Starting point is 00:00:00 Thanks for what you do with your podcasts and all the rest. You're doing a great job. Hope everybody keeps tuning in. You get a lot of good info, a lot of insights, understandings on how to get strong, how to stay strong, how to use your strength. You do a great job, dude. You make things better than they are in real life, I think. If you don't follow Massanomics, y'all do it. Social media, website, everything. Massastinomics! Welcome everyone for episode 456 of the Mastinomics podcast, the lifting podcast about nothing. My name is Tanner. And my name is Tommy. We're recorded from our usual corners of the Dakotas and this week's episode, very special episode, we break this out only a couple times a year maybe. It's a call-in episode or as
Starting point is 00:00:56 we like to call it a call-out episode. We do not have the technology for call-in episodes so we strictly do call-out episodes. We like not have the technology for call-in episodes, so we strictly do call-out episodes. We like to run the show in more ways than one. So we've got, quite honestly, probably more people than we can get to, but half of them won't answer. So I think that'll wipe 50% of them off the list. We'll hear a lot of unanswered rings probably as we go along and a few that answer and a few that we actually
Starting point is 00:01:29 get to talk to. But first, this episode is brought to you by our fine friends over at the Strength Co. I know I don't want to put words in their mouth, but I'm sure they're wishing you all a very merry liftmas this year. And they'd love if you checked out the strength co That's where they sell their made in America Olympic iron plates. They've also got their bumper plates
Starting point is 00:01:50 Tommy you got some bumper plates around I do get some other plates around Yeah, some strength co bumper plates. We also got a set of those on a little wheeled cart at Mastinomics Gym they get busted out from time to time, but Their claim to fame gets used every single day in massonomics gym is their iron plates they are the best they look the best they have a feel they have an aesthetic that can't be beat and they're actually really affordable and they have quite honestly their lowest shipping costs ever right now at the strength dot co this episode is also brought to you by barefoot Shoes. If you head over to Barefoot.store you
Starting point is 00:02:25 can check out the best dang Barefoot shoes on the market today. They have a lot of options ranging from low top suede and canvas shoes to high top and also work boots and the work boots are available in their standard design or there's also a made in America Patriot design as well. Tanner and I are big fans of the Ursus shoe. We have both the low top and the high top, and lately the low top has been our daily drivers, the canvas with the gum sole, clean, classic look. Big fans of that one.
Starting point is 00:02:56 If you go on barefoot shoes, they also have the Ursus Gen 2 available with a new redesigned sole. That's on pre-order right now. It looks like it's got just a little beefier sole to it. It gives you a slightly more of that traditional shoe look, but all the benefits of a barefoot shoe. So head over to barefoot.store, use code massonomics,
Starting point is 00:03:15 and you can save 10% on your next order. Barefoot.store, code massonomics will save you 10%. Thank you, barefoot shoes. Well, thanks, barefoot. And you know what that means. It's a calling episode. I was just waiting for it. Should we just try a call and we'll kind of mix in
Starting point is 00:03:36 some non-call stuff here? What do we need to sit around and wait for? Let's get right to it. Yeah, I gotta make sure this, I had to get a new one of these. Look, I came prepared with a new one of these look I came prepared with a new oh Yeah, you gotta have USB C. There you go. Yeah, I realized that the other day. I'm like wait a second I actually thought of that cuz I I wouldn't have thought of that until right now
Starting point is 00:03:55 I'm a big technology guy Tommy. I know you know that tech stuff You taught me about dongles a few years ago, so that is now in my repertoire. Okay, first one I think we are going to try, we're gonna give one of the big maths a call over in Niagara Falls area. I think we're gonna see if we can. Let's take it out east.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I hope he's not in the falls right now. It would make for some bad audio, but we'll give it a try right here Make sure our audios working this would be the first test How's that volume level good you could go a touch louder even touch louder Let's see Can you fellas hear me? Oh, yeah, Tommy. How's the. Can you fellas hear me? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Tommy, how's the volume on that? Do you think that's about right? It could be a touch louder still. Let me see, I've got it maxed out now. Touch louder. Okay, that's fine. It's maxed out on my board, so. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:04:57 All right. Big Matt, welcome to the Mastinomics Podcast. How's it going? It's going great. I'm glad I could finally get my voice aired on the podcast. It's been a little overdue, I think. Yeah. So you've never had your voice on the podcast before?
Starting point is 00:05:12 No, this is my first time calling in. I feel very honored. It's a long time coming. We've met you so many times and talked to you so many times in person. It just feels like we've talked to you on the podcast before, but I guess this is, uh, this is the first, uh, I know. And now I'm officially one away from my Hall of Fame Cup, which I hope to claim in person at the Arnold this year. Jess and I are already planning on being there.
Starting point is 00:05:36 So I'm really looking forward to that. Well, we'll bring a cup for you then. Um, so did you have a question for us tonight? Yes. I wanted to ask if you would ever consider getting the Texas bench bar from Masonomics Gym, the 55 pound variety, or if you have any thoughts on it. That's a good question. I love this question. This is a great start. Yeah, that's a good
Starting point is 00:06:02 question. And you know, we've been just the last couple weeks been talking about how many new bars I will or won't get in 2025 and I've never I have thought about this bar before I've certainly considered it before it kinda I Consider that for a number of reasons for one. It's a Texas Power Bar brand and I you know It's an obvious hole in the lineup right there. Yeah, it's one that we don't have of the Texas, in the Texas Powerball family. If you told me to guess, I kind of assumed we did though. Like I'm surprised you don't have one over there.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I've actually used one before in competition many years ago in like an APF powerlifting meet. They use the Texas bench bar. I know. Oh, it is a 30 millimeter. Okay. I feel like it would confuse more members than it would like get used of what it even is.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Right. It does look very similar to the Texas squat bar. I can see how they could easily be confused. You'd almost have to like label the collar with a marker or something. Yeah. Big Jess and I, we do have one in our home gym and along with the traditional Holy Trinity of Texas Power bars. And I have to say that that one probably is my favorite.
Starting point is 00:07:14 You know, every extra little millimeter matters, you know, and it does feel significantly better to bench with that. as an equipped lifter. And I think that that, I mean, that's who uses these generally is equipped. It wouldn't have to be like any, you know, if you like mentioned with you could certainly train with it for sure. Yeah. But I guess if here's the thing, if we all of a sudden, uh, you and Jess
Starting point is 00:07:56 and one of just, if you and Jess decided to up and move to Western Northeast South Dakota tomorrow, just I'm using you two as an example. If we had a couple of equipped lifters that all of a sudden started coming to the gym, I'd be like, okay, I now have a reason to buy this. And then I would probably buy it.
Starting point is 00:08:12 We just don't. You know what the probably the most underrated use for it is is when you bench with it, you just load your plates normally and then all your sets are just 10 pounds heavier. Yeah, it's just a bonus 10 pounds. There you go. You don't even think, it's just a bonus 10 pounds. You just get that extra weight. There you go. You don't even think about it.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Just plate, plate quarter, whatever, and you just get all that extra work in without even trying. Yeah, I guess it really has to be really similar to the squat bar if you think about it to weigh the same and you know. I'm looking at all the specs here. I haven't pulled up. So the main difference outside of the neural pattern is slightly different. You know, the squat bar is almost full neural across the whole thing
Starting point is 00:08:47 but the two main differences are the Texas bench bars 30 millimeter versus 31.75 for the squat bar and then the bench bar has a 19 and a quarter inch loadable sleeve or the squat bar has a 16 and 7 8 inch loadable sleeve still the same same overall length. The sleeves do look a little goofy. They are huge sleeves, but because it has the same width of the actual shaft as a regular power bar, it's not out quite as wide like a squat bar, it actually feels stiffer than how weight feels on a squat bar, if that makes sense,
Starting point is 00:09:22 because it's not out that extra little bit. So it really makes for a nice stiff bar to bench with. So that's why we're such huge fans of it. You know? Yeah, that's good insight. And Matt, you can't see it, but I'm actually holding up your Christmas card to the camera so everyone can get a, anyone watching along on YouTube can get a visual of who we're talking to right here. Yes. Merry Liftmas to everybody and a happy crew year to everybody.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Excellent. We appreciate the call and hopefully we see you in the bus in March. Yes, absolutely. We will be there as well as in Aberdeen for Lift Hardly ZZ3. Bring it back. Merry Christmas.
Starting point is 00:10:03 3P for the Cessnys. Absolutely. All right. See you guys. Thanks guys. See you. Good night guys. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Oh, Tanner. I just love that. The first question off the bat is talking you into buying another bar. That is just great. That's we gotta keep that quota up. It was, we were worried about what if I I Big Jake the snake and I in mass dynamics gym today There was like a debatable question about this like if I get another bar before the end of December
Starting point is 00:10:35 Does it count? I Mean we won't go into too much in the detail here but you had made the over under on me spending two grand in my home gym in the next year and put a pretty significant dent in that within a week of a week of that conversation so anything that happened post our discussion cow I think that's because we we have the conversation like mid-december you know so we can't have a week period of freedom here we're not now so yeah I know that's that's fair. That is the way that that probably should go. So I
Starting point is 00:11:08 Okay, that was a good first call to kick it off though It is I never actually really looked into the specs of the Texas benchmark I didn't know for sure what the difference was but I see it now. Yeah, I could see it. I I that's my honest take is if we got a Few people around that were really interested in we're gonna compete with that I would buy one then like that would be the thing to make me get it honestly I would say the one downside to it is Almost no one would know that that is the bench bar and that it is 10. No, I know
Starting point is 00:11:36 That's what I'd just be thrown off that would exactly that would okay. That's some people up. Should we try big Kurt? Yeah This is the big Kurt from crew falls. I believe for Nebia that would mess some people up. Should we try Big Curt? Yeah. This is the Big Curt from Crew Falls, I believe. Curt Nubia. Yep, let's give him a try here. Everyone gets one shot. Hello? Big Curt, is that you it's big Kurt Tommy I hear you too, buddy
Starting point is 00:12:20 Long time no see you old son of a gun. No, you guys man. You're really letting anybody on this They will let just about any our bouncers aren't doing a very good job anymore. We gotta get some of those bouncers from Lucky's Bar in Sioux Falls to run the- run the call-in shows. Certainly not the guys from Remedy because, man, they really do let anybody in there. They don't let anyone in that place. Big Curt was with us in Crew Falls. I think Big Curt recently got signed up for the Lift Hard Live Easy Classic here in 2025 too, huh? Yes, sir. Excellent. Looking forward to it.
Starting point is 00:12:53 It's going to be my first meet. We're excited for you to come and hang out again. Do you have a question for us, Big Curt, tonight? So it is related to that point. I am looking for ways to entice the wife to come with me out to lovely western northeast South Dakota and join me for this event. So I guess what I'm curious about is, you know, what are the points of interest and what are the things that we can explore out there in South Dakota, kind of around the meat.
Starting point is 00:13:25 I'll call me what do you got for a, hit us with a couple points of interest. All right, so just one clarification. Is it just you and your wife or are there kids coming? Just me and the wife. Okay, okay. So just you and the wife. All right, first thing you could do
Starting point is 00:13:38 is you could go on to the Masanomics YouTube and type in like Masanomics Aberdeen. We have two, two welcome to Aberdeen tour videos that kind of run you through some of the hot spots in town Otherwise, yes, absolutely show your wife those two videos. They're only both like a couple minutes long So she it doesn't take that much of her time and you see just see what she thinks after that That'd be great. Yes, that's a good place to start after that first of all that's a great place to start. That'd be great, yes that's a good place to start. Otherwise, if, so there's a couple different ways
Starting point is 00:14:07 you can do it, if you're just doing the Aberdeen thing, honestly, she's gonna be pretty busy the whole weekend just with you between, we have a pretty packed itinerary and you could probably have someone in the discord send you the itinerary from years past, but we basically have something for you to do every day. Now, if you're how busy your wife wants to be involved in those things, that's hard to say.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Some people's spouses love that stuff. Some I think probably have more fun doing their own thing. But it can be a very busy weekend on that alone. She is gonna get to take part in some nightlife. Every night there's lots of stuff going on between Tanner's Back backyard and the zoo and whatever other bar we go to, depending on what day you get to go to town.
Starting point is 00:14:51 And then the final bonus thing, because I'm assuming you haven't really been to that part of the country before? It's just for Crew Falls, that's it. Okay, yep. So because you guys haven't really been there, what a few people have done, and this is extending the trip a bit, but some people decide to make since they're out here, they either fly in a couple days early to the to the west side of the state to the Black Hills and get to see all the touristy things there.
Starting point is 00:15:16 And a few people do it the other way where they do the meet when that's all done. They drive out that way for a couple of days And you can really cross off some big time national treasures off your list if you do it that way too. So that's another way you could possibly take the weekend. That's what I'm hoping. I'm hoping that she can see the wisdom in making this just a whole vacation after the meet as well. Yeah, she's gonna love it.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Just tell her she's gonna love it. We're positive. Plus, you can just see the look of just awe and confusion on her face the entire weekend when all of these people sort of know who you are and know a story about you and she's like, what's going on here? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Tanner, did I miss anything? No, that's really good. Storybook land is best for kids But and you can go some people some people do walk through it and they go. I'm pretty impressed like that is always a thing. Yeah But yeah, otherwise you will find that as long as you're in the discord There is always something going on that week between Mastinomics gym various restaurants people just meeting up. I mean there's you don't be prepared for much relaxing the the the
Starting point is 00:16:27 the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:16:43 the the the Well, if nothing else, we'll see you this summer. Sounds good, I appreciate it, buddy, thank you. Thanks a lot, Kurt. All right, see ya. Take. Cut him off. That was a good one. That was big Kurt. Maybe we should, should we take a can, Brad?
Starting point is 00:16:54 I was just gonna say, are you getting thirsty like I am over here? I am so thirsty right now. I could just drink a horse, is that the saying? I believe, I'm so thirsty I could ride a horse with two asses. So these are from Big Lauren. And I come as a certified training facility is it wild iron? I believe so. Down in Texas, San Antonio area wild iron. And that's a gym jet like that's open to public gym
Starting point is 00:17:25 So if you're ever into the area check out wild iron, he actually just bought a whole bunch of arsenal Equipment oh really? Yeah, he's took he sent me his list a whole bunch like how many we talking here like 10 pieces Oh, wow. Okay. That is a lot. Yeah, so He sent us these Ramblers and here's the grapefruit flavor. And we got an old friend from, uh, the Ohio part of the country. He goes, uh, he's runs a few pizza joints, a big Nick at live large. And he always tells us.
Starting point is 00:17:58 If you're going to try someone's pizza to tell if it's good, you got to try their pepperoni or their cheese. And when you're going to try someone's sparkling water itself, it's good. you gotta try their pepperoni or their cheese. And when you're gonna try someone's sparkling water to tell if it's good, you gotta try their grapefruit. I say grapefruit or lime. Am I right? You're right, you can dress up the other ones and confuse the taste buds, but the measuring stick is grapefruit or lime to me.
Starting point is 00:18:19 So let's try the grapefruit rambler. It's good, it's good. I already forgot, what did we have the last time? Was it some type of orange or tangerine flavor? Tangerine I think is what it was, yeah. These are good though. This is great. This is a 4.0.
Starting point is 00:18:32 This is almost like a 4.5. This is delicious. Delicious. Yeah, it's really good. These are good. Oh, that's real good. That's real tasty. What do you give it?
Starting point is 00:18:48 You got a rating for that one? It's a four for sure. Strong four. Easily a four? Easy four, easy, strong four. Okay, how about we try another call here? Let's get Big Brehme on the horn if you're all right with that. Yes. All right. Should be connecting any second here. Hello. Big Brehme, is that you?
Starting point is 00:19:18 I'll let anybody in here I guess. They will let any old sorry son of a gun in here these days it sounds like. How's it going? Good boys, how we doing? Very good. We're good. Big Brehme, did you have a question for us tonight? Yeah, I'm just curious if you guys are ever going to make another East Coast tour and do some gym pop ins around here.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Yeah, it's absolutely we are. We we have a few a few East Coast locations on a radar. You know, we've circled some. You could say we made a map that has some locations detailed on it. Yeah. Well, now that we got the certified training facility, it's just making that even easier. But yeah, there's no doubt about it. The East Coast, that whole East region is a hotbed for sure. Yeah. So yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:20:10 We will be at some point. Remind me again, what, where you're at. I'm in Chesapeake. I'm near Virginia Beach. Okay. Kinda so I'm like near the ocean front, but I'm not a certified training facility yet. So y'all gotta wait a little bit to restock.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Very exclusive club right now. There's the there's always the next go around you and several others are waiting on it. So I was just playing noon ball, dude. That's right. That is a that is a very fair excuse. Just warm up the knees before you get too serious. Just warm up the knees before you get too serious. I'm trying. That's a good question, but yes, we absolutely will be taking some, we've got a few of interests there. So it's really not a matter of when we get to crew members
Starting point is 00:20:54 gym, or it's not a matter of if we get to crew members gyms, it's a matter of when. It's just ultimately takes time. All right. Awesome. Well, good question. And now you officially for sure have had your voice on the podcast. Nice. Check it off. All right. Awesome. Well, good question. And now you officially for sure have your have had your voice on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Nice. Check it off. All right. Thanks, man. Hey, bremmie. Thanks, y'all. Good stuff. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Should we get another caller going? We're going to just rapid fire all these colors. What do you think about trying someone that I like to call a stapler? I thought you'd never ask. RPE stapled. Hello? Tommy Schneider is a stapler. Tommy Schneider is on the Mass Inamics padcast. How's it going guys? Oh, not much. The winner of the strongest lift from crew falls, not too many weeks ago. Yeah, that was a fun time.
Starting point is 00:22:09 I'm already missing out on it. You're missing it. Did the bottle of barbecue sauce, are you using it? Or is it a collector's piece now? Trophies. Yeah. It's still in my gym bag. I keep forgetting to take it out.
Starting point is 00:22:24 That's a good spot for it. Yeah, someday it's still in my gym bag. I keep forgetting. It's something that's going to break. Oh God. Yeah. I need to get it out of there. I don't know how I keep forgetting, but yeah, I went to, I was, um, I was training the other day and I asked my buddy to get, uh, to get one of my clamps out of my bag and he goes why do you have a bottle of wing sauce? How many ticks does this make for you on your Hall of Fame card I Think this is my 13th. So With the way things are going. I should have a jacket by Lift Hard Live Easy.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Yeah, because if you're competing there, you'll check that one off. You've probably checked all the other. So what's your 15th then? Will it be an anniversary that you'll get there? No, the 15th should be, will be getting on unpaid underrated oh yeah Keith and Joey yeah which I think I'm doing at the end of the January I have to double check I can't remember you've got too many podcasts you're coming on schedule I'm a very popular stapler apparently yes so did you have a
Starting point is 00:23:39 question for us tonight I did so with the fact that apparel is very much, you know, trend based, what's a trend you guys both love and hate, and one that you're looking forward to doing with the apparel. So I think the easy answer to that one, I think Tanner would maybe say the same thing is right now, you could say more the trend is the boxier fit. And that has been pretty good for us because we'd like the boxier tee,
Starting point is 00:24:09 the blank we found for that. It seems to also go over really well with everyone else that's buying it. So that's what I'd say for a trend I love. Tanner, what do you think on that? No, that's the first one that would come to my mind on that too. Trend I hate. That gets a little trickier because
Starting point is 00:24:30 there's a trend that we hate we're just not going to do it. Like if I'm thinking outside that's not even relevant to massonomics merchandise the trends that I never like are what changes with socks and I know I've talked about before I feel like it's always like I'm like no I'm not participating. And I know I've talked about it before. I feel like it's always like, I'm like, no, I'm not participating in those trends anymore. I'm pretty set on what I like and don't like there. So there's no, I'm not going to be swayed by any trends on what people wear of socks anymore.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Yeah, when I think of trends too, for the guy or for gym apparel, I think of women's apparel way more. Like there's way more trends in, I feel like the fit of how things are and your pump covers and all that. And we don't really make women's stuff. So we kind of just, you know, we just put our thing out there and let people deal with it. So I, I don't know, I don't know if I have like a big trend that I'm against at the moment.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Yeah. What about you, Tommy? Did you have anything in your mind? Schneider? Oh, like for me, like I,, I hate excessively baggy clothing. I like when it could be a little loose or a little snug, but if it's one way or the other, I just absolutely despise it, just because either it's constrictive or you feel like you're drowning in your own clothing, and that's just not great, especially if you're lifting.
Starting point is 00:25:45 But, or another one that I hate, I hate like, except obnoxious, like designs on a shirt. I like when they're like more simple and you can just easily tell what it is without being just like, oh, that's really, really gaudy or really, really obnoxious. Yeah. Right. And that's actually, that actually hits on another point
Starting point is 00:26:06 we, Tanner and I, have talked about is five years ago, if we tried to sell shirts that just said Masanomics on it, and that was it. I mean, we would have sold like five of them, because not that many people cared. We've been, because the brand is a little bigger in the last year or so, been able to sell more shirts that kind of just say Masanomics, and they
Starting point is 00:26:24 seem to sell pretty well. So I guess that's, I don't know if you say that's a year or so, been able to sell more shirts that kind of just say Masanomics and they seem to sell pretty well. So I guess that's, I don't know if you say that's a trend or not, but that's maybe more of a trend for us that we've been able to do more of. And I do like that we can sell some simpler items. Yeah, yeah, just cause like, you know, it's nice to be able to wear a shirt, like for the brand and represent, you know, Masanomics
Starting point is 00:26:44 without like just going out and doing something where it doesn't seem like it's just like, like you're raging down the turn, I guess. All the time. Like the amount of double takes you get at the gym wearing, you know, the beer parodies. It's like, oh, oh, it's not, he's not, is he an alcoholic? Is he just like, does he have a sense of humor? What's going on here?
Starting point is 00:27:07 But yes. Awesome. Well, that's a good question. We appreciate it. Big timey Schneider Stapler. And you'll be competing at the lift hard, live easy classic this year. So we see then what we see in Columbus in March to them or possibly possible. I'm 5050 on a big Schw, big Nas is trying to get me to go out. Yup.
Starting point is 00:27:30 But it's kind of like, that's a long drive to spot and load and then turn around like two and a half, like two and a half days later and just like sit in a car again. Yeah, true. So it's like, ah, but I'm 50 50 on her right now. All right. Well, we'll at least see you this summer 50 50 on her right now. All right, well, I'm will at least see you this summer then though that you will. All right. All right. We'll check you next time.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Go Timberwolves tall. They just blew it against the Hawks, man. Well, we got the Vikings this year, though, right? Yeah. And the wild are doing pretty good, too, if you're into hockey. So big Minnesota team guys over here. So, all right. See big Minnesota team guys over here. So see you later. See you guys have a good night. It was really funny. Actually, I talked to Tommy quite a bit about Minnesota sports earlier there. I talked to him a lot about the Timberwolves.
Starting point is 00:28:17 We talked about the Vikings quite a bit and I'm not going to say I'm like some die. I'm not some diehard Vikings fan or anything. I've lived with people that aren't very much die-hard Vikings fans and have acquaintances that are die-hard Minnesota sports fans of any kind. And the one thing that was so funny, because I could relate to this too, was the Minnesota playoff game, football playoff game against the Seahawks in, god, I don't even know what year it was, it was like 2014 maybe,
Starting point is 00:28:41 when Blair Walsh missed the field goal. Kind of an infamous one one of the infamous ones. That actually just broke my dad as a fan. Like that was like after that he was done. Like it ruined him. And that was almost the same reaction my roommates at the time had. It was just the loudest screams.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Like the loudest screams I've ever heard them make. They closed the door, they slammed the door to their bedroom and I didn't see them until like the next weekend. And after that they're like, this was like the worst week of my life. They're like, it was just, it was just pain every single day. So I could kind of relate to it.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Life as a Minnesota sports fan. Dude, yep. How about Big Anthony? Let's give him a try. Yeah. the the the standard army began to use that you
Starting point is 00:29:36 yes it is our you guys are pretty good what's happening or not too much use my audio what what are you up to oh That's what I wondered if you were Yeah, yeah, I'm just about getting off of a 48-hour shift. I got till the morning so ah Nice 48-hour shift is all yeah Nice 48 hour shift is all. Yeah, it's not too bad, but no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Big Antony was with us in Crew Falls also. Oh, wait. You're not going to be back in Western Northeast South Dakota for Christmas, or are you coming back soon? Actually, I am. At 7 in the morning, I'm going to be packing my stuff and up there for the holidays. So looking forward to that.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Maybe we'll see you at the gym a little bit then. Yeah, I always try and get a Christmas lift in I've been doing that, you know, like the last six years however long I've been going to Mastinomics, but Kind of like a little tradition. I either try and get there like super early or you know Kind of like lunchtime around there. So that's mainly the main reason I'm going back to Christmas day is I was talking about with someone else at the gym today, it's always like an oddly busy day at Masanomics Gym. Yeah, yeah, it didn't used to be. I mean, but you know, over the years, you know, more people started coming and everything.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Yeah, words gotten out. Yeah, did you have, did you have a question for us tonight? Yeah, I did. I'm going to change it up from what I said on Instagram. With all this talk about bars and home gym stuff and everything I was wondering for you Tanner if you could choose five bars from Mastodomics to get rid of and never have again what would those be and for Tommy if you could get rid of like one piece of equipment from your gym never use it again what would that be? Those are good ones okay. Yeah I get rid of if I could just like should I tell me what do you think should I go just like really? Specifically like specifically this bar or like this type of bar
Starting point is 00:31:33 You can call it specific cuz I get rid of I'll get rid of just a regular old trap bar You know, we have like a regular old hex trap. Oh, yeah, like just your one you'd see. Yeah, I get rid of that. Honestly, I could get rid of the... Let's not go for those bars in the corner with the blue tape. That's what I... Yeah, I'm gonna not say... I mean, obviously I'd get rid of like our bent junky crappy bars, but like not that. I would get rid of probably like the football bar or the parallel bar press, you know? I would keep the Kabuki one because I liked the little bit of an arch.
Starting point is 00:32:13 It makes it so it's like not so much of a balancing act. Right. Because of the little bit of a camber. So those, I'd get rid of the regular hex bar that, football bar, if want to call it that Hmm I'd get rid of one of the One of the safety squat bars because we don't need I wouldn't have to have three different ones Transformer yoke bar and what's the other one and bars bars? Oh
Starting point is 00:32:44 see, I probably get rid of The transformer because it's kind of in between the other two for me a little bit So I would probably get rid of the transformer. That's three One delight here I'd get rid of those three. I'm just gonna pick three for now Tommy. What do you got? Yeah, I can't get rid of those three. I'm just gonna pick three for now Tommy. What do you got? Yeah? I can't get rid of more bars than that Yeah, so I don't have a ton of equipment to get rid of but what I would get rid of is I Have the loadable
Starting point is 00:33:14 Olympic dumbbell I get rid of that just cuz it's really nice I just they're a pain in the ass to use I just don't like loadable Olympic dumbbells and along the same lines, I'll I would also get rid of my gung-near one inch dumbbell handles because one inch Dumbbell handles are also just anything loadable dumbbells really annoying to work with so those would be
Starting point is 00:33:39 Two things that I actually probably will be getting rid of probably soon here that I actually probably will be getting rid of probably soon here. Yeah, sounds like good choices. Good choices. Excellent. Well, Big Antony, thanks for the call. And we'll probably see you at the gym here one of these days. Yep. See you at the gym. Hey, how many check marks was this for you? I'm actually really low, but I'm playing my cards right. Hopefully by the summer, I can cross off like seven at a time. I've got this whole thing planned out.
Starting point is 00:34:09 In my discord membership is kind of lacking. And so that's, that's what's going to stop me from hitting 15. Unfortunately, I won't even be at two years, but, but yeah. So hopefully in the future, but the, the call in is definitely helping that. So excellent. All right. Have a good night, guys. See you later. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:30 A little lot of good bar talk already, huh? Is. You can really never have enough too much good bar talk, can you? Never. Now, that's what I call Saturday night at the bar. Oh, yeah. Should we give Big Hogan a try here? Oh, absolutely. We're just ripping him through the list, aren't we? The crew falls veteran himself.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Yeah. Got a lot of crew falls veterans on this list. Yeah, there has been. Hello. Oh, Big Hogan, you old son of a gun, is that you? This is me right here. Dr. Hogan. How's it going?
Starting point is 00:35:08 It's going well. We got Big Nicole over here too. Oh, two crew members together, both slipping their voice on the podcast, weren't they? Weren't you? Yeah, look at y'all bringing people together. Yes, yes. You two married because of you met
Starting point is 00:35:26 through the Mastinomics Discord, right? That's what we say, right? Yes. It's a matchmaking Discord. Big Hogan was also in Crew Falls this summer. We've seen you at the Arnold before. Did you have a question for us tonight? Yes, I did.
Starting point is 00:35:44 So with all the Mastonomics really getting on YouTube for 2025, are there any new trends or types like the gym tours have been a big piece, any trends you all thinking of following or I mean one specifically any food challenges? I'm sure we'd like to see Tanner and Tommy tackle a 10,000 calorie challenge. So it's actually not a bad idea.
Starting point is 00:36:09 I can tell you for sure. The trend we are going after this year is gym tours. There is a Tanner and I were just marking out content for the year. And it's like, Whoa, that could be a lot of gym tours by the time 2025 is done. So that is priority number one for the year. Um, other trends, equipment. Yeah. Like leaning into the equipment thing a little more. Yeah. We started doing, you know, some of that last year and we're not,
Starting point is 00:36:32 we're not going to be like doing full in-depth reviews like you would see from like Gluck or, or Coop or someone. No, ours is more equipment show and tell. So we'll, and we'll do some more of that too. Um, otherwise, Otherwise, honestly if you were to say trend I would maybe actually say just general direction We're just putting way more effort into things that we know YouTube rewards more because like in the past we had made some videos that we thought were fun and everything But it sucks when you put a lot of time and effort into a video and it YouTube shows it to like 400 people or 500 people so we're just It sucks when you put a lot of time and effort into a video and YouTube shows it to like 400 people or 500 people.
Starting point is 00:37:05 So we're just, not that we're totally chasing the algorithm, but we're doing things that we think YouTube wants to see and then also that we want to do at the same time. So that's kind of our general direction for 2025. Awesome, awesome. Get those big red arrows on the thumbnails. Yeah, point out some
Starting point is 00:37:26 Arrows yeah all their call-out. I would say if anyone wants a massonomics eating food challenge You can go back into the back back catalog. There is some Qdoba burrito eating challenges in the first mass actually there there is a there was The plan was there was gonna be like a theme of mass versus food. It just never really made it past one or two episodes. So there is a whole thing of mass versus food. It just never really materialized.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Get to see Tanner consume like three Kudo-o-burritos. Maybe, I think that's the first episode, isn't it? How much can you eat at Cortillo's? Well, this is very Western. Yeah, this was very Western, Northeast South Dakota theme. So it's also very limited of our options. Yeah, so no, that's good. We appreciate the call. And how many does this make for you on your Hall of Fame checklist? I was able to sneak my voice on at home gym
Starting point is 00:38:23 con. Oh, that's right. Yeah, I was able to Yeah my voice on at Home Gym Con. Oh, that's right. Yeah. I had to listen real close because I wasn't on mic, but I got on there. But I think around because we're going to Lift Hard, Live Easy. I should be sitting at 13 by the end of that trip. Excellent. So you'll be cup time. end of that trip. Excellent.
Starting point is 00:38:45 So you'll be cup time. Be getting that cup. And then it'll be mostly time and challenge. So. Yeah. Okay. Well, we appreciate the call and we'll be seeing you this, well, we'll see you in the bus. This year, I'm calling it the bus.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, it's 10 minutes from our house. I think we can make the effort to get there. Yeah, I see you're arranging a crew sleepover at your house. Oh my gosh, yeah. That's going to be a busy bathroom. There's still time to change your mind. Get the extra strength plunger before the weekend.
Starting point is 00:39:27 That'll be the feed. You gotta bring on plungers. Awesome, awesome. Well, we appreciate the call. Thank you so much. All right, see you later. Good stuff. Big Hogan.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Let's do it. Should we do another call and then maybe take a little run down a couple of other things quick? I am on board with that plan. Let's do it. Let's do it here. Let's go this way. Just going. I'm just going down the list.
Starting point is 00:40:03 No favoritism here. It's just straight, has any, there hasn't been a single person that's not answered. Has there been? People are on it tonight. People are really on it for sure. What's with that? Usually I remember a lot more missed connections.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Oh, usually there's a lot of them. Then the call back while we're talking to someone else. Yeah. Oh I jinxed it didn't I? Yep. Here it is. The announcer's curse. What is up guys? Oh, is that big Nas? Oh, yes, sir. It is you caught me in the middle of the second Harry Potter movie. Oh I've been going through the Harry Potter movies with my kids, too. Oh, let's go. Let's go. Yeah. Are you, are you watching all, all of them? Like, are you just coincidentally watching the second one? Yeah. Yup. Yeah. We watched the first one a few days ago. So getting the second one now, we were hoping to get, you know, maybe five or six by Christmas time.
Starting point is 00:40:59 So we really got to lock in tomorrow. Yeah. Harry Potter is kind of Christmas movies for some reason. I, yeah, I don't really understand why, but you know, they get, they get the winter vibes in tomorrow. Yeah, Harry Potter is kind of Christmas movies for some reason. Yeah, I don't really understand why, but they get the winter vibes in there. Yeah. Are you recovered from Crew Falls weekend? Yeah, yeah. It was another kind of a bender of a weekend here this weekend, so now I wouldn't say I'm recovered anymore, but I was for a few days there.
Starting point is 00:41:23 I forgot to tell, Big Tommy Schneider was already on but stay tuned this week the Minnesota Department of Lifter safety YouTube video should be coming out in a few Days, so oh, yeah, I've been pumped up to see the YouTube video I think that that should hit like third this Thursday, right? I believe yes, I believe it will have Thursday so you will be on YouTube Massimilmx YouTube this Thursday, but a Christmas present. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Did you have a question for us tonight? Yeah, just kind of a brand related question here. I know you get a lot of those,
Starting point is 00:41:52 but if you could kind of like merge or collaborate with any company at all, big company, whatever, which company would you pick and why? I've got an answer for myself personally. That's actually a really good question. I actually have not thought about that very much to be honest. Do you have anything that I just got to, I mean, I could say some, I could say just random companies, but I want to like think about this for a second because any company,
Starting point is 00:42:22 boy, I'm trying to think of people outside of our space. Right, right. What do you got, Big Nas? Did you have something there then? Well, I mean, the obvious one is Costco. I thought you guys maybe get that. Chicken bake. And then if something was like a protein heavy deal, like I just went Like, you know, I just got, went there today,
Starting point is 00:42:45 got the 91 nine or something like that ground beef, you know, it could be a massonomic protein special. You know, I see what you're saying. But, but, or like, or like, you know, a Nike type of thing. Now that they're coming out with the, the lifting equipment. I mean, that'd be pretty cool too, to, you know, get a Nike symbol on the drink spotter. I would lean towards, I would lean towards if we could do
Starting point is 00:43:04 something with a beer company. I think that would be really fun. Oh, there you go. That'd be yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're not too picky there. We take a lot of people, but that would be, that could just be a really funny collaboration.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I'm not even sure what that would be. That would be good. A liquid death as far as a company goes is really funny as with all their marketing and everything. Not that we need like a mass dynamics water that bad, but you could definitely be a part of some really funny marketing campaign because they're not afraid to throw money at that. Also, yeah, that's good. I'll say I would like a massonomic slim Jim.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yeah, that would be a massonomics branded slim Jim. That's what I'll go with. Yeah, that'd be fire. All right. Good stuff. Great. OK, thanks, guys. Yeah. How many are you out on your checklist? Do you have any idea? I need to run the total tally but this might get me this might get me a silly pine
Starting point is 00:43:53 Yeah, that's gonna say you got to be close. I think Yeah, this should have me as a silly pine We were actually we were talking because like I'm like under ownership of a drink spotter, but I haven't purchased one myself You know, we've got what does the card say? I garage gym on these. I always need to I always need to say what the card specifically say here. The card I guess I can't remember or does it say own? I think it says own a drink.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Own a drink spotter. So, yeah, technically, I don't think you had to have bought it. Yeah. Yeah. OK. So so, you know, big Jake, you know, we got a few in the garage. You can say this is the Na's strength spotter, theoretically. Yes. Okay, okay. As long as he was comfortable with you taking it with you
Starting point is 00:44:35 for the day or something. Yeah, you know, I think we could bring it to the Arnold. I'll see you guys there. I'm competing at the Arnold. I signed up for the Meat there. Yeah, all right, awesome. It should be very exciting. So Meat can't hold anything back now, can you? Oh no, oh no. Yeah, the hay's in the Arnold. I signed up for the meat there. It should be very exciting. So meat can't hold anything back now, can you?
Starting point is 00:44:46 Oh no. Oh no. Yeah, the hay's in the barn. Yeah, then that's really just a warm-up meat for you if you think about it too. Yep. Yeah, I got that one. And then I got another warm-up meat. USA Peel Nationals will be like June, whatever. Okay, so that's your second warm-up meat. Then I'll be primed and ready. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I got the third attempt at the meat, the one that really counts in July. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:45:07 All right, well we'll see you several times this year. Yeah, I'm fired up guys, I appreciate it. Good to keep checking off boxes here. All right, see you later. Good stuff. See ya. See ya. It is amazing how many people we've talked to
Starting point is 00:45:20 that have a lot of check marks on their card tonight. Yeah, no kidding. You love to see it.. You love to see it. You do love to see it. Supporting our supporting members is a relatively new segment to the massonomic podcast hasn't been around forever. So it is relatively new in the grand scheme of our also massonomics. Just in general is like 10 years old
Starting point is 00:45:43 right now. Actually, yeah, you are right. When you say that. Yeah, like just like should really do the math. Maybe this week. It's like like when do you think it's like 10 years old this week almost here? I want to see if well, the first YouTube video was published, I think, on December of 2014, the Everdeen Strength Training video.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Yeah. I just want to see if I don't know if it was before or after Christmas But it was right right Cuz I think the first mass anomics YouTube video came out on like January 2nd or something But obviously the name had to exist before Right the the video could come out. That's always the right the debate with us is Here everest the yes oldest. So all this date published was Of course, it's massonomics max effort squat day because why wouldn't it be? Yes, December 28th 2014 was the very first video That's in five days first video that has massonomics is born. Oh
Starting point is 00:46:42 Baby this thing January 1 1. So you must have been saving it for the new year. He wanted to shock the new year new me January 1 2015. Yes, we were all right at 10 years wild. Also, so that's why supporting supporting our members is relatively new. We have these supporting members if you're interested in finding more about it, you go to massomics.com slash join. That's where you get in and all this stuff that we do.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Like you get to be a part of the crew. You get in, in our discord community, you get early access to drops and I don't know so much stuff. It's hard to even really put into words what it's like to be a mass Islamic supporting member. You just have to do it and then you'll figure the rest out as you go. Uh, this week, want to shout out to big Matt. He completed his USPA coaching level one certification.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Nice. That is this week supporting our supporting members. Created this damn channel in discord and nobody, everyone puts stuff in there other than, uh, it just last week was so long that I know it is also like It's we're not very far in the week, but apparently everyone's competitions were last weekend and none of them are this weekend I suppose it's close enough to Christmas that yeah There's no there's no comps that were on the weekend before Christmas, so that would kind of make sense
Starting point is 00:48:02 I guess wouldn't it yeah had him the week prior You know the challenge mass versus food. I'm looking at the old YouTube right now Mass versus it is it is there for anyone interested in It's funny someone commented on It was this really old video from probably 2015 where it was like 225 bench rep challenge Yeah, I said that one commented on it this week and because they commented on it, it must've like someone in the crew did. Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 00:48:30 It must've put it in. Yeah. So cause so then someone else commented on it too. And like, that's funny that we got two comments in that video in one week. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Yeah. The algorithm wins again. Anthony says second. Oh yeah. Yes. that's funny This week's episode is also brought to you by build fast formula check them out at build fast formula comm There's the supplements we know we use we trust we trust them because we know them we know them So we trust them build fast formula comm I like the Veso blitz dude. I was Veso blitz in and Refold blitzed
Starting point is 00:49:10 Yeah, I mean it was like a you know, a homemade full blitz and I was doing today Yeah, and then did you? Wrap up any 20 I needed that I've not hit my 80 20 yet. I usually do that close to bedtime. But I was hitting that pre-workout hard today, baby. Had to do that just to get to my baseline. We'll have to talk about more of that
Starting point is 00:49:32 when we talk about Juggernaut AI and we get a little training update during our Juggernaut AI ad, then I think too. That's right. But first, for build fast formula, take it like Tommy D, get full blitzed before you work out. Use discount code massonomics save 10% support a good company build fast formula.com. Yeah. All right, what do we got now?
Starting point is 00:50:01 Let's see here. Should we do another call? Yeah, I guess they don't call it a call an episode for no reason, do they? Just I kind of forgot. I kind of forgot what we were doing. I just blacked out there. Forgot we were recording a podcast here. Let's call Big Mark. We'll try Big Mark. Need to get to some people that we don't feel like we've,
Starting point is 00:50:26 we know so well. Like I feel like everyone so far that we are, we just have done so many things with them before. There we go. Let's try Big Mark. Is this the Massonomics podcast? Big Mark, is that you, you old son of a gun? Sure is, how are you guys?
Starting point is 00:50:44 Good, you're on the Massonomics podcast live. Is this you guys good? You're on the mass? I'm X podcast live Is this your first time on the mass? I'm X podcast. It isn't my first time. Okay, big mark supporting member. Where are you calling from? near Fort Lauderdale, okay Excellent. Yeah, and do you have a certified training facility? I do I thought you had a certified training So yeah, I thought I spent quite a bit of time looking at that map. Tanner's committed it all to memory. Well, congrats on the certification, first of all. Did you have a question for us here tonight?
Starting point is 00:51:18 I do. What's the most embarrassing thing to happen while lifting to you guys? Most embarrassing thing while lifting. Classically? Embarrassing thing while lifting. Classically, I've pooped my pants. I don't even consider that embarrassing, though. That's such a honor. I've thrown up in the gym before while lifting that really,
Starting point is 00:51:39 honestly, it was a massomics gym, so I didn't feel that embarrassed of that either. Nothing in massomicsics Gym catches me. It's nothing can beat it. I don't know what I can do there. If something was embarrassing in Massonomics Gym, man, that would be on a level there because people are pretty good with the flow. So then you're kind of limited.
Starting point is 00:51:59 I think the most embarrassing thing that's probably ever happened to me is just missing a weight. You know, like bombing Maybe a bench like I know I've gotten pinned on a bench before it hasn't happened in many years But it's kind of an embarrassing feeling when you get trapped underneath the weight You know when you're like you think you got it So you don't get a spotter and then you go for like one more rep you get trapped That's that's maybe the most embarrassing thing. It's not really that embarrassing, but it feels like it at the time
Starting point is 00:52:28 because you think everyone's looking at you and judging you because of that. So that's what I'll go with. For me, it's kind of an indirect one, but I would say the second powerlifting meat we ever did when I got food poisoning the night before the meat and was laying in bed and had explosive vomiting, I mean violent vomiting and diarrhea the entire night.
Starting point is 00:52:50 And I woke up and I'm like, guys, it was me, Ryan and Tanner in a room together. I'm like, I can't do this. And then like, as I stood there, I'm like, God, or can I just take enough medicine that maybe I could do this? And I mean, I was sick the entire day, sick the actual entire day and I still did the meat. So I mean, like nothing bad happened to me on meat day or like while I was performing lifts, but I just sucked that every, I mean just every the entire day. It just it could like scarred me for life almost going into a meat like every every other time
Starting point is 00:53:22 before a massonomics event. It's, oh, am I gonna die from sickness again like I did this one time? So that's what I'd go with. Nice. Yeah, how about you? You got anything that sticks out to you? Yeah, I was doing cable rows at this gym that I used to go to
Starting point is 00:53:38 before I had the certified training facility. Right. And I'm fully locked out and the cable snaps. So I roll over, I kind of get stuck on my back like a turtle. And it seems like five minutes passed before I'm able to just roll over and get back up. Well, Jim comes and makes sure I'm okay. But it's probably mostly embarrassing. Yeah, yeah. And like that one, you know, when it's a machinery
Starting point is 00:54:04 failing, you can't really say it's your fault,. Yeah. And that one, when it's a machinery failing, you can't really say it's your fault. So I feel like there's, you don't got to be embarrassed about that one, man. Well, I was going to say, most of that stuff, like other people, nobody is judging you in a way that you should be embarrassed. But at the time, when it's you, it definitely feels embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:54:19 I get that totally. Yeah. All right, great question. Good call. We got you a check mark off the old list there and hope the training facilities going good now that certified. Thank you guys. I see. Yeah, Mark.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Here. Good call. Fresh, some fresh meat. I like hearing from all these certified training facilities. Yeah. We know they've been through whoever that we're some fresh meat. I like hearing from all these certified training facilities here. Yeah. We know they've been through, everyone that we're talking to has been through a very intense vetting process. What do you think, do you think has Big Mini
Starting point is 00:54:53 ever been on the podcast before? I'm not sure he has. Okay. Also for everything. Maybe we should clarify one thing because there might be some people listening that don't know. We're talking about the certified training facility.
Starting point is 00:55:07 If you'd like to become one, you go to massonomics.com slash certified, learn more about it. Right now, this very moment, you can't become one because the item is not in stock, but the official certified training banner will be back in stock in the next couple weeks here. I'm anticipating that those will go quite fast,
Starting point is 00:55:25 but once you buy that, you can get your name added to the certified training facility list. Your pin will be on the map. People can see about where your gym is located, and you can join the other 75ish people that are currently certified. That's right. And Big Mini, is that you? Well, hello there, gentlemen. Big Mini got to hear
Starting point is 00:55:49 your sales pitch. I didn't hear the full ring one single time. I did, I did. And trust me, I am jealous because I did not see it go up until about five minutes after the post that they were sold out. We do have a rush order on, so you can get in on the next one. I'll have to. Alright. Big Mini. Video wizard over here. Crushed it. For anyone that watched live at the Lift Hardly VZ Classic this year, year two, that's all thanks to Big Mini for running the show there. It kind of went, we talked about it at the time,
Starting point is 00:56:27 but just like completely, completely baffled us of how good his setup was and how good it turned out. So you're a true wizard. Oh, I do, I do what I can. Oh man, I gotta pack your order up. We better end this call quick so I can pack up your order from today too, Mini, now that I think about it. You know, I'll tell you what I had, um, in my cart
Starting point is 00:56:49 for about the last three weeks, I had everything in the cart and I went hit by today and the, uh, the new shorts were gone and I went, well, I guess I got to order the rest of everything. Yeah. You got, uh, one of the last big boy sweatshirts that was around too. So you capitalized on that. Yeah. Yeah. Big mini. Have you ever had your voice on the podcast before? I have not. This is actually, I think the last I need to get the first section done of the of the stamp card. Is this number 12 for you? Do you think I wonder? Yeah, I believe so we room shoot me a DM like
Starting point is 00:57:26 Some time anytime tonight or tomorrow or sometime this week and remind me of that so I make sure to get you down for that I'm gonna forget some of the some some people that make it here. So make sure to remind me Did you have a question for us tonight? I did I know with all of the many many things you guys made over the years Is there anything that stands out that is something that has been requested a lot? but either you Don't have any interest in making or you haven't figured out if there would be interest. I know there's gonna be a huge interest for You know massonomic speedos things like that but stuff stuff that's gonna be a little harder to make that maybe you're just like no I don't think we're gonna bother with that.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Okay so there are a few things um I don't really want to say too much because we we don't like giving away surprises that's always a big thing is we like to not really spill the beans on something until it actually is in existence. One of those things we've talked about a while could possibly be happening in the next few months here. Well, I will let you some for sure answer on one of the things. But that's actually, when we look at 2025,
Starting point is 00:58:39 there's several things that we've, outside of just merchandise that we're trying to come out with, and some of those are just finding the right vendor or the right partner to make those happen so it's not a very good answer but I just hate to ruin surprises so I don't know if I can say much more so some of the thing that doesn't interest me all that much sometimes is women's clothing we get occasional asked for but it's like no there's so much variety to that as well what people do like and don't like and our women make up such a smaller portion of
Starting point is 00:59:05 Our audience that I'm like it's hard enough to figure out what dudes want to buy like if we then we go down to 10% of our audience and like quadruple the options that They could want also that so the women's apparel thing I think is what's trickiest to me in my mind. I Know Rachel was just talking about today how she appreciates how your shirts fit her better than most of her shirts that she has from other places and other stuff she's had. Even then, if it's not women's fit, it still fits her pretty good.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Right, right. Okay, now that's good. That's a good question. Are we gonna see you in Ohio this year? I am hoping so. Barring anything crazy, we should be there. Uh, there may be, if I, if I do go to Ohio, I may not be there one day to go up to, um, the meet that Dave is hosting to stream that for them. Oh, are you going to do
Starting point is 01:00:00 that? Yeah. Yeah. If I'm going to, if I'm going to be out there, I'm going to do it. Okay. Yeah. If I'm going to, if I'm going to be out there, I'm going to do it. Okay. Yeah. It just depends on whether or not, you know, being a, being a teacher and all, I got to make sure I got a sub for that weekend or for that week. We've got, cause I leave early. Yeah. No, that's cool.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Well, hopefully we'll see you there. If not, uh, then hopefully we see you this summer. Yeah. I know for sure, since I'm pretty close, we're going to try to get to, I want to get to the Arnold, want to get to home gym con. And then we've already got hotel rooms booked for everything come out in July. Excellent. That's what we want to see you most in July.
Starting point is 01:00:34 So if we have to, if we don't get to see it, the other ones will just, we'll, we'll, we'll wait for you for the main event in July. That'll work. Hopefully we'll get all of it, But you know. Yeah. Awesome. All right. Well, thanks, Mini. I'm glad we got you on the podcast here finally too. Yeah. Thanks guys. All right. See you later.
Starting point is 01:00:55 They call him Mini because he's really, really big. I don't know if anybody. Cause he's the opposite of Mini. It's ironic. You want to give, should we give big Jim a call Yeah, some of these get some of these people in the East Coast I like to say some of these names and you don't really narrow it down a whole lot. So I'll just say yeah When you say East Coast, I know who you're talking about now. Who am I gonna say when you're like no do not give them
Starting point is 01:01:21 God him. Please. No, not him. Hello. Big Jim, is that you? Are you still awake over there? Yeah, I'm still awake. I'm not that old yet. I don't know. You East Coast people sometimes, you know, on a whole different it's like you're on a whole different time zone over there or something Basically, well, I'm on vacation
Starting point is 01:01:50 You're living easy it sounds like very yes Good Big Jim competed at the lift hard live easy this summer. Are you coming back for round two for you? Yes, I am around three year round, excellent. Yeah, I will be there. Good. Hotels booked, flights booked, everything's ready to go. Awesome, can't hold anything back now. Hayes gonna be in the barn soon.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Very soon. Big Jim, did you have a question at all for us tonight or anything? Yeah, sure. Besides an SSB, what would you consider the next best specialty bar to get for a home gym? Well, you obviously know our YouTube video that hit us with the next best because that is homework video. Yeah Next best specialty bar besides the SSB Tommy. Do you got a I would say two things there and it's kind of have the SSB
Starting point is 01:02:41 I do have the SSB. I think that's a great one to start with I Think we probably talk about this in the video I would still make the recommendation based off of are you working around any injuries or any certain weaknesses that you think you need to hit harder so that might lean you one way or another otherwise just general advice I think banbell bamboo bar earthquake bar is a fun cool one to get in for a specialty bar not that expensive not that expensive You know what? Do you consider a deadlift bar a specialty bar? That's always the debate of you know
Starting point is 01:03:11 That would be the my question if someone wants to consider a deadlift bar a specialty bar Then I would say yes That would be the one to get if you don't consider that then I would throw out Maybe an axle bar because they're also not that expensive and you can do some different You know, especially if you're interested in strong man, then yeah, that's like a no-brainer Otherwise other bars that would be high on the list, you know Depending if you have like shoulder issues or even if you want to work like a big range of motion You could look at some type of like Buffalo bar. Those are pretty popular, too
Starting point is 01:03:41 I know there's several guys at the gym that like to use those so Those are pretty popular too. I know there's several guys at the gym that like to use those. So those are just to me some of the more commonly used ones that I've seen people go with. Cool, well thank you. Do you have a, were you in the process of moving or what's your home gym status?
Starting point is 01:04:00 I remember hearing about it but I can't remember now. So I bought a house on election day and Trying to get some contractors in to do a little bit of renovations before I move it Oh, yeah, but I mean I have all the equipment. It's just sitting in my garage right now Okay, all right, so it's but it's like gonna be inside your house like in a room in the house or something, right? Yeah, it is. I heard I heard about this on unpaid and underrated You guys sneak peek there yeah absolutely. Awesome well good question Jim. How many is this Jim?
Starting point is 01:04:33 What's the Hall of Fame card? This is it. This is uh I'm in the Hall of Fame now. This is 12. Congrats. Welcome to the Hall of Fame big Jim. You and Mini both just uh got in right now I think. I told him I don't know if you heard it but make sure to shoot me a DM and remind me of that. Otherwise, I will certainly forget Will do. All right. See you later. Thanks. Jim. All right. Thanks. I have Merry Christmas. Yeah, you do Bye. Bye Big Jim Yeah, I think that was that Jim's first powerlifting meet when he came this summer and did think it was I Think so feels like it might have been
Starting point is 01:05:12 But then again, I don't know feels like the first time Feels like the very first time should we try Big Garrett? Yeah, let's do it. Is this Tiner and Tammy? Close enough. Big Garrett, how's it going? Oh, I can't complain. How are you two? Good.
Starting point is 01:05:43 How's the certified training facility down there? Oh, it's't complain. How are you two? Good. Uh, how's the certified training facility down there? Oh, it's good. Just getting started. I'm still uh, I just got two darko hooks today I just put enough and those are pretty darn nice. Yeah. Yeah. Shout out supporting member Darko Yeah So did you get him put up on your rack? Yep, I got him hooked up and my brother's down there lifting right now. What are you gonna hang from the hooks? I got my Bells of steel SS for on there and I got a meter bar my future father-in-law gave me
Starting point is 01:06:17 excellent excellent What what are you getting at on the Hall of Fame card checklist? What's this bringing you up to? So this will be nine. I'll be at 10 in a couple weeks because I'll be unpaid, underrated. I'll be at 11 at the end of February with a one-year membership. And then I wish I could go with the Arnold because that would be 12 I'm gonna help out Jake the snake with his power lifting me. Yep
Starting point is 01:06:51 Otherwise, I'd have to win contest prize Or I'd have to listen to another 300 episodes in about two months. You're uh You're coming really close to 12 in a year though. That's pretty impressive. That's progress. I know. I really want to go to the Arnold and try to be the fastest Hall of Fame achiever. Right, right. We need to keep a stat on that. We'll see. This is a call out to see if anyone else tell us how fast you did it. how fast they got it and did you big Gary did you have a question for us tonight I sure did um so when is mass nominus from gym finally gonna get a model left to me equipped lifter friendly yeah you guys keep saying
Starting point is 01:07:36 you have all this room in there now that you got the Smith I don't think we have that much room makes room in the gym yeah yeah yeah I just don't think we have that much room. That's the amazing thing about the Smith machine is it makes room in the gym. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I just don't see the monolift there. Again, it's actually goes, it's like Matt's question from earlier, only more extreme. If we all of a sudden got a whole bunch of people that were really into equipped lifting,
Starting point is 01:07:57 I would be inclined to, I'd be like, no, we'll make this work. If we have a group of five people that are really super into equipped lifting all the sudden I bet now we'll get you a monolith like that. You know, I would yell for it I'm I don't I don't have to be the primary user of something to see the need to get it But the thing is right now we just don't have like a single equipped lifter. So I don't know it just I Would never say never
Starting point is 01:08:28 I don't know. I would never say never because you never know when the right thing pops up. You never know when five more bars become available. Right. You never know what happens. But that is not on the short-term horizon, that's for sure. All right. Tommy, are you getting one for the garage? And I can assure you that that is on no horizon for my garage. Yeah. Now that's a no horizon for my garage. Yeah Now that's a good question though Garrett excellent question Yeah, all right. Thanks here at you get get those check marks on the Hall of Fame card. I'm working on it. Thank you All right. See you later. Yeah, have a good night Yeah, no monolith I don't think
Starting point is 01:09:03 Yeah, that's a tough sell when you don't got the don't cut the equipped lifters. No, that's right Let's try spicy pizza. All right Neighbor to the north can't say that too often on this show. Can we please not on a hard shift right now? Hopefully he's not on a Menard shift right now Ingo Charlie hotline, this is Daniel. Yes. We were wondering if you could sell us some more of that knockoff Mastinomics apparel Um, actually I just kind of see some desist leather from you guys. I don't know if I can do that anymore Big Daniel big spicy pizza. Welcome to the Mastodonics podcast. Oh boy, this is a dream come true. I didn't have this one on my bingo card for the year. I did not have being on the Mastodonics podcast on my bingo
Starting point is 01:09:56 card this year. Daniel did a thing. Oh boy. Have you had, have you been on the, have you called in before? No, I have not. So this is actually number 11. So yeah, January 31st I'll be at 12. I'll be drinking on my silly pint. I mean we might need to have to get more cups. Everyone we call is like there on the way there. We had a lifetime supply of those. And we gotta be a trend center, I guess. Yeah. Wow. Okay. Did you have a call for us tonight?
Starting point is 01:10:25 Or you had a call, a question? I guess I've been showing off my muscles at the gym. I was just wondering how I can get women to look at them rather than other men. That's a great question. Oh, boy. A great question. We do not have answers.
Starting point is 01:10:42 Yeah, I'd probably say your first your best. I This is very general advice, but your best bet is probably not trying to get women at the gym. That's right That's what I'm just wearing the tightest shorts. I can't show off the Incredible. I well you might be out of something there though. You might that might be working in your favor I think they like reverse psychology Yeah, so you do a lot of reverse psychology stuff on them. So baggy sweatpants Yeah, just like you'd be like you don't want to go out on a date with me and they're like well, maybe now I do That sort of thing you always want what you can't have
Starting point is 01:11:23 That's right. So make him earn it. Make him really need it. Got to play hard to get. Yeah. I think that's all really sage advice, don't you think, Tommy? Yeah, definitely. You got the, has your certified training facility
Starting point is 01:11:42 flag showed up yet? Sure did. I opened it just before I went out to eat today. How did the certificate come once you took that out of the tube and did it unroll or is it staying curled up? It's still a little, it looks like a U or a skate ramp right now. I figured they'd smooth out or people put them in a frame
Starting point is 01:12:01 or something. Yeah, that'll smash right down. Yep, I got it in my special Maxonomics box underneath my bed. I'm going to say I wanted to write Spicy Pizza on yours, but you did not request Spicey Pizza, so I couldn't do it. So I didn't do it. I guess I technically got it for Edgar's, so. Right, right. So they are sort of-
Starting point is 01:12:19 Probably the best to put my name. Yeah, the Edgar's House of Pain is now a certified training facility. I am sure they are going to be so excited when I finally show up to the gym. Yes, they. This is the thing that's gonna set us out in the set us apart in the Fargo Moorhead area. Gonna start having new members
Starting point is 01:12:37 finally get strong. Yeah. All right. Well, thanks for thanks for the question. Excellent question. I wish we could help more, but you now know everything we know. Okay, well, thank you so much. All right, we'll see you, man. Thanks, Big Daniel.
Starting point is 01:12:52 Yep, have a good one. Old spicy pizza. One of the spicier pizzas you ever see around. That's a spicy pizza. Mama mia, that's a spicy pizza. Mama Mia, that's a spicy pizza. Do you think Jeff's still awake over there in Florida? I bet he's just up crunching numbers working on spreadsheets. We're gonna find out. We're going to put it to the test.
Starting point is 01:13:24 Hello, Big Jeff, we didn't catch you cramming for your Series 63 certification, did we? Oh, gosh, that was the worst. No, you did not. You know, me having no clue what you guys are talking about, I'm reading that and I'm like, hmm, I can't really tell if this is real or not. But they seem to think it's- Yeah, that's the worst out of all of them. And then all of a sudden you go, at one point I had my series seven, five, and they're like you're naming off all these things.
Starting point is 01:13:49 Am I, okay, this must be a real thing then. Yeah. Yeah. And you also recently have, you now are a proud owner of a certified training facility. I am. Yeah. I'm still trying to get the rest of the family to understand what that means. I really enjoyed your comment
Starting point is 01:14:05 of how they just don't get it. Yeah. How do they feel about it? Did you show them the certificate? I did, and they saw that and they appreciated that. And then my youngest daughter said, so people can just come train here, what's mom gonna think about that?
Starting point is 01:14:18 Yeah. Shh. Some things are bigger than me. Yes, yes. You're like, it doesn't really matter what she thinks. We're a certified training facility now. Some things are bigger than me. You're like, it doesn't really matter what she thinks. We're a certified training facility now. That's just what happens. It's, it's out of the, yeah. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Good stuff. Did you have a, uh, did you have a question for us, Jeff? I had three possible ones. I sent you two and then I had a wild card. I don't know if you'd rather just fire off rather answer or if I should just fire them off? You pick whatever you think. Okay, all right. So does the Mastinomics Gym have any
Starting point is 01:14:51 unique holiday traditions? Or if it doesn't and you just wanna share some of your own holiday traditions, we would love to hear that too. I always think like a Mastinomics Gym holiday tradition would be fun. And then like if I put up a tree in there or something like that
Starting point is 01:15:05 like but then I'm like no I just barely have I just barely like make sure the trash is put out some people like why the hell is this tree in the way like yeah just attacking like cats probably the closest thing to holiday traditions like you were saying earlier when Anthony was on is that Christmas is a surprisingly busy day at the gym actually Yeah, Christmas evening Christmas are big lifting days So that just like coming to hang out and chit chat while and usually do see a lot of people you haven't seen in a while, right Like big Grayson was back is but and Hannah were back and you know Jake was there to you know
Starting point is 01:15:40 So Anthony coming back so there's a lot of people back. That's kind of the only gym tradition What about at home? Tommy, do you have any big holiday traditions? Well, you know, we're at the point where we have young kids. I feel like we're trying to start some traditions here with them. I don't know, as far as the rest of it goes, if I think of like my childhood and growing up and all that, I just want to say it was pretty generic Christmas stuff like, you know, you'd open presents,
Starting point is 01:16:06 you'd usually get together with some family, hang out with your cousins, all that stuff. But nothing, I wouldn't say like anything unusual or out of the ordinary as far as that goes. We listen to a ton of Christmas music in our house. Like for weeks, it's just, we're just, everyone's picking their favorite Christmas music and we're just, and like in the car, we never get in the car and it's everyone's picking their favorite Christmas music and we're just and like in the car
Starting point is 01:16:25 we never get in the car and it's not without being Christmas music and Bing Crosby, you know the class Jeff. Were you the ones that were you the one that asked the Mount Rushmore of holiday Yes, yes. Yeah That's an interesting question in itself. But yeah, I think the music thing is probably the biggest Tradition that I can think of around here How about you do you have anything? Your your traditional allowed not Florida to not allowing Christmas holiday even
Starting point is 01:16:57 What's that our Florida people you know you don't have the the cold winter weather is it do you know fully embrace? Yes, the Christmas lifestyle? We do, we do. And it gets cool. It was like a chilly 50 degrees here today. So we all bundled up for that. I mean, it was really, really feeling it. We have a palm tree with lights on it on our patio now.
Starting point is 01:17:17 So it's not what we do. But yeah, we do. My wife's family is Hispanic, so they do like a noche blena, it was a new tradition of me when I Met her which is a Christmas Eve big dinner. They do which is which is pretty cool and lots of great great food don't Actually just heard big grant from the strength code talking about his wife is Big D and he was yes He was saying something like do you stay up till midnight or something on Christmas Eve is that part of it or maybe they do?
Starting point is 01:17:44 Yeah, yeah. Yeah, stay up late. Have usually a meal with like pork and plantains and rice and beans and stuff like that. And it's Yeah, it's a good time. That sounds all right. Rice and beans that day. That'd be Dave Ramsey approved to that's right. That's right. You can feed a lot of people with a little financial tip. what that would lead someone to financial piece just sounded extra room for presence and gym certification. Gym certification classic can't afford. I mean that really is a can't afford not to get in on that sort of thing. That's when you see you like no I can't afford not to be in on this one. Yeah I can't imagine missing out on that really of thing. That's one you see and you're like, no, I can't afford not to be in on this one. Yeah, I can't imagine missing out on that really.
Starting point is 01:18:28 I mean, it's, I can't, you can't even comprehend it. No. I think your family will come around on that as they get a little more familiar with it. I would just continue to keep showing them the map, but they'll eventually have to be as interested in the map. Eventually that certification will just start
Starting point is 01:18:42 paying dividends and they'll get it. Yeah. That's right, keep adding emo dividends and they'll get it. Yeah. That's right, keep adding emojis and just be like, oh look at that now, we got a new one. Awesome, good question, thanks for the call, Jeff. All right, thank you, talk to you guys later. See you later. That was a fun one.
Starting point is 01:19:00 Yeah. How about YouTube sensation Big Paul oh god the star of the Mastodon mix YouTube big Paul himself we'll see if he's still away from you he's probably in his shed gym right now probably just watching it on YouTube racking up the view count that's probably he just keeps playing it on YouTube, racking up the view count. That's probably why he just keeps playing it on his shim TV. I know it's one of those view bot farm things. Oh, it's going to be the first one. Is he going to break the streak?
Starting point is 01:19:35 Yeah, there still hasn't been anyone has there? I think he's going to be the first. Oh, I think you're right. Not looking too hot no I'm gonna snuck at reception. I'm calling shed. I'm calling it That was our first one though, huh? Our entire Alright Gary, we're coming for Gary big Gary
Starting point is 01:20:06 Words of Brad All right, Gary, we're coming for Gary. Big Gary. Where's the Brad? One of the two. Hehehehe. Gentlemen. Big Gary, how's it going? Well, it's going pretty good, how about you guys? We're doing good. You good?
Starting point is 01:20:22 Long time no see, huh? Yeah, I mean, what's it been? Uh, two weeks. It's been a while. Oh, missed opportunity there. Yeah. Thank you. Bare naked ladies for clarifying how long it's been since we've seen Brad, uh, uh, uh. Or should I say Gary? Gary. Perfectly.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Let's keep it under wraps. Big Gary, did you have a question for us tonight? Yeah, with all the hubble about the certified training facility, a few people have come and But how about the certified training facility? A few people have come and asked around this question, but with its demand and selling out so fast, have there been other products that you've introduced that sold out a lot more than you thought it would? The one that sticks out in my mind as being the first one
Starting point is 01:21:22 that really just went crazy in a way that we didn't expect or it was the first time we ever did a pair of blue limited edition lift shorts Tanner was I'm sorry my blue juice head We heard the first part of your question we just started answering so yeah, I guess yeah The first one that really ever surprised us was god This is probably what five years ago Tanner four years ago We did a run of limited edition blue lift shorts, and we thought I don't know Maybe if things go great in a week they would sell and I think was that same thing wasn't it like two hours Yeah, they were all gone. Yeah, and there were several people that were like mad about us remember
Starting point is 01:22:00 They were like you have 20,000 Instagram followers of course you're gonna sell a lot of them. It's like So that don't turn out like that yeah like Yeah, that would be a good example the kind of fit kind of fat tea Oh, yeah, that came out that really blew up for a while for yeah, that was Mean it was cool, but it just really blew up fast In that way and then we've had things on the flip side I don't know if that was also part of your question, but we've certainly come out with
Starting point is 01:22:27 things that were like, wow, didn't anticipate that being that much of a dud. Like I could have sworn that was funny. And then, but sometimes in your, in hindsight, it's like, no, now just one day later, like I up until this moment, I thought this was going to be such a good idea. And now just one day after releasing it, now I see why it wasn't good. Oh yeah. Like whatever think that's a good idea. Like, yeah, it's funny, but people don't want to wear that as a shirt.
Starting point is 01:22:53 Right, right. You have like this clear moment of clarity, not until like you get the proof of nobody buying it. And then you're like, well, yeah, it's so obvious now. Like now I just know why that why, why did we ever think that was a good idea? But after releasing, I don't know, a couple hundred pieces of merchandise, you know, you're bound to have some hits
Starting point is 01:23:12 and some failures along the way, so. Right, right. That's true. Oh, Big Gary, you still there? Yes, sir, yeah. Well, that's a good question. We appreciate it. And how is the certified training facility?
Starting point is 01:23:30 Does it feel any different? It's very different. I don't know. It coincided with the Jim McSpanthin, honestly. I don't know if you caught bits and pieces of that on the Instagram. But I switched over from a squat stand over to a half rack now. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:46 I got plate storage and a lot more, uh, lateral stability on the rack. I mean, it's good. You did that. I go barbell holders. Oh, you got the Darko anchors too. Everyone's getting the Darko anchors. Uh, no, it's good. You did that stuff.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Cause we were a little on the fence of certifying it, but once we saw the upgrades in place, we're like, okay, yeah, this is a certified training facility for sure. Yeah, I just couldn't afford not to do it. Once you guys announced that thing, I had to run up a huge bill on the credit cards to make it an actual certifiable facility. Yeah, you didn't want to leave you like a not,
Starting point is 01:24:20 on certif, like an unjustifiably certified, yeah, that makes sense actually. Um, yeah. Anything better than a hotel gym is what I was going for. Yeah. Success. Uh, uh, good call. Good question. Thanks, Gary. Thanks Gary. Take care guys. See you later. Oh, I do think Paul tried calling back. Do I give them one, one more shot? Maybe because he was the first one Okay. Yeah since he was the first
Starting point is 01:24:51 This is it though fall You're probably busy responding a fan mail from YouTube Tanner and I talked about it almost daily like, oh, that video just racked up another 1,500 views yesterday. What can I say? People love the shed. They certainly do. What do you, where, where, Paul's the winner of the golden PP challenge.
Starting point is 01:25:19 Where's the golden PP right now? Probably hanging in the shed, so nobody better come and take it. Yeah. Just hanging there from the, is it hooked up to one of your cable machines? It is. Excellent. The Golden PP, the proud owner. Big Paul, did you have a question for us tonight?
Starting point is 01:25:40 Sure. Kind of a question, but wondering if there's gonna be a vlog for the building up to the lift 3Z. The lift hard lift 3Z, yeah. So last year we did the, we actually did the meetup in Watertown. Yeah, we did the training day there. I think we need to, yeah, I think we need to try and do some type of, it'd be fun to
Starting point is 01:26:02 do once the date gets a little closer to do a big group training session again. Do that again. That was pretty fun. Yeah. I mean, we could always just go back to Tommy's garage and spray chalk all over the place. We could just be in the training.
Starting point is 01:26:15 Everybody has to bring eight blocks of chalk and just break them everywhere. Just stone cold Steve Austin with chalk everywhere. I see no problem There's no problem with that at all. No, not at all. I just I'm just the one cleaning it up. So yeah, it doesn't matter Yeah, I do think it'd be a good idea if we get another group group training session in probably was it last year Did we do it like may ish? I believe that sounds about right? Yeah, we might have to think about that Mark some pins on, luckily we got a certified
Starting point is 01:26:47 training facility map that helped us guide us to some locations, so. Absolutely, we could probably always talk to Big Bryce about it, if he keeps getting all these short ground heads, you might have to go and take the hander. I really wanna thank him though for holding those for me until the next time I'm able to get down to Crew Falls. I let him know that, that I really appreciate him hanging onto those for me until the next time I'm able to get down to crew falls. I let him know that that I was really appreciate him hanging on to
Starting point is 01:27:07 those for me until I can get down there. Catching them at such an affordable price for me. Yeah. I woke up at 4 45 in the morning to a series of snap videos from Bryce saying that he got out of bed because he was going to get the deal like the deal of the week. I was like, dude, I think you got the deal of the year. That was quite the deal. I, like the deal of the week. I was like, dude, I think you got the deal of the year. That was quite the deal. I'm a little jealous of that one. That was a, that was a real steal.
Starting point is 01:27:31 So his update that he had, uh, when you guys were at his gym, he had two dumbbell mountains. He had, he now had, he had now had four dumbbell mountains that he needed to get rid of. He didn't have a lot of spares of dumbbells. He had a lot of spare dumbbells before he got another set of dumbbells So yeah, now he's got a lot a lot of spares Yeah, that's funny Okay, good question big Paul. We appreciate it Always a pleasure boys. I'll see you later. Yeah
Starting point is 01:28:02 We're just banging out so many calls. I just. I know. Do you got an ad you could read? And then I'll get a next couple calls ready. Yeah, this episode is also brought to you by Texas Power Bars. Earlier on this episode, we had an organic plug for Texas Power Bars where Big Matt called
Starting point is 01:28:21 and he gave his high praise to the Texas Bench Bar which happens to be one of the only bars out Of Texas from Texas power bars that we do not have and we're talking we got Texas deadlift bars We got Texas original Texas to our Texas power bars. We got Texas squat bars. We got Texas cross bars We got 29 millimeter Texas power bars. We got just about all of them, except for the Texas Bench Bar. So if you'd like to add one of these great bars to your collection, head on over to texaspowerbars.com. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of them.
Starting point is 01:28:54 If we were to give you some of our recommendations, anytime you're going with a black zinc shaft and chrome sleeves, you're gonna have a classic piece on your hands right there. Also though, if you wanna go with Cerakote, not a bad option either. Bare steel, if you can handle that one, that's gonna be super, super aggressive knurling,
Starting point is 01:29:14 but just know what you're getting into with that. It takes a little bit of upkeep. So texaspowerbars.com, get yourself a bar. Thank you, Texas Power Bars. What do you think about taking this tour down to Arizona? Oh, let's do it. Let's get a little Southwestern in here. Yeah, too chilly up here.
Starting point is 01:29:36 Your call has been for. Oh. Wait, maybe not. Maybe you need to try it again. Maybe the lines got crossed. Yeah, it again. Maybe the lines got crossed. Yeah, maybe he retired for the evening. I did see him in the live chat earlier and I don't see him now, so. Okay. Should I try it one more time?
Starting point is 01:29:53 Maybe. Just this. Okay. There we go, try one more. If we break through. Oh, yeah. There's a ring. There's go. Try one more. If we break through. Oh, yeah. There's a ring. There's ringing. You see, I think the later we go, the higher likelihood we have of people not answering. We're going to start losing.
Starting point is 01:30:28 We'll just go until no one answers. We missed him. Missed connection. I don't know if we will actually get to everyone on the list or not But we're gonna keep we're gonna keep banging them out For now unless you unless Tommy says we got to stop I'm still good Let's go to DC area You're calling Your call.
Starting point is 01:31:09 Oh. All right. Dropping like flies. We'll try one more. We're going to try Big Emmet. Let's give Big Emmet a try. I think Big Emmet's been on before. Your call has been called. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Just like that. 10, 15 is everyone's bedtime. Everyone, we're gonna try another one. There's still several on the list. It just went from no one to just everyone. Yeah. All right, wrap it up, this is done. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:41 I'm gonna get like seven return calls now, all these people trying to call back. We're gonna try Big Joey Joey E. Oh Is Joey even on the podcast before I don't know Oh We're gonna have like ten minutes of hello, oh Joey you old dirty dog, how's it going? Good, how are you? Pretty good. We're getting worried. They're the last three people. We tried to call didn't answer so Joey to the rescue. Oh Happy to do it big Joe dot e dot
Starting point is 01:32:33 Joe e Last seen at home gym con. Yeah. Yep. That's right. How's it going? Very good. Very good. Excellent Can't remember. Do you have a certified training facility? I can't you might I do Have a certified training facility. Yes, has your package showed up? It showed up today. I haven't had a chance to install the flag yet, but it's here. How about this? Have you ever we couldn't remember? Have you had your voice on the Mastinomics podcast before? No, this is the first time for me. Okay. excellent. You got a mark on your Hall of Fame card then. Yep, yep, slowly but surely chipping away.
Starting point is 01:33:09 Love to hear it. Did you have a question for us tonight? I did. Now that you're world famous gym tour guides, what's the biggest surprise you've had on any of your gym tours? Oh, biggest surprise on a gym tour. Well, one of the big, well,
Starting point is 01:33:27 this is sort of a different answer to that. One of the biggest surprises was just how well Paul's video has gone over. You know, we thought that was a good video, but that video has done really well. It's like over 20,000 views today. That's in less than a month, which for a gym tour, Wow.
Starting point is 01:33:41 is quite good. Biggest surprise though, I'm trying to think of like, while we're filming or anything like that, if any major surprises. I mean, perfect little Swedish gym just is full of surprises. Yeah. It's full. Every corner's a surprise.
Starting point is 01:33:56 It is just full of surprises. That's a good way of putting it. Yeah. There's so much fun stuff in there to look at, you know, like you can't even soak that up in Through the gym tour video like you really have to see that in person to take it take in everything there Trying to yeah, yeah, not one even when we went like to the Carolinas there was just several surprises with some of the places like
Starting point is 01:34:20 Jen Thompson Like lives on this beautiful lake, and you know that's not directly at the gym but it was kind of like oh wow, this is an amazing location you're in here, that was cool. Yeah, yeah. I mean even like Donnie's whole facility, I just still couldn't quite wrap my head around
Starting point is 01:34:36 how that was going on there. So then to get and then go into his like hangout lounge was pretty cool too, that was quite the surprise. Oh and him showing us all of his like trophies from back and like none of that was on video But like all of his trophies and Donnie's like a collector of like memorabilia and stuff like that Yeah, for sure. He had a lot of really cool stuff that we didn't record but I guess those are two that stick out to me Yeah, we don't have a great like single one answer for that But I think there's some there's been some interesting stuff for sure.
Starting point is 01:35:05 I think our biggest surprise is ahead of us yet. That's what I like to think. Yes. Yeah. The biggest surprise is the gym we haven't toured yet. Yeah, so yeah, that's a good question though. We appreciate it. All right, thanks for the call.
Starting point is 01:35:22 All right, Joey, we'll see you when we see you. Yep. See you soon. Bye. See ya. We haven't been to Ohio for a little while on this journey. For at least an hour. Yeah, let's go back. What's Joey? He's Illinois or Indiana? I think he's Indiana. I'm actually looking at him on the map. He is like He's got to be
Starting point is 01:35:50 Always he's like on the very edge of Indiana. He's basically on the border of Indiana and Kentucky. Okay We'll try Big Nate see if he's still awake. Oh Technical guy. Yeah, he's technically a guy. Who'd have thought that would stick? Probably just up to his eyeballs and ethernet cables. Yeah. All right, we'll give him, give him a shot her not covered in dongles right now. He can't answer
Starting point is 01:36:29 He just got dongle after dongle Draped in dongles dongle for every situation Right, let's go to Rochester New York, but maybe not who you think in Rochester, New York. So let's try that. Your call has been forwarded. All right, I think this next one might be the last try. Yeah, that's a cool- And then we'll go down in a hurry, don't you?
Starting point is 01:37:01 Well, I'm gonna try one more just because I would like to end on a success a success. I know you can't quit on a Can't quit on nobody. No the sex ones big Lee will try this and then that'll probably wrap us up because it looks like We're kind of hit hit people's limit here Don't they know tomorrow's Christmas Eve you shouldn't sleep the night before right Santa's never gonna come if you're in bed before. Right. Santa's never going to come if you're in bed. Hello, Big Lee. Is that you? This is Big Lee. Where are you from?
Starting point is 01:37:36 I from Wisconsin, Wisconsin. All right. What part? South Central a little bit ways north of Madison. OK, so you're not too close to, uh, superior then. No, no, no. I've never, never seen where the Edmund Fitzgerald took off. You knew where I was headed already. One step ahead of you.
Starting point is 01:37:57 Yeah. You're like a carpenter that builds stairs. Always thinking one step ahead. So Wisconsin guy, okay. Oh yeah. All right, I like that. We can get down with the Wisconsin fellas. Did you have a question for us tonight? I did.
Starting point is 01:38:16 It's a fuck Mary kill and it's squat variations. Oh. Okay. Front squats, zircher squats and Bulgarian split squats Okay Zurcher front and Bulgarian You know, I'm I was never much of a Zurcher fan to the point where I've probably even only attempted it One or two times in my entire life I just didn't like the movement a whole lot. So I'd probably kill zirch or squats. Oh
Starting point is 01:38:52 Actually a big fan of the other two either They're all terrible in their own way Setting myself up really well here I'm not setting myself up really well here Maybe I actually I probably I probably the variation I do the most is both is split squats So I would marry Bulgarian split squats Yeah, I fuck with some front squats once in a while, you know, it's not my favorite variation, but I do work them in So that's that's what I would go with there Yeah, you didn't taint my answer, but my answer is the same. I would definitely kill zirch or squat
Starting point is 01:39:29 That's the easiest choice. Like I don't have to think about that one and then I would marry Bulgarian split squats because I do regularly program. I mean they suck but I do regularly those so I Would marry them. Yeah, so I do regularly program those. So I would marry them. Yeah, so I have the same answer as you. What about you? What's your answer, Big Lee?
Starting point is 01:39:51 So I would, I'd marry front squats. They're good for you. They're very useful. They're good, they're good. They're not gonna leave you out to dry. I would kill Bulgarians because I hate them. The people are the squats. Just the squats. I'm not, I am a fan of the Bulgarian people. And I would fuck this.
Starting point is 01:40:24 I don't remember if he's originally from Bulgaria. That's actually a really good one. I have no idea why that, if that, that's just his ringing a bell to me. I'm looking right now. Guys name Savatinov, Bulgaria. That might be Samsonite, we were way off. He is an American strongman from Bulgaria. According to his Wikipedia entry.
Starting point is 01:40:50 Don't get him around Lee. He hates those guys. Kill all of them. Was this, is this, this is your first time that you've had your voice on the podcast, I would guess, right? This is indeed. All right.
Starting point is 01:41:08 We got to get you. You don't have too far of a trip. We got to get you to Western Northeast, South Dakota. One of these summers. It's hard for me to get out there in the summer with what I do for work. Okay. I'm hoping maybe next year for crew falls. Okay.
Starting point is 01:41:23 Okay. That would work. When winter is a little easier for me. Okay. Nice, okay. That would work. Winter's a little easier for me to get out of town. We're gonna pencil you in for next December. Well, then I have to come. Yes, you probably, there's free stickers and koozies if you, that helps for some of that also. Can't afford not to come then.
Starting point is 01:41:42 Bingo. All right, well great call great question Let me know if you ever get to Superior, Wisconsin to check out where the admin Fitzgerald took off from I will send you guys pictures Sounds good. Thanks Lee. All right. Have a good night. Yeah, you too. See ya bye Well, that was a good one and I know I think so. Yeah, I think we end on a high note of that one. We there are several others I didn't get to. We just just never know how many rings we're going to hear in the next 10 minutes. We will straight minutes of phone call the phone ringing dead air. If you didn't get to call again, you didn't get on on this one.
Starting point is 01:42:20 We'll we'll do it again sometime and you'll get your chance again. We did get to get a lot of people knocked off the list that got to have an opportunity I think big Lee was the perfect one to end on though. I think that was Yep, you knew that I want I as soon as he said from he was from Wisconsin All I wanted to know about was if he had been to Where the SS Edmund Fitzgerald took off from and he didn't even let me ask. He already knew just knows This episode you know what I know about this episode it's brought to you by our Didn't even let me ask. He already knew. Just knows. This episode, you know what I know about this episode?
Starting point is 01:42:48 It's brought to you by our buddy Chad Wesley Smith over at Juggernaut AI. You check him out at juggernautai.app. You can use discount code massonomics. It saves you 10% for the lifetime of that membership when you use the discount code. It ends up costing about $30 a month. It is like having a coach right in the palm of your hand right in your pocket wherever it is you put your phone It's like having a coach right on your phone clip
Starting point is 01:43:11 On your belt your hip Yeah It's like having coach right in your your front shirt pocket. Yep. That's right coach. Yeah You know, it's crazy to me when I see people that put their phone in their back pocket. Because I'm like, you're just begging to sit on that. Yeah, destroy something. Yeah, it seems like phones have become way more resilient.
Starting point is 01:43:35 Even like the iPhone is just way more resilient than it used to be. Yeah, I think, well, first they've added, you know, water protection over the years. Right. You know, varying levels of that. And then I think the glass just gets a little better That's what I was gonna say it seems like the screens just get cracked way less often Yeah, the glass does get better
Starting point is 01:43:52 They always talk about that every year like the shatter resistance of it and things like that and then I don't know if you remember But back in the day they used to have glass backs Usually don't have glass back. I mean they bounce between usually don't have glass back. I mean, they bounce between titanium. Not to be confused with glass packs on an automobile. Yeah, very, very easily to confuse those things. Glass backs, not glass backs. Not that.
Starting point is 01:44:14 So yeah, if you want to use, you know, you put wherever you put your phone, that's your coach. Front, back, top, bottom, it's all up to you, man. Yeah, and it is a phasic training they use as helps you get stronger. It leads up to a meter, just a testing day. And Tommy's using it right now. Tommy, what's the training update? Dude, it's kind of getting intimidating. I've loaded up four plates on the bar damn near every time going in
Starting point is 01:44:38 the gym all of a sudden. I'm like, Oh, that's just on bench day. That's just my incline day. No, but it's now at the point where pretty much every time I squatter deadlift, four plates are getting on the bar. And mentally, man, it's been a while since I've been in that state. So it's been a while. You should we kick off the live listeners before?
Starting point is 01:45:03 I mean, so they don't so they don't hear the rest of your update? So we can just ramble on for a long time now. Ram alone. So here, I'm just getting them out of here. But so your weights are kicking up there, though. Yeah, I mean, I've squatted 405 or more multiple times or on multiple days in the last month already. And that's because I'm moving into these strength blocks now.
Starting point is 01:45:27 But have like all the days been good then basically at the end of the day, or you like, are you having any days that you're like today was the first day I would say didn't feel that good, but I knew it going today is one of those days where I went to, I went to have lifted today, but because it's Christmas week, um, we're leaving tomorrow. I'm going to be gone for two days. I'm going to go like for two days. I'm going to Belmont for two days, then I'm going to Aberdeen for two days. And I
Starting point is 01:45:47 can't, I do plan on lifting once in Aberdeen, but I can't be that far behind. I can't be starting my first day of the week on like Thursday, right? It just puts me in a big hole. It really messes up programming. So I had to do it today. Otherwise, there was never once today is that I just been like burnt out lately, just because I knew this week was coming. I mean, between Christmas and personal life and work life and all this stuff, it's just been like the perfect storm of like, and then leaving for four days. I'm like, so trying to get so much
Starting point is 01:46:15 stuff done. So yeah, normally would not lift on this day. I would have been like, no, I will sleep good tonight and take a shot of this tomorrow. But sometimes you just gotta make it happen. And the weights moved, they moved fine. Just not as good as I would have wanted them to. But that's just how it is sometimes. But not surprisingly really though. No, no, and actually honestly, for how I felt this morning, it probably actually went better than I thought.
Starting point is 01:46:37 And you know, I still rated everything probably you know, in that like seven RPE area. But I think on a fresh day it would be significantly better than that so yeah things still are going very good there. Well you knew you couldn't lift in Mill Bank because they don't have the Smith machine anymore. We have taken the Smith machine and the weight plates off their hands so. So you wouldn't really be able to do much there. Yeah so then I'm just stuck trying to lift up Masastinomics Gym and we know that can be real hit or miss at times. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 01:47:07 We don't even have much for machines there. Well, we do have new Smith machines. I might just bench on the Smith machine for my bench day. We do have new dumbbell racks now too. Oh yeah, okay, well, we can talk about that. Maybe we should finish up this Juggernaut ad before we get too distracted. Yeah, so check it out at juggernautai.app.
Starting point is 01:47:22 It's the training that Tommy uses just as he said. Use discount code Mastinomics. Thanks Juggernautai.app. It's the training that Tommy uses, just as he said. Use discount code Mastodonomics. Thanks, Juggernaut. And to piggyback off of that too, one part of Juggernaut subscription that people might forget that doesn't get enough love is the Smart Barbell app is included for free with your Juggernaut subscription app.
Starting point is 01:47:37 So today is a classic day where I'm feeling mentally and physically pretty fatigued. I gotta get the work in. I do it, I record my video I Load that video into the smart barbell app and it gives me some velocity Estimates or I don't even know if I'd say estimates They're pretty damn accurate some velocity numbers and I say oh They're actually not that slow when I go back and look at it through time
Starting point is 01:48:00 So I'm getting some subjective data on my lifts and the smart smart barbell app is included for free if you have a juggernaut subscription. So just another nice little tool in the toolbox to help you with your training. Excellent. Also, if you're looking for any nutrition, nutrition, planning apps, macro factor, we do have a code code, massonomics with macro factor, it'll get you some extra free time before you have to start paying. So use as just one more pitch macro factor uses code massonomics.
Starting point is 01:48:33 And we still have people signing up every month. Every month. Yeah, we get new people using one of those days. It's gonna be me. It's gonna be me. Okay, Justin Timberlake. Okay, Justin Timberlake. Yeah, okay. So yes, new dumbbell racks though. This now matches the other one that you'd gotten not too long ago. Now doing it a second time, do you feel like you were
Starting point is 01:49:00 much better at putting it together or was it about the same as the first one? It is just a pro. So here's the process. I'll just go through this quickly as I possibly can, which probably won't be that quickly. So first of all, this comes from China. It comes on a truck of freight truck to Western Northeast, South Dakota. They give me no warning whatsoever. This time I have no idea.
Starting point is 01:49:20 I just knew this had left China and somewhere to be to get to me at some point in time I knew it left months ago, you know on via ship and I was in the gym just last week, I guess and I had missed a call from my wife and Came back to it and she had sent me a Picture and she's like did you forget to tell me about something and there was a truck out front of our house You know and I could tell was an equipment truck. It's you said, Ron, it's not coming for you. We often get equipment trucks in front of our house. So she knew that what was going on. And she's usually I give her a heads up the same old story. Someone's coming, you know, the yada yada. And
Starting point is 01:49:59 they had and then I'm looked and I'm like, Oh, yeah, I had a missed call from them. They tried to call me like 10 minutes before they showed up at our house. That was all the warning I had on this luckily this one did have a lift gate so he could Set it down. So the last one you said they had to go to the gym to unload it I actually had to get my neighbor that has a skid steer to come over Yeah, it's crazy, but I had a little bit more notice on that so I could line it up that time Yeah, this time I'm like that was my. This time I'm like, that was my first thing. I'm like, Oh my god, does he have a lift gate? Like, do we need to get it? What what do we got? But now he did. So he got
Starting point is 01:50:30 it into the garage and then so much packaging. It legitimately takes a long time just to unpackage this thing. I mean, and breaking the pallet down, put it all in the back. I don't know. We're talking a three tier dumbbell rack with a sliding shelf on the bottom. Yeah That's really just right here. Yeah, the sliding shelf is the fourth. Oh fourth year. Okay. Yeah, yeah Yeah, so it's four tier got one just like it now, you know It'll hold like 20 pairs of dumbbells and this one just fits right next to it. Just barely there is literally
Starting point is 01:51:01 I actually can't even flush up the racks perfectly They're like off-center or one has to be like a half inch out farther than the other one really because that's how tight it is Really? There's no room. They can't sit the feet on them. It's just the feet are a little too wide If I like I had time and like to grind off like the edges of the feet because they don't need to be that wide I could then like like literally like I'm showing with my fingers, but I could move them this far then. And then they'd line up. So we're talking like, like less than a half of an inch basically. Or yeah, like it is just like maybe a quarter of an inch that's costing me there that makes it so the dumbbell, like you can't notice unless you're literally like looking down,
Starting point is 01:51:42 like you're like, Oh yeah, the feet don't line up perfectly. Um, that's how tight the space was. Kind of coincidentally. I mean, I knew it was close, but so I got to put together. I mean, it's a many hours long process between unpacking it and getting put, putting it together is not hard. That's like the easiest part of the whole process. But I am proud to say after having that first one in and Rearranging and doing all that work by the end of it. I was kind of like, oh My god, I did so much work and do I even like this better? Like is this even better or was that like every say biggest waste of my time and money ever?
Starting point is 01:52:18 Even had kind of had mixed feelings on the podcast. Yeah But now after having the second one in and cleaning everything else up. I'm like, okay Yep, I just need to get the other one in here and now Which feels like we cuz all those other random spare dumbbells that I had on the floor I now have them in like the old York and that was off to the right, right? That's off to the right It it feels like we have a comically large amount of, like you are literally surrounded by dumbbells in a way that you're like,
Starting point is 01:52:48 there are so many dumbbells in here. That was what I noticed when you just sent me that video because I haven't been there, I haven't seen the first one yet even, so I haven't seen that part. And then when you sent them- Oh, you haven't seen that one? No, I haven't even seen the first one yet.
Starting point is 01:52:59 I haven't been back to Aberdeen since August. It's been a long time. Right, it's been a while. It's been a while. It's been a while. And when you sent that video, I'm like, Ken, this is just like a wall of dumbbells you're surrounded by over here. It's like two walls.
Starting point is 01:53:12 Like you're just, you are completely engulfed by dumbbells. There is like no possible way there could be enough people in there lifting dumbbells for you ever to have to wait for any denomination. Also, if you're lifting like a five, 10, 15, 20, or 25, there's like seven sets of all of those. There's just, I'm like, where did these come from? Like, why do I have all these hacks?
Starting point is 01:53:37 So now do you need, because you said you kind of have this miscellaneous rack to the right, does that rack need to be upgraded to something? I just, what I need to do is get rid of like a bunch of these Like there's just no use for these Other than maybe a doorstop. I do forget that there was just enough things kind of like under shelves and on that floor and stuff That you don't really do that. You didn't really know there's like a rack completely full of that stuff now I'm probably like why did Tanner get all these bet?
Starting point is 01:54:05 Like, why did Tanner pick up all these bad dumbbells recently? Not knowing that you would be like, where did these come from? And like, no, they were all here. They were just tucked in corners and all over the place. So the York ones look really cool on the rack though, too. It looks like, do the, do the York ones take up the full, that full rack? Do they use the smalls don't fit on there. So right now, the rack is 10 to 100s by fives.
Starting point is 01:54:29 Yeah. But the only thing, this is completely not material, but the 10s, like every York dumbbell is slightly different. So the smallest on the rack is the 10s. The 10s are like a quarter of an inch too short. The handle with really that when they go on the rack, they have to sit on there at a they don't like really they don't nestle on both sides now.
Starting point is 01:54:54 Surprising. And then I'm like, oh, the smaller ones for sure wouldn't fit then. No, they wouldn't do anything on the 15 is the smallest York. It's clean. That would fit clean in there because that because there's also 12 so I was like Oh, I'll just do the 12s then instead of the 10s and the 12 12s also don't fit But then the 15s are drastically different, you know The handle sway longer on the 15 than it is on the I would have never never get I mean I suppose but I just Would have never guessed that that would be yeah
Starting point is 01:55:20 But so yeah, there's been a lot of gym changes in the last couple weeks so now all of a sudden it's like but and now that I got all those York dumbbells out of From along next to that cuz they were kind of just like stashed to the side sort of right They weren't really on display or in a spot. Oh easily accessible and there's more room there now So now like I've been looking at say this arsenal chest supported row the humbler I'm like there's room for that right there I just like move that just a little moving of equipment there, you know It does look a lot better without having all the dumbbells all over the floor
Starting point is 01:55:55 Yeah, yeah, I feel way better about the whole project now that it's complete than when it was like 75% done I'm like this sucks. Well, what this is so much work for no Benefit, but now I feel I'm singing a little bit different to know okay And so then what you're just saying you have not made any final decisions on arsenal items yet My only problem is is I've been so busy at my day job That usually I make those executive decisions when I get have a little spare time at work clear minds some me Yeah, I think yeah, and you know you ever have that where you're like okay? I'm finally not busy decisions when I get have a little spare time at work. Clear minds, some me time to really think it through. Yeah, and you know, you ever have that where you're like, okay, I'm finally not busy.
Starting point is 01:56:29 Let me actually look at this thing. It's like big purchase. It's like, I have a gut feeling, but I just really need to like think through all the scenarios here. Right, right. And then it's like, you never want to do that. If you're like, I'm not doing that when I'm in a rush.
Starting point is 01:56:41 No, no. I'm not gonna be like, Oh, let me go rush to do this. Right. You gotta come to it when you're like,. I'm not going to be like, oh, let me go rush to do this. Right. You've got to come to it when you can come to a decision and be like, yep, I'm fully confident in the choice I've made here. So I'm leaning more and more towards getting that, but that's been my thing is I just haven't had any time to just really marinate in the decision.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Yeah. That's fair. I just want to live in that decision for a while and See how? How sad will I be if I do or don't do it? Uh-huh? How much joy will it bring me if I do or don't do it? You know bring a lot of joy at some point but It's like does it bring me three thousand dollars worth of Always the question does it bring me an old used cars worth of joy dodge Neon's worth of joy You get a lot of joy out of that
Starting point is 01:57:29 The dumbbell racks though. I can say we'll do a video more on this, but those bring me joy those uh those Are what they're crack, you know those are worth what you get and the whole process is doable and Save me like $10,000 versus the alternative. Well, not versus any alternative but versus the really ultra cool. Yeah, right. This kind of actually ties into something, I don't know if you just saw a Couped video
Starting point is 01:57:56 talking about tariffs. Yeah. Did you watch that video? Yeah, I did. I thought that was interesting. He actually, I do gotta give him credit for actually talking to people that have companies that import stuff Yeah, get some of their input on how this would affect prices
Starting point is 01:58:10 So, you know, it's probably the right move you buy in those those those dumbbell racks could have been significantly more expensive next year Yeah, I'm curious like how stuff works through Alibaba Like I don't I actually don't know I'm purely curious like is there any loop because it's Nothing Alibaba is shady But but also it's not like that right? You know buying anything from an American based company right right right? I would imagine that they haven't just figured out that like you probably just they must have to bake it into the price instead of Charging the company they just charge you directly now, I would think. Right.
Starting point is 01:58:46 I would think so. I don't I actually don't know. I don't know how that works. That's how that works. But actually, I shouldn't say that's how that works. I don't know how that's. Let me say again, I do not know how that works. Yeah. Confusing way for me to wrap that up, that thought of it.
Starting point is 01:59:02 I do not know how that works. But if you're saying buying from rep as a more clear example, that would be the concern is that then that would be, will be baked into the price, because it would have to be, you know, I suppose, if that's what happens and et cetera, et cetera, with everything going on. Yep.
Starting point is 01:59:24 Oh, well, our t-shirts get more expensive. That's why we, you know. Actually, I don't think any of our t-shirts are made in China. That's true, but is it just China, though? Well, that's actually, yeah. No one knows. Back to the thing that no one knows.
Starting point is 01:59:37 Like, I don't know any of that stuff, so, yeah. It's also funny, though, like even we've seen, though. Will Nicaragua be affected? I know, because we've seen, you can order, like, affected? I know, because we've seen you can order the like, well, for example, next level, when we're using that blank, one time it'd be Nicaragua, one time it would be... Maybe that's part of the game they're playing. Yeah, there's like three different countries
Starting point is 01:59:58 that you would get the t-shirts from, and it'd be supposedly the same t-shirt, but it would come from different countries. I'm also not positive it was ever really the same t-shirt actually with next level. Yes, I'm Definitely was not towards the end. I'm not sure what level they were going to and I don't know is the next one Well next level Okay What else do we need to should we kind of should we bring this one on home? Yeah, I'll say one thing
Starting point is 02:00:23 I was surprised you posted a video of you lifting today. Man, you could actually tell your one leg is a lot smaller than the other, isn't it? Oh, it's way smaller. God, that's crazy how fast that changes. Way smaller, I mean, like that is not insignificant for my loss of body weight. You know, like my actual leg being drastically smaller.
Starting point is 02:00:41 Oh, I mean, is there 10 pounds that is missing on that leg? I don't know, like it could be. Maybe that's, are missing? I don't know. It could be. Maybe that's, you know, I don't know. There's probably at least five. I was going to say five doesn't seem like that crazy. Right. Right. Yeah. That's, that is wild seeing that actual difference.
Starting point is 02:00:56 Cause I think when you have a deadlifting video and you can just straight on and you can clearly see that. Uh, Oh, it's like I can bear. Uh, it's actually, it's like I can it's bear. It's actually it's actually right now It is three centimeter smaller is what the last measurement was from last week So about an inch, but then the knee it's funny cuz you're my knee is a centimeter and a half bigger because just swelling still You know, they're still swelling ten weeks later. Okay, so that would also make things look even more out of right Because my knee is bigger than my other leg.
Starting point is 02:01:25 And then my knee is wider. It makes your calf look even smaller. Yeah, right. Right. Yeah, my thigh and calf are both smaller. But I'm right where like that is part of the process is them measuring at certain points in time. And I am I'm actually even it'd be common for it to be about four centimeters smaller than your non repair non surgical side and I'm like at three centimeters smaller it's probably splitting hairs at
Starting point is 02:01:51 that point but I'm like at least where you're supposed to be if not like a little bit better all right just taking this at full speed here celebrating the recovery yeah it doesn't really feel like it I feel like that I mean the recovery is basically just right on track That's where it's supposed to be. But yeah that part of it that takes a long time, you know, it's I Can't remember from last last time when I was like, okay good. My legs are the same size again I don't ever like this. It's one of those things There's never a day when it's like that all of a sudden because it's just so slow and gradual though
Starting point is 02:02:24 It seems like well Should my other leg just keep getting bigger and stronger. They should never catch up to each other, but eventually they do right yeah Yeah, and I do like so much of my rehab is all single leg, and you're not really I'm not doing my other leg that much you know everything. I'm doing double leg I'm getting that work in that leg, but also it's also light that it's no work for my my good leg Oh, it's not like but that's part of it to those It seems like this is so light that like why is my other leg gonna like have hypertrophy happen of any kind? But I mean it right obviously it does happen, but right right
Starting point is 02:02:59 That's life. Yeah, that's kind of crazy. That's life with one small leg. Yeah, that's well joke about me not having any quads I literally do not have one quad for sure right now where that one is is Like no like if I flex them in the mirror. You're like, yep. That side is like missing something That is definitely not a problem here. Yeah get about the dr. Mike hypertrophy program I need to start doing some some of those now that we got Smith machine. I'll do those really narrow stance. Yeah elevated Sissy yep squats. Yep. Get you on the the highest slant board you got get after it. Yeah, I Do next week would like to talk a little about plural possessives and f1 neck training. That's right
