Starting point is 00:00:01 Love it or leave it It's love it or leave it Let's up Los Angeles To leave it live from Hollywood I'm John Lovett And let's get into it What a week On Friday
Starting point is 00:00:25 President Trump announced in a truth social post That reporters from CNN, Politico and MS now would be barred from the White House Responded CNN and Politico I hope Trump gets MS now wrote Trump. Media outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report fiction and lies when they're covering the president of the United States. Other fake news media outlets to follow.
Starting point is 00:00:54 First, they came for CNN, Politico, and MS now. And everybody spoke up because Trump actually said from the start he was going to come after others next. That dumb bitch. Journalists from the three band outlets. were denied access to the White House grounds on Saturday morning. You too, said Don Jr., pacing outside the gates. And then the reporters all went to brunch together and strolled through a farmer's market and picked up a few of the last summer tomatoes, went home and had sex with their spouses
Starting point is 00:01:22 in the middle of the afternoon. It was the best Saturday of their adult lives. But that's not the point. The three outlets are suing over the ban, calling it a blatant violation of the First Amendment, and the other major television network said they would, in solidarity, suspend White House. White House pool coverage. In the end, it's probably for the best that Trump stays away from pools anyhow, given how frequently he has diarrhea. The boycott led to surreal moments like this one on Newsmax when Trump held an event at the White House, but there was no audio. Okay, so there is no microphone because the pool cameras aren't there. So maybe, Tim, this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Trump babbling inaudibly under a roaring mechanical hum while right-wing commentators look on an embarrassment. Is banning CNN the best thing he's ever done? Wouldn't you download some sort of an app on your browser that turns all of Trump talking and just to the sounds of bees? J.D. Vance later went on Newsmax to insist that everyone was just being hysterical. I've heard a lot of people say that we've banned Politico. Politico will still write their crazy articles. They will still misrepresent what we say and do. what's different is that they don't have an office in the White House anymore.
Starting point is 00:02:43 It's not a ban. It's the refusal to grant special access to people who are engaged in dishonest reporting. Yeah, man, you should probably talk to all these idiots who are saying it's a ban. Oh, the ban on the free press, right? A very simple ban. I don't want them in my office. I don't want them here. I would say the ban would go as far as you can.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Here's Secretary of State Marco Rubio also trying to downplay. the decision. We're not closing CNN. There aren't a bunch of police officers or soldiers kicking down the doors of MSNBC or MSNN, whatever it's called, and arresting people and I'm plugging it from the grid. Continued Rubio, and sure, that was option A on the poster Natalie Harp printed for the boss, but he chose option B. And sure, option C was romantic dinner for two with Natalie Harp, but that's always option C. Continued Rubio, for real. They're just not allowed to work from the workspace at the White House. So there's nothing to worry about.
Starting point is 00:03:41 They're not arresting anybody. They're just refusing journalists access to public property based on their viewpoints in order to tilt coverage toward the president while hoping reporters think twice before being critical of Trump for fear of losing their ability to report from inside the White House grounds. So quit being a baby about it. It's not full authoritarian censorship. It's only the most that someone with an authoritarian mindset feels he can get away with right now. And sure, that's more than what he could do a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:04:03 But look on the bright side, what he's trying to do today will seem quaint compared to what he tries a few years from now. To get their message out amid the boycott by TV networks, the Trump administration began promoting their own White House app. Does it have messaging? Does it let you talk to the president? Said Don Jr. Frantically downloading the app. And then, later on Monday, the White House announced
Starting point is 00:04:24 that they were relaunching their YouTube channel as Trump TV. And this just in, the president's YouTube channel is covered in algae. Then, without the press pool, Trump headed to New York for the United Nations 81st General Assembly. While in the Big Apple, Trump, Trump stopped by Gracie Mansion to visit the city's beloved mayor, Zoran Mamdani. Here, you hold this glove, Zoran,
Starting point is 00:04:47 and then right when my dad throws the ball, I'll run in, grab the glove, and catch it, said Don Jr. So we have Trump and Mamdani, a boomer who loves Netanyahu and a millennial who protested Israel at his liberal arts college, pretending to get along while everyone is watching. A classic Yom Kippur sighting, if I've ever seen one.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Mamdani was asked about Trump's press ban. I told the president, that we're going to have all of the members of the press here on the lawn, and that is something that I believe in is everyone, no matter of the opinion or the critique, that we engage. I don't know, Mr. President. It's interesting because they said they were going to boycott me, but they never boycott me.
Starting point is 00:05:26 So I wasn't very worried about that. Look at all that press. On the talk of the town, said King Kong, as he ripped the top of the Empire State building off. On Tuesday morning, Trump delivered his address to the UN General Assembly, On his way to the venue, he snapped at the reporters gathering outside, including CNN's Caitlin Collins. You should not be here covering me. You said you weren't going to cover me. You shouldn't be covering me. Said the reflecting pool to the algae.
Starting point is 00:05:54 During his remarks, before the UN, Trump considered his options in Iran. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world. Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations? Where am I? asked Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander Ahmad Vahidi. Oh, this is hell, says Lindsay Graham, as Ravens peck at his eyes. It's not so bad, adds Dolly Parton, who could have done more, it turns out. Really sorry.
Starting point is 00:06:43 But I believe we'll make a deal right after the election. If it were me, I'd end the war before the election to try to win the election. It's almost as if he's making it up. But Trump also made this announcement about the term artificial intelligence. From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the world will be changed to use the much more accurate term, super as opposed to artificial. So it's super-intention.
Starting point is 00:07:13 In other words, welcome to the new world of superintelligence dash SI. S-I. Let's see if that goes. It sounds much better. It is much better. And it's much more accurate. Let's see if I have any power. Maybe I do and maybe I don't.
Starting point is 00:07:30 We're going to find out pretty soon. What are we supposed to do? It's also like, who does this help? What does that fix? I'm calling it now, superintelligence is the Republicans Latin X. Meanwhile, flights were grounded at multiple East Coast airports on Monday, including LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark after a radio communication system in Philadelphia and its backup both failed. Sad. Tower operator just stepped out to get a hoagie and now he's in hot water. Honestly, that was the best version of it.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Let's check in with Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, who I assume is hard at work. Well, maybe we all have a little dance in our human heart. And cross. One, two, three, four. Hold here, stop. Sad to think of all the people who are going to die in plane crashes without ever seeing Duffy's new reality show. There's never been a time in the history of this show
Starting point is 00:08:38 where I joke about people dying in plane crashes, and it works. No matter that, sometimes, whatever I feel it deserves, no one's up for it. No one likes it. No one likes thinking about it. And I'm not going to learn. The plane crash jokes will continue until morale improves. Speaking of flaming out during a campaign event in North Carolina on Monday,
Starting point is 00:09:03 Vice President J.D. Vance reminded us why he's known as the most charismatic man in politics. And because we need somebody who will fight back against the fart left, we need Michael Watley in the United States Senate. Now, you may not have even heard that, but I actually, I usually don't misspeak. But I just called them the fart left, not the fart left. I promise that was an accident. From now on, when there's stuff like that that makes me feel bad, I'm going to come back here. And now that you've seen this clip, you have seven days to play it for someone else, or you die.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Anywho, in other news that'll make you recoil, far-right Colorado congresswoman Lauren Bobert has been accused of having affairs with three of her staffers, two of whom are women. But other than that, Ms. Bobert, how was the Beatlejuice musical? Now, according to a complaint filed with the House Ethics Committee, rendezvous took place in the office of one of the staffers, in a campaign vehicle, and in hotel rooms at the campaign's expense. Bobert is alleged to have paid one of the three, her district director, $200,000 to stop her from filing an ethics complaint. And it seems we know about that alleged payment
Starting point is 00:10:18 because it was included in an ethics complaint, which I assume is what happens when you allegedly have sex with three staffers and only pay off one of them. Now, a spokesperson for Bobert has called the allegations baseless, utterly false, and nothing more than a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear her, and generate clickbait, though it was hard to understand the spokesperson with Bobert's boob in her mouth. Continue the spokesperson, these smears must stop as she tried to dab at the spot with a paper towel. To be clear, to be clear. The district director has herself denied the allegations calling them entirely false and defamatory, though it was hard to hear her with Bobert's other boob in her mouth.
Starting point is 00:11:11 It was a gross press conference. Just as a reminder, this was Lauren Bobert back in April. Yeah, go to church. Find Jesus. Like, I mean, why is everybody so horny here? So that's what they meant by the second coming. Don't even know what that meant. And finally, Paramount has reached a deal to settle the antitrust lawsuit filed by California and other states over its $11 billion acquisition of Warner Brothers Discovery, clearing the last
Starting point is 00:11:41 obstacle to the mega merger. We did it. Father and son, said Larry and David Ellison, hugging as Don Jr. accidentally crushed a glass in his hand. Through a consent degree, Paramount agreed to release at least 30 films a year in theaters and to increase film and television production in the U.S. by a minimum of $1.5 billion, dollars, more of states like California ramp up production tax credits. We are so back, said Tom Cruise, getting ready to film the Mission Impossible movie
Starting point is 00:12:08 where we get to see him actually die. Fine. While many continue to worry about one pro-Trump family controlling two of the biggest streaming networks and two of the biggest news networks, I for one can't wait for HBO's new fall lineup, shows like the white nationalist lotus, fart left, a JD-van stand-up special, hacks, but with men, sex in the city, but with men, girls, but with boys, curb your immigration, Harry Potter and the return of white Snape, the pit, oops all measles, and real time with Bill Marr. All right, we've got a great show for you tonight, and we'll be right back.

So I wanted to give the tech community a chance to discuss all the incredible things artificial intelligence can do. To help us do that, please welcome to the love it or leave its stage, Angela Mortimer, spokesperson for Quandry AI. Hi. Hello. Hi, thank you so much for being here. Of course. I really appreciate it. Now, Angela, how's your week been going?
Starting point is 00:16:41 Oh, God, how's my week been going? Wow, what the hell? What the fuck? What was the question? Oh, just, I was curious about your week because, you know, Trump put out a poll on True Social asking about renaming artificial intelligence and declared at the UN that we're going to call it super intelligence. Do you think that might be the right name for it? Who cares? Honestly, we had an all-hands meeting today. I just came from it. And you would think, why would all the leads of all the different AI platforms be getting together in one room?
Starting point is 00:17:11 Is it an emergency? Maybe. So look, there's been a lot of... There's been a lot of... Hullabaloo about AI. Hullabaloo, that's a good word for it. Well... Ah!
Starting point is 00:17:31 Now, so I understand that quandary AI has doing some interesting things to help people with sort of financial assistance. It's very smart to help them kind of do some of their tasks like a financial advisor. So I would upload my personal data. Sure, yes. You can do anything with AI. You can help you with your finances. That's a very cute idea. I love that.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Okay. I'm like a little, I mean, you're from quandary AI. I thought you were excited to talk about what this product is. Of course, it's very convenient. You can do anything. You can ask it about your finances. You could say, hey, what should I do with all my money? Does money have any meaning now?
Starting point is 00:18:10 You know, what does money mean? You know? Can we take it with us? Because that's where we're going. So, and again, like I, I'm just sort of trying to understand you work for quandary AI, right? Yes. Oh, my God. There seems like there's something bothering you.
Starting point is 00:18:31 No, absolutely not. You know what? I signed an NDA from the big meeting, okay? So I can't say it's an emergency, but I will say it's something so bad. And I will say also, you know, but still use AI. Who cares? Ask it your questions. You know what actually could be funny? If we all go home and we ask it, what can I drink if I don't have water? Stuff like that. Or, you know, or what kind of convoes can I be having with this? people that I love to wrap things up spiritually. Well, look, it's, I know you're not allowed to talk about it, but it sounds like this was a
Starting point is 00:19:12 pretty alarming meeting you just had. And I, as, and again, I thought we were going to talk about how to use AI therapy to improve relationships. I've been such a good girl my whole life. I went to school. I married a financially stable man. You know, I have never been with a woman. I've never been with a woman. If there's anyone here that would let me try that soon, that could be good. You know, I never even did drugs. Have you done drugs? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:40 I heard heroin makes you feel like you're flying. Well, you don't want to do heroin because... Should we try that? I mean, it's so dangerous, like, because you can get really addicted to it and it can ruin... Could have... Could ruin the future. Imagine that. Hey.
Starting point is 00:19:54 In the arms of the angels... Far away from me. Is this your camera here? Yeah. If my daughters are watching this, Sophia, Olivia, I love you. Hey, do you ever ask A.I what it can do with certain baking ingredients? Like, you give it your baking ingredients. It's so good for recipes.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Because you can, like, say, like, oh, I have almond flour and two eggs and, like, half a stick of butter. What can I make? So that's, like, a cool thing you can do with it. Yeah, that's exactly right. You can do that. That's really fun. Thank you for saying that. You can say, this is what I have in my pantry.
Starting point is 00:20:32 What should I do? What should I do? What should I do? So, again, like, they're getting increased. There's a feeling I'm getting that you've seen something. or heard something. Hey, hey, hey, you work so hard.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Do you have people you want to be spending time with? Well, of course. I mean, but I have, you know, I have, I have obligations. Let's get out of here. Trust me. Okay?
Starting point is 00:20:52 Okay. Do you like crops? Yeah, I like them. Yeah, I like crops. Well, I'm going to tell you something after. Okay. About crops, and it's not good. But for those of you who like crops,
Starting point is 00:21:05 I'm not saying say goodbye to crops, but. Well, I just, here's the thing. I thought that the big, I thought, look. I'm a little bit drunk, John. I'm getting that. But look, I understand that there's risks with AI, but I thought they were working to make sure that AI would be aligned,
Starting point is 00:21:20 it would have our interest at heart. Is that not right? Yes, yes, of course. It is like a big snake in a zoo, and it's behind a cage, and we're all very, very safe. And there's no crack in the cage, and the snake isn't roaming around going up your skirt and biting you in the vagina.
Starting point is 00:21:35 That's not going to happen. Megan, Olivia. Mommy loves you so, so much. I could have done more, and I should have done more. Is there anything you want people watching this to know that you haven't yet? Is there anything that you're ready to reveal about this? I think I'm gay. I've never explored that.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Isn't that funny? It's like I wanted to make my parents proud. I wanted to make every, you know, it's like, what am I supposed to do now? I mean, I could have some sort of sexual awakening. How much time do we even have left for that? Do you know what I mean? No, I don't know what you mean. I'm very scared.
Starting point is 00:22:17 What is it good? What's happening? Is it loose? Is it doing something to hurt us? No, everything's fine. And it can help with things like recipes. Yes, it can help with recipes. It can help with finances.
Starting point is 00:22:28 And it can help with therapy. If you have any questions for it and you think you've invented a new math equation, it will tell you to go to the White House and share it with them. It's a very yes and kind of tool. Very fun. Very cool. Very cool. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:22:41 And you're gay? I think I might be. Yeah. And I have, you know, 26 days to explore that. Did I say 26 days? I'm sorry. I'm a little drunk. Angela Mortimer for Chondriah.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I thank you so much for being here. Thank you for having me. And we'll be right back. And we're back. Welcome to the show for the first time. It's Lisa Gilroy. Thank you. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:23:11 That woman that just left the stage tried to kiss me. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, she was going through it. Yeah, she really was. She smelled of booze. Oh, yeah, no, she'd been drinking. But everyone on this show kind of does. Yeah, that's sort of our thing here.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yeah. It's always Tuesday somewhere. What? Okay. So one of your breakthrough roles was on the first season of jury duty. How many seasons do you think they can get away with? Oh, infinite. Do you know how, like, everyone's so gullible in the world?
Starting point is 00:23:37 And the casting director will find one man who's never been on the internet. That's what they do. Oh, to be that man. You're also voicing a character. on Golden Axe, which is now out on Paramount Plus, which we love and support. The show is based on a video game and you play a ripped Amazon warrior. Is that something? Yeah, I think that.
Starting point is 00:24:04 That's me. That's you. What was the vibe? It was so fun. And I did her voice, well, I kind of lied in my audition and I was like, yeah, this is a comfortable range for me to be like down here all the time. And then I would lose my voice seven minutes into every recording. But you have to sound strong.
Starting point is 00:24:23 You try sounding strong. I've never heard it from you. Hey, now. Let's all go fight somebody. Pretty good. Yeah. Down here. Yeah, down here.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Yeah, all right. Let's go. Go on. Let's ride our motorcycles to the war and then have sex with the strongest women. Good, good stuff. Oh my God. The girls are going wild. They're throwing their bras on stage.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Support me. Wow. Now, the show is based on an old Sega video game. Yes. If they made a show based on the video game, you played the most as a kid, what would it be? Ooh, I guess it would have to be,
Starting point is 00:25:10 I don't know if this really counts as video game, but like drowning people in the pool in Sims. Yeah, no, that counts as a video game. Causing fires, being negligent. doing the Rosebud cheat code to get a bunch of money. Not my culture. That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:25:25 I was more of an up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right be a select star person. For the boys. Yes, for the boys, for the girls, but virgins us all. Did you ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon? No. Do you think you're going to go to Comic Con
Starting point is 00:25:45 to promote the warrior you're playing? I would love to. I bet you will. You think so? Yeah. I'm not going to wear a bikini, though. So stop asking. Another game I played a lot of was Crash Bandicoot.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Did you replay that? No, I didn't play Crash Bandicoo, but wow, you've a kindred spirit there in the front row is freaking out. Let's talk after the show. Hey, the reign of Lisa Gilroy continues because you're on Brothers on Apple TV Plus. Yes. Where Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson play brothers based on a rumor that they're brothers. That's right. Do you think they're brothers?
Starting point is 00:26:20 In real life? Yeah. I don't know because they haven't gotten the DNA test. They should do that. I know. Why won't they? Do you think we're siblings? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:28 We should check it out. We should check it out. Because I feel like already we're kind of like mad at each other, like we're siblings. I wasn't, but okay. You're not getting that vibe? Like, I'm the older, cooler sister and you're kind of like always coming into my room and I want you dead? I just think that's how people are with me. Hey.
Starting point is 00:26:54 Can I see something quick? Uh-huh. Yeah. They all say hey at the top. So Woody is the rare person that looks worse with hair. Oh, you think so? Yeah. He looks so good bald.
Starting point is 00:27:08 He does look good bald. He's got that jaw. Yeah. I think I would look so much worse bald. Have you ever tried it? No. So how do you know? I think I know.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Let's do it tonight. Look under your seats. One lucky viewer has a razor. Would you allow it? Anything for the clicks, right? Yeah, no. Anything for, yep, that's right. Let's reenact the,
Starting point is 00:27:31 the saddest part of laym is. Hey, Woody Harrelson and Matthew O'Connor. They're both so famous. I bet they're weird. Yeah, they are. Yeah, I bet it makes them weird. Do you think enough people tell them no? Or do you think it's a lot of yeses when you're at that level?
Starting point is 00:27:52 I told them no a lot. I was quite rude to them. Cool. They let me improvise a lot and I was kind of disrespectful and it was a thrill. That's good. But no, they're actually very cool. And, you know, Woody is like a true, like, no phone, no shoes, kind of like hippie fun guy.
Starting point is 00:28:07 That's cool. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like you get away with stuff because you're so funny. Oh. Because I went to a table read, which is a showbiz thing. But you were in a table read for a movie. I don't know if I should say what the movie is, but whatever. And it was the Cameron Diaz-Steven Merchant movie.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Oh, yes. Which you're in. Yes. And it's not out yet. And I don't think anyone, I don't know what we're allowed to say about it. But it was very, it exists. I think it's been announced. Whatever, we'll cut this if not.
Starting point is 00:28:35 But you stole that whole fucking table read. No. Yes. You won't take the compliment, but you did. I mean, there's a lot of really funny people who were really funny. But you played multiple people just because. Well, because they asked me to. That's my thing.
Starting point is 00:28:48 They bring me in for a table read and I'll say like one sentence from every character. But I'm always playing things that I can't play in real life. They're like, here, you can be the old haunted 90-year-old janitor of the cemetery. And I love to do it in the table read, but it never comes to a job for me. But they should dress you up as that janitor. Thank you. I agree. What do you get typecast as? Not someone that should be on television. Someone who's just on the edge of someone we think could be on television, but no.
Starting point is 00:29:18 That's sort of been my experience. Okay, you get like one toe in and then the television boots you from the island, so I speak. I like to say that I go... I like to say that I'm often at... Don't... No, no, no. This is my show now. Come on. Who wants to shave this guy's head?
Starting point is 00:29:39 I was going to say that I often find myself in conversations where it looks like I'm in the business, but actually I'm not. Everyone else at the table is in the business. I'm on the edge of the business. Right. I can tell you're kind of on the edge of your seat as well. Yeah. I feel, yes. But get comfy, you belong, you know?
Starting point is 00:29:59 This is your kind of weird house. Thank you, Lisa. Golden Axe is streaming now on Paramount Plus, which we love. And you can see Brothers right now on Apple TV Plus. Starting point is 00:33:09 Code love it. And we're back. Keep it. Don't mind if I do. Put your hands together for the host of Crooked Zone Keep It podcast. It's Louis Virtel and Nina Parker. Hey. Welcome.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Thank you for having us. Yeah. So glad you're here. All right. You're hosting Keep It Together. Yeah. How has the show been since officially kicking off this new era? Well, I have to tell you, I will,
Starting point is 00:33:37 unfortunately talk about pop culture whether or not it's being recorded. So it's sort of like, you know, I think Nina would as well. But we were literally just upstairs blabbing for like an hour. So it's just, it's unfair that we get to do this in front of people. I mean, I've been doing this for so long. It's just very natural. Even if I want to, people are going to grab me and be like, what do you think about so-and-so. So I might as well just put it on the platform.
Starting point is 00:33:56 You know what I mean? You got to monetize it. Yeah. That's the name of the game. If you're good, I just better monetize it. Yeah. In this day and age? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I didn't say I was good at it. I'm just going to do it. Good at it. So we have new seasons of traders. The cast for the U.S. and UK seasons were just announced. Who are you most excited about, Nina? I'm friends with some of these people. So I'm friends with Taylor Hell.
Starting point is 00:34:19 I'm friends with Cynthia Bailey. So, I mean, you know, I'm room for everybody black. So, I mean, I'm just, I'm rooting for them. I want them to win. I think, like, Cynthia is going to people see her as this very, like, nice, calm. But Cynthia is very strategic. And she's been in this business since she was a teenager. Like, she's, you don't do that.
Starting point is 00:34:35 by just being like a Passover, you know? And she's been through Nini, like she, she went through this, you know, but you went through the biggest one and you made it out unscathed. Not to just pick out a black woman, but Fadra last, but it actually is. Well, why not? I will. You'd be wrong not to. But Fadra, Fadra was so good on that season.
Starting point is 00:34:55 And I can't remember which guy it was, Tom, Van, Tim. There was a guy. Yeah. And he tried to get. went over on Fadra and then all of a sudden like the lawyer turned on and I was like holy shit that was cool as hell yeah she just ripped him to eat it oh she got me tell you something that is something you you as a black woman you got to learn how to read from childhood or you're not going to make it in a neighborhood you got to know how to read somebody and that's something that you can turn on and off
Starting point is 00:35:22 quickly and Fadra doesn't really turn it off she just has lower versions of it but it ain't ever off yeah it sort of like the twit like I think some uh housewives have struggled because they think it's about the drama. And then there were housewives who kind of used the drama like a weapon at the key moments, which I think is like a different thing. I'm excited to see, uh, Bronwyn. So I interviewed Bronwyn on Love or Leave It. And then we found out the next day that she and Todd were Dunzo. She didn't give us that news. And then I was on, uh, watch what happens with Bronwyn. And then the next day they announced traitors. And it's like, man, she's going to be good. Were you mad you didn't get the exclusives? I just like to know what's going on. Yeah, you want you wanted the exclusive. I would
Starting point is 00:36:02 I didn't even, I don't even, yeah, I guess I did. Why didn't tell me, girl? We were sitting right here. Yeah, that's right. Next time you check her. Yeah. That's right. I was more personally her.
Starting point is 00:36:12 You like me breathing life into you. I'm like, you better tell her. You stand up for yourself. You tell the people don't talk to you like that. Don't talk to me this way. I think something I love about the traitors is it's such a fake skill set. Like, everybody is amazing at the show for two seconds and then we all hate them and they're untalented the next.
Starting point is 00:36:29 So it's like, like, Kristen Chenowitz is going to be on the show. show. And let me tell you something. I believe in the sanctity of like actors and believing that they have a mystique and something will, you know, we'll never know their big secret, why they're that talented or whatever. Something about a show like this strips that away. And I have to tell you, I feel bad for actors
Starting point is 00:36:45 going on this show. I do not think they are in control of the edit and it will go poorly for them. Oh, that's the best reason to watch. Yeah, I agree with that. Well, it's, I feel like there's, the actors are good at the part of the show that is Traders, but Traders is the game of Mafia, basically are
Starting point is 00:37:01 traders, plus everything around it and all the kind of ways in which, because it's a television show, it doesn't actually follow the rules of the game. The rules of the game are mediated through the fact that it is a television show, which changes the character of how people play. I was at a game night with a bunch of actors and comedians, and I think I will just say, can you name drop? I'm going to. Oh, please. I'm like, don't tell me that and don't tell me who. And Whitney Cummings was in the mafia. And it was, I'm telling you, I am telling you, and I will,
Starting point is 00:37:39 anyone who was there that night remembers, it was one of the most extraordinary performances I've ever seen. Afterwards, people were genuinely afraid of her because she was in the mafia and she made it all the way to the end. It was, it was an incredible display. It was incredible. Can I tell you something, bizarrely,
Starting point is 00:37:58 I was also at a game night where I went thinking I could just be a competitive gay person and act out of control and, you know, the way a game night should be run. And it was all actors, all of them. And I don't think this is disparaging to say. But I remember watching actors play this game is bone chilling because they communicate in a way, you know, we do not. I remember Bryce Dallas Howard said to Kristen Bell, I need to tell you, I think you're in the mafia. And I don't want you to take that as an insult. it's because I think you're so talented. No.
Starting point is 00:38:30 You're supposed to be insulting when you accuse somebody of being in the mafia. You're dirty, you're weird, and I don't want to look at you or whatever. You know what? I feel like both of y'all just wanted us to know
Starting point is 00:38:37 who you was hanging out without the mafia. I did not. Oh my God. I did. I did have things. Please give me a break. I did want to know.
Starting point is 00:38:44 But it wasn't, you know, we didn't have nobody famous there. I mean, I was there. And why even bother? The Times is rolling out their picks for the 100 best TV shows of the 21st century. Scandles at 100,
Starting point is 00:38:56 and with shows like East down at 90. Anthony Bordane's parts unknown at 64. Rupal's drag race at 61. What are your thoughts, Lewis? Well, this was going to be my rant wheel thing. So I'm going to rant now. Okay. Yes. Here's the thing. So they're listing the 100 Greatest TV shows
Starting point is 00:39:11 the same way they listed the 100 greatest movies recently and everybody is submitting their top 10 ballots. I am discouraged by how few people I know are putting reality shows in their 10 best shows of the 21st century. Like, I don't trust anybody who's only putting like Mad Men or like, breaking bad or whatever. That's propaganda.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Like, the best television of the past 25 years is Project Runway, period. Like, and a furious gay man telling you your hemline is askew. That's why we do television. What did you finish the new season without spoilers? Oh, I sure did, yes. Great. We are law roach devotees.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I love... Gay people, did you know this should be mean? That's the whole point. It was glorious to be... When he was going after the show or even like being angry at the other judges, it felt like back in a,
Starting point is 00:40:03 we felt like a time machine to an era where reality TV show where the guests were really worried about the contest itself and less about how they were being seen on the show. It was more about like he was really mad about what was unfolding and not thinking or caring about like how it would be perceived or caring more about the taste than the relationships in that little moment. And it was like, oh, thank God, people just having it out. It was awesome.
Starting point is 00:40:26 And judging also is getting, has gotten so polite these days. But like when you're at home with your girlfriends or your friends and you're watching and you talk the same shit, you know what I mean? You're saying, like, this looks ridiculous, but people are afraid to say that for fear of how they're going to look.
Starting point is 00:40:39 But I think, like, in a competition, you're supposed to judge. You're supposed to kind of get a little snarky. That's what makes it interesting to me. Just say it to my face. I won't. Now, one of the, now part of what keep it's about
Starting point is 00:40:54 is an unfiltered take, no matter of the consequences, Are you seeing any backlash to anything you've said recently? Yeah. Right. That's all we see. Are you suggesting there'd be like, good take. More of that, please.
Starting point is 00:41:06 I mean, I've been dealing with, I mean, I've been doing media for 20 years, and I find that as an opinionated black woman, I'm criticized. I'll post a picture of the sunset. Somebody got something to say. Like, how dare you think the sunsets for you? So, like, I've always dealt with that. I think, like, you know, I don't mind criticism. I don't mind people in the comments.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Like, you're sure you should have. What I don't like is threats. What I don't like is, you know, calling me names and, you know, like, I think, like, when it gets to that, like, I go low. I go low with you, babes. We can, I don't, I'm not Michelle Obama at all. I'm whatever the opposite of that is. That's where I'm at. Michelle Lohama.
Starting point is 00:41:40 I'm going to go on your profile. I'm going to look and see what you got in your bio. Like, I'm going to drag you. So just, if you come in, just understand, we're going bar for bar. You know, we're going bar for bar. So say what you want. I was blown away. I recently.
Starting point is 00:41:54 You okay? I'm just, I'm just saying. I got a ticket on you. I just thinking about what I do. And mostly what I do is sort of close my phone and say, but I was good on that, wasn't I? I am surprised at some time what sparks a bad reaction. Like I said, like, okay, we're all getting a little sick of the Nicole Kidman,
Starting point is 00:42:10 AMC ad. Like, I obviously don't need to see that anymore. Excuse me. It was like I, like, said, and your grandmother's ugly. The way people respond. I didn't realize it was such a embedded cultural institution. Like, people are still, like, laughing and high-fiving what it appears and stuff. Maybe it's a difference of how many movies we all see.
Starting point is 00:42:25 But, like, I simply, I can't do it anymore. Like, Nicole Kidman is on every screen we have. As I've said on the show, she's the most employed person in entertainment history. Like, here's Bob Hope, here's Nicole Kidman. You know what I'm saying? Cole got job. But, you know, people did not take kindly to you want to take her bag away. All she has is bags.
Starting point is 00:42:43 She's like a trick-or-treater. Yeah. The objection is that people want to make sure Nicole Kidman has a warm roof over her head, you know? They're looking out for her. We're still concerned about her and Tom. I mean, what was the plan? We're going to make one, and that's it for fucking ever. Like, they used to make them all the time.
Starting point is 00:43:01 I want to see the pretzels dance again. Yes. It doesn't need to. I know they're worried about how they're going to follow up on the fucking Nicole. I'm sure it's a whole discussion. How do we replace this? What comes next? How about a fucking dancing bit of popcorn, like the old day?
Starting point is 00:43:13 I miss that. We haven't checked in on Raisin' Nets in a decade. Yeah. Are they happy? Junior Mintz? Yeah. Do they have something to say? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:21 I'd like to hear from them. I liked when we get to, like, remember when HBO let you go swooping through the city until you went into the physical H and the physical B and then the physical O? Yeah. That was great. Do something like that. I feel like it might get us on the back, on the right timeline. I'm here for it. Let's try it. You would swoop through and then the O would become TV. Right. Yes. Welcome to Larry Sanders. Yeah. Zub, zoob, zoob, zoob, Zub, Zub, Zub, TV. But yeah, we, you know, surprisingly enough, you think pop culture, like you don't get a lot of trolls. You get a lot of trolls. Yeah. Do you think it's,
Starting point is 00:43:51 Yeah, I was called I'm being called as we speak a fascist liberal Zionist and a self-hating Jew at the same time which kind of means I think I'm doing okay it evens itself out. Yeah. Also I just feel like
Starting point is 00:44:07 I will say when it comes to like pop culture criticism and people you know not liking what you say I feel like most of the insults towards me come down to and you don't have lips. I'm like girl no one in my family has lips. That's what we do. Yeah. It gets very playground.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Yeah, right. That's my wheelhouse. I don't mind it. I don't ever duck smoke. I just put my phone down. We're going to work on this. I put my phone down and then I think, are they right? Well, now I'll be in the comments defending you.
Starting point is 00:44:36 Oh, thanks. So you see me. I know I don't go in the comments. I never go in the comments. You never read them? No, no, I didn't say that. I, of course, read them. The thrill of both the mean, like the meanness and the back and the back and
Starting point is 00:44:50 It's intoxicating, obviously. It's terrible for us. Spiritually terrible for us. There was a time when Frank Sinatra could drive through a plate glass window at a casino, give somebody a hundred bucks. Nobody would talk about it. Which means it's time for a game we're calling the people have spoken. That's what I mean.
Starting point is 00:45:11 Oh, okay. Oh, they got some graphics going. There's a little graphic right there. Did I do a great transition? Yeah, it was good. It was fine. It was fine. You'll hear about it later in the comment.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Yeah, for sure. Here's how it works. I'm going to read an headline. It will either be a real or fake People magazine headline. Which is my Bible. First up, Channing Tatum was not behind the Instagram account mocking ex-Zoie Kravitz and Harry Stiles fan site proves. Oh, this is real.
Starting point is 00:45:38 Oh, yeah. And I want it to be real. I mean, I want him to have run this site so desperately. I'm obsessed with this story. So it's not him, but how is that? Oh, please. Channon got a little lurk. Everybody lurks.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Everybody lurks. Everybody lurks. You're following this page. So if it's not him, what do they prove? We don't know who did it. It's someone close to Chanitatam. It's a stranger who just followed Chanitaine. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:46:03 But Channing Tatum followed that account. It's unknowable force. Put together a hater account about Harry Stiles and Zoe Kravitz. It's as simple as that. Yeah. And we don't know if it's him or a friend of his. If it was me, it would have been one of my cousins. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:46:13 Like they would definitely do that for me. That's real love. Somebody who sets up an account to lurk for you, that's love. What nice cousins you have. Yeah. Oh, they ride for me. that's beautiful Robert Patton
Starting point is 00:46:27 reveals his lifelong struggle with colorblindness in emotional Instagram post No, not real Yeah, it's fake I made it up I feel like eventually the struggle ends
Starting point is 00:46:35 It couldn't be lifelong You know, he's like Oh, you know what, I can't see green Some people have it even worse There are people where it's just all brown There's lots of shades of brown Very Phoenix I relate
Starting point is 00:46:48 Martha Stewart reveals Which of her horses She would marry if he were a person I'm going to say that's fake. I also am going to say that's fake. That's correct. Health officials seeking woman who was seen touching a rabid bat trying to put it in her bag. Oh, I think this is, in 2026, this is true.
Starting point is 00:47:09 I say yes. So just touching a rabid bat trying to put it in her back. I'm going to say yes because it's such a specific action. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. You got it. Woman gives birth in a KFC parking lot, gives baby,
Starting point is 00:47:22 boy a fitting fast food name. Oh, I could see this happening for sure. Also, the clickbait is good because I'm like, what's the name? Like, biscuit? What's it going to be? I'm going to say no. I'm going to say no. I'm going to say no. I'm going to say real.
Starting point is 00:47:37 In his right. It's so specific. Yeah, I guess. And we'll tell you the name after the break. No, I'll tell you the name. I'll tell you the name. I'll tell you the name. I'll tell you.
Starting point is 00:47:45 It was, so it was just Cody. But, but they're calling him Colonel Cody. Oh. Okay. I like that. Sure. graphic is interesting. The baby in the KFC bucket.
Starting point is 00:47:56 I'm just going to say that I got that right, because Colonel Cody is not his name. You're right. Okay, okay, fine. This is how he is. Travis Kelsey praises Taylor Swift's hot look from her Law and Order SVU cameo. There's not much she can't do.
Starting point is 00:48:09 This sounds like something he would say. Totally. Yep, you got it. Shailene Woodley's stylist checks into Passages Malibu after red carpet pile on. I might be responsible for this. I dragged her little bit. I might have dragged her a little bit. Because you didn't like the look.
Starting point is 00:48:26 No, I did not. No. She's probably lovely. But no, I did not like the look. I mean, it's not even fair to have called it a look. It's like she was a genie, but she only had $3 to make a genie outfit. Yeah. They tried.
Starting point is 00:48:43 They try. That being said, I think this is fake. It is fake. Yeah, you got it. It is fake. And finally, Melissa McCarthy reveals her take on John Bonnet Ramsey case after playing her mom, quote, I probably am not supposed to say. Definitely real. Real. Yeah, that's real. We do this.

Starting point is 00:50:42 This time with our friends at Crooked Media for a new show called Still counting. Yeah. Numbers are hard. It takes her easy. And frankly,
Starting point is 00:50:51 numbers have only gotten harder. What does the data actually say? How do we reconcile that with the other things that we're seeing in American politics and around the world? And how do we use that data to understand or maybe even dare to predict the future of American politics? New episodes every Wednesday starting September 9th. Subscribe to Stillcounting on YouTube.com slash at Stillcounting podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. Yes.
Starting point is 00:51:23 They say a Rolling Stone Gathers no moss, but how about a rolling wheel? Terrific. That's right. We've reached a part of the evening that is the rant wheel. We'll each have 60 seconds. Let's spin it and talk about whatever you want to talk about. Get it.
Starting point is 00:51:44 Buckle the fuck up. Because guess what? When I'm at a party with your stupid ass and I'm talking to someone and you come into the conversation and I'm just trying to be polite and you enter and I say, oh, Megan, this is Lauren. And you guys already know each other, you don't need to go, oh, nice to meet you. We've never met before.
Starting point is 00:52:06 What's your name? Huh. You put on a little play to make me feel like an asshole because I didn't know that you two have known each other for 20 years. I don't find the joke funny. I don't find the joke respectful. I find it to be a punishing move that is made to me make me feel like the dog's breakfast on a Sunday morning just for being a lovely little party girl that knows her etiquette. So I would like to say to you next time that happens, just graciously say, oh yes, I know, Lauren, we actually went to college together. Ha ha! There, it's over. Fuck you, stop doing that.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Or stop inviting me to your party, you horrible, horrible women. The rare use of the British aphorism, dogs breakfast. You've made me feel absolutely as the dog's breakfast. Love them. Beautiful. All right, let's spin it again. Lewis, what would you like to rant about? Okay, so we already talked about how the New York Times has this list of the 100 greatest TV shows or whatever. And always whenever there's a new list out about everything, people complain, this is rage bait. You mean me having passionate opinions about the arts?
Starting point is 00:53:21 This is the only reason I'm alive. This is me being myself. Let me have this, okay? And I don't want to talk about all the other things you want to talk about because that's for his podcast, not mine, okay? Back to the list. I don't trust anybody who doesn't put on their list of the greatest shows of this century, American Idol. American Idol is the greatest reality show of all time. and I'll tell you why.
Starting point is 00:53:40 One, we gave Randy Jackson eight figures every single year to be like, I'm not sure that was good. Literally, he's never had a real opinion in his life. He makes $10 million a year. Paula Abdul, did she know she was on a show? So exciting to watch. Simon Cowell, the richest man alive,
Starting point is 00:53:56 literally always wearing a Henley you could definitely get at H&M. Why did he choose that? It was always like three sort of shaved hairs on his chest. Anyway, also the singing was so good. I, to this day, throw out an occasional, it's a no for me dog. And I just, it's a beautiful way to say no to something. Just, that's a no for me dog.
Starting point is 00:54:21 I just use a Randy Jackson phrase all the time. I also think more telling them is, and I'm going to stop. Also, I think more telling than this. And I know that I'm going to stop. What your favorite American Idol winner is. Like, if you tell me your favorite winner was, I don't know, Taylor Hicks or something. Like, I know something about your family background. That's so haunted.
Starting point is 00:54:37 So here's the thing. Let's talk about Taylor Hicks. Please. I feel like we were in, at that moment, a kind of collective reverie. Like, because was it, is it Carrie Underwood who's second? No, who's second? Catherine McPhee. Catherine McPhee is second that season, which, in hindsight, insane.
Starting point is 00:54:53 But in the moment, there was a part of it that was like, look at how that guy's face is weird when he sings. Let's give it to him. Yeah. And we all were like, no, we are going to love Taylor Hicks forever. Forever he will be our guy. We're not going to stop listening. We're not going to move on. it's him forever.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And obviously, three or four days after that season, he was gone, and Catherine Murphy remains. But I think that's a cool thing. It's like a tattoo. You know, it's like, why'd we get that Taylor Hicks tattoo? I don't know. But at the time, it was so cool to us. Yeah. Did you get a Taylor Hicks tattoo?
Starting point is 00:55:26 Yeah. It's my whole back. Let's spin it again. Before you move forward in a relationship, I don't care if it's a friendship, a marriage, you're dating. go to the fucking airport with this person because everybody's IQ drops like 30 points when they walk into the fucking doors at LAX. I don't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:55:51 I don't know why you want to just walk and then stop and use your phone. Why not pull over to the side? I'm not sure why your whole family is taking up the whole fucking hallway while I'm trying to get to my gate. I'm not sure why you need to change the baby's diapers right here in the middle of the way.
Starting point is 00:56:04 But you need to do it, right? Nobody knows how to say, excuse me. They don't see you. They're rolling over your feet every time. And you got to know if that person does not have TSA pre-check, you got to drop them. You got to break up with them. Fuck leave meeting them at the gate.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Leave them, period. Because they don't have good judgment. You coming up here without pre-check? Are you okay? You can get away with not having clear, but pre-check is a deal-breaker. You need to understand if somebody can pack it in and pack it up and keep it moving.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Because if you can't keep up, you can't keep me. Beautifully said. That's a yes for me, dog. I'm going to stop saying it. starting now let's spin it again I'm going to build on your airport rant something has now happened
Starting point is 00:56:57 where there was this blissful time when there was just pre-check and normal and nobody had pre-check if you had pre-check life was good then they added clear and so you got clear right you said I'll get clear in case it's a thing
Starting point is 00:57:12 and you get clear and then clear was amazing pre-check was good regular nightmare I don't know what's going on over there. And then you would go through clear and it would be amazing. Now you get to the airport and there are,
Starting point is 00:57:24 there's standard pre-check, touchless ID, clear with pre-check, clear without pre-check. And it is now a crapshoot as to where I belong, which is the shortest line. Like I don't, like,
Starting point is 00:57:39 and what sucks about going to the airport is nobody knows that I belong on the shortest line. And so there's no one, and I can't say, hey, where do I go? Like I see where this is all going
Starting point is 00:57:54 and where that's all going. Where do I go? Because I'm flying today. And that's the rail wheel. And we'll be right back with second thoughts. Frank Sinatra once saying regrets I have a few, but then again too few to mention. But he's dead and we're alive.
Starting point is 00:58:25 And so we have a list of all the things the producers believe I did wrong during this show. So let's discuss them now in tonight's final segment, which we call second thoughts. I have a list of things that they believe
Starting point is 00:58:36 I could have done better as a person that they've collected during this episode. I opened the show with a joke about the president having a mess. You just called the show the Joe. I did.
Starting point is 00:58:50 I did another error. I'm loving this. Let's see. I'm I'm sorry about joking about people dying in plane crashes again, but I'm not sorry enough to stop. I lost you on Tom Cruise, but that was all your fault. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Oh, yeah, and I, you guys didn't like when I compared Rachel Maddo to the Ayatola. I am also sorry for implying that Dolly Parton is in hell. What? It was like a little joke. What? Oh, no. She could have done more. At the same time, she kept her private life private, so we really don't know. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Exactly, exactly, exactly. Such an important, thank you. Let's see. Lisa, I regret that I tried to sound strong. And I regret being a guest on the show. I do start every question with, hey. And he got my ass. Do I have more?
Starting point is 00:59:52 Oh, yeah. I let Nina make me too confident. That is actually my fault. What kind of sense? sick, twisted, mental games to the, we have now going back and forth with the people that produced this show. Why do you want me insecure and anxious
Starting point is 01:00:10 all the time? Why is that good for you? I apologize to the staff. Don't apologize to them. Thoughts and prayers. I violated the NDA. I signed before playing Mafia with Whitney Cummings. There was no NDA. The name dropping, I think, was a lot for me. I was, say.
Starting point is 01:00:28 But also, you didn't say whether you won the game or not. Well, that was intentional. I was, I got out, so I All I remember, I definitely did not, I did not win. But I don't remember I was in the mafia or not, but I remember once I was out, everybody was just riveted by the performance that my friend, who shall remain nameless,
Starting point is 01:00:44 was putting on. Merrill Street? Let's just say, let's call her, yeah, yeah, let's call her, yeah. Rime her name. What, who can remember? You know, Julia Bobberts. Oh, sure. That's not true.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Great rhyming of the person. she just wanted to hang. I wasn't at a party with Julia Roberts. That never happened. One day. Wait, what did you say about Tom Cruise earlier? Oh, just that he's going to die making whatever Mission Impossible movie he makes last.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Oh, okay. I find fandom of Tom Cruise kind of annoying. He's only good when he's playing evil people. I love him in Magnolia and I love him in Rain Man. Otherwise, he's boring to me. Thank you. Look at you. Look at you. Pearls before fucking swine.
Starting point is 01:01:34 That man gives you. us everything that he has. And if Scientology makes someone that intense, committed, passionate, disciplined, and serious, get my hands on that fucking E-meter because I'm in.
Starting point is 01:01:49 I'm in. I don't even want to be up here while you're saying that. He's a gift to us. Well, he was a gift. He was a gift, but now we have high rock, so now we can all do that. You know what I mean? And I have only one last regret, which is that's our show. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Gilroy to Lewis Rattel and Nina Parker. There are 41 days until the midterms. We'll be back Friday with MSNows, Rachel Maddow, Michelle Collins, and Nemesh Patel.
