Hey everyone, welcome to our first episode. You may know Cassie and I from our marketing happy
hour sessions on Clubhouse, where we were able to chat with marketing experts from some of our
favorite brands like Taco Bell, Bumble, FabFitFun, Rare Beauty,
Jenny's Ice Creams, Universal Studios, and more. Oh, and don't forget NASA. That was out of this
world. I love it. We wanted to create an on-demand way to tune into these amazing conversations. So
here we are, and we're so excited. Think of us as your BFFs in the
marketing industry. Friends you can lean on for support and ask advice anytime. We'd love to hear
your questions for our upcoming guests. So please follow along on our Marketing Happy Hour Instagram
at Marketing Happy Hour with HR at the end, and send us a DM anytime. You may be thinking, okay, cool.
But who are you guys?
That's a fantastic question. So I've prepared a rapid fire list of questions for us to answer quickly.
Are you ready, Cass?
Woo, I am.
Okay, so what is your favorite food?
Definitely Thai food.
Oh my gosh, I love Thai food.
And my answer for this is kind of weird. But it is really true. My favorite foods are garlic and red onions. If you put a dish in front of me with either of those on them, I will eat it up so fast. Literally my favorite.
Yeah.
What is your favorite color? Definitely green, but not like a bright,
stark green. I kind of like that earthy green color. We are so similar. My favorite color is
sage green. So basically the same thing. Yeah. Okay. What is the best piece of advice that
anyone's ever given you? Oh, this is a good one. So definitely when I was kind of contemplating quitting my full-time
job to start my own business, I had kind of a few people telling me to just go ahead and go for it.
But it's something simple, but just go for it. You know, if it's something you're considering
doing and you feel like you should be doing it, just try it out. And worst case scenario, you do something else later. I love that. That's such good advice.
My biggest piece of advice that I've ever received is it can be done tomorrow, which
might sound like some kind of procrastinator's life motto. But really, it just means don't
stress over things that will still be there tomorrow and ready for you to tackle then. Sometimes taking a break is exactly what you need to get
a fresh perspective on the issue or the task at hand. And that has been such a lifesaver in such
stressful situations at work, with friends, with family, all sorts of things, just enjoying the
moment. And then revisiting something that might
be stressing you out is always so helpful. Yes, I needed to hear that. And then finally,
our favorite question of all, the one that we ask all of our guests, as this is marketing happy hour,
what is in your glass tonight? Oh, my glass is a hard cider hard cider as always if it's not that it's an
a broll spritz uh from a local restaurant and those are two of my favorites oh yeah we are so
similar with that which is why we get along well and we go to the best restaurants and get the best drinks. I was gonna say my drink is typically a hard
seltzer of some kind love a good watermelon hard seltzer or a Negroni. That's my go to.
My favorite. Yes, yes, yes. Well, that is pretty much it for the introduction. But before we go,
here is a preview of what you can expect from the podcast
I like it's all about just being bold and ask what I want honesty on like you know when I have
my weeklies with my boss I'll be like hey listen I don't feel great about where this event is at
right now which thankfully doesn't happen that rarely but it's so much better just to kind of get it off my chest
and be honest about it and then like,
and be consistent about it.
Like, hey, listen, we're still in the red on this.
And then that way, at least, you know,
no one's surprised when, you know,
if something doesn't go the way it's supposed to.
So honesty and being bold, I think,
are the two most important things
that I wish I knew earlier.
