If I showed up at your house unannounced with a suitcase, would you be happy?
That's an odd way to frame it.
Would you be happy?
Well, you just said when your boy showed up, you were happy.
Well, because that wasn't out of his character.
That would be totally out of your character.
I would be kind of concerned.
It would be out of my character.
I'd be like, are you okay, dog?
Like, you definitely got a spot.
if you need a spot.
But I think that would indicate that I'm probably not okay.
In which case, I would need help.
I would be like, what's up, though?
You're right, man?
And you wouldn't be.
And because you came to Houston.
That was wrong, though.
Yeah, I missed my flight out of layover.
Welcome back to macro dosing.

Okay, we're back.
It is October 15th,
and we got everybody here on the show today.
A lot to talk about,
lots of get to.
We got baseball game two happened last night.
Unfortunately, the Guardians did not win.
But, I mean, you're one, one going back to Cleveland,
so that's good.
Yeah.
That's what we,
I would have been very happy with that two days ago
after watching last night's performance.
We could have been going back to O,
which kind of stings.
But series is split, best of five.
Yep.
Long series.
And then in more important news, potentially,
me and Big T have a serious issue on our hands.
Yeah, your people are really doing the most right now.
It just got real.
real between Big T and myself.
The Smoky statue in downtown Knoxville has been...
No, it's on campus.
I think it was the one right next to me.
They have...
I think they put these up my senior year.
There's like seven or eight of them all around campus.
Okay, so it's a on-campus statue of Smokey, the mascot of the Tennessee volunteers.
Yes.
It has been decapitated.
Yeah, that happened on Saturday, I think.
Or people discovered it on Saturday when they showed up.
It is disgusting.
It's a picture.
I'm looking at a picture right now of the statue.
Its head is in the middle of the sidewalk.
Somebody took this thing out.
And I don't know what Big T's heard, what his news sources are, but I did hear earlier this morning that this might concern me.
What I've heard, you're, I think, are you saying that I'm, I'm acting on, on background
info? The UT
Police tweeted out who they arrested.
I don't know what you've heard. I'd like to hear
the official sources. Okay, I will read you
the tweet from the University of Tennessee Police
Department. U.T.PD has
charged Beckett E. Noctman,
19 of New Jersey, with
felony vandalism in connection with damage done
to the Smoky Statue outside gate 21
on October 10th. Noctman is
not affiliated with UT and was visiting
individuals on campus at the time of the incident.
Now, a cursory
Google search of Beckett E. Knoxman.
will lead you to his LinkedIn profile, which reads, one moment, please, civil engineering student at James Madison University, construction field intern at state line construction, seeking summer 2027 construction management or field engineering internship.
Okay.
First of all, I'm going to wait for all the facts to come out.
Okay.
I haven't seen any video of this.
I haven't seen any photographic evidence.
All I'm going off of right now is what you're telling.
telling me from a screenshot. So do you have any evidence? No. I have what the UT police have
concluded. Innocent until proven guilty? That's that is the law of the land. Is it not Big
T? Sure. Okay. Well, I'd like to see some evidence before I jump to conclusions. And number two,
it sounds like this is a New Jersey problem. Not a Virginia problem. The guy's from New Jersey.
Well, he lives in Virginia 10 months out of the year. You don't wave a magic wand.
Once you move from New Jersey to Virginia, you don't become a gentleman overnight.
It takes some time.
We're working on them best we can.
So if found that this is true, what do you think should happen?
I think that he should go back to New Jersey.
I think that that's a New Jersey situation.
I mean, is this a statue a big deal?
I don't think it's a big deal until you decapitate it.
Once you decapitate it, now it's a big deal.
You made it a big deal.
Yeah.
My official-
You just created a million smokies.
My official response to this is
why don't she settle it on the field?
Why don't you schedule us?
Schedule us in football.
Coward?
Well, they do those like 12 years out.
You can always make changes to the schedule.
That's fine.
I mean, I don't do the schedule.
I'd love to play J.M.
I would love to play against Tennessee.
Nobody will schedule us.
That's the problem.
No big schools will want us on campus.
I'll do you one better.
I'll do you two for one.
You come to Neeland twice and we'll go play one at Bridgeforth.
You know what?
you got a deal but also
this just might be the way that we have to force our
force good teams to play us
this just might be the start
this volonious activity
the statute decapitations will continue
until somebody schedules us
who's the next victim
it could be anybody it could be any school
it could be what other schools have statues of their mascots on campus
Penn State
Oh no there's together Joe pa
Harry took that one down.
Yeah.
Well, they get rid of statues like, you know,
willy-nilly.
Revely?
From A&M, is there a Revely statue?
Florida's they got a, what's his name?
Bowden,
Bowden, Bowden, Bowden.
Yeah.
Well, you're naming people.
You know, he has a statue.
I know, but we're talking about the mascot.
You go go big.
I think there's a, Arkansas has a big pig statue, I think.
Okay.
Well, that might be next.
I doubt that our.
Arkansas is going to want to play this. Yeah, probably wouldn't be smart for them right now.
Mm-hmm. I don't. They don't really want to play anybody. So you're on the side of Beckett.
I'm on the side of whatever it takes to write an injustice. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
What did Smokey do? Smokey happens. What if he did it to the real dog? Would you disavow?
Yes. Yes. Smokey happens to be an innocent bystander. The statue of Smokey is an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a battle that's much
bigger than itself.
I would care a lot more about this if there were only one statue.
There's another one like right up the hill.
It's around the corner.
But if this was the only one, I'd be very mad.
I would be too if I were you.
But I mean, the statue, it looks like it's fairly recent, like a new statue.
It looks clean.
Actually, it's a really good looking statue.
I'll be honest.
Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen it.
They're pretty new.
It was like maybe tail end of when I was in college.
If there was any tradition behind this statue, I'd feel a lot worse about it.
But you know what?
There's a decade of tradition.
Okay.
Well, there's multiple.
Seven, eight years.
There's another smoky statue waiting to take its place.
This is expendable.
Yeah.
Like I said, if that was the only one, we'd have more of an issue.
And just know that if you attend a power conference school anywhere in America and you have a statue of your mascot somewhere on campus.
Not the actual animal, not the actual mascot.
But if there's a statue of it,
just know that it might be in danger unless you schedule JMU football.
Do you think it's smart to do this with JMU probably seeking an invite to a power conference at some point?
Oh, buddy, we are the power conference.
Right.
Let me tell you about the power moves that JMU has made in the last week.
And I know that nobody is sick of hearing me talk about JMU sports.
But we just moved to the, we're moving to the American conference.
Notably not a power league.
Not a power league, but it's solidly going to be the best of the non-fews.
power leagues.
Yes.
Once JMU goes there, it's arguably the best already.
It's just going to get stronger.
So I'm actually very much looking forward to the new rivalries there and playing against
Navy, playing against Memphis, playing against U.N.T, Tulane, like really good schools.
And it's not like the Sunbelt historically has good football programs too, but it's been like
a down three or four years for the Sunbelt.
So I'm looking forward to that.
But the news that I saw yesterday is that JMU is, you know,
is bringing our own sponsors to the American conference.
So we reached out to the American.
We've been in touch with them for the last year or so.
And there are reportedly a couple of major sponsors
that want to sponsor the American conference
under the condition that they let JMU in,
which is pretty, it's a good spot to be in.
That's a power move.
Where it's a power move.
And I'm speculating that it's probably Lockheed Martin
that is trying to sponsor the American conference.
but they're like we're not going to do it unless you let J.MU in because the CEO of Lockheed is a J.MU.
alumni. I believe their former CEO is also a J.MU. Alumni.
Wow.
So we're pretty much saying like, hey, if you don't let JMEU in, the military is going to issue sanctions against the American conference.
Does this make J.MU an honorary service academy?
I don't want to steal valor. It sure sounds like it.
It sure sounds like a big team.
The fourth academy? You guys can win the commander in chiefs trophy?
I mean, you'll play Army and Navy now.
We should be eligible for it.
We're the military industrial complex school.
Right.
Which is real easy to root for.
So, yeah, I mean, that's pretty much in the military.
Although it might be true that you might see some people transfer out of Army or Navy
to get paid more money playing for JMU,
which would be just perfect for the whole like military to civilian oversight pipeline that we have in real life, too.
Yeah.
So yeah, it looks like that's what James you did.
I'm speculating that it's Lockheed Martin.
I'm seeing that it kind of adds up.
Grumman CEO Kathy Warden attended James Madison.
I screw that up.
Yes, it's Northrop Grumman, not Lockheed Martin.
My bad.
They're the same thing.
They're not the same.
They're not the same.
I don't want to get into it.
Lockheed Martin.
They do like the F-22.
Lockheed makes cooler planes.
Well, Northropan doesn't make planes, right?
Grumman has a long history of making excellent planes.
Grumman, before it was Northrop Grumman, made the F-14, Tomcat.
Do they still make planes?
That was in Top Gun, the original.
They do still make planes.
I'm trying to remember what planes they currently make under the Northrop Grumman name.
Oh, yeah, they do the bombing fleet.
I'm seeing the B-21 Raider, which we don't really know anything about yet, besides it looks a lot like to B-2.
So the iconic stealth bomber, the flying Dorito, that's north of Grumman.
Okay, that's a sick plane.
Mm-hmm.
They make missiles, radar.
They build the centrifugee fuselage for the Lockheed Martin F-35.
So they do work in conjunction with Lockheed Martin.
But you sounded like you like Lockheed more.
I like the F-22.
Got it.
Yeah, I do.
That's hand up.
I do.
But yeah, screw that one up.
It's Northrop Grum.
Not Lockheed Martin.
Northrop Grumman is the school that JMU is potentially bringing in as a sponsor.
So what else we got going on in the world?
I mean, that's a pretty big one right there.
There's, I'm glad that justice is being served, but I look at this guy like it's almost civil disobedience.
Is he a hero of yours?
He could be, yeah.
Wow.
He could be.
I'm also going to wait until all the facts to come out.
I'm not judging him guilty just yet.
Okay.
Has everyone seen the Kelly Clarkson footage?
I did see the Kelly Clarkson footage, yes.
What do we think?
I would like to have audio.
I would as well.
It looks like she is, it looks like she gets mad first.
I agree.
But in the situation that she describes,
I think she would be the one that gets upset first, right?
Like if you watch Pretty Woman.
It seems to me, and we don't have the audio,
It seems to me she sees the bird that's not for sale
Says I want that bird
That guy says oh sorry that bird's not for sale
But here's the guy who makes it
And he can make you one
Or we have this other bird
And then she thinks he's calling her poor
Yeah
Can I interest you in another in a different bird?
And I think the other bird was like two grand
It was not a
A reasonably cheap bird
And then she storms off
And she, she, like, yelled at the cashier for, and then one of the guys did a press conference yesterday outside the shop and he said Kelly Clarkson has put us all in danger, which is objectively hilarious.
That's, that is very funny. It's turned into an even better story, I think, the more that we dig into it.
I don't know who to trust. I'll be honestly big to you. I don't know who to trust in this situation.
It might have been a little bit of both.
I think there was a misunderstanding. Yeah.
Which led to some tweeting.
Yep. And now we're here.
This is why you never win when.
you complain about something like this online?
Yeah.
No, I'll take that back.
I think there can be,
there can be small wins that you can have.
But if you're somebody that's like Kelly Clarkson's level of fame
and you're going after a small business,
it's very rare that you will have people take your side and feel sympathetic for you.
Do you think she still feels good about tweeting it?
She's like, I would tweet that again.
I don't think she does.
I think she might have a couple days ago,
just be like,
You have to stand for something.
When the immediate aftermath, she was getting praised.
Yeah.
And she was like, I had to stand up for myself.
Yes, Queen.
I'll tell you what, though, man.
Now I don't think so.
Without Kelly Clarkson, this store was popping.
This has traffic in here.
Like, I'm sure it's really cracking right now.
Yeah.
You see like the Y view?
Like, this shit is busy as fuck.
Yeah.
It's definitely, I'm definitely on her.
It's not to see the video, though.
I think it's, I think it's.
Yeah.
I think it was a miscommunication.
She interpreted the salesperson not really paying that close attention to or not really caring about what she was asking about into the salesperson being like actively rude.
I think most salespeople, I don't want to say most salespeople, but it's not uncommon for a salesperson to be actively disinterested in helping somebody coming in the store asking for stuff that you usually don't get asked about.
They're just trying to get through their day.
I think she just looks a little entitled right here.
Yeah.
I mean, dudes answer her questions, and then she just like, she can't take it.
It's like, what do you mean?
What I mean?
That's what I'm like me.
One up for the store for me, my book.
I think there was a misunderstanding, and she was the one who misunderstood.
Yep.
Yep.
I think it's fair.
And then she took it to a level need not be.
It's like, to me, it's like when people are rude to waiters,
even if a waiter's rude to you,
I still think you in the wrong.
Like, and the reason why is because
I just understand their plight.
Nobody wants to get up and serve people all day,
and it's a tough job,
and sometimes people are assholes to you.
And after a while, it's just like,
you having a bad day?
I understand that, though.
I get that.
You ain't going to mess up my vibe.
I understand that you're going to go and through something.
though. I just tend to treat like, uh, workers, like, with the utmost respect.
Because they do shit that like, I, I, I couldn't, I couldn't do this. I couldn't, I couldn't do it.
So I respect them a little more. She tripping here, in my opinion. I agree with that. If, if I run
to a waiter or a server that's like going out of their way to be rude, which I mean, I don't,
I can't remember if that's happened where I've been like personally offended by like the service
at a restaurant. But if it happened, I think I would just be like, well, this sucks and I wouldn't go back.
Yeah. Even that, I even if the food was good, I would definitely go back. Like, I've never been
like outright, like, disrespect it. But like, you can tell somebody I've been short with me
or something like that. But I'm like, that shit, don't bother me like that. I don't know.
Vibes too high. Yeah. Yeah. If you let that get you down, it means that your your vibes are
compromised. Compromised.
Compromised vibes.
Yeah, the structural integrity of your vibes is not what it should be
if it's weak enough for a bad interaction with a server to
break them. Absolutely.
That'd be a good name for an album, Compromised Vives.
Yeah. Good point.
I don't know what kind of music.
EDM.
Yeah.
I'm reading that Sean Diddy Combs has a head injury
So I saw that right as we finished recording the other day
But it seemed like he'd already been returned to the prison
And was like relatively fine
So he had an injury
I think so
You no longer has an injury
Well I'm sure he's still banged up
But
They were talking at the beginning like he might die
And then it was like, oh, no, he's back at the prison.
He's fine.
There's a Jamaican drug kingpin who goes by the name Dutus or Duddis.
His real name is Christopher Koch.
You should have just stuck with that.
I don't know why this guy needed a nickname.
I mean, he needed to hide it.
Chris Cope.
That would have been one of those things where you, if the cops eventually catch him,
they're like, I should know when it was you the whole time.
And he'd have been like, or he could deny it.
Come on that way.
Look at my name.
why would I engage?
Right.
They said that the two got into a fight
because Diddy was exposed
for having a luxurious life behind bars
and prison officials conducted two raids,
confiscated cell phones from all inmates.
So everybody on the block sounds like paid the price
for Diddy flexing that he had access
to all this cool stuff when he was in prison.
And then sounds like he caught a beatdown.
So both
guys got put into the shoe
Special Housing Unit
Solitary for two weeks
punishment
and Diddy was already in there
I'm seeing that he was already in the shoe
after the NBC report
And then the fight went down
When they were out
When he was out for his daily break
So it sounds like he had a head injury
And I guess he's recovered
So
Does everyone in prison have a phone
Because I see guys in prison on TikTok live
All the time
Pretty common there
but like are they not scared to get it taken up and then what and then you're out of phone
you can get another one yeah but i have to imagine they're expensive i mean and that you would
get punished i can't i can't speak i've never been in jail or prison that long but from the
people that i know to have people got phones it is i i just imagine if i
had a phone, I would try to keep it on the on the low.
I mean, I have two. Yeah. I mean, but they can like they're on TikTok live.
Live is crazy. Live is a wild move. You think there's any any wardens that are also like on TikTok live just like.
They should be. They should. They should. They should curate their algorithm so that that shit pops up.
Yeah. Just search the name of your prison over and over and over. Yeah. Or just like, yeah, find, um,
All you should look at should be either TikTok lives or just prison TikToks.
And then the algorithm will learn that that's what you want to see.
It'll start feeding more.
And then you wait until you see somebody that's under your supervision.
And then you interact with that person a lot.
And then ideally you'll get fed all the stuff from that prison.
And then you can immediately like as a, there's also the danger that if they're a good content creator, you just become a fan.
Yeah.
You're just like, listen, I, I know it's against the rules, but this guy's got great takes.
Day in my life.
Yeah.
Get ready with me.
Yeah.
It's literally you just wake up.
Yeah.
Put your jumpsuit on.
Do some push-ups.
Basketball.
I'm not inherently against them having phones, though.
I think I am.
It depends.
I mean, they have TVs in there.
They have TV.
They get phone calls.
They get compensary.
I think it depends on what you're found guilty of.
because you could then use that if you had a phone
really easy to harass victims on the outside
really easy to
conduct illegal activity
also I think a lot of them have iPads
like they're allowed to like you can buy an iPad
so the only reason you would need a phone
is to like
probably nefarious activity
yeah I think there are some that
there are a lot of inmates that I don't think I'd feel comfortable
with giving like free access to communication
with anybody that they want, but definitely some that, like, yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, yeah, maybe.
No big deal.
Yeah, maybe like smaller offenses.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, the harassing.
Yeah, that makes sense, you know.
Right, because if you're, if you're in prison for, like, a violent crime or if you have
a history of harassing, if you're in there for, like, domestic abuse and stuff, you could,
that phone would be, it would just turn into a weapon.
That's fair enough, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
We got a lot more to get into today.
I don't know what we want to get to next.
Oh, I think it's obvious.
Okay, what is it?
The movie.
You want to get into the movie?
Okay.
Your show.
Yeah, yeah, let's get into the movie.
It's our show.
It's our show, Big T.
There's a new movie coming out from screenwriter Ben Shapiro called Confession.
Some star power in this movie.
And it's not notable that it's, uh, it's,
it has to do with Ben Shapiro and his production studio because there have been a couple of other movies that have come out.
They're kind of like branching into entertainment.
So I know Daily Wire has made some movies.
Has Ben Shapiro written them?
Because I haven't seen that.
Ben Shapiro wanted to be a screenwriter.
That was his original goal when he was coming out.
And he was an author and he was trying to make it as a screenwriter and it didn't work out for him.
So this is something that he's really wanted to do for a long time.
It's his first love. It's his first love.
Yeah, it's not shocking that he would write a movie.
It is kind of shocking to see who is in the movie because it is like some A-listers in there.
Rob Lowe, James Franco.
Yep.
Nick Nolte.
Nick Nolte in it?
Yeah, I wonder if that's Nick Nolte's real voice or if he was like putting one on because he appears at the end of the trailer.
And it's the most gravely old man voice that I've ever heard.
what do you think about about the trailer for big d um it it it didn't give me a ton of the plot
it's like a world war pre world war two russian they're in like a a gulog type situation and
it's just kind of meant to look i saw somebody say that the lighting in the movie looks like a
college project film and now i can't unsee that um i'm not planning on
watching it, but I am curious what happens with it. How much did they have to pay those guys?
That's a good question. I don't know. I don't know what the budget was for it.
Roblo can't be hurting for money. Roblo should not be hurting for money. No. I don't think
Franco would be hurting for money either. Well, didn't he kind of get blackballed?
But he's made a lot of money. What has he done recently? Yeah, well, that's what I was going to ask.
What's the last thing you saw James Franco? It's been a while. What did he get blackball for?
I think he had some transgressions alleged.
I don't want to, I don't remember everything.
I don't want to minimize it, but I think it had something to do with inappropriate behavior towards women.
Okay.
Yeah, I never heard of it.
But I'm kind of talking out of my ass when I say that.
So I'm not exactly sure what it is.
Here we go.
Sexual misconduct accusations.
Yeah.
A 17-year-old girl posted screenshots of alleged messages.
from when he was 35 and she told him that she was 17.
Allegedly.
So yeah, that's not good.
That is not good.
But the movie itself, I don't know what to think of it.
I recall hearing somewhere that they weren't using like union production,
which might explain why the lighting might look off.
I think it's intentional.
It's supposed to look like.
dingy
Okay.
Because there was another movie
that was coming out
from that studio.
It's like a Western.
I don't know if it's out just yet.
But they're putting out several movies soon.
I might watch it.
It doesn't look like my kind of movie anyway,
but I am curious just if it ends up being any good.
If you have somebody wearing like a Russian or a German
or a British military uniform
and the movie is from the 1920,
through 1940s, I'm going to probably end up watching it.
That's just, that's, that's, that's my, my typical stance on things.
So I'll check this out.
I'll get, I'll give it a gander.
Comes out in November.
November 11th.
His book.
Oh, it comes out on, um, Veterans Day.
Yeah, it was, I'm saying, that Veterans Day.
Yeah, Veterans Day.
11.
11.
Yeah, his book, I've only read, egg, excerpts of it.
It's a very funny book.
I don't think it's intentionally funny.
Um, but it's, it's, it's pretty good stuff.
So, yeah, he wanted to be a,
screenwriter. I will watch it. I promise you that. I will, I will sit down for the two hours.
It's longer than two hours. I'm sorry. I'll only watch exactly two hours of this movie.
Which book? He's written quite a few books.
I read it. It was one that was from like a very long time ago.
Seems his first one was Bullies, How the Left's Culture of Fear and Intimidation silences Americans.
No, this is a fiction book. Oh. A fiction book from before he was like Ben Shapiro.
Is this true allegiance, a political thriller focusing on?
national security border crises and domestic conflicts when did that one come out
2016 no it was uh i think it was before that it might have been true allegiance it might
have been true allegiance i thought that it had come out in like 2013 2014 but i could be wrong
about that what else we got in the news today uh i found an argument occurring on the internet
and i i was fascinated by it i'm curious to get y'all's opinion uh there are a lot of people online
They're good people on both sides.
But the impetus of the argument was someone said,
it is highly inconsiderate to ever ask your friends to stay at their house.
And then some people are like, what are you talking about?
Like, I would be offended if my friends came to town and didn't ask to stay with me.
And then some people are like, this is insane.
I can't believe you would ever ask someone to stay at their house.
I think it might be a regional thing.
And I'll tell you why.
I agree with you, Big T.
When I have friends in town, I always tell them, come stay at my place.
They always ask me.
And I'm like, yeah, that's, I, I didn't say that.
The other people said that.
I love it.
I do, I would let people stay with me.
When I have friends in town, yes, they stay at my place.
Even if they've got kids that they're bringing in town, yes, stay at my place.
Like, it's, I agree, if they didn't ask, I'd be like, oh, you're in town.
You didn't even ask if you can stay at my place.
That's, that's weird.
However, in New York, it's different.
Sure.
Because a lot of people, if you've never lived in New York,
York City, you don't understand what an imposition it is to have somebody from out of town
stay with you. Well, I mean, often you just physically can. Often you physically can. And when you
physically can, it's still tough to deal with without a towner because everything's small. You share
everything in that apartment. It just, you know, the expectation is not the same as if you travel to,
if you travel to Austin and then a friend's like, oh, yeah, I'll pick you up at the airport. That doesn't,
that does not happen in New York City. No one's picking anybody up at the airport.
You don't have a car.
What?
I'm not an airport picker up kind of guy.
Even in Texas?
I'm like an hour and some change away from the airport.
So, say, hey, can you get me?
I'm like, I'll send you Uber.
I send you Uber.
That shit is a two-hour journey for me.
That makes sense if it's that far.
Yeah, I can't do it.
And I screwed that up when I started to visit New York before I ever moved up there.
This is before I worked at Barstool.
I would come up to New York every now and again if I had like a meeting.
One time I remember I was meeting with the people from Sirius Radio to see if they were
going to give me a job offer to continue doing my podcast.
So I flew up to New York.
I didn't have much money.
And I had a buddy that lived in New York.
And I was like, hey, can I stay with you?
And he was like, sure.
But he was like a little lukewarm about it.
And I was like, well, if it's a problem, I won't do it.
And he's like, no, no, it's okay.
And then I stayed at his place and I realized, like, what an imposition it was.
And I felt like a big jerk after I moved to New York.
and I realized how hard it is to have people from out of town stay with you.
I was like, well, that was a jerk move on my part because I did it.
It wasn't just one time.
I think I stayed with them two or three times, which I probably shouldn't have done.
But you don't realize that until you live there, just like how much it screws up everything
else about your life.
So in New York, I understand having people stay with you.
Maybe not the best example.
Most other places.
At what way, though, like, what way was it inconvenient?
Like, I'm just period.
I mean, your apartments are so tiny.
like it's it would be nuts to have someone stay with you like the apartment i lived in in new york i
never could have had someone stay there even if i wanted them to a lot of places unless you make a lot
of money in new york you might not even have a bedroom it just might be a studio which is all one
open room um the bathroom is really small you you could conceivably have a person stay over there
but then in the mornings when you're getting up to shower brush your teeth all that stuff
you're just there's no way to do it with two people getting ready at the same time got you
Okay, that makes sense.
Yeah, I'd never experienced it.
Yeah.
But he wouldn't.
Like, no one would unless they'd actually live there.
Yeah.
I mean, it's an experience that you can't understand unless you've done it.
This guy said, everyone in your replies was raised in a barn.
It's fine to say, oh, hey, I'm coming to so-and-so.
Do you have any advice on where I should stay and see if someone offers?
But it is absolutely classless to ask someone if you can stay with them outside of an emergency.
Now, I typically, I try, I prefer just getting a hotel just because, like, you're not in somebody's space.
Like, you have your own deal. It's easier.
But, like, it's, I don't think it's crazy to ask someone if you're going out of town, like, specifically to hang out with them.
Yeah.
I don't think it's crazy either.
I think that if, if you, like, can't afford a hotel or it would put, like, a major, major dent in your budget and you have a real friend, I don't think it's crazy to be.
like, hey, can I stay with you? And if they can't, if they honestly can't make it work,
be like, hey, now it's not going to work. It's not a good time. I also, I do. The one thing I could
see is if like you are so terrified of telling someone no, like I'll tell people no, I don't care.
Yeah. Like if I, if I don't want to do something, but like, I guess if you are petrified of having to
say no to somebody. Yeah. Like, oh, sorry, I can't. Then I guess that's a fairly reasonable argument.
But these people are saying like, it's insane of you to even.
have the thought that you could ask someone to say that.
That tells me they might not have any really close friends.
That shit is weird to me.
I just expected, like outside of the New York thing.
Like that makes sense.
But like, my partners, even if I was in New York, I'm like, pull up on the couch.
I don't even ask.
Like, I had a home boy.
I remember what I was doing the pod and a homeboy?
He just showed up and I was happy.
Like, that's just how we wrote.
Like me, Casa Suca.
This is what it is.
Yeah.
If you have a real close friend,
it's not a problem at all.
Like, you'll make it work.
And if you know that maybe it would help them out with their travel budget,
if you care about that person,
it might be a little inconvenient,
but you'll say, yeah, sure, it's not that big a deal.
Yeah.
My mom still does that.
That's what we're friends for?
She'll still be like, hey, can I stay with you?
Shut up, Bernadette.
Like, what are you talking about?
Like, you have a permanent yes for life.
Like, what do you make?
That's a dumb question, Bernadette.
If I showed up at your house unannounced with a suitcase,
would you be happy?
That's an odd way to,
frame it. Would you be happy?
Well, you just said when your boy showed up, you were happy.
Well, because that wasn't out of his character.
Carry on.
Totally out of your character.
I would be kind of concerned.
I would be out of my character.
I'd be like, are you okay, dog?
Like, you definitely got a spot if you need a spot.
But I think that would indicate that I'm probably not okay.
Yeah.
In which case, I would be like, let's go.
I would need help.
Let's go.
Let's go get some high noons or angry orchards.
Let's go talk.
I know you should stay away from a high news.
But I would be like, what's, what's up?
though.
You're right, man, and you wouldn't be.
And because you came to Houston.
That was wrong, though.
Yeah, I was, I missed my flight out to lay over.
PFT do it.
I'm going to be like, that's funny as shit.
Like, you really need a spot?
I got you, though.
I don't be funny as shit.
That means I'm laying low from something.
I would just think you'd be doing it.
You'd do it as a joke.
No, I sort of say what's up, man,
but I got a hotel in the Waldorf downtown.
Oh, shut up.
I would, uh, yeah, I don't think.
I think unless it's like a really good friend, sometimes it's fun to stay with a friend.
Like it's not, usually I would prefer to stay in a hotel, but there's other times where if I'm going to a city, like, I want to stay with a friend.
Or at the very least, what I've done in the past is like get an Airbnb that's very close to where my friend lives.
So like we're going to be hanging out all the time, but at the end of the day, might want to go back to our separate abodes.
And like if he's got to wake up early, whatever, no big deal.
I've got my own place.
I can wake up whenever I want, make myself breakfast.
No big deal.
I pulled that move a few times.
What I knew me and my friends was on the same type of time was my homeboy came to visit
me at college.
And you feel like you have to host when people come over, right?
And I was like, yo, it's anything you want to do or whatever?
He's like, nah?
He's kicking it.
And I was like, are you sure, man?
Like, I want you, like, I want you to have a good time.
I was like, dog, don't want to playstation.
I don't care.
This is kicking.
I was like, that's type of shit I'll be on.
Like, if I visit you, I don't need to be a.
to be entertained. I'm there for you. Like, this is whatever you do and I'm doing. Like,
that's the, that's the vibes I'm on. Like, so when I bring all my kids to your Michigan house,
y'all got to entertain me. Let's just go outside, stare at the water, whatever we do,
and I'm doing. Just kick it. Yeah. Kick it, man. I like it. That's a good guess to have.
Low pressure. Easy. I don't need to be entertained by other people, but I do get paranoid if I'm
on a trip and I'm not doing something that I'm like wasting time and money. Yeah.
Like I need to be doing something.
Yeah, I want to see the, I want to see the city.
And my wife is the exact opposite.
She, she could sit on a beach for 12 hours and I could go back and she'd be in the same
spot.
And I'm like, we got to go.
We got to go do something.
I understand that, especially if I'm like on a vacation, if it's like a destination,
sometimes I feel like I got to get, I got to do something to make my day, like give
it a checkmark next to it.
But if it's just like around the house, if I'm visiting a friend just to visit a friend
in a city, I'm very much just, let's just hang out.
whatever but then if i have friends that are visiting me a lot of times i feel that pressure like i have
to have something planned every day yeah which is because they probably have the same thought i do which is
like arian's friend like let's just hang out i think that's very city dependent also if you go to raleigh
north carolina just hang with your boys that's fine but if they if they come to chicago it's like
we got to go do stuff because you're in you want the chicago got to see the bean yeah well i'm not
doing that. Yeah. That's the most overrated. That's what I've,
adding that to my list. A little foreshadowing, but that's what I've kind of come to notice.
Every time I visit a new city and my people are there, we've been there like, the better
experience to me is hanging out. Like, yeah, I could see a big ass hole in the ground of Arizona.
Yeah, I can go see the beach. Cool. But like, it's doing shit with you, my friend. Like,
I'm here for you. Like, so that's, I just never been one to,
I know that's a hot take.
I've never been one for, like, big, like, monuments or staples of the city.
It's cool.
Food is much more important than going to go see, like, a building or some shit.
Like, I've never been, yeah.
I've never been into, like, what are they called?
The staples, like, the bean was trash.
I went to the bean.
I was a stupid big-ass mirror.
Yeah, that one sucks.
Bean is trash.
Bean sucks.
Grand Canyon, I get why people like it.
It just, why, man, a hole.
I get it.
It's dope.
But just not like I really like the grandfrey
I get it
But it just wasn't it don't do nothing from me
Like when I go to the beach
I hate going to the beach
So you get all sandy
I'm not going in the water
That's the damn show
So it's nothing
This isn't doing anything for me
Don't you like being around a beach though
I like being near a beach
No
I went to high school in San Diego
So it did
Maybe don't have the sting
That he didn't
As if I didn't grow up around it
And I used to work out by the beach too
So like I used to get up in the morning
And run two miles on a beach
and then run my hill and then go to school,
then come back and do the same shit.
So it's like, lost its allure.
I love a restaurant on the beach.
You'll never get me in the ocean,
but I love the view.
The user, views are fire.
I think I said it before,
but like there's this restaurant called at the green something.
It's on San Diego, I think it's a Mission Bay, Mission Beach.
One of those.
where at at at they have a bunch of pictures like right when the sun sets there's like this green flash
sometimes that appears as this as the sun sets uh over the water and uh they have a little restaurant
that's called the green what it's called green something green fork that could could be it i don't
remember no this this isn't it yeah there's the green flash that's uh there are a few restaurants
like that i think they have one in it might might not be there they got a few in michigan too anywhere you see
sunset over a big body of water, you can get the green
flash. I was to say, like, you're getting some sometimes.
Yeah.
That's what I always be men in the ass of flat earthers.
Is the sunset?
What are y'all, what's y'all explanation for
the Aurora Borealis?
Like, why is that a thing? Why does that happen?
I've never seen that answer.
I don't know that I could answer that for you as someone who believes the
earth is round.
Oh, it's because
the earth is a magnet.
Okay.
And the magnetic activity causes, like, you know what, to be honest?
I don't think about it.
I don't know that I've investigated further past it's a magnet.
We'll look into it.
There's also St. Elmo's Fire.
What's that?
You can see that sometimes when you're flying in a plane, too.
It's kind of like a light show.
I also don't know what causes it.
Magic.
It's one of my favorite phenomenons, though.
Okay, so.
Because I literally don't understand it.
How it works.
Solar wind.
It's good.
FYI for you, fact learners out there.
The sun consistently shoots a stream of charged particles, electrons, and protons of protons in the space, known as solar wind.
Magnetic Funnel.
Earth's magnetic field shields the planet from most of these particles, but it's weaker at the North and South Pole.
The magnetic lines channel the particles down into the polar regions.
The atmospheric collision.
the solar particles slam into the oxygen atoms, nitrogen molecules high up in atmosphere.
This collision excites the atoms.
And when they return to their normal state, they release the energy as visible light.
Oh, I know I started to do with magnet.
I just was in there.
That's pretty interesting.
It's got to be one of those things that you look at and you're like, this is magic.
Can you imagine like not like in 1600s?
You live close to there.
You're like, what the fuck is that?
Right. With St. Elmo's fire, it's when a pointed object, I guess it has to be like a ship or a plane, but it's a plasmus plasma that's created by a corona discharge from a rod-like object, like a mast from a ship, a chimney from a ship, animal horn.
in an atmospheric electric field, it has also been observed on the leading edges and windshields of aircraft by pilots.
Come up.
So it's like a blue violet glow, yep.
You say St. Elmo's Fire.
Yep.
It's the first time I've heard it.
I googled it, and it's a movie with Rob Lowe in it.
That's true.
Yeah, it is.
That's one of those Brat Pack movies from the 80s, I think.
That's like Breakfast Club?
Yeah.
I didn't know there was a genre at that shit.
Yeah.
It's when something is flying through.
like electrically charged air
and I don't know
it creates like a glow like a blue or violet glow
but yeah there's so many Rob Lo movies
from that era that features like a lot of the same cast
same writers
but I don't remember the others
16 candles that's probably one of them
skipped my
section
I just remember the breakfast club was huge
so I remember that one
is Greece is Greece a rap pack movie
no
interesting
That's different cinematic universe.
Gotcha.
Yeah, John Travolta and, oh, God, what's the,
Olivia Newton-John were not part of that.
Oh, I thought it was a genre of movie.
You're saying it's like a cast of people
that had the same similar roles.
Yeah.
Got you.
Yeah, it's like a recurring, like a group of actors,
actresses and writers and producers that work together
on a few different films.
Fair enough.
What else we got going on in the world?
today. Anything that you guys want to make sure to get to? The AI researchers are taking up smoking
because they think it's going to cure cancer. Do you think that's real? No. I think it's one guy.
I think there's, and then it was one of the CEOs said it, right? Yeah, I think it's like a lot of
stuff that's in the AI universe, it's something, it's designed to get publicity and designed to draw like
media attention. Palantir CTO says many AI researchers have started smoking cigarettes to demonstrate their
confidence the day I will cure cancer. I think there's one guy who said it as a joke probably.
Yeah, I think there's one guy that just hasn't quit smoking yet.
Because he's like, I, they'll probably figure it out.
Because smoking as someone who, it just doesn't sound appealing to me regardless.
Oh, bro, I forgot. When I was in Argentina, I go to go get an orange phantom, the greatest drink on Earth, right?
and right behind the counter there's pictures of fetuses and lungs,
blackened lungs on these cigarette cartons,
which I've seen it similar in Canada one time I went,
but this one was egregious.
They had just pictures of dead babies and fetuses and all kinds of nasty teeth
saying this will cause cancer on a pack of cigarettes.
And I was like, that shit is actually fire.
I wonder is it a deterrent.
It has actually deterred people?
Or like, yo, give me the one with the fetus right there.
The red one.
Yeah.
I think everywhere has that except us.
I think in Europe they do, if I'm not mistaken.
Yo, that's a crazy purchase when you stand in line.
You're like, I want that one that's going to do that to me.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is.
It's, um, they also have ones that have like big gum disease on it.
Yep.
Like rotting mouths.
Like dissected lungs and shit.
Like big bold letters.
Like, you.
You will get cancer, man.
This will kill you.
This will kill you.
Like, yeah, let me get that one.
I said it's going to die in the next three, four months.
Let me get that one.
Yeah.
I think it's probably one guy that's already addicted and he just doesn't want to quit.
And he's just saying, listen, what's the point?
We'll have a cure for it.
But also, there's other reasons to not smoke, too.
I am looking at smoking rates by country worldwide.
What percentage of United States adults do you think smoke cigarettes?
United States?
Inlog cigarettes.
Yeah.
22% I think less. I think it's less than that now. I'm going to say 10%.
9.6. Wow. Good on you, America. Yeah.
The highest countries in the world are North Macedonia at 39.
Damn. I think just messed up. Lebanon, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, a lot of Eastern Europe.
Solomon Islands, Indonesia, France, Turkey.
Bosnia.
Yeah.
Eastern Europe.
That makes sense.
But to buy those packs and to just like blow past, especially, I think it does, if you're already addicted, I don't think it helps you quit, but it probably helps people around you be like, hey, dude, what the fuck are you doing still smoking cigarettes?
Argentina is at 21%.
So pretty high.
Yeah.
But yeah, everybody's smoking and drinking tea out there.
How was the Fanta different?
Now, Fanta's state the same.
Well, I think in Europe, it's different, right?
I know that in Mexico,
Coke, Mexican Coke is different.
It was real sugar.
Yeah.
But in Europe, they're like,
they can't believe Fanta in the U.S. is like actually orange.
They're like, what is this?
Yeah, it might be the dyes.
Maybe they have to use different dyes over there.
Yeah, I'll find it.
I know they got yellow, Fanta.
They know they got red Fanta.
Purple.
Yeah, see, this is orange Fanta.
Europe looks like orange juice and that's it that's all they got it's yellow I got to try the purple
fanter what's the what what's that's I think there's purple I think it's all different flavors
interesting because growing up my favorite drink I used to mix the Kool-Az right so when it was
my turn to make the Kool-Aid we would all rotate as kids right we would all have our favorites
I would do the purple with the orange and mix that like two and a half three cups of
sugar really bad but that shit would that you that you should that you'd that you'd
to hit.
Purple yellow good mix, too, by the way.
A little sleeper.
What color does that make?
Is it green?
I don't know.
It's been a while.
Yeah, that'd be green.
Yeah, it's like, it's been a while since I made.
Do you ever have managers at football like mix different Gatorade flavors?
I follow, uh, I did that.
Some football managers on TikTok that make some, some good Gatorade combination.
I used to do that shit.
I used to mix yellow and red.
No, yeah, yeah, yellow and red.
Oh, that's crazy.
Orange and yellow I used to mix a little bit, and then purple and yellow I used to mix.
I think red always felt heavy to me, so I felt like I had to lighten it up.
I agree with that.
Yeah, I felt like it feels different in your mouth.
I agree.
Red is very heavy.
Like I have to like, in order for me to drink a pure red Gatorade, I got to be really thirsty, though, like, really thirsty.
Because if I'm like, yeah, I need a little hydration, yellow.
Yellow's the lightest.
It just delight.
I was just fixing to say red and yellow Gatorator, totally.
different drinks. Yeah, I thought you're drinking iron. This shit is heavy. Blue is light. Well,
the glacier freeze is light. The other blue is the dark zone. I'm with you. Yeah,
I wish I'm with you. I don't, is that got to be some kind of size by because it's very,
we got to look into this. It's like prevalent. Like the yellow is the lightest easily. And then that red was
like, it's all you got is red. It's like velvet. It's like almost soggy.
shit was heavy man that's also uh that's also foreshadowing yeah oh can we talk about one more thing
yeah we're gonna also get into just the most are you call it the most overrated things in our
opinions is that the the the framing that works for everybody who put shit in the title
that grabs people's attention most overrated shit okay with some asteris or just the full word
got to do the asteris because they could
Matt Dogg, I want to get to what you have to say.
I've got two other things.
One serious, one not serious, but makes you say, hmm?
Go serious first.
Matt Dogg, you want to go first?
Well, you and I might be on the same wave, maybe?
You go first.
The new White House press secretary.
Oh, no, I wasn't going to talk about her.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, she can't read.
She was nervous.
I'm going to wait for all the facts to come out.
What a literacy test?
I don't, it seems like she was kind of, she cut a lot of people off guard.
But, by her lack of ability to read?
I don't, I don't think a lot of people knew that this was coming.
I mean, that was bad.
She did appear to be very nervous.
It seemed like she was reading off a script.
I don't know, I have, I have no idea about her background.
I've just, I've read a couple things that she presented herself,
as a lawyer but might not have a law degree? Yeah, she is a quote unquote lawyer, but apparently
passed the bar in China when she was working in China for some law firm. And she used to,
her last job before this was she was working for the parent company of Truth Social. Okay.
Like the Trump Technologies Company. And I believe is a Natalie Harp archetype of addicted to Donald Trump
and would do anything in her power
to get into this administration
and this isn't the one he had a little thing
like with or a legend no that's a different
white blonde lady who has a lot of plastic surgery
different variant got you yeah different variant
pretty much the same exact person
but that is it that was a
like criminally bad performance day one
hey this was so funny about America doc
when the Republicans get
press secretaries or something like that right
They do white, blonde woman.
When a Democrats get it is, black woman with natural hair.
And it's just so funny, the image that both parties want to, like, project.
I find it very, very entertaining.
Four out of the five press secretaries for Trump have been women besides Sean Spicer.
I was going to say Spicer.
Yeah, he's the only male.
I don't know that position.
I don't think Trump liked it when S&L had Melissa McCarthy.
And Melissa McCarthy do an impression of his, his spokesperson, because he's a big image guy.
Wasn't Mooch, press secretary?
No, no.
What was he?
He wasn't.
He was, I think, director of communications.
Okay.
Yeah.
He kind of acted at times like press secretary because he, Mooch liked the cameras.
Well, he was there for what, two weeks?
Yeah, so he'd put himself in front of the cameras quite a bit.
But no, Mooch was not.
Press secretary.
Press secretary.
Yeah, he was, yeah, I think director of comms, which I don't know who that is for Trump
off the off my
or top of my head
um but
it's it was tough every ounce of it was tough
I'm I'm so sorry big to your to your
your side but
I don't I don't care about this woman
I don't I don't know her name
I'm I'm putting the over under at her lasting three months
yeah I don't I don't she did Levin just want a new job
no she wanted well I'm sure she wants to work at Fox News but
more time with her family
Yeah, more time with her family.
I also, I suspect that I had something to do.
Didn't she find out that she was on the decoy plane?
Yes.
That probably.
Yeah, I think that probably sped run her.
That would make me reconsider some things.
Yeah.
She's going to need time with her husband.
Yeah, he's got to die soon.
Yeah, if we were on a plane and, like I was supposed to fly back from, call it the final four,
and Dave snuck off the plane and got on a different plane because he found out that
somebody was trying to shoot a missile at the one that I was on.
I probably wouldn't work at Barstle after that.
I think that's a fair.
I'll probably leave.
I think that's a fair line to draw on the sand.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But she literally like, I can't remember what her last day was.
And then literally, I believe two days later she was on Fox.
So I'm sure she's just eyeing to be the next.
Megan Kelly said she was like every one of those press secretaries who's just trying to get a job of Fox News.
Yeah.
That's like your springboard, which I did not really realize.
but because wasn't um
Kaylee McAnney or whatever
wasn't she a press secretary for like a second
yep and she has that show now
yeah I mean they all just go work at the
who was the redhead for Biden she works at
Jen Saki
yeah that's what they all go do
yeah but I just her performance was abysmal
uh what was your serious
I've a serious one in a not so serious
one. You want me to the serious one first? Yes. Well, I just saw yesterday, because we talked about before,
I saw that Trump might be backing off the live streamed execution of the Ford Hood shooter.
Yeah, I saw they're debating it. Apparently, he just found out that the guy was in a wheelchair,
paralyzed from the waist down. And so, you don't think that that, that idea did not come from him.
That came from Pete. Probably from Pete, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would agree with that. And Trump understands
that, like, it's not, I don't think anybody, even Pete would be happy with the final optics of, like,
shooting a guy on live stream who's in a wheelchair.
Do you think Pete knew he was in a wheelchair?
Probably, yeah.
If he was familiar with the case at all, which he might not have been.
I don't know.
And regardless, so my bigger overall thing is whether or not he was in a wheelchair,
I agree, like it looks way more disgusting if the government brings out a guy in a wheelchair
and just shoots him on a live stream.
But even if he's not in a wheelchair, still a really, really bad idea to do.
it. It's not, I'm not soft on crime.
The guy, if it is live streamed, do you think, and you know what, I needed to do a better job of
researching, like, I forget the shooter, what group he said he was affiliated with or what
group had pressured him into it. I guess we can say for the sake of the conversation that he was
communicating with ISIS, even though that might not be the group that he was speaking with.
So I don't know. I don't know what you're seeing the big.
2009. That was a little before ISIS, right?
I don't know. It might have been right at the start.
It just says, having been motivated by militant Islamist religious convictions.
Right. So I'm assuming that he was in contact or studied under the tutelage of some radical cleric or imam.
So I just don't know who that is. I don't know if it's ISIS or whatever. But my main point is, imagine you are a
radical Islamic terrorist. Imagine that you are in an ISIS-type group overseas. And the United States
does a live stream of shooting a guy that claimed to be representing you when he went on a mass
shooting spree on an army base. How many people that are in a group like ISIS are going to watch that
and say, whoa, we better straight up and fly right? I'm guessing the number is zero. And I'm
also guessing that the number of more people that would watch that and be like, wow, they really do
hate us. And I kind of see what the radical Islamic cleric in my neighborhood or whatever is
talking about like, yeah, this this radicalizes me a little bit. Like that there are going to be a lot
of people that would fall more into that line of thinking, I think, than saying like, whoa, they mean
business in the United States. We should stop. So I think inherently it would make.
us much less safe to do it.
To like brag about executing a guy with a gun on a live stream that everybody can watch.
I feel like that would, if your, if your true goal is to protect people and to make America
safe, that is a terrible way of going out.
It makes America less safe.
I would argue much less safe in the long run, like way, way, way less safe.
I don't think you're incorrect, but do you think there are that many people in
Iran or Afghanistan or wherever
that
like that that would be the final straw for them
I know I was thinking about doing some terrorism
but I was probably going to back off
it might but I think it definitely adds to
a list of things that they're being taught
that would be like that I mean that that's probably true
I think terrorists don't think they're doing terrorism
that's the whole premise right they think they're in the right
they think it's martyrdom they think
they think it's get back just like the U.S.
If I was to tell you, U.S. is a terrorist state, you'd be like, no, no, no, we're protecting our people.
That's what they think.
So they don't think that.
So you can radicalize by somebody and saying, you know what?
Fuck that.
I'm sick of these motherfuckings.
That's to P.F. These poor, it's like, and they don't have a lot to lose.
Yeah.
I think it's human nature.
And it's not like a deterrent.
It's not being used as a deterrent in this case.
it would be seen, not saying that we're, that the United States is a bad guy in this situation
for serving justice to somebody that shot up our military base because those families do deserve
justice. But if you're making a public display of it, that easily crosses into like provocation,
or at least adds fuel to the fire of the arguments of the radical Islamic terrorist overseas
that actually want to harm us. And that's going, I'll put it this way. If we,
When we were attacked on 9-11, when that happened, was our response, whoa, these terrorists mean business, we better straighten up and fly right because that was a display of strength.
No, no, our response was we're going to fuck them up with every possible resource that we have at our disposal as an act of vengeance.
So like any public act of violence against the other is going to be used as a pretext.
Like the people that would sympathize with that sort of guy when they watch this on a live stream,
it's going to make them more likely to commit acts of violence in the future, not less, is what I'm saying.
That could be true.
That would put, I think, everybody in danger from like service people overseas to here at home.
If there's like lone wolf terrorists that are somehow a line that somehow slipped through the cracks and they,
like take a bomb somewhere like that's going to be used on like recruiting films to try to get
people to turn against us that's what I'm saying and if your goal is to stop Americans from being
hurt or being terrorized that is I think a really bad way to go about it so I hope they just
completely nicks the idea of a live stream execution 100%.
You think they're going to do it?
I don't know invite like invite the I understand the families want vengeance I get that I would
want vengeance too if I were then and if the person's been sent
to death invite the families my understanding is are allowed to witness the execution uh but i don't
think that it needs to be live streamed i think that's a that would be a moment for america where if
they did do that and we're all watching it's like that's a line that you can't uncross as as a
country we've never done that right a live stream of an execution yeah i don't think so and definitely
not one that's been like publicly promoted was saddam on tv no i don't think so because
I feel like I remember
some the footage of it
if I remember was done by
somebody that was affiliated with a group that was executing
him because we didn't execute him technically
we turned him over to an Iraqi group
that hung him and I think one of the
people involved in the execution
had like a phone that they got really grainy footage of
Iraqi state television broadcast video showing him being
led to the gallows and having the news placed around his neck
the official video stopped before the trap door opened. Someone present secretly recorded the execution on a mobile phone.
The footage captured the hanging itself, including the final moments and spread online and through television news outlets within hours.
Yeah. So they did put on TV him like going up there.
Going up there, yeah. But I think, I even think the logic in that was to not make a martyr tape out of it so that his supporters would be able to have something to rally around or use his motivation or recruiting.
I think that was intentional that they said, no, we're not going to do any video of it.
Yeah, that's the only one I can think of.
Yeah, no, I don't know if there's been like closed circuit TV footage for like families to watch as,
because that's always an option, I think.
Well, at least in certain states, if you were, if you're in a grieved party,
if it was like a relative of yours that was that was murdered.
You can go.
Then you can go and watch.
So I don't know if there's ever been like a closed circuit link that if you're in that family,
you can't make it.
You can watch remotely.
I don't know.
something like that might have happened, but I can't remember one that's like
live stream much, much less one that's like promoted and celebrated. So I don't know,
I just feel like that's something that as a country, that's a line that you can't go back
from once you cross it. Can I ask a crazy question? Public executions now. Like that doesn't,
I don't think that should sit right with with anybody. How many people do you think would watch
if it was a live stream? A lot. A fuckload. I think, you know, but like what is a lot? Like, I would have
no desire to watch that.
I think it would probably be, it would be millions for sure.
I don't know, 10 million.
And then if you didn't watch it, it's not like that would escape you because the people
that did watch it would clip it and post it everywhere.
So even if you opted out of it, you would be forced, you could not stop yourself
from watching it at some point.
It would become monoculture to some degree.
Yes, it would become like iconic, for lack of a better term,
like iconic moment in American history.
That makes me sick.
And that's like, I'm telling you that's not something that you want.
And it's not going to make anybody safe if we do that.
It's like Charlie Kirk.
Like you didn't want to see it.
Yeah.
It was all over.
So it was like, you couldn't miss it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's going, I promise you, if that happens, the outcome, you're going to have people
clipping it.
It's going to be posted everywhere.
It's going to make everybody, every American is going to be much, much less safe
over the course of the next like 10 years than if,
you just calmly, like if you, it's a regular execution, not calmly.
Like, nobody, nobody thought about that, this guy's been on death row for, for years.
Nobody's, nobody's thought about this guy at a long time.
He was not going to be a martyr at all.
And then now that he's become a big deal, hell yeah, they're going to martyr him.
Like people that are overseas that hate us anyways are going to point to him as a hero.
They'd forgotten about the guy.
This is, it has potential to be like the biggest own.
goal, one of the biggest own goals in my lifetime.
So that's why I wanted to get a little bit serious with it.
I feel like it's a very, very, very bad idea.
I'm against the death penalty in all forms, no matter what, the crime.
Because I just, I don't, one, I don't think it sends the correct message,
killing somebody to show people that killing is bad.
That's just hypocrisy on its face.
But aside from that, the, the martyrdom that comes from that, they love that.
And the main point to me is I think if you want if you're going to have somebody suffer for a crime that committed, there's nothing more sufferable than an insufferable life.
I mean, there's nothing more like suffering than an insufferable life.
So make them live the rest of their lives in agony and in conditions that are just not favorable.
If that's what if that's what your goal is, to me killing is the easy way out.
Like, you know, you know, like that's like what if nobody knows what happens when we die.
So like, what if the next life is great?
Or what if, you know, nothing?
You don't, you don't ever really get to pay the consequences, in my opinion.
So I, I've never been a fan of the death penalty.
But I do think that what you're saying, it could kick off a whole shitstorm that need not be.
Yeah.
It already has to a certain extent.
Yeah.
Even more so.
And yeah, I'm with you.
So, like, what I say about the death penalty, people know that I am opposed to it.
I don't want it in any case.
But I'm not going to like, I'm also not.
not like speaking out strongly.
I know what happens and I understand why people,
especially victims, want it in certain cases.
But in this case, I feel like it's, this is,
it would be a terrible moment, not just a bad moment at the time,
but also like really, really put us in danger moving forward.
Yeah, I understand people want for it or desire to have it.
It's nothing I would pick it, you know, in protest for it.
Or I'm not it's just in my opinion emotions out of any case.
I can't think of a situation where it's a good thing.
Yeah, I don't think I don't think it does any good.
So I know that we have a lot of people that listen to the show in politics.
If you work in the White House, you listen, feel free to share those sentiments with the president.
That's one I wouldn't mind.
That's one that I wouldn't mind you passing on because it feels like it's Pete's big project that he's working on.
And he's trying to look big and tough.
So he'll get a pat on the head.
but I don't think this has been thought through by anybody.
I think if Trump has already leaked that he is considering not doing it, it means they're not going to do it.
I hope so.
Like a Drake release, they kind of, they leak things to test, test the temperature.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A trial balloon.
What was your not serious one?
The not serious one.
This gets you man that can be both.
How hard of a pivot?
Pretty hard.
Baseball.
Shohei Otani, they asked him like,
Are you going to sit out?
Are you going to be benched?
The manager of the Dodgers was thinking about because they're down to nothing.
It's a seven-game series, so there's room to come back.
They're down to nothing, and the series shifts to Los Angeles.
And they asked Dave Roberts, is he considering benching Otani?
And his answer was, I think all options are on the table.
Oh.
It doesn't sound like they're going to.
In fact, I think they confirmed that he's going to be in the lineup tonight.
But it's gotten to the point where they are, they've thought about it.
He's, and I think O-Tani was adamant that he play.
I don't, I mean, I don't like that for us because, I mean, he's one of the greatest baseball players of the generation.
And every time he's up at bat, I'm nervous as a Brewers fan.
No matter what the circumstance, I just feel like he, at any time, he could go.
And so it's, maybe they just did that.
You know, sometimes coaches will say shit in the media to light a fire under a player there.
That could be the case as well.
But yeah, I don't want to see him get going.
I don't, I don't care.
I don't.
Hey, time about it.
So the dude, so was it Freddie Freeman that commented under our post?
TK. Hernandez.
TK. Hernandez.
Damn, I hope he heard my preface.
They're all great baseball players.
Sure they're great dudes.
Fuck, L.A.
But I hate getting clipped out of context like that.
Immense respect for all these.
You know what I appreciate I'm going to check back after that.
But get him out of here.
I hope they do bet you, but he's another one.
No, no, you don't because they have other,
they have guys like Kike sitting on the bench who just show up
and then they come and hit two homers.
I feel more comfortable with that man not playing.
I'm sorry.
What you want to say, man?
Like, he is a, he's in a crazy slump, no.
Lucky for us, too, because he put, he put, he put,
the belt on us last year.
So, Big T, what, what was the exact?
date that he went into the slump.
Was it August 18th?
August 18th was his last homer and he has one RBI since then.
Right.
So wait, one RBI?
That's correct.
Came on in two months?
September 24th against the Padres.
Yep.
It's been a slump for you boy.
Okay.
So that's why I'm like Benson because I feel like he's due.
You know what I feel like he's due?
Yeah.
My, my, that's interesting.
I kind of just laid that out on part of my take this morning.
Curious to hear what you guys, if you can take it in any direction, because all I have is like,
isn't this interesting that his slump started August 18th?
The Los Angeles Lakers, who were owned by Walter, who owns the Los Angeles Dodgers as well,
he sold the Lakers on, I think, October 13th, or sorry, August 13th.
And then all the discussions about him being involved in this federal investigation, which also included some allegations of misappropriating funds to the Dodgers and, you know, getting all the deferred money that he was committing to players like Shohei.
That's all of a sudden under examination.
And if you look at Sho Hay's contract, he's got a key man clause in the contract, meaning if the owner sells the team, Shohei becomes a free agent automatically at that point.
I don't think that's common at all in any sport, much less baseball,
to have your contract tied in directly to the owner of the team and whether or not they're involved.
So right now, all I'm doing it, I'm just putting, I'm just throwing shit out there.
I'm seeing the dots.
I have no connection for the dots.
I'm liking that you're trying to connect them.
I'm just curious what his performance on the field would have to do with that.
Like, why would he need to suck?
Could be stress.
Could be stress related if his financial details,
aren't entirely on the up and up.
Sure, but that could have been the case at any point.
But people were only talking about the federal investigation,
and the media was only talking about it after the sale of the later.
Okay. I'm seeing where you're taking it.
Yeah.
I don't hate it.
And, I mean, he does own the Dodgers.
And the way that he got the Dodgers,
um,
allegedly he paid, he sold one of his companies like to Magic Johnson.
who was a part owner of the Dodgers
for Magic Johnson
be like, yeah, okay, let's let this guy in.
Allegedly.
All-time nickname for life circumstance.
Yes, it is.
I don't know that I've ever thought of that until right now.
Shit, it's hilarious.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But now that you mention it.
Yep, I mean, it gets no better.
No, it doesn't. That's pretty much perfect.
So what do you think happens in the rest of that series?
I think it's going to go, I think it's going to go seven.
Really?
Yeah, I do.
Okay, fuck all that. I need your, Dodgers are too good.
Whatever. I need your opinion.
I do think they're going to get at least one in L.A.
Like, they are a great team.
But I need your sports.
I know a jujuicide, emotions aside.
Logically, I need those.
Because I thought about doing that.
that shit. After we went up 2-0, okay. I'm riding high as a brewer's fan right now, all right?
What say you as a fan that says, okay, I know, we all know, one of these games is going to the
Dodgers. That's what I feel as a Brewers fan. Yeah. I'm thinking about betting on the Dodgers,
so at least if they win, I'm not upset that much about it. Is that, you know what I'm saying?
Is this a no-no?
I know this is a no-no for fandom.
But just logically, it makes sense.
I mean, there's a fierce debate on this topic.
And I tend to side on the, like, I don't, I don't think it's crazy to do.
Like, how much would this be worth to you?
Right.
If I could walk up to, like, Tennessee playing Alabama,
Alabama this Saturday. If I could walk up to a window and hand someone $300,
and they say Tennessee will win the game if you give me $300. All right. Fine.
Yep. That's a valid point. I think I've done it in the past, not for teams that I root for,
but if there's a team that I'm rooting against in a situation, like if it's a team that's playing
against two teams that I have no personal connection to, but I really would not like to see
one team win for whatever reason. Maybe they've had continued success at something, or maybe
like it's just time, I'm sick of them. I have bet on that team that always wins. So just in case
they do win, I at least get a taste of it. But I would never do that if it was against a team
that I actively cared about. And this is my conflict. I understand, but I'm like, I,
I think you're delusional to think that the brewers are going to sweep, right?
It's just, they're just too good of a team, do Dodgers.
So I'm saying, okay, if we, we, we all, I'm on the ship, it is what it is.
I might as well get something out of it.
I'm still going to root for them.
If they, if we do sweep, I'm lit.
I'm down to lose whatever money I put on it.
But if we don't, I'm like, all right, you know, at least, at least I got something out
out of the deal is what I feel as a fan.
That's what, that's what I feel.
And I'm not, I've never been one of like a superstitious cat.
I don't know. I'm mulling this over. I'm mulling this over. Why do you keep saying sweet?
Like would you not just bet on them to win the series? No, I'm not individual game.
Because I think the rules are favorite at this point. They're probably plus 300, 400.
Yeah. No, because I'm just talking about individual games. Oh, and maybe maybe I'm fucking up right now. Are the Dodgers a favorite to win tonight? I thought they were.
I didn't really take. I think the Dodgers would be favored to win tonight. Probably.
Oh, but if you were, no, if you were going to do this,
arian, why wouldn't you just do it for the series?
Because if say you bet on the Dodgers tonight and the Brewers win,
you lose the bet, then say the Dodgers won the next four games,
which wouldn't be incredibly likely, but then you've lost everything.
You would bet on them to win the series at plus money.
And then if the Brewers win great, and then if they don't, you would win the bet.
the way you're talking about doing it, you could lose everything.
Yeah, and I think that's what it is.
Maybe I'm too much of a chicken shit to put that juju
all the way on my squad.
You know what I mean?
You're saying, all right, we'll let them get two, one.
And then we'll be right back.
Yeah, then we're right back.
Right.
Yeah, so maybe I am a little superstitious.
And I've never been superstitious.
Baseball does funny things to you.
It does.
It does.
It's a funny game.
It would make you, yeah, it would just make you feel weird.
betting against them. Yeah, I don't, I don't like it. I just, just say it. That's why I had to
mull it over with my. If you're asking, that tells me. Yeah. The fact that you had to ask,
you know the right answer. Yep. Can't go against my squad. You're right. Yeah, can't. Can't do it.
You're right. Fuck them. Can't do it. Money, money won't buy you happiness in this situation.
It won't. I was trying to get, I was trying to get Christmas just, Christmas gifts for macrodose and
part. You're right. All right. You guys want to get to, um, some overrated, underrated stuff.
Are we doing underrated?
No, no, just all overrated.
All overrated.
Yeah.
I've got a list.
If you want to throw in some underrated stuff, I think you go ahead and you do that.
You can go rogue.
Well, I would have had a separate list.
I mean, I don't have one, but if one comes to mind, I'll toss it in as a bonus.
Why'd you say underrated, though?
As a bonus.
I don't know, because when I say overrated, I think overrated underrated, just comes with it.
I think both sides of the coin.
Reflex?
Yeah.
Gotcha.
I promise you, I don't have any underrated things, but I will, I will.
I probably will think of some, as I'm saying, all of the stuff that is overrated.
All right.
Let's do it.
All right.
Who wants to go first?
Well, we should explain the impetus of this episode, which was the Aryan sent a graphic in the group chat last week of, it was players who, whose production did not match their status.
And, you know, like Michael Vick was one of the top ones.
Like, Mike Vick, legendary player, but if you go look at his numbers, you wouldn't be wow.
Which I had disagreed with, by the way.
I mean, listen, I was the number one Mike Vic guy until the scandal, but now he's back.
I mean, his numbers aren't like crazy, but he changed the game.
That's, that's, he changed the game.
That's, that's the big thing.
Yeah.
He was so good at Virginia Tech.
So here was the graphic.
The graphic was top 10 NFL players more iconic than accomplished.
And I just found interesting, Bo Jackson.
I understand why people.
would say Bo Jackson, but I think that was more like, that's like a potential thing.
So like in NBA terms, it's like the Penny Hardaway, the Grant Hills, the Brandon Roy's.
Yeah, their career didn't pan out, but if they didn't get hurt, they would have been that guy.
Like, so I understand why people would say Bo Jackson, but you had to see him.
You had to say, you would have to say like NFL only because he was one of the best college football players ever.
Yeah.
So and then once he got to the league, it was just, it was very unlucky what happened to him.
And an MLB All-Star.
And Major League Baseball All-Star.
But yeah, the, the injury that he had, if you hear it broken down, like, how unlikely that injury is to be that severe, it's kind of crazy.
It's because he was so strong.
Yeah.
That he, like, ripped his own hip out.
Yeah.
So under normal circumstances, the hip would have dislocated, I guess.
And he would have, like, been, it would have been a bad injury, but it wouldn't be, like, career.
threatening. But since his muscles were so strong, his foot stayed planted in the ground longer than
it should have and just ripped everything up. He's a victim of his own strength. But yeah,
one of the best athletes ever, I will say like, yeah, he doesn't have the best NFL career,
but that's through no fault of his own. Agreed. And one of the only, like, extremely successful
dual sport athlete. Like, yep. One of the best athletes has ever been in America.
African sports. Number two is Joe Namath. Now, this is what I don't know much about, because I can't
really say that I have, I've seen footage of him, obviously, but I've never really tapped in and
checked to see if Joe Namath was that dude. I know he was good. I know he was in New York,
and anytime you're in New York, you are on a spotlight way bigger than anything else. So that could go
for or against you. So I can't really speak on Joe Namath, I don't know. You look at,
Joe Namath's career statistics, and they're actually kind of shocking.
It's, it's, it's, this will take your breath away if you think that Joe Namath is like
an iconic NFL player. And I guess he is an iconic NFL player, but he, his lifetime completion
percentage, uh, 50.1% that's actually interesting. Okay.
He's a different time, different time. He threw 173 touchdowns. He threw 220 interceptions.
Say that again. He threw a hundred,
73 touchdowns, he threw 220
interceptions. That can't be right. Look it up.
That can't be right. Look it up.
Huh.
His career as a starting quarterback for the New York Jets,
61, 61, and 4.
How many Super Bowl's did he win?
Actually, you know what? It might be 63, 63, and 4
if we might not be counting postseason in that 61 figure.
But, yeah, 63, 63 and 4.
I think he just won the one Super Bowl, right?
Huh.
Yeah, I would say for the lore that he has, Broadway Joe,
mint coats on the sidelines.
Right.
I would say, yeah, maybe his prestige outpaced his productivity, probably, yeah.
It was a different time.
Offenses were completely different.
Defense were completely different in that era.
So take that with a grain of salt.
But I think most people, when they think of Joe Namath, they think of one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever play football.
And I don't know that, I don't know that's necessarily the case.
He was instrumental in building the league into what it was.
That's a big deal.
Like he was the quarterback of a big underdog in the Super Bowl that ended up, you know, if they don't win the Super Bowl that year, I don't know if the Super Bowl becomes an iconic institution.
But also, like, he was like a renowned, good-looking dude for the game.
ladies brought a bunch of different eyes to the game that probably had a lot to do with it as well
but yeah i would say i think overall verdict probably a little bit more uh prestige than product
um in the in that super bowl he was 17 for 28 60.7 completion percentage so well above his
lifetime average he threw for 206 yards at 7.4 yards per attempt uh no touchdowns no
interceptions. Solid, solid game for a quarterback.
Solid game, yeah. All right. Number three was Michael Vick. And I just, this is why I just
disagree with, like we've said, I think he, I think he had elite talent. I think he got robbed,
we got robbed of his talent in his prime. And I think he changed the game. He, he pushed the
standard of what a running back, running quarterback is. And I think at the Day's League,
He's instrument I mean
monumentally more
productive because the
offenses are built around a running quarterback now
Again
And it's just a cultural icon as well
So that's probably where people feel like his prestigious
He's more of the product
But he changed the game
I just grived this one whole heart of me
Do you remember the Michael Vick tennis shoes
Oh yeah Nike had?
I got those for Christmas one year
It was one of the best gifts I ever got
One of those things every day
Remember the Michael Vick Experience commercial?
Greatest sports commercial ever.
Well, second, Chicks Dig the Long Ball.
That's a good one too, yeah.
See, I always thought those fantasy ones.
This was pre-I-I was even in the league, but those fans, remember those?
Yeah, yeah.
Those are really good sports commercials.
I really like those.
I mean, the Sports Center ones, they have some great ones.
Yeah, they do.
But for brands, it's Chicks-Deg-The-Long ball, clearly number one.
I like Terry Tate, office linebacker.
who is that oh buddy you don't know terry tate no i believe it's a rebuck commercial is reboc still
making stuff are they still yeah they're still making stuff they had they had j j watt a few years ago
uh they had i mean alan iverson was the big rebuck guy that's right they're trying to bring the
basketball back you got bracing de chambore now oh yeah yeah they came out with uh you know the
questions the like first iverson shoe they came with those and golf shoes
That's pretty cool.
Yeah, I didn't hate them.
I just didn't like them enough to get them.
The questions were all-time iconic shoes.
I wanted a pair so bad when I was growing up.
And my parents were like, no, they're too expensive.
And then once I got a little bit older, I was going to buy a pair.
I put them on.
They were heaviest shit.
Heavy than a motherfucker.
They were crazy.
How do you play basketball in those shoes?
I mean, basketball shoes back then in general were pretty heavy.
All the joins, the 11s, all of the sheds.
The threes.
And I was a little bit before that, but those are heaviest shit, dog.
Shout out to Bernadette.
My brother wanted them really bad.
And so she put them on Layaway.
Remember Layaway?
She put them on Layaway and got them shit.
So when my brother got him, I felt like I had them.
I used to slip them on when he didn't know.
But yeah, they were the shit, man.
They were the shit.
All right.
Do we want to get to our list of overrated things?
Let's do it, yeah.
So, yeah, so we were talking about stuff that was overrated.
And then we were like, we should do an episode on this.
And y'all want me to go first?
Yeah, go first.
Do we want to do point by point or I'll run through the whole thing and we can pick which ones you'd like to discuss?
Maybe we all fire one off.
I'm cool with whatever.
Yeah, let's go around.
Let's go clockwise.
So I go Big T, myself, Mad Dogg McKinsey.
Do you have any?
Okay.
And then you guys and then Aaron and then back to Big T.
All right.
The first on my list was brunch.
Okay.
And brunch is.
the wedding of meals.
Came out real spicy.
And here's why.
Here's why.
There's nothing inherently wrong with the concept.
It is the, I said it's the wedding of meals in that you are now paying $28 for something that should cost 13 because it's brunch.
Okay.
Yeah.
And they'll get you.
And also brunch, it's, for those unfamiliar, it's a combination of the words breakfast and lunch.
to me that denotes a meal taking place between 9 a.m. and noon, right?
Okay.
Before that, it's breakfast after that, it's lunch.
These restaurants now at 4 p.m. on Saturday, they're like, it's brunch.
I hate it. It drives me up a wall.
I agree. There's, there should be, it's expanded too much.
Yeah.
The word brunch has become diluted.
Yes.
Because they know if you attach the word brunch to a meal, guess what?
It's going to cost you about 25% more.
If everything is brunch,
nothing is brunch.
Yep.
Okay.
Fair enough.
But the foods that were derived from the idea of brunch,
I feel like are magnificent.
Yeah, the food's not bad.
I'm not saying that.
The one that you hate the most avocado toast,
I mean, it's just some of the best shit out there.
And then you can get it with salmon on it.
Oh, my God.
Little roasted salmon or whatever they call it,
smoke salmon.
It's just one of the best meals out there,
And you have a mimosa with some of the homies.
It's like, that's a great time.
Especially this time.
This time right now, fall brunch, that's when you do it.
The sun at a 45 degree angle shining through the leaves.
I don't know, man.
I feel you, though.
There's nothing wrong with it.
It's just a, it's a pricing issue.
And it's a, I've lamented on the, uh, the French toast thing where they're like,
this comes with edible flowers and our.
Right.
Blackberry compote.
And just bring the French toast, man.
I think, yeah, I think, uh, there's some really, there's some really good innovations like
Arian have said that have become more commonplace, like, um, crispy potatoes.
Crispy potatoes used to never be served anywhere.
And then brunch start happening.
And then now they're added to most menus.
You're talking about like, like home fries.
It could be really crispy home fries.
It could be like hash browns were pretty much limited to the waffle house.
of the world.
And then the ones that you would get at McDonald's,
those aren't like hash browns anywhere else.
There's a very limited selection of hash browns that we had
until brunch kind of accelerated it.
I felt like it also expanded the pool
of what tater tots could be as well.
And to me, that's the best arrangement of potato
that you can have.
Tater tot.
Have you ever had a tater tot with eggs?
Big Tee.
No.
Brother.
You take you to a little bit of.
What kind of eggs you're saying?
When you down on your luck and you find your way in Houston looking for a place to stay?
Yeah, I'm coming soon.
I'm going to show up one day.
And we're going to take you to an unannounced.
We're going to take you to a brush spot with Tatar Totson eggs.
It's just.
What kind of eggs?
However you like them.
That's preferential.
I like them over medium.
That's how I like my eggs.
But I'll take any egg.
Egg to me is one of the most versatile foods on earth.
Egg and potatoes.
God thing.
All right.
Yeah.
All right.
It's a good choice though.
Good selection.
My first overrated thing is going to be Times Square.
See, I don't know that that's even overrated.
The amount of publicity Times Square gets, the amount of like international pub.
Okay.
Internationally.
But I think everyone in America is like, yeah, Times Square sucks.
If you've been there.
Yeah.
If you've been there, everyone that goes there, they're like, this place sucks.
Yeah.
Because it does.
Because even if people are visiting and they know it.
It sucks. They'll still go to be like, well, I got to see it.
That does actually go back to my thing when we were talking about, like, friends visiting.
When I lived in New York, it'd be like, I mean, do you want to go to Times Square?
Like, we can, we'll go and we'll stand there for two minutes and he'll be like, all right, I've seen it.
And it's terribly crowded and gross.
Just advertisements everywhere. Big brand billboards, super bright, gives you like a headache.
Who's going into like the stores and restaurants in Times Square?
because the rent on those has to be astronomical.
They just count on like international tourists who are walking around.
I think it's just tourists.
If you got kids, then they're like, oh, we got to go into the M&M store.
That one makes a little sense.
But like there are just like, like there's a five guys in Times Square.
Like who is going to the Times Square five guys?
Right.
If you live in New York City and you're going to that Times Square five, you're in,
you're in Times Square for, I would have to assume, nefarious purposes.
Now, I will tell you, I would go to Times Square for one.
thing. On one of the streets, like off of Times Square, there's an AMC and a regal across the street
from each other, and nobody goes to see movies in Times Square. So I would go do that. You'd have the
whole theater to yourself. Yep, there's that, and there is a yardhouse. I have been to the
yardhouse. Now that we talk about it, I, well, but that was just a convenience issue. There was no other
yardhouse in New York. That was the only one. And it is a rare place that you can go in New York that
has a big restaurant with a lot of TVs.
All the games.
Yes.
You can get all the games there for sure.
Now, I'm on Times Square's my one one.
NYC geographical grid.
Where's Broadway in relation to like the play where the play?
That's Times Square.
Yeah.
See, that's right off of time.
I'll have to add a caveat.
Well, maybe this is out of town.
Or I love going to Broadway watch a good play.
That shit is amazing.
That's a separate thing.
Why so I asked where it was in relation to.
It's right near.
time square but like if you're going to do that you're you have somewhere to be rather than just
like hanging in time square and that it's nuance i didn't know the plays are usually they're on the
theaters are on like side streets so you're not in the heart of time square you're right you're you're
kind of in it and you're definitely next to it but you're not in the big like v intersections
walking in like with a big crowd of people outside that are milling about going to like i don't know
the verizon pop-up shop or whatever and selfishly yeah
another where I got my
Times Square, I'm a special place in my heart.
I made NFL history there.
It was the first undrafted player
to get drafted in the first round.
That's true.
No, that was it.
Radio Hall.
Radio Hall is Times Square, ain't it?
No, not even close.
I retract it.
I was trying to follow you on that one.
I was like, what?
I did all know shit about New York.
I guess it is relatively close-ish,
but not.
We just found out the other day,
Hank has never seen
or he has never seen draft day.
Yeah, he's missing anything.
Hey, going back to right-handed, though, I saw.
Yeah, he's thinking about it.
That's what I told.
Remember when he first changed?
I was like, his swing looks more natural.
I was the right.
I know he felt it,
but it looked better as a right-handed golfer,
for my opinion.
But them scores,
bullied him right back.
Yeah, sad.
he called me out though
saw that too
y'all y'all gonna play again
but you called me out did you say
he's never beat you on camera
he's never beaten me on camera yeah
so I don't know why he's called me out again
he's beat me lots of times off camera
but never on camera
now is you playing you right-handed
or left-handed on this match
he's gonna play me left-handed
y'all should do 18
and he has to pick which nine
he does the right and left hand
well he so yeah that's
that's a valid point he wants to beat me
left-handed playing nine holes
And it's my choice if it wants to be
If I want to do match play or stroke play
I have the thing about that too
People that ask for match play
Know they can't beat you
Right
So I always do stroke
Stroke means that we gotta count everything counts
You just giving you a match play is fun some
Match play good on like team
Like it was 2B2
I love that match me yeah
But like 1V1 and you trying to see who better
Stroke's dope
No high you can luck into winning a hole
Every now and again
Mm-hmm.
100%.
But then...
It doesn't matter if you have blow-up holes.
Yeah.
Then blow-up holes start to hold on now.
Nah, I got to see it.
Yeah.
Them four, three, four foot puds, I got to see that shit.
I had a bad blow-up hole the other day.
I shot 41, and then I was like, I feel good.
Let me play nine again.
And just see what I would do.
And then there was one hole.
I was going like bogey par, bogey par, bogey-par.
then I got to this one hole
and I got it up right next to the green
on two shots
even though my drive went way to the right
managed scramble
found myself about 10 yards off the green
chipped, duffed the first chip
didn't think about it, stepped right up to it
because I was so frustrated
chipped again, duffed the second chip as well
and then I was like, fuck it, I'm going to put it from here
because I don't want to duff it again
then I putted it, it went way past the hole
because I was frustrated.
I just whacked it.
Then I missed the putt coming back,
left myself about three feet,
missed that putt too.
Yeah.
And at that point,
nothing will make you want to go home faster than...
But you're right,
in match play,
who cares?
It never even reaches...
That's the other part
is like,
you never even get frustrated enough
to want to quit
during match play
because I would have picked it up
after the second duff chip
and just say, all right,
cut my losses.
You got it.
Next hole, you got it.
But then I had to deal.
with the added mental anguish of missing the first put, second putt, and third putt.
You don't have to deal with that when it comes to match play.
100%.
Hello.
Oh yeah, they came in.
My daughter's, she stayed home from school today.
She's a little, like, are you okay, Dad?
Because she, you know, fine, man.
Oh.
All right.
McKinsey, you want to go and go to?
next. Yes, I have, mine is similar to Times Square, but I'm going to say Las Vegas. Good one.
Okay. I like went there one time. I will say the only time I went there I was under age, so I wasn't
like drinking or anything and I only like stopped as a drive like across the country. Um,
but I just think it's maybe if you're younger, like 21.
in your young 20s and can drink,
but I just think there's like too much going on.
It's too crowded.
It's too expensive.
And like, I just personally don't enjoy like being in the club.
So that is probably why.
I think you're correct.
I do.
But I will say, Vegas when you're younger
and Vegas when you're a little older,
two different places.
Yeah, for sure.
100%.
And Vegas, when you got a low money to spend,
Can be fun.
Now, I ain't said you got to be extra rich.
But like, so my experience from Vegas when I was young, it was clubbing,
it was partying, it was hitting a slot to 2A, all that shit.
As an adult, I absolutely love Vegas.
But we do it as a golf trip.
So there's like certain courses we go out there and play the beautiful courses,
desert ball, courteously curated and manicured.
So we just, we go go play golf, go have some great food.
at some really good food.
Every now and then, you know, play some blackjack,
you know, don't do too much gambling.
But like, when you stay away from the real touristy shit,
Vegas is kind of dope.
But I understand, I'm just saying thousand percent.
That whole strip shit, very overrated.
I agree.
Yeah, mainly, yeah, mainly just like the main,
kind of like Times Square-esque.
But, yeah, I could see how other parts are great.
Yeah, Vegas is fun in small doses.
Yeah.
I don't like going to the club.
I don't like some of that stuff.
But, I mean, the pool is great if you go to the right place.
There are some pools that have, like, casinos next to the, like, right where you lay out in the sun.
Pretty good.
You can just go up there in your swimsuit.
Some of the casinos are really nice.
Great food.
And very nice hotel.
You have to have money, though, to, like, really be able to experience Vegas.
I went there when I was, like, 22, 20.
right out of college.
It was not that much fun.
I mean, the gambling was still a lot of fun in Vegas,
but not that fun of a place to go on a trip
if you don't have any money.
Also, if you're young and no money,
it's like a little bit more tolerable
because you are young, that you're like,
oh, I'm just going to have fun regardless.
But if you're older and not willing to spend the money,
then it's like you're not going to have fun.
Yep.
Pros and cons.
Mad Dog.
What you got?
Okay.
Your team winning a Super Bowl.
Now, this may be...
You're a Browns fan.
I know.
This may be why you...
Of course.
What is it?
You can't even get into the club.
My second one is going to be being six feet tall.
Why you hate from outside the club you can't even get in.
Really not that.
But I have, I guess it's not the actual act of winning the Super Bowl.
I'm sure that seems great.
I'd love to experience it one day.
But I'm taking this as the Philadelphia Eagles route where they're like, okay, you win the Super Bowl in February.
And then you have the parade and that seems really fun.
That doesn't seem overrated.
But the excitement and joy of winning a Super Bowl dies the moment the next season starts because all of our Philadelphia Eagles fans in this office, like they've won a couple of Super Bowls in the past couple of years.
and they hate Nick Siriani.
Everything happens in Philadelphia is the worst thing
that's ever happened ever to any franchise in football, it seems, for them.
And, like, they won a Super Bowl, what, two years ago?
Well, you're describing winning anything.
Yeah.
Yeah, but I guess a Super Bowl feels like the climax of that to me.
Like, the Cavs won 10 years ago and we're still milking that.
And, like, whatever?
You have a lifetime of memories.
But the Super Bowl specifically.
Ever again, I have a three-week run that gave me memories for the rest of my life.
But that's what you said.
You had a three-week run.
The Cavs had game seven.
I think the Super Bowl being one game adds to this.
Because it's like they had one game.
They won the Super Bowl.
And then the next season, it's like their woes are back.
Like, Seahawks won last, or, you know, this past Super Bowl.
And now they're back playing again.
and like I'm sure Seahawks fans are like oh so and so missed that cover blah blah blah blah
I fear that sometimes the high of winning a Super Bowl does not stick around for as long as
as I am I would be advertised for if my if my browns were to win one day this is uh there's old
saying it says comparison is the theft of joy right that's what you're I think the
I think teams that win a lot,
they fan base could probably get like that.
But if you're a fan of the teams,
like, this is why, like, as a brewerer fan,
I'm going to-
Long-suffering.
Yeah, I mean, I've been,
I've been at just two years straight, you know?
Exactly, period.
And when this happens, because it will eventually,
I mean, you can't tell me that, like,
for the rest of the time as a brewers fan,
I had that one.
And, you know, I'm not saying,
I'm not saying that it isn't a great experience to have,
and like I would cherish those memories,
but I wish that the joy went further
into the following couple seasons,
again, specifically for football,
because I feel like the moans and groans
then continue next season
as if you were not hoisting the Lombardi
a mere eight months ago.
I do think that's specific to football.
I think it's specific to certain fan bases.
Yeah, I think you're just really caught up
with some Philly scumbags
that are like,
Like they talk about Nick Siriani.
They talk about Nick Siriani like he's domestic terrorist.
Yeah.
And it's like.
That's what they do there.
Yeah.
How are, because I don't know any, uh, personally.
Why, I know something like at Barstall, but we don't, we don't kick it like that.
How are New England patrons fans right now?
Because like, they're not going to win a Super Bowl for the foreseeable future.
Like, they still want to kiss Drake May on the back.
Yeah.
Are they still like, man, we was that shit back in, you know what I'm saying?
Are they still like, because Calvert fans, right, like to this day are like, you know,
We did shit every year because of what they did in the past.
So like, I don't know how Patriots fans are now, but I would assume they got a similar vibe as a cowboy fan, but more warranties.
Some of them have this vibe of like no one has it worse than us because they're, they have this like ego because they've won so many times.
But then they also have this like no one has it worse than us because if we don't, if we win in like the AFC championship, like,
what that sucks way more than going like five and 12.
You're talking about Patriot fan?
Yeah.
Interesting.
Is that fair,
PFT?
I think,
I mean,
first of all,
I think Patriots fans do think that they're going to win a Super Bowl sometime soon.
Yeah.
They just got,
they got to win last year.
Yeah.
So I don't know if they're necessarily,
they're not,
you're not allowed to be that upset if you're a Patriots fan.
But if,
I understand what you're saying,
Mad Dog,
If you haven't won anything since, like, the, like, 2010, your fan base is going to get sick of the front office, like, just trying to sell you on the memories of that one year, that one season, that was good.
And everyone says, like, oh, it's not going to happen to me.
Like, if you win, if the commanders won a Super Bowl, I would, you know, I would not complain about anything that they did for the next 50 years.
That's bullshit.
You would, within two years.
The glory goes away at a certain point.
does. Yeah, like, I'm still...
I guess I just don't know because I've never even gotten close to this experience.
Right. When the Nationals won the World Series back in 2019, I was like, yeah, I'm never
going to say anything bad about the team. And then fast forward after seven years of just like
ineptness, ineptitude, actually more like five or six years before they kind of changed the
front office. It got really old, really fast, and people were furious with the Nationals, myself
included. But yeah, it, you think it won't happen to you, but it will. It will just make you
want to experience it again. Now, for you to say that it's over, I don't know if I could say
it's overrated. Like, it's got to be pretty awesome. I barely remember the Redskins winning the
Super Bowl when I was six years old or seven years old. But to experience that as an adult might be,
that must be awesome. I actually had Super Bowl on my list as an entity, not as, not winning it.
Yeah, it's not a real football game.
Yeah, I agree with that.
It doesn't feel, it feels, it's a cultural event,
but it feels like the NFL champion should be determined.
Like, they should play a secret Super Bowl the day before,
and then they still play the Super Bowl,
and they have all the pomp and circumstance,
and then after, like, that game didn't count.
The real one was yesterday, here's who won.
Yeah.
You're not wrong.
The Super Bowl, it's just a weak design,
the media.
Yeah.
There's a lot of like charades.
Half times an hour.
I mean,
the week leading up to it,
like all the players are pissed off.
They just want to have a normal week.
They've got all these media obligations they have to do.
You're stuck in a hotel under quarantine.
Now the Super Bowl halftime show,
I'm all on board with that.
You like it?
No, just being overrated and shit.
Okay.
Yeah.
Oh, I thought,
yeah,
I thought you were saying you loved it.
No, I mean,
there hasn't been one that I like,
could have done without
and this is, I can't just
one of my favorite artists
all the time.
I enjoyed the bad bunny one
but it's like I could have done
without this shit
I didn't do nothing for me.
It was cool.
And even if you really love the artist
they do 15 seconds of a song
and then they do the next song.
It's like, well,
I wanted to hear that song.
Yeah.
And the thing is like so when I like artists,
I like their niche shit.
Like their popular music
is usually the shit they're doing
to try to get attention
to their larger catalog.
And so that tends to be the shit
I don't really fuck with.
And so,
if it's an artist I really like,
it's like he's playing the shit that
everybody know that I'm not that
I think with the exception of like Michael Jackson,
that was a dope one.
But other than that, I haven't really seen
a halftime show where I'm like, I could't did without that.
They're coming out with like a documentary about Michael
Jackson's halftime show.
That means there's going to be an additional hit piece
on him because this is how it goes with the
anti-mic fans, man. They let it do this.
They let it do this.
I don't like it.
But I'm gonna watch.
They were talking about it.
They were promoting it on Dancing with the Stars last night.
So it might be a very positive spin.
You know what I'm saying?
Anytime there's any kind of like.
Oh, outside people.
Yeah, so like Michael, that movie that came out,
dope movie, that actor absolutely murdered that role.
I would say the best.
And it's, I think it's one to one with Jamie Fox,
the best biopic film that has been.
I'll probably put Jamie Fox's performance a little bit above it.
But I mean, it's this A and B for me.
That is amazing.
And then right after that, they come out with the Michael Jackson hit piece.
This is what happens all the time.
My turn?
Mm-hmm.
I was going to go originally with the 40-yard dash.
But I'm going to make that.
That's kind of a similar situation.
I like it.
I think we're just kind of naming things that.
I'm going to make it a little broader.
The NFL Combine in general.
I don't think there's any data to prove that there's any indication of a player's ability to play
and their performance in those in those pony shows.
And you were invited to that, right?
Yeah, I mean, I did.
I tested in a few of them.
I was hurt, though.
But even when I did, even when I saw cats ball in them shits,
cat had a quote unquote good combine.
It had nothing to do with whether they could play ball or not.
Like, so I was kind of known for having like a slow 40 time.
Granted, I was hurt when I ran mine, but I walked off on people who ran 4-4, ran 4-3.
I trained with cats who ran 4-4.
You used to dust them off.
Like, it's just not a good indication, especially with Jerry Rice, right?
Arguably the greatest receiver all time.
Very bad 40 times.
Okay, showing in the car, whatever.
Like, combines, I think, can, like, maybe give you an indication if a guy is nimble.
but even then there are guys who are great in those drills and suck.
Guys who suck in those drills are great.
If you look at Tom Brady's combine,
you'd be like,
he's going to be horrible.
And this is clearly not the case.
I think there are some positions where it means more.
It's not the end-all be-all.
There's a countless.
I think for the combine,
maybe running back is the position
where it probably is a better indicator
of,
productivity in the NFL in the next level.
But even then, I don't think it meets the bar of you can tell how a player is going to be.
I think the NFL combat has turned into an industry in itself, and that is what's keeping it going.
I think it's important to get guys measurables as far as height, weight, whatever case would be, medical history.
But I think at the end of the day, there ain't no test to see when a guy gets money or when a guy don't have money, when he line up against the best, how he's going to do.
There's no test for that.
There's no drill for that.
You guys got to do that.
Get thrown in the fire and see how he handles it.
And so I think the combine in general is just something that is turned it to an industry itself.
It's a moneymaker.
And they're going to continue to do it.
But it don't tell you how good a player is going to be or how bad he going to be.
PFT, who do you think ran a faster 40, Aryan or Aaron Donald?
Ooh.
I mean, you're probably asking me because Aaron Donald did.
Yeah, you nailed it.
How fast was his?
466.
That's what I'm saying.
He was in no way faster to me.
And the combine makes people make people live.
Like I get, when I was on Twitter, I used to get tagged all the time.
Aaron Foster only read a four, six, fuck out of here.
Like, Lyman was not beat me, dog.
The film speaks for itself.
I did not get hogged down.
I walked off on people.
Now, there are a few runs in my highlights where I were like, guys caught up.
But again, they don't know the backstory of those.
Like, I remember specifically one.
There was a Jaguars run.
I should have took off on.
But I felt my hammy.
about to pull so I kind of paste my run and then the next week sure enough my hammie pool
like yeah there's nuances man but I was not getting walked down by fucking de liming get out of
here combat is at my humble opinion so Madeline thinks that winning a Super Bowl sucks
arian thinks the 40s overrated what should I do next um I'm trying to all right James
Talarico
PFT you've talked about having an app for everything
I'm sick of everything being smart
I've recently been the proud
acquireer of a smart water filter
and like to get water now
I have to interact with a touch screen
and I'm told this is the best water filter you can get
it tastes like water to me
I just
everything was it the one that it went viral
the last couple of the bread of junk
Yes, yes.
So you got the, and it's just not what it is?
I know, it's great.
It tastes like water.
It's like you've, your filter status is so-and-so you've saved X amount of bottle.
It's water.
Now, have you tested it to put like juice in there to see if water?
No, I haven't.
I think you've got to do that.
I thought about it.
Do it one time for me.
I got to see what it does.
All right.
All right.
I'll find something to put in there.
Yeah.
Sunny D was what was advertised to me.
Sunny D and Sunny D is, you talk about some heavy liquid.
That shit is heavy.
Yeah.
I would like to do that. No, we'll try it. But, uh, but yeah, it's just everything is smart now. And sometimes I don't want, I don't want smart. I don't need the water filter to be smart. I don't need the fridge to be smart. Just be a fridge. I, I agree with you on that one. Appliances. Appliances were fine in 2006. They didn't need to be connected. Yeah. No, we, we were doing just fine when my toaster was one button. Why does my refrigerator need to know be connected to the Wi-Fi? It doesn't.
I got to hate it.
And then there's going to be something on the main screen of your refrigerator that's reminding you it's not connected.
Right.
If you choose to not connect it.
Yeah.
Why does it have a screen?
Good point.
A printer.
I got a printer at the house that I got to go through all these fucking loops and jumps and just I just want to print out of paper, dog.
That's it.
My daughter asked me to print something out.
I got to connect to the Wi-Fi.
Add the Bluetooth.
Go download the app and whatever, fam.
Ridiculous.
Just charging stuff.
in general. There is an app for everything. I've spoken about that. I am anti new apps for stuff
that didn't use to need apps, but just everything needs to be plugged in. Have you seen the new
Apple product, the home whatever? I see things like that. I think that's another thing I got to plug in.
It's just an iPad that you hang on the wall. It does nothing that all of the Apple screens we already have
don't already do. I plug in enough stuff over the course of my day. I don't need anything else.
I shudder to think what percentage of my life will be spent
unplugging and reconnecting various wires for charging
and for connecting things to other things.
I hate it. I'm done with it.
That's my old man Neil's a cloud thing of the day.
The more wireless charging, the better, I think.
And but in general, I'm just sick at charging stuff.
There's too much stuff that I have to think about.
It's okay to just like, uh, earphones with the core.
are fine. You don't lose them. All right. So next on my list of overrated stuff, I had a lot of
locations that I've been to that are that are very overrated. Let's all I have a location as well. So
let's just go through and do all the locations. I'm just going to, this is a big one. This is a big one.
I feel like this is something that maybe 25, 30 years ago was real hot. And then people just kind of
accepted it.
And now I think people are coming back around to being like this place is over at Starbucks.
Oh, I don't think people are thinking it's overrated.
People still love it.
They still love their box.
No, P.TM on your side.
Virtually every coffee store that I've ever been to is better than Starbucks.
Yes.
If you know, like, if you miss the super sugary stuff that you can get at Starbucks sometimes,
you can get that stuff at any other coffee store.
you just have to know what to ask for, like the ingredients that go into it.
This might be your like city slicker take because you live in a place that has a
gajillion coffee shops.
Yeah, true.
But I agree with you.
True.
Yeah, there's probably some, a lot of places where Starbucks is the only like fresh roasted
coffee place that you can go to.
But I think even most places have some sort of competitor to Starbucks or like a local place
that does coffee.
Yeah.
Coffee and breakfast.
But Starbucks just as a.
whole there's nothing special about to coffee at all I agree I agree nothing special about
the experience as a coffee a connoisseur has been drinking for years now the local
shops actually do more and like I feel like I have better coffee it's better yeah I
agree yeah but I that doesn't mean it's bad it just means it's I don't think there
should be one every half a mile in a city it's in a city block I mean there's so many
places in New York you can go to and you can like see a Starbucks from a Starbucks.
That's funny.
It is crazy.
Yeah.
That's Waffle houses in Atlanta.
Which they're across the street from each other.
Way better than Starbucks.
Well, yeah.
Yeah.
I actually had one that's the opposite of what you're describing.
Okay.
I had artisanal donut shops.
There are donut shops where you go wait for 15 minutes and I've never once, and they're like,
this is our, same thing as the brunch.
We have our flavors of the month.
It's a, it's a play on this, that, and the other.
I've never once been to one end and it'd be better than a Krispy Cream donut.
Not once.
Krispy cream's delicious, but sometimes they do too much with the donuts.
They're also six bucks a donut.
Yeah, they do too much.
It's impossible to, like, bite it without it falling apart.
It's like a work of art.
You take one bite in and the entire, all the cereal falls off it.
Yeah, exactly.
This is our fruity pebble.
Yeah, I hear you.
Glazed, yeah.
It's kind of like the crumble cookies.
Like it's not even really a cookie.
Yeah.
It's just a cake.
All right.
McKenzie, what's next for you?
Did you have other locations?
I only had Vegas as.
I thought you said you had many.
A few of mine are a location.
We're just going around.
Okay.
I have a bunch.
I didn't know how many we were doing.
Am I out?
Yep.
Vegas was the only location I had.
This one is like not actually.
And again, this is, again, this is nothing against these things, what I think is overrated.
And this is more of like the culture rather than the actual day, but birthdays.
Similar to like the wedding thing where it's always like you have to do something.
Like when my birthday comes around, I get more stressed out because I feel like I have to do something.
Yeah.
So I think the whole like culture around birthdays, birth weeks and stuff like that can be a bit much.
That's fair.
that is 100% fair
the older you get the less you care about them
that is also very true
this is like obviously circumstantial to everybody but
because when you're six there's no bigger deal
than your birthday oh yeah for sure
yeah and you think that everybody knows it's your birthday
yep
yep yeah
my wife asked me the other day if we were going
somewhere for my 30th birthday
I said well I wasn't planning on it but if unless you want to go
I'll go on a vacation I don't like
that's fine yeah but she was like
well why don't you see if some of your friends
one I was like, no. No, we're not doing that. We just went on a bachelor party six months ago.
PFT does his birthday very well. Well, it's always just in, um, it's at the Super Bowl usually.
No, but you've rented the bars out the past couple years. Oh yeah, for, for like a party. Yeah.
Just have like, get an open bar someplace. Yeah. And then everyone's happy. Yeah. And there's no real
celebration of whoever. It's just like, let's just come and let's have some drinks. Any other.
normal day. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. It's just a good Saturday. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, am I up? Yep. Okay. Um,
home ownership. Again, this might be a hating from outside the club situation. I love having, um,
someone who will fix things for me in my house that I, and I don't have to pay for said thing.
Like I obviously rent an apartment in the city of Chicago. Um, our apartment had,
water leaking through the ceiling in like four different spots like a month after we moved in.
Yeah.
You know what I did?
I put in a maintenance request.
There you go.
And then they came in.
They fixed it the next day.
I spent zero dollars on that.
I spent really zero worry on it because I'm like it's not my problem.
It's the people, my property management.
I don't had, I didn't have to put down 10 to 20 percent to own this place.
I am not locked in for years and years and years.
I can leave if I want to.
after a year. I can stay. Yep. I have the ability to not worry about certain things because they
are not in my control. My toilet's broken? Not my problem. Or like I would use my, in my last department,
I would use my maintenance request for the most benign of things like one of my screws is loose
on a cabinet. Can you come fix this? I don't, do you think I have a toolbox? No, no. And it's not your
problem and it's not my problem because i don't own this place you're not wrong i don't own the screws
that are in my cabinets and i really appreciate that like i'm getting to the age now where a couple of
my friends are owning homes and buying houses and stuff and they'll be like yeah you know our water
heaters out just 14 grand or 14 000 where are you getting 14 000 right i like what are we
doing how much money are you making that you can put 14 grand into like a random Tuesday it's uh you're you're
not wrong i mean there there's a lot of upside to owning a home as well that goes with it but like day to day
yeah it can be a pain in the ass stuff breaks down you got to find somebody they can fix it you got
to schedule that it's it's a big process i was literally my next thing was home ownership
really i don't see the like huge i understand like owning stuff and this is such a jack mac like
you will own nothing and you will be happy take because i was i don't see the like huge i understand like owning stuff
because I'm like I don't I don't care that like I don't have a home in my own name.
I don't I don't have a car.
I don't have a house.
Like I don't really own anything besides like my clothes.
But it's like I don't I don't really yearn for the process of owning something legally.
Well, the thing is if you don't buy a cash, you don't buy outright.
You basically just.
The bank owns it.
Yeah.
And it's like you pay a mortgage and like you can default on loan.
Like a lot of different things can happen.
But even then, like, so I bought my house cash, so I don't owe anything on it.
But it's a fucking day-to-day headache.
And I'm not saying if people who are trying to do this, it's not worth it.
I'm saying it is a headache.
It is an absolute headache to own a home.
The constant maintenance, the constant work on it, the constant stuff.
And I would say owning a home in general, it's fine.
Owning a big home, ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
because you don't need the space.
You don't, the maintenance is ridiculous.
You don't end up using all of the stuff
and all of the space in there.
It's extremely, I believe, overrated
than owning a nice, modest house.
Or renting the rest of my life.
Now that I am I'm on, I don't know that I would.
We don't own shit.
When you die, you give it up anyway.
Oh, shit.
I guess the biggest thing is, like, people will say,
and again, especially when I go home to Cleveland
and people can own homes pretty easily compared to like obviously Chicago and people tell me
what they pay for their mortgage compared to what I pay for my rent for my my tiny little apartment.
I do get a little bit like, damn, and you got a second floor and like you four bedrooms and three
bathrooms.
Like I get a little bit like, damn, that's a lot of space for the same amount of money I pay.
But also the upside of I feel like living in Chicago and living downtown is, or you know, in a neighborhood here is so.
awesome, but like, I got upstairs.
It's scary.
The only time I go upstairs is my kid spill something or I got to fix something.
I don't go up there.
There's no reason we go up there.
So it's a waste like my kids need a place to stay.
So that I guess it's fine from that perspective.
Other than that, I don't go upstairs.
I got a homeboy who don't have kids who has this big ass house, like $2 million house.
And we went to go visit him, beautiful, gorgeous property.
upstairs, they never up there.
You could, the, the floors was still vacuumed from whenever I got clean last.
Like, there's just no traffic up there.
So it's just like, it isn't extremely overrated.
I would say, I'll say, owner of the house is fine.
Owning a big home, waste of fucking time, spacing, buddy.
My opinion.
Is your bedroom on the ground floor?
Absolutely.
Interesting.
That was purpose when I was decided what a house to pick.
I knew after a while, I'm going to get tired of going up and down the stairs.
So wherever I'm going to be, I'm going to be there majority of time.
So downstairs, absolutely.
Yeah.
I mean, honestly, a space that I actually occupy, I can live in a small little shack.
I go from my room to the living room and to the kitchen.
I don't go to where I don't be in the backyard like that.
Don't be in a front yard like that.
I just be chilling.
There are definitely some advantages, though, to owning a home.
Sure.
When you talk about, like, familiar.
wealth that you would have passed on, like shit like that.
I get it 100%.
But I'm saying, it's kind of overrated.
There's a lot of pains in the ass that go along with it.
Oh my God, yes.
I got getting the door.
My screen doors both got chewed up by this motherfucking beautiful dog that I got.
He always shits.
Yeah, how's he doing?
The concrete.
He never shits on the grass where I would love for him to shit.
They always shits in the concrete part of the driveway.
So I can't even back my car.
out because if I do, I mean, I'll get shitty smell in my garage what happened to work out in.
My son was working out and he accidentally left the garage door open.
Come back.
He pissed all over the mats in my workout area.
He pitched all over the floor in the garage.
He shit three times overnight.
So, wait, your dog poops in your driveway in your front yard?
No, in the back.
But it's how it's set up.
It's like the garage is in the back.
And it goes through my yard into the front yard.
Okay, got it.
Yeah.
Yeah, how's he doing?
Say hi to him for me.
He's good.
He just got neutered.
So he's on drugs.
But, yeah, so he's fine.
He's, we're good.
We're chilling, man.
I like him.
It's just he's a lot sometimes.
So sometimes he needs to time out, man.
Sometimes it's like, I can't deal with you right now, don't.
They need structure.
I agree with that, yes.
And the good thing is like he loves being around us.
And we love being around him.
But it's like sometimes like he's just like that big fucking goofy guy that doesn't know
if big he is.
And so he just like tramples over some of the kids sometimes.
And it's just like, dog, you've got the chill.
So I'm waiting on a day where he just doesn't have.
I don't even know what it will be.
But he just doesn't have.
The neutering will help.
That's what I've heard.
We'll see.
Fucker.
Yeah.
He's just relentless with it.
Want to play?
Like he's just.
Just such a fucking puppy, though.
Way too big.
Way too big, though.
But we're dealing.
We're fine.
We're chilling.
We're chilling.
We love them.
Aaron, I've got a question for you about an athlete that some may regard as being overrated.
And I don't want to disparage anybody because to play running back in the NFL at a high level takes a lot of skill.
Relatively.
Relatively.
But when I was, I think, in college, there was an MVP was on the,
cover of Madden, Sean Alexander.
Oh, no.
Because he had a few good seasons for Seattle.
Not overrated.
And then the numbers and the accolades kind of went away.
And so everyone's referred to him as being an overrated running back because they had a great
offensive line, which they did, the Seattle's had a great offensive line.
But you were saying that he is not overrated as running back.
No, he was that guy.
Like when you watch him run, he was very patient running.
or very strong runner.
And I think when you look at guys who don't have like speed, like long speed,
they tend to fizzle out faster because they're,
if they ever get a half a step slower,
it's a significant change.
Right.
So like if you look at somebody like Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson, right,
they were so fast that their steps slower was still extremely relatively fast to other
running backs, right?
And they can still be very productive.
But I feel like he was probably a little bit more slower.
And so his half a step slower was more.
it's probably a little bit more easy to manage.
And plus the load, he played in the era where he was getting 300 carries in season.
That takes a toll.
It just, if you look at the statistics and the mathematics behind it, that just takes a toll after a long time.
Like, like, after you have 300 carry seasons, like, you tend to lose production
because it's just, it's hard on the body to take that much heat.
But when he was in it, he was, yeah, he was absolutely one of the best, absolutely.
Not, not overrated.
another cat that I was just going to say he won the MVP in 2005 and he had 1,880 yards rushing 27 touchdowns rushing that's not an accident that's that's a killer and then I think it's because the year after he won the MVP the production fell way off so we had 370 attempts in 2005 that's crazy amount of work dog 5.1 yards per carry that's a lot that's so many carries come on and then the next year he had 370 attempts in 2005 that's crazy amount of work dog 5.1 yards per carry that's a lot that's so many carries come on and then the next year he had
252 attempts, 3.6 yards per carry, 896 yards, and seven touchdowns. So it was like a very
stark contrast. He also missed six games the next year, but it was a very stark contrast to like
what we had just seen. So a lot of people have just said, hey, this guy's overrated.
Yeah, no, I absolutely not. It's just taking that, take taking that, I mean, I thought about
putting this on my list on my overrated list in general, but I think quarterbacks can be
overrated in general and their importance to the game. Because if they were treated like
other players on the field, they wouldn't have the longevity that they do, which is why they
protect them because they feel like quarterbacks are the stars of the league. So they feel like
they have to protect them. People that carry the rock like that don't have that protection.
And it's just a violent game. These are trained people that are
putting in work day in and day out to hit you,
that takes its toll on somebody.
So you have runnybacks with shorter careers.
So somebody like Emmett Smith, right, he gets touted like overrated.
I think Emmett Smith is underrated because he had such a good line.
People think, oh, that's why he had.
You put Barry on that line.
Yeah, you put Barry in the line.
He probably has even more stellar career.
but Emmett Smith was that fucking guy.
Emmett Smith, if you look at a lot of his highlights
are him doing unimaginable shit.
Like evading guys, multiple mistackles, shaking dudes.
He was amazing.
I think he's a victim.
I mean, Hall of favor, all-time leader of Russia.
It's crazy that some people call him overrated.
But I think, and that's crazy.
I think he's underrated because he was.
was so dominant and so good, but his line was equally good that I think his talent kind of got
overshadowed when you think of his legacy.
Emma Smith was amazing, and he's way understated when you talk about top runnerbacks all the time.
I would agree with that.
Just because he's underrated doesn't mean that like Barry Sanders.
Yeah.
Isn't also like maybe more underrated.
Yeah.
I mean, a lot of that like Barry Sanders is like, good, my favorite runnerback all time, him, Eric Dickerson.
I go back in four between those two.
But Barry Sanders had the most negative yards plays of all time of any runnerback.
So he had a lot of inefficient plays.
Now, granted, his line wasn't as good as, but his running style was conducive to a lot of negative plays.
Like that shaking and shit, you see the highlights when you watch a lot of the games.
Like sometimes we've got coached, like sometimes a negative game or a one-yard game is way better.
like it's a good play rather than taking five six yard losses but yep yeah uh also
Sean Alexander just read this he is expecting his 14th child let's go with his wife be fruitful
and multiply right just one wife one wife they've had 14 kids together that's impressive man
yeah not the not the actually they had the they had the child so this was they announced on
September 25th, 2025
that they're expecting their 14th child.
No, that happened anymore.
So congrats to
them. Is she ever not been pregnant?
No. Because it looks like
they married in 2002.
So yeah, she's been, there have been times
when she's not pregnant. It's like, but she has been
pregnant every other year.
Equally as often as not the entire time they've been married.
Since, for the last 24 years. Yeah.
24 years and that's like 12 years of four.
Yeah, about 12 years of pregnancies total.
Some women like that shit.
Like, some women like enjoy being pregnant,
like the feeling it brings, like all of this, they enjoy it.
Yeah.
Good for them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think it's me or is Maddie?
You.
I think it's you.
All right.
Sports drinks.
Yep.
Over.
Except for body armor.
As fuck.
Now.
There's a count.
caveat here. If you're a sports player with high volume exercise, losing massive amounts of
sweat, they can be and usually are beneficial. Gatorade, not really that good for you as a high
volume athlete. Lots of sugar. Just not a good drink for you. Now, if you work out three times a week,
if you're a regular cat
this is a regular human getting regular exercise
sports drinks you don't need to drink them
the risks far outweigh
the benefits for you you're not losing that much sweat
so hydration is potassium magnesium and sodium
the amount of sodium that they put in these drinks
and if you are at any risk for any kind of hypertension
high blood pressure
stroke, heart attack.
You don't need to be drinking
no sports drinks at all
ever, you don't need it.
It's marketed as you play and pick up
basketball, you need some get it. No, you don't.
Just drink some tap water. You'll be fine.
Drink some tap water and
eat your regular diet
meal that you always, your regular diet
that you have. You'll have more
than enough of the
magnesium and sodium
and potassium that you need to stay hydrated.
Massively over.
operated, way over marketed.
Liquid IVs, you don't need them as a regular patron.
This is not for you.
They're marketed to you, but you do not need them.
They are causing more harm than they are helping people be hydrated.
You don't need it.
Except for body armor flash IV.
Except for body armor flash IV if you're very hungover.
So I say all that, say.
Oh, there's another one.
Element?
Uh, no.
Element.
Yeah, element, element.
So I, my stepdad, I had had a can in my house.
And he was just looking at the ingredients.
And he, mind you, for those I don't know, he's a PhD geneticist.
He looks at the can.
He goes, oh, my fucking God.
He said, if I drink this, I'll die.
He has high blood pressure stuff like that.
It had a thousand milligrams of sodium in it.
Yep.
And for people who are at risk or that, you don't need that shit,
You just don't need it.
So all in all, sports drinks, if you're not a high volume exercise athlete, losing massive amounts of sweat, you do not need it.
Yep.
They might even lead to some kidney stones if you drink too much of the pedolyte stuff.
There you go.
Yeah.
I suspect that's how I got it because I used to drink like one of those almost every day.
and I eat a lot of sodium too
it was soup season
I mean we oversaw all our foods
in America anyway
like we have high sodium
content in our foods
so you get way more
than the daily recommended amount
from any normal meal that you eat fast food
it's packed and loaded with sodium
you don't need and then like soft drinks
I mean go look at the back of a soft drink
it has a whole bunch of sodium in it
You don't need, you don't need, you don't need sports.
You're fine.
Yep.
All right, Big T, you got any other big ones?
Yeah, I'm trying to, we're not going to get to all these, I don't think.
Airport lounges.
Okay.
They let everyone in now.
The food stinks.
They string the game?
Well, I'd rather just get to the airport.
I timed it up so perfectly the other day.
I walked in as the flight was boarding.
I mean, that's, that's what you did.
That's usually what I do.
Yeah.
It's a stale bagel.
I guess if you want like four of the six ounce mini diet Coke, like it's a great place to go.
Other, it's not a, it's not a particularly enjoyable experience.
Yep.
I would agree with that.
I will say I just did it for the first time on an international flight, which that makes more sense to me because you like get to the airport earlier.
Mm-hmm.
But I do agree with you.
Not only that.
So much dry food.
I was at my my my my I booked a one-way flight from Houston Argentina fine on the way back they had no straight flights I had to fly to Panama City to Houston and the only flight that they booked me on first of all I had a like a four or five-hour delay so then they had to book me on another flight and that flight was a four-hour delay so I'm in the airport 10 hours I yeah I needed lounge though and it that's it came
in handy. I slept and I needed to sleep. But other than that, you're right. I had a similar
situation in Hawaii and like we were the United Lounge at the Honolulu Airport, by the way, not a good
spot. No? No. But yeah, if you're just like regular, you're just, just get there. People get to
the airport too early. You can get there 30 minutes before the flight boards and I've never had a
problem. I agree. Especially if you have clear.
Oh, that's the best shit ever.
Clear.
Clear is better than pre-check, by the way.
Pre-check overrated.
But if you have both, though.
Yeah.
There's sometimes, like, you'll, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays,
airport be packed sometimes, depending on where you're at,
like super packed to where it's like it could be a problem.
But if you got clear and pre-check, you're good to go.
Yeah, I don't care.
I'll go through the line or through the security.
I just want to skip the line.
I don't feel you.
I'm fine, which is clear.
I feel that.
And precheck, another thing they let everybody have now.
Everybody's got precheck lines longer than the regular line.
Everybody does have.
I want, Kanye said this once,
and I saw it for the first time.
There was a like 20 minute wait for the clear line, right?
Everybody wasn't clear.
But the regular first class passenger line had like three people in it.
And I'm like, just go to the fucking.
And these are people who were first class passengers
because the other side was the economy.
So I'm like, you're waiting.
in a line that is clearly packed because you have it.
But if you just go,
so I just went over and I was right through.
That was boggling to mind boggling to me.
So something I've noticed is that they,
a lot of times they'll make you go if you have precheck.
They'll like stop you when you're going through
and be like precheck's down there.
And if you're like, I can't go on this.
They give you a hard time about it sometimes.
Really?
I've always only experienced it where it's an option.
I can go.
to the pre-check my if I want to.
They've given me a hard time about it before.
They're like, why are you going through this line?
They're like pre-checks down there, sir.
That's interesting.
Maybe they just think you're making, that you don't know.
No, I've said like, I know.
I think ultimately they have to let you through.
But yeah, I don't know what it is, what the incentives are at that,
I think it's at O'Hare that I've had it a few times.
What's up with the new taking your picture thing, by the way, also?
Yeah, they just, that's.
Isn't that the whole point of looking at my identification?
Yeah, it's not good.
Isn't it so if something happens, they have record of youth going through the TSA?
Yeah, well, that's what they say, but...
If what happens?
Like, if you're a terrorist?
It's also just that if the government has facial scanning technology, so...
Apparently you can deny it.
I did once, they take you through a whole rigamarole.
It's, it's, they make it not worth it to do.
Took me an extra 10 minutes.
Anyway.
Yep.
A lot of stuff at the airport overrated.
Yep. Continental breakfast, overrated.
Mm.
In a lounge or like a just...
Just at a hotel.
I agree.
Yogurt and bagels and fruit.
I enjoy breakfast from time to time.
I used to like, I used to love the waffles.
No, it's not good stuff.
The waffle mix used to be better.
They've cheaped out in the last five years, 10 years on waffle mix.
You think?
Yes, they used to be delicious waffles.
and you can make your own.
It's kind of a fun treat.
I had, like, obviously, like the pre-packaged syrup and butter was not the best syrup that you'd ever have, but whatever, you're on the road.
The waffles used to taste better.
Now they taste like mealy.
No flavor.
Somewhere along the lines, I cheaped out on that mix.
I'll do some recon next month.
Let me know.
Okay.
Let me know what you see.
If you like day-old bagels and, like, watery milk for your cereal, that's all crumbles because it's,
the end of the bag.
Then a continental breakfast is for you.
The waffles used to be better.
I promise you they used to be better.
I don't recall.
The Applevision Pro, overrated.
Is it even rated at all?
Yeah, see, I don't think it's rated.
Erin and I have discussed this.
Yeah, we knew that though.
That was a low-hanging fruit right there.
Very low-hanging fruit.
Yeah.
Nobody even has it to be able to rate it.
Besides you two.
Jackets in the summer.
Jackets in summer.
Overrated.
Oh, really.
The Super Bowl.
Winning the Super Bowl.
Yeah.
Overrated.
90% of lunch meat turkey.
Respect.
Unless it's from a turkey that you see and you pull it apart and it's in the sandwich,
turkey socks.
What about?
Thinly sliced buffalo turkey boarshead.
That's it.
That's good stuff.
Smoke.
I'm saying 90% of lunch meat turkey sucks.
No, I love it.
The good stuff.
is good. The bad stuff is just...
I'm with you. Carboard. I'm with you.
It can get very... It gets slimy.
Yeah. It's not gamey. It's like, it's just...
It tastes like a lunch room.
I feel with you. I feel like... Yeah. But like, there are sometimes where you can get a nice,
like, from a butcher, like, a real nice cut of, like, smoked turkey. That's pretty fantastic.
I want you in Turkey in general. Like, because we don't even as a family,
we don't do Thanksgiving with Turkey's name or we do brisket. But...
I feel like you can find some good slices every now on there.
You're right, though.
I'm not saying all turkey.
Hashtag not all turkeys.
Yeah, not all turkeys, just most.
Per capita.
Anybody got anything else they're very fired up about being overrated?
Yeah, I'll just run through my list real quick.
We did this years ago, but ice cream, it's a supplemental dessert.
It's not the star.
Russell Westbrook, very inefficient score, never won anything.
didn't play well with others.
Movie universes.
I'm just,
we don't got to talk about it in depth.
That motherfucker was bad, though.
Go ahead.
Overrated is crazy.
He was overrated.
He's going to be a first battle hall of fame.
I guarantee it.
That's crazy if that happens.
I take that bet what you won't bet.
No, no, no.
That might happen.
I'm just saying that that's nuts.
That's not nuts.
He's one of the most dynamic,
explosive players this league has ever seen.
okay he's a great athlete outstanding athlete but uh movie universes i don't like
okay yeah that in order to see a movie they're like oh have you seen the 13 previous they all
relate to one another don't like that this one's not technically canon because i's not hate
hate and i don't like superhero movies in general which is what most of that falls into so that
that's a whole thing uh Nashville okay uh it's it's a good town to live in like if you have kids like
it's a nice place, but like when people are like, I'm going to Nashville, what should I do?
I'm like, I don't know, do you like alcohol? They've got a lot of that and go see a fake Parthenon.
Like, it's not, it's not a great, like, it's not what people make it up to be in terms of like a fun place.
Watches. I don't get, I don't get like $400,000 watch. If you, if you have a $2,000 watch, like, okay, I understand a nice.
Yeah. But still a lot of money to spend on a watch. Yeah.
But if you're rich, whatever.
But like the crazy exorbitant watch, I don't understand.
Wine, uh, it tastes bad.
Red wine just tastes like shit, uh, full stop.
And then white wine just tastes like bad, angry orchard.
You just drink an angry orchard.
Camus.
Yeah, he's bugging with the red wine shit, but I, uh, the television show friends.
None of it's funny.
I'm okay.
Uh, if you ever watch it without the laugh track.
I think it's funny, but I'm with you, it's overrated.
I think it's funny.
Uh, and music festivals.
Why are we standing?
Agreed. Yeah.
That also might be an age thing.
When I see a...
No, he's of the age where he's supposed to go to music.
Yeah, no, I'm the target demo.
When I see an artist that I like and they're like, oh, he's in Chicago soon.
Great. Can't wait to go to that.
Oh, it's at the...
Lollapalooza?
Yeah, whatever festival.
Well, not going to that.
Yeah, I think I would agree with you on the music festival thing.
Just seeing like a crowd that large.
It's my initial reaction is get me as far away from that as possible.
I don't know.
Some of your other stuff I would disagree with.
I think some red wine tastes good.
I'm not a wine guy.
Yeah.
I know people love it.
That's why I said so worried it.
That's true.
Yeah.
And it's your list.
All right.
Anything else?
Any other big ones?
Yeah.
American health care system.
Nationalism.
I don't think that's race.
well.
Still overrated.
For whatever it's rated, it's still overrated.
Nationalism and freedom.
Run me through that last one.
Freedom?
All right.
So I think freedom's overrated because the idea of freedom that people have in this
country, they don't actually have.
And so.
But you didn't say people's idea that you said freedom.
Yes.
I think actual freedom is an overrated idea.
because we bang for the idea of freedom and we don't actually have freedom.
You don't have freedom right now.
You are a slave to your occupation, which is a means to feed yourself and have a roof over your head.
So that's not actual freedom.
Also, I think if people actually had freedom, it would scare the shit out of them.
If you just didn't have anything to answer to, no one to answer to you and your day-to-day, once and needs were taken care of,
the free time would drive you back shit crazy.
The majority of people out, I'm saying.
I think some people have felt this and do feel this if you have reached the top of the financial ladder.
And a contingent, I guess, overrated thing would be money.
But again, I think unless you've gotten there, it's hard to argue the opposite of it.
because I've seen both sides, and it sounds pompous from somebody who's saying,
yeah, it's easy for you to say, well, yeah, because I've done it.
I've seen both sides.
I've seen poverty in America and I've seen wealth in America.
And I think wealth in America is overrated, and I think it leads to a lot of depression.
I think there's a soft spot where I think data says it's like 75 grand a year,
where anything after that can't buy you any more happiness.
But overall, I think if people actually had free time on their hand,
it was scared shit at you.
That's why I think about death
the majority of my day.
Because I don't have anybody to answer to.
I don't have anything to do
but think about things.
It's where philosophy comes from.
They just sat around, ate, drink,
and thought about life.
And it's some of those deep,
introspective things that you could do.
And I think it's a clear luxury.
I'm not saying it's not luxury.
But I think it is
human beings, in my experience,
craves structure.
And the proof of that,
that is like religion, right?
I would argue that it was man-made
and it was all made up.
But it's so powerful
that need for structure
that it has taken a hold
of entire societies
and grew into this
unfalsifiable truth
that this is how you're supposed
to live life.
And it gives people meaning of purpose,
which is like a self-fulfilling prophecy,
which furthers my point,
which I think freedom is overrated.
I don't think people actually want freedom.
or need it.
I guess it depends, like, a big definition of freedom,
because you're always going to have forces in your life
that encourage people to do certain things,
whether that be because of consequences of what it is you do
or just, like, society norms.
Yeah.
So, like, that's what part of my argument is, like, societal norms would be,
like, if I wanted to punch you in the face,
it's my freedom to do that, right?
That's my freedom.
I want to do that.
But there are consequences to that.
And there's bad ramifications to that, demonstrably, everybody would argue, but that's not real freedom.
You don't have the freedom to do whatever you want because there are consequences to your actions.
So I would argue that freedom, real freedom, is not even healthy.
You need structure and you need boundaries as a human and as a productive society, I would argue.
I think you can be in a society but also have freedom on how you act within that society,
but it's not like every day you wake up and you can do whatever the fuck you want all the time.
that would be freedom.
I guess true freedom.
You have there are no consequences for any actions.
Yeah, I think that's, that part's definitely true.
Yes, I agree.
Yeah.
All right, anything else?
It's been good lists.
I don't like beer.
You don't like beer?
Yeah, I'm okay with this too, yeah.
I like beer.
I like beer.
I think boys, like,
I think boys, like, overestimate how good beer is,
and then it makes your stomach hurt and bloated.
Well, most of them are just pretending.
Yeah.
I like beer.
I'm on my Cavanaugh here.
Like you like the taste of beer.
I like beer.
I like drinking beer.
If beer didn't have alcohol in it, you would drink it.
Hmm.
I have drank non-alcoholic beer before.
And I have enjoyed it before.
But you would never drink non-alcoholic beer with a meal.
I have drank it with a meal.
That's interesting.
Okay.
I can't argue that.
I have.
I've drank it with chicken wings before.
When I didn't feel like drinking a bunch of beers getting hungry.
over and I was like, you know what? I'm going to have non-alcoholic beer with my chicken wings
tonight and I had two and they take the first one tasted good, so I got another one. That's
I can't believe that even exists. It's kind of it's like non-alcoholic beer is kind of like,
you kind of an alcohol. Well, I think that's what it's made for. Yeah. It's a nicotine pet.
I think I used it in the exact way that the brewers like to sit back and think to themselves that
most people are using their non-alcoholic products for.
You know, sometimes people just casually don't want to drink a beer with alcohol.
They like the taste of our product.
So here it is without alcohol.
I was the rare example where that's true as opposed to the person that's like,
I cannot drink alcohol because if I do, it's going to be a problem.
Fair enough.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
But yeah, it isn't.
And to follow up on that real quick, I haven't done it since then.
I don't do it on a regular basis.
Because you don't like it that.
I did it literally one time.
Yeah, and it wasn't bad.
You like that it's an alcohol delivery system.
I like that, yeah, it gives you a little buzz.
It loosens you up a little bit.
Sure.
I agree. I'm not even a beer drinker, but every now and then, like a cold beer on a hot day, that shit hit the spot.
Yeah, I think it can taste good.
It doesn't always taste good.
It can taste good.
And you also associate the taste with being relaxed.
So it's like a little bit of both.
Who's to say if you like to taste or if your brain has kind of,
mash them up into one joint experience of having a buzz while you're drinking this and also enjoying the flavor.
Fair enough.
Except for Natty Light.
I refuse to believe people enjoy that shit.
You're about Natty Ice?
That's the one.
Natty Ice.
There you go.
Natty Ice.
Yeah.
That struggle.
5.9.
Do we, I don't want to do any voicemails today, but did the voicemail person from last time called that?
Oh, I should.
Let me look.
I'm just curious to know.
Oh, wait, he called back.
Should I get it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
So, okay.
Here.
To reset, this is the guy that called in on Tuesday's episode, but we responded to
this guy's call on Tuesday, and we were curious as to if there was anything that's
being left out or some follow up on it.
So I'm glad that he called back.
So let's, first of all.
I don't know what he said, but we're going to play the first voicemail.
Hey, Macrodotes and crew.
This is Kyle from New Jersey.
I'm in a little bit of a dilemma that I need help with.
I hope you can help.
So I'll try to make it as short as possible.
I found out my girlfriend of three years
that I've also been living together for the last year and a half
I've slept with someone recently.
I think this is the only time, but who really knows?
The relationship has been rocky for the last year, I'd say.
We fought a few times, but a couple months ago, we had a bad fight,
and I said if you don't clean up your act,
I want to terminate the lease.
She got all upset and things that I broke up with her then, even though we had a few conversations stating that this isn't the case.
But, well, anyway, I've been telling her to clean up after herself because she's been a slob and that she needs to put more effort in things because she's always late to work.
It doesn't help me around the house with chores, errands, and stuff like that, which affected relationship.
Biggest issue was we haven't had sex in over a year.
And honestly, if I was getting some, 95% of these problems when it was.
exist. But anyway, so she's been acting shady and I went through her phone and that's how I
found out. She doesn't know that I know and she left for a work trip. So I've been moving
stuff out of my apartment, out of our apartment since. My problem is I feel guilty doing this.
Like moving, looking back at the relationship, I feel like I could have been a better boyfriend at
times, but also she really could have done so much better. Like, I feel the bare minimum
wasn't met with her. So she did be unforgivable, so I feel this is the only option.
So when she comes back in a few days, she's going to be in her real surprise. Am I handling this
right? I really don't know. But thank you guys for listening. Stay handsome, stay beautiful,
stay gorgeous. All right. Bye, guys. Right now, we just played the first voicemail. Let's
jump in to the brand new one that we got that we haven't listened to yet.
Hey, I'm going to go through. This is Kyle. You guys said you wanted me to call back. I'd like to say it.
The story is true, but this happened seven years ago right before COVID. I told the story because
on TNC, you guys are talking about repeat, not Rushmore, and Hank said he had all of his previous
answers on his note app. So I was curious on what I had in the archives and I found this story.
I put it on Reddit because I was unsure what to do at the fine and needed advice.
I did this because I never left the voicemail here and thought it was juicing enough for a conversation.
So how it ended with, I only took my stuff, I didn't touch anything of hers.
And then after the dust settled, we talked things out and remained friends.
We don't see each other a lot, but we actually still didn't talk times of time.
We were both kids, so I think that's why we forgave each other.
You guys really went on me.
Went in on me.
More it did,
which is pretty immature.
But when I posted this on Reddit,
I remember getting encouragement for what I did.
Even got comments saying I didn't do enough.
It's whatever.
It's the past.
The goal for informed from it.
Therapy helped too.
But fast forward to now,
I'm engaged and getting married in April,
so everyone,
it's always a happy ending.
All right.
Stay beautiful, stay handsome,
stay gorgeous.
Bye everyone.
That's quite a plot twist.
Yeah.
Okay, so I'm...
Seven years ago.
I'm glad that it all worked out in the long run for this guy.
And, uh, yeah, we did kind of, we did go in on him a little bit, but we're just being
honest.
I think that he probably looks back at that and he's like, okay, I was seven years ago,
kind of immature the way I handled it.
Maybe he thinks that.
Maybe not.
But he did say that Reddit encouraged him so that you need to do more.
I didn't hear that part.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, I mean, it does sound like,
a lot of relationships that a lot of people have been in when they're younger
and it's just like very chaotic and you stay in it a little bit too long
we all go through that it can drive you crazy
I'm glad that it all worked out I guess in the best possible scenario
kind of an anticlimactic ending though
I thought we had a real what did you want
I was on the edge of my seat
turns out I should have been on the edge of my seat when I was 20
Yeah, well, that's a positive update
Yeah
Very good update, yeah, I'm glad
I'm glad he's doing okay
I can't believe they're still friends
Yeah, that's that is kind of a surprising thing to me
Yeah, that is crazy
Cooler heads prevailed
Yeah, yeah
Because even if being in his situation
If someone cheated on me, that's, I'm never
Talking to you again
Yeah, that was a part of it where I understood
Like he was acting slightly immature
but also it comes from the place of being hurt by being cheated on.
All right.
Well, I appreciate you guys.
Thank you for listening and let us know what you think is overrated.
Shout us out.
And until next week, love you guys.
Goodbye.
Encourage the University of Tennessee to schedule a game against James Madison
and we will stop cutting off their statue's heads.
Let this be a warning.
You have 24 hours.
Seems like a bit much.
Love you guys.
