing or something. But quite frankly, that's the best thing that could possibly happen for the Titans.
Starting point is 00:46:30 This is because like Brad said, we don't need to see Mitch Trubiski. He's a 30-year-old veteran backup who knows the system. He doesn't need to play. And now Levis gets an opportunity to throw to Elykeye Manor, to throw to Chim D.K., to throw to Xavier Restrepo and KJ Osborne and more Bryce Oliver and be behind the second string offensive line. Brad, you don't have to corroborate this if you want, but there have been some people who are at practice, not people talking to me directly, but like on the radio and people
Starting point is 00:46:57 have reported it and stuff that maybe Levis hasn't had the best body language all throughout camp. Maybe he's him in and hauling and frustrated with his teammates and stuff like that because he's playing with the third string. Well, you don't get that excuse anymore with the second string. So now you get to play with the second string. You're going to play against Seattle. You're going to play a ton in the game. If Will Levis is ever, like I said,
Starting point is 00:47:20 if Willevis is ever going to be somebody who another team wants to trade for, this next couple of weeks is when he's going to prove it. So it's now or never for Will Levin. I was starting to feel bad a little bit for Will in the game because he was clearly getting dinged up and frustrated. Now, some of that was his fault too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:37 But he was behind the third string offensive line, throwing the third string targets. And, you know, for him, knowing that he wants a fresh start somewhere and he's auditioning for the 31 NFL teams, there were some plays that he was just a battering ram out there. You know, there were a couple of design runs that he was just like, I'm just going to take it myself. You know what I mean? So this is great.
Starting point is 00:47:56 This is the opportunity now for him, like you mentioned, Tyler, to go against maybe the second string and third string or of the defending champions and to throw to targets that are going to get regular burn in an NFL game like Ellic Ayo Manor in Chimdke. And so if there was a chance for the Titans to pimpe him out and say, hey, there he is. You know, there's our sixth round. We're looking for that sixth round pick. This is the week. Well, they got to pimpe him out with you going.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Good Lord. You know what? You're right, Tyler. Body language does speak volumes. Yeah. As, as, as mixed a performance as we saw from Cam Ward, did you ever see any indication of how he was looking that he was having such a, you know, a so-so game? No, no, because that's important. But how many times do we see, like you said, Julian, you know, the double chin strap snatch.
Starting point is 00:48:56 You know what I mean? Yeah. Or just the, just the, and that has been his MO almost forever. Yep. He's not, he doesn't have a good, he doesn't have a good, he doesn't have. have a good poker face. He wears his hard on his sleeve, man. I mean, it's what he does. It's almost like, just turn your cards
Starting point is 00:49:12 around and let us see him. Because that's the way you're acting in that instance, you know what I'm saying? So I just need him to be just, you know, maybe just being an emotional guy as part of who he is. I get that. I mean, there are a lot of players that are like that. But I certainly don't want to give you any
Starting point is 00:49:27 indication that I'm frustrated or that what you're doing against me is working. You know what I'm saying? And as far as as the design runs, why did Kim get any design run? You know, it's like, too dangerous. But it's okay to do it to Will? Right.
Starting point is 00:49:45 It will's an okay runner. You know, Will has got a little bit in that bag. He did a little wildcat stuff at Penn State. So I think if he gets a chance in the NFL, people will probably try to have a little bit of Taysome Hill, you know, to packages with him potentially. I doubt it, but if he's going to make it in the league, that might be part of it.
Starting point is 00:50:04 Well, if you look at the three quarterbacks, out there in the red jerseys, he's the most physically gifted, like, body type-wise. Like, he's taller, broader shoulders. Like, he's got, yeah, it's, it's between the ears for him. Like, and he's a linebacker who was taught, like, his emotion and his up and down nature, that would work if he was a tight end or a linebacker or a running back or something that love that crazy emotion. But you just can't be a quarterback because you influence too many people around you to be that up and down. It's like coaches. You don't want coaches that are up and down emotionally when the game's bad, they're mad, and when the game, because then that affects the whole
Starting point is 00:50:39 team, you know what I mean? So that, that is a problem for Will. Yeah, I was just going to ask, like, if you're another team potentially looking at Will Levis and seeing the body language and how emotional he is, like, is that something you want? Because, like, in the NFL, you guys know it as well as I do, like, they kind of want their quarterbacks to be boring. You know, they don't want them to say too much. They won't want them to be overly emotional because it also causes a problem in the locker room and amongst the QB room is like, does that work against Will in a way that he is an overly emotional player you think when it comes to his attractiveness in the market? I just wonder how well he connects with his skill positions with the guys around.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Yeah. You know what I mean? It's just, you know, you don't always have to go out and share a beer with a guy that you practice with or that's your teammate. But just for whatever reason, I just feel like there's a short in the wire. You know what I mean? Like sometimes it's on. Sometimes it's not.
Starting point is 00:51:32 just not a clean, you know, it's just something there. You know what I mean? So, and I've seen it ever since he's been here. You know what I mean? The guy has a level of confidence in himself, his own abilities. I understand that. But it's also got to correlate with what you're putting on the football field, too. And it just seems to be that the levels are just to pinch off. You know what I mean? So, like, can you imagine Will fishing with some of the wide receivers, the way like Cam fishes with his teammate. That's exactly, that's exactly kind of what you're talking about. That's exactly what I'm talking about. I mean, Cam went to Miami. Cam went to Houston.
Starting point is 00:52:10 He takes, he wants to connect with his guys. He's got the dudes in there at 5.30 in the morning, watching tape. Are you going to want to get up in the 5.30 in the morning to go hang out with Will? I don't know. I'm not in the locker room. You know, I'm in and around the locker room, but I make sure I'm not standing in there, like, you know, in violating their space. You know what I mean? I'm not sitting in the corner with my tablet like, looking around. He gives off him better than you vibes. That's what it, like,
Starting point is 00:52:38 I'm too good to be out here playing with you bums. I didn't say it. I should, I deserve better than this. Yeah, hey, Brad, you're working with the team now. Let me say the bad stuff. I can handle it. I'll be I'll be that guy. You know what I mean? But that's what it feels like is
Starting point is 00:52:54 I'm too good to even be out here with you peasants. You know, that's how it feels. I'm from New England. I'm at the Kentucky Derby with the fancy hat and doing the I'm a big quarterback, you know, like, I don't, I have to admit, I do relate to Will Levis. I am a bit up and down like he is. That's just the reality. I liked having him as a quarterback because it felt like having a guy like me out there,
Starting point is 00:53:17 you know what I mean? But there is an element to you rub people the wrong way when you do stuff like that and your teammates get tired of it when you're up and down. And if they're feeling that he's got that, hey, I'm better than all you third stringers. No wonder. it doesn't feel like things are connected. Behop, there is a couple plays on the Will Levis conversation, talking about over-emotional, where you talk about body language,
Starting point is 00:53:42 where maybe it doesn't go favorably, and obviously you could see it all over his face and his body and his actions. But then in training camp, let's say there is a design like bootleg run and he ran it for a touchdown. He's like high stepping into the end zone. Or there is like, hey, I complete like a pretty good pass over the middle of somebody. And he, you know, shrug, you know, shrugged. shoulders a little bit and kind of superman's it it's it gives off that vibe that tyler is talking about
Starting point is 00:54:08 like really hot really cold but i i should be in a different field than you guys are when he does something well yeah private school kids playing with public school kids it yeah there you go it's like me at golf man i hit a good shot i'm twirling the club i'm putting the sword back in i'm woo but i don't i hit a bad shot i suck i'm never playing again i'm selling my clubs blah blah blah that's how will Levis plays football. That's 100%. So an ex-lob into the drink. Yes.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Oh, man, that's hilarious. One last question before we go, and it's kind of more of a statement, but I wanted to get your guys' thoughts on this. Mac Jesus says, SF, as in the San Francisco 49ers, they're a powerhouse. They've been a powerhouse for years.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Our coach knew the drill. I think he sets us up for failure to see. I think there's an element of that. Yeah, like, like, look at the teams that they're going against in the preseason, like three Super Bowl contenders, too. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:07 And he even said in the interview after practice that nobody knows this defense better than Kyle Shanahan. Yeah. So he literally put his defense up against a dude who knows every single aspect of the defense and how to beat it. You know what I mean? So you could argue that Sala was like, yeah, this is perfect.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Let's do this. Because they're going to dismantle them to give me a lot of tape the coach off up. Yeah. No, 100%. I think that him making it harder on the guys is intentional to a degree because making it easy is not going to make you better. You know, there was a reason why when we landed at 630 in the morning on Friday
Starting point is 00:55:46 that the guys were back at it again on Saturday. You know what I mean? Now, albeit he moved practice back a few because it was supposed to get out there at 1030 and we went out at 2.30 in the heat of the day. It was hot, man. That was brutal. Hey, Seattle. Hey, Seattle. Come get some in his tennis.
Starting point is 00:56:01 see summer, buddy. You know what I mean? Because I know it's been hot in Washington State, but I know that, you know, in Santa Clara, where we just left on the sideline, it was 60 degrees by the time the game was over. It ain't the same, Brad. It ain't the same. That's other heat. Listen, Tyler, we, I had a t-shirt on, you know, and was ready to get inside when the game was over, right? Get on the plane. We landed in Nashville, 630 and 1st, the sun was just coming up. And, bro, when that plane door opened, that heat hit you in the face. Like, you got, wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:31 going, I'm here, man. We in Houston? What are we doing here? It was gross. It was really gross. It was already 86 degrees in the early morning hours. That's not right. Well, Robert Sala did say hope is to help with the Titans,
Starting point is 00:56:46 especially earlier in the season in Tennessee, where you don't know what the weather is going to be like. It could be super humid. It could be a breezy day. That 2.30 practice, yeah, that was, it was toasty out there for the Titans. That's for sure. We wanted to thank you guys for joining us here in the Titan Squad.
