Starting point is 00:01:00 the dakotas as always my name is tanner and my name is tommy oh we got ah so much to have cover this week. It's going to be an absolutely insane episode. I do not know how we're going to fit this into any reasonable amount of time, but we are going to do our best to do that. And I think the best way to do that would be to start the show by talking for about 15 minutes about how much stuff we have to talk about. That's your fireway.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Set in the stage. This week's episode is brought to you by our good friends down in Texas. We were just in Texas yesterday for a little bit. And not at the Texas Power Bars factory, but hopefully someday we will get there to check it out. They have their pre-Black Friday deals going on right now where you can get savings on all bars that they have. And they have some top secret exciting stuff
Starting point is 00:01:54 that's coming out at Texas Power Bars. Be on the lookout. We might get the first glance at some of it come Black Friday. So stay checking. Stay ready at Texas Powerbars.com. And this is officially Black Friday week. And, you know, Black Friday in the American tradition is all about treating yourself and spending money. And what better place to go in the Strength Co.
Starting point is 00:02:16 And pick yourself up a set of made in America Olympic iron plates. They're smooth. They're easy to grip. They're e-coded. They're made to last a lifetime in your gym and look good while they're doing it. Got a whole set of strength coat plates. Massanomics has like five sets of strength co plates in the gym there. That's the reason.
Starting point is 00:02:36 They're the best. They're the best. They're our favorite. you should have some too. Head it over to the strength.com and pick yours up today. Thank you, The Strength Co. We just got back from a two-day trip to the Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. I'm like for real brain dead today.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I'm so freaking exhausted. Someone asked me, I was at our kids pick up, and someone I know said, oh, your wife told me you guys were doing a gym tour wherever. Where'd you go? I was like, yeah, we went to, and it took me way too long to think of where we were at. I was going to say North Carolina. You probably never heard of it. It's called Nashville.
Starting point is 00:03:20 North Carolina, nope, that was a while ago. I was going to say New York. Then I run through the New England states and like, nope, that was about a month ago. Oh, Nashville, there it is. I'm feeling great for the episode. I think my body has officially accepted that I no longer get to sleep at night. And I just continue to work around the clock, including leading up to this episode. because last night again, I didn't get home until 1 a.m.
Starting point is 00:03:41 was up by 6 a.m. to start my workday. And here we are now recording at 9 p.m. going to go to 11 p.m. And I have a ton of orders to pack that. And I may even just have to stay up tonight to do them because I'm otherwise unsure of when they will ever get done. Where, why, when? Yeah, how was that drive home? I've had worse ones. Oh, you have?
Starting point is 00:04:05 Really? I have had worse ones. Oh. which is surprising because we burned the candle from all seven directions for this trip. And I know we talk about it a lot and maybe we sound like a broken record, but we definitely did that again this time. And that 11 p.m. or I mean 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. drive home, the three hours from Sioux Falls to western northeast South Dakota. I was a little worried about it. It actually went pretty good. Oh, I wasn't falling asleep.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I was tired. I was gassed. I was dead. I desperately wanted to be home. It felt like it took way too long. But when I say it went good, it did not feel like I was dangerously almost falling asleep for three straight hours.
Starting point is 00:04:49 You were hallucinating at any point or anything. No, no, I was, I was pretty good. And so that's cutting to the end of the chase, I guess, too. But even before all that, you know, this kind of adds to the wild, crazy adventure that is Masonomics, that Massonomics keeps developing. into this weekend, you know, five days ago, we had the first annual Massonomics
Starting point is 00:05:15 Fescent Hunt Roundup in western, northeast, South Dakota. And that was a Saturday-Sunday event. Yes. Yes, it was. That wasn't kind of giving it a massanomics name. That wasn't a, you know, a widely publicized event, you know, wasn't our typical event where we're trying to get people to come over
Starting point is 00:05:33 from all over the world and jam packet. But it was, I mean, it did, turn into a massonomics pheasant hunt, right? It did. And it's, I mean, you were working behind the scenes more, but I mean, the credit really goes to Dylan, the president of North Dakota, for making this one happen, right? Yeah, he's been asking for the inspiration.
Starting point is 00:05:51 He's been asking for years about coming in, you know, Dylan, President North Dakota, obviously a big hunter for anyone that knows him very into hunting down there in Texas. And he's been talking for years about coming up here to do a pheasant hunt. And I've always said, you name the day and, you know, we'll do whatever we can to make it work. And this year he named a day. And I'm like, yep, I think we can make it work.
Starting point is 00:06:13 We can turn a pheasant hunting weekend into it. And then Big Paul, who's listened along live, came on up from Sioux Falls with both of his dogs. Big Tom from the gym. I was in the gym on Friday, I think. And I said, Tom, why don't you come pheasant hunting with us? You like hunting? And he's like, you know what? I think I'll do that.
Starting point is 00:06:35 So Big Tom said, Big Tom's exact words were, well, I don't say no to much. So he came and hunted with us also. Jack, my son and his buddy, came and hunted with us also. And then my father-in-law, Big John and his friend, Big Jeff. Yep. And then Dylan's wife and their friend. The Texas crew, which is centered around was Dylan Canaan. us and Jackie, the three of them.
Starting point is 00:07:07 They drove 1,500 miles one direction from Texas for the pheasant hunt. Yeah, that's a trip. Yeah, and Post, he was here this week, that weekend, pheasant hunting too. Yeah, Pulse Malone was also in Aberdeen Fesson Hunting. What are the chances? Yeah. It was a blast.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I haven't gone pheasant hunting in 15 years. I grew up, you know, I probably went pheasant hunting for 12 straight years, and then I probably went 17 years without fesson hunting again. When I was younger, we'd always go a few times a year. And I probably about the time I turned 21, 22, I never went again. And so yeah, same thing, been about 12. I mean, at least 10 years, maybe up to 14 since the last time I went.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And, dude, I had a blast. Like, it's. It was freaking fun. It was really fun. It was really fun. The weather was good, too, as far as mid-November goes for that whole thing. And we saw birds. Like, the whole thing was just.
Starting point is 00:08:05 it was a good time. The second day, we went to some places where there's less birds and some places where there were more birds. But for anyone that's gone pheasant hunting, you kind of know the feeling. But the second day we came upon a place that it was, you know, there were just bubbling out constantly. So it was a real shoot-em-up in there. I mean, it was, I mean, we went through that slew basically. And I don't know, there was over 100 birds that got up. out of the, I mean, there was a lot of hands, but there was over 100 birds that got up and just hearing Dylan just giggling like a little girl going through there because I think he couldn't quite believe his eyes.
Starting point is 00:08:45 All the birds flyed around. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. We walked a lot over those two days. We hunted, you know, from we were ready to roll at 10 a.m. to, you know, start walking right at 10 a.m. both days. And we went until literally until sundown until we couldn't hunt anymore both days. And we did a lot of hard walking, too. A lot of slews, a lot of cat tails, a lot of tall grass.
Starting point is 00:09:07 We didn't do much easy walking, honestly. I am not sure my hip flexors. Paul said his dogs were out of commission on Monday. Oh, I believe that. I couldn't believe they were good on Sunday even. But I don't know if my hip flexors have ever hurt from walking. And by the time we were done with that, just the idea of like lifting my leg up to get into my car even was painful. It was that grass you're walking through, though, was intense.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I mean, it was grass that's, you know, seven, eight feet tall. and you're just pushing through. And it's resistance every step. It's like go go walk like 10 miles on a sand dune stepper. And also the entire way have like something pushing against your legs with every step forward that you take. And that's just you're doing that all day. Also it's 20,000-ish steps a day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Depending on the person, if you did a little blocking on average, probably everyone was doing 20,000 steps. But it was like through 20,000 of those steps. Oh, it was hard. Yeah, it was hard. Yeah. Yeah, when people say, like, use this phrase, you know, I got sore in places I didn't even know I could get sore. That actually happened on Monday. I'm like, oh, my God, I am sore in a couple places.
Starting point is 00:10:14 I do not even know what that is. I'm not even sure what's sore there because I've never experienced it before. Yeah. Anything else about the pheasant hunt, you know? We got a little Schwani's trip in. Yeah, we went to Shawnee's Saturday night, of course. You know, Dylan brought authentic imported lone star brew chachos that, We got to drink.
Starting point is 00:10:36 We had some of those on Saturday. And it was just a lot of fun. It was. We talked about it. You know, it's one of those things I would like it to be like a crew falls event or a whatever event where we just open it up and everyone possible comes. But hunting's kind of weird. It's different like that.
Starting point is 00:10:51 You can't. Can't go out with a group of a hundred people. No, you can't. It's impossible to move. You know, and there's a lot of moving. You're moving all day long.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I'm not talking about walking, but like literally moving locations. You also can't move with 23 vehicles. and you got trucks driving out into like these fields. Also, you're all shooting lethal weapons. So, you know, there's a thing that everyone has to be, you know, you preferably at least somewhat familiar with the process or at least a majority of the people so that it's not dangerous.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we probably won't do it in October, Jake asks. We'll probably actually stick to a real similar timeline because it actually works better with the hunting situation that we're not battling as many hunting. hunters around. And then there's a few things that work in our favor for the places
Starting point is 00:11:40 that we go. That when it's early in the season, Western Northeast, South Dakota, I don't know that we've talked about this much over the years. We probably have mentioned it, but it is a tourist destination for hunters, particularly in the early pheasant hunting season. Like it's wildly full of hunters.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Yeah. You know, if that would have been one of the first weekends of hunting season when we were out there, we really didn't encounter many other pheasant hunters at all anywhere we went. I don't know if we even did once actually. Right. And if that would have been like opening weekend,
Starting point is 00:12:10 we would have never went to a place that didn't have a pheasant hunter at it, probably, you know. Yeah. It was sweet. It was a lot of fun. And Dylan, Candice and Jackie,
Starting point is 00:12:24 they drove all the way here and drove all the way back and I don't think they regretted a second of that drive. Yeah. Yeah, that's impressive. That's a lot of travel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And Paul's dogs were the real MVP. Oh, man. Paul's dogs are Sage and Loki. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's impressive. And Jeff's dog.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Yeah, there's some real. Like when dogs really know what they're doing, it's like, man, how do these things know this? It's like, it's like an extension of a person. Yep. It's like, just imagine if Bernie would have been out there getting them birds up. He would have been barking and running like crazy. I'm not sure how much help he would have provided.
Starting point is 00:12:59 His presence would have been known, though. Would he have gotten tired from that day? Oh, God. Yeah. He is not in, I mean, he's not like in bad shape, but he's not in that kind of shape. That's all the other level. Yeah. I don't know that I'm in that kind of shape.
Starting point is 00:13:14 I'm not. Do you think, okay, so this episode, we talked about the pheasant hunt. We're going to talk about the Nashville gym tour events going on. Also, we're going to give the first sneak listen at the newest massonomic song in this episode. That probably should have been teased east. earlier. Also, we're going to hype up our Black Friday drop, which we have eight items coming out in this drop. We're not going to show them all off tonight. We are going to show a couple, though. We're going to give a sneak preview out a few that are coming. So what do we want to do first,
Starting point is 00:13:52 or do we want to have a can before we do anything? Actually, yeah, I should crack into a cold one here. Yeah. You got a cold star over there. I mean hot one. Yeah. We traded Dylan loan stars for grain belts. You know, I was in Aberdeen again. I know. Pete and the Dean, I could have brought some Ramblers home, but that would have required me to think about that, which I didn't do again.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Well, we had a lot going on. We had to get on them birds. Oh, that's good. I have a satsuma again, I think two weeks in a row with the satsuma. I think so. So then do we want to talk about the Black Friday drop? Maybe we'll get from that one here. Get a little teaser out there on that.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Yeah, let's get a teaser. So this is going to come out on Black Friday. For those of us that are supporting members, for those of you that are supporting members, you get a little bit earlier look at that. If you want to see when that's going to drop specifically, you can hop into the Discord. And there's an event out there that has the timeline
Starting point is 00:15:01 for the early Black Friday drop for all of our supporting members. So you guys get first dibs on everything coming out. And like I said, they are eight. New items, along with I think we're going to put a couple things on sale, too, a few items that will actually be on sale on our sale tab. Those are TBD. We haven't finalized what shows are exactly, but there are eight brand new items. And I do think we should say what's going to go free with every order with while supplies last. Yeah, this is part of the specifics of that, I forget.
Starting point is 00:15:33 This is part of the cool part for the Black Friday drop. So while supplies last, which should be. We have a lot of this, the free items while supplies last. So hopefully it lasts a while. Everyone will get a new coozy. A coozy we have not had before. You haven't seen it. Nobody's seen it.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I'm not going to show off yet what the design is on that coozy. But every order while supplies last will get a free coozy, along with a free magnet pack. The magnet pack comes with two different magnets. Oh, I forgot about the magnet. pack. Ah. Yeah, the free magnet pack.
Starting point is 00:16:13 There's two magnets that are free. So much stuff I can't remember all of it. Yeah. There are two. So every order starting at the Black Friday, the Black Friday early release time for those supporting members, gets a free Kuzi and a free magnet pack until those are gone. In addition to that,
Starting point is 00:16:39 the Kuzi is actually, there's a Kuzi Pekie. for sale. You can buy more coosies if you want to. Also, there's another magnet pack for sale, a different magnet pack that's three completely different magnets. Yeah. Also. And they're both good. Both packs are good. Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:53 So you can get those as well. And then cats out of the bag on this long sleeve tea. We're going to go into this one since I'm wearing it. We might as well talk about it. It's the Massonomics Apparel Co. Long sleeve, comfort colors tea
Starting point is 00:17:11 and what I don't remember do you remember what the name of this color is it's like a green of sorts sage maybe yeah I think it's sage green yeah and I love this thing
Starting point is 00:17:25 I haven't got to wear mine yet yeah between the color and the slight you know it's not the printing I wouldn't say is color on color but it's just a little more subtle yeah it's a little more subtle
Starting point is 00:17:38 it's got the massonomics M on the left chest and then the Massonomics Apparel Co down the left sleeve. This thing fits and feels freaking sweet. Love this thing. I could just wear it every day if I'm being completely honest. I haven't more mine yet but seeing it in person on you.
Starting point is 00:17:54 I'm like, yep, that's a good piece right there. Nope. Nothing on the back. So it's fairly simple and then just the screen printed tag like everything on the neck. No, Garrett, not the same blank as the last one. This is a comfort colors. Yeah, this is a, the same blank as the comfort colors T.
Starting point is 00:18:12 This is the long sleeve T version of that comfort colors. A shirt that we obviously sell all the time. This one fits the best of any of the long sleeves we've ever had. Love it. The other thing that we're going to show off that has been seen if you've been watching closely is we don't do this often. Black Friday is a special occasion. There is a new hat.
Starting point is 00:18:41 There is limited supply of. available of this new hat. I have a feeling if you don't hop on this early when sales go off, you're probably not going to get one because everyone, or not everyone, but a lot of people that have seen this hat are very excited about the hat. So there is a new hat. It does have a snap enclosure in the back.
Starting point is 00:19:04 And it is a patch on the front. And we'll try, I'm holding this up for the camera. so anyone that's watching along on this episode is going to be able to see it right here. And Tommy, how do you describe the art on this patch? It's like a retro, vintagey, hunting-looking patch hat. So we got this shape of a gold patch.
Starting point is 00:19:27 There's a goose flying through the middle of it. It says massonomics across the top. And smaller letters on the patch, you have SODAQ and established 2014. And I first thing, first time I saw this in person was you wearing it on the day of the hunt, Tanner. I showed up to your house. And I just, I kind of had forgot about the hats.
Starting point is 00:19:47 We ordered it quite a while ago. And my first thought was, damn, that's a really cool hat Tanner has on. And then once I realized what was going on, I'm like, oh, that's our hat. So that's how good it is. Yeah, and it's printed on a Richardson. It's like the Gramps.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I think the Richardson Gramps hat would maybe be a short version of it. But a little bit different shape and fit than the usual Richardson common one that we use. I don't know. Yeah, and it's a little more of like that comfortable kind of stretchy comfort hat too. You know, it's not like the thicker. I don't even know what you would call it. The bills may be a little shorter also.
Starting point is 00:20:25 It's nice, though. It's a good hat. Loaden green, and then it has a gold piping around the hat. It's freaking sweet. And these will run out. I can just about guarantee you, if you wait to order on this, you will not get one.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Yeah. One of the best hats we've ever made. One of the worst profit margin item. The real story on this hat. It almost didn't happen 10 different times. And we were trying to make it so bad because we just love the way it looked and everything. And it is so expensive. We are basically, we're selling it at a price that we don't make very much.
Starting point is 00:21:04 But the ultimate decider on this was we thought it was so cool. We're like, at the very least, we would. want this hat for ourselves, or we're going to make it and sell it, even if it doesn't actually make that much sense to do so. And he's not just saying that that is the truth. There's about four different times. We're towards the end. We're like, ah, you know what? Screw it. We just, we just can skip this one. We're like, nah, but it's so cool. Okay, fine. Fine. We'll just make it. It's just cool. It's just cool. So we have to. We do also have two other new shirts, two other new T's coming out. One is brand new. One is a variation of something we've done in the past.
Starting point is 00:21:45 We've got a brand new hoodie, a not zip, a pull over hoodie that's coming out on the same hoodie blank that we've used for the last several. We probably don't have to say much about the hoodie. We could leave something for the surprise there. Yep. And then we have a body. Yeah, we have a pair of shorts. A pair of shorts. A pair of shorts. coming out. Also, then we kind of talked about the magnet packs, coosies, and some sale items there. So that is the Black Friday drop. And really all of it is limited to a certain extent.
Starting point is 00:22:23 I guess I would say limited because just of the craziness of Black Friday that, you know, especially some items get hotter than others and some will sell out in sizes on the first day. Yeah. That's just the fact. And that's what I was going to say, you know, as far as the massonomics business is concerned, Black Friday, Saturday, you know, that 48-hour stretch there is our craziest stretch of the entire year, our busiest stretch of the entire year for online sales. And yeah, we're excited for it.
Starting point is 00:22:55 We think we got some really good things. And thank you in advance to anyone that order something. It really does make a difference here. Yeah. Yes, it does actually make a difference. It is kind of how we nut for the year. where the nut is made. That's how we make our nut for the final quarter of 2025.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Really go out of Q4 with a bang. Oh, a synergistic bang out of Q4. We're tearing down silos to NQ4 with a synergistic smash. We're all about synergy over here. We were eavesdropping on airport conversations over the week. and the way that people talk in a way that is like, are you trying, are you joking or being serious? You could say, we're pretty bullish on this conversation.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Buy low and sell high, am I right? That's right. And we do have the new Massonomics song. It's going to be a hit new single. I just wondering, like, do we, can we just, like, lead with the song? I think we can. I've listened to this thing like 10 times today, and I just, I can't get enough of it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:08 So maybe you just need to set the stage on the song. Like, are you just going to play the song? No, okay. Maybe we'll give it, like you need to set the stage. Because what caught us off guard is we didn't know we were getting into when this played. So it took us a little while to really, you know, it took us maybe a verse to really catch on to what was going on here. And the one thing I would just add to it before you set the stage is this is this is not a AI song. This is a real written play.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Like if you're thinking, oh, what's the AI song? That's not what this is. Yes. This is real. Real music by a real musician who completely shocked us by having this ready for us and playing. And it was in the moment it was actually insane. I'm like, what is it going on here? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:50 So where it happened was we were at Rory's. We did his gym tour and everything. And we'll get to that part a little bit later in the episode. And we were all done. It was dark outside. We were loading up the car. We were just about to hop in. And we're going, oh, I forgot.
Starting point is 00:25:02 I have a song I want to play for you guys. And we're like, oh, okay, cool. So we go inside, you know, heavy. expectations. I don't know. No one's ever told me they have a song they want to play for me before. Like actually play because Rory's a musician. So we go in and he doesn't give us a heads up on anything. He just says, hey, I've just been working on this today and I just want you guys to hear this. And so we're just standing there and this, what I'm about to play is the recording of the song that he did. And it's freaking sweet. It's freaking sweet. It's, should I say the
Starting point is 00:25:37 name of the song. Maybe that's giving away too much of the excitement. Yeah, you got to listen. For those listening along, it's fun because part of why this was so cool is we're sitting there in his cool office with all of his, you know, his guitars and everything he's got. The lighting's cool in there where he's going to play it and we're just sitting there not knowing what to expect. So we want everyone to listen maybe like they don't know what they're about to hear here also. And I got to say when we're sitting there, in person. It was just, it was so fun. It was so cool. The one thing
Starting point is 00:26:11 we'll give you a heads up on is listen to the lyrics. They're very Masonomics specific. I didn't know that's what we're getting into when the song was playing. It took me a moment to realize what was going on. But listen to these lyrics, man. And we're ready for this, Tanner? World premiere. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:26:25 World premiere. Here we go. Well, I remember when you could use a $20 bill to buy a 30 rack of real man's beer. There were no notes of citrus, no high feet finished, no. We didn't like that crap around here. I don't know how we'll round up with charity. Our raducatuity. When did we start tipping cashiers for selling us cold beers?
Starting point is 00:27:03 Say it's ain't what they used to be. Back when we used to be a proper freaking country. Back in we... I wish people would say World Wide Web again. I wish Coralight would bring back the twins. Well, I miss watching the 81 World's Storm. man and blasting Kenny long as
Starting point is 00:27:41 country a private seems a world has gone insane even cigarettes have been replaced by robots that make fruity things called babe they didn't need that back in my day
Starting point is 00:28:17 we didn't need that back in my day back when we a proverb a proverb That's the song That's guy can strum Quite the ditty Oh man that was
Starting point is 00:29:06 good. It was freaking awesome. Hopefully everyone you know, that's a fan of Masonomics appreciates that as much as we can't. We do if you do, you know that we used to be a proper country is a long running bit of Masonomics and Rory took that
Starting point is 00:29:22 mini quotes, actual quotes from the show over the years and turned it into a song. Yep. Yep. And he did great. And it's one of those things where, you know, in person, you know, you're taking, it's just so much is happening. but we've really dissected and listened to all the lyrics a lot.
Starting point is 00:29:40 And, man, he just, he nailed it. It's great. Yeah, he actually looked up transcripts over the past several months. To find all the things we've complained about, you know. Beer, $20 to get you a case. This IPA, hop me, crap. Yeah, vapes instead of cigarettes. Yeah, Tipping and the Coors like twins.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Wish people would say worldwide. web. A lot of really dumb stuff that I think we probably said most of it. Yes. Yeah. And one other thing on it, actually the music video of that I think is going to
Starting point is 00:30:19 come out like a day or two after this podcast does, right? Like that's our plan. So you'll be able to see the live recording of it going down and we'll have that on YouTube. Yeah, we'll put that on our YouTube channel. We'll collaborate with Roar Man on that one. And man, that guy can freaking strum can he
Starting point is 00:30:36 can strum yes Colton asked if it's on Apple music no so it's not on Spotify it's not on Apple music it's going the music video that Tommy recorded there will be on our YouTube shortly after this comes out probably
Starting point is 00:30:56 the next day or two but it will be likely audio version on more more refined audio version that Rory's working towards getting on Spotify. That probably will be before the end of this year, I think roughly is the goal. Before the end of 2025, it should be on Spotify also. We used to be a proper country by Rory Ellis.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Ah, that's great. Yeah. So that was so cool. You know, everyone always treats us well, everywhere we go, and we always have a whole bunch of great experiences. But this was a first for sure, right? Absolutely. I've never had a song to a, someone do a custom in-person song for it.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Yeah. Okay. Should we do supporting our supporting members for the week? Yeah. Supporting our supporting members is a relatively new segment of the podcast. It's only the third time that it's appeared here in season two of the show. So still very new, very fresh in season two, actually. It's how we give back. One of the ways we give back to those that give to us.
Starting point is 00:32:03 If you'd like to become a supporting member, we'd love to be a supporting member. to have you go over to massonomics.com slash join. That's where you can get signed up. We have several different levels that you can get signed up out. There's more entry levels, more advanced tiers, depending on what level you picture yourself at, where you fit into the puzzle. We'd love to have you anywhere.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Any of those options would be awesome to see you sign up if you're not already. You get a whole bunch of perks back. One of them is this that we're going to hear, then a whole bunch of other things like you get to our Discord. You can listen to our pre-show. It's what we put out there before the actual show. Each week, we don't record it. It's only for supporting members.
Starting point is 00:32:40 It's also how you can listen along live like several are right now. Each week, we have special mailers that go out a few times a year that we give gifts to just supporting members. Many other things. What's the community? Oh, the community, that you get involved in. You can come lifting the lift, hard leave easy classic, come to crew falls with us in a couple weeks, a whole bunch of community events that is just for supporting. members. And this week, Big Matt says in the garage gym competition 2025 fall version, he got
Starting point is 00:33:12 top men's 110 kilogram lifter. Nice. Yeah. Big David and Big Ryan had a crew meetup in SoCal. I think they exchanged bells of steel stringers. I was dying when I watched that. Was that just on his story? I can't even remember. Oh my God. I think Tanner, I think we were in the hotel room. I was laying to my bed and I was cracking up. Like, I just couldn't, I couldn't keep it together with that damn bells of steel stringer. Big Andrew found out that he's having a baby girl. Big Jen competed at the legend.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Wait, what big Andrew? Big Andrew from Ohio. Oh, okay. Okay. Not from Minneapolis or from Timoeula. Or probably six other places. Yeah. I'm a supporting numbers from. Big Jen competed in the Legends meet.
Starting point is 00:34:04 It was Masters only. She won the 25 to 29 class. I think it was it. She was just kidding. It was the 45 to 49 class. She hit a 220 squat, a 127 bench, a 308 deadlift for a 661 total PR. Nice.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Yeah. Big Sage and Big Loki for sniffing out those birds this week. And Big Patrick was this week's guest on unpaid and underrated. Our brady little sister podcast, where every week, almost every week, they interview a supporting member. So it's an additional perk of becoming a supporting member. As you could be the next guest on our sister podcast. If you go start giving that a listen and get more involved there, you could be next.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Thank you, supporting members. What about a certified training facility of the week? I think we got one earmarked and dovetailed, don't we? Do we? I don't know. Do we? Yeah, we do have one. We're going to go to, you guessed it, Nashville, Tennessee. Oh, yes, that's right. That's right. Yep. Yeah, we're going to go right almost to the heart of Nashville to Papa Doc's gym
Starting point is 00:35:13 and visit Big Collin and everything that he's got going on inside of his gym. We'll talk about our tours of Nashville. Just after this segment, as a matter of fact, we're going to give. get to it, but we did miss. We were trying to make it to Popadoc's. There's a few other ones we missed. Popadox was actually one that we were planning on getting to. Right until the day of, we had some schedule changes,
Starting point is 00:35:42 and we were not able to make it there. So consolation prizes, he made it to certified training facility of the week. With his Nashville brother. Probably the least we could do. Yeah. So have you been scoping out the pictures at Popadocs here? I wish we could have looked at this in person. I know. That's what, yeah, there's a lot of really good stuff here.
Starting point is 00:36:02 So yeah, just take, we got four photos to look at. First thing to note here, this is in a garage, right? Yes. Yes. Yeah, it looks like a very nice garage. Yeah, like it's finished very nicely. Like it's got trim and I mean, it's a very well-finished garage. We got horse stall mats and this garage is set up kind of in like the back corner of the garage,
Starting point is 00:36:24 the back end of the garage. Horse stall mats. Oh, man, there's just a lot to look at here. So let's start. We'll start on the left side. We'll go left to right like we're reading a book here, Tanner. Yeah. On the left hand side,
Starting point is 00:36:36 well, first of all, there's a little pupper down there. But we got two benches. It looks almost like matching rogue benches or matching some kind. It's just dark enough. I can't quite tell what those benches are. Well, if you look at picture three,
Starting point is 00:36:48 you can see it a little bit better to. Yeah, I don't know. Still don't know what benches they are, though, for sure. It doesn't seem very tall. No, maybe it's the, God, I can't even keep.
Starting point is 00:37:00 It's not the shorty bench? Is that a thing? No, because it would have some prime green on it. Okay. I don't know if it's like the new rep bench. What's at the Nighthawk or whatever? Okay. Okay, that could be that.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Two of those. We got a curl bar hanging on the wall. There's a dumbbell rack. There's like a split squat pad there, right? Is that what that is? Yes, that's a nice dedicated split squat pad. That's a very nice one. Yep.
Starting point is 00:37:23 That's a cool piece. He's got a double deadlift jack. Oh, yeah. Yep, yep. And then you work your way over to the rack, and there is a lot going on with the rack. I'm actually just going to jump to photo number two because there's so much going on with the rack.
Starting point is 00:37:36 You can see, I think, a little better. Starting from the top down. We got a Voltra. Vultra hanging right up on the rack there, so you know we're talking pretty serious. And then if you look down a little bit, there's another Voltra on the rack. Got two Voltras on a rack.
Starting point is 00:37:50 That's not something you see every day. Looks like, is there like some old school, like York plates on here maybe? that would be my guess is what the iron plates are you know the 45s he puts them at chest level you know it's the Brian Copelman trick it's a guy that knows what's up right there
Starting point is 00:38:06 yeah and guy he's got the storage in the back of the rack a lot of attachments he's got a shelf in the rack for kettlebells looks like bumper plates um oh he's got the black widow rack extensions for his pull-up bar too on there
Starting point is 00:38:24 what else do we got we got We got a bunch of collars hanging off the side. Is it wall control behind there or just or pegboard? I can't tell if it's walk control or pegboard. But yeah, and then he's, yeah, there's a like a road matador or something. There's a bunch of belts, bands, things like that hanging too. Well, and his rack is extends off the right side then, right? Yeah, he's got the little, what he called the batwing or whatever off the side of it.
Starting point is 00:38:50 And I'm not totally sure. Because by the way, this is set up, you know, there's no. Does he use the vulture over there? That's what I'm wondering if he does more vulture stuff. because there's nothing that like gives away like what exactly he's doing but i would imagine he's doing something with that uh the way that setup is then we got some bars mounted on the wall kind of hard to tell from this angle what they are you can see he's got the oh yeah there a curve bar it's like a buffalo duffalo bar he's got the rep fitness SSB he's got oh probably
Starting point is 00:39:21 a deadlift bar in there and a couple power bars and what's the what's the neutral grip swiss arch one. I think it's a Cadillac. Is that the Kuwky? That's the Cadillac of bars? I think so. He's got a motorless treadmill in here also. Yeah, good call.
Starting point is 00:39:38 And a mini split to keep the air temp just right. Although it was perfect in Nashville. Oh, there was great there. Just have the door open and just loving it. Great Jim, really. I wish my only regret is that we didn't get to go tour it in person. The best we can do making a judgment. over the internet though, Tommy, do you think you get strong there?
Starting point is 00:40:00 Oh, hell yeah. You know what? I just found one more thing in here. Photo number three, there's a mirror. And if you look in the mirror, it looks like I can see the reflection of a Peloton bike. You see that? He was hiding it from us. Yep, hiding it in plain sight.
Starting point is 00:40:18 He was hiding it from us, wasn't he, that son of a gun. Looks like on the wall he has a tankless water heater. Yeah, I think so. don't see those every day. No, I believe that's an instantaneous tankless water heater that he's got there. Relevant? Maybe not. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Thank you, Papa Doc. I wish we could have toured you in person, but here's, you just get the certified training facility of the week, though, which is a decent consolation prize. You two could become a certified training facility. Go to massanomics.com slash certified. It's how you become certified training facility of the week. It's how you get on our map. Go check out the map.
Starting point is 00:41:04 If you haven't, there's now over 400 certified training facilities in there. If you haven't looked at it recently, take a look again. There might be someone located by you again because they're popping up all over the place. And it's how we find you when we do gym tours, like when we come to Nashville. It's how we get you on our radar. This week's episode is also brought to you by barefoot shoes. When we were in Nashville, I noticed a few of our comrades wearing barefoot shoes. Anan had them displayed in his gym.
Starting point is 00:41:38 We actually talked about him. He also had the Ursus Gen 2 just like I was wearing. He said, I think he actually prefers the Gen 1 a little bit better over the gym too. And my take on that is, I've said this before, but I like them both. I like them both for slightly different reasons. But I don't know that there's a right. There's not a wrong answer. They're both the right answer.
Starting point is 00:42:02 There's no wrong answer. You pass this test by buying either of them. They are great. They are at barefoot.com. You can use discount code. Masonomics, you can and should. It'll save you 10% for everything you buy from Barefoot. Thanks, Bearfoot.

Starting point is 00:43:24 Okay. I'm wondering if we need to hop in some gym tour and are you going to boot everyone out? Oh, yes. Give them the ad. Well, I'll round up the charity or at a bit of a party. A little boot everyone out of the show. You know, nothing makes you think it more than a guy just to be a great.
Starting point is 00:43:53 That just does make you think we used to be a proper for. You know, nothing makes you think it more than a guy just singing it right to your face. It drives the point home. Really strum it right at you, doesn't he? I'm excited for that to come out on YouTube. It's the guy gets to strumming, you know. It's all business. Okay, so kind of getting into the title topic, I suppose we'll call it the title topic, right?
Starting point is 00:44:28 Yep. Ooh, ah, ah, okay, we toured Nashville. How the heck did that trip start? Well, like all of them. super, super early. And why did it start even also? Why did we even go to Nashville? Yeah, so the whole thing,
Starting point is 00:44:49 actually they've got to back this up to our previous trip. When we made our trip to the Northeast through New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, we stopped at our good friend, Brian Coppulman's house. And while we were there, you can go back, watch the tour. He made a comment about, I believe, using the GHR in WWU's Superstar,
Starting point is 00:45:11 Seamus's home gym. And he might have even in the video made a comment of, oh, you guys should go to his house. You guys should go tour his gym sometime. Go do it. And that's the type of thing you go, yeah, we should. But we don't have that connection. And if you listen back, I think after we recorded that episode,
Starting point is 00:45:28 we said, oh, you know, we got done with all the gyms in the northeast, the tour. We were so exhausted. And on our way to the airport, we're like, oh, finally, we can just relax. We can turn the brain. brains off. We can be done. We sat down in the airport and I don't know. We'd probably been sitting in our chair 30 minutes when you get a text Tanner on your phone from Brian Copleman and a number we didn't know. And that was Brian and Seamus. And Brian had already made the connection to Seamus, said, hey, guys, figure this out. And the whole part of us saying, oh, finally, we can relax. We realize like, nope,
Starting point is 00:46:05 this is not done. Now we need to orchestrate. actually one of our biggest tours and trips ever that we have to do now all of a sudden. Yeah, we got to orchestrate this trip with Seamus. And so, like, we're nervously texting back and forth in the airport like, oh, do we text right away? Should we wait a little bit? Like, what do we say, you know? And we just text him right away.
Starting point is 00:46:24 And he also text us back right away. He was actually in his garage working out at the time. And there was some back and, well, and then we had to get on the plane. So then there was a couple hours of just nothingness. And then we got off. We're right back to texting. and he kind of, his option was, hey, do you guys want to be here on like Wednesday?
Starting point is 00:46:41 Which was like two days away. Like six days or four days or whatever it was. It was like four days away. And it was like, ah, we actually can't do that. And so we ended up arriving at this date of like November 17th or whatever. Yeah. And so we had, this was about a month ago. So we had about a month to plan this thing out,
Starting point is 00:46:58 which actually worked out well for us because then we could start planting the seeds on getting these other gym tours lined up. And yeah, we would. went into the weekend with the initial plan was six tours, right? Six. Yep, we went in with six tours. We ended up walking away with five, but,
Starting point is 00:47:15 you know, there's a little scheduling conflict, but we did get five great tours out of it. And, freaking smashed them. Oh, we did. We did.
Starting point is 00:47:24 And like you were saying, the days always start way too early. The alarm goes off at 4 a.m. And we catch our flight out of Sioux Falls, which luckily went off without a hitch outside of just still somehow taking way longer than, it should and we get to our gate and there's like still only a few minutes. There's no time to go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:47:42 We weren't sprinting. We weren't sprinting, but there was enough time to go to the bathroom and wait about five minutes. And bored. Yeah, I'm bored. So, but we did get to Nashville without an issue. Tanner, what do you think? Which was awesome because I was getting pretty worried to tell you the truth of the way everyone was talking about flights.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Yeah. Yes. And we had to connect through O'Hare and O'Hare was having a lot of problems with the whole situation with everything that was going on. Yeah. So, yeah, other than the one flight being just a little slow, everything went pretty smooth there. And Tanner, do you have any thoughts on people that work at rental car booths at all? Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:20 We do actually have to. This is a massonomics aside. I'm glad you brought that up. I would have completely forgot about it. It took me a second to remember what happened. Also, got to say, such a blur of my days that I'm like, wait, that was like two days ago right now even. In my mind, that was two weeks ago. I just can't.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Yeah. So much has happened. Because we did so much stuff in the last like five days where it's just action packed so much stuff that it starts to be like, that couldn't have been two days ago because we've did so many things in between then and now. But yeah, getting our freaking rental car, which we've done this a lot of times now, a lot of people have rented cars. You know the process. But haven't met one that did try to do as many sneaky. I would even say greasy, slimy upsells is this one.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Like literally, I would say even like actively deceitful. Oh, yeah, yeah. It was like this, this should be illegal. Like there's no. Right. I actually believe that it probably is on. Yeah, I mean, I could, I couldn't ethically do this to someone all day, every day and go home and sleep at night. Like that's, I did have to Google it, though.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Do people working at rental, car booths make commission? Yes, they do make commissions. I bet they get spiffs and stuff on those upsells. Yeah. They make commissions. That's exactly what's going on is, oh, yeah, it's crazy how when as a company you incentivize just selling shit versus like doing what's best for your customer. It's crazy how the incentives change of what your company does. But yeah, man, it was, it started.
Starting point is 00:49:49 Okay, we've rented a lot of cars. We are at the point where we basically rent a car once a month now. So we've gone through this process so many times. First of all, any, any ahead of time check in is just a chance, a chance to upsell you again. Yeah, it's just a song of dance. When they want you to check in on your phone, it's just to upsize. sell you because I did this thing. It's like, oh, if I check up on check in on my phone, you know, maybe I don't have to do all these questions in person, still have to do them
Starting point is 00:50:14 all in person. Because it's all just upsell questions. That's all that it's a check in is a check in is a second chance to get you to purchase more options. Yeah. And at best case scenario, you go to these. They ask you, hey, what insurance plan do you want? And we say no insurance. And they go, okay, that's fine. Like, and that's about best case scenario how it goes. Worst case is how this one goes. And it starts right off the bat. The guy goes, and to be fair, this time we were renting through thrifty, which we typically don't do. Right. And just a little more budget. Yeah. Quote unquote, but budget is also a name of one. But like it's a little more at least economical seeming. I don't know if the price is that much cheaper sometimes. It's not really that much
Starting point is 00:50:56 maybe it is. Yeah. Right. But it started, he's like, oh, do you guys just want me to put you down for, you know, if we do, because then the other thing I was asking is the prepaid fuel. And we always say no. Like, yeah, we're adults. We can run to a gas station before we go. But he goes, hey, actually, if you do the pre, is he even say the pre-bop fuel? He just goes, hey, if you buy gas from us, it's $2.90 a gallon.
Starting point is 00:51:16 We'll fill it for you at $2.90 a gallon. When you come back, you just don't even need to fill it up. You just bring it back. We do it $2.90 a gallon. And you're like, oh, really? I was like, yeah. I was like, I was like, is there like $2.90 plus something? Like, what's like, no, just $2.90 a gallon.
Starting point is 00:51:30 We take care of it for you. And you're like, oh, I was like, I guess that sounds good. easy and I'm thinking like, hmm, that's very different than how that conversation typically goes, but okay. But in my mind, I'm thinking, oh, maybe this is like one of thrifty, like, because I'm like, everyone maybe has a thing. So I'm like, oh, maybe that's thrifty. Yeah. And he's like, no, no, no, no, nothing to it. Just it's $2.90 a gallon. It's like, sweet. Okay. All right. Sure. Okay. We'll do that. And then the next thing, he goes, and then, oh, yeah, I see you guys are down for a Chevy tracks here. You guys are pretty big.
Starting point is 00:52:05 That's that's too small. We could get you. We get you upgraded here to a. Well, I don't even think he said upgrade. Yeah, he did. He just said, he's like,
Starting point is 00:52:13 he goes, he doesn't even say, he goes, let's get you in a wrangler or something. Yeah, that's, that's, that's,
Starting point is 00:52:18 that's the phrasing. Yeah, let's get you in a wrangler. Or, I can't even remember what else he said. Something else. Like more full size. Let's get you in one of those.
Starting point is 00:52:27 How's that sound? You're like, oh, sounds pretty good. He's like, what one do you want? And I go, wait,
Starting point is 00:52:33 is that an up charge? Um, oh, it's only a day, so it's only like 15 bucks. Yeah, it's only like 15 bucks. And you go,
Starting point is 00:52:42 oh, no, we're fine with the tracks. And he's like, oh, I don't give a shit. He's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:52:46 are you sure? It's like, sir, we just did a thousand miles across New York in a tracks. Also, the Chevy tracks is fine. Like,
Starting point is 00:52:54 I'm like, what, yes, it's not, it's not a carola. Like, you know, right.
Starting point is 00:52:58 It's just a small-ish SUV, but totally fine. for two guys. So he's like, okay, all right. And then he's like, okay, so, yep, now we have our, did you want the comprehensive insurance or just the basic insurance then? And I'm like, oh, can I use my, because usually that's never,
Starting point is 00:53:19 they never say it like that. Yeah, they offer you like, are you, the choices are, do you want our insurance or are you going to use yours? And his was, what of these premium options would you prefer? Yeah. Even there you go. I was kind of like, at this point I was starting to figure out, I'm like, wait, second. Like, I don't think he's going to, like, he's not just going to offer the basic options for us on
Starting point is 00:53:38 anything. No. And you go, well, can I just use my insurance? Oh, well, you can. But then you got to pay your deductible. Just how insurance works. That's, that's, I didn't say that to him. But when we left, I'm like, yes, I take that risk every day when I drive every one of my vehicles, that if I wreck it, I have to pay the deductible. So that's how the insurance works. Somehow I get out of bed every day, knowing that my deductible might have to be paid this day. But somehow I do it. So yeah, he didn't really like that, but eventually he caved and was like, okay,
Starting point is 00:54:09 all right, you can use your insurance then. And then was there one other thing or not? I think there was one other thing. I think there was one other thing because it like caught us off guards. We've never even heard it before, which again, at this point we figured out like,
Starting point is 00:54:19 no, you'll say no to. So then we walk away and we were both like, man, we have never had an interaction like that. And then we look at the thing and figure out like, also he was just talking really softly to add.
Starting point is 00:54:31 to the point where I'm like, I think intentionally making it so you just straight up can't hear them all the way. Yeah. And if you're the type of person that just goes along with things, you're just going to be like, oh yeah, you know,
Starting point is 00:54:42 like you don't even know what you're doing. Uh-huh. Yep, totally. And then we walked away and we're like, that was the weirdest interaction. I'm like, let me see that receipt for this. And then we figured out the catch on the gas
Starting point is 00:54:53 was like, oh, no, you prepaid for a full tank, which we were not going to be using it all, but at that point we had just come too far. So it was, I mean, we're talking a difference. $10, $20 here.
Starting point is 00:55:02 But I'm like, well, he still did screw us on that. Yeah, deceitful the whole way. So thrifty, man, as a company, change your priorities. Thrifty, not all that nifty. No. I mean, that alone will probably make us never pick thrifty again. Like, typically we do use enterprise. And for whatever reason, the prices were showing a little, you know,
Starting point is 00:55:21 a decent bit cheaper. But I mean, at this point, I'm like, yeah, I'm pretty much turned off from that company after that. I don't want to play that dick around game every time we go. I'm like, here's the credit card. Here's my license. Give me the keys. Let's go. I don't.
Starting point is 00:55:38 I'll say no. And we'll all move along here. We're paying to rent the car. Like that's how you can make your money from us renting the car. Don't like harass me for the third time. And he like almost when we tell him an answer, he was like, annoyed. Like it was about the insurance thing. He was like, wasn't going to just give up.
Starting point is 00:55:58 He wasn't just. He's like, oh, you guys are really. His opinion was, oh, you guys are really making the wrong decision. I'm like, I don't want to be harassed about this. Give us the fucking keys. Yes, because that's what everyone loves is a salesman telling them what their life, what the best choice in their life is. Right.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Yeah, so that was interesting. But we did get on the road. And we actually, oddly enough, this was like our first trip ever where we didn't have a gym tour scheduled within like the first 30 minutes of landing. and because our layover was so tight in Chicago, we didn't have time to eat. So at this point it was like almost 10 a.m. We hadn't ate anything yet.
Starting point is 00:56:35 So we headed on down to the local waffle house and did lots of eating and sat there for about two hours, drank a lot of coffee too. Because we didn't have a few hours to burn. We kind of, it was good because it gave us some game plan time and all the tours. And believe it or not,
Starting point is 00:56:50 we usually try to go in with a game plan. I don't know. Hopefully that comes off on camera when you watch them. But we usually have it, before we even walk into a place, we usually have done our research and kind of know what we're gonna, we at least have a good idea.
Starting point is 00:57:05 It might shift and change when we're there, but we usually have a good idea what the game plan is. Of things that we hopefully will bring up, things that we probably like discuss like, do we go this direction? Do we not like, and not even like from an inappropriate standpoint.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Just like, does that make sense for the conversation to be here? Like, yeah, do we want to spend this much time on this type of thing? You know, because a lot of the gyms, we have an idea of what they look like.
Starting point is 00:57:26 And so we're just kind of game plan and what we think. think the flow of the video and the conversation will be. And, yeah, we, so we made our way to Gunner Peterson's. And I mean, I had pretty high expectations, but, oh, man, this place is just absolutely insane. It's. And we've been to a lot of crazy gyms. We have been.
Starting point is 00:57:47 And this, I mean, this is. More than almost anyone, probably at this point, you know. Yeah, like, this is the craziest gym we've ever been to, right? Oh, yes. Yeah. I mean, just. just the sheer variety of machines that I've never seen or heard of in my life. I mean, this takes the cake on that by far.
Starting point is 00:58:04 You know, it's just like normally going to a gym and seeing the Kaiser Air pneumatic stuff is pretty wild. And that was like the most boring stuff in this entire gym was where those things. And yeah, that whole, he had some clients. He was finishing up training. So we got to talk with some of his trainers while we were. waiting to get going and I mean just looking around all of the that's the gym that just has a great
Starting point is 00:58:31 amount of stuff on the walls it's like we said it's probably like what people experience when they come to Masanomics gym where they just want to look around at the walls and take it all in that's what we're doing there the number of autographed signed things to him from celebrities movie stars basketball every basketball player ever that you ever
Starting point is 00:58:47 heard of yeah I mean like everyone that's played on the Lakers every Laker player ever of course you know Shaq Magic I mean he might have He might have had like, I don't know, 20 some Lakers jersey signed an autographed hanging on the walls. And he probably had like a hundred and some basketball signed throughout. Tons of shoes signed and hanging in his office. But every sport really too. And every actor and all the all the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Just like swimsuit models, like people that I don't even hardly know of this. But like all these magazine covers of people just been like, Gunner, you old bastard. Like a lot of them are like, Good, are you old prick? You know, kind of like the joke we talk about, you know. Yeah. A lot of like, gutter, fuck you. Also, thanks.
Starting point is 00:59:36 That was kind of like the common theme of most of the messages. Like busting balls. Yeah. Yeah. And it was sweet when he finds, so when he wrapped up with his, he was on a hard deadline and we do that ahead of time. That's also part of what we game plan is like how we,
Starting point is 00:59:51 how fast we approach these things. And I think like the first thing, you know, He was like, oh, nice to meet you guys. What do you need for me? What do you need? And then we're going to start talking. He's like, you know what? No, let's go sit in my office.
Starting point is 01:00:00 And so it was cool. We got to like sit and talk with him a little bit. And he operates at a high speed. Yes. Yeah, you can tell the man has a lot going on. But he was very generous with his time. I mean, like when when it was time for us, we had his 100% undivided attention. Like there was a lot of other stuff going on.
Starting point is 01:00:16 There was one or two times where he said like, hey, I just have to take care of this so we can be set here. And he kind of set people on their way. And then once the tour started, he was just like, like dialed in and ready to go. And I thought it was. I interrupted you though, too. What was the first thing, the first when he sat us down? Oh.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When he did sit us down, it's like the very first thing. So he sits down and he looks at us and he's like, oh, so you guys a couple. And we're like, uh, no, we're married. Like, do we have wives? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:46 And he kind of was like, oh, really? Like something like that. And we're like, what's going on here? He's like, I'm just fucking with you. Yeah. Okay. Like the second word we'd ever say. He's like,
Starting point is 01:00:56 we've never talked in person before. We've never met. But yeah, that's a very funny way to start. I like this. This is good. Yeah. But and then,
Starting point is 01:01:04 yeah, he was kind of busting her balls the whole time about. Yes. Whether it's South Dakota or whatever. But yeah, it was a really cool gym tour. I mean, I haven't got that,
Starting point is 01:01:15 gone, been able to go back and watch much of the footage yet. But that's another one of those where I'm recording it on camera and just like, oh, the scenery of this whole thing. the backgrounds, the way the lighting. I'm like, oh, this just looks sweet.
Starting point is 01:01:28 This is, this is a good, good tour. I also think it was a lot of fun. Like, people are going to watch that and be like, well, these people seem like they're all having a lot of fun while this is going on, you know, like it's just a good, good mood, a good vibe, I guess. And you might be surprised in that one how it ends up being about a 40 minute tour. And I don't know. We maybe talk about like 20 or 30 pieces of equipment of the like 200, 300 that are in there.
Starting point is 01:01:54 But it would be, things randomly almost. It would be a 10-hour gym tour if you actually talked about everything. Like you can't. Like there's just too much in there. So it's the one where we, I don't think we talked about a single barbell, you know,
Starting point is 01:02:08 machines that normally would be of interest and we talk about. We didn't even mention them. We pretended like they weren't even there just because there was so much unusual stuff that we had to touch on. He had me demo a couple things in there. It was kind of fun. Yeah. And there was.
Starting point is 01:02:21 There was some really, really cool, unique, unusual stuff. Yeah, and then we were at Adam Dirk's as a trainer there who we knew, kind of ran into him during the video, you know, while we're shooting. Actually, during the video, so you get Tanner's organic reaction to meeting him. And then, you know, we find out Trevor Simmons, who competed in the 2018 Strongman Showdown, lived there and, you know, trains with Adam.
Starting point is 01:02:48 And we'd like, oh, he was just down the street too. So it was kind of, it was funny. But that is an awesome gym tour. it was a lot of fun. It was. And if you watch, you know, Coop did a video with him probably about a year ago. And since that video, he's actually added a second, a whole second building. So like if you saw that, we toured and, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Yeah. So if you saw that video, you're like, oh, well, I already saw Coop did. It's like, well, actually, Coop only has half of it. Like, there's a whole second brand new building that's only been done a few months, I think he said. Yeah. Earlier this year, got done. So, yeah, there's lots to look at it. It's really cool.
Starting point is 01:03:26 Yes. So Gunners, we wrapped up and went to Roar Man's, right? Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yep, made our way to the Roer Man's. And Rory also... All the tours were in the greater Nashville area this time, kind of. Yeah, I don't know if we ever drove more than 30 miles at a time. Like the farthest probably was Gunner to Rory's, and that was like 30 miles, I think.
Starting point is 01:03:51 Right. And it was also a pretty straightforward drive. nothing, nothing too crazy, especially compared to driving, you know, some of the distances we've done in the past. Right. But, yeah, I got to Rory's. And Rory also, I was not expecting the, he had a new shed built. I didn't realize he had a new shed.
Starting point is 01:04:09 And, yeah, only, I think, didn't he say also just got done this year? Was that the case? Yeah. Yeah. So Koup has an old tour with him also. And that's in a completely different gym altogether. Like that was in his attached garage, not this detached shed that he had recently. built within the last year.
Starting point is 01:04:25 He was actually putting a lot of finishing touches on it, I think just literally prior to us getting there this week. He's kind of getting at show ready. Yeah, and it was show ready. It looked great. He has, you know, obviously with his products, you know, he's got a lot of that mixed in there, along with some marketplace fines,
Starting point is 01:04:45 along with his warehousing fulfillment center is there too. So it's a really cool spot to hang out. And also just the building itself is a cool part. of the discussion we have with him. And he has a lot of little massonomics nuggets. And, you know, very plugged into the massonomic community. Yes. So he really, he really had some good very massonomic specific stuff that he got in there on.
Starting point is 01:05:11 And then of course, well, he also had the swing sesh. He has the outdoor. Yeah. And actually, we didn't even touch on that because by the time we got out of that, it was dark out. And, you know, we'd already done about 30 or close to 40 minutes into this garage. But, yeah, he's, he's. He's got a really sweet setup. I'm,
Starting point is 01:05:26 I'm jealous for sure. It'd be cool to have it. You made the comment as true. It's like, oh, yep, this is kind of, this is the all time dream goal.
Starting point is 01:05:35 For anyone that has a home gym, it's like, you get that secondary building, that's not even your main garage that you're parking, so you can still park in your garage, and it's just the dedicated gym space and his is quite large,
Starting point is 01:05:46 you know, very huge, yeah, and make it big enough that you can pile some people in there if you want to. And you can, it's like the juji thing.
Starting point is 01:05:52 It's like, yep, get some people, together, have a gym day, and it's just, it's, it's, it's, you're separated from the rest of the house. It really is just its own little facility. Yeah, it was really cool. Uh, and then of course, we ended that with the, we used to be a proper country song that we played on that episode. And that was great. Did I say how we were hopping in the car? And he's like, oh, like, we were literally, we were done with the whole thing. We had our bags packed up. Yeah, we were like,
Starting point is 01:06:17 we might have had our car doors open. Yeah, we did. I mean, set my bag in and he goes, oh, I just, I wanted to play the song quick for you guys. It's like, oh, yeah. So we go in and having no expectations, man, did he, did he catch us off guard with that one? Yeah, that was good. After that, we had one last stop for the first day. So we headed to Big Coach Carps, which was, which is not far from Roarman. 15 minutes away, maybe. No.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Yeah, 15 minutes, I would say, something like that. And we got there just in time for chilly night. It was chilly night at the carp household when we took full advantage of it, you know? Yes, he did. Andrew Garrison's wife's meatloaf has become world famous on the podcast, and now Carp's chili is right up there. And it's a gym tour evening supper meal. That's what we needed, though.
Starting point is 01:07:06 We loaded it with some sour cream and cheese and went to town, and I was hungry. Yeah, I was too. It was good. Carp knows his way around a bowl of chili. He did get. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. So we got to eat chili with the fam, sit around, hang out with his wife.
Starting point is 01:07:22 his daughter was there, got to play with the dog a little bit. And then it was time to get to business. It went out in the garage and that YouTube famous garage gym, got to see it in person. Yep. Did the full tour. He's got a variety of different equipment in there because he's reviewing different stuff. He's got a lot in there. You know, I would say we talk about it probably on the tour.
Starting point is 01:07:48 I'm sure we did. It was part of it. But kind of the more budget friendly brands like that McColo that he's, had some of that stuff I'm like pretty decent it's pretty impressive like some of this cheap you know more budget brands that they're come some of stuff's probably still crap but I feel like they're coming around on certain pieces where you're like it's maybe like a little thinner gauge than the other brand then a lot of people a lot of people don't want to admit but doesn't matter and maybe it's like maybe maybe the j hooks suck but the rest you know like maybe a couple portions of
Starting point is 01:08:24 of it suck, but if you just upgraded those portions, it's actually quite nice. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, he had, yeah, McColo, he had a Ritfit thing in there. Are you had a Moccolo bench too, I think, right? Yeah, the bench. I mean, my take, I'm like, oh, this stuff is surprisingly good. Yeah. I don't know if 10 years ago, if people would have believed you that this is like the budget
Starting point is 01:08:46 import stuff. Right. And, yeah, those companies have really figured out how to step the game up. and carp's course supporting member certified training facility all that is walls are covered with all kinds of massonomics banners flags and memorabilia you know he's got all the assorted massonomics supporting member memorabilia from over the years too so he's got always fun going and seeing that stuff like yeah yeah that was just an idea you know a thing we might should maybe do want some time and now we're in you know Nashville Tennessee at our buddy's place seeing it on the wall yeah so it's kind of always cool Yeah, yeah, it was good, though. Coach Carps, we wrapped up then fairly late. Maybe by like 9 p.m. We were done now.
Starting point is 01:09:31 I think it was around 9, yeah. So then we drove to downtown east Nashville or just downtown Nashville. I think it was just downtown Nashville. Yeah, just downtown Nashville. That makes our day the next day a little easier because we're, the plan was to go to Seamus's at 7 a.m. bright and early start. and that was kind of just a bit of a balancing act because Seamus was just on Monday Night Raw like two days before.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Actually, the short of that story was that we were just finishing Rory's tour that we talked about, the timeline and everything. And I think I got a miss call from a while we're touring. So I call Seamus back and he's like, you know, starts to, it's always funny when people that are, we've had interactions with some people that do like famous stuff, you know, like Seamus and the WWE, of course,
Starting point is 01:10:23 and a few other things here and there. Like they tried to start to explain to you what they were up to last night. It's like, oh, it was wrestling last night. And I'm like, well, we get it, Seamus. It was Monday night. Raw you were wrestling with John Cena and John Cena's last ever Monday night. In Madison Square Garden. In Madison Square Garden.
Starting point is 01:10:39 We got a stuff going on. Yeah. But he hurt himself. You know, he had a shoulder injury. he was going to have to go to the doctor while right when we were scheduled to be there. So we shifted a bunch of stuff around, which was a shifting game. And it ultimately did work, but we did have to drop Papa Docs was one of the ones we had planned. And it literally wasn't going to be able to work.
Starting point is 01:11:07 And he was the last one we added. So he was the first one that got booted off the list, basically. Yeah, and we sat in the car and played out every scenario in our mind of like, how can this work? But it was just ultimately, it's like, nope, that's just he's not available at this time. He's not available at this time. The plane leaves at this time. Like, yep, there's just straight up not enough hours.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Like, if there was any way we could have made it work, we would have. We were actually close to being able to make it work in a couple different ways. And ultimately, it's just like, it just can't. Like, there's only so many minutes in an hour and we just can't literally do it. Yep, yep. And it's, yeah, just because there's a little bit of travel time between bouncing between the spots we got to go to. And, yeah, just unfortunately we couldn't.
Starting point is 01:11:52 But, yeah, it still ended up being a good day, though. So, yeah, so with that in mind, though, we headed over to Annen's house. First. First stop basement gym Anon's house. And, man, he's got a sweet gym. He does. He's got some really, really sweet basement gym.
Starting point is 01:12:13 Premium stuff. in there, doesn't he? Yeah, he's also got a couple of Voltras. He's got, we just in last week's episode said we haven't toured any gyms that have the Squat, Max MD. And there it is. Right. And he had it and we demoed that on there.
Starting point is 01:12:27 He's got a Temple of Gaines. Pendlems squat. Pendulum squat that we demoed too. And that machine is freaking nice. It is. That Temple of Gaines pendulum squat is really nice and quite heavy duty. Yeah. You know, I've seen it, I guess, at home gym kind of.
Starting point is 01:12:43 but at home Jim Kana, I kind of am in work mode when we're shooting videos, and I'm not necessarily just in browsing equipment mode. And I don't remember it that well, but seeing it there in Anand's basement, Jim, I'm like, this is freaking nice, way nice. Yep, that was, I didn't use it, but that was my takeaways. It seemed like a really well-built machine. He's got the decked-out rack in there. Yeah, his rack has every high-end attachment you could possibly want.
Starting point is 01:13:10 He has a really, really good selection of bars. Yeah, I haven't even but unpacked. Do you have, uh, he gave us a little gift. You know, Rory gave us the gift of music. Karp gave us the gift of chili. On gave us the gift of replica, Edmund Fitzgerald 3D printed models here. And I'm holding up for the camera.
Starting point is 01:13:33 This thing is awesome. Riggin' sweet. Yeah, it's really cool. Puts into perspective just how long it was though, doesn't it? It does. It really does. that that is, that's a cargo ship right there, isn't it? That's not just any cargo ship.
Starting point is 01:13:50 That's the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. Went down on the Big Lake Gichigumi. So I got this as a memento. And I'm trying to think there's anything else from his gym that was, that we haven't touched on. But, I mean, you got, like all these. It was, it was also a very fun tour. I feel like we got to goofing around a lot, too, you know.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Yep. Yeah. Yeah, that was, I mean, like all these. you're going to have to make sure to watch it. But yeah, he's got a sweet gym. Also supporting member, you've got to help him decide on his, he's not a certified training facility yet. He's waiting to figure out the name,
Starting point is 01:14:26 so you have to watch it and help him decide what the name of his gym needs to be after seeing it. Yep. And then it was the Seamus's house. So it became the last stop of our Nashville journey. And, you know, frankly, Shamis is pretty famous so it's like a little nervous going to
Starting point is 01:14:46 Shamuses because like well we don't want to screw this up right like I want this to be we also like starting to get kind of tired here you know it's been a crazy at this point about like 30 hours yes with this minimal rest so it's like okay really got to have the A game got to have this all put together and yeah you know luckily he's got a sweet gym he's a professional that knows how to be on camera
Starting point is 01:15:08 do the whole thing so I don't know to me it went pretty damn good from my angle, Tanner. I don't know how you felt about it, but awesome too. I think that ends up, I think it probably ends up being about a 40 minute tour. Yeah, I think it was right around there. And it's a really good 40 minutes.
Starting point is 01:15:25 It's he loves lifting and loves his home gym and stuff, so that's kind of, you know, the first qualifiers right there. Part of the fun part of, you mentioned it too, we gave him the drink spotter and he was genuinely pumped about the drink spotter. I don't know if there's been anyone more excited to receive a surprise drink spotter.
Starting point is 01:15:41 than Seamus. He was jacked for that thing. Calling in his family for everyone to see you to drink spot. Check the stuff. And I would say, you know, as a personality that people know from WWE, of course, behind the scenes, Seamus was awesome too, you know, just like her super nice. You always wonder like, oh, what are these people like, you know, actually?
Starting point is 01:16:06 And he was, he was awesome. It was just like basically anyone that we go to do. a gym tour with in that way. Yeah. And he, you know, being a veteran of the WWE, has a lot of good stories and just perspective on. He's like, oh, I'm like wrestling with kids now. I'm 48 and I'm like wrestling with guys that are 21. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:28 It's just hearing him tell some of these stories was pretty crazy. And, you know, obviously, just being on Monday Night Raw two nights before also. But yeah, it was a sweet gym tour. And also. You know, we always, every time we do a gym tour, this little inside talk here for how we do these, we do the whole gym tour.
Starting point is 01:16:47 And then when it's done, we kind of recap how the tour went, what we talked about. And that's how we decide what the talking to the camera intro part that Tanner does. You know, so we have a pretty good idea what that's going to be going into it. But, you know, just. Once we've actually done the tour,
Starting point is 01:17:02 then we refine what were the highlights of the actual tour. Yeah. So it's today we're at so-and-so's gym. He's got a great selection of this. this, this and this. We're going to check this out. You know, let's get the tours of something like that. And then from there, I'll know what we talked about and I'll get the B roll to finish up.
Starting point is 01:17:19 And that's typically how our shooting schedule goes. And, you know, if it's also the hardest part. It's the hardest part. Yep, because it's got to be precise. Punchy. It's got to be exciting. Have a little bit of a hook and also get the point across and also be fun, you know, be something that makes people want to watch the rest of the video.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And a lot of times for gyms, it's just Tanner talking to the camera. sometimes if it's someone of notoriety, we might have them on the camera with us. In the case of shame, occasionally it could be a skit. Right, yeah, we've done a little skit thing before too. But in the case of shame is like,
Starting point is 01:17:53 essentially what we're doing is cutting a little promo for this video. And it's like, well, as a WWU wrestler, that's like 50% of your job is to cut these promos. And so that's basically what we said is like, yeah, usually what we do is Tanner talks to the camera and hypes up what's about to take place. but, you know, you're Seamus. You're the professional.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Can you do this? He's like, oh, yeah, yeah. What do you want me to do? And we're like, well, we usually just say like, you're going to run, you know, we're going to talk about this in the gym, you know, check it out, do this whole thing. And he's like, yeah, I got this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's basically like, yeah, yeah, here we go.
Starting point is 01:18:28 And he pretty much looked at the camera, did his whole thing, kind of gave it the fella, the wink. The banger. Yeah, like walked away. And I'm like, dude just nailed it first try like you know we said we need about 30 seconds i think it ended up being like 28 just without missing a beat stumbling anything i'm like all right yep these guys know what to do these guys get it this is awesome it was impressive actually you know honestly like in person it was pretty it was pretty impressive yeah that's i can i can honestly that's the first time we've had
Starting point is 01:19:00 i mean you don't ever tell someone to just talk to the camera unless they regularly do it because it's so hard to do like oh it's hard we do it um decent bit and it's still hard to it's not easy like sometimes if you're watching us you'd watch and be like wow that was pretty you know you'd even be like well those guys are pretty good at that sometimes you'd watch and be like yeah that that was rough
Starting point is 01:19:22 you know because it doesn't it's and if you fuck it up a little bit it just gets harder and harder and harder it does it does it's like this snowball effect where you mess one word up and then you just can't say that word ever again because like like two sides of the coin when we did Anans. I did it in one take and I was like, I was like, that was good. Like, it was like, that was really good. I'm like, oh, I'm like, that's maybe the fastest Tanner's ever done one. Like it was effortless. And you have, the big one is when you don't have any
Starting point is 01:19:52 ums or ahs or pauses. Because it's really easy to do that. And when you only have, you know, like a short amount of time, you don't want to be peppering in about a bunch of these extra words because it's, it just doesn't sound as polished and refined. Right. And, uh, yeah, like you nailed his but when we went to, when we did Seamus, it was just like, here you go, man, and he just understands your assignment. I think it was maybe like when we did Jake, Jake the snake,
Starting point is 01:20:17 Hyden Strength, when we did there, two, or one of those ones on that day. I'll say the one I remember that was hard for you was the Cessneys. The Cessneys, that one took you. That one was bad. And it wasn't even like, we didn't know what to say. It was just like, ah, did I already say that? Do I say this again?
Starting point is 01:20:31 Like, am I saying that the right way? Just kind of like get the yips, then you're like, well, because sometimes it's like, everything I'm saying sounds stupid. it all of a sudden. Right. And then you're like, well,
Starting point is 01:20:39 are we, do we even have the right angle on here? Like do we mention DIY? Do we say power? Do we talk about equip lifting in the intro?
Starting point is 01:20:45 That's, you start just second guessing everything and all of a sudden this 20 second intro is now like many, many, many, takes and minutes to get it down. It's maybe getting better the more of those we've done.
Starting point is 01:20:55 I think it is. I think it is. You know, it's like we did Gunners. Gunners was kind of a, like it's the hardest part. Sometimes it's also the funest part of like, oh,
Starting point is 01:21:04 what are we going to do for the intro like because Gunners is kind of cool. Yeah, yeah. But even on my end, too, is like, he's to be like, oh, what do I shoot for B-roll here? And I'd, like, way overshoot because I just wasn't sure.
Starting point is 01:21:16 And now that we've done this enough, I'm like, oh, no, I know when he says this, I need to do this. And I know here in this part, we're going to cut to this. And it's just like, that part's, that whole process has gotten so much smoother. You shoot the B-roll in, like,
Starting point is 01:21:27 five minutes or something. Pretty much. Usually we're, like, I even just don't even realize what's going on because at that point, then we're just chatting with whoever we toured with. and then you're shooting. I know I need these wide shots. They usually look good from this angle and like,
Starting point is 01:21:43 okay, and then in the intro you mentioned this rack, this piece of equipment. So I'll shoot that a couple different angles quick. And yeah, it's gotten a lot. I'm just more sure of like what I shoot. I know I can make it work where I used to just be like, oh, I don't know how this is going to work. So let's just get like 50 B roll clips.
Starting point is 01:21:58 And then when you go to do it, you can only use 10 because there's only enough time for it. So I've just gotten more efficient there. And not that our earliest tours were even bad. and some people would possibly never even notice some of the subtle differences, but I do feel like what we've developed into that it's become more and more polished that you watch it now, and you're like, it's like watching a little 40-minute show here, you know, like, that's what it should be. Yeah, I mean, like most recent, you know, as far as this goes, Brandon's tour.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Like, I'm like, that one's great. He's on there. And that's when you pretty much got first try to. I mean, it might have taken actually like two or three, but it was, it was fairly effortless. And yep, the B-roll, I think all looks awesome. Like, it gives you a really good. idea of what you're getting into with his gym. Brandon had a funny little thing to add on at the end too.
Starting point is 01:22:40 And like that's just a good example of how you do it right. Right. Seamus's was our last one. Then it was off to the airport, right? It was up to the airport where we hadn't ate all because that day started so early. It was before a hotel breakfast. So we just had to get a sandwich at Starbucks, which I don't like to do. Ultimately, the annoying thing about that is because we ended up with
Starting point is 01:23:07 then the last minute schedule change, we could have eaten the breakfast in the hotel room. Yep, that sucks. Yeah, that's where that sucks. And it's not anyone's fault, but it's like,
Starting point is 01:23:17 yep, in a perfect world, we would have just had that extra 20 minutes to actually be there and eat breakfast, but they weren't open yet, so we couldn't. And so at this point, yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:25 I don't know, what did we get to the airport at, like 2 o'clock or something? Yeah. It's finally time to eat. And we go to this place and they have this, like, giant, what do they call it,
Starting point is 01:23:34 like, barbecue board or something? something. Yeah. And it says serves two to three and we're like, ah, it's probably not going to be like that much food. Right. But we got it.
Starting point is 01:23:45 We're like, ah, we'll just split it and see how it goes. And we got it. And there's all these different, you know, brisket and pork and cornbread and sausages. And I mean, it was really good. It was really, really good. But you got done and you're like, I think I could just eat a whole one of those myself again. And I'm like, I feel like I could too. But we were also about to hop on the planes.
Starting point is 01:24:02 There wasn't time to eat more. Like, well, we're going to land off. We're going to get out this plane ride in two hours. we'll see it again in Dallas, because that's where our connection was. So we get to Dallas. We get to our gate, looking at what the options are for food.
Starting point is 01:24:16 And the last time, I just, we don't, I like Italian food. We just never really go to Italian restaurants ever. And not that there's a ton to pick from even, but we just never really make our way there. And I was like, I think the last time I had Italian food was like one of our trips
Starting point is 01:24:31 in a few months ago. And I'm like, it was really good in the airport. I think we should do that again. So we go get this Italian food. and it came out and it was tasty, but the portions were very small, especially for Italian.
Starting point is 01:24:43 The portions sucked. Yeah, they were not up to snuff. It was not good enough. And we got done eating. You're like, I could just eat again. I'm like,
Starting point is 01:24:52 yeah, me too. Should we just go eat again? And so we signed the checkoff there, walked to the next part next to the gate, which was the Mexican food, and then sat down and we're like, well,
Starting point is 01:25:02 I could get something small. It's like, well, but we just have never been satisfied. So we just got a whole other, We both did like the taco bowl. You know what else was funny? Because we had walked by the Mexican place before we picked the Italian place
Starting point is 01:25:14 and the waitress had like offered us to come in that first time. We don't go. We go to the Italian place. We come back an hour later. And she's like, oh, you guys decided to come here eventually after all? And I was just like, yep, yep, we just decided to come here. This isn't just our second meal in the last 10 minutes now. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:30 So we sat down, had our taco bowls. And then we're like, yep, could still even eat more. This still just isn't enough enough. Still was not full. Like I hadn't been full in like two days. I'm like, I desperately just want to feel not hungry at all again. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:49 You know what I mean? Like, I know. Just like really, really satisfied, you know. Yeah. Didn't get there.
Starting point is 01:25:55 It's like we're out of food. It seems like it shouldn't work this way, but it's like we couldn't like crawl our way out of this food deficit hole from getting like two meals a day. No, we couldn't. Oh. Just listen to the dog hack back here.
Starting point is 01:26:09 You can't hear it on. But, uh, microphone. Yeah, have that have our Mexican food hop on the plane. And at this point, it's like someone had drugged me. I could not stay conscious at all. It was just like in this crazy, just days of not knowing what the hell's going on, where we're at. It was, it was a very odd like two hour plane ride of sort of sleeping, but not totally asleep. You know how airplane sleep goes, but...
Starting point is 01:26:38 Yeah. Then we landed and you hit the road and got a little three-hour trip down the road. You said I back to work today. I'm not traveling yet. I'm just only begun. And then here we are now recording and spent a hell of a ride for the last week of Massonomics. All positive, though. All positive.
Starting point is 01:27:02 Yeah. All really good. Yeah. It's all just stuff. there's a lot of shit going on. Like that's what it is. And it's that way because things are going good. So.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Well, speaking of shit going on, like it probably's worth, we probably do need to talk about it this episode because it's probably more relevant this week than next week. Isn't it the Jujifu video that's going to come out? Yes. Or am I?
Starting point is 01:27:27 Yep, because that should come out as of recording this tomorrow, right? Isn't that we said? Right. Right. So it sounds like we've actually got to seen it. We got to see it. the director's cut of uh juji mufu and brian shaw's grip training video at jujifu's house and people
Starting point is 01:27:40 might not know what's going on here right now even like right you got you got a message out of the blue was it about a week ago yeah yeah yeah tannan was gets a message from juji which is also he's just asking me a bunch of questions about the horse we said we he had a horse stall mat gripper i don't know that he'd really used it much yet and he had a lot of questions about the record board about the rules and all this stuff and i'm like oh sweet he's going to use the he's going to try, do it and maybe, you know, try and get himself on the board or something is what I assumed. He wanted to record a lift. And then what was the timeline?
Starting point is 01:28:15 I got a message from him later and he's like, oh, I noticed I was going to buy a horse stall Matt gripper and I noticed you're out of stock. When are you getting more? Actually, we're in the process of making them right now. I just brought him to my garage like today and I just, I have to put them together. it takes a while and I don't you know I've started to put them together but assemble them and he's like uh how fast can you do that and I'm like well if this all why what's go what's the deal and he's like well I first of all I gave mine away to someone and second of all we've got a video coming up it's going to be pretty cool and we broke some records and you should get that resty
Starting point is 01:29:05 And I was like, oh, this all sounds very good. And I'm like, what the hell's going on? He's like, well, Brian was here. And we, you know, we, uh, we filmed a bunch of videos. And one of the videos is the horse doll Matt Gripper, a dedicated video for it. I'm like, oh, great. Yes. We will have those in stock.
Starting point is 01:29:22 Yes. So that's coming out tomorrow. I mean, by the time this, by the time you're hearing this, the video's already been out presumably. And yeah. And he sent us the link. He sent us the link to the video, you know, so we got to see it ahead of time here. and it's it is good and it's kind of like a infomercial for the grip for the horse
Starting point is 01:29:40 on that gripper so you watched it all yeah yeah yeah uh it sure seems so brian broke the single hand record yeah sure seems like he could do a lot more than what he did what he even said he's like we're just going to leave it there for now and see who can break it and then uh give me a reason to do more i i'm like it seems like there's a lot more there yes a lot more like he just definitively yanked that thing up and held on to it for a while longer than he needed to. But double hand, double hand was a little different story. Well, maybe you need to watch the video. Yeah, you got to watch the video.
Starting point is 01:30:17 You got to watch it. And Juji does a big double hand one. And then also Brian, Juji's cameraman was in on them. I mean, they were all, they were all putting up big numbers. They were all putting up big numbers. I couldn't definitive. Oh, because Brian, Brian, I'm saying Brian again, but Brian Jujy Mufu's cameraman. We kind of know Brian from doing stuff with them over the years, too.
Starting point is 01:30:37 He was in there doing it. And then Brian's cameraman James was also, but I couldn't definitively peg what their best numbers were based on the video. It was hard to tell. Yeah. And also they were doing like 25 pound jumps, which is enormous for the horse doll net gripper. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Yeah. It's a fun video, though, and it's fun seeing Brian. You know, Brian's got a lot. I don't even know. We could cut like seven Instagram videos off. that because there's so, you know, so much commentary about this gripper and how it's kind of fun.
Starting point is 01:31:09 And it's kind of goofy. And it's so funny because, you know, we've been around it. So we know all of the logic and the reasoning and the things people say about it. And it's just funny to hear another group of people go through the same process. And I've seen so many people logic it. Because it's not like, I mean, every grip event is maybe like that a little bit. But this one's so extreme. There's so many variations of technique because, you know, Brian's,
Starting point is 01:31:33 even talking about it. You know, the way he analyzed things. Like, oh, it's the dots. And, you know, he talks about the same thing. Everyone comes to eventually, he's like, well, I almost want to go like three rows down on the dots because that's too far. And two rows isn't far enough. I need like, you know, and I'm like, yeah, that's.
Starting point is 01:31:51 That right. People talk about all that stuff. It's in the touch with Brian, Brandon Doyle here. He'll straighten you out in a hurry. Yes. So a fun, cool video, though. I'm excited for that to come. out. I think we should wrap this up. We got other segments and stuff, but I think we should bring her in.
Starting point is 01:32:11 I think that's fine. Let's bring it in. I would mention again, be on the lookout for that Black Friday drop coming. Also be on the lookout for the gym tours. You know, we talked about basement brandons that came out this week. Awesome gym tour. Fricking fun, freaking blast. Frickin' frickety frick. Bucketless gym tour for me, for us getting to do Brandon's. Absolutely. You know, falling along with him forever. He's one of the OGs and adding that one to the list is so cool. I feel like our resume of gym tours or our catalog of gym tours. I mean, we are the gym tour guys. We talked about this before.
Starting point is 01:32:49 Like eventually at some point we're, we are the gym tour guys, I think. Like, Massonomics is the gym tour channel. It's the best one. Do we know which one's coming out next week? I know we have a schedule. I think it's a Voltra one with Brandon, right? Oh, yeah, that's right. So yeah, during Thanksgiving week and that's actually going to put that out on on black Friday, I think, instead of Thursday, which is Thanksgiving. So then after that, back to some gym tours again. And there will be the Rory music video as well. The Rory music video will come up.
Starting point is 01:33:19 I'm excited for that to come out on YouTube because then it'll just be really nicely accessible for me whenever I want to listen to it. Pop that on in the gym or whatever else are doing. Yep. Play it at crew falls. Which also, by the way, as a as a. of the time of listening to this. We're about... Two weeks?
Starting point is 01:33:39 Yeah, I mean, less than two weeks out from crew falls, like 12 days out from crew falls. So there's still time to get signed up and come and have an amazing time. Yeah. Crew Falls. I think there's 40-some people signed up right now. It doesn't cost you.
Starting point is 01:33:56 You know, there's not an... You can sign up on our website. That's so we can have a head count, know who to expect, who to send out an SOS signal for if you don't show up. after you sign up, but get signed up just so we know, can have an idea who's coming, who to watch for,
Starting point is 01:34:10 and the more the merrier. Tis the season, it's really going to be a December to remember this year. There's no doubt about that. Yes, it is. Really hop on the Black Friday drop as early as possible. If you're a supporting member, get in on the early release. Some of the things are going to sell out. The free magnet packs are cool.
Starting point is 01:34:30 Free Kuzi, of course, incentivized there to get in before that stuff runs out. and there should be a few things on sale, even, that you can check out. Okay. Is that everything for this one? I think so. Jam-packed episode for an hour and a half long episode. I mean, I feel like it just came-er-after-banger. It was just coming one thing after another.
Starting point is 01:34:53 Yeah. We got a lot of things on the list here that we haven't discussed yet. Oh, we got an episode's worth of stuff to talk about, honestly, right here on the list that we didn't even get to.
