Hey folks, Aaron here.
Welcome back to another edition of Deeper Lore, a bonus episode designed to serve as
a topical guide to the most recent episode of lore.
Why?
Well, over the years I've learned that a lot of folks have special favorites they'd
like to revisit.
Others though enjoy listening to episodes about certain topics.
It's common to hear a brand new episode and have it spark an interest in finding other
stories that might be related.
But with over 300 episodes to sort through, it can be hard to track down specific ones.
Running a podcast for a decade has a way of building a pretty massive catalog of options.
So this bonus episode here is designed to offer a guide for folks who want to go a bit
deeper into the lore.
Thus, deeper lore. Thus, deeper lore.
Creative, I know.
This week for episode 269, There Goes My Hero,
we slip back in time and revisit
some of the most powerful military stories
from American history.
But it's not the first time we've covered
the ghosts of battle on the show.
So here are three more older episodes
that should resonate well with this week's new one.
First up, episode 115, Perspective.
In this old classic, we visit the New England settlement of Gloucester, Massachusetts,
where one military outpost faced off against an otherworldly foe.
This one is a conundrum, being both difficult to believe and also well-documented, so check it out.
Next, download episode 135, A Good Death.
For this episode, we head to a place that feels synonymous with battle in America, Gettysburg.
Not only do we cover some of the physical horrors of war, but some of the supernatural
ones as well.
A lot of folks have had the chance to visit Gettysburg, and if you're one of them, this
is a great way to enhance those memories.
And finally, I recommend you go listen to episode 161, Shell Game.
War in general has a way of creating some powerful experiences, which often lead to
some odd superstitions.
So this episode veers a bit outside of pure American history and gives you a tour of these
wild and unusual wartime traditions.
So there you go.
Follow up this week's brand new episode with a trip into the past.
Episodes 115, 135, and 161 are waiting for you in this podcast feed.

And until next time, stay spooky.
