And I don't know if you caught this Tanner, but there is a new colorway of the ursis
Gen 2 out right now.
They have came out with the white all Arctic white version in low
top and high top.
I believe that marks the first high top option for the gen two.
I think this is a a high top.
Well, they have the high top and the low top.
They got both. Oh, it's like a world premiere here.
Wow. And you're asking Gen one, Gen two. Bring me up to speed top. They got both options like a world premiere here. Wow.
And you're asking Jen one, Jen to bring me up to speed here.
What's going on?
The Jen one is like your real true barefoot shoe.
The closest you can get to not wearing a shoe, but still wearing a shoe.
The Jen two takes the same barefoot upper, but gives you just the faintest
hint of a soul under it, just a little bit more than that average or than the original
Barefoot so it bridges that gap between barefoot footwear and a more traditional sneaker and
Can be a great option if you need something
That has maybe a little more did some different style points to it
I could I could definitely recommend those so if you had an overdue barefoot dot store you can use code
Mastinomics and you can save 10% on your next order code barefoot or barefoot dot store code Mastinomics saves you 10%
Thank you barefoot shoes. Oh
My goodness what an episode this week we've got sack segments can segments
horse-doll mat reviews
We've got some things. I don't even know what they are.
We're gonna talk about some controversy
in the gym equipment world, of course.
I wanna talk about some proper etiquette.
I've got a special new segment this week too.
I see that.
I mean, I'm excited for this episode.
There's just so much on the plate here.
I don't even know.
I was just looking at it earlier.
I'm like, this is gonna be a pretty sweet episode. There's good
Yeah, there might be some silly goose stuff happening on this one. So strap on in we're gonna take some wild turns on this one
I think don't you I do believe so
Okay, is there anything special that you want to get to first or?
Okay
I'd mentioned this freestyle update. Everyone needs a a good freestyle update especially when we're talking the Ford
Freestyle I was hoping and I was hoping this was the Ford freestyle
I told you I have I've been on the lookout form in Sioux Falls, and I was saying they don't exist
I come to Everdeen. I see two in like 30 minutes when I'm there the other day
I saw two on my way home from my kids daycare and both of them
What's the gold color called again?
Well, were they Pueblo gold Pueblo gold both of them and are you sure they were different?
They were because we were heading opposite directions like they would have had to done a crazy
You we and somehow got ahead of me
I mean it was opposite ends of town too
So it would be possible that the Pueblo gold
Freestyle is a glitch in the matrix and I like it was like every time you see to Pueblo gold for free
sales, it's actually that's when the Matrix is like, like, wait,
calibrate, you say to Pueblo gold freestyle.
We got to get out of here.
Did you you ran though the woman instead of the woman in the red dress simulation?
It's the Pueblo gold for three solid.
It's like I can sense that you're yeah that's what it was or like
you know inception when he has a little spinny top and that tells him if he's a
in his dream or like his totem yeah I think so I mean that would make sense if
it wasn't called that but that's my that's my totem is the pebble
That's how I know if I'm dreaming or alive
But not only did I see two of those I say is there kind of like a forest green kind of color too Do you know?
There could be I know there's a blue and a red and a Pueblo
But always catches me off guard is the vehicle is much bigger than I
always think I yeah, I just
From behind I'm like damn this thing is
For a second. I think is this a lowered SUV or is it?
You know, it's just hard to tell until I'm like right up on it and can confirm that it is in fact
It's it's really it's its own animal. I think they broke the mold with that one
It's really it's its own animal. I think they broke the mold with that one
Because it is quite tall it actually is just significantly long too because I we go through streaks where we have the third row up and the third row not
Up and even actually with the third row up
I mean it must cram some of the space like in that third row and second row there's even less but there's like just as much
room behind the third row seat as
you know conventionally a Tahoe or the smaller Expedition or a
Yukon.
Here's a quick search for ya.
The, I like when I Google Ford Freestyle length,
Google returns the Ford Taurus X.
I don't know if that was like a.
Well they did change it to the Taurus after.
Okay, so maybe that was the.
Cause some, here's a thing though,
you have to look closely if it's really a freestyle or not,
because sometimes you'd be like,
oh, it's a Ford Freestyle, and it's like, nope,
that's a Taurus, Taurus X actually, I think is the...
Cause this says the 2009 Ford Taurus X length was 200 inches.
And just for comparison, let's say,
we have a 2020 Tahoe, our 2020 Tahoe,
204 inches, so the freestyle is only four inches shorter
than a Tahoe.
So it is a fairly, it's a pretty big vehicle.
And that's why they call it the freestyle.
They were just freestyling it when they made that thing.
So I am happy to report I have seen another three freestyles in the, made that thing so I'm happy to report. I have seen another
Three freestyles in the land
I get almost as excited to see a freestyle as I do for any like actual real exotic car in this town at this point
Yeah
I did get tricked though on the for the Taurus X though one day in the pick up school pickup line
I'm like holy frig. It's a friggin freestyle right here with me. We're both here at school and I'm like Taurus X
Oh my god lame like the poser vehicle like oh, you could pony up for a freestyle
So yeah, you had to get a Taurus X which is the same car only a little newer
Some gatekeeping about the freestyle
I'm gonna have some up a little gold on it some gatekeeping about the freestyle
It's like everyone knows what a Taurus is nobody knows what a freestyle is
It's like I was driving the weird
Ford Suv mid-2000 SUV before they even called it a Taurus before all you guys are
Station wagon yeah
So that's my freestyle update I
Report back as I have more sightings
I would like to I I hope to think we have a Ford freestyle update every week on the podcast for as long as possible
We're lucky. Yeah, I haven't had much to update on it, but hopefully I
Have I have driven the Ford Freestyle over a thousand miles since
we've had it.
Really?
Yeah, and you know what I think every mile that racks up on it, I'm like, just another
mile not on my pickup.
Yep.
Just saving my 12-year-old pickup while the Reset Valley on it.
I mean, what you should think is just another mile in pure luxury.
Like, that's what you should be thinking.
That is true. All right like that's what you should be thinking that is true
All right, that's a freestyle. What about our what's in the can segment? Yeah, let's do this We both got this is a true legitimate. What's in the can segment. This was given to us at the Arnold
Did I actually completely forgot who gave us to this to us until right now. I just had a thought was this from big Katie
Yeah, maybe because it is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, okay had to have been then yeah
And what's that I was trying to piece together where did the hell this come from?
So what are we sipping on this? This is a central waters brewing co hop water
Brewed and canned in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
mmm non-alcoholic Hop water brewed and canned in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Mmm, not alcoholic nectar on and Citra hopped sparkling water
Central waters brewing they have huck Finn's logo as their
Pelican
So pelican or crane. I think this one is a crane. Isn't it?
Yeah, they didn't doesn't have the large trouble by him the overly large bottom beak
Yes, what a pelican put in that thing fish they can put anything you've seen put animals in those before
Do they do that? There's videos on YouTube of them like swallowing up like a seagull and it's like flying around in that thing
Yeah, it's wild. I wonder what the evolutionary reason is for the
Enormous well, I think it's like it's like a fishnet. They just scoop things up. Okay. Yeah, that's if I had it
Sit and then it sifts out and they maybe maybe they just drink all that water
Well, let's see what we're they're really thirsty. That's just the thirstiest animal
the thirstiest animal. It is shocking how much this just feels and tastes like a beer. An IPA at that. Yeah, but it is not. I'm just spilling on myself now because I'm laughing
at the idea of thinking of drinking like 10 of these in a day. Yeah, yeah. This is your preferred beverage.
And I got water, I got hot water all over me now.
One pint, I was just curious how many calories were in this.
A pint's a pound the world around.
Pounder.
Contains less than half a percent alcohol by volume.
Well, what do we think?
Boy, these really are in a class of their own because.
My brain is telling me, all right, we're drinking now.
Here we go. My body, my body is telling me my body is going to be telling me, no,
we're not drinking now.
I don't know. I don't mind that flavor.
I and I and I like a good IPA.
I don't know. I don't mind that flavor. I and I and I like a good IPA
I'm not sure how to rate this because it really feels like you can't say that This is a this is a three and a half and then also give someone a three and a half sparkling water because they're so
Drastically different. Yeah, it kind of really does belong on its own scale. I'd say for what it is
Just have so few hot waters to compare it
again. So it's pretty good. No, it is pretty it is pretty good.
You definitely would be hard to drink several of these at a
time. Oh, no, I like never drinks. There's days I could put
down multiple lime or lemon La Croix is almost back to back
to back. But right. I don't know. I'm probably like around three three and a half on here. I
Gotta say I like it more than I would suspect that I even would it's just such a trip for my brain that I'm not
Drinking a high alcohol beverage right now or high alcohol beer. I'll go out and limb. I'll give it a three and a half. I
alcohol beer. I'll go out on a limb.
I'll give it a three and a half.
I think that's fair.
Oh, special guest appearance this week.
I haven't seen Bernie on the show for a while.
Yeah, he's just got shaved.
So now he's at the point where he's cold all the time.
So he's constantly looking for a summer to cozy up
and he's decided that the couch back here
is a great spot for it.
Yeah, he just liked it.
He wanted a little more airtime too.
He likes the airtime too.
Yeah, he's like, God, some of these newer listeners
don't even know about me.
I'll be the Easter egg for this week's episode.
For the viewers.
Excellent can segment.
I do also have a sack segment.
Oh, partner with this.
A lot of segments to burn through here.
Yeah, I do not know who sent this, because I think they had it shipped directly from the people that sell it
Unless I bought this a while ago, and I just don't even remember I actually completely forgot. Maybe I bought this I
Don't think I did though. I think it got sent here
I am not even sure at this point if I bought it it was so long ago that I can't remember and I completely forgot
That is ever even coming. That's why I think someone sent it
Surprise you buy something you forget about it just shows up someday
That's I really don't know but I do have a few of them here
So I there's one with your name on it. Also whether I bought this or someone sent it to us. I'm not sure
Let me know down in the comment section,
did you send us this?
Drop a comment down on YouTube, did you send us this?
I think you're gonna be pretty excited about this.
Bumper stickers.
Nice.
I like those, that's good.
Never forget the Edmund Fitzgerald,
November 10th, 1975, big 50th year anniversary.
Yep, it's one for the book, for the record books.
I like the bumper sticker too,
just the bold simplicity of it.
It's really, it's definitely a bumper sticker too.
It's made for the elements,
just like the Edmund Fitzgerald, not so
much but in thought. Yeah so yeah I actually was trying to talk Jack and
putting one of these on the freestyle. People just seem like yeah I mean that
kind of makes sense. Never forget the Edmund Fitzgerald. Is that a 14 year old driving that? He's so cultured. He knows about the Edmund Fitzgerald. Is that a 14 year old driving that?
He's so cultured.
He knows about the Edmund Fitzgerald.
And he's driving a Ford Freestyle, not even a Taurus X?
One of these is absolutely going on the Smith Machine.
Oh yeah, that's great on the Smith Machine.
The Smith Machine sticker project is coming right along.
I would call out again if anyone's got any stickers of their
gym or whatever and they want them on the Smith machine you just got to send them to me and
The I'm on a mission to completely cover as Smith machine has anyone been surprising you with stickers or have you put every one of them on?
I've put them all on but some people have sent some in okay. I didn't know I've been any members were loading the thing
I haven't seen that I don't know if people are people think that they have the liberty to do that
I could I could see that yeah, you know I don't know although it certainly is not an exact science on how
Just completely cover something yes
I do love this though.
I do really like this.
That's a good one.
Yeah.
Okay.
That is our SAC segment and our CAN segment for this week.
We are gonna get to our title topic in a little bit.
I wondered if we should play,
or do my new segment first though.
Oh, yeah.
You wanna do that now or before the title topic?
Okay, so the segment is called,
we used to be a proper country.
We used to be a proper country.
Yep, exactly.
The way I figure it's gonna work is I'm going to,
I got a few things I'm gonna to read off and then we just,
you know, if we feel like it makes you think like we used to be a proper country,
then we just say like, we, we used to be a proper country.
Okay. Like it's like things that might make you say we used to be a proper
country. Okay. Okay. And like, you just have to see if it passes the, we used to
be a proper country test or not. Yep. All, I think I think I'm kind of following I think you know
So this is the we used to be a proper freakin country
Segment of the mathematics podcast and play along at home, you know if you hear would stop you from screaming. Yeah
If you hear us say this stuff
If you hear us say this stuff and it makes you also think that we used to be a proper country say it
Drop a comment down below even you know
Go down here in the YouTube section and leave us comment about how we used to be a proper friggin country
You can also maybe submit some of your other ideas of what you'd like to see in
Future editions of we used to be a proper friggin country
so first one
disposable cameras
and
actual photos
You know what I mean actual photos that you held in your hand and the people walking around with disposable cameras actual
Actual photos getting a real photo in your hand. Disposable cameras were a real thing.
I feel like we probably hit peak.
We were probably peak disposable camera.
I don't know, maybe it was a little bit before us even.
Yeah, we were at least in it.
We were in the high end.
I mean, even point and shoots for that, Matt.
Well, we really rolled, we got to see the wave of
Yeah, digital cameras everyone had there then.
Like in like middle school, high school,
I remember people having disposable cameras all the time.
And then like in college, it started to like go more
into the point and shoot cameras.
And then slowly into flip phones
and then slowly to more and more intelligent phones
as time went on.
But dude, yeah, disposable cameras,
man, that was where it was at.
It was, yeah, cameras man. That was where it was at. It was a that was
Yeah, those are good and go go into Walmart or wherever and get your photos developed
Oh, yeah, and I don't know actually I started to do a few later on as once
Once people got out of that then I'm like, oh now I'm gonna get disposable cameras
and I probably had I've probably went through a few in my early 20s, but
and I probably, I've probably went through a few in my early 20s, but yeah, by that time,
the ship had long since sailed on film cameras.
There was very few people doing that anymore.
Anthony said in the live chat,
those supporting members listening live,
he said, what is a disposable camera?
I don't know, he might be pulling our leg
a little bit on that, I'm not sure.
He is young enough that he wouldn't have to know
Okay, he says I'm joking. Okay
Cuz you would still know like you would even like I get what you're saying
You're young enough like you probably never really used one, but you would still know that I think I would think so
but it'd be like if someone talked about like
You know what? I don't know whatever the millimeter film is that people used to have home camera and like where you go like this
I'm like, yeah. Yeah, I know I've never used it
So, what do you think I mean yeah, we used to be a proper country
We used to be a proper friggin country with photos in our hand and disposable cameras
Yes Really makes you say we used to be a proper friggin country it does and disposable cameras. Yes, yes.
Really makes you say we used to be a proper frigging country. It does.
Although the pictures everyone has are way better.
Yeah, I mean the photos will be real, the photos all suck.
But they had a feeling to them.
Maybe the theme of we used to be a proper country
is like what we have now is actually better.
Yes, yes.
But there was a certain rawness to those photos because no one knew if their
photos getting taken. You didn't really know what it was pointing at. You don't know if
the flash was working right or if someone was just going to just turn into this white
ghost or if you were going to see someone. Yeah. And Buzz brings up a good point in the
live chat too. If it really makes you think you used to be a proper country, you might
even throw in a say it louder for the people in the back
Just to really emphasize drive that point home people know you're not messing around
All right
Here's another one how many do we got just so I'm just three this okay, okay three, okay?
I didn't know if this is a one thing or a five thing or okay three three. I three. Okay, okay
I don't know if I want to spend the whole episode talking about how we used to be a proper
Although I could from an interesting good
Friggin could do it. All right
Using cash to buy stuff dude walk into a store
Buy something with a $20 bill
I'll not be asked for your email your phone number or to round up for charity
We used to be a proper frigging country.
Round up for charity, yeah, God.
Get out your bi-fold and pull out a $20 bill
and pay for something.
I'll tell you what, man.
Give me my change.
I've had a little cash on hand lately,
and as the years go on, I just, I know it doesn't matter,
but it just makes me feel like more and more
of a high roller when I'm like
Cash, please, you know, it's almost like not that long ago
I feel like there's maybe a thing in Wayne's rule or something where they're like card, please
Just like that was right, you know whipping out the card was like a sign of
And now like no cash when the cash comes out. I feel like you know, I feel like you're rolling in it and
Yeah cash is way underrated. It is crazy
to me how many places are cashless. Right? Oh, like there's way too many.
I get a little annoyed. I mean, although I use card for most things, it does annoy me
if I go to 99% of things in my life. But I do get a little bit of a principle.
Like when I go to the Target Center and they're like, yeah, you can't use cash in this whole
building. And I'm like, hmm, really?
You can't use the legal tender?
I just think you're just doing that because of our freaking
country.
You're just afraid of employees siphoning off an extra 20
here and there.
And this way, you know you're getting every single dollar
that's made.
That's all I can think of.
But yeah, there is definitely something
to be said that a lot of times, like in especially in
situations like that, where it's like, Oh, just given the guy a
20 would make life a lot easier here. You give me a 20 you give
me a five back for my $15 beer, we move on with life. Not this
whole, oh, do your card thing here. Oh, it didn't work. Hold
on, let me check the ends like, come on, the lines moving here.
So yes, we used to be a proper country. We used to be a proper
friggin country. And then to be a proper freaking country.
And then you don't have to let Visa
get their greasy palms greased in the process
or whoever else it is.
Visa, Stripe, couple percent.
Yeah, the terminal, whatever, all those people.
And then us, the consumers just pay in more
because you know it's baked into the cost of goods.
I don't know if you saw,
but Visa made a few dollars last year too
while they were swiping all of our money
on each transaction.
Yep.
So yeah, we used to be a proper country, right?
We used to be a proper country.
Although for the most part, using cards is nicer.
With that being said, I use cards for 99%
of my transactions, but I want options, damn it.
Isn't all about at least the illusion of choice here.
Here, this one's pretty, pretty actually significantly relevant to today's episode.
Beer was cold, cheap.
It came in 30 racks, no notes of citrus with a hoppy finish just beer
drinkable
unapologetic beer
It was just beer god
Yeah, it's like gimme I know that shit with flavor in it
What that can to be the closest to water. And if you're
drinking the flavor of water that I don't like, your beer
sucks. It's like, yeah, I love I'd love there's nothing more
than I love about people being elitist about Bud Light about
their life. Like, yeah, Miller light Miller light Bush light.
I'm like, dude, let's reveal here. It's all the same goddamn
thing. Yeah, I don't know. I might draw the line on this.
No notes of citrus with a hoppy finish.
And like, while they're saying that, they're like,
give me another one of those 4% beers, you know?
Like, well, this one has like 9%, you know?
Yes.
But I mean, they're just something to say
and grabbing a beer and someone throws you
an ice cold bush light. You just can expect that
You know, they're not that made it feel
No, it used to be a proper country and toss me a nice cold crispy one
a 30-rat guys didn't get done working a
20 hours on the skyscraper and then crack open a case of white claws
You think Dale Earnhardt finished the Daytona 500 and said, grab me
an a fresh squeeze IPA with extra bitters and whatever else bullshit in there. He said,
give me a Budweiser. Yes. He said, give me a Budweiser. And while you're at it, he said,
you know what? Give me one of those organic cigarettes that you light up with a lighter. None of this machine battery shit
that you're pumping on the essence of strawberry smoke here.
I want my cigarettes.
I want real tobacco cigarettes.
I wanna go outside.
You know what, screw it.
No, I'm gonna smoke this inside
because we used to be a proper country.
And I'm not gonna worry about this vape flavor crap.
And I'm going to use a Zippo lighter to light it.
Yes, none of these zippo sealed butane lighters
made out of plastic.
So, yeah, that's we used to be a proper country.
I think hopefully everyone gets the idea.
Yeah. Things that might make you say we used to be a proper country. I think hopefully everyone gets the idea. Yep. Things that might make you say
we used to be a proper country.
That all being said, I do like there to be
a lot of different choices of beer now
and I can go to the store and it's kind of fun
to look around at all the different things
and I might wanna try actually some of the different beers
even if it's not what I drink all the time.
As long as it was brewed in either Colorado or,
what's it, St. Louis.
And I so that all being said, I like a whole bunch of different beer
choices at the store.
I'm going to pay with my credit card when I'm there because I get extra points.
And if I send any pictures or video, silly videos of people,
I'm going to do it off my phone.
That works really good.
And everyone instantly gets my videos and photos immediately that being said though
I just I like the idea that if I ever did want to have the option do any of those other things it was
I'm not going to do those things, but just the idea that those option exists is all I'm concerned about. Yeah
Used to be a proper G. Damn country
be a proper G damn country. Yeah.
Yeah.
What about a little supporting our supporting members

They should have the spotters and loaders watch that video before every meet just to make sure everyone's up
On the latest true. It's a little piece of homework have the spotters and loaders watch that video before every meet just to make sure everyone's up on the

That's good big Joey was also the MC at that event and then
Big Dan was this week's guest on unpaid and underrated so make sure to go give that a listen our bratty little sister podcast
To the northeast at least east.
East.
Not north really is it?
Kind of southeast to be honest.
Yeah.
That's supporting our supporting members this week.
Make sure to get in on the action
by becoming a supporting member.
This week's episode is also brought to you
by our fine friends over at the Strength Co.
I'm gonna see if this little diddy works.
This is the Strength Company.
We've set out to build a better barbell plate
on American soil.
We ended up here at Wisconsin's legendary
Wapaka Foundry.
With over 60 years of ironworking experience,
the Foundry had the knowledge, technology, and processes
to build our weights to our exact specifications.
The strength company plates are slim but rugged,
smooth but easy to grip,
and electro-coated for durability
and to look great in your gym.
This is the next generation of American Eye,
only available from the Strength Company.
Thank you to the Strength Co.
You want me to do it now or should we just get to it?
Maybe we should get to it.
I guess soon we'll probably want to kick off
the live listeners.
I was thinking before we did that,
I would want to mention today's date is what?
Oh. March 26th.
Oh my gosh.
Wow.
Yeah, the month.
Today's date is what?
March has come and gone.
Yeah, in like a lion out like a lamb, am I right?
You're telling me.
Beware the Ides of March, I guess.
This episode will come out on March 31st.
We have our biggest drop.
It might be our, it could be our most important drop
that we've ever had in the history of Mastodon.
We had a lot of drops.
This could be our legacy.
Approximately how many drops do you think we've had
in the history of Mastinomics? Well?
Basically one a month for the last five years and
Then before that they were a little more sporadic, but
So we've had 75 drop. Oh, yeah for sure
I was gonna say it might be closer to between 80 and 100 which is actually insane saying that out loud now
80 to 100 potential product drops. That's a lot and I'm saying this could be our
The most influential drop we've ever had could say everything we've done has led up to this moment
Yeah, I do not want to put the cart before the horse on this one, but I think it's going to be big.
I think so too.
I think it's going to be real big and I do not want to spoil.
I don't even think, uh, we'd in order for it to be a true surprise, since this
will come out on the 30th and 31st, we can't mention anything about what it's
going to be because this one, uh, we're playing very close to the chest.
Uh, it's. It's special.
I'll just say it's special.
And this one, we decided that it's,
we typically wait till later in the day.
We're gonna release this one earlier, correct?
Yeah, what time do you think, just to finalize it here,
9.30 a.m., I wondered about, or 10 a.m., or 9 a.m.?
Somewhere between 9 and 10 a.m. Central time,
I think is the preferred time. So like 9.30 a.m. Central time. I think is the yeah the preferred time
So like 930 a.m. Could make sense somewhere in there. Yeah. Yeah, that's about the time. We're thinking on April 1st
Tuesday
2025
Nothing will be the same after this and
Just to lay it out there most specifically there is only one item in this drop. Yeah
We did not want to convolute this whatsoever,
dilute it whatsoever.
If you want to be any question about what to buy,
it's just, it's obvious.
Usually we have two or three things,
two, three, maybe four, maybe even more
if it's like Black Friday, that sort of thing,
but for this drop, we held it as its own space
as just one item and
supplies are limited and we don't know what the future holds of the, it could be a
one run and item.
It could be one and done.
I'll say this.
If you don't act on this, when it comes out, you may never get this.
I'll say this.
If you don't act on this and it comes up, you may never get this. I'll say this, if you don't act on this and it comes out,
you might be a horse's ass.
You might be a stupid horse's ass.
Price range, I'll say something about the price range.
It is exceptionally affordable, as a matter of fact.
Be one of the cheaper items on our entire website.
Yeah, at that point in time, yeah, yeah, it will be it is except
The more and more we talk about it the more we get closer to dropping. I have a downside of this
What's the cash there isn't I have a feeling?
if you don't order it like the day of
You might be a horse's ass
Very well could be.
All right, is that enough about that for now?
I think so.
April 1st, 2025, the game is changed.
Maybe we say what the title topic's gonna be
and then we kick everyone out.
Oh yeah, why don't you go ahead and.
What is the title?
I mean, what is the actual title of the topic?
Do you think?
Title topic will be Rogue Fitness Equipment Controversy.
Ooh.
Very intriguing.
Now can I kick everyone out?
Now that's what's said.
Yeah, now I think you kick them out.
Okay.
But now the problem is there's a lot of them here,
so this is gonna take me a little while.
Well, everyone comes for the pre-show anymore.
There's a lot of people.
It was pre-gaming so hard, it was a party in there.
Yeah, that's what we call it, the pre-game, right?
Yep.
Because it's like, for anyone that doesn't know,
the nomenclature, pre-gaming is what you do at home
before you go to the bar, where you get a...
To get you ready for the bar.
You prime the pump.
Yeah.
You get to show up to the bar when everyone's having a good bar and everyone don't want to show up to the bar stone sober
Yeah, and you're just like a square in the corner over there
Like I forgot to pregame it
That's the biggest mistake you could ever make right there forgetting to pregame
I mean honestly, that's almost impressive if you say you forgot to pregame. Yes
All right.
Down to the last two.
Oh, Grayson's the lucky last survivor this week.
Okay.
Get out of here.
Get out, you're out.
Okay.
You know what the Mendoza line is? It's dude, you, Brandon, came up with the Mendoza line is?
I think it's a grip measurement tool
It is I definitely heard of it before yeah
Define it. I would have a hard time. I knew it had something to do I it was a baseball reference and I had to look it up. And it's, I think it's batting over 200.
An average of 200.
Is a sign in the majors of like being like competent,
you know, like you're at least, I'd say,
you'd say it like this.
Are you at least above the Mendoza line?
Like, yes, I bat over 200.
Which is getting on base one every five times at bat.
You're like, okay, that's pretty good.
That's all it takes.
Yep.
I guess that's why it's so easy to make it.
Major League Baseball.
That's why everyone does it.
I don't know why I thought about that right now, but.
I like that little trivia.
Yeah.
Rogue fitness equipment controversy. so I don't know
We're pretty deep into this but can you help side change? I think we're very uniquely positioned to describe this because we have
met
One of the parties we're gonna talk about the Clevas and we have purchased equipment from rogue before so we are very
We are uniquelyified unlike anyone else. I mean, I don't know who else in the industry would be more qualified for this conversation than us
We know buddy. So what we're gonna we're gonna there was
There was a video released. We'll try to bring everyone up to speed on what happened here
so first thing would have to you'd have to know who are the clevas are and
They are named after a deadlift jack
No, I'm kidding I'm kidding
The the clevis are wonderful people from I believe the Phoenix area, right?
But you could convince me of that
They're a husband and wife team. They you might know them for products like the Genesis Jack, which is that very compact?
Very cool looking. I actually have one in my gym
deadlift jack very lightweight and
Works great. I mean to me it's like kind of the standard for a single deadlift jacket
It's that good and then they have like the some really high-end home gym stuff
So it'd be like there is that their landmine
They have a landmine option. What else do they have Tanner the series of attachments? Yeah
I mean they make they make several different
Home gym focus products. Yeah, you can check out their website clever built comm and I mean they're all they're all high-end pieces
Very like no detail is overlooked
Yeah, what do you have the single deadlift Jack right in your gym the red colored one? Yep. Yep
I have I think it's not got the double. I'm pretty sure yeah. Yeah, you got the double. Yeah, the double is awesome
That's like the yeah the genus I'm looking here the Genesis Jack Pro and
What's that thing weigh like maybe four pounds? It's so light. It's
Must be aircraft great
But yeah, then they have yeah, they have just a series of different loading pins
you know pull down attachments barbell holders things like that and
Like I said all really high-end really high quality stuff and they released a video
Kind of just
Outlining their frustrations with rogue. I guess I need to back this up again. So clever being a small manufacturer
It sounded like they had had you know issues that small manufacturers have just
Handling volume getting things out on time and just keeping up with demand
I can't remember if they said they were looking for a partner or someone had approached them,
but just recently, Rep has been teaming up
with more and more people,
and so Rep had teamed up with them
to release their Atlas Multi-Grip
slash Landmine cable attachment,
also a version of the Genesis Jack,
and a couple other, a couple other,
I can't
remember all the names all their products but rogue had
partnered up with them to do like three or three or four
of their products to put that sorry rep had teamed up with
them to give them that mass manufacturing that rep seems to
have down and then you know typically with that comes you
know the overseas manufacturing they can bring the price down
a little bit too with those economy of economies of scale and foreign
manufacturing. And so it's a win. Clevver is making more
money because they're moving more product. Their products are
more affordable for most people. You know, you can get them
quicker. Seems like it's a win win win. Everyone's happy until
the Clevvers came out with a little video describing their frustrations with rogue you say rogue
Where does rogue come into this? Well, apparently rogue had I think a couple years ago
Again, the videos out there. I'm definitely gonna miss some minor details up here You can go watch the video for yourself
But rogue had approached them a few years ago about wanting to do what they ended up
actually doing with Rep.
So Rogue wanted to, had talked to them about saying,
hey, what can we do to manufacture this for you?
And I believe they even went as far as like saying,
send us over your CAD files so we can
do whatever with them, I guess, I don't know.
And apparently there was some frustrations with Rogue's turnaround times and like ghosting them disappearing
Nothing seemed to have come of the initial talks
It seemed like it was dead in the water and then eventually, you know as time goes on the Clevver's end up
Touching base with rep hitting it off rep does this thing?
The rep product comes out and what happens a week later?
The rogue you could say the rogue clone comes out and that's where the frustration
Bubbles up finally comes through comes to the surface and why the Clevus made that video because
Their product once it exists with rep then all of a sudden hey, the rogue version that seemed dead in the water,
now miraculously exists a week or two later.
Did I cover the high points there, Tanner?
I think so, and then that video comes out
and what I would spin from it next is, you know,
the hardcore home gym community
rallies behind a cause like this, I would say,
and then you look in the home gym Facebook group
and that sort of thing,
and people are going wild on comments about it.
So I haven't been in the home gym community very long.
I'm only, you know, my home gym one year anniversary
is, I mean, any day now.
So I've only-
You've gone really hard for a year.
I've gone hard for a year, yes.
But I haven't been very, it's been hard, but not long,
you know, and so. Right, right.
If there's one thing I've learned in my short time, it's that the home gym community loves to hate on rogue
Like it's it's like it's almost like cool to hate rogue, which I find very funny
That yeah, I mean though this giant faceless company but it's like cool to like yeah, they're the bad guy
Yeah, let's get them like do the whole pitchfork thing
And I guess before we get too far into that
Is there anything else we need to say about?
No, I mean, I think the products do look pretty similar like when you yeah
It's like yeah looks it looks very similar. Yeah, and we don't know, you know, I think outside of the cleavage
You know, everyone else is kind of on the outside looking in we don't know the specifics of it
Yeah, it does seem like a bad look on rogue. I would give them that like it's not
It doesn't seem like that's the best thing
Before it's like before you go like yeah, I hate rogue
let's let's boycott them forever and not that rogue needs anyone to defend them or stick up for them, but I
Mean it's like a multi-grit bar with a landmine in it, which also don't like
five other companies make a product like that too.
It's more probably to me, the timing is a little more
suspect than anything.
It's sus.
It is sus.
You know, it is sus.
Yeah, I think a lot of people have products like this,
similar products. I thought I saw a post post I don't keep up with rogue's inventory super close that rogue essentially has had this exact same product for a while
They just haven't had the landmine option in it
So they essentially just took you know, one of their neutral grip pull down attachments and added the
Landmine option which again if that was the case and it's like yeah, not that big of a deal timing again little weird
but
Yeah, that's what people are up in arms about here
Here's what I would say if I put myself in the clever shoes
And I made this product that I put a lot of time and effort into it and making it
Quality piece that looks cool that the aesthetic that people want that's affordable all this and I partner with someone else
you know get it to mass production all this stuff and
Rogue comes out with their very similar looking one a week later, whatever it is
I would be really pissed off like if I was, I would be really pissed off. I would be super annoyed if I was them.
I would be really pissed off.
I would also make that video that they made and said, like, 100%
a like this is also because it's really all they can do.
And the reason I say I think it's all they can do because I don't think as far
as intellectual property or anything goes, there's nothing of significant,
you know, there's not maybe I'm incorrect and uninformed, but just to the naked eye, I'm like of significant, you know, there's not, maybe I'm incorrect and
uninformed, but just to the naked eye, I'm like, what are you patenting there?
I know that's, that's what's hard with all this is there's always people that think
they're lawyer experts in these groups that all sue so and so. And it's like, um, I mean,
first of all, there's gotta be a lot of things in place to even get to that point. And then
it's also when it comes to lawsuits, you know, who's really good at lawsuits
The really big companies with a ton of the one with the most money is who's really lawsuits, right?
So, you know the so they're doing what they can and you know, hopefully like educating people like hey buy ours
And don't buy rogue. Yeah
That's what I would say if I was them and that's would be my
defending them in their case because I would honestly just do the exact same thing because 100% pissed off. Yeah, I I
And like yeah, who's team my I'm 100% on the Clevis team. Like I like there are some people
I want to see them succeed like rogue has enough other things going on. I don't care but
the that that also being said like
But that also being said, like.
I guess I don't even know how to what to what to say about it, other than I'm like, yeah, I mean, a rogue gonna rogue
is what I would say.
Like at the end of the day, a rogue is going to rogue their way around
whatever they want to. And they they are the giant gorilla in the room
and get to almost relatively speaking, do whatever the hell they want to and they are the giant gorilla in the room and get to almost relatively speaking,
do whatever the hell they want.
And here's what else, what else I would say about it.
You know, oh, I don't, pick a number,
whether it's 500 hardcore home gym people or a thousand,
or maybe it's 5,000, maybe it's even 10,000
that are like, yeah, clever, like we will rally behind you
and we're not gonna support Rogue because of this and we're only gonna support you
You know what rogue probably really cares about that
Almost nothing at all. Yeah, cuz you know like you know what how much like 5,000 customers
I mean, I'm not saying it's of no significance whatsoever
But relatively speaking most the people from buying from rogue
whatsoever, but relatively speaking most the people from buying from rogue
Aren't hardcore home. Jim. No, no concept of they're not like sitting in the reddit and the Facebook group every day Like a lot of us are and like they don't give a shit
No, not like that most of their customers couldn't care less if a similar product exists somewhere else
They just don't care and they're never going to and they don't even know these communities like exist out there
They're like I kind of like to do CrossFit and be kind of nice to do sort
of some of that at home in my gym with my.
Even like a lot of people that are in like that home gym Facebook group,
a vast majority of them wouldn't even give a shit.
They would say, like, I don't care.
I'll just buy which one's cheaper and or better or like, man, I broke.
I buy from Rogan. They just do a good job. Yeah, you know, they don't care
Yeah, and I did find here the rogue product is the rogue CG one cable and landmine attachment. I have found it here
Yeah
And it's similar but then also for that matter
I don't know if you know this but like stray dog has one that's really similar to right like you said
there's probably multiple several I mean all I all you got to do is Google multi-grip landmine and and you'll see
Stray Dog multi-grip cable slash landmine.
And you know what it looks like?
A lot like the rogue one.
No, I'm not trying to like throw Stray Dog under the bus or anything.
I'm just saying like it's a neutral grip bar
that you can attach to something and has landmine capabilities like.
Yeah, again, I'm for the clevis here. that you can attach to something and has landmine capabilities like Yeah again
I'm for the clevis here. There's a hundred percent like yeah, it's a bad look for rogue, but I just I
do like to I
Don't have any problem with rogue
But I do like to order things from the other company the longer I go along, the more I like to order from the other companies,
just because I understand the significance
of actually supporting some of the smaller people
that are making stuff, and I'm like,
ah, it just means more to me to be able to support them
than supporting Rogue, so I don't.
And same thing for us, we know every order
actually makes a difference, it matters.
Right, exactly.
You know, Rogue, it's just, I mean, I don't know.
Do they do hundreds of millions, if not a billion dollars in sales a year? So if I was ordering mean, I don't know do they do they do hundreds of millions
If not a billion dollars in sales a year like so if I was ordering this I would order the order the clever one
Oh 100% yes without a doubt
But to your point of people do love to shit on rogue
Okay, and I'm like this is what I think some people need a little like cuz it's so
Like they're they're an easy punching bag because they're so big,
like it's so easy to hit a rope.
Right, because it's a victimless crack.
Like if you're Reagan on pick a come Darko who were, you know, we're also the Clevins
even for that matter.
Yeah, it's like you're like, it's you're picking on a real person.
It's almost like you're starting a war with the person that like you're going to cross
paths with all the time.
And like you're in the same
Comments of everything all the time right with rogue. It's like there's there's not
Bill isn't there like he's not like they're defending himself in the comment section or Peter Keller
You know it's like fringe. He's gonna be there in the comments like defending himself like rogue is not gonna
And it's a close thing you get I don't have to yeah to this this faceless thing of right ever but like defending himself, like Rogue is not gonna be commenting
on any of this stuff.
I mean, it's the closest thing you get.
I don't have to.
Yeah, to just this faceless thing of whatever,
but as popular as it can be to hate on Rogue,
I still, I think a lot of people like to forget,
especially in the home gym space,
how much Rogue does for the actual sport side of things.
And if you need a reminder of that, go to the Arnold.
Like, the amount of money they're dumping into the strongman and the Olympic lifting and the power lifting and all that.
And yeah, maybe like some of the power lifting means maybe they're not really doing much from a money standpoint, but their equipment is all over everything.
And it is competition grade and it's incredible.
And like the strongman, they don't have to put that much money into it I mean no one no one put any that no equipment manufacturers putting
As far as I know any money or if they were very little money into that for years and years and years
I mean decades even and say like Cerberus, but they're not really like I don't a little different though
like it's like making sandbags and right it's not like they don't have the manufacturing capabilities at the end of the day that rogue does and
Rogue has those manufacturing capabilities. They don't have to do the things that they're doing and then also like look at the crazy. I
mean media documentary film all that stuff that they've done for the different
Sports at the end of the day like from an athletic competitor standpoint
You might want to hate it
You might hate it, but they do kind of the coolest stuff
when it comes to the actual sport side of things.
And that's why Rogue, for us, a lot of times
does come to mind first because here at Massanomics,
it might be hard to believe, but like we are at the end
of the day powerlifting strong man, you know,
fans, competitors, enthusiasts.
Yeah, we've competed in it, all, you know,
our people around us compete in it, we host those events, we've competed in it. Our people around us compete in it.
We host those events.
We watch the large events.
Our thing has always, at the end of the day,
been about going to the gym and getting strong.
That's always been our guiding north star.
And it's like, yeah, equipment, this stuff, that's all cool.
But strength has always kind of been.
I mean, that was the whole thing that got us started,
was strength.
It was just strength.
That was it.
It's like, crappy bars, we don't care.
Crappy gym, you know, the first Mastodonomics gym
was damn near a 20 by 20 room with the most garbage.
And we thought it was the best thing ever.
But it was like, oh, people in there
that wanna like all get strong.
It was the best thing ever.
It was the same kind of stuff.
It was just strength.
Oh, it's just us and we all wanna squat in there.
The place sucks, the equipment sucks.
And we thought it was like the best thing
that had ever existed.
Like my little rack with just what I have in my home gym
would, I mean, blow away anything that was in that gym.
Like it was just like what I have is so crazy.
And we had like 15 guys going there
and like as far as we were concerned,
it was like we had won the lottery
and this was the best thing ever.
That is what it was like.
Oh, it was like every day it was just like pure adrenaline.
Same time with each other and lift like that. Like, oh it was like. Oh, it was like every day, it was just like pure adrenaline at the same time.
We go shopping at the same time with each other
and lift like that, like, oh my God, we've made it.
It's because at the end of the day,
like our whole thing has always been about just like,
no, like we like the lifting part of it.
And Rogue does a really good job of like marketing
and selling the lifting part of it.
And a lot of people like to hate on that,
but at the end of the day,
I mean, I recognize that and I can align with them on that and that's why I have a hard time just
hating taking pot shots on rogue and we've done our first year of complaining about rogue over the years on this show too, but
I mean, there's certain things like that that just always keep them relevant to me
there is I mean we were talking about this with Jujie
about something just completely unrelated to this,
but I mentioned this a couple times and,
you know, a lot of people often agree there,
no matter what, there is always two sides to everything too.
You know, like there is always,
it's always relevant that there is always two sides
to every discussion.
There is, and I guess another one in the clevis favor here.
We've talked with a lot of people over the years,
a lot of people from all different aspects in the industry
and their story describing of like,
you pitch something to Rogue and then you're like
on the back burner and you don't hear from them ever again.
We've heard that story from multiple people multiple times.
And it's like, someone even told us like,
yeah, you pitch an idea to Rogue and you just wait.
Like it might be five years, it might be never,
but like this individual told us they've had it both ways.
They've had it where they've just never heard anything
and they've also had it where they just,
it was like, cool, yep, sounds good.
And then just crickets, crickets for five years.
And then all of a sudden one day out of
the blue they say let's do this and
Their takeaway was kind of like when you work with rogue you're working on their terms and not saying that's right or wrong
But that sounds like that is
That's how they operate. Yeah
Anything else about the
Rogue controversy
Rogue clever rep controversy that all there again, I would just say like if I was buying that product,
I would definitely buy the clever one.
Yes, I like I would like there's and that would be my
recognition to someone listening if they're interested in
that, you know, do support them in this case.
I you know it's but on the flip side of the coin,
I would say I don't know. Rogue's not the devil either, you know, like right I you know, it's but on the flip side of the coin I would say I don't know rogues not the devil
Make a good product like they do
Yeah, it's
It's it's complicated. I hope that I can't I can't imagine
That this is affecting the cleverva business that much, right?
Like, is there just rogue people that are like, oh my god,
finally this product is out.
Finally, finally the rogue CG-1 cable and landmine attachment
is out and I don't have to get the Cleva one.
Yeah.
Maybe there's a couple people out there that think that.
I can't imagine there's a ton that are like jacked for that.
But yeah, it's, I guess it is another competitor on the market.
But at the end of the day, the Clevis do have a very cool, very unique product.
Wish them all the best. I hope it goes great for them.
Both the products we have from them, the Genesis Jack and the double,
as far as I'm concerned, best in class, amazing products.
You know, you know.
Speaking of best in class, amazing products are certified training facility flags are also restocked products. Yep, yep. Speaking of best in class amazing products,
our certified training facility flags
were also restocked here this week too.
So you could get your chances here again,
it's the fourth round of these where you could get,
we were out of stock again for a while,
you could get on the map,
our certified training facility map,
what is it's massonics.com slash certified.
Certified, go look at the map if you've never looked at it, the certified training facility gym's on there, What is it's mass.com slash certified certified
Go look at the map if you've never looked at it the certified training facility gyms on there It's actually wild prepare to have your mind blown
Yeah
with a
geographic area that that now covers and the density and some of the areas of certified training facilities and if you're a
Mass. I'm supporting member you're traveling at all and you're looking for a place to be able to train
Supporting member you're traveling at all and you're looking for a place to be able to train
Actually use the map everyone if there's a part on there that says if people are open to visitors or not and a lot of them Have photos and some some even videos of their gym. You might get a taste of what the gyms like and
Whether you want to hang out with another?
Supporting member and go train in their facility when you're on the road see if it works out or not
Do sign up and become a certified training facility.
We use the map also, like when we're making trips.
We use the map, we actually do it.
We were just using it this week
in reference to our Ohio gym tour tour coming up.
We have talked about that, right?
I actually don't know if we've talked about it
on the show yet.
Have we talked about it on the show or not?
I don't think we have
Maybe we have we've maybe mentioned that we had a trip coming up
But I don't think we've because we didn't really have anything solid until a couple days ago. Okay. Well breaking news
We are having an Ohio gym tour tour
in May of
This year that will be our next big Mastodonics trip, right?
There's no other big trips prior to that.
I don't believe.
God, no.
Yeah.
It's too many.
So it'll be the beginning of May.
We're already working on lining up trips,
looking up our, working on our itinerary.
We already know, I mean, we've gone through the list.
We're not going to be able to get to all of them
we want to be able to get to Ohio is a relatively large state and we're plotting our course and
It's large when you're basically looping around the entire thing
That's that's part of our problem too is because of the various people were almost going through the whole
We have opportunity at least to go to like every corner of the state
I just that's the thing like I don't know that that'll actually be able to happen
Also when we're getting some a couple Indiana stops
Ohio wasn't enough so we're adding another state into it and
You and we're gonna be on table talk again, just so everyone knows that's kind of the part of the trip here, too
We're also going to be you're saying wait two states many many home gyms table talk you going there for a week
No, we're going there for about two and a half days
We just aren't gonna be sleeping much over there
So that's coming up in may be be on the lookout for more
More updates on that as we get a little closer. So I guess you could say we're in table talk prep right now in May be be on the lookout for more.
More updates on that as we get a little closer. So I guess you could say we're in table talk prep right now.
We are in table talk prep.
I think this all this our whole lives have been
table talk prep, honestly, if you think about it.
What was the garage gym reviews horse stall map?
But did you watch it?
Dude, this video? I think there's like horse horse stall mats are did you watch it dude this video?
I think there's like horse horse stall mats are just in the zeitgeist now aren't I'm telling you I felt like
Coop was trolling us when he made this video because I for one could not make if we release this video people be like
I mean are you guys actually doing this right now like oh, it would be a joke
If we literally said the exact thing same thing as the same everyone would it would just be a giant joke
There were so many times where I was waiting for me because we are making that joke all the time guys
This is I gotcha. I gotcha like more horse all that content like you fell for it, but no it was a real true honest video
there were several things in it that were just wacky to me and I mean from the topic the topic already is wacky because
the joke is that there's just way too much horse tall mat content already and
I mean people would call it a joke if we did this coop can get away with it good for him
The first thing that I had to rewind it because it just so caught me off guard is he was talking about the mats not being straight
Are did you catch that one?
What was it? He talked
about I think he was saying how when you go to horse or when you go to the horse supply
he said ask him a lot of times they have like like B tier like B tier maths he's like you
know they're not perfectly straight they put it infographic on the screen and it was a
chart that says it starts with heterosexual and it goes to homosexual
and the mat is hovering over heterosexual and then the mat goes all the
way over to homosexual and I could not believe that their channel would
actually do something like that. I didn't see that actually. It seemed
weird. It just seemed like a mat like was work working through this try and
it and then I had to pause
Cuz after it passed like did that is it was a not homosexual on it
I was so confused and I went back and I'm like that is the craze the weirdest infogroup like graphic
They could use to do that. So that was very bizarre already and then
Just the way it kept going
It's like a 12 minute video about horse stall mats.
But what did I text?
I can't.
There was the home gym nerd comment.
Yeah, he made a home gym nerd comment,
which we've discussed many times on this show.
And then the other one that was, oh, really funny,
goes, I learned this trick from Eric Carpenter, Carp's Gym.
And they put some other, I learned this trick from Eric Carpenter, Carp's Gym,
and they put some other Eric Carpenter that lifts his picture on the video that has nothing to,
the guy probably has no clue what the garage gym reviews is.
You know, it's like, why am I appearing in this video?
So that was really funny too.
Coach Carp missed out on having a screenshot
of his Instagram
appear. That's funny. And okay, do people actually you've
moved way more horse stall mats than I have in my day Tanner.
I moved a few but people actually do the thing where they
ratchet strap them in a loop and carry them. I mean, that takes
forever, right?
No, no, people do not do that. That I've never seen someone do
that. I thought for sure that was gonna be the one. I mean, that takes forever, right? No, no, people do not do that. That I've never seen somebody I thought for sure that was going to be the one.
I mean, maybe if you had to carry it a mile, I guess I would do it like you just drive.
Usually you drag it out of the back is kind of a far carry.
And even that's like I would never if you said no.
And then sometimes I'll roll it up and I'll just hold it rolled.
Like I don't need to wrap a strap around it.
I just going down a flight of stairs through several doors, right?
To be fair. I'm probably considerably bigger and stronger than coupe is but I thought that was the one for sure
He's gonna be like no, I'm just kidding. This is enormous waste of time. Don't do this
All right, but no he was he was committed to the bid on that one. I mean if you were not of
Like I mean most of people I see doing it are big strong people
And you can kind of but still
It's just such an annoyance to take a mat
I but I'm just like a legitimately weak person and you're like, maybe you can't even hold it
Like you just have like that's the you know
If you were is that this is it are they that hard to hold for some people though?
Like I'm not I'm not even claiming to be that strong of a person
No, what I mean like someone that's just like doesn't even barely like if you're okay. It's your first home gym
You maybe you can't even deadlift 225 right you never exercised in your life like right away 110 pounds
That's big like somebody that hey you get to this hundred--pound mat You're like how am I going to move this?
You know you're like I don't even know how I but also wrestling it enough to get a strap
You know also ratchet straps are a pain in the ass sometimes
No, I know like I I would be surprised if you had the average person a ratchet strap and said do this
That they would actually figure out how to do it. I
Don't think that many people know how to use those things just one also when you're wrestling a hundred pound math
That's trying to unroll the whole time like it's not to me the idea of like trying to roll it up seems way more annoying
then just
Pulling it where you gotta pull it. Yeah, I
Would think most the time. Yeah, I've never done the ratchet strap thing
I have rolled it but then I just hold it roll, you know, I just I've went
I've always I guess in your garage
You know true to the channel name in your garage
You just get that vehicle backed up close open the garage door and rip her on in yeah, yeah
Yeah, so maybe at some point you'll see a little horse stall Matt content from us also
Yeah, we can't I can't let them have the only horse stall matte content coming out
If it and even that day like I probably put I think the day even prior to that publishing I posted like two or three
horse all that means
Speaking of
Instagram comment a couple of things
That I was thinking about eight just I've been really enjoying the horse doll mat memes.
I'll say that.
If you haven't been able to pick up on that,
well you should be able to pick up on that.
And then B, a couple of things that went off
slightly more popular than normal
comment wise that I was noticing.
One is one I posted today, which is a Venn diagram
of the good squat, good bench, good deadlift.
And then the number of people that like,
this has gone popular enough that it's way outside
of our normal viewing audience.
The number of people that rush into the comments seriously
and having to defend themselves of like,
being like, I'm actually good at all three.
Oh, really? Yeah. It's like if you're good at all three, if you're good at all three. Oh really? Yeah.
It's like if you're good at all three,
if you're good at all three and you have to say
in the comments, you're probably not actually good
at all three.
That's kind of my point.
You know the funny comments are the people that are like,
I thought like what do I do when I'm not good at any of them?
That's what I thought was funny.
How many comments were like, what about bad at all three?
I'm like, you know what?
That's funny.
If you're leaving that comment,
you're probably stronger than what I even think you are. That's what I think. And it's the people that are like, what about bad at all three? I'm like, you know what? That's funny. If you're leaving that comment, you're probably stronger than what I even think you are.
That's what I think.
And it's the people that are like,
well, I'm actually good at all of them.
What about me?
You know, like I'm not defending themselves.
I'm like, what, are you good at any of them?
I'm guessing.
You know, there's not really strong people
making those comments on random posts on the internet.
No, because I don't even know,
I don't know,
if someone can bench 400 and squat 600
and let's say deadlift 600, do you go,
well I'm good at all of them?
Like, well, well, well, well, how much do you weigh?
Like, where's the line here, you know?
So it's. Yeah.
Then the other one was when I had posted
all of our videos and stuff from our trip
with Jujie Mufu on Instagram.
A lot of those got a decent number of views.
The one that continues to grow though
is the one of me missing the Tsunami Bar Bench Press.
That's still getting some traction.
That one has like 400,000 views right now.
Really?
Or 360,000.
It's like Boogs told us, people love to see you fail.
That's what I noticed, what I was gonna say about it the
Cuz the the thing is like why did I fail and I said the Sun was in my eyes and no horse tall mats for
Grip under my feet. Uh-huh, but then I've noticed even just the last couple days
Like the people being like oh you're weak
All these things of and I don't I honestly like none of them upset me.
I'm not because it's so running here to upset it.
Like you could almost guarantee none of those people have touched a tsunami bar
in their life, let alone like a scripted the comments.
I'm like, I have to believe none of the people calling me out for my deficiencies
are very strong people because they're again, when you're strong,
you're not going running to the
Comments of Instagram to like a rag on other people. I mean anyone don't know I would just if anyone's doing more than 300 pounds I
Mean, I'm kind of patty my numbers here
But I mean anyone if they're doing over 300 pounds reverse grip mention on a tsunami bar
I'm like no you get a pass like it doesn't matter. Yeah, this is what you do. You just
You've handled it. Oh and and the people calling it out as a,
that don't know, have no idea what a tsunami bar is
or anything like that, and saying it's a fake bar
and fake plates, like, that don't even understand
what is going on here.
Right, yeah, I have no idea what's happening.
A lot of those comments and that sort of thing.
And then, like, the injury thing, but I just,
it made me think I'm like, oh, this is what like
Mark Rosenberg, Deadliest Lift, this is what his
comment section's like all the time.
Of people like.
Right, yeah, a guy that can deadlift 900 pounds.
Right, and it's just constantly people telling him
he's wrong and he's gonna break his back,
you know, this stuff like that. It's weird. So it's
And granted it's not me getting called out in the video, but also
You know, I don't feel personally no because there's a thing online where you know when people leave comments about stuff
They don't even they're at the point where they don't even think of people as people anymore
It's just that's what you're a piece of content. It's just this is a piece of content online and I'm leaving comments
I'm really getting to the point where when I see like dumb comments, I just think like
You're not even a person. You're just it's just a dumb piece of content that I'm also consuming here
Like it's not even a real thing anymore flip side, right? Yeah
Yeah, exactly how many people all right, I'll bite or whatever.
Yeah, yeah.
So I'll be that guy.
It's like, oh good.
I'm glad you're that guy.
Tell me how someone came to rescue.
Tsunami grip reverse bench.
Yes.
Well, you have definitely never done it before.
What is LBS?
Okay, Tanner. What is LBS okay dinner when you uh
Load up any weights any dumbbells anything
Perhaps that perhaps that weight plate is a 45
typically after the
45 I
Shouldn't say typically but occasionally after the 45. There'll be a little abbreviation
So, you know the units that you're lifting in what is that abbreviation?
Like what is it on plates? Yeah, like what's if you're lifting? What are the two what are the two units you're lifting in?
pounds or kilograms so
Would be the one or pounds yeah yeah what's the
abbreviation for pound definitely LBS yeah I mean I recognized LBS as yep when
I when I saw you put LBS I mean in my head I say pounds yep you know I don't
say LBS is like what you know in my I just read that as pounds what are any
of those letters LBS what's what what's one of those letters are in the word pounds?
The only thing you'd have there is the s is at the end for plural like more than one
Where the hell is that Ellen be coming from I?
Have no idea have you ever thought I'll just try to think I don't know if I ever if I ever have it's not recent
Enough that I can recall ever thinking about it
I'm trying to think if I could even make a stab
at why it would be LBF.
It must be like a periodic table of elements thing
where it's like, oh, what's the sign for,
you know, cause a lot of them like oxygen,
oh, carbon, C, but then you get to potassium and it's K
Yeah, so it's like why the hell's pounds LBS they round up rat ran out of abbreviation so like no this one has to be
LDS could do
LBS, I don't know. It must be something really old. Is it Latin is it?
But I guess that's
English. So I don't know. It's the English. It's the English
measuring system. I have no idea why it would be LBS. I'll say
this. I was I was back at my parents house this past weekend
and they have that generic set of like one to eight pound
dumbbells that everyone has stashed in their house. Like the eight pound ones my boy likes to try and pick up and are they colored? Oh, yeah, of course the color
Okay. Yep. Okay
And he's like, so yeah, just don't drop him on your toes and he sets it down and it's just for the first time
I just see eight LBS and I'm like
LBS what the hell does it? It just never crossed my mind to think what does LBS and I'm like LBS what the hell does it just never cross my mind to think what does LBS mean?
You know what what is going on here? So everyone just knows that that's what I just know
I've never questioned it once in my life
So I did a little looking and this is this is I'm actually giving you the abbreviation from chat GPT the breakdown
Okay, so maybe this is an 100% right, it seemed to Mimic pretty closely what my Google searching did it says the abbreviation LBS for pounds comes from the Latin word
Oh, I said you did say Latin. Yep, which referred to a Roman unit of weight
The full term was Libra Pondo meaning a pound of weight
Here's the breakdown Libra is the origin of the LB abbreviation
Pondo is where we get the English word pound
Over time we kept pound as the spoken word and LB as the abbreviation
S is just in there to make it plural
Yeah, so there it is
Libra Pondo
That's what I'm gonna start putting on my plate
These are like hipster plates. I've definitely never heard that before I haven't either I looked at that
I probably have never thought about it. Yep. Never never ever cross my mind because I will say jokingly sometimes
I'll be like how many LB's oh, yeah, totally like how many LBs yeah, what's your LBs? Yep?
100% I feel like everyone has said that at some point right and then isn't is Libra. I mean the the
Image for Libra is a scale isn't it I?
Don't know yeah like is it like the constellation and all that stuff is a Libra constellation
I don't even know if they have pictures of stars here, but
Yeah, Libra zodiac sign. It is a scale
That's a Libra zodiac. I actually went to I wouldn't have known that
Yeah, I would not have known that but yeah, this says it right here Libra zodiac sign
I'm pretty into
What is that discipline where you care?
stars astrology What is that discipline where you care about? Stars. Astrology.
Astrology.
Yeah, I'm a big astrology guy.
I heard you asked a lot of people at the Arnold
what their sign was.
Yeah.
It was your icebreaker.
For a period in time, when I was working at the bank,
I used to look at the newspaper every day.
The actual, what it used to be.
Oh, did they put the horoscopes in there?
Yeah, the horoscopes were in there.
Occasionally I would look at the horoscope
I remember to know if you're gonna have a good day that day or not
I was just purely I just got into a thing where I'm like, this is a thing in the newspaper
I like I just had to read it just sometimes just to see what they even said
I remember like what when I found out that those are really published in the newspaper because it seems so stupid to me at the
Time that's what I'm like. What just you just post any random ass nonsense in here like
What's that called again horoscope horoscope
So stupid
Yeah, and then you read that like in the small top papers
Then you flip the page and it's the letter to the editor and you're like, you know what?
they do post any random else nonsense in here
Give me the family circus and the
not wordle, but the
Sudoku it's I always I always like it in my
When I go back home because of course my parents do get the newspaper for the local town
They do still have a small a small a week town publication yeah
weekly yep once a week yeah and what's always interesting is they'll always
have a for the town of like 3,500 people on this date ten years ago on this date
fifty years ago and a hundred years ago and so many of the ones from like fifty
to a hundred years ago are so and so's family from Minneapolis visited them
they made pie and had a good time like that was that was what was on
made the news 50 years ago and like somehow for some reason that was documented.
I liked what I liked about our local newspaper.
When they would in the sports section, they would do this date in history for sports.
And if I would I or one of the teams I was on or maybe even just older of
my, you know, people I played with and stuff. Yeah. I would pop up in there and I was like,
oh yeah, I remember that. It's like, oh, I totally remember that game.
Just living in the glory days. Yeah. Such a silly little local newspaper thing.
I had a little thing I wanted to mention just for the better of
society here. Oh the public service announcement. Yeah this is just this is
a PSA. I want to talk about group text etiquette and what I'm not talking about
is you and your buddies that have this or you and your close not talking about
you and your close family that have a group. Tell the, the, I'm not talking about your buddies.
That's titled the meat jerking beef boys.
Not that one, not that one.
Okay.
That one, anything goes and that's obvious.
It is you and your close family.
Anything goes there.
That's obvious.
What I'm talking about is when, for example, just I'll pull a random example here.
Your kids sports team and it's all the parents you might only even really kind is when, for example, just I'll pull a random example here.
Your kids' sports team and it's all the parents, you might only even really kind of know half of them.
You have three numbers out of the 14 in the group
you have on your phone.
And then the people you, maybe three more,
you kind of would recognize the other one.
You don't even really know who they are.
But there is a group text thread out of necessity
for scheduling and stuff like that.
Already my brain's going,
this thread is for emergency purposes only.
That's what my brain's doing right now.
It's saying stay away from there.
Sane people understand not to contribute to that
unless you have something.
It's like an email chain in an office.
You do not want to be contributing to this in any way
Same people know that then obviously right cuz you know that I would say people that have been socialized to society know that yes Yeah, yes people that we live in a society
Yeah, you have been partaking in society you would know these things. Yeah, don't send like
Ha ha ha
No, no, no small chat and pleasantries are out. This is purely transactional
Yeah, yeah, and you don't send like an inside joke or like no reference that most people aren't have no idea
Oh, who's old?
58 72 we got a real jokester on our hands here. Yeah, you don't want to be that guy
Also, if if at all possible, I understand that mistakes happen. You really try
Not to accidentally send text to that group that were not intended for that that were like intended
Okay, if you actually said a text to that group man, you are you are doing something
You accidentally sent a text to that group man you are you are doing something
Because I gotta say I was it we were my wife and I were in one here And we were like yelling each other from across south like oh
Did you see this one like you got to check the latest in the group text thread of what what the people are saying now?
Like you just believe yes
And like even having to text other people
that we do know that are in it,
and be like, oh my God, are you seeing this?
And don't do that.
Like do what Tommy was saying.
It's just out of necessity when it's a group text,
when you don't know most of the people in it,
it is for like just informational.
It's like not your buddies, not your friends,
not your family, or at least a decent number
of the people in there are not that.
Yes, yes.
Use that accordingly.
This isn't the road to recruit those people
to be in your buddies.
You can do that in person or in a different thread.
At one point I was like, Mary, how the heck do I
get out of this? And can they and I was
also like, how can they see?
Does it say like doesn't it?
I was like, does it say that I left the
threat, the whatever?
And because I'm like, and she's like, oh,
you can just mute it or, you know,
something. And I'm like, OK, I'd want I
actually just want to be out of it.
But I can't have it all, though,
because then I'm like, I can't do it, but mm-hmm. I can't have it all though because then I'm like
I can't do it if it's gonna say ten I left the group like you know everyone's you guys that last deck I
Wish all of you the best of luck in your life. You know what you did, and then it says Tanner left
Good luck in all your future endeavors do not add me to any more chats
I will go without knowing the facts. I need to know just to not have to
endure the ride forever.
It means not talking to you people.
Have you ever experienced that at all?
Or you certainly will.
And so if you're listening, if you have it like if you have kids, especially you
will because there's, I can count it the most.
It's like, yeah, kids, you you know bigger kids activities where they're kind of like on the road and like there's all the sharing of information
Yeah, I can definitely see how that come up
I would say for the most part just the groups that I'm in are still mostly like just you know guys
That are on the same page. So it's just like our buddies occasionally like the group will get a I mean also for that matter though
Once a group text is over like eight people
It's too many people in there because then you have someone that you don't want to get that many messages
Yeah, like it's like an Android phone and they're like not getting the messages correctly and then like they don't get photos
And it's always this cluster of
People and then someone's like hey the messages for this didn't come through or like there's always a thing like text
Isn't the the spot for that stuff?
That's the PSA
Also just don't even start group text messages most the time
Right. Oh, you're really sure that there's you really sure that there's a use for this what you do

Yes, yes, just put up a flyer at the millstone the millstone starting a rave
Just let everyone needs to know is the beats per minute
You put up the flyer the guy put up the flyer and I'm telling you people will show up They didn't have to talk about how many what are the precise beats per minute?
They just saw it they knew the details and are they?
No less than 140 beats per minute, okay, that's what I that speaks to those people they will show up
And if it wasn't for them, well, that's good. He filtered out the ones if they're like, well, no
I really only like it if it's 160
This isn't the rave for you. Yeah, it's a little on the fence now, but yeah, you know what you're getting yourself into

Standard when it comes to power lifting meets and the deadlift bars that are used at them
You can check these all out at Texas power bars calm no code is needed
They're just add it in your cart and click buy. Thank you, Texas power bars
all the fun Texas power bar thing I've been doing lately is
10 deadlift of just trying to see how much I can do that's on that
So a couple people asked me what bar that is
So that's on a old school 28 and a half millimeter Texas power just the og dude. I watched you do that
Okay, so I was probably
Chirping so you couldn't hear Tanner. What did you do? What what actually did you do or your sets the other day?
What did you do? What what actually did you do or your sets the other day? What did you do? Uh a set of ten I did sets of ten at four fifteen, but I only do one set double overhand
Okay, so Tanner did a set of ten four fifteen double overhand deadlift. No straps
No, nothing on an original Texas power bar. Yeah, and you got through all ten with just double overhand, right?
Yeah, the tenth one was the like my lockout was really quick on the 10th one
because it was really having a hard time locking it
on the 10th one.
I'm not sure I could, I don't think I could get one.
I'm pretty confident I could not do one of that.
That's why I saw that and I'm like,
as far as I've seen tanners do stuff,
that's one of the more impressive things
I've seen you do in a while.
And probably because it's like, it's just so hard for me that
Also, just really obscure to know what it's really clear to like yeah
I've been more normalized to people benching 500 pounds and stuff like that, but it's just a really weird
That's really hard to do though double overhand that long for a whole set
I like I know I usually try to do double overhand as long as I can and for me
It's around that like 365 to 385 is where I can feel like I have to start rushing my lockout because I start getting
Afraid that I'm gonna drop it and you know, that's like I'm talking like singles and doubles at that point
Right. I said a ten at 405 is wild
Yeah, wild. Yeah. For 415.
Yeah, so the reason I've been doing that
is just because of my ACL recovery,
I started deadlifting almost nothing,
like just a plate and just been slowly working up.
So at first I'm like, well, I don't need straps
to deadlift 135 pounds.
Then I just kept going and I'm at a certain point
in the 300s, I'm like, well, now I just have to see
how long I can just hold this.
Because I was doing it for every set
and then eventually somewhere at like 365,
I'm like, yeah, I'm just gonna do this for the first set
and then I'm gonna wear straps after that
because it's getting, just my hands are hurting
from it in a way that I don't even like.
So then I've just been doing my first set every time
and a couple weeks ago at 405
Yeah, felt harder than 415 felt this week because I was like I'm gonna really I really want to lock in like I'm actually
Those things that it can be really easy to yeah, you know
It is that good gauge of like how energized you are because you're tired grip grip goes in a hurry
Yeah, so next week
I'm gonna try 425 and see if I can get that first set of 10
I actually thought 415 is where I wouldn't be able to do it
So I don't know if 425 will or not, but I'm gonna just try really hard
What do you see if I can do what do you think you could do for a double overhand single?
I don't know
It'll probably find out eventually because what I once I get done with tens here
I'm gonna drop down to I'm just gonna I'm just
Drop peeling some reps off. I'll probably do eights for a while and then like as my ACL is building up
I'm gonna keep lowering the reps scheme and increasing the weight just very
I mean you think so you could I think I've done over 500 before oh for double overhand you have yeah
Oh, okay. Well, what's also tricky is like I sometimes I've done it on a deadlift bar and that's right easier yet
So if I did a deadlift bar, I'm sure I can do over 500 Wow
But I'm only doing the Texas power but like that's another niche of the my
Ultra stupid and people are saying so for people that don't know most power bars are 29 millimeters
Yeah, the Texas power bar is 28 and a half which you do feel like you can notice it
But a Texas deadlift bar is 27 millimeters and all which is a part of that matter
Which you can definitely feel the difference between 29 and 27 when you're when you're on those and the 27 the smaller around is
a lot easier to hang on to
Yeah, and I don't know maybe as for sets of 10, maybe it's different. Maybe it wouldn't even matter
Maybe if I go to deadlift bar, it would be the same right when you're talking that many reps
Yeah, right. I don't even know if it would be I'm not I don't even actually know at this point or what if I did the 29
What you know if I had the 29 millimeter Texas power bar would I be able to do it for 10 still?
I'm not sure that you'd only be able to do five or something right that half one of the meter is just where the line is
Well and another difference is our our old 28 a half millimeter the nerling is not sharp on them like those bars
Hold on used. Yeah
Like our 29 has a lot sharper nerling would that make it easier? I don't know.
Maybe it would just make it harder.
Maybe it would make it hurt more.
So that's why I'm doing that though.
I'm not purely just like, oh, what can I get for a 10 rep?
It just kind of fits nicely into what I'm doing here.
I wish you were like last year at this time
where you were completely healthy.
I really want to know what your limit of double overhand is.
I probably will just, I mean,
it might be like months from now, but I will find out at some point in time. That's what I'm saying. I probably will just, I mean, it might be like months
from now, but I will find out at some point in time.
That's what I'm saying, I don't want to wait that long.
I want to know right now.
Right, yeah.
Let's see my, I'm not really interested in,
so I don't want to push the leg side of it.
Yes, yes, and I don't blame you one bit there.
Otherwise I would be doing it now just to see
because like it's not going to be a max out,
it's just going to be a grip max out.
It is. Maybe at some point in time I'll do it just for the
because of those reasons do you feel like really a max out it's just a grip
mix oh yeah do you feel like you're in comparison to overall strength is your
grip as good as it's been down up like where do you feel like that's at if you
had to get feel like I've been messing around with more things of it it's maybe
getting a little better okay because I've been messing around with more things of it. It's maybe getting a little better. Okay. Cause I've been really messing with that Thomas inch dumbbell.
Oh yeah.
Messing with the blobs more and more.
Cause I really want to get the half 90.
I, my grip must be getting a little better because I got so I can get the half 80
all the time and I've never done the half 90, but like this last week for the
first time I'm like, Oh, like every time when I tried the half 90 in the past I'm like, oh, there's no way that's like
That's not even close to seeming like I'm gonna grab it and like this other day
I'm like, ah, I'm like moving it and it's like becoming, you know
The weight is coming like kind of off the ground and I'm like, ah, maybe I can
Actually get this at some point. So I maybe from just the dinking around with grip stuff
It is actually getting a little bit better.
Yeah, I can see that.
But then again, I don't know.
It's hard to say.
It's harder to measure than just like how much it is.
It is.
How much is your deadlift?
It is, because there's so many conditions of,
oh, was there chalk involved?
Was there not chalk involved?
Right.
Did you do a heavy workout before that?
Were you fresh when you did it? Right right and like the things I'm doing are
Like the deadlift thing is so I'm like how much can I do for ten reps?
on a
Texas power bar like it's so stupid
But I'm like, I don't even know where that like how I would compare that to anything in the past
Because I also think like that not of 10 on deadlift too.
It's just so many.
Right.
But my deadlift is where I'm like,
cause I was so focused about the grip,
I wasn't even really thinking about the set
and then I got done and I'm like,
oh, my knee must be getting better
like 415 for a set of 10.
Dude, I wasn't even thinking about the deadlift.
I was just thinking about my grip.
I was just smoking after 415 for a set of 10. Yeah. wasn't even thinking about the dead I was just thinking about my grip after 415 for a set of 10 I
I would I that would be hard for me and I was just thinking about my poor fingies
The old meat hooks not concerned about the lifting part. Yeah. Oh
I guess that's my training update. Yes. Well, that's I want to talk about the grip thing
What I want is for someone else to do like four twenty five for a set of ten on a bar bar that way
I'm like now. I really have to try it now. I'm like, yeah someone's set the bar higher that more
Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up though. Cuz when I saw the videos like this is actually one of the crazier things
Cuz it just feels like it's not even in the ballpark of possibility for me
Yeah, and I really don't have no reference point because nobody does it
Like that. I don't even know what well like I'm like maybe my heart is like everyone. No one's trying right dad, right?
I'm like maybe this is good or maybe it's terrible. Nobody would even really know
That's kind of the thing about grip. Nobody really knows.
There's so many obscure little things you can do.
I'm not that good at that grip thing.
I'll just do this other one.
I'm kind of okay.
I'll do the other one.
Yeah.
Then of other odd training things I was doing today,
I used the Black Widow Axle to do my bench with.
I saw that, I got kinda jealous watching that.
It started making me think like,
oh maybe I do need an axle.
I have no idea why I did that today.
Like I was just had close grip bench
and I was just like, I just wanna use that today.
Cause I've been sticking so by the book of my,
you know what I've been doing.
I'm just like, ah, this will be my,
one way to mix it up just a little.
This will be my spicing it up as I'm using an axle.
People like to do that fat grip benching though,
you know, like that is one thing.
People like getting a different bar in there for bench.
I couldn't say it felt markedly different on my shoulders
or anything like that, but maybe over a long term it would.
But it was fun to use something different.
That's what it's all about.
That's what it's all about.
Doing something a little bit different.
What was your training this week?
On Juggernaut AI.
Yes, did squats on,
or I've only done squats, I'm a little behind, so I'll do my last two workouts Thursday and Friday this week, but
squats was a top set of six at
395 I think
So almost 400 I was I really thought about going to 405 because it's like that one
I'm like 395 but I was feeling very tired
Going into it. I had been gone over the weekend and so I hadn't been sleeping in my bed and things like that one. I'm like, ah 395, but I was feeling very tired Going into it. I had been gone over the weekend. And so I hadn't been sleeping in my bed and things like that. So like yeah
I'll take it easy and
Take it easy. So I did three and I felt great and all my all my sets after that actually my drop-down sets
All felt great, too. Yeah, I think last week. I don't know if it was like
I'd tell you this after being that Jugees
The lesson I took away was boogs is and all the guys is like no
There's a time where you just need to ha you just need to horse cock the way it's like dude. I agree
There's a time for good fans kind of a look and all that that I've thinking about too and overthinking it
But at a certain point, yeah
You just need the reminder and the reality check that now you just got a horse cock these weights
like it's you just you just got to show up and just whip them around like you're the boss and
Have that attitude and that's just how it needs to be sometimes and that's what?
Massanomics gym was for the first five years. It's just a bunch of guys that
Can have you know nearly nothing about programming and knew just goddamn Horse cocking heavy loads.
Nearly nothing about programming
and they were just horse cocking it every day
and getting a lot stronger all the time from it.
Got pretty damn strong considering the programming
and the methods we were doing at the time
and really having no like real expert of like,
this is what you need to like,
there wasn't a guy with a 2000 pound total being like,
well, this is how you do it.
It was just like, well, we're just kind of winging it
and just dudes horse cocking heavy loads.
Guys were getting thick and guys were getting strong
and it was fun.
And yeah, you need sometimes just need that refresher
to see guys doing that and be like, yes,
that is what it's all about.
That is what makes us fun.
And so I had that feeling for all of my lifting last week
and it felt great.
And just trying to carry the horsecock mentality
through these training sessions as the weeks go on now.
That's what I've been thinking about too.
I agree.
I don't know.
Was that hard?
Or is it just like, that's kind of the number I'm used to.
Because if I really think about it, maybe it's not that hard.
And I'm not saying I'm geeking out, cranking music to 1,000
and taking as much pre-workout as I can and going crazy.
I'm getting a little more hyped up than normal.
But then I think about it, I'm like, yeah, maybe I just
haven't been hyped up enough lately, too.
That's kind of exactly what I was thinking.
Maybe I've been keeping a little too even keel.
You kind of give yourself an out, like, oh, no. I keep keep this all even keel and I save it for when you're real and then I'm like
Well, maybe you do on average just need to be a less a little less even keel all the time
Yeah, like your loads are always your horse cock slightly higher loads all the time that does add up, right?
You know like get used to the higher loads and then you're also used to a little higher level stimulation
So then you like then you can go to an even higher level stimulation because now you're you've acclimated to stimulation
So that's the same exact thing. I've been thinking about that like I'm like no maybe I am to
Call because I kind of get to where I'm like no
I just this is a marathon and it's just like doing the reps doing doing the weight, doing, and you just, it's accumulation over time.
But then I do think you can get too much in that
where you're like, no.
Especially like if you're,
cause if you're not like dinged up or anything
and like things are going good, it's like,
oh, maybe it is different if you're injured
or you're fighting stuff like that.
But that is the beauty of a gym is that when you're in a gym,
you realize there's levels to this.
Right. And I'll never forget.
Actually, I'll say I'll never forget.
And then I'll go, I actually can't remember the details.
So I clearly forgot, but there was a time in Masonomics gym where.
I I'm pretty sure I was trying to do like sets at like two 75.
I was probably trying to like five sets of three at two 75, which for me at the
time was like one of my heaviest sets ever.
And I remember being like, Oh, I like kind of psyched up for the day and like kind of you know
A little anxiety about oh am I gonna get this whatever and then I'm pretty sure is that same day
I saw Ross bench like 415 or 440 or
420 for a set of like five and just smoked it and I'm like I'm over here worried about like
275 and then I was like, okay
I gotta like man up
and actually just do this damn thing and quit,
quit like letting this.
And then it's like, yeah, and you blow through it.
And you're like, and then also like, you know,
I mean, you were doing the same thing
when you guys were like benching over 400, like every week.
And it's like, oh yeah, like the level of intensity
and the level of effort here is way different
than what it requires for my sets of mid 200s. And then it was like, yep, yep, I can, I can a hundred percent bring the intensity,
bring the effort way more than what I, and to be, to be fair, like I was going hard,
but then like, no, there's like, there's like extra gears that I didn't know. And then like,
once you, once you're aware of those gears exist, you can kind of go to those gears.
And after spending a week with like Boogs and Joey and Jujie and Mikey and all them doing that, once you once you're aware those gears exist you can kind of go to those gears and
After spending a week with like Boogs and Joey and Jujie and Mikey and all them doing that like and mark. It's like oh, yeah I've it's been a while since I've seen those gears dust it off. Yeah, I forget those are there
Yeah, you can access those a little more than what I'm used to
Yeah, and I think it would be good for people to be more aware of that in general
I think so too
You can also get trapped into it too much, probably on a lift that you think
you're not as good at.
If you're like, oh, Bench, I'm not as good.
Like, I'm not saying you or me or anyone.
But I mean, I get if you're like, oh, Bench, I'm not as good at.
Yeah. Or deadlift.
I'm not as good at it.
So then you're like.
Almost subconsciously bringing less intensity to it.
Well, this, you know, this is like not a lift
I you know, I just this isn't my lift, you know
So then you're like more laid back on the lift to begin with and then you're watching mark
Zurcher deadlift off a deficit 500 pounds on a tsunami bar
Yeah, and it's like oh, he's like six five like me just getting into that position
Even didn't tell me to lift the weight just getting that position.'d be like no, I can't do that and then watching this guy
Several inches taller than me lift 500 pounds off the ground do it and I'm like, oh
Yeah, maybe I maybe I'm just being a little bit too much of a baby around these weights
I just need to be a little just need to be a little tougher with these things when it comes right lift
Yeah, I think that's good.
Some words of wisdom.
That's good sets and reps talk that we picked up on.
That's probably the realest thing we learned
from that trip is that we took away from that.
I think. That is, that is.
Yeah, that's the takeaway.
Go horse cock some heavy loads this week, people.
Maybe go watch a Boogs video too
for a little inspiration.
I've been watching more of them.
Oh, I have too. He's got his format figured out. It is good. Go watch a maybe go watch a boogs video too for a little inspiration. I've been watching more of them
He's got his format figured out it is good. I like he reviewed the gym
The entire time oh that was the video
I said I'm like I needed like some glute ideas
Yeah, and he had this video and then boogs is doing it. Yes. And it was like a nine minute video. And he never talked about it. The last like 20 seconds, he does one exercise.
He's like, yeah, I mean, that one's pretty good,
but not as good as this one.
And he's like, guys, this has to,
we'll have to do this another time.
And he's like, nine minutes in going crazy
for all nine of them.
And the title didn't even address the title of the video.
I liked too, he was talking, the spudding safety spot.
Cause he's been using that a lot.
That was one that we used to advertise on the podcast too.
Yep, yep.
And I guess it's worth saying the Jujimufu,
the first two Jujie videos have come out about,
I don't think that's been since the last time it recorded.
So go to the Jujimufu YouTube channel and check out the deadlift
Competition that we did and then also the cyber truck deadlift. Mm-hmm
Some really wild comments on the cyber truck deadlift YouTube video
Yeah, I don't even think we can give the comment. I don't even know if we can even touch that right now. Yeah
Go through the intricacies of that at the moment.
And then there'll probably be more videos from there coming out and check out our
YouTube channel, the Beyond Power of Ultra posted this last week, this one's
that's coming out now.
By the time this comes out will be the Darko, the Darko workshop tour, I guess.
Right.
Yes.
Yep.
Yep.
That will be the, that will be the
That'll be the one and then we probably shortly after that
We've got some of our content from the juji trip that was coming on YouTube. We got so much stuff
We still have a bunch of California stuff to come we got Efren's to her coming up
David's that we haven't seen strength co-tour we got a lot of stuff in there. Oh my god. I forgot the strength co-tour
Oh, yeah, yeah, we do four videos
We're still sitting on there. Wow my favorite part of editing these like now at this point and you know
I just did the just did the
Darko workshop on last night is that I load it up to watch to edit it
I'm like watching for the first time here. Yeah
You're watching it for especially the the style of videos we were shooting
where for the most part, like it is just a cut.
So, you know, you're not having to sit there
being like analyze all the places to cut the, you know.
I open up that video, I get the sound fixed,
get the color fixed and let her play.
And if there's any, you know,
I'll make some notes to myself while it's going,
if I need to go back and do anything.
But the first pass is pretty much just like a YouTube video. And then I just go back and clean up a few things that I have to and it's done
So make sure to like and subscribe to our YouTube channel for all of that content that's coming leave us a comment on this video
Leave us a comment on every frickin YouTube video that we've ever done. We believe maybe it helps
presumably
last thing I wanted to say is the road to 600 is real.

They continue to trick me out of money I have been fooled into sending these guys money monthly for a podcast I can listen to for free
Now I am pulling money from child's college fund so I can buy shorts from them when the regular ones would be just fine. My wife said she thought they were funny too so
I guess that is something. Well we have met your wife now actually two years
later. She thinks a pair of shorts are funny next thing you know she's making meatloaf
for some guys from South Dakota. It's a slippery slope. So true. Next one is from
Gene Milder. Doctor mark. I'm a doctor

This is the place for you.
I put pen to paper and can afford not to leave a review.
The only question is, have Big Tanner and Big Tommy figure out
all the known issues with podcasts? Yes. Yes, they
have. That's it. Leave us a five star review so we can read it
on the podcast in two to three years. Most importantly, so we
can get to 600. Anything else that we need to hit on this
week or to be hit on at all we hit hit a home run with 469 I
think I think we got it all.
Be on the lookout for that April 1. It's our biggest. I've we said it all. It's all been said this episode one final reminder
