Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, the Tennessee Titan schedule is out for 2026. Odds makers have them at six and a half wins. Will I go over or under on that? We'll talk about it. Starting point is 00:00:59 and use code locked on for $20 off your first purchase. And today it's all. all about the schedule here with the Tennessee Titans. We know their path in 2026, the home games, the away games, the tough stretches, the marquee matchups, as Kayla said at the top, the lack there of primetime games. And we'll get into that here in a second. But I'm going to put the schedule up on screen, guys. And I just want you guys to react and give me some of your big thoughts. Kayla, we'll start with you here.
Starting point is 00:01:26 What do you see when you look at this Titan schedule from a, you know, 360 kind of aerial view here? Yeah, I mean, first and foremost, when you look at the by week, that's one of the first things you kind of go and see where does that buy week land. And I know sometimes it comes really early. Teams have issues with that. Sometimes it comes super late. I feel like the biweek for the most part is in a good spot for them. Again, especially since there is a lot of young pieces here and you don't want it too late in the season or too early. So I like that. We talk. about the primetime games, and I know that there aren't any, but I don't think that necessarily, besides being on national TV, I mean, maybe it's a good thing for this team because really when you look at it, they get a full week of rest every single week. And so with a newer team, with pieces that are new, with finding identity and all of that stuff, I think this is actually not bad when it comes down to those type of things. Yeah, for me, I think that this is the third year.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I mean, it's been three years since we opened here in Nashville, but I think it's been 16 years since we've had back-to-back games at home here in Nashville, which is interesting. Ironically, back in 2010, we started with the Jets and then finished 6 and 10. So it's crazy. But we also have not had one home opener. that we've won in five years. So there's that caveat as well.
Starting point is 00:03:05 And maybe that's probably part of the reason, Kayla, that they're not mentioning us as far as prime time because we just really haven't had that much success. Not only to start the season, but in recent years, you know, collectively, you know, we still are a below average team when you look at the cumulative schedule and the results from that. Yeah, you know, the big thing that sticks out to me, guys. Number one, it's obviously a more favorable schedule than last year
Starting point is 00:03:29 because last year was an absolute gauntlet. It felt like a playoff team, you know, every single week. So I think it's more favorable to get to that, you know, what I said at the top, odds makers have them at six and a half wins. And if you're considering doubling your win total as a successful season, at least what I do is I think there's an easier path there. Yes, there is a prime time snub. And it's disappointing that they haven't had one since, what, 2024 against Miami?
Starting point is 00:03:55 Kayla, that was the last prime time game that they had. That is correct. Which they won, by the way. So there's that. But you don't have three straight road games, which is nice, I guess. So no three-game road trips, which is good. No international games, obviously, those are always tough. And, you know, one thing that stuck out to me is you don't have to play any cold weather road games in the back end of the season.
Starting point is 00:04:22 You know, the Bengals game, that road game on November 1st, I mean, it's a day game, noon. game, but that may be the one that might be dicey weather-wise, and then that one you're going into the byweek. But after that, all your road games at least, because we're expecting good weather here in Nashville, all the road games at least are whether it be domes or places that's going to be warmer weather. And so that'll be nice that you don't have to bring the extra jackets if you're the Titans on the back end of this schedule here. So I think it's fair. And I like I mentioned at the top, guys, I think that first game against the Jets, very winnable. What about you? I love it. Real quick, too, I wanted to add one more thing, guys. All but one game is played in
Starting point is 00:05:07 or within an hour of the central time, which is great. Yeah. Yeah, and real quick also, as a player, the first thing I look at is where could I potentially be playing cold weather game? You know, to be to be hot is one thing that really doesn't necessarily affect me from a physical standpoint, just because it doesn't hurt to run into somebody when it's 100 degrees outside or 90 degrees. But when it's 20 degrees outside, that collision is just, ugh, it's gross. So like you mentioned earlier, Julie, and the fact that they don't have games that are either played and what could possibly be inclement weather, you know what I mean, as far as like snow
Starting point is 00:05:44 and cold and stuff like that, that's always an advantage for me. That's where I always thought about it. But I love the matchup with the Jets to start. I mean, you always have to love a good storyline. We always appreciate players in revenge games. Obviously, you know, Robert Sulla and getting his second go-round as being a head coach, his last one just happened to be with the Jets didn't end well. So I do love that.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And I think that, you know, fans are probably excited about that too. Well, a little of this is taken off just because there is one year removed from Robert Sala. I actually haven't been in New York. Aaron Glenn's been the coach there for a couple of few seasons. seasons now, or at least once Robert left to go to San Francisco. But it's funny that they got both of the matchups that have New York ties to this staffing, to this coaching staff that are in the month of September. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:38 That's cool. One home and one way. Yeah, but not just the coaching staff guys. I mean, Tavondre Sweat is going to be lining up across the offensive line with the Jets, and Jarvis Brownlee is going to be in that cornerback room. Can you imagine? They can, they absolutely cannot. not let Devandre do the, you know, rubbing his belly celebration or get Jarvis Brownley
Starting point is 00:06:59 intercepted. They can't let that happen, right? Did you see Jarvis Brownlee's tweet? I mean, he was like, he was putting out some words for the Titans and I was like, okay. Like, I did it. Like they've done you wrong, but like you've got to be able to back that up. Yeah, the Jet 7 had an interception in like two years, I think. So it would be very disappointing if the first one's a tip ball Jarvis Brownlee. Well, first off, I think that when you bring up the Tavondry sweat situation, this is actually the perfect game for him to show Tennessee exactly what they're losing because he's either going to be playing against them, in my opinion, not starters or rookies
Starting point is 00:07:35 in the interior of that offensive line. So, I mean, he's going to have a chance to get himself emotionally hyped up and tee off consistently. I guarantee you that he may be part of the game plan as far as how to neutralize him just because of how emotionally he's going to play. coming back to Nashville, the team that traded him away, and going up against some non-traditional starters, whether they're veterans like Slotman or Bolson or rookies like Coogan or Carmona. Yeah. And on the other side, too, Jermaine Johnson, obviously a jet, was a former jet, and now he's a Tennessee Titan.
Starting point is 00:08:08 So he has a chance to show his former team what he could do, too. So there's storylines on both sides, Kayla. Yeah, no, there absolutely is. I love, like I said, this is the kind of stuff that at least for the first game of the season, just having something like that. Like the NFL knows what it's doing, right? I mean, we've got storylines across the league. But I do always love a good player who got done wrong or thinks they got done wrong at one
Starting point is 00:08:34 place and then they go and play their new place because it does always add just a little bit more juice to the actual matchup. But it's awesome, too, that like you said, the Titans are going to be home. So, right? No, they're away. Home to start? Home to start.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah, they're home. Yeah. So that's good. Yeah, no, no doubt. Actually, you know what? I want to put up the schedule one last time before we go to break here. One last thing, guys. Are you Bhop and Kayla, because you covered more games at Nissan Stadium than I have.
Starting point is 00:09:09 This would be my second full season covering the team. Are you guys disappointed that? The final game at Nissan Stadium, number one, isn't against a divisional opponent. And number two, isn't in the final week of the season. Does it take away any of the luster at all? Because right now, the final game at Nissan Stadium, at the old Nissan Stadium, which soon to be the old Nissan Stadium, is going to be week 17 against the Steelers. Yeah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:09:35 That is interesting. And I didn't think about that because, Brad, I mean, I know you probably know this. like I've been used to for the past how many years ending the season, it seems like usually with the division rival. And it does make for some spiciness as well. Like I remember that one time the Titans kept the Jags like out of the playoff picture, which was awesome. They didn't have a great season,
Starting point is 00:10:01 but they ended Jacksonville's playoff hopes that season. So it always is fun to start and obviously end the season with some storylines and some fun stuff. But yeah, interesting in terms of the pick there with the Steelers, you're right. And I didn't think about that with the old stadium going to be knocked down there after that. And then they're ending the season, again, they're ending the season with the division rival, but that's on the road. Yeah. And that's a caveat, right?
Starting point is 00:10:29 The caveat is they are going to end the season playing against somebody that they've already played once before. But if it's your last go-around in Nissan Stadium, you know what? I would rather have the Steelers because the Steelers are, first off, it's a draw. I mean, we always play tough against the Steelers because you know that. I remember traditionally we would have what was called Steelers Week, knowing that you had to come out with your chin straps on, your big boy pads, because it was going to be a physical game for 60 minutes. So if that's the contest that you know you're going to get,
Starting point is 00:10:59 why not go all with a bang with a more physical caliber game playing against a traditional team like the Steelers that, you know, at this point, who knows what they'll be playing for? Will Aaron Rogers be in the building? You know what I mean? Will this be possibly his last game? Mike McCarthy is coached for some unbelievable franchises from Green Bay, the Dallas, and now Pittsburgh. Those are three traditional teams that are, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:21 foundational teams when it comes to the National Football League. Yeah. And, you know, the interesting thing in that Bhop is that we talk all the time about how when there are, you know, historic NFL franchises, ones with big fan bases, they come to Nashville, and it's a home game for those teams. Maybe because it's the final home game. game of the season and the final one at Nissan Stadium, Titans fans will drown that out a little bit
Starting point is 00:11:44 from Steelers fans wanting to come too because who knows what the Steelers will be playing for by the end of the year. Their season may all be cooked and Titans, Titans could win that crowd battle, which is sometimes tough when you're facing those teams like the Steelers, the Eagles, the Cowboys and things like that. Yeah, but the Steelers could be coming to Nashville for some weather reprieve. They're like, shoot, it's going up here. It's gross in Pennsylvania. Let's get out in Nashville but where it's at least, I mean, you can't ever tell down with them sprinkling the clouds. It might be some snow on the ground here, but either way, it's not normally a bad situation to deal with when it comes to the weather. It is crazy, though, to think, like, for the last couple of years, well, probably more than that when it comes to, like, the Steelers and specifically, is that you don't even know, like, what they're going to be at the end of the year.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Like you mentioned, Brad, like last year they were a playoff team. I mean, not a very good one. But, I mean, Rogers, who knows what's going to happen? Like, who knows what kind of short-string quarterback they're going to be playing? But one thing I will say, in terms of Nissan Stadium as a whole this year, I think it would be beneficial just when it's all said and done to send Nissan Stadium out with a salute and, like, do your best Titans fans to not, like, allow other fan bases to just come in and take over that stadium. And I know, like, that's hard to do sometimes when your team. is not exciting or not winning games.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Hopefully it's better this year. But I just like, I hope that at least fans come out and kind of send, send this kind of Nissan era out without letting these fan bases just completely overtake them this year. Yeah, but that's the curse of being a destination city nowadays, Kayla. I know. I know. The schedule came out and people are like, well, where are we going on the road this year? And they say Nashville and they're like, woo-hoo, we're going to Nashville, woo girls, all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:35 That's cool. Hey, one thing real quick before you go to the break, Julia, if Aaron Rogers isn't starting the quarterback for Steelers, this might be the return of Mason Rudolph. Oh, yes, Mason Rudolph Revenge game, just like we drew it up. Oh, yes. Oh, man. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Well, we'll see how that plays out. Certainly a roller coaster of a ride for the Tennessee Titans season. We're going to talk which matchups stick out in our mind, and we'll talk about Kayla's snub of a primetime game, why she's so upset about that. That's next year on the Titan Squad show. The NBA playoffs are here and every possession matters. If you're looking to get even closer to the action,
Starting point is 00:14:22 Fanduil has a great offer to get you started. Right now, new customers can bet just $5 and get $150 in bonus bets. If your first bet wins, that's right, turn $5 into $150 in bonus bets just for getting started. I like using Fandul during the playoffs just because I need everything, It's right there. You can check the stats, trends, matches before making your picks, which makes the whole experience feel just a lot more informed.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Just remember to head to fanduel.com to get started. Fandull, play your game. All right. So is there a matchup that when you look at the schedule, guys, like, hey, I'm circling that one as one to watch out for, whether it could be a turning point game, a matchup that you really just want to see how the Titans do against a specific team? which one sticks out in your mind, B. Hop, as you're looking at the schedule here.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Well, Kayla mentioned the by being perfectly situated right smack dab in the middle of the season. But I'm going to tell you what, we've got Jacksonville twice in three weeks and sprinkle the cowboys in the middle of that. You know what last year we know what Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars did to us. I think we scored 10 points to their 66 points in two games. So there's going to be some possible get back where they're just going to continue to dominate us. So that first one's at home, week 10, followed by the away game against them in week 12. But we do have Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones hosting the Cowboys, hosting the former Oilers, right, in Dallas in week 11. So that period of time between week 10 and week 12 are going to be very, very interesting to me for the Titan schedule.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Okay. Okay. So I'm looking at the schedule. I'll start with this one just because of the storyline, right? obviously we're looking at October 4th at Baltimore for one reason because you get to, you know, see that former running back that we love so very much in Tennessee that we still love in Derek Henry. And so I think that's always fun just to, you know, get to see him again and play against him again. And it's going to be a tough one, obviously, when that is on the road at that. So that's always fun in terms of storyline.
Starting point is 00:16:37 But in terms of games and what I'm excited to see where it could give them a little momentum is, I think they could get this first one against the Jets. But then, and maybe the Giants, I'll put the Giants in there too, but that's not a given. The Baltimore Ravens and the Texans immediately after that in the folds, I think that that could be a little messy. Where I feel they could maybe gain some confidence again and maybe start building off of that, is that game at home against the Browns? You got maybe two young quarterbacks going up against each other if Shador is actually
Starting point is 00:17:14 the guy that wins it. But right now, you know, there's say Mary Kay Cabot saying that Deshawn Watson might have the upper hand there. But Watson has not been able to stay healthy. I hope Shador Sanders is able to be the starting quarterback or at least at that point because I would love to see both Kim and him go against each other. But I think that's a winnable game that they could maybe catch some momentum with, too. Yeah, the one stretch, or at least that is the stretch that I'm looking at before the buy to see how they come out of the gate.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Because I think the Jets is a very, it's very fair to think that that could be a win for the Titans because the Jets are obviously in a similar kind of rebuilding mode. But the Titans have, I think, the more sure quarterback right now. I mean, I don't know what Gino Smith is going to get us. I know Bhop, you talked about Gino Smith in our last show, how maybe he's going to look to prove some people wrong. But I do think with Robert Sala at the helm now, obviously a lot to be excited about with the offense of Brian Dable. I think looking at that Jets win is a very winnable game.
Starting point is 00:18:22 And the Titans are, as of now, favored by a point in half. How many games this year are they actually going to be favored in by the odds makers, at least going into that? So starting off on the right foot, I think, is very good if you're looking at the new era of the Titans. Another game that I'm looking at is December 27th against the Raiders. And you may think, oh, these might be two teams with losing records at that point, but it is a battle of potential, you know, number one picks,
Starting point is 00:18:45 assuming Fernando Mendoza is the starter at that point. You get to see them in the back end of the season where conceivably both Cam, who's coming into year two and Fernando going into year one, are going to be playing theoretically some of their better football by that time. And so, you know, this new class of draft picks for this year and last year, maybe the last even three years are kind of clumped together when you think of young players and stars in this league. And so if Cam and Fernando are going to be two quarterbacks that are going to be the
Starting point is 00:19:15 marquee names of this league for years to come, that might be an interesting game to watch because that's also a winnable game, at least Titans in my eyes. Now I wanted to talk about the prime time snubs. Kayla, you kind of mentioned it at the top of the show. do you think the Titans should have deserved a primetime game this year and why? You know, I think it goes on beyond, I should say, when the NFL selects these primetime games, I think part of it is like,
Starting point is 00:19:46 do you deserve those in terms of how many wins have you had coming off the last season? But I also think a lot of it goes into the brand. and there are some teams that aren't the greatest teams that are getting primetime games every year. And I feel like there is still people that are interested in, you know, like the storyline part of things. And you just mentioned the Raiders game, right? And two really young quarterbacks and potential at that time of year. Now, there is a chance that a game could be flexed at the end. end of the year. So maybe they get one of those games that are flexed. And so maybe they get one in
Starting point is 00:20:31 terms of that. I don't necessarily think they deserve that, but it's like it's, it's getting pretty difficult when you know there are also Thursday games now. There are Wednesday game. Like there are so many games that aren't just on a Sunday that, you know, there are slots open. And I just continue to feel like, I mean, come on, guys. Since 2020. and that was one game that year, I believe. So they really have had one primetime game in three years? That's a little crazy. In this day and age,
Starting point is 00:21:07 when you're playing every single day of the week, except for Tuesday? Yeah. I think there are three points to be made. One, this is still a relatively small market. Yeah. From the national perspective, they're not really honking on national.
Starting point is 00:21:22 You know, it's a great place, and we got hot chicken and all that stuff. It don't matter to the national. media. They don't care about that. This is a team that picking the top five last year. Period. So regardless of how excited we are here in Tennessee about the changes going on, do coaching, we love all that stuff. They're still looking at last year's results. And the last thing is we didn't finish the season, like say the Saints did.
Starting point is 00:21:44 The Saints were kind of a dismal team, right? What they did was they put together enough wins towards the end of the season to make Taylor Shuck look like the guy and then they're going to surround them with some pieces. You know what I mean? That's not how. Tennessee in it. We end up getting our head thumped. And that was the last memory that we have of the 2025 season. So those things are working against us in this situation. While I think that we might surprise some people, you never know who's going to get more catch momentum, you know, during the year and be the 2026 versions of the Patriots because that was a four-win team in 2024. And next thing, you know, they didn't win the division going to the Super Bowl. I'm not calling for that for the
Starting point is 00:22:20 Titans, but this could be a team with the schedule, you know, not being as daunting as it was last year that might be able to surprise some people and steal a couple of games. And to be fair, Brad, like, I will say this, going down the stretch, though, I do feel like the Titans played improved football. I do feel like Cam Ward was an improved quarterback. Unfortunately, like you said, he ended up getting hurt for the first time in the season in that last game, which then, I think, significantly, you know, added to the reason why they got so badly beaten. So it's kind of like a crappy situation because
Starting point is 00:22:57 I do feel like they were trying to and they did gain some momentum towards the end of the season with the season. One thing that at least sticks out to me when it comes to the primetime game is I just thought that maybe it could be flex like you mentioned Kayla that they were going to try to get one primetime game
Starting point is 00:23:14 with the old Nissan Stadium. You know? As kind of a little bit of a storyline, maybe you throw in an AFC South game like a you know, I thought maybe we were destined for Jags and Titans on a Thursday night or something like that. So that was the only disappointing. But to your point, Bhop, is, you know, especially with a brand, the Titans are trying to rebuild their brand and a team that's rebuilding.
Starting point is 00:23:39 The NFL is going to ask, what have you done for me lately? You know, and quite frankly, six wins in the last two years isn't doing a lot for you lately. No. Those days of Thursday night football where everybody got a turn, that's over. They don't want to be bad football. You're right. That's, I think, what's changed, Brad, to be, like, your point is exactly right. I think I'm so used to still, like, those old Thursday night games that were almost
Starting point is 00:24:07 thought of as a little bit of a joke, but yet it's still considered a primetime game. Now, like, in terms of, what is it, Amazon, they're not looking for, like, they're looking for good matchups now on Thursday. Like, that's not a joke anymore in terms of if you're on Thursday. Thursday night football. Like that's usually two teams they're trying to match up that are going to grab an audience. And to that point, when you're playing primetime games, those are usually delegated to really good teams, right?
Starting point is 00:24:37 So in other words, we will be matched up in a primetime matchup against a really good team. Are we going to be competitive against really good teams? You know, when you start looking at the schedule and you look at games that we should and shouldn't win, six and a half is about what it tracks to be because they're saying that the teams that are better, we're not going to be. We might slip up on, you know, sneak up on some people. But at the end of the day, when you're talking about a primetime matchup, they don't want to watch a head thumping.
Starting point is 00:25:01 That's boring. They'll check out in third quarter and go watch Survivor. That's all true there. On the other side of the break, we're going to talk about that over under six and a half, where we sit on that, whether it's under or over on the Titans win total projections for 2026. That's next on the Titans Squad Show. Don't go anywhere.

Starting point is 00:26:31 Now, just for context and for what it's worth, Titans have not gone over their projected win total in the odds in the last four seasons, each of the last four years. So they've gone under each of the last four years. Do you think it makes it five this year? Or do you think they surpass that six and a half win mark? And I could even pull up the schedule for you guys to look and see. I have them. Look, you guys know me. I try to keep it optimistic.
Starting point is 00:26:58 I'm not going to be unrealistic. but I did go through the schedule, you know, and kind of map out win, loss, win, loss. And I did arrive at seven wins. So I am, I guess, technically going to go be over since it's at six and a half. Oh, like the positivity there. And my level is involved with seven, so, you know. Well, I actually kind of believe the odds makers might have something there because, I mean, the realistic path to seven or eight wins,
Starting point is 00:27:31 runs through stealing one of the Washington Indy at home games or, you know, taking care of the Browns, taking care of the Steelers potentially, or Vegas, like you mentioned, those are a trio of beatable opponents. But the path of four to five wins runs through who? Cam Ward, you know, does this offense stall out? Are we super competitive? And the defense not coming together under Robert Salah. That's one way to win the four wins.
Starting point is 00:27:56 I don't see either one of those happening because I think this is the best coaching that Cam Ward's going to have to this point. as a pro under Brian Dayball. And I think that Robert Salas defense is going to be more efficient with the help of Gus Bradley and the new talent that we got in the building. It does seem like this is going to be a better situation than the three wins that we had last year. So I'm expecting it kind of be more of the six to seven win range. Like I said, seven means that we stole a couple, but six one wins seems very doable for
Starting point is 00:28:22 this team. Why? Can I add real quick, Julian. The reason why I went with seven, because I was really close to six, the reason why why I went with seven, because I truly believe if everything is going the way it is supposed to. And honestly, in the disaster year, it was last year. My point I made was there was progress towards the end of the season. And I truly feel like if there is progress that happens and that should happen towards the end of the season, there were a few games in there, Colts that they play
Starting point is 00:28:52 for the second time, Raiders, obviously. And I even think Steelers that they could get those games. So that's where I reached one of those at the seven mark. Yeah, I'm with you guys probably around the six. I would lean more towards six only, and that's only because you would think that to get to the seven mark, you'd have to steal or I wouldn't, I shouldn't say steal because it's within the division, but win a divisional game or two. Yeah. And they have one win in the division in the last two years. Now, that's with the old regime. That's with, you know, the quarterback situation in flux.
Starting point is 00:29:26 And that isn't with the roster now. So I do think that there is a game in there within the division, which within those six games that they could possibly win. More likely than not, I could see it being one of the Texans games because it's obviously the rivalry there. Or maybe indie, depending on what their situation quarterback is going to be like. That's also assuming, guys, that you win your quote-unquote clunkers too, like the games that are against closely competitive teams and you're supposed to win. You can't be losing to the Jets, Giants, Browns, commanders, if you, Raiders, if you want to get to that total, right?
Starting point is 00:30:05 No, that's a good point. Both the parts of the Jets are thinking the same way. You can't lose to the Titans. No doubt. And I'm sure the Browns are even thinking that same. Right? Exactly. It's so funny because, you know, when the schedule came out and it was leaked that the Jets would be the opening game,
Starting point is 00:30:22 Every Titans fan It felt like was like, oh, that's a winnable game. But I'm sure the Jets fans thought, yeah, hey, that's a winnable game and game running out of Titans too. For sure. Oh, man. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Right. This isn't, you know, we aren't through the season yet where we've won a handful of games that maybe we shouldn't have. And people are like raising the eyebrow about us. When they're looking at the schedule of seeing the matchup for Tennessee, they're marking this off as a win as well.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, man. They'll circle it on there, right. Yep. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah. Well, you know, I think the optimism is there.
Starting point is 00:30:59 I think doubling the win total from last season is certainly in the cards as a successful year for the Tennessee Titans in a step in the right direction. You know, I would love it, guys, if by the end of the year, you know, those graphics, the playoff graphics where it says in the hunt. Yes. The teams that are in the hunt on the outside. The Titans are right there. You know, Titans are right.
Starting point is 00:31:21 they're hovering around that 500 mark. I think that would be certainly a step in the right direction. You know what eight wins means, right? Eight wins means that when we open the stadium next year, we're going to the Super Bowl. That's what we did in 98. In 98, 97 and 96, we were 8 and 8 for three straight years. They opened up that brand spanking new stadium with called Adelphia Coliseum. We ran through the schedule and ended up playing in Atlanta in the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:31:49 So it'd be perfect for them to win eight games this year, seven games at least, and then give us some excitement, which then draws the people out. Not only a team that finished with twice as many wins as they had in 2025, but also the new digs. Come on, man, it's perfect. I didn't know that. That would be a pretty historic situation than if that happened. Yeah, no, 100%. We will obviously revisit the schedule, especially as it gets closer and closer. the 53-man roster is finalized and that depth chart what that's looking like for the Tennessee
Starting point is 00:32:23 Titans. So it should be exciting. But there is a lot of optimism, especially with game one against Robert Salo's old team, the New York Jets. Okay, we're going to answer some questions because a fan had some questions for Bhop, actually, on the other side of the break. That's next year on the Titan Squad Show. All right. The playoffs are here, and it's the most electric time in basketball.
Starting point is 00:32:47 On Cal She, you could trade every single playoff game, every series, the conference finals, and the championship. Starting point is 00:33:33 No, that's Bradshaw. Oh, that's Bradshaw. Red card right here. Oh, man. What the heck is that? Did he not agree with your take on seven Titans wins? That's interesting. It's either that or someone walking by the front door.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Yeah. There you go. There's Kayla's ghost, too, there. Troy 1998 has a question for you, Bihop. He said, Bop, during the playing days, who were the hated rivals for you? Steelers, Bills?
Starting point is 00:34:05 We didn't think about Bills much at all. We just knew that, you know, they were, well, how about this? The guys that were old oilers were mad the fact that we lost in that playoff game in 1992, I believe it was, when we had a convincing lead and ended up getting bounced out of the playoffs. But we got payback with the Music City Miracle
Starting point is 00:34:23 so it don't matter to wash. Steelers, we were the old AFC central opponents, you know, the Steelers and us, with Steelers, bingles, and Browns, and every single week, that's why I mentioned the Steelers contest being the last home game, how pivotal that could possibly be, because we got
Starting point is 00:34:39 to get our minds right to play them. That was the mindset every single time we played those cats. Back in the day, you know, I say Oilers, that was the Steelers matchup. But when I played, really, it was either the Jags, because the Jags had Tony Brunel, you know, those kind of guys, you know, Mark Brunell, rather, Tony Baccelli, and, you know, Tony Brackens, you know, these monsters that were playing really, really well.
Starting point is 00:35:04 As a matter of fact, the year that we went to the Super Bowl, they were 14 and 2. They won the division, and that was the matchup, the Jacksonville. And then it shifted to them dang Colts when they drafted the balls, the ball's quarterback Peyton Manning. You know, then it's like kind of a 50-50 situation. and people were still wanting to hoop group for number 18, even though he was wearing the wrong color uniform when he came here to Nashville. So it kind of shifted a little bit, but I'd either say the Steelers,
Starting point is 00:35:30 because the old oil is matchup between the Steelers twice a year. Then it was Jacksonville because Jacksonville was using the team standing in front of us to get to where we wanted to in the division, and then it kind of shifted towards the Colts later because the Colts then started having some success. We know Peyton Manning, he actually took the Colts to the Super Bowl at our behest. And so that's how rivalries are created. There'll always be some funkiness between us and the Texans because we were the old Texans or the old Houston team, the old Houston franchise.
Starting point is 00:36:00 But neither one of us have like been knocking the door down as far as being the team to beat the AFC. So that matchup really hasn't been won. A rivalry is created when the teams are like kind of evenly matched, right? If one team is beating the crap out of the other team, the other team's not thinking about you as a rival. They're just the team that they got to go through to get to their rival. So I think that it did kind of switch a little bit, and I always will, actually. You know, Charlie Micer says this point about the final game at Nissan Stadium being against the Steelers. I love the AFC Central.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I'll take Pittsburgh as the final opponent. Good point here by Charlie. Exactly. That's exactly what we were talking about because it was always rough playing against, I'm trying to think of who the quarterbacks were in Cleveland at the time. Because they always had some really good defenses, but okay, you know, quarterbacks. The Bengals, they were always a team we loved playing because we used to like slapping around the Bengals, you know, but then the Steelers man, to win the division,
Starting point is 00:36:58 it was always going through Pittsburgh. In my first year in 1993, we actually swept the AFC Central, beat all three teams twice. And then we got bounced out of the divisional round against Joe Montana's chiefs. I know it sounds crazy, but Joe Montana, and then he ended up beating us in that second. and round if we had a first week by. So yeah, that was a great situation back then, boy. Top tier 8782 says the Titans disrespect is real. Let's just go out and win games and let it work itself out. And so if you are upset, Kayla, as some of these fans are about no primetime games, you win games this year. Then when you open up the new stadium, you have an up-and-coming team. That's when
Starting point is 00:37:41 that happens. No, it is. And you have to, like you said, you have to take matters into your own hands. Like I get mad about this stuff. I don't like disrespect. Like, look, I want the Titans to succeed. I want the fans to be happy. I love Titans fans. But they do have to prove they can do it. And I think the first thing that they did was go hire the right people in the offseason
Starting point is 00:38:03 and give control to Mike Borganzi to actually have the full, you know, set of keys to the car. So now it's like, okay, what can you do with that? Cam Ward, I think, can be a very exciting quarterback. He's been given pieces now. You can't say that he doesn't have anything around him. Like the line needs to come together. The line, I hope they can get that together and that can grow because that's a big part of having success on the offense. But all the pieces are there to start to see what this team could be.
Starting point is 00:38:32 And if they can prove that and play some exciting football, like I said, especially down the stretch, I think definitely with the new stadium next year, they'll get those primetime games. Well, it's not only the new stadium, which definitely will give us some primetime games. because the NFL is going to want to roll out the bell of the ball because we will have the baddest stadium in the NFL for now because there's obviously new stadiums being built in places so we'll hold that distinction for a minute but also fellas we're going to be heading into the third season for the number one pick of the draft right so it's either it's either ish or get off the pot there's going to be a lot of attention paid to whether or not cam ward has developed whether or not he's boom or bust now if he has an okay season this year kind of lend lind lind into some momentum for 2027. There are going to be a lot of eyeballs wondering exactly what Cam Ward's going to show up in his third year. You see what I'm saying? And are they going to exercise the fifth year option?
Starting point is 00:39:27 That's what's going to be asked about Cam Ward, you know, heading into the new opening of the stadium. There's going to be a lot of storylines that the national media are going to be tied to. This will be the second year for Robert Solis as a head coach. You see what I'm saying? And you know this. And I've actually told Brian Dayball to his face, the more success that you have here in Tennessee, the less likely we're going to have you as an offensive coordinator because somebody's going to try and hire. Are you a way to be their head guy yet again?
Starting point is 00:39:50 That's the reason why Robert Salah had a backup plan in his interview process or Brian Daebel eventually getting a new job. Last question before we go, and it's one from actually for me, guys, what would constitute as an unsuccessful season win-wise for you? Because we were talking about six wins, seven wins being like, hey, that's where they can get to. Is there a total that you're like, outside of like the obvious, right? Zero or one or two?
Starting point is 00:40:14 But is there a total where you're like, man. That didn't go as well as I thought it would, and we're in trouble here. Well, first of all, you can't go. Go ahead, back. No, no, go ahead. First of all, you can't go less. That's the obvious. Second of all, I don't even think, I don't really even think four or five wins sounds good to honestly tell you it to.
Starting point is 00:40:36 I think it's hard to put numbers and judge on numbers. I more so would judge on, like, how close some of these games are and how, you know, know, they improve, like I said throughout the season. But you cannot go, you can't match your total and you can't go less. And I really think you need to go a couple over your total just to be somewhat and then play some close games in those losses. I think that's important. Some of those losses, you might have some losses, but how did you play those teams is what I'm looking forward to in some of those losses? Yeah. That's a great point, Kayla. It's how competitive you are first off. And to me, it's not about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:41:17 It's about where you pick in the draft. We pick first in 2024, 25, whatever. We picked fourth this past year. If we're picking in the top five, come on, man, this team isn't getting much better. I think that this team is picking 17, 18, dare we say
Starting point is 00:41:33 in the 20s, now we're looking at an exciting season. But what would be a bad season is if we're picking in the top eight because that shows that we really haven't made that much. Now I know we're going from one to four, we're getting better. You know, so what does that mean? One to seven.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I mean, you know, for 2026. I mean, that's not, you know, I don't think that's a successful campaign either. So I think we got to be picking outside of the top 10 to consider ourselves a good season. Anything under the top 10, it's not a good season. Yeah, if Mike Borgonzi's picking in the top five, three years in a row, GMs don't usually get that kind of leeway either. So there's going to be, yeah, some changes for maybe if that happens, for sure. Okay. Thank you for joining us here in the Titan Squad show.
