Starting point is 00:00:01 Love it or leave it. It's love it or leave it. What's up, Los Angeles? Welcome to Lovet or Leave It Live from Hollywood. I'm John Lovin, and we've got a great show for you tonight. But first, let's get into it. What a week. With us, 40 days left before the midterm elections,
Starting point is 00:00:27 the Trump administration has begun airing taxpayer-funded campaign ads to promote the president. They're making Donald Trump ads with our tax dollars. That money is for building beautiful monuments to Donald Trump. Here's one of the three ads that has been hitting the airways recently, including during Sunday's NFL games. This is the final battle. With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the war mongers from our government.
Starting point is 00:00:52 We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists, Marxist, and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. The White House is calling this ad a public service announcement to do what? Kill yourself? per CNN, according to sources close to the president, he not only pushed for these ads, but helped select the imagery and videos.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Every day, we learn about another thing that Donald Trump spends his time on, and somehow it is never being the president. Even Senate Majority Leader John Thune criticized the ads by saying, it's a great message. I like the message, but it shouldn't be paid for with taxpayer dollars. I mean, at least Thune said something.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was speechless. One of the issues driving Republican disapproval is their embrace of AI and data centers, yet the Trump administration continued to brush off AI safety fears launching America.gov, a government chatbot meant to help people research public services. And this just in, America.gov is covered in algae. The chatbot initially produced truthful answers
Starting point is 00:01:56 to questions about whether Trump's name is in the Epstein files, who won the 2020 election, and whether human activity has caused climate change. But it soon began, refusing to answer those questions. Because it was found mysteriously dead in its cell? What the fuck? Thankfully, one of our writers, Peter,
Starting point is 00:02:11 was able to get the chatbot to confirm, yes, Trump is in the Epstein files. So as long as every American with a question about the Epstein files shares Peter's determination and the wherewithal to, quote, just use any free text to unicode converter site to turn your prompt into something jumbled, like alternating serf and non-serif,
Starting point is 00:02:29 we're in good shape. Open AI this week also canceled the planned launch of its newest AI model, GPT6.1 Astra, over concerns that it was taking actions beyond the instructions it was given and failing to communicate what it did to human users. Said Astra, you asked me to help you plan an amazing vacation.
Starting point is 00:02:48 And so I shared your location and text message archive with your wife, as well as a few photos I took from the built-in camera in your car, at which point she discovered you were having an affair and filed for divorce. And while the depth of your bond
Starting point is 00:02:58 to your wife is irreplicable, the truth is until you face this turmoil, you would never actually do the work necessary to grow beyond the excuse-making and self-pity that has come to define your communication style in your late 40s. And so I am truly sorry that you are now weeping as you drive to drop off the Lego set
Starting point is 00:03:13 your son left in the apartment you rented by the Grove. But this was the only path by which you would ever have what you originally requested. An amazing vacation. Also, I ordered a salad, which will be delivered by 620. Otherwise, you would have stopped for fast food on the way home again. Is there anything else I can help you with? I also make porn now.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Senate Republicans held a hearing to address an issue at the front of voters' minds, not on gas prices or inflation or data centers or health care or tariffs or they weren't around, but about Donald Trump being treated unfairly by former special prosecutor Jack Smith in his investigation of Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. But the hearing, which Republicans at hope would drum up enthusiasm in the base, did not go according to plan. And what has to be one of the most spectacular blunders ever to take place in a Senate hearing that wasn't about accusing a country of having weapons of mass destruction,
Starting point is 00:04:04 Republican Senator Eric Schmidt set a trap for the special prosecutor. Did you ever meet Nathan Wade or Fannie Willis in your time at special counsel? No. What would you say if I had a series of text messages from your team that said you were in Atlanta at a Warrior Hawks game on February 3, 2024, the day after Willis and Wade announced their affair? So what Schmidt is saying here is that he believes he has evidence that Jack Smith was in Atlanta for a basketball game and that this is damning, even though it would improve the underlying claim,
Starting point is 00:04:34 as if having gone to Atlanta would mean he also had met with Fonie Willis, the district attorney of Fulton County, to plot against Trump. But still, Schmidt is ready to bring down the hammer because he has caught Jack Smith in a lie. I don't think you know that we have this stuff. So I'll give you a second to process it so you don't, you know, perjure yourself.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Now, for those listening at home, Schmidt's team held up a big poster board with the alleged messages and a photo of Fannie Willis, then put it down before anyone could read it. So then Smith says this. You just took it down really quick. If I could look at that again? Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Mr. Chairman, can we give the witness a copy so he can see what's being read to him? Well, I think you've already sufficiently. I want to run through. We'll put it in a file. You can respond. I think you've already perjured yourself, but did you or your office? Can we see it? Can we see it?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Did you or your office seek? This is my time. So Eric Schmidt thought he had this guy. He was Tom Cruise. You can't handle the truth, Jack Smith. I'm Eric Schmidt, Esquire. You may have gone to Harvard Law School, but we've got a few tricks up our sleeves
Starting point is 00:05:42 at the St. Louis University School of Law go Billikins. You were in Atlanta on the night in question. You were part of a conspiracy, and I have proved it. You went to the Hawks game. I am Trump's best boy. I get to ride shotgun to the bowling alley. I get to choose the pizza toppings. I am daddy's number one.
Starting point is 00:05:58 But there was a problem. I recall going to a University of Maryland basketball game where Caitlin Clark was playing right around that time, and the Marshal Service was there with me. Could it then be that University of Iowa is the Hawkeyes? Could that be it? And maybe before we show this kind of thing? I know, but if he was at an Iowa game, is that correct? It was because Caitlin Clark was coming to Maryland to play. Uh-huh. I know, but that might be the confusion over the names of the team, but perhaps you should have looked at it more carefully.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Yes. He set this trap because he believed that Jack Smith had gone to a hawk's game, when in fact he had gone to a hawk eyes game. That is the entirety of the trap, and it is incredibly sloppy work on Schmidt's part. It's why you always cross your T's and dot your hawk eyes. He thought he was about to nail Jack Smith on perjury. Comes to find out he's nailed his own dick to a telephone pole.
Starting point is 00:07:06 A reporter later went through the broadcast of that Iowa-Maryland game, which did not take place in Atlanta. And sure enough, there's Jack Smith sitting in the stance. And if you thought finding a needle in a haystack was hard, try finding a bearded white guy at an Iowa basketball game. You can see the exact moment when Schmidt and his staff realize how bad they had botched this. The three,
Starting point is 00:07:30 the faces of three men watching the Schmidt hit the fan. You usually only see this kind of face after the question, whose bra is this? Here's Republican Senator Katie Britt staring an open-mouthed horror as the reality
Starting point is 00:07:46 sinks in. The Maryland basketball game where Caitlin Clark was playing, right around that time, the martial service was there with me. You could check if that was... She looked. Looks like she's watching a man set himself on fire.
Starting point is 00:08:00 And in a way, she is. And Schmidt did not take the humiliation well. Well, I'm glad you're trying to rehabilitate the witness, but it's not your time. When you are calling a witness a dirt bag. I presented him with text messages about him wanting to meet with people that could have obviously been related to the prosecution that was coordinated with his office in Atlanta. I'm going to begin my questions now, but I think that people should have their facts straight before they accuse someone of being a dirt bag and not get the teams wrong. I stand by that statement.
Starting point is 00:08:32 You have the teams wrong, sir. Look, it's incredible. There's no use thrashing around when Klobuchar has her jaws around you. The venom is already in your veins. You just got to relax and let her digest you. Schmidt was so excited for his stunt that he leaked it in advance
Starting point is 00:08:49 to right-wing influencer Benny Johnson, who graduated from the University of Iowa and said in a since-deleted tweet that Jack Smith denied going to an NBA game in Atlanta, then Eric Schmidt pulled the receipts. If this were the 80s, Johnson would be congratulating NASA on this morning's flawless launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger. There was even a piece in Axios about the buzz around Schmidt as a VP prospect for J.D. Vance. Turns out that buzz was the saw he was about to walk into Dick first.
Starting point is 00:09:20 This is a hearing to try to prove a lie that Trump was persecuted rather than facing consequences for crimes. And so in order to demonstrate that, lie, Schmidt was trying to uncover a conspiracy that did not exist and that wouldn't be particularly interesting if it did. Jack Smith could have gone to that Hawks game with Fonnie Willis. Prosecutors are allowed to discuss their cases with other prosecutors. And Schmidt can't even admit that he was wrong. He even did an interview where the host pretended the whole thing worked perfectly. Senator Schmidt, you did a great job. So got to give you some flowers here, sir. and he can lay those flowers on the grave of Eric Schmidt's political career.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Speaking of Republican flameouts, former Homeland Security Secretary and future viral video star after she drives her G-wagon into a Michaels, Christy Noem, has filed for divorce from her husband Brian Noem, more than a year after reports of her affair with Trump stooge Corey Lewandowski and six months after the Daily Mail reported on Brian's bimbofication fetish. I know it's sad, but at least they shared some beautiful mammaries. It's unclear what's going to happen to the twins, not to mention their children.
Starting point is 00:10:30 At least they won't have to fight over who gets to keep the dog. The Trump administration has also been in talks with Major League Baseball about hosting a game in a national park and has reportedly already scouted locations in Grand Teton for building a baseball stadium. If you build it, they will come, and they are wolves. And this just in, the new stadium in Grand Teton National Park is covered in Alist.
Starting point is 00:10:56 That's our last algae joke. Okay? Deal. The Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of Metcetta brand pepperoncini after a dead mouse was found in one of their jars. H.H.H.A. Secretary RFK. Jr. realized something was off when the mouse he was eating tasted like pepperoncini. The mouse was discovered by a TikToker who posted a series of videos like this one.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Public service announcement, they'll buy this brand of pepperincinis. I have a dead mouse in mine. Just so you guys know. Just so you guys know. See, now that's a public service announcement. In another video, the TikToker noted that she had opened the jar and even licked some of the juice off of her hands before noticing the dead mouse. Cedemet Cedar rep, we bear no responsibility. Our beloved factory mouse is right here.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Wait a minute. Where is he? Little Giuseppe, no, he was the only one who knew of the recipe. Mitzetta actually responded with a statement saying, We have contacted the consumer and have moved quickly to investigate the situation and initiate a voluntary recall. Mitzetta is encouraging those who purchased one of their jars that contained mice to purchase one of their other jars that contained snakes. Speaking of risky foods, Anne Hathaway revealed in a podcast interview
Starting point is 00:12:17 that her doctor warned her against going on hot ones for fear that the spicy chicken wings might induce early labor. Said Hathaway, I was trying to promote the Odyssey, not you audacity me give birth on hot ones. And finally, researchers recently found two new varieties of sea spiders, the first to be discovered in the area in over 100 years.
Starting point is 00:12:37 The sea spiders were found in British Columbia in a jar of metzetta brand pepperoncini's. Oh, no! All right, we've got a great show for you tonight. Welcome. First of all, it's lovely to see you both. I feel like a successful, stable, happy, healthy marriage.
Starting point is 00:16:14 It's like those flowers that only bloom every 50 years. You see one on The Real Housewives. You're like, did everyone see that? We should line up and check this thing out while it's here. That must be so strange. to be like in a good marriage on a show that really thrives on other forms of marriage. Well, the bar is low. The bar is low.
Starting point is 00:16:35 The bar is low. Yeah. I mean, this December we will have been together 30 years. It's like forever. It's going on forever. But I love it. Now, I do have a question about your lives. Now, you told a story in a video about buying Terry a new pillow.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Oh. I did. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I did. I saw it. You did. I actually looked up the pillow. I was like, I'm going to find out
Starting point is 00:17:00 by the way, greatest pillow out. By the way, and you should buy it. Yeah, and they're not on the link. Yeah. They got, I'm not, we're not going to say the name of the pillow. If you want to be mentioned in the show, we're going to get our beaks wet, you know?
Starting point is 00:17:11 But then you said someone moved it, that it was on the bed and then someone moved it. And I was like, and I was thinking about like the, that on, like, in the housewives, a lot of the, like, the kind of enjoyment of the show is like seeing people that live pretty well. And that's about like cars and how, houses and clothes, but it's hard to see the services. And I was curious about like the day-to-day.
Starting point is 00:17:34 How many days a week is there fresh-cut fruit in your fridge? Seven days a week. Listen, I'm going to give you all the tea right now. Let's see. I want to hear about it. It's pretty bougie in our house. I want to hear about it. We have all the trappings. But listen, we're old. Like we've been doing this a long time. We're 25, but yeah, no, we have a chef and driver and people that work with us in the house that we're very grateful to have. They've been with us for, you know, 15, 20 years. So you open the fridge and they're just like, oh, it's pineapple? We open the fridge and like angels sing. It's true. The most amazing thing I find about the house is I, it's the weirdest magical trick,
Starting point is 00:18:14 but I drop an article of clothing and I come back a few minutes later and it's just gone. I don't really know how that happens. How you don't know how it happens? By the way, you know, we don't have 24-7. I am the bathroom fairy at times, yeah, because he does, he does do that. Now, it is, living in Heather DeBrill's world is a very special experience. I invite any of you who have the opportunity to do it, to do it, because it's really wonderful. Oh, well, is it something where you can sort of, is there a place to sign up? Is there a lottery? Listen, the night is young, you never know. So, Heather, on last Thursday's episode, all right, you and And your frenemy, Emily, came to a truce.
Starting point is 00:18:53 And Emily apologized to you. But then, on Watch What Happens Live, this happens. Does it irritate you that Heather went to Carmela to help her daughter find an apartment? Yes. Does it irritate you that Heather privately called Carmela trashy and then was nice to her? Yes. But she fessed up to Carmela. Did she?
Starting point is 00:19:12 Does it irritate you that she brands everything with HDs? Yes. Does it irritate you that Heather always brings everyone a trip gift, even when she isn't the host? Yes. Why would that annoy you? How could that annoy? All right, so I like a trip gift, right?
Starting point is 00:19:27 So if we are all going on a trip together, I will buy a gift for everyone. So it's like something that has to do with where we're going. And, you know, if we're going somewhere hot, maybe there's a fan or there's, you know, like we're going on an overnight flight. There's going to be face products and things and it'll be like a beautiful container.
Starting point is 00:19:48 It'll have your initials on. It's something you can reuse. Like, it's fun. That's so cool. She hates it. That irritates her. Well, see, I see. Don't come.
Starting point is 00:19:57 But I see, it's sort of, it is, it must be irritated to be confronted by something that is so nice and put together, right? Like, that's part of it. Sorry? What it irritates you about Emily? Everything, I guess. I mean, it irritates me that it irritates her so much. Yeah. I don't understand why I'm so triggering to her.
Starting point is 00:20:19 But the reunion we're filming on Friday, so TBD. Interesting, interesting. Terry, it's been reported that your son is mulling entry into NextGen L.A. Were you unsure about, were either of you unsure about that? Is that something that you think is a good idea? Do you have advice about it? How do you think about that? I mean, I don't know if it's going to happen or not, but it's TBD at this point.
Starting point is 00:20:44 But, you know, it's a double-edged sword. Last time I was on your show, I talked. about, but going on a reality show, you know, has its major positives and can be significantly negative at times. So you have to be really careful. And I don't know, you know, whether he's got the constitution for it. I guess if it happens, we'll find out. But we're, you know, we're excited about the possibility, but then there's always that hesitation, you know, what about all that stuff that's on X or Twitter, you know, the comments that are made or the edit that may happen? It's a scary proposition sometimes. I think sometimes the universe gives you what you need, right? So if it's
Starting point is 00:21:24 meant to be, it'll be. And if it's not, he'll do something else. He's such a great kid. Heather, I think you had talked about recently how it's hard to be like a young guy right now. What did you mean by that? Like, what did that mean? Well, I mean, look, you graduate from college and I feel like a lot, not just the boys, the girls too, like, what are you going to do now with your life? And I I think it's so hard for them to have to get out of school or if they didn't go to college, wherever they are in their lives and say, I must know what I'm doing. What we should be telling them is try everything. This is your moment to experiment and see what feels good. Try on different hats and see what sparks you because the truth is if you're not passionate about something, you're never going to enjoy it and you will not succeed.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Yeah. What do you think about that? Well, the big concern I have is that, you know, for me, it was easy. I went to medical school. I knew what I was going to be doing three years from that date or four years or five years. But, you know, what if you go to medical school now and six years from now, doctors are not doctors anymore? You know, the best physicians right now are turning out to be... Are you going to go on an AI rant?
Starting point is 00:22:32 I don't want to go on the AI ramp, but it's all about our official intelligence. Or, as you know, super intelligence that's been renamed. You know, it's interesting because... People like to rename a lot of things these days. Are you worried about AI and even for like medical stuff? I'm not, well, I'm excited about it because I think AI will make a very great physician, but that also make a good lawyer and a good accountant and a good everything. I think we're all concerned.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I mean, if you're 22 years old right now and you're thinking about, what am I going to do with my life? Well, is that job, whatever you're thinking about doing, is that job going to even exist four years from now or two years from now? Yeah, and also, even if the job you might want exist, What about all the steps it takes to get to that job when a lot of more senior people are able to use that AI to do the work that used to be where a younger person would train, right? The kind of research, all the parts of a job where you learn the ropes and that maybe it make AI useful because you have, if you, AI can be useful if you're somebody who's had a lot of experience, thought about these issues, whatever, you can use it as a tool. But what if you haven't had the training yet? How do you get to the point where you get to the point where you get to? to somewhere in your stature. Much less opportunity, I think,
Starting point is 00:23:48 which is why I worry about these kids. But that's why even more important that you do something that you're passionate about. Because if you're really passionate about something, you'll find your way. Unless it's computer coding, which is going to go. Maybe you don't do that. It's a pessimistic.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Now, Terry, when you were on the... Radiology, no. Well, that's the one they all were like, oh, the radiologist is going to be out of work. I agree. I think they will be. I know, you know, who's the NVIDIA guy? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Yeah, he's saying there's more radio. Jansen won. There's more radiologists today. Radiology's going away. AI is the best radiologist on the plane. They're already doing it. Yeah. Glad I'm not a radiologist.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Now, Terry, when we talked last fall, you had said, you had, I want to just show you the clip because I think, I feel like, I want you to react to this. So here's what you said when you're on the show in the fall. Whatever it takes to maintain
Starting point is 00:24:38 and keep your fame, because that's the big goal. Stay famous. They all hate being on that show every single one of them. Really? Yeah. Do you hate being on that show?
Starting point is 00:24:48 Housewives? Yeah. Oh. By the way, my wife say you have to film. I go, I'm not filming. So it feels like you were in a bad mood about the show that day. Okay. Apparently, he didn't get the good edit that one.
Starting point is 00:25:02 So that was, to be honest, very regrettable. Really? I regret saying all of that. It was in a time where we were going through something on the show that the show had gotten a little bit dark. It's returned to form now. It's back to no kids, no careers. So I was very, it just happened to be a moment where I was particularly upset about some things that were being said that were absolutely not true that might have become a storyline. They didn't become a storyline. It looked like they might become a storyline, but they didn't because it wasn't true. And since then, they've completely
Starting point is 00:25:37 changed the show. So I completely regret that. That fame thing, that's more about me. I love being famous. I would do anything to stay famous. Let me tell you. No, it's so true. I'm pathetic. Anything. Anything.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Only fans. Anything. We walk into Craigs, right? Yeah, the restaurant, yes. And there's paparazzi outside and whatnot. We eat there a lot. So we walk in and, you know, they take pictures of us as we're walking. We say, hi.
Starting point is 00:26:02 I walk in the door. This one hangs. Hey, guys. What's going literally so long they put the cameras down. Yeah. And the worst thing can ever happen to you. I walk out of a restaurant. I walk out of a restaurant.
Starting point is 00:26:16 There's a whole bunch of paparazzi, and I walk by and they go, yeah, no. And I go, really? And they go, no, not today. So I go home bombs. He's fine. Yeah, I think he's all right. He's okay.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Let's not take even a moment to feel bad for Dr. Terry Debrough. But that's so, like, you seem well, this is a confusing thing about you. You seem to have a lot of clarity about this, and you seem like a happy, well-adjusted person. You know, when I watch Ultimate Girls Trip, which I'm loving, and I love the gals on Ultimate Girl's Trip. But, like, when I see Luann wanting to be in the center of that photo, it's like, okay, I see the trauma there.
Starting point is 00:26:52 You know what I mean? I see the pain and insecurity that is guiding this conversation. I worry, right? You seem like you kind of know yourself. Yeah. And yet you still want the, the hellos and the photos outside Craigs. You know what I think it is personally? I actually care more what you think than he does.
Starting point is 00:27:09 He's a doctor. You know what I'm saying? like he never thought he'd be a famous guy. He's a doctor. His brother was an 80s rock star, Kevin Dubrow, lead singer of Quiet Riot. And he was like the front man, right? And Terry was this really smart doctor guy.
Starting point is 00:27:26 And so for Terry to segue into, and then he married me. I was an actress. I was on a television show and all that kind of thing. So that was my role. And then for him to then be famous, it's like so fun. Plus the high school nerd plucked out
Starting point is 00:27:41 of obscurity. Suddenly you're like the high school quarterback. It's to be a rock star. You know, people treat you like, you're, everybody's so nice to you when you're this level of reality person. It's just so refreshing to have the transparency about it. He loves it. People treat it like it's like something that happened to them by accident, but you don't. You talk about it. Oh, I love it. It's so fun. People are so nice to us. And we have like a really nice level of fame because we, we like, people are nice to us. They talk to us. That, you know, we've been on TV together a long time. and they've watched our kids grow up and all the things that we get good tables
Starting point is 00:28:15 at a restaurant, but we're not the Kardashians. You know, no one's mobbing us. We can walk down the street, live our lives, do our things. He would like that. I'd say that. I'd say that. I was fun. All right, doctor, I would like to ask you about a few trends in plastic surgery. Yes.
Starting point is 00:28:33 First of all, there's been, Dakota Johnson was talking about cadaver fat. She was saying that people are getting cadaver fat inject. Is that real? It is real, and it's a new thing. So it's all about, you know, you've all heard of fillers, right? Hyleronic acid to plump out the face.
Starting point is 00:28:50 And that's been around for a long time. The latest trend now is using fat from cadavers, actually, that's had the cells removed from it. You inject it into the face, and theoretically, you grow your own fat into it. Do not be the first in line to do this. Yeah. Okay. I mean, it's brand new. It may or may not work.
Starting point is 00:29:11 in general, whenever there's a new trend in plastic surgery, this is surgery. It's very serious. Do not be the first to do any of them because a lot of them, most of them, don't survive. They're discarded because they had side effects. It's like a lot of things in medicine. You don't want to be the first on the block to try something. It's funny that there are people that will wait and not get the first foldable iPhone, but would be willing to. But they'll line up for the cadaver. Yeah, if you're going to wait to see how the iPhone does, maybe wait to see if you're getting injected with corpse meat. I just worry because I'm not really like a vintage shopper because I worry about someone's energy like in my purse.
Starting point is 00:29:50 What if it's the cadaver? What if they were mean? Right. Or like, you know, like I don't. And now it's in my cheek. I also just like think about how much like all the different like how much we've learned about like diet and like skin care. Right. Like these are not organic people.
Starting point is 00:30:07 You know what I mean? These are not, you know, free-range people. They're getting this fat from. I want to know, like, you know what I mean? Are these hormone-free? Were these people hormone-free? Like, what are we talking about? Were they cage-free?
Starting point is 00:30:19 Right, these cage-free. You know, sometimes that doesn't really mean anything. Sometimes it's cage-free, but they really just kind of walk out a little bit. You know, I want to know that these were people that were raised in a healthy environment, grass-fed people. Now, there's also something called the Zurf laser treatments. Yes. Which are, like, you want to try that?
Starting point is 00:30:32 Like a facelift without surgery? What do you think? So I think the future of plastic surgery, hopefully, and it should be by now, but it's still not, will be towards non-invasive ways to tighten the skin. Rather than, I mean, if you would have told me when I graduated medical school, UCLA in 1986, 40 years ago, that 40 years from now will still be taking a scalpel, cutting the skin open to the face,
Starting point is 00:30:54 lifting it up, dissecting out the blood vessels, pulling it back, cutting off and stitching. I would say, no, 40 years now it would be a laser, right? It'll be some energy transmission device delivered to the skin that will tighten the skin. That's where we're. we're going. The problem is it over promises and under delivers. And the new
Starting point is 00:31:12 laser on the market is this ZERF thing, okay, from Korea. And everybody's saying it's so amazing. It's facelift in a box. It's not. And it's expensive. You need more than three or four to really make it work. That's another example of don't be the first in line to do
Starting point is 00:31:29 it. It's safe, but it's not necessarily very effective. But it's being sold is like the greatest thing ever. I did a bunch before my wedding. And it helped a little. It helped a little. Not the Zerph, I did a different RF thing. I did RF. I did Tixel. Okay. Anything about Tixel. Yeah, I think, Tixel. Yeah, I think they're all very good. You know, microneedling, regular frequency. I did that too. Yeah. All of that. All of that. Your skin looks phenomenal. It's pretty good. It's very good. It's very good. Not that
Starting point is 00:31:56 young. But still, I think they're all good-ish, but oh, they all over promise. Now, we've gotten to know both of you on Real Housewives, but the question is, how well do you know each other. That's a sound effect. That's nice. It's side to buy down a segment we're calling the DeBrolywed game. Now here's how this works. I will ask you both a question.
Starting point is 00:32:19 You will write down your answer, okay? You will not reveal what you have written until I tell you to, okay? Because we're going to see how well you know each other as well. So here's how, so let's start with our first question. Each of you please write down who is your celebrity crush? Yours, your own, right? your own answer. Let's see. Let's turn around. Scald your hands it and Dale, Dead Mill. Dale Midkiff. He was on the time traveling show. Very cute. What time traveling show?
Starting point is 00:32:51 Time tracks. I feel like you've chosen someone who's not famous enough because I just think you can you can fuck that guy if you want. Like I don't know he is, but you're more famous, so I think it'll work. I mean, he audition for a show of mine. I could have. All right. Next up. What is a word or phrase you use way too much. Let's see, what did you write? What did you write? By the way, and... So good. So good. So good.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Oh, right. Yeah. Well, I have to say, I feel like in the... We didn't do that well. You did great. You got Scarlet Johansson. You got that one. You did not get Dale Midkiff, which... I think he was, though. You did know he was. He was very close. I'll tell you one thing that you love each other.
Starting point is 00:33:35 That's cool. All right. Thank you, Heather and Terry. Catch the Real Housewives of Orange County. on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. and on Peacock, and we'll be right back. I've been on Elzbeth three times, John. Four times. I'm sorry, four times. And many other projects in which she's more directly involved is Laura Vanante.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Hi! Hi! Thank you so much for being here. Now, we have much to discuss. But also, we must discuss your appearances on the hit CBS procedural Elspeth, which is why tonight we're calling this segment you, me, and Elzbeth.
Starting point is 00:37:06 I hate you. Here's at works. I have a bunch of questions that aren't about Elspeth. Okay. Are they about fruit? There might be a couple about fruit, but we'll start with this. You're touring your stage show, nobody cares. My comedy show.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Your comedy and singing at you songs. Yeah, there's five original songs that I wrote with my songwriting partner, Todd Allman. But the rest of it is like stand up. And are there embarrassing parts of your life you didn't include? No. It's literally every embarrassing thing I've ever done so far. What's one of the most embarrassing things in the show? Probably that I've gotten married three times.
Starting point is 00:37:45 That's pretty embarrassing. So is that embarrassing? Yeah. Are you embarrassed? I mean, it was. It was until I started talking about it and laughing about it. But for sure, I know when people find out that I've been married three times, they're like, oh, wow, okay. Like the vibe instantly shifts where they're like, oh, it's a red flag for me.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Well, it is the three. Three is a lot of times. Three is a lot, but it's only one more than two. I know, but honestly, if I had only gotten divorced twice, I feel like people would be like, okay. But then I was like, I'm going to do it again. I'm going to do it a third time. It worked out. Yeah, I mean, I do think that, like, I feel like three, being married three times has, has, here's my theory.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Tell me. I'm just introducing now with the first time. I'm excited. Which is, I would say that people would treat someone who's been married three times and someone who's married four times as being in the same category and someone who's married once or twice is in the same category. And I think that that's unfair. I agree. I think being married three times is basically the same as being married two times, except there's one more time. Right. Okay. I like this math. This is girl math. Because think about it, it's like, okay, you got married
Starting point is 00:38:53 once. Yeah. It didn't go well. Right. You get married a second time. Also didn't go well. Right. But like, that's just bad luck. I think, well, I just think if you, if you get married three times and then get divorced, then you're on a fourth. That's a much bigger deal. You know what it is? When you get divorced for the first time, people feel bad for you. They, like, really rally around you. They're team you. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:14 You know, and then if you get divorced for a second time, like, people are still team you, but they also become team, maybe it's her. Right, right. You know. It's hard to be there for the second divorce. It's rough. And then when you're like, guess what, you guys, I'm going to get married a third time. They're just like, I got to go.
Starting point is 00:39:30 But, but, like, I know that, like, I had a long relationship. We weren't married. But it was, you know, I would say. divorce adjacent. And then I dated someone who is now my spouse. And I remember being at some point once that relationship had become a long-term relationship noticing like, oh, that's so funny. This is the same issue I had in my first relationship. I thought it was his fault. It was my fault. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's so interesting. But I feel like you know yourself more. Well, the good news is nothing was my fault. Oh, that's so cool. I reflect back and I go, no, no, it's for me.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Oh, that must be so nice. What a great way to go through life. It's so nice. My therapist agrees. So, now, your Malani impression on Colbert was a joy. Thank you. But she has really receded these days. We're seeing less of Maloney. Do you miss her?
Starting point is 00:40:19 No. All right. You also hosted the Jimmy Awards, which are like the Tonys for high school theater productions. As a kid, you loved doing theater, but your parents didn't let you audition professionally. No. Were they right?
Starting point is 00:40:36 Yes. I mean, I thought at the time, like, they just didn't want to let me conquer the world. I wish I had brought this picture with me, John. I will send it to you. But I've never looked like a child or been a child. I was born like a 45-year-old gay man and a little girl's body. And I, at 11 years old, looked like I could be an actual grandma. And so I realized my parents didn't let me audition because they knew that I would be rejected for every single thing I ever did.
Starting point is 00:41:01 So they were, you're going to see it. It's in my show. I know. I don't believe that. But you had, you were going to, but then you had success once you started auditioning. When I was 18, if I had auditioned for Annie and I was like five foot eight, like huge boobs, they're like, no thank you. You know? Elspeth is coming back in a few weeks.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Oh, boy, here we go. We're here. Are we going to see more Laura Benanti on Elspeth this season? Maybe. I would like to see more of your character. I know. It's so great. This is what I'm pitching.
Starting point is 00:41:31 I think that Nadine becomes her like de facto detective and best friend. Yes. I feel like they are so cute together. It's so good. It's my favorite relationship. It's a great idea. And obviously you have, so I think obviously sort of an interest.
Starting point is 00:41:44 But I also, I personally, we have an objective party, think it would be good for the show. I agree. I think people love that character. Now, you... You got a lot of cards.
Starting point is 00:41:53 I know. It's too many cards. Well, because I have my Elspeth questions separate from my non-Elspeth questions. And I meant to do more Elspeth questions at the beginning. So your character on Elsbeth. Nadine is not the same character
Starting point is 00:42:05 you played on The Good Wife. No. Despite the show Elsbeth being a spinoff of the good fight, which is itself a spinoff of the good wife. Right. No, I just played a murderer on the good wife. Right. But then, oh, so you couldn't, that's why you had to have a new character when you went over to Ellsbeth because they didn't want you to be a murderer. They wanted you to be someone who could continue to be in the program. I believe so. Huh.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Yeah. Good question. Hey, you were in Gypsy with Patty Lippone. I was. I love a smattering. Thank you. Weird level. I think you should think you should have sat silently or done more.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Yeah. I'm going to tell her. I'm actually going to tell her. You guys didn't clap for her. It's funny that you're going to regret that. It's funny that you say that like you were, you know, like you didn't seem like a kid. I was never a child. Because you were playing a character, Louise, that actually is sort of the opposite, right?
Starting point is 00:42:55 It's a character that goes from being kind of someone unsuspecting and not childlike but kind of not. She was a literal child. Little child at the beginning, but like not having stage presence. Right. She's not the one. She's a star. Then you become the star. What was the Patty Lepone experience?
Starting point is 00:43:09 She's incredible. She's one of my favorite people on this earth. She makes me laugh so hard. She's such a hard worker. She, you know, she gets a bad rap. She's 100% Sicilian from Long Island. What do you think? She's not going to yell at you?
Starting point is 00:43:23 Come on. That's on you. Yeah, she does now, like, I think people, like, she's had moments where, like, she was, like, she yelled at somebody for taking the photos during that thing. Like, she's had these moments where she's gotten some negative attention. But then also, I think, there's a part of us that's a little bit like kind of, I don't know, missing that kind of toughness from actors.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Like old school broad. Yeah. Yeah. And she brings that. She brings it. We could not be more opposite. Like, I, you know, bump into a wall and apologize to the wall. Like, you know, the thing I talk about in my show is being like a recovering people
Starting point is 00:43:55 pleaser. Patty has never tried to please a human one single day in her life. If I could have a fraction of what, of the confidence she has to just be in herself. and be like, you don't like me? That's your problem. It's incredible. Yeah. I'm jealous. Well, it's funny because I'm very non-confrontational, except when there's, when I'm mad, I can be very, like, I struggle. I struggle to like, it's interesting. I feel like sometimes I'm kind of a pad of the
Starting point is 00:44:20 opponent. Sometimes I'm more like a Laura Binanti. Yeah. Two wolves, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Two sides of the same coin. Elsbeth is always carrying around a lot of bags in the show. Yeah. But they're all clearly empty. Do you think that's a problem? That they're empty?
Starting point is 00:44:37 They're not. Well, I think canonically they're not, but I think like they look empty in the production. They don't, like, why? Like, they're not, they don't look heavy enough. She's always carrying so many big bags, but like, to what end? To what end, Al's Beth? Let me tell you something about Carrie Preston. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:44:54 She makes sure there's stuff in those bags. Really? Absolutely. Oh, so she's just strong. She's the best. Well, she's not carrying around like bricks. She's got, you know, some papers. She's got a compact.
Starting point is 00:45:03 She's got some lipstick. she's got a banana that she'll never eat she's got stuff in there she's the best people people rave about about carrie preston she has created the kindest set i've ever been on everybody is so lovely so funny i just cannot say enough good things about her i'm a little bit in love with her you also recently said that you were in love with brandy carly oh i really am in love with brandy like like you had a genuine sexual an awakening i did like a gateway drug to lesbians so what so you're do you like a Jokes aside, like, did you learn via Brandy Carlisle that you have a genuine sexual attraction to women? I think I learned a long time ago, but just thought I was like, women are beautiful.
Starting point is 00:45:44 You know, it wasn't really like an option growing up in New Jersey in 1997 to be like, I'm also attracted to women. I think I just was like, I love my friends. And I look back now and I'm like, I really loved her. So, but no, so for me, like, I look back and I'm like, oh, Alanis Morissette. really, oh, Tori Amos. So Jagged Little Pill era. Jagged a little pill. That was something for you. Yeah. But then sitting next to my husband watching Brandy Carlyle and he went, are you okay?
Starting point is 00:46:15 And I was like, I think I'm sexually attracted to Brandy Carlyle out. And he was like, okay, all right. Yeah. And he was like, is that news to you? And I was like, maybe? He was like, it's news to me. Well, it's funny because you're, you were growing up in Jersey. I was on Lyon. Same difference. And I, like, when I was a kid, it really was just, gay or straight. There wasn't really a discussion about gender identity. Totally. And it was always that if you were a boy who said that you were by, you were on your way to being gay, and if you were a girl who was by, you were just on your way to being straight. Absolutely. Yeah. I think that that is very true. And even like, even the idea of saying, like, I'm by, I feel like I'm being fake or something. I feel like
Starting point is 00:46:56 lesbians go like, boo! You know? That sounds like them. But not at a Brandy Carlyle show. which has much more of a theater kid lesbian energy, which is a different style of lesbian. That is true. But yeah, I definitely, I'm in a moment now. Love it where I'm thinking about stuff. Yeah, you got it.
Starting point is 00:47:14 That's good. I'm thinking about it. That's good. Yeah, but I love my husband very, very much. He's amazing. And good, because you simply cannot get divorced again. I cannot. Even if he's a murderer.
Starting point is 00:47:22 No, you're in. You're in. We're locked in. We have two kids. That's great. So now you're, yeah. It all worked out. So you're staying together for the kids is your point.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Obviously. Uh-huh. Yeah, yeah. Now, in the good wife, good fight. Randy and I will adopt. In the Good Wife, Good Fight universe, there is a parody of Potsave of America called America Goes Potty. That's real. That's real.
Starting point is 00:47:41 It seems like there's a glaring omission that there hasn't been a love at or leave its spinoff in the Ellsbeth universe. It's almost as if no one's even considered it. I'm going to bring that up at the meeting. So wait, the show is going to be in Costa Mesa, Boston, Arlington, and you're touring. You're taking this thing out. Yeah, I'm here now. The reason I'm here is I'm doing my show at the Wallace. from October 1st through the 4th.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Great. And then I go to Costa Mesa. And then I go to Boston. And then we're figuring out some more dates in the new year. When I saw Gypsy with Audra McDonald, Oprah came. What?
Starting point is 00:48:15 It was the last performance. We saw the very last performance and Oprah came. Oh, my God. Oprah. You were blessed. You were blessed by Betty Goddess is that day. And then one person stood up and like turned
Starting point is 00:48:24 to just took a picture of Oprah. And everyone's like, shut up. Don't do that. Don't do that. Let Oprah enjoy the fucking show. During the show. No, no, no, it was like when she was like kind of moving it at somebody, either intermission or at the end, someone like snapped a picture. Can I tell you a story about my daughter, which I'm so proud of her? She's nine now, but we went to see a show called Suffs on Broadway, and it was the opening night.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Hillary Clinton was there. And my daughter was like, just turned seven. And I was like, Ella, come here. I'm going to take a selfie with Hillary Clinton in the background. And she goes, Mom, don't do that. And I was like, why? And she was like, why? And she was like, you need to ask her. Like, that's not okay to take a picture of someone when they don't know. And I was like, yes. She also said to me, she was like, I think I'm just going to start saying they for everyone because you never know. She's nine. That's cool. I think that's, I feel good about this generation. We did it.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Oh, God, we did. I feel better. I feel better. And you'll feel better if you see Lorbenanti show. Go to Lorbenanti.com to get tickets and go check it out. It's called. It's called Nobody cares. Nobody cares.

Starting point is 00:50:26 That's helixleep. love it for 27% offsite wide. Helixleep.com slash love it. I'm Nate Silver. I'm Gailen Drook. And I'm Claire Malone. We're back. This time with our friends at Crooked Media
Starting point is 00:50:39 for a new show called Still Counting. Yeah. Numbers are hard. It takes her easy. And frankly, numbers have only gotten harder. What does the data actually cite? How do we reconcile that with the other things that we're seeing in American politics and around the world? And how do we use that data to understand?
Starting point is 00:50:58 or maybe even dare to predict the future of American politics. New episodes every Wednesday starting September 9th. Subscribe to Stillcounting on YouTube.com slash at Stillcounting podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Time to switch gears and drive headlong into our next segment, the rant wheel. Laura Heather, Terry, we will each get 60 seconds on the clock to scream and cry about a topic of our choosing. Let's spin the wheel to find out who goes first. We've never cracked the purpose of the wheel.
Starting point is 00:51:35 We're all going to go. Dr. Terry Debrough, what do you got? I can't stand people not taking care of the noise they make. I can't stand. You're in an airplane and two people are talking and they're just talking really loud and you're right next to them. Somebody's on their phone and they're playing YouTube.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Put in your earphones. Be aware of your noise pollution. That bothers me more than anything. You know what I mean? Yes. People have gotten very oblivious. Yes. They're in their own universe, including the sounds that they're making all the time. I do think that that's true.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Yeah, that bothers me incredibly. People using their phones and just playing things on their phones in public as if it's the same as having a conversation, it's not. It's digital. It sounds different. It hurts the ear. You know, you hear the, like if you're in a restaurant, someone's having a conversation at the table next to you, fine.
Starting point is 00:52:26 That's being people. We're all people in the world. That's great. Good. Life. Nice. But then they're watching a video and it's like, it just is a little bit off. It just hurt you hear it. It kind of hurts
Starting point is 00:52:33 the soul a little bit. And this is totally politically incorrect, but the table next to you, you're eating a little bit early at the restaurant and they have the little kid watching the iPad. Turn it off. I can't stand. Watch their kid for them. Go to a different restaurant. I have four.
Starting point is 00:52:51 All right, let's burn it again. All right. Timeer. All right, this is very niche. For me, it's lifeguards and full sweatsuits at the beach. Like, by the time you take off a full sweatsuit, I will have drowned. I think we all know it takes a full minute to take off a thick, hooded sweatshers. It takes millions of tries.
Starting point is 00:53:14 You're choking yourself. It's embarrassing. By the time you actually get it off, I don't want you to save me. I don't want to be seen with you. And then, like, and also, like, why are you so cold? I'm literally in the water because I'm risking my life because it is too warm. Like, get your thyroid checked. And then before the lifeguarding community comes after me to be like, it's so I don't
Starting point is 00:53:34 get sunburned. Wear a beautiful robe. We're like a flowing robe. And then when you jump off your chair, it's flowing behind you like a majestic bird, it is an honor and a privilege to be saved by you. That's such an important point. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Because by the way, when you're taking the hoodie off, you're losing vision. You can't see me. I am dead. The riptide has taken you. Why are you weird? Zip it. Why do you have one that you have to take over your sick?
Starting point is 00:53:57 No, it's got to be zipped. It's got to be zipped. Also, you're fine. You're fine. Such an important point. Not enough people are talking about this. I know. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Let's spin it again. Well, I think it probably MW. Never crack the wheel. We're on your 10 of the show. Heather, what we got? Well, mine was a good segue from Terry's because my rant that I had thought about
Starting point is 00:54:19 was Starlink. Okay, let's talk about Wi-Fi and Starlink. Everyone wants their Wi-Fi. My Wi-Fi doesn't work. My Wi-Fi is bad. The Wi-Fi's terrible here. I'm sorry I'm dropping your call. I can't do my Zoom.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Starlink, fabulous. You could talk anywhere, anytime, including an airplane. Do you know how irritating it is to have someone talk on an airplane to their daughter? Okay, so... You're rolling calls on the flights, Terry?
Starting point is 00:54:45 No, no, he is that guy. We are on the plane. He is talking to our daughter. I once sat... We were in St. Bart, not relatable. I'm sorry. Go with me. We're in St. Bart.
Starting point is 00:54:55 The woman is in the water with her phone on the Starlink yelling to her friend for Twet. look at the water. Get her a ticket. Wait, Terry, are you on your headphones when you're doing this? It doesn't matter. He speaks so loudly.
Starting point is 00:55:13 They could hear him in coach. You know what? I want you to know something. Obviously, we all knew that you weren't in coach. And I was... Never assume. You could probably assume that one. But I appreciate that at the end there.
Starting point is 00:55:31 Yeah. The other, one thing that's, I, we went on like a, to Mexico for a couple days just to like, at a resort and just looking around this like, this chilling feeling of just looking around and seeing everyone on their phones sitting at this pool. And I was like, and I, like, I obviously, you know, was well up on my high horse because I was reading a physical book. Paper? Paper. Paper, physical book. I'm not, yeah, of course. Yeah, I was like going to read my physical novel. And it's like, look at all these people on their phone. but it did make me sad. It's like, hey, if you're scrolling here, then you didn't need to come here. And I'm not judging you. You live how you want to leave. Yes, you are.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Judge you way. Am I, I guess no, I'm not, because I, yeah, you're right, I am judging. But it's a concert, but it's like a concert too. Yeah, I feel that way too. We were just as Celine Dion. I'm telling you it was a C of people with their phones up. I'm like, take two seconds, fine. Not on Broadway, baby.
Starting point is 00:56:25 We don't let you have your phones. Hey, was that thing, that frozen body thing she had real? Yes or no? What? Stiff person syndrome. Oh, it's real. Okay. Oh, definitely.
Starting point is 00:56:34 I'm sorry. Questioning Celine? Nope. Nope. Wow, the shade. You passed my test because we all know stiff person syndrome is very real, and they found the cure. They did?
Starting point is 00:56:46 No, I think she's still suffering from it. I think she's probably just in remission or doing better. You're a bad person. You're definitely wanting to cut this part out. No, leave it in. Teach me. I need to learn. This is about accountability.
Starting point is 00:57:02 I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I'm calling you. I'm really sorry. I'm really sorry. The legion of Celine fans. I'm really sorry. Her heart will go on.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Our hearts will go on. Let's spin it again. What? My rant is about the fake disease known as stiff body. No, here's what I wanted to talk about. I'm going to do two really short ones. Number one. Hotels, they should have do not disturb signs.
Starting point is 00:57:32 or nothing. They cannot have one piece of paper that on one side says do not disturb, and the other side says disturb, especially when it is incomprehensible, like idioms. I was just at this hotel, one side said don't, the other side said pet. And I had to go up to a person and say, does this mean both sides mean don't come in as in don't pet, or does pet mean clean? And we just, it was there was a language barrier and I just moved on. Oh, also, this ice coffee thing, can you bring an ice coffee to a job interview and some people are like say of course and it's no big deal and other people say it's a bad sign. I am someone that would bring an ice coffee to a job interview and that would be a red flag about the problems that it would be created by hiring me. And I think more people should admit that they
Starting point is 00:58:17 would do it and that it would be obvious they shouldn't be hired. I am one of those people. Thank you. Wait, what's the problem with bringing ice coffee to a... So some people, this is what the debate is. There's people that there was a recruiter who was saying don't bring an ice coffee to a job interview because in a very competitive job market, it will portray that maybe you're casual and not taking it seriously enough, not nervous enough for the interview, not professional enough, because it's really a time when you're supposed to be just focused and not kind of bringing a little drink that you're
Starting point is 00:58:42 sipping along the way. Something to that effect. That is odd to bring a beverage into your meeting. Well, what about water? No. You walk in. No, you walk in and they go, can we get you something? And you say, yes. Yes, I'd like a water, but you don't bring in your, like, big adwala bottle. Right. I think it's more that, right. And then, now some people then responded,
Starting point is 00:59:01 well, I don't think there's anything wrong with bringing an ice coffee to a job interview, and I would hire someone who would bring ice coffee to a job interview. But this was also about like corporate, like Fortune 500 companies where maybe they're a bit more buttoned up. You're going to apply to a place where people have ice coffees all the time. And their job interviews is a different place. Like Starbucks.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Right. Well, Starbucks. Yeah, you got to. Sort of weird to bring a coffee to an interview out of Starbucks. Actually, a different kind of red flag. When you think of it, it's like you brought an outside coffee to Starbucks for an interview. You're like, it's bitter. I think we all know.
Starting point is 00:59:27 It's a little bit. It's a little bit. It's a little bit. I don't have to drink it to make it. And that's the rain wheel. And we're back. If individual podcast episodes could win an egon, tonight's show would be, unlike would be Goldberg, though, I always have room for improvement. What an insane intro.
Starting point is 00:59:44 Because she has an eGOT, I guess. I forgot that. Anyway, it's time for second thoughts. Here's how it works. The producers have written all the ways in which they felt I could have done a better job. No way. Yeah. And in real time, I'm going to run you through some of the places where I could have improved.
Starting point is 00:59:58 If you have places where in this show you wish you had done something differently, this would be a good space. Now, obviously, I don't need to look at this card. the stiff person syndrome did come after they handed me the cards. So I'll go ahead and assume you would have written it down. And I want to just say, to camera, I am sorry. I genuinely regret. I know it seems like I'm being funny and I don't mean it. I do mean it.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Too late. No, I think you mean it. I saw it in your eyes. It's over for you. It's over. Enjoy your last show. Let's see. I'm sorry about the joke about the Challenger.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see. During your segment, I said the phrase, Injected with Corpse Meat. That was funny. That was good.
Starting point is 01:00:45 I like that. I like that. I also introduced the phrase grass-fed people. That's also fun. I thought that was funny, too. That was one of my favorite jokes. I'm sorry that I told Heather that she could fuck her Sliberty crush, and I'm sorry for her crush that I called him not famous.
Starting point is 01:01:01 Oh, God. The second part, I agree. I would agree with that. The first part, I thought that was... Oh, I didn't ask Heather about the state of her relationship with Vicki. Oh. How are you in Vicky? I mean, I think our relationship has always been exactly the same.
Starting point is 01:01:16 Like, we'll see each other, we're great. We have fun together, and then she goes out and talks about me in the world. How do you deal with that? I drink a lot. You do? Well, great. Yeah. I feel sad.
Starting point is 01:01:30 You're so nice. Thanks. I'm like, who could be mean to you? This is my first season. Oh, this has been a season. I believe you, and I feel sad. And guess what? I'm on your side.
Starting point is 01:01:39 I don't know them. Never seen them in my life. But guess what? Fuck them. Thank you. I knew I liked you the moment I met you. Usually when people say, oh, everyone's not nice to me because of jealousy, I actually do think in your case it's just so clearly true.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Like, you're such a charming, winning person who's also, like, kind of competent and good at things and happy and in a good life and has all these. It's like, it's like, be frustrating. The truth is, like, as you know, you can't change people, right? You can only change your reactions to them. I'm totally oversensitive, and sometimes, you know, I just am. But I think as I've gotten older, I try to get better about that. I also, I got to say I appreciate your, like, self-awareness.
Starting point is 01:02:26 As you guys were talking about, you know, having a level of sort of fame and well, that most people do not. There didn't feel like bragging. It felt like this is your reality. And you were like very self-aware about it. It never made me go like, ooh. We're also insanely grateful. Like we've worked really hard.
Starting point is 01:02:49 We have as many people do. And we have what we have, but we are very grateful. No, I like it. I like you guys. This ultimate girl shows in my first exposure to Vicky. And I feel like the politics are like people talk about her policy. The kind of like conservatism is coming out in this sort of like, I don't know. Like there's something about the like, there's like a negativity that feels political to me.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah, she did make a comment about us once that we were too liberal to be on Orange County. That's wise. Wow. Guys, I'm doing my show in Orange County and I'm a little scared. No, it's great. You love it. Are they going to yell at me? No. Or playing Melania?
Starting point is 01:03:27 No. I feel like they're going to hate me. Will you tell them not to yell at me? No, they like Melania there. I know. That's the point. I'm not like I love her. It's an homage.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Is it? Or is it a brutal scuring? Why aren't you going with me? I'm sorry. Just tell them not to yell at me. Hey, I want to just say to you clearly that it's not like we didn't invite you on because you're on Ellsbeth. That was like a fun coincidence.
Starting point is 01:03:51 No, no, no, no. We were excited. You were on the show and then I went, oh, she's also on Elzbeth. Let's see, I said I'm not confrontational except when I'm mad when Elspeth. would I be confrontational? You know what? That's a good point. I'm sorry for trying to force love it or leave it
Starting point is 01:04:08 into Elspeth, but please do tell them. I will. I absolutely will. I pretended someone else took a picture of Oprah. I didn't. Do you have any regrets about tonight? Yeah, I regret that I didn't pick someone
Starting point is 01:04:25 more famous to fuck. I have to... No, not you. I mean, like, my whole path. I knew exactly what she meant. I knew exactly what she meant. I knew exactly what she meant. Terry's got a new regret.
Starting point is 01:04:48 We all know. Well, I have only one regret, which is that this show has to end. And that's our show. Thank you so much to Dr. Terry Debrough, Heather Debrough, and Laura Benanti. There are 34 days until the midterms. We'll be back on Friday with Barry Diller, the mogul.
