Starting point is 00:02:17 you've had yours for what? Tommy, breaking news. I literally ordered strength co plates today. So relevant to this ad. I just, I put my money where my mouth is.
Starting point is 00:02:27 I just purchased like a thousand dollars worth of strength co plates today. Hell yeah. Because once you have one, you can't stop, right? That's, or your case. Once you have 6,000,
Starting point is 00:02:36 you can't have, can't stop there, can you? I've got a fever and the only, only cure is more strength co plates more easy to grip iron be like tanner head on over to the strength dot co buy yourself what's that what's that set caught is that a thousand bucks for like the 450 set what do we got here what did you get here i want to know 995 set that's what is the or what is the the 375 set is that what you got 375 set literally purchased that today yep 645s 225s 410s 2 5s 2 2 2 2 and a half
Starting point is 00:03:10 I think you can get strong with that. Yeah, don't forget, you need two tens. Yeah. You need two tens. Yep. Got to have those two pairs you're saying. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Sorry, four tens. Yeah. So when he said, four ten, the shotgun. Got a double it. Hashtag shotgun. Yeah. Get some for yourself at the strength. Dot co.
Starting point is 00:03:33 All right. Thank you, the strength co. Can't wait to get my more of my maiden America iron. More on what the heck I'm doing with strength coat, more strength co plates. later. How's that for a teaser? Just collecting. I'm not not.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Starting that string-co plate wall you've always talked about. It's a vintage wall, except it's not vintage and there's not a variety of plates. It's all just string-co plates. That would still look cool. It would look really good. Grant should really have like one of those in the warehouse. He should build my wall and just put it all. He should build a-
Starting point is 00:04:05 All-Stranco, yeah. That looks sweet. Yeah, he should build a wall like mine and like even like triple the size and it's just all stranko plates. That would look really cool. And taking pictures in front of that and stuff would be really cool. Like all you could see. Or as a podcast backdrop, you know, anything.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yes. All that. Kind of an expensive backdrop, but worth it. Well, when you own the company, it's not that expensive. And can you put a price on marketing? No. Can't. No one can.
Starting point is 00:04:28 It's nobody's ever done that. No one's ever done that. No one's ever put a budget to that. No idea. Really big breaking news. With tonight's game, the third annual Milf, Massonomics intern league for fantasy football has commenced. We are in the process.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Week one is the drafts have all taken place. Big update this year. I don't know if you were aware last year. We split into varsity and junior varsity divisions. I remember that. And the top four from the B squad got to move up to play with the big boys. Oh, there's four that made the cut. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah. Because there's 12 in each league. So the top third moves up. The bottom third moves up. move got relegated. Yep, yep. Because they're pathetic losers. So they moved down.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Here's the catch this year. There's a third league. So now there's an A, B, and C. There's a third league of 12. They're multiplying. So the, like for the B league of the 12 teams, actually only four of them will stay because the top four are going to move up this year. The bottom four are going to move down.
Starting point is 00:05:39 So someone might have been an A last year. They moved to B this year. They might be in C next year. Right. Keith is well on his way. Keith, for example, he got relegated to B team this year. I think he made the comment. If I get moved down to C, I'm just quitting.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I'm forfeiting my team. So when you say he's well on his way, you're like, is you feeling this bad about his prospects for this year? Is it looking rough? Yeah. Yeah, Keith and Dodds both moved out. I don't know. So our draft took place.
Starting point is 00:06:07 And for anyone that's new to the Massonomics podcast, I give in-depth weekly analysis of our fantasy football leagues. This is a fantasy football podcast for the next 18 weeks here, 20 weeks. Because if anyone doesn't know, the only thing that's more fun than doing your own fantasy football league is listening to other people talk about their fantasy football. I look forward to this part of the year all year. I just can't wait to hear Tanner go in-depth. I feel like I drew an insanely, I feel like there's collusion against me.
Starting point is 00:06:40 me because again this year like last year I'm in chris marks division the really two-time champion yeah and I'm going against him week one and and I'm I think I've been like point leader one or both of the years so I think they're in on it trying to pit us against each other could be yeah I think that that's what's going on I think you're right that would make sense I just want to the I joke about updating people in their face football but I do usually like to go through if there's any good names yeah now I don't have access to B and C League. I'd love to get their names and see if there's anything we want to add about that. But for at least for the A league, the big dogs, we've got, of course,
Starting point is 00:07:20 the Averdeen Central Golden Eagles, the two-time reigning champions. Got to have them. Me, the Western Northeast, South Dakota, Fessons. We've got a Ramcota, Ramcota Rattlers team. Nice. Like that one. Let's see what else we got. Let's see. Lift hard, flush harder. Very good.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Druthers of destruction. Randy's invisible quads. The Sillyhawks. So there's a variety of relevant names in there. I can only imagine what's in the other leagues. Some real heavy hitters. Yeah. I mean, their names are probably worse.
Starting point is 00:08:00 We know they're worse at fantasy football. They're probably also worse at coming up with names. Okay. I think Jake shared it for us. see if there's anything Barry Masonomics related. Nothing too regional or anything.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Yep, I knew it. Yeah, gonna have to up those names for next year. Dodzilla Hall of Fame number one. That's actually, give them props on that one. That's fair. Jeff's no PPR in the jungle.
Starting point is 00:08:35 10 cents a day. J.O.D. That's pretty good. 10 cents a day. I like that one. The master nots in there. Kevin's is the masternots. Okay, I get that.
Starting point is 00:08:45 10 cents a day I like. That's a thinker. That's the cost of a $3 per month Massanemic supporting membership. Excellent name. Props. That's enough on fantasy football until next week, of course, where we go full in depth.
Starting point is 00:09:00 A deep recap of week one. Full analysis of my fantasy football team. Week one madness. I did get the next. number one pick and I didn't do tons of research on fantasy football. What? I would say this.
Starting point is 00:09:19 When I used to play fantasy football, if I walked in as unprepared as I was now, because at the time I did it, you had to go up, it was in person and you had to get a sticker off a piece of paper and go up there and put the name on, I would be the biggest dumbass in the room because I would go up and be like,
Starting point is 00:09:34 I don't know who these names are. And I don't know which freaking person is even like, I don't even know who's the unanimous number one selection here. Like I had the first pick and if it was in person and all you had was names on a sheet and like not this automatic ranking, I'd be like, oh my God. They don't even know like 10% of these names. But with modern technology makes it pretty hard to do really bad because they tell you, you know, it's, I would be embarrassed of myself though if I was, didn't have that.
Starting point is 00:10:10 when it comes around. I'd be terrible too. I mean, do you, do you know who the, like, kind of the, who I picked number one, who kind of turned out in my five minutes of, uh, uh, research was like, okay, this is who I see. I don't even know on fantasy, though. Do you want to pick a, right, a quarterback as your number one? No, not typically, depending on the league rules, it's usually, historically it always used to be a running back.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Now it's a running back, potentially a receiver. Okay. Nope, I'd have no idea. Do you know who the D. Detroit Lions running back is. You know his name. No, I don't. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Jemir Gibbs. No. That's the, yeah. And you like football and you're a Vikings fan. That's the division. I just can't, there's too many names. There's so many people on rosters and like running backs play for like five good years.
Starting point is 00:11:06 That's I'm saying. If you're lucky. They do. And then also, if you watch college football, there's a whole set of college names you have to remember, and those just completely change every year now. Also, along those lines, actually. They don't even stay at the same college.
Starting point is 00:11:19 That's what I'm saying. They just switch, like now the announcers, they just, every person they follow up is, oh, the transfer from so-un-so, like, that's how they introduce people now. Do you see the South Dakota native making a debut this week on college football? Um, no, who, what? Well, they're just trying to rack my, I was just slow to answer because I just wondered if I did know and I can't actually.
Starting point is 00:11:45 There's this little place called Louisville. Have you heard of this place before? Woolville. I'm going to be a little fan for football this, this season, I think. Cardinals? What's it? Yeah, yeah, Lincoln is it, I don't even know how you say his name, Kynholes. Oh, is that the quarterback? Yeah, he was the one from Pierre. That's where he went. Well, he was at Ohio, but he was always the backup at Ohio. And finally he said, Now I'm going to Louisville. And I watched the game. And the first half was kind of,
Starting point is 00:12:15 it wasn't looking too hot. The second half, I'm like, dude, this guy is the real deal. They played against Ole Miss, who has like this potential Heisman quarterback. And like,
Starting point is 00:12:23 nope, he looks just as good as him, if not better. And was there something with an Ole Miss fan in the stands that went viral? I don't know. I saw it on Facebook. Anyone in the chat?
Starting point is 00:12:34 Can you sound off in the chat if there was a, uh, Ole Miss fan that went viral. There could have been. I don't know football fans around here that someone will know something about it. What is it? Jake said Tommy calling Ohio State Ohio. Well, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:56 So, okay, sorry, Ohio State, yes. I know he was at Ohio State, but sorry. Yes. Yeah. So, yeah, he's from Pierre then,
Starting point is 00:13:03 right, the capital city. Yep. Not Pierre for anyone listening along at home. Not Pierre. No. Okay. So are you going to be a Louisville,
Starting point is 00:13:10 you're going to be a Louisville fan. You know, I'm trying to watch him when they're on. He was, really fun to watch. He was making plays looking like the real deal. He had like. And so then he'll have a good season and then he's going to go transfer to, you know, he's going to transfer. Probably not to Ohio State. He's going to go then, you know, somewhere in the SEC. Right. Or other big 10 school somewhere. Right. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Okay. That's enough football talk. Okay. That's enough sports for now. We do need to, this, the week that this comes out, we are headed on a big home gym tour tour to, no, we haven't announced this officially to the masses. That's right. We're headed to the southwest. Does anyone playing along at home? We're headed to the, do you know what number largest city in the United States we're going to? Oh.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Is it in the top 10? It is in the top 10. Is it 10? Higher. Really? Eight? Higher. What?
Starting point is 00:14:19 Yeah. Five? I think it's, I think five. It's either fourth or fifth. I think five. Really? I think it depends on the, what day you look at. That actually surprises me.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah. That's threw me off too. I didn't realize that. Yes. Burnin playing along at home, it's we are headed to Phoenix. One of the top five largest cities in the United States. Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:14:40 What do you find in? on number. So I'm looking here. Oh, yeah, this says number five-ish. Yep. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I want to quiz me if I can name all top 10. Yep, let's see. Top 10 largest cities. Number one. New York City. Number two. Los Angeles. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Number three. Number three, Chicago. Yeah. See, that's what I would have got those three, no problem. Number four, I definitely would have missed. All right. I'm not going to be able to do, we're saying Phoenix is five.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I'm not going to be able to do. would do the order. Okay, that's fine. Yeah, that's fine. Okay. So Phoenix is one of them, so I got four total. Dallas. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Houston. Yes. Here's one. Fort Worth. Yeah, actually. Fort Worth. Yes. So I got seven so far.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Yes. Okay. Not San Francisco. Is. they're another Texas city, San Antonio. Yes. So that's eight. I think I'm done in Texas.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Austin's not on the list. And I already said Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth. So I have two left. I've only named Los Angeles from California. San Francisco is not on the list. Is it San Diego? San Diego. That is correct.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Okay. So that's nine. You're missing one. What number am I missing on the list? Number six. Number six. I'm trying not to look at the Discord. I don't,
Starting point is 00:16:19 um, I just got, actually I just looked and I got spoiled. I know what it is. Adam said it. It's Philly. Yep. You're right.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Yeah. That's it. I don't know if I was going to get to that right away or not. I know it's, I know, Philly's right though. When I see that, I know it's Philly.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I would have not gone with Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Dallas all being in the top 10. Well, I'm cheating a little bit because I, like a few weeks ago, I saw a reel that because I just so I'm recalling something I saw from like two weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:16:53 It's how I knew that Phoenix was in the top five because it's when we were starting to plan this trip and then like that same day I saw this reel and I'm like well we're headed to Phoenix. That's number five. That's crazy. One I would have never got on the list is I wouldn't have thought that Fort Worth like that one stood out to me the most that I'm like, well of course Dallas, but I didn't realize Fort Worth is also in the top 10. Even San Antonio. That one surprises me too. I've never been to either one, but it just like I would think, no, there's going to be one city in Florida that makes the cut here. But yeah, Miami, I guess is what would be
Starting point is 00:17:28 the guest or Jacksonville potentially. Just something like that, you know. Yeah. And then just in my head, without even knowing the numbers, I'd been like, oh yeah, San Francisco belongs in there for sure is what I would have thought. Yeah, I'm cheating because I saw this. I watched a reel of this list not too long ago. So that's why I could, because that's why I said, oh, San Francisco's not in there because that's when I remember thinking, oh, San Francisco has to be. And they're like, nope, not San Francisco. All right. Well, if you know so much, what's the biggest city in the world then, huh? Yeah, it's, I actually do know this. Let me guess you saw a reel on this one too, huh? I did. I did. Oh, God. This threw me off too because it's not, it's not like Beijing and Hong Kong.
Starting point is 00:18:14 that stuff like I thought. And it's not, what's the big one in Japan? It's not that either. It's, God, doesn't start with a K? No,
Starting point is 00:18:23 I'll give you a hint. Do you want a hint? Yeah. obscure hint. This name of this, the name of the city was featured in a Jackie Chan movie. Oh,
Starting point is 00:18:36 I do know it too. And I'm not saying I would know this, but it's because I watched it in a real. Does it start with a G? Mm-mm. And it doesn't start with a K. K. For some reason I keep thinking K. Oh.
Starting point is 00:18:52 J. Does it start with a J? No. Oh. God dang it. Jakarta. It's Jakarta. No. Yeah, I think it is Jakarta. Really? Look again. I think it's Jakarta. Oh, this says number 12 on this list. It changes insane. I think Jakarta's the big, because in the real I saw Jakarta is growing so insanely rapidly. I might be wrong. That's why I was thinking K because I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:19:17 of the K in the middle. I'm pretty sure it's Jakarta because it's growing so fast. Well, I don't know. I guess it depends on if they're, I guess it depends on if they're counting a city or like a metro area. Like I can't find Jakarta like the best I can see is like number five on the list. Like if I just Google is Jakarta the biggest city in the world, AI overview, take that for what it's worth. Yes, Jakarta is officially the largest and most populous urban area in the world with a population of nearly 42 million. I think it's what I saw in that real was Jakarta. And then I actually did this whole thing because I was quizzing my wife on this later.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And like I googled it. And I was like, oh, Jakarta's like sixth on this list. And every time I found a new list, it was way like vastly different. Yeah. The first three lists I had did not have it. It had Shanghai like in all of them. And that's why I said I'm like, because isn't Shanghai one of the ones I said that I think it's not because I don't even know remember things because that one is my first
Starting point is 00:20:22 guess when I like watched that at the time would have been you know a Shanghai or something like that all right well learning stuff well are are we though because like after what you've seen do you think it's Jakarta or not I don't know I would actually have to look into it I mean yeah yeah AI overviews obviously don't work and suck right so that's why I'm like don't take The article made it seem like, yes, it was when I was like, well, what's, what's, I'm curious if I do this, because I typed in, is Jakarta the biggest city in the world? If I just erased Jakarta and what was the one you saw on your first list? And if I just type Shanghai, does AI overview also tell me like, uh, yes, it is Shanghai. This one says no.
Starting point is 00:21:09 And then it says like, no. It says not on this one. I don't know. I think it seems to be up for debate. No one knows. What? The stat on that I saw was Jakarta's growing so significantly, though, and if that's the case, maybe there's a lot of lists out there that are outdated.
Starting point is 00:21:27 That could very easily be it, yeah. Or maybe AI has, maybe it's just all a false. Because all the pages I look were actually, they were actually old GeoCities pages from the early 2000s, so they're probably out of date now that I think about it. Well, I think Mexico City at one point in time was the large, it was the most populated, and I don't think it's even in the top 10 anymore. Yeah, it is surprisingly big, though.
Starting point is 00:21:50 It still shocks me that that city is as big as it actually is. Yeah. All right. Great geography. Any other brain busters? I've been watching quite a few geography reels. I got into this geography reel. So there's, if we got any, there's a chance I might know.
Starting point is 00:22:07 A chance you've ran across it. Only because of that. Actually, what's, what I found is I'm like, it is really easy to be shockingly bad at this. Well, what do you mean? shockingly bad at what? Just like when I watch questions to be like, wow, it's crazy how little geography I know. Oh, I thought you're saying shockingly bad at making reels that actually have facts in them. No, no, like how bad I can even like it's just, how about this? What do you think the population of Asia is? Well, okay, these are just, I don't even really consider these geography. These
Starting point is 00:22:41 are like numbers. Yeah. Like these are trivia number games. But because the way a lot of these work is They'll poll a bunch of people and how insanely far off people can be. Okay. Is India, yes. India isn't, okay. I mean,
Starting point is 00:22:55 is it like, I don't know, is the population of Asia like two billion? It's like five billion. Oh, it is five billion. Oh, damn.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Yeah. Of the like seven point something of the earth, I think. Wow. Something like that. That's a lot of people. They'll ask that and people will say like 10 million. Ah,
Starting point is 00:23:14 well. And answers like that. Because people don't know any number. Like once a number. Right. Over like 500,000. It doesn't even make sense of people anymore. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:23:24 How many countries in the world are there? Can you get within 10? Well, that's hotly debated, I believe. Right, that's why I say we'll give a 10 swag either direction. Is it like 116 or something like that? I thought it's like 196. Oh, 196. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I'm not positive on that. That's probably closer. Yeah, 116 seems a little lot. I'm basing these all off of. 180ish is. Stupid real. Yeah. Okay, that's probably more right.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Yeah. Yeah. There's five countries in the world that are a single syllable. Can you name any of them? Chad. Yep. Everyone gets that one first. Really?
Starting point is 00:24:03 And I don't know if I would. Everyone I've asked that gets Chad as the first one. There's three of the other ones that you would get if we played this. I was just saying I think of some more. I just know this is terrible podcast. This means for me to sit and think about countries. We'll leave that. But there's, yeah, it's France, Greece.
Starting point is 00:24:24 in Spain, you would have got all, like, honestly, if we would have played it long enough, you would have got France and Spain for sure. Greece you might have got. And then the fifth one is the hardest one. And I can't even remember. See, I can't remember what it is. And I didn't do what it was at one point. So, all right.
Starting point is 00:24:40 All right, enough. Actually, enough geography at this point. So we are going to Phoenix, though. In a roundabout way. That's what we're trying to say. We're doing a Phoenix gym tour trip. And we've got a whole bunch of a gym, home gyms that we're going to tour that we have scheduled there. We actually at this point have more than we can even do.
Starting point is 00:25:02 So we have to refine a couple things and finalize a few details. But a ton of home gym. Like there might be the most options and the most, well, I guess it makes sense as the fifth largest city in the world because there is so many options. I do feel a little different about that. Yeah. It's funny. How many times I've been to Phoenix?
Starting point is 00:25:22 I never like, I don't know. What did I say? My guess was like 10 or 12. Yeah. That's just in my head what it is. I don't think it feels like that big of a city for some reason. But maybe it's because I never go through like the downtown when I go there, you know? Right.
Starting point is 00:25:35 It really feels like the city part of it. Right. Maybe that's why. I don't know. Well, we're going to experience it ourselves in single digit amount of days from now. Let's hope it's not 110 degrees. It probably will be. It's a dry heat, though.
Starting point is 00:25:53 It is. You know what? today it was like 85 here and it was beautiful it was a dry heat and I'm like oh this is the nicest 85's ever felt the other day in my garage it was 83 and the humidity was 84 and I'm like this is the sweatiest I've ever been in my entire life while lifting so it is that it is that dry heat that makes the difference do we uh I mean I mean absolutely yeah like is a hundred and ten degrees even hot if it's dry probably not probably it's not coat I bet If it's dry, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Probably bring my hooky to zip up. I mean, is that even warm if it's dry? I don't even think it is. I might even bring a beanie too, actually. Is it cold? If it's so dry, does it actually, is it actually no temperature is hot? Probably. Well, we'll find out.
Starting point is 00:26:40 It's solely based on how wet it's just the wetness always. It's what holds all of the heat, the moisture. Other than that, you know, there's a reason deserts are so cold at night. I'm positive. I won't be sweating in any of these. videos that we're making. I don't think I will sweat at all either. Well, when it's that dry?
Starting point is 00:26:58 Do you even sweat when it's that dry? Like, doing a normal gym tour, I sweat, but it's because it's really humid. You know, like that's why. It's humid. Well, it's not, sometimes it's not that hot, but it's humid. So yeah, we're sweating. Do you think in like Phoenix they even sweat? Probably not for how dry it is.
Starting point is 00:27:12 No. I would guess not. Not when it's that dry. No, that level of dryness. Hell no. That's why when all those guys like Toby and them, they come up to Aberty, for the lift hard, live easy. They're like, yeah, we talk about it being hot in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:27:29 That's a dry heat. Here, way different. It's 90 and wet. Now this, you guys know hot up here in the Dakota's. You guys get it. That's what Toby said to me this year. He's like, I got to be honest with you. I never understood what they meant about a wet heat.
Starting point is 00:27:47 I get it now. You guys have it way hotter here. Yeah. Because of the community. I go back until everyone in Arizona that I know what. heat means now. Yes, and he's been spreading the message. He's like, you guys don't know how dry we've had it here.
Starting point is 00:28:02 It's just so, so dry all the time. Should we talk about the gym radar update? Are we going to save that for later? There's a very big gym radar update. Maybe we'll save that for later. We have so much shit to talk about this week. Yeah, we actually haven't done anything on the list here. So we'll have to.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Maybe for the sake of our guest, we should get on to. stuff and get him, get him up at action here. All right, good. Another person I can quiz about terrible podcasting geography topics. Okay, should I, are you going to read an ad? Should I start booting people? We'll get our guest in here. Or what are we doing?
Starting point is 00:28:44 Our supporters, sporting members? Yeah. Should I do a little supporting our supporting members? Yeah, do that. Would that be appropriate here? Okay, supporting our supporting members. It's a relatively new segment to the podcast. I think this is just the 45th time maybe that we've done this here in season two of the podcast.
Starting point is 00:29:07 What will we do is we have our supporting membership. That's what we're joking about the 10 cents a day. You can sign up to become a supporting member for as little as 10 cents a day. It seems like nothing. And to you, the listener, it's nothing. To us, the Masonomics, it's everything. Uh-huh. Because we get one million of you that all get 10 cents a day.
Starting point is 00:29:28 It's actually, if we can get one, if we can get a billion of you, it's going to be like office space. You know the take a penny leave a penny? It's like that. Only we're not even taking a penny. We're taking a fraction of a penny. It's a rounding error is all we're taking, basically, from you. It's a rounding area.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Basically. Per hour, it's a fraction of a penny. Yeah. And at the end of the day, all those fractions of a penny add up to a lot of money. And it's not stealing because to all of you, it's almost nothing. Yeah, but to us, it's a big... Worse anyways.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Right, right. One of the things we do to give back is support each of you that have things going on. Like there was a meetup. Speaking of Woolville in O'Doya Rules Basement Barbell Club, big Nate Verde, one of the crucial chains, links in the chain of the great Thomas Inch dumbbell relay of 2025. How could we forget? And Big Jakey,
Starting point is 00:30:29 Big Jakey hit a sick PR, it sounded like, when he was there too. We had, uh, this week's guest on unpaid and underrated was big Mike Erritt. And Big Brandon Doyle was on there with Keith. The three of them, that's our brady little sister podcast.
Starting point is 00:30:46 You can go give that a listen. Uh, you can also become a guest on there. That's another perk of being a supporting member is if you listen long enough, If you get involved in the community, you can potentially become a guest on their show. Or you might make it on to our drunken uncle podcast. That's, of course, half-baked thoughts on training.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Captained by Waffle Iron Gym. This week, their guest was Big Lou Nutter. They had a four-hour-plus episode that drug on. That was probably the tip of the iceberg, too. We hours of the night of Lou and Scants would sound like drinking excessively. and Waffle iron, you know, it's a must listen, I would say. Also, what else did we have this week? I don't know if you can tell by now, but I forgot to write these down like I usually do.
Starting point is 00:31:36 Just winging it, huh? I'm kind of going off the fields here. Big Troy rode his bike 100 miles in a day. It took him seven and a half hours. He did 6,500 feet of elevation. That's over a mile. My geography is right. Everything's geography to me now.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yeah, that's like going from Western Northeast South Dakota to northeast South Dakota. Yeah, I didn't realize this at the time. Belmere Fitness, they were doing a giveaway. And yeah, he wasn't sure if he could share that with us, but absolutely we like our supporting members to share stuff like that in the Mastinomics Discord. It's with Home Jim Harry's Curl Timber, another supporting member. So check out Curl Timber and check out the Belmere Fitness from Big Doogie.
Starting point is 00:32:21 away that they have going on there. That's cool. Speaking of Michael Erritt, Lift Hardly Veezy veteran, he competed at Pennsylvania's strongest competition. He won second place in the master's class, which got him an invite to USS Nationals next year.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Oh, it was his first podium in a class with more than three competitors. That's pretty sweet. Big Scar, I don't know if you notice Big Scar and Big Cody announced their newest little silliest Goose with the pink silly goose onesy courtesy of Massonomics.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Yes, congrats guys. That's very exciting. That's big news right there. I liked that their presentation of that. I hope the package arrived. I tried to wrap it nicer than normal. A little extra care. Yeah, I tried to not have it arrive looking like shit.
Starting point is 00:33:12 So hopefully that's the case. Big Joey attended the opening of Skywolf Barbel in London, Ohio with Big Steve, Big Anastasia, and some members of Big Sarnia powerlifting, of which John is also a supporting member. Anastasia and Joey both hit PRs in the Trap Bar competition with Joey hitting a 500-pound 505 deadlift on the trap bar and Anastasia hitting 231. Hot dang. Yeah. Big Nick ran his first 5K since his back surgery year ago. He said it was a little ugly, but he got her done.
Starting point is 00:33:51 as Larry the cable guy says. He got third place. Nice. Thank you to our supporting members. All right. That was a little more disjointed than normal, but I know. It's good. Do you want to do an ad?
Starting point is 00:34:07 I'll start booting people here. Yeah. This week's episode is brought to you. This is new news also. Do I have a new news button? Let me see here. Yes, Creed. Thank you for the new news.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Elite FTS, our newest sponsor of the podcast. You can check them out over at EliteFTS. We've been fans of Elite FTS, Table Talk, Dave Tate, their content, their equipment, pretty much everything that they've put out. They've lived, learned, passed on. They've passed it on to us at Massonomics. We've taken a lot of notes from Dave over the years. So much so that we decided to have them on as a sponsor of the show. You can use discount code Mass 10.
Starting point is 00:34:52 If you're purchasing anything that'll fit in a gym bag or anything that'll fit in a gym from Elite FTS, you can use a discount code mass 10, it'll likely save you 10% on most of it, even if it's, say, toilet paper, bands, chalk, any of those smaller items even, don't forget about Elite FTS. Okay. Do we have a special guest this week, Tommy? You know what? I wasn't going to tell everyone, but we do have a special guest this week. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Should I hit us everyone with little special guest music? Yeah, you can do it now. You can hit that special guest music. Is that, should I roll that beautiful? Bean footage. Yeah. Please do. Wait, what has,
Starting point is 00:35:34 what have we been using the roll the beautiful bean footage sound fight for? Is that for supporting our sporting members? Uh, I can't remember what we've been using that on now, actually. I think it's for having a special guest. Roll that beautiful bean footage.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Roll that beautiful bean footage. Oh, that feels right. You know, it's pretty fitting that you ended that with lit biscuit being where our next guest is here, Tanner. Oh. Did you know that? Did you know that Limp Biscuit is a Florida band? And we have a Florida man coming up on the podcast here.
Starting point is 00:36:11 What town in Florida are they from? Jeff, is it Jacksonville? Yeah, Jacksonville. Take you guys. We'll go to the Matthews Bridge. Take you there. What is? The actual bridge.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Okay. Did the Matthews Bridge, did that have anything to do with the Dave Matthews Band at all then? because I've heard that rumor before, but that's not accurate. No, there is a story on that. I think there's an actual story on that too, but that's, that's all fodder. That's all incorrect, right? I think it's a fabrication.
Starting point is 00:36:43 The timelines don't light up. So there is, there was a Dave Matthews incident. The Chicago bridge. I think it was in Chicago. Yes. Okay. But that was like early 2000s. And the air raid, as it's known, came out, uh, 99 or 2000 or whatever was.
Starting point is 00:36:59 It was before the incident. So, so they don't line up. So the, the, The Matthews Bridge geographically is a Jacksonville Bridge. Yes, also known as the Red Bridge or the Rust Colored Bridge. Wow. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:11 I actually never knew this. I had no idea why they said take it to the Matthews Bridge. I had no clue. Yeah. Nobody knows why they say it, but there is a Matthews Bridge. Okay. Well, so I guess everyone should know we are, this is our Limp Biscuit fact section of the podcast. We brought our Limp Biscuit expert in.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Tommy, had you ever heard the Dave Matthews story at all? Yeah. They dumped their, uh, they're in Chicago and their tour bus guide emptied the port of potty over the bridge somehow and it landed on one of those Chicago tour boats going through the city, you know, the river. But you never heard the thing that may, that that's what the Matthews Bridge was. I didn't know. No, I never heard that before.
Starting point is 00:37:48 No, no. Maybe I'm making that up. Maybe that's something I developed in my own head. Crossing your timelines. It's out there, but it's, unfortunately, inaccurate. Yeah. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Um, the real reason we have big Jeff on. Jeff. have you you've been on the mass i mean you've obviously had your voice on the podcast multiple times but did we have you on like briefly one time we were kind of workshopping uh uh an idea right yes there was i think a one of one segment of letting a supporting member on for one minute and uh i got the call and that was i think that was the last time you did that segment do you do you remember that tommy even no well i remember i know jeff's been on but i thought it was just like a call-in question thing. I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:38:31 The idea was that for supporting our supporting members instead of doing what we do every week, that some weeks we'd take a vacation a hiatus from that. And by supporting a supportive member, if they have something going on, we would
Starting point is 00:38:47 just have them on for one minute just to explain what they've got going on. And that was our supporting our supporting member segment. We did that with Jeff once. And Jeff, I got to say, it's not because you did poorly that that died. Jeff did so good and we're like, we can't do this ever again. It's just going to be downhill from here.
Starting point is 00:39:03 I do not remember this actually. I don't, surprisingly, it's not ringing a bell. Any idea, Jeff, any idea? Like, would that have been in the 300s? Do you think number-wise or? I think it would have been over 18 months ago. And I only say that because I think I was sitting when I was still at my home office doing that.
Starting point is 00:39:25 So that's the only frame of that. If I would have had to guess, I would have said it was when we were still doing podcasts in person, but maybe, maybe. No, I don't. think so. Okay. So it was somewhat recent then. Wow. Just blacked out, I guess. Yeah, for sure, Zoom. Wow. Okay. Okay. So Jeff is long time supporting member, a very long time. You're multiple time lift hardly of easy veteran. Is it three time or are you three time? Yes. Back to back to back. Okay. So you're here, two, three, and four. Correct. Okay. And you're a cup level hall.
Starting point is 00:40:01 fame member. I am. What, are you at 13? Yeah, I have to travel to one of the other events basically at this point, which is not impossible, but something. It may make also going to lift hard of easy one of those times, more challenging in one calendar year. Yes. Oh, maybe travel expenses are going to cut.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Like maybe the cost of airline travel is going to go down dramatically soon. Oh, yeah. I expect an announcement tomorrow. Yeah, hold off on those tickets. It's getting... Okay, and so, Jeff, what is your career? What do you do? Why are we going to talk to you today?
Starting point is 00:40:48 What's your background? Yeah, well, I don't know why you're going to talk to me, but my background is I'm a certified financial planner. Have been for about 10 years. I was in the business for a little bit over 10 years before that. So about five and a half years, ago, I launched my own independent financial planning firms. So I'm what you call an independent financial planner.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Excellent. Tommy, what are we going to, what are we just going to ask him general financial planning? I'm going to, maybe. Maybe we'll sneak some of it at the end. Should I have money left over at the end of the month? Should I be planning making plans financially? Yeah. What is a budget?
Starting point is 00:41:28 No. You can hire someone to help. Probably. Sure. Why not? So what started this conversation is at the Lyft Hardly Easy Classic, I saw Jeff. I said, Jeff, I got a question for you. You're the expert.
Starting point is 00:41:42 We want to get you on the podcast. And there's this, I don't know if I want to say phenomenon going on, but there's this recent trend going on of equipment companies having large banners, large buttons, large promotional checkouts on their site that say, buy now, pay now, with your HSA FSA funds and save 30% up to 30% using pre-tax dollars to buy your fitness equipment. And I haven't looked really into this at all. I don't even know much about it. But in my very limited understanding, it seemed kind of odd to me.
Starting point is 00:42:19 I didn't totally get how that worked. You know, I always thought like kind of with my limited knowledge was that like, no, like your HSA, FSA, it's like, no, you should have a note from a doctor. it should be something that's like a medical necessity. And now I'm not saying that training isn't, you know, good for your medical well-being and stuff. But it seemed like, I don't know, maybe like this crazy-ass functional trainer isn't like what like isn't actually
Starting point is 00:42:43 what the doctor ordered necessarily, you know. And so I was just wondering, Jeff, what the hell is going on with this? Explain it to me. What's going on? Yeah, yeah. I don't know, but we'll do, we'll do our best, I guess.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Can I take 10 seconds to throw a quick disclaimer out? there before we get into it. Yes, I actually meant to say, I meant to say that maybe that you might want to, I assume that's part of the, part of the process for it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we'll have a good educational discussion today, but you, the listener, I can't possibly know your situation. So, this is not direct advice. And don't do or don't not do anything without talking to somebody who knows your situation. I'm not an accountant. I don't do taxes. I'm a financial planner. I'm a big picture guy. And if you're, if you're outside of the U.S. and listening to this, we'll forget about it because I don't even know what's going on. So we're talking about
Starting point is 00:43:30 U.S. domestic accounts tax only. Yeah, there is a lot of push out there to use HSAs and FSAs for these kinds of gym equipment expenses. And like you said, Tommy, there's companies out there pushing it and saying they'll handle all the paperwork for you. And then the actual equipment companies. I've seen it on the Titan website, the road website. I think Texas power bars, you know, advertising doing it.
Starting point is 00:43:57 And where do you want to start? Should we? First. Yeah, go ahead. All right, we're going to start the very, very beginning here. Explain HSA and FSAs. Yeah. So as a typical, you know, government acronym crime, we've got two very similar acronyms that
Starting point is 00:44:12 describe similar but different things. Yeah. A lot of people are familiar with the FSA, which is flexible spending account. And that is usually attached to your health insurance plan. And it's what people call the use it or lose it account, which is why a lot of people don't like it or they're afraid to fund it or, you know, the beginning of the next year rolls around and you're buying $500 worth of band-aids because you just got to spend the money down.
Starting point is 00:44:36 It's an account where you can- Wait, wait. You don't just do that normally at the beginning of the year? Yeah, those early expenses. It's an account where you get a tax deduction for the contribution. So it is a nice tool because the idea is you are paying four-year medical expenses with pre-tax dollars. So if you're in a 25% tax bracket, there's no 25% but just for easy math. You're paying 75 cents for every,
Starting point is 00:45:00 dollar of health care that you buy through that FSA. The catch and the problem of the FSA is that if you don't use the money, there's a very limited rollover. It's about 600 bucks into the next year. Otherwise, you forfeit the money. So again, people are worried about overfunding it, rightly so. And rightly so they're kind of looking for anything they can use the money for. Well, and so traditionally pre, pre functional trainer six pulse racks, what were people
Starting point is 00:45:25 usually spending their FSAs on? I mean, prescriptions, co-pays. any kind of medical expenses. Again, a lot of over-the-counter stuff, although that was kind of reined in, or you would need, like, you know, a prescription for your over-the-counter medicine, again, because they don't want people abusing it,
Starting point is 00:45:43 you know, mixing up, mixing meth with their student fed and stuff that they bought with their Kepa. So, you know, some rules came in, but that's the gist of it. You got to pay for that out of pocket if you're going to make that. That's right.
Starting point is 00:45:54 There's no free rights here. Yeah. Okay, well, that stuff sounds way more boring. Okay, so that's the FAA. I'm an HSA guy. I've got myself an HSA. Yeah, I've heard the HSA.
Starting point is 00:46:05 A employer. Yeah, I've got an employer, uh, employer partially funded HSA. Yeah. I've got what would be considered a high deductible. Yep.
Starting point is 00:46:16 Health insurance plan that's paired with an HSA to make it less insanely unaffordable for right. Right. Right. And I do a lot of those comparisons for clients of mine that have health options. So, yeah, with the HSA, your employer might offer what's called the high deductible plan, which you mentioned Tanner, which the deductibles are higher. There's actually limits on how high they can be so they're not astronomically high. But maybe your regular plan has like a $1,000 deductible.
Starting point is 00:46:46 That's the money you have to pay out of pocket before they start sharing the cost with you. And maybe the high deductible plan has like a $4,000 or $5,000 deductible, which again, you're basically paying for all of your health care out of pocket until you clear that hurdle. But the trade-off, there's a few trade-offs, a few benefits. One is almost always lower premiums. And so when I'm looking at plans for clients, I'm looking at which are all in premium cost for the year, what's kind of the most or what's maybe a typical spend versus that deductible. And a lot of times the math does work out in favor of the high deductible plan,
Starting point is 00:47:20 even though, as you said, it feels incredibly expensive and almost like you have no coverage, like the worst coverage ever. If your premium savings monthly makes it worth it, it's worthwhile. You also have access to the HSA. And like you said, Tanner, your company might even throw some money in. So you might get a thousand bucks just for being in the plan, which offsets some of those costs. So the cool thing about the HSA, healthcare savings account, is that it's not user to lose it. You keep that money as long as you want.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Basically keep the money until you die. And there's some things that happen there. But, you know, you can keep it for many decades. You can use it if you want. we can get to some other financial planning side of things. You actually don't have to use it. I like to encourage people not to use it, which is not what the people listening to this podcast probably want to hear.
Starting point is 00:48:08 But the point is, it's not user to lose it. You can keep that money for healthcare expenses down the road. You can use it this year. There's a maximum that you can contribute to it each year. Yeah. Yeah. It depends if you're a one person plan or a family plan.
Starting point is 00:48:25 If it's a family plan, two or more people, You can put like $8,700 in the account for the year. That includes what your company might put in if they're putting money into it. So, yeah, you have these higher contribution limits. And financial planners love the HSA because we say it's triple tax advantage. You get a deduction when you put the money in. There's no tax while the money's in there. And it's tax free when the money comes out.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Most accounts, you have to kind of like pick one or the other. Do I want to get tax now or tax later? This covers it all as long as you use it for health care expenses. So it really is a nice account. I do encourage people to at least look at them. If they're available, not just kind of outright dismiss it. And then you also get the tax benefits if you do contribute to it and whatnot. So it's a nice, nice little account.
Starting point is 00:49:10 And also with it, though, people are using it as like an investment vehicle, right? Like that's the thing is you let it grow. You're not just putting money in it and doing nothing. Right. So that's right. So that's right. That's right. That's where I said, you know, you can use these for various purchases.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Maybe Jim equipment will talk about. that. But I'd like to encourage people to throw it in some investments, kind of like with their retirement account, invest the money for the future. You know, you're going to have health care and probably more expensive health care as you get older. And so it's a nice way to keep, you know, building up that reserve. But if you're not able to do that, if you're living more paycheck to paycheck or you just want to use the money, again, at least you're using those pre-tax dollars to spend on health care. So it's costing you 70 or 80 cents per dollar of health care spends. So it's pretty neat. Okay. So now that we got that base understanding,
Starting point is 00:50:02 now the trend, like I was saying, oh, you understand. We were supposed to understand that. No, I just say that to keep it moving. No, Jeff, you did very good explaining that. So the trend that I've noticed, and the one company that I feel like I see pop up more than anything is true med is who I see on a lot of this stuff. TrueMed. And it seems like, I don't know, if you want to buy anything on the internet, you can probably just buy it through true med and apparently save 30% because you can use hSA or fsa funds i feel like that's the pitch i'm getting here and i mean it says they're selling like white monster it's like yes you do need this flat of white monsters here's a 30% discount um uh so what what is going like how are they doing that
Starting point is 00:50:47 how are they making that work what are they what is this is this on the up and up is this a gray area what's the deal yeah um i don't know as with many things things tax. It's very vague. There's nothing like super specific on it. Just kind of to back up a little bit there, why it matters. The IRS has this list of what they consider qualified medical expenses, things you can actually use the HSA or FSA for and get the tax-free benefit, right? And actually, if you use it for other things, there's potentially penalties for that. So it is important. You know, their information lists a bunch of stuff that's covered. It lists some stuff that's not covered.
Starting point is 00:51:28 It doesn't specifically say garage gym equipment is covered or not covered, right? They haven't caught up with where we're at. But like there's some clues in there. They want things to be for a medical condition. So like if it's there to treat obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, maybe you can cover it. Is it a sick palpable medical condition? See, there's nothing. specific about that in the code. What about this? A certified training facility package through
Starting point is 00:51:56 Jim Radar. Is there a reason we shouldn't be offering the, the health certifications? That could go under capital improvements. So they do have a capital improvement. The problem with that is the value it increases on your home. You can't count that. So it would be a wash. That is a good point. Yeah. Yeah. So they have weight loss on here as both allowed and disallowed. And again, that gets into that category of, is it medically prescribed? Is it, you know, vanity? Is it just for general health? They'd like to specifically exclude general health.
Starting point is 00:52:28 So what is a company like TrueMed doing? They've got, I assume, medical doctors on staff waiting for your call to write you a letter of medical necessity for whatever it is, for Postrak, Power Bar. They're, you know, concept. Oh, don't stop there. Keep it going. Yeah. Yeah. So that's essentially what they're doing. They are, quote unquote, solving the medical necessity problem or the prescription problem and saying here's your, here's your letter that says you need this
Starting point is 00:53:00 gym equipment. Go ahead and use your HSA to buy it. I would liken that to like a relevant thing where like a hormone therapy clinic that they sell hormone therapy, so they're going to make sure to prescribe, be able to prescribe you that, if at all possible. I think it's the same process. I haven't been through, but I think you just kind of have a Zoom call with the doctor. They say, all right, here you go. I think of like diploma mills, but your example, probably more relevant and maybe more accurate. But yeah, they're just kind of signed it off on anything so that you can use this to use your tax deferred money to buy. Right. Right. I guess to me it's even like the broader. I feel like this is odd. Maybe it's completely normal.
Starting point is 00:53:49 You've probably got a better opinion than I, but isn't it odd a little bit in general the way that our federal tax system works in the sense, like kind of the joke is like, am I allowed to do that? And it's like, well, you're allowed to do whatever you want. It's just a matter of if you get audited and caught. Like it's kind of the, it's like the system is you do literally whatever you want. to and there's like a reasonable gamble it'll actually never be a problem even if it's incorrect right and frankly that's how a lot of tax law gets created people do things because there's nothing that says explicitly you can or can't then eventually they get audited or they get taken to court and then there's some you know tax letter that eventually comes out and says
Starting point is 00:54:33 hey you know this guy did this we don't want we know what's up don't do this anymore and then now you've got new new new tax regulations so yeah I mean is the IRS going to come kicking your door for using your HSA money to buy, you know, a power bar in some weights. I mean, I don't see that happening right now, you know, particularly in the current political environment. Would you get audited for something else? And then they're looking for a step and they say, hey, by the way, let me see this
Starting point is 00:55:00 pendulum squat that you got here that you used your, used your HSA for it. Tell me about that. Let me watch this Masonomics home gym tour here where you, where you mentioned that you have $100,000 worth of Jim. right right so if i was your financial planner my stance would be like there's nothing that says you can do this i personally don't really want you using the money for this anyway if you don't have right let's let's you know accumulate the money but there's nothing that really says you can do it and in fact there's a few things i can point to that kind of specifically say you're not supposed to do it
Starting point is 00:55:33 but again i don't know i can't they can't throw everybody in jail so Well, so that was kind of, I think, what started this is, I don't know, if it was a year ago, when I first started seeing more of this pop up. I remember just looking into it, looking into it briefly. And my limited research kind of came with like, yeah, you probably shouldn't. At best, this is a gray area. And I think at the lift heard of easy, I was talking to you for a minute. I'm like, it kind of feels like the analogy of like, I don't know, the speed limit here is 80.
Starting point is 00:56:07 and I went 90 and I didn't get in trouble. So yeah, it's good. Like you can go 90. You could probably go 95 even. And it's like, well, yeah, that works until you get caught. And then like, will you get a ticket? I guess it depends on how they're feeling that day. And that's where it seems like this is kind of going with this whole thing,
Starting point is 00:56:25 but it's just a gray area, I guess. Well, and even as the taxpayer, I mean, you as the taxpayer, ultimately responsible for what's on the return, right? Right. Even if you have somebody do it for you, I mean, your name's, you know, If there's a penalty or problem, you're going to owe the tax. So, yeah, if the hammer did come down on somebody for this specific kind of thing, who's responsible? It's your tax return.
Starting point is 00:56:50 But you were using a company that supposedly took care of it for you. I got a doctor's don't hear. I did what I'm supposed to do. So it's not even clear to me if they wanted to go after you for it, what would the result be? Oh, usually the big company is getting a lot of trouble is what I've noticed. It's, they'll pick up a. Right to jail. You'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Yeah. I, like, you know, a large company like, or relatively large, at least for our space, you know,
Starting point is 00:57:20 for equipment company, if like Titans promoting it or something like that. Well, Rogue promotes it. Okay, Rogue does promote it. Like,
Starting point is 00:57:27 that's the ultimate example then. Like, they must be comfortable. And God only knows how many attorneys Rogue has as a part of staff run, you know, that they, that they work with. They must be somewhat level, at least of a liability from their end of the
Starting point is 00:57:46 spectrum that they can get away with it. But that doesn't, there again, that doesn't clear the name of the individual taxpayer, I suppose. Like, Rogue cares if they're not liable. Right. For a potential issue. Yeah, you just want the equipment from Rogue that Rogue didn't tell you to deduct it. They said here, here's this company that can handle it for you.
Starting point is 00:58:09 But yeah, I don't see where the equipment company really has any hand in it. The equipment company, in theory, doesn't even know how you're paying, what funds you're using for that. Like, they're not even, they're not even aware of that at the time of happening. Yeah, again, I haven't gone through it. But right, it's not like you send your tax return to Rome, you know, at the end of the year, just so they can kind of check it off and file. All right, we got, we got Tanner's tax return here. I usually send mine through Bill Henninger and he takes a look at it and signs off. He faxes it over, do it?
Starting point is 00:58:45 Yeah. Like, looks good, Tanner. Okay. So it's a, like at the very least, it's a gray area, though. Like, it's definitely a gray area. It's not black and white. It's a gray area for sure. And as a professional of space, I wouldn't be comfortable defending a decision to tell
Starting point is 00:59:05 somebody to do it. If somebody wants to do it, I'm not your mom. It's fine, but it's, it's, it's not going to be my advice. Yeah. All right. Tommy, what else specifically on the HSA, FSA, anything? No, I think actually that cleared up the main, the main part for it with me. I think it's, it's until like today, just right before this, just doing a tiny little bit of looking, I didn't realize the extent to, like, seeing it on Rogue is an eye-opener for me. Like, it is absolutely mainstream when you're seeing it on rogue. You know, before I thought it was just on a few random equipment sites, but I don't know,
Starting point is 00:59:41 maybe this, uh, maybe this true med rabbit hole goes deeper than I thought. And maybe they're, maybe they are actually on just every checkout page in the country for, uh, equipment. Uh, Tommy, I've got a question for Jeff, but you can stop me and decide,
Starting point is 00:59:57 do we want to talk about this today? Or is, or are there some questions like this that we just want to save, have Jeff back on in a little one? It could be like a, a monthly recurring Jeff segment. Money with Jeff. Because my thought is like,
Starting point is 01:00:15 you know, I don't know if that many people go into this like completely believing it's true, but just the general thought that all start a home gym to save money. You know, I think that that's an interesting, there's a ton of personal circumstances
Starting point is 01:00:32 to consider in that and stuff, but like also, you know, does that ever happen? And Jeff is also both a home gym owner and someone that's gone to a commercial gym both. So he lives the experience. So is that something we would want to talk about today or should that be like in October we have Jeff back
Starting point is 01:00:50 and we talk about that? God. I think we should just bring them back. Yeah, we'll bring him back. We'll bring it back. Because I could get going for another 30 minutes on that easy. Jeff, are you down for this to be like a quarterly? our quarterly check-in call.
Starting point is 01:01:06 Yeah. Anytime. Okay. All right. Let's see that then. Yes. Quarterly recap. Because you might want to prepare for it too.
Starting point is 01:01:14 Yeah. Yeah. We don't want you to catch you off guarder. Well, but before you do go, Jeff, though, you know, you are a little bit of a music guy. And this is the Massonomics podcast, and we do this little game called overrated, underrated. And I thought we would, I thought we would mash these together, Tanner, unless you had something else prepared. No, that actually, even before you do that, when he say he's a bit of a music guy, Jeff, I don't know if Tommy knows this. Tell Tommy what you're, you know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Tell them what you're doing. Oh, with the, with the albums. Yes, yes. Yeah, there's a, there's a book, a thousand and one albums you must hear before you die. I know. He puts in a story all the time. Oh, okay, you already do know. I did. I did.
Starting point is 01:01:56 I did know. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, okay. You already know then. We'll tell the listeners what you're doing then. Yeah, it's a cool little, um, book. well, there's a web app I found for it. And basically they give you a new random album from the book every day.
Starting point is 01:02:09 It's everything from, you know, classic rock and limp biscuit to world music and just all kinds of wild stuff. A lot of British stuff. The guy who's the editor is a British guy. So a lot of Brit popping, that kind of stuff. Yeah, I mean, it's pretty neat. It's definitely exposed me to a lot of stuff. And just, you know, you kind of dig into a lot of, artists that you're maybe familiar with but not deeply familiar with. So it's been a lot of fun.
Starting point is 01:02:37 What's a has there been any like real standouts to you that like going through this? You're like, wow, this album was the real deal. I didn't know about this one. Um, there are a few. Uh, there's so many. Like like that's like, I'm going to put you on the spot here. So I can see. I know. I know. Um, there's a lot of artists that you kind of know about, but I'd never really dug in. So like David Bowie's one where you kind of know some of his songs, but he's got three or four albums on the list and like you know you kind of sit down and listen to me like man these are actually extremely good you know i i could get these and you know own some of these um i'm trying to think of like surprise artists i don't know it's it's it's a lot of stuff like that
Starting point is 01:03:18 yeah i guess i feel like i listen to a good amount of stuff so there's not a ton of like huge huge surprises but um okay okay Tommy so what was your all right so we're going to mash up Jeff's uh financial planning business with a little music here. So Jeff, I'm going to give you a song and you have to decide if this song is overrated or underrated. First song on the list, Money by Pink Floyd.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Nice. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's got to be underrated. I mean, Gilmore is probably, David Gilmore's got to be top five guitar,
Starting point is 01:03:53 you know, of all time. Just the way he plays. And the solo and money is out of this world. And I mean, it's, it's a popular song, but I don't know. It's one of those things like, I don't know how many people would recognize it necessarily without, you know, being told what it is, so to speak. I mean, you got to be careful who you show that album cover to a lot. Well, yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 01:04:16 How can I tactfully say that people don't even don't even know the fifth bestselling album of all time. These kids, also people in their 60s, they've never seen a prism. So, I mean, considering that. Yeah. Side tangent question off of that, because I know you've heard us talk about it. What is the most iconic album art of all time? What's the most iconic? Because we've had that discussion at times.
Starting point is 01:04:45 You probably heard us say it and you were probably yelling something else into your... Well, I mean, the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon covers obviously up there. There's an old Velvet Underground cover, the banana. I was in there with that one. Yep. That one, especially like if you want to make it, you know, look like you know what you're talking about. Like you're a hipster. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:05 Yeah. Because it's artistic too. Well, and it's, it's Andy Warhol design. And so a lot of the covers have little, um, sometimes they have little Easter eggs in them. So like that one, you can peel the banana back and it's like a disgusting flesh colored banana. You know, on the other side of it. There's, um, what else would be iconic? I was like the meatloaf bad out of hell.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Yeah. pretty well and you kind of like you know exactly what you're going to get inside the album by looking at the cover yeah that's good yeah there's some good ones okay next overrated or underrated money for nothing dire straits hmm it's another good one um i'm gonna say that's probably a little bit overrated because that just gets so much play it's in like it got it really got a boost from ticot and reels that that guitar solo you know it just yeah intro guitar's crazy though And that's another guy like Knopfler, who's the guitarist there. You can immediately hear his guitar, you know, on pretty much any song he plays.
Starting point is 01:06:08 He's got such a distinct sound. But it's just, yeah, it's, it's, it's too loved. It's, it's overplayed. Okay. All right. Is that the video that was viral where the guy's smoking, that was very viral for a while where he's playing the guitar solo? I think that was Eric Clapton on that one. Oh, yeah, that one.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Oh, yeah, that's, you're right. Yeah, that was like, yeah, okay. Yep, I'm getting things confused. Yeah. It reminds me of that, though, a little bit. Yeah. Same, same kind of feel. Over and underrated.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Take the money and run by Steve Miller band. That's a tough one. That is, I'm going to say it's a little overrated. It's just not my favorite Steve Miller song. If the listeners want a good Steve Miller album to pick up, Brave New World is a good one. It's kind of before he blew up, you know, it's thoroughly stuff. So, I mean, you like it before. It was popular.
Starting point is 01:07:04 Yeah. Yeah. Good song, but it might be a little overrated. Okay. Final one on the list. Overrated or underrated. Cream by Wu-Tang. I'm not a big hip-hop guy, so I'm going to say it's overrated.
Starting point is 01:07:21 I mean, what's it staying for? Cash rules everything around. Cash was everything. Yeah. Yeah. Like, you know, it needs. It needs too much explanation. I iconic song, though.
Starting point is 01:07:34 You know, I think if you are a hip hop guy, it's probably underrated. Because they're another one of those groups that's like, everybody knows about them. But if you're, I mean, we're like 30 years removed from Ute, more than that. I know. At this point, it's old. Like old. You know, like by song. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:51 So. Okay. Not a big, not a big Bhutan guy. That's fair. Okay. Well, Tanner, did he pass or fail? I think that was great. that's flying colors path.
Starting point is 01:08:01 I love that segment. Good. I like it too. That was good stuff. Yeah. Excellent. Do, do, do you get anything for that? Oh, wait,
Starting point is 01:08:11 we give him that later, I guess. He'll have to find. Help to listen to the episode. Yeah, I have to listen to find out if he gets cool. We need that one extra listener account for our RSS feed. All right, Jeff. Thank you. We will get in touch to you with the next topic for this now recurring segment.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Hey, good. Thanks for having me. look forward to the next time. Oh, what about, what if people want to reach out to you? You have a YouTube channel, we'll let you, you have a YouTube channel. First of all, I watch most of your videos. What's the, what's the name of the YouTube channel? YouTube channel, I think, is just Create Wealth FP, but you can just search me,
Starting point is 01:08:44 Jeff McDermott on YouTube as well, Jeff McDermott, CFP. It'll come up. But it should be at Create Wealth FP and Instagram dollars and deadlifts as well. Pumping out reels on Instagram. Yeah, yeah. And my website, very special Tommy D website, create wealthfp.com. You can learn more and you can schedule a call.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Excellent. Thanks, Jeff. All right. Thank you. Thanks, Jeff. See ya. Cool beans. You worked hard for those cool beans.
Starting point is 01:09:20 You got them. Those were Matthews Bridge Cool beans. Take it to the Matthews Bridge. That was great. That was good. I really learned something there today. Let us know in the comment section of the YouTube video. Other crew members, what relevant professional experience do you have that we can twist into a gym fitness lifting related episode?
Starting point is 01:09:51 Pitch us on why you should be the next crew member as a guest that's helping educate us on something related to the fitness or. or gym or equipment community, lifting, strength, any of that. We will want a 12 to 20. The more unique angle, the better. Yeah, we're going to need at least a 12 to 20 page slide deck that goes through your strengths, weaknesses. And if I notice any AI usage, I'm throwing it in the garbage. A single M-Dash.
Starting point is 01:10:22 Tanner is tossing that thing. It's going in the garbage. Do you think potential employers now, like, do that at all on Resilings? amaze or cover letters? No, because they're all just using AI too, so no one cares. Right. I mean, this goes, I'll save this rant for another day, but I was telling you this earlier. I'm just fully hitting the conclusion.
Starting point is 01:10:43 No one cares about anything anymore about anything ever. Yeah. No one cares. No one with a job anywhere cares. It's insane. Yeah. Like I just encounter in way too many different things, in way unrelated things like, no, no one gives a fuck anymore.
Starting point is 01:10:57 No one cares about anything. It's insane. Does it make you feel like we used to be a proper country? Oh my God, dude. I can't even talk about it anymore because I'll just get going. So I got to just stop. But someday I'll have that rant and I'll go longer. But I want to talk about something else since we're kind of talking
Starting point is 01:11:15 Jimmy Quitman a little bit. There was a topic we wanted to talk about last week and we ran out of time. And I think this is a very interesting topic. We're going to go. This is a debate of the five ace versus one inch rack. sizing on a power rack here. And where this originally came from was Nerled News Live.
Starting point is 01:11:37 We listened to the podcast. You know, we're big home gym. I don't think either of us ever miss it. We don't. We're big home gym enthusiasts guys here. We listen to it every week. Usually, fuck you, everyone. We're enthusiasts.
Starting point is 01:11:48 Usually got that thing done with less than, within 24 hours of it being out. We listen right away. And it was last week, well, by the time we listened this two or three weeks ago, Jake and Mike were mentioning how, I believe, was what started the conversation.
Starting point is 01:12:01 Did reps say they're going to discontinue their PR 4,000 line? Was that what the actual announcement was? I don't even, that might be too direct of a statement. I felt that it was like they're not going to support. Are they not going to continue to make new attachments for it? Maybe is that what they said? That's kind of what I thought. Okay, I can't even remember what they.
Starting point is 01:12:20 I feel like the correct phrasing is they're not going to continue to support that line. Okay. So take that from what that. Yeah. See, I'm already forgetting what started the whole conversation. But yeah, so I think, and maybe like, ambiguous in general. Right.
Starting point is 01:12:33 Maybe ref's going to put a little less effort marketing R&D money into their five-eight-inch line. Yeah, it sounds like, so the PR 4,000, to probably continue to still offer it. It might just be one color and you might not have as many options
Starting point is 01:12:44 as you had before. And what Jake and Mike, they kind of both jump to the conclusion as the one-inch elite us that they are, that it was kind of like, nope, one inch is the future, get on with it or see you later. And I don't think they're entirely wrong.
Starting point is 01:13:00 Objectively is one inch better. probably. I'm a 5-8-inch rat guy, and I'm listening to this. I'm like, you know what? I think I have a little different perspective here. One, in that I'm a 5-8-inch rat guy, not both, not like these guys, both one-inch rat guys. Tanner, you're a one-inch rat guy, but I'm a little bit everything. I'm a 5-A-s inch rat guy, and in their point, they also mentioned, you know, we talked to, I think they said they talked to mutant metals and Rory, and they had made the comment like mutant metals it was like both supporting members both supporting members both great guys all great guys all um rory and mutant metals make great product um and i think they said like some of the nicest
Starting point is 01:13:42 some of the nicest yeah absolutely i think they said something like mutant metal said like he's when it comes one inch to five ace it's like 30 to one and 15 or so yeah and then rory was like one in 15 and i don't doubt that at all for those guys but my first thought was those guys are on the absolute high end of the market They are the premium of the premium stuff. And for good reason. Like they make it great. It's high quality stuff. But when I'm hearing all this, I'm thinking, you know what, we also sell a product that can be one inch or five-a-ace.
Starting point is 01:14:14 That's be the drink spot. We've sold quite a few of them. We've sold a lot of them. And not only that, we also have a website called Jim Radar that tracks racks. And a lot of racks will tell you exactly what size people are using. So I'm like, okay, let's take a little data, a little data-backed approach to the this a one inch versus five-eighths thing and get a better view of the picture here of what the people are actually doing because we've also at this point toured like 70 or 80 gyms all over
Starting point is 01:14:40 the country and if you told me to guess I'd say yes we've seen more one inch racks but it's not three to one it's not even two to one I'd say it's maybe like 55 to 45% of I had to guess right in there so that just got me thinking I'm like okay well let let's like a little look at this picture. The first one, Tanner, I think you pulled the numbers percentage-wise. Do you have that of the drink spotter 1-inch versus the drink-spotter 5-A's? Do you know what the ratio was there? Yeah, it was way closer than I was even expecting. That was, I don't, it was a difference of 55% and 45%. Oh, it was that close, actually. No, yeah, it was it wasn't 60-40.
Starting point is 01:15:31 I make, you know, it's somewhere in between 55, 45, 45 and 60-40. Okay. You told me like a week or two ago, I was thinking it was like 70-30 still. No, in the one-year history, it was a little bit broader. It's trending, wait, wait, a little broader in like trending more towards one-inch. More towards one-inch in the one-year history. In our lifetime sales, they were within, say, 5% of each other. And this is a product that has been around for, what, four years, five years?
Starting point is 01:15:59 Five years probably. Yeah. Okay. So you could see, you could in that data by looking at the five year history versus the one year history, there was a marginal shift to one inch. Okay. But it's not like that shift is,
Starting point is 01:16:13 no, it wasn't even 70, 30 on the, it was like, it was shifting to, it got to like 60, 40. Okay.
Starting point is 01:16:20 Is what it has shifted to. Right. Off of almost being 50, 50. So, and I'm saying 60% of the volume is one inch and 40% of the volume is five eights. Yes.
Starting point is 01:16:29 Okay, so that's one data point we have. The next data point was when you go to Jim Radar, great website. I love what the people over there are doing. If you haven't been there yet, you should check it out. Love those guys, what they're doing. If you go to Jimradar.com, you can go to the equipment tab. And from the equipment tab, you can select rack as the type of equipment you want to see.
Starting point is 01:16:48 And if I just go on this first page that shows, actually, if I look at the top 20 racks to get people an idea, the number one most owned rack is the rep PR 5,000, which is a one inch rack. That is owned by 182 gyms. And if I take it down to number 20 on the list, that would be the Rogue Fitness SM1 monster squat stand. Also a one inch rack squat stand here. But that one's owned by 14 gyms.
Starting point is 01:17:15 So the top 20 covers everything from 182 pieces of ownership to 14. So a pretty wide gamut. Like we're really the top. It's going to cover 90% of the. rack ownership on Jim Radar probably in the top 20. Yes. And we added up the numbers on all of this. And the only part that's an unknown is in there the way rep lets you do.
Starting point is 01:17:40 So we have the rep Ares functional trainer and the rep Athena functional trainer are in the Rack category. And both of those products are available as a five ace or a one inch option. So because we don't know on those, if we just said scratch those from the data set, what the number is is one inch, there's 381 racks, five-eighth inch, there's 370 racks. So basically, 50-50. Now, if you wanted to be really generous and say,
Starting point is 01:18:08 every single person that bought an Ares or in Athena got the one-inch version, then you're looking at like 480 to 370, still not a huge discrepancy there. And, of course, not all-purple that bought it. Not anywhere around this 15 to 1 or 30 to 1 or. No, I mean, this math would tell you right here. Well, it's 50-50. That same 50-50 should apply to the 100 you don't know about.
Starting point is 01:18:32 And it should, yeah. Can you be, now if I had to guess, I would say it's probably closer to 60, 40 percent on those or something. But what that is showing me is the few data points we have is like, no, no, five-ace is alive and well. Going forward, is it less popular? Maybe. But as far as legacy customers go with people that you can. sell and market 5-8-inch stuff to, I think, no, that market is strong. There is a ton of stuff there.
Starting point is 01:18:59 And so that's the data side from like actually looking at real numbers of what we have. I would say me personally as a 5-8-inch rack user, the next thing, because I listen to podcasts, I hear people talk about, I listen to podcasts, I watch YouTube videos, people are always hyping up one-inch racks. And I think like, God, am I missing out on something? I'm continually like, and is there something I'm missing? I've been a home gym owner for like three years now. I've not had this be an issue for me yet.
Starting point is 01:19:28 But there's another data point we can look at actually. We can go to Jim Radar and look at the most owned rack attachments. And if we look at the 20 most popular rack attachments and we go through the list, there is actually one, I believe one item in the top 20 that is not. compatible or offer it as both a five-ace and a one-inch option. And that would be the rogue fitness multi-use rack roller. I believe that is only available as a one-inch product. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:07 Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's a monster multi. Yeah, it's only a one-inch product. So if you need that very specific roller, yes, you should have a rogue monster rack. But otherwise, like the monster landmine, well, you can get a monster light landmine. The Mammoth Belt Squad is the number one. That comes available in both options. The Mutant Metals UDA is available in both options. It's slightly different.
Starting point is 01:20:28 But the Darko Quick Mount Ghost Roller J-Cups, spotter arms, Matador, other landmines, other J-Cups, seats. Like, they're all available in both. And the more I go through the list, I'm like, is there something I'm not understanding? And I think the biggest one is that if you want potentially some of these really new attachments from companies,
Starting point is 01:20:53 like they're leaning towards maybe being one inch only, maybe. But even that, I don't, it doesn't seem like that's actually necessarily the case. Yeah. And I don't think, uh, like mutant metals, Rory, you know, they're not making those numbers up. I think that that's probably something of what they experienced. No, I agree. I think they're correct.
Starting point is 01:21:13 But it's because they're a very high sell the high. I think the people that spend. the most money on the most amount and highest end rack attachments are probably one inch rack owners. Like I bet there's a correlation that you're on a one inch rack, you're higher, you're more likely to purchase the Rory, you know, attachment, the JD, uh, the Mutantel's UDA. You're probably more likely to buy that for $360 than you would be to buy the rogue monster light Matador. which does a lot of the same stuff for $110. And that is not to knock the Mutant Metals UDA. It is a great product and we see that in a ton of home gyms we go to.
Starting point is 01:21:58 But it is also if what you're buying is a dip attachment, you know, even here from a premium manufacturer, the differences are 110 versus 360 on something like that. And so, I mean, that is an interesting. I guess my overall takeaway from the thing was, you know, Mike and Jake both kind of had.
Starting point is 01:22:19 the thing of like, yeah, one inch. That's the future. Five-Ace. Good luck. See you later. And I would say, yeah, if you're starting from scratch, one inch is probably the best way to go with. But by no means, do not feel like you can't get strong with five-eighths inch attachments. I personally...
Starting point is 01:22:38 Or don't feel like you need to ditch your five-eighths-inch rack today to be able to... So you have someone that owns a five-eight-inch rack. We know almost all of these come in both. Are there any that are... better. So I will say, that would need a question. I would,
Starting point is 01:22:52 are there any of the attention better because they're one inch? That's also, I would say somewhat subjective. A lot of them are better, but they cost 50 to 90% more. So it's like, well, yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:02 they're better because. What are they better? What's better about them, though? Some of them have slightly more features. Like, for example, but is it because they're one inch?
Starting point is 01:23:14 Or is it because the person, they're, well, like here's, okay, and I don't even, uh, all right.
Starting point is 01:23:20 like the monster, let me check this before I even say it out loud because I might be wrong here. Like I'll just take one random one where you're doing that. The ghost roller jacup, which is the fourth most popular, is the one inch version of that rack attachment
Starting point is 01:23:36 any better than the five eights? I don't think on that one it's any different at all. The answer to that is definitely no. It's not better. But some of these are they potentially better? So one thing that I've noticed and I'm having a hard time finding an example is what I've noticed is a lot of times companies put less effort into
Starting point is 01:23:58 five-eighths-inch products. So like the five-eighth-inch version might not have UHMW where it touches your rack where the one-inch version does. And you know, the company to add that and do that, I mean, it's probably costing them dollars, but then they charge you. Yeah. I mean, like the great example is, and this is the one that always just makes me laugh, the monster light Matador is $110. The monster Matador from Rogue is 195. So it is almost a hundred percent more. And functionally, it's the same damn thing. I mean, I know some.
Starting point is 01:24:31 It is the same, right? Yeah. I mean, someone will tell you like, well, no, it's, I don't know,
Starting point is 01:24:35 it can do whatever thing better. But like at the end of the day, if you want to do dips. Isn't it the same? I don't know. Like, this is what I can't tell if it has UHMW on it. I think it might have.
Starting point is 01:24:44 I got you. But like some of that stuff, it's not inherently better because it's one inch. It's better because. The company has put, more R&D and more investment into it. I mean, which is also worth considering in your option choice, but it's not even like inherently better.
Starting point is 01:24:59 No. It's better just because they. And I think that's part of the angle too here is like, I think companies are like, oh no, like you mean given the option, we can just sell rack attachments that cost 50% more or 80% more. Yeah. And it like our cost, like let's be real. Is adding a one inch pin in some UHMW?
Starting point is 01:25:19 Does that double the cost? the manufacturing cost of the product? No, it probably does almost nothing to it. And if you're the consumer, it is worth considering on the attachments. It's not just the difference in the price of the rack. The future attachments are worth
Starting point is 01:25:34 considering, A, what's going to be available. That's where someone might say one inch. You shouldn't consider that. But B, your budget, maybe that makes you consider 5'8s more strongly, that you're like, oh, I can save 75% on every single attachment that I do buy for this going forward.
Starting point is 01:25:49 The other thing I'd add about that, like rep supporting 5 eighths inch ecosystem less, to me and to us some savvy businesses out there that also make equipment, they're going to recognize that as a great opportunity. That says, well, we're the 580. Like PRX is the great example. PRX makes a ton of really good 5 eighths inch rack attachments. And maybe it'll be other companies. And now one of the biggest players in the space is potentially leaving it. I'm like, oh, there's a lot of companies that this is a massive opportunity for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:24 And I think Mike and Jake mentioned that same thing, too, that there's like a big, there's a, you know, in their wake, there is a good opportunity for some other company too. And I think that they said that same thing too. Yeah. I agree with that. Here's another good example. If you have a rep PR 4,000 and you, they just released new spotter arms. Of course, we said they're not developing stuff for the, for the five-eighths inch.
Starting point is 01:26:47 So they're one inch only. But their old spotter arms. The PR 4,000 spotter arms were 160. The PR 5,000 spotter arms, which from what I can tell seem to be the same, except to have a one inch pin. The PR 5,000 ones are 240. So it is an increase of $80. It is 33% more to have that one.
Starting point is 01:27:08 Do they spot you safer? No. You know, like if what you're looking for is safeties to spot you, it's functionally the same thing. Someone might say, well, these ones have one. one inch holes so I can do more crap. That is an option. But my point is with all of this is I think it's incredibly overblown.
Starting point is 01:27:30 I personally, I had never even had a problem in my life finding a five-eighth inch rack attachment until I got a ultra. I was going to say, don't you have one example of something? Yeah, this is the first example in me of having a home gym, spending quite a bit of money on stuff, buying a lot of stuff, using my rack in a ton of different ways. the first example I ran into here recently was I was looking for leg stays now that I have a Voltra trying to do lap pull downs on the rack. There's a lot of companies that are not putting the effort into making leg stays for a five-eighths inch rack. Or I shouldn't say there's there's not a lot
Starting point is 01:28:07 of companies that want budget options out there. You know, I can, you can get a rep Pegasus like that is, but I don't want to buy a $400 some dollar thing to sit on my ass, you know, once a week. Yeah. So that one I had to do a little more. more looking, but Jim Radar makes that easy. I found that damn thing. I actually got a leg stay from Revolt Fitness. It was like $70. I got it today. Can I tell you, how is it? I am damn impressed what this thing is for $70. And I'm like, you know what? I'll wheel up my $500 bench. That will be my seat. This $70 leg stay will hold my legs down for my three sets of lap pull downs once a week. And after that, I will put it away and move on with my life. And I didn't have to spend
Starting point is 01:28:49 $400 on a leg stay seat thing. And I'm like, dude, I just, I still to this day have not had it be an issue. Now, for your training, could it? Maybe, I don't know. It depends on what you're trying to do. But I would not be afraid if you have a five-eighths inch rack or for that matter. If you're one of those people that has a two-by-three rack, I still wouldn't even be afraid.
Starting point is 01:29:09 Like, keep riding that thing out. What, Ray Hill-strong Jim? He's got a two-by-three. Kevin's tight. Yeah, that's a two-by-three, right? Yeah, the T-3 is a tightened two-by-three series. Yeah, and he actually had some reasons why he thinks the two by three is he prefers it. You know, he prefers it.
Starting point is 01:29:28 I think attachments wasn't one of them. Attachments are even cheaper on that. Wasn't that what he said? Yeah. And then also there, you gain something in terms of rack width. Oh, yeah. Well, the rack is, you know, each upright is an inch narrower. So like, right.
Starting point is 01:29:41 You don't have, you have more clearance, I think, to get, you know, your barbell out. Which I just think are interesting points. They are. Yeah, I wouldn't be, if you're buying something brand new, if you're buying a rack, a new rack and you're someone that wants all the highest end attachments for sure going into the future and the budget, like the 40% difference on budget is not that big of a deal for you. I would, and you just want the nicest, no matter, kind of regardless of budget,
Starting point is 01:30:15 I would buy a one inch rack. I would, I mean, if I was starting over the day. The most, the certainly most options in the future, you would buy the one inch rack. Yeah. If you own a five inch rack today, it would be a hard sell for me to make a change. Yes. I agree with all of those. The biggest one is the offset holes on the one inch rack.
Starting point is 01:30:37 It gives you more options on the side. But again, there hasn't really been an issue for me. If I was starting from scratch today, what would I buy? I would buy a one inch rack. That's what I would do if I was starting from scratch. Will I have a one inch rack someday? Probably, I don't know. You know, enough time goes on, anything happens.
Starting point is 01:30:55 It wouldn't surprise me, but do I feel. Well, we're also in a weird position that sometimes we get. Yes, I'm in a different boat. I mean, like we do make content and do stuff. But I still, do I feel like I'm missing out on anything right now? No. I feel like I'm missing out on nothing actually is. There's also, I think your rack has it.
Starting point is 01:31:15 Does your rack have west side spacing? Yeah, which I love. for bench. Okay, you do like that then. Oh, my bench is so dialed in perfectly. Does not have that, you know. And now, you know, people are making really expensive rack attachments that will try to combat that on one inch racks.
Starting point is 01:31:31 But just another thing of like, you know, yeah, yeah, you can fix that problem by spending even more money. So, you know, that's another interesting part of it. But, yeah, I like West Side spacing. For my bench, I have that dialed into perfection. Yeah, that was my takeaway. I don't think it's all doom and gloom for 5-8-inch owners. I own three rogue 1-inch racks,
Starting point is 01:31:54 and I'm trying to think if anything about it, if those were 5-8s-inch racks. Well, in Massanomics Gym, especially, like you're not loading them up with rack. Like, the racks and massanomics gym are for squatting in, basically, you know. Right. Or overhead pressing, potentially. But that's what that gets used for.
Starting point is 01:32:10 I mean, they get used for a lot of J-Cups and safeties. Yep. of various varieties, you know, monolith attachments, any of the, I'm just, just thinking out loud, if those would have been 5 eighths inch from the day I bought it, would there be, you know, makes you think, should I just have bought in 5.8, like, was the 5 eighth inch rack cheaper, you know, the 3 by 3, 58s inch rack or is at the same price? Well, like, should what I've saved myself? I don't even know.
Starting point is 01:32:39 Like, right. Back when you bought stuff 10 years ago, I don't know, everything was like free. The prices were so low in comparison. They were just like giving it away. They were just happy to have customers then, you know. But you could make the argument that if, say, the 5-8s was a 10% cheaper rack, I should have saved myself the $600 between the racks and bought 5-8s because I don't actually utilize specifically anything there for one-inch.
Starting point is 01:33:08 Yeah, God, even this, like, and I know it's not a direct apples-d apples comparison because there's always stuff different, but like even at Rogue, like an RM four-post rack. like the starting price here shows 1,800. And a rogue monster light four post rack, the starting price here shows 1,100, about 1,200. So even there, again, it's a difference of 33% about. Right.
Starting point is 01:33:34 So, I mean, it's, yeah, is it better? Yes. Is it more expensive? Yes, always. So, I mean, like, is it like a, you're not like getting anything for free here. Like, right, right, right. You're paying the difference.
Starting point is 01:33:46 Yeah, you're paying up for it. Yeah. It's like all things. Like, oh, yeah, I guess if you just, if money's always the answer, like, yeah, you can solve all the problems. But yeah. So if, if the price was always identical for the rack and the attachments, you would always, everyone would just get one inch probably would be universal. Yeah. But that's not the case.
Starting point is 01:34:07 Yeah. It is not the case. All right. So five-eighth inch rack owners out there hold strong. Unite. Two by three rack owners. Hold strong. Two by two owners with one inch holes.
Starting point is 01:34:21 Hold strong. We've actually seen it. We've toured a decent number of gyms with those racks and them. And people that love them too. You know, who's northwest of Sioux Falls? Willie's, Willie's weight room.
Starting point is 01:34:34 Willie's weight room. Didn't he have a two by two? Yep. Amazon. It was like the Amazon special. Two by two one inch holes. Yeah. You know,
Starting point is 01:34:42 he was like, oh, this works great for what I do. Yeah. You want to know. two by two one inch holes. You want to know how far a thousand bucks will get you with that?
Starting point is 01:34:48 It'll get you really far on that ecosystem. Yeah, it really will. Can you get strong with it? Oh, hell yeah. Was that a radar report then or not? Well, technically, that kind of is the radar report. We're going to, we have one gym radar feature we have to announce here too.
Starting point is 01:35:04 Yeah, okay. Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? Radar love. So could we talk about that new feature because I've been itching to talk about that new feature. Oh, is that what that itch is? I've been feeling that too. I was wondering, all right, we're pretty pumped on this. It's not wiping properly. Oh, one bit of follow up on,
Starting point is 01:35:26 because I think people like the bathroom conversation of, you know, really just, uh, because my wife absolutely does not listen to the Massonomics podcast at all whatsoever, but something very similar that came up just like yesterday. I was home for lunch and USPS does pick up. from our house for all the massonomics packages. So I was about ready to leave. And the mail lady was like in our garage getting that stuff. And someone from the energy company was also here doing locates in our yard. And he was walking around to the front and I opened the door.
Starting point is 01:36:01 And I'm like, there's two people out there. So I closed the door. Like I was getting ready to leave. I just closed the door and came back in. And I acted like I was doing something because I knew my wife would be like, what do you do? Like I knew she would immediately know what I'm doing. you know, like what she has a way of always knowing what I'm up to.
Starting point is 01:36:22 Like is everyone's wife like that? Yeah, they're all snoopy and nosy and just like always knowing stuff. She'd be like, she can, she's, uh, has telepathic ability. Yeah, like she literally knows what I'm thinking with the, I don't have to say a word, but and I like turned back around and I was like organized shoes or something like that. And she's like, you're dusty cabinets. She just goes, you need to be studied on the lengths you'll go to to not talk to people. Because she knew just immediately, just for me opening the door and then closing it and turning around that I was like, yeah, I'm not going out there to talk to two different people that are in the driveway.
Starting point is 01:37:03 And she's like, it should be studied what you'll do to avoid having to talk to people. And I did go, well, the male lady is here also. So there's two people out there. And she did say, okay, yeah, I would wait too. Yeah, the mail lady. Yeah, everyone knows the mailie. No, our mail lady is really good, but I'm... Actually, I would have in pleasant conversations with those people,
Starting point is 01:37:29 but when given the option to just wait two minutes and not have to do that, sign me up for that every time. Is that insane? No, I don't think so. Is that insane? My wife would 100%? My wife would 100% do that. I'd probably walk out and maybe say something.
Starting point is 01:37:51 She'd be like, do you really got to start the conversation with everyone? That's usually how that goes on our side of thing. And I'm not even that talkative of a person, you know. Right. Right. So it's not that uncommon, I don't think. I don't think so. No, God, no.
Starting point is 01:38:05 No. Okay. It's like a gore. I don't know, a goreful because you don't want to go out. I don't know what it is if you don't want to talk to people. It's not even that I don't want to talk to any people. It's just that I don't want to talk to people. that I don't really want to talk to when I don't really have to.
Starting point is 01:38:19 Yeah. If that makes any sense. Oh, yeah, totally. I think that's how a lot of people actually. I think it's how most people typically are. Right. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:38:27 I just think more people need to play by those rules and we're all, it's a win for everyone. The thing is a lot of, I shouldn't say a lot. There are some people that just have like no urgency in their life, no, no deadline, no time to, you know, just. Right. It happens as it happens. Right. The thing that I catch myself is I'm just like, in a hurry all the time like god can you do this like it's just a never in the do list and sometimes
Starting point is 01:38:51 i'm like yep i can't have uh things getting in the way and slowing me down all day long here yep okay so what is the new jim radar update that actually just was announced today the new update we have officially launched the new releases page on jim radar and this page is so important it has earned a spot in the top navigation of the website so now when you go off on the Jim Radar logo. Then there's Jim's equipment. The third button in is new releases. When you click on that, it brings up the familiar four-column grid of Jim Radar products.
Starting point is 01:39:28 But now these products are grouped into three different categories. We have new releases. We have pre-order products. And we have announced products. And you can view all of them together. They're listed chronologically in the date that they were announced. Or you can filter by new release only, pre-order only, or announced only. And if you ask, what qualifies an item for any one of these categories? New releases,
Starting point is 01:39:53 they will keep the new release tag on them until they are 90 days old. At 90 days, they automatically expire from the new release category. They are removed. The new release tag that appears in the corner of the product image goes away to, and they come off of that new release page. So that's how long something gets to live on there. The pre-order page, that could exist as long as something's in pre-order. So if a company's having, I don't know, a six-month pre-order, it'll be in there for six months.
Starting point is 01:40:23 We have 12 items in the pre-order paid. Yeah, you say, well, what's on pre-order right now? There's the Speedians Gym Nano, the Freak Athlete Hyper Pro X, the Freak Athlete Dumbel cart, the Freak Athlete Adjustable Dumbel, the Eve Company. Moab.
Starting point is 01:40:36 Oh, yeah, yeah, the GoBrow Athletics Moab Bar. We have the PRX profile arc attachment, the rep fitness dialed motion leg developer and preacher curl attachment. The Strength Co-45-250 America plate, the OVR Force plate. Like, there's some good stuff in the pre-order page. And on any of those products, if you click on it and we have release details, we will include the estimated release date.
Starting point is 01:41:00 And a lot of companies, when they have pre-orders, will have some type of promotional or discount going on. So we'll try to include that information in there as well if the company provides it. And then finally, the most ambiguous category is the announced category. And right now, it's mostly just some stuff that we saw kind of teased at home Jim. So some things from dialed motion, mythic equipment,
Starting point is 01:41:20 the fringe sport Pandora's box, you know, their digital resistance product. Yeah. So yeah, those things, I don't know. We could see them in six months.
Starting point is 01:41:29 We could see them in six years. I don't know. It's kind of on the company to get those things moving. And as they do move, we will update their order status. And this is what makes this really cool is, let's say, for example,
Starting point is 01:41:40 you are very interested in, I don't know, this fringe sport, uh, a codename Pandora's box, digital resistance machine they have. Maybe you're very, very interested in that and you want to keep updated. Well, you're probably subscribed to or on the fringe sport email list. But if you want to get another notification of some kind,
Starting point is 01:41:59 or you just want to make sure you're in the loop on any of these products, you can click on it, and there is a button to click Follow for Update. So you have to make sure you have a Jim Radar account. You can click the Follow for Updates button. And any time the status on the product changes. So if this Pandora's box officially goes into pre-order and we change that, an email will be sent out to you automatically that pings you and says, hey, the status on the Pandora's box has been updated. It is now available for pre-order. It'll include a few notes and then you can go back to the website and see it. Same thing when the pre-order is done. If you're still following the product and you want to know when it's actually announced when it is actually a new release, the second we change that over on the site to be a new release, it will. also update the status and send a notification to you.
Starting point is 01:42:46 So if you have things you're interested in, this is like the way to keep on top of it and also see what is happening across the industry. Like when you hit View All, we have stuff from Speedians, Temple of Gaines, Iron Master, Rep, Oat Club, freak athletes, Synergy, Fringe, Eve Company. I mean, there's a force US,
Starting point is 01:43:09 there's a ton here, and we like just started doing this. So no doubt because we're a little, you know, it's hard to go back and catch everything from the past 90 or so days. We try to do a decent job, but we'll be really on this going forward. So, yeah, it's only going to grow from here. And also one other really cool part, too, Tanner, is the release archive. So as pieces we said, they expire after 90 days, they will go into the release archive. And that will basically keep an equipment release archive of products. Yeah, history.
Starting point is 01:43:40 So you can see what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, a new release in August of 2025, you can go back and it'll say that, which I think is going to be really cool as time goes on. Ours won't be retroactive prior to, yeah, we're not going to go back to every product on the website, but yeah, it's already now. Right, right. So the archive will exist as of now going forward, which is pretty cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:01 Like, especially if your home gym nerd, like that's just interesting. What I like about at the, I mean, I really like this, because I feel like if you are a home gym nerd and you come to gym radar for anything. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What about if you're an enthusiast though? Enthusiast, absolutely. Okay. And if you come to a gym radar, you can't help but not want to click the new releases and be like, what is out there? Because there's other people and, you know, there's stuff certainly from individual companies where they're letting you know on their email list like what's new from them when they have new releases. Obviously, they're letting you know
Starting point is 01:44:38 there's other ways out there. But I don't know that there's been anything up to this point that is all the equipment companies aggregated together that you can go get a live look at this anytime you want to. We're not sending you, we're not sending you out periodic snapshots and time. What you have is like a living, breathing archive that you can check anytime when there's changes,
Starting point is 01:45:03 they will be on here. When there's new products, they will be on here. So anytime you want to, You can see what new releases are or what pre-order options are or what's announced, you know, that sort of thing. I think it's cool. It is.
Starting point is 01:45:15 And things look good. They're organizing a consistent manner. Like it's, ah, and then you can actually see on these new equipment pieces, are people actually buying any of this stuff? You know, it goes back to the central thing of Jim Radar. Does anyone actually buy any of this? And like, here's a great example. The rep strive curve, the rep strive curve treadmill.
Starting point is 01:45:36 I don't know. Did it officially release like. a week ago, two weeks ago, there's already four gyms on gym radar that have this thing like. And so you want to be like, okay, I've seen the reviewers that get this shit for free talk about it.
Starting point is 01:45:48 What are the people that put their hard earned money? What do they think? And there's two right here that have reviews listed already with photos of it. I can shoot them a DM. I can just comment on their gym page and find out.
Starting point is 01:45:59 Or the ones that don't have reviews, their gyms are still listed. I can also shoot them a message. So it's just a great way to like find who is buying this stuff and what do people actually think of it which is one of the central points of Jim Radar. I do think it fits in really, really well with what Jim Radar is
Starting point is 01:46:15 and has been up to this. It's like a great logical addition for the website. And it's sweet. I really like it. It's cool. I just like it for myself personally even. Yeah. And this is just another one of those things.
Starting point is 01:46:31 You know, I don't know. We've kind of had some version of actually we laugh as we go back and look at a lot of these ideas that we're getting to, we initially wrote them before Jim Radar was even out. In the very early planning stages, we had this, but in the name of getting the project done, you know, you get to a point where it's the minimum viable product. You get that out. And then you start seeing how people interact with it and you have new ideas and things. And the number of times where we come like, oh, we'll just randomly talk one day, be like, we got to make this and we put it on our to do list. And then you start cleaning up the to do list and be like, oh, yeah, we also wrote that down
Starting point is 01:47:04 seven months ago before Jim Radar even existed that we need to have this be a feature. So we keep coming around back to these things. And we do have still a big list of things we want to do. It is just a matter of time. We are a very small team. And there's only so much we can do and still maintain a family and jobs. So if you think you have a great idea and you want to see it, there's a good chance. We probably have it written down and we're going to get to it eventually.
Starting point is 01:47:33 to give you even just the most slightest peek behind the curtain. We have two really major things that are high on our list that will happen that are only a matter of time. I mean, it is a matter of time and it will be systematically one at a time. And both of those we came up with before Jim Rider even existed. They have been on there since almost day one. We're basically just check. I mean, you mentioned the checklist. There is literally a checklist and we are just chipping away at third.
Starting point is 01:48:03 things at the list we're just prioritizing. Because in addition to those two major things, there's at least a handful of secondary things that we're also working on simultaneously. Some are more technical behind the scenes things. Right. Some are user facing things. Some are admin things for us. Like there's always,
Starting point is 01:48:22 and it's kind of, you know, the smaller ones you look at, A, what's most urgent or important or most helpful. And we're always debating that. But then we always do have the big features that we're lining up. We have, there's a lot of potential big features, but we have, there are two major big features that I'm 100% confident will happen in just a matter of time.
Starting point is 01:48:45 And I'm not saying in years from now, like they're going to, we're going to, good chance before the end of the year, both of them will be live. Right. Right. And I am always so excited for the new stuff. Like, I'm just, I don't know, I guess it's just bragging. I don't, whatever, but like, I just think I'm, I'm. proud of the way Jim Radar keeps evolving and keeps getting better. Like at a certain point, I'm like, naysayers will have no choice but to eat their words at a certain point because they are going to use this for something. And if it's not, it's purely out of suburb. And here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:49:20 We know if something's a bad idea because we can see if people are using it and doing it. Right. So far, people are using and doing the stuff. So it's, people can think what they want. But the masses are using these things, and they seem to be enjoying it and liking it. Yes. I'm very excited about the future for Jim Radar.
Starting point is 01:49:42 Yes. So if you haven't, hop on over to Jim Radar and check out that new release page. And if there's something you're interested in, make sure you click that follow button on that product, and you can receive updates for it. Yeah. We can't talk about that many more things,
Starting point is 01:49:56 but just because this one's so time sensitive and becomes irrelevant, Sloan. Did you see Ralph Flores, deadlifting a new world record breaking. I assumed you had just been tracking that this was going to happen for months. I mean, out of nowhere, right?
Starting point is 01:50:10 Like, did you know who this guy was? I didn't know who he was before. I did not. Okay. If I was savvier, I probably would. You know,
Starting point is 01:50:18 I would say there's definitely going to be listeners of our show that definitely were on top of this and probably knew it was a good chance of happening. I could, if I'm being honest, I had no idea and did not. I can't even confirm that I've ever seen this guy pop up on a video. It's possible I've seen and just never taken note of it. But I can't confidently say that I've tracked this guy on anything at all.
Starting point is 01:50:42 Okay. That was my thought on it too. So from Mexico, he deadlifted 511 kilograms at the Giants Live competition that Thor was also in. Thor won the competition. He won the overall strongman competition. But my shortest cliff notes, very different build than Thor. Yes. Standing next to each other, he's got to be a foot shorter than him, if not more. And very thick. Yeah. A very thick man. I think what I've, the little bit I've dug into it,
Starting point is 01:51:16 he's only literally been lifting at all for four years maybe. Really? And he's like 27. Really? And he just recently got into lifting. By recently, I mean like four, five, years. That's what I believe I have seen on this. And I mean, that wasn't like, it was a pretty good lift. It was a pretty, that's what I'm saying. You don't watch it. You don't watch it. Like, well, he'll never do more than that again. Like, no. But I mean, it's not 5.11. It's not easy ever. But no. Yeah. Like my takeaway was like, oh, I, I remember when I watched the video thinking, yeah, he'll probably be breaking that again in the next year, right? Oh. The way the video looked, then plus hearing.
Starting point is 01:52:02 the facts of his history and that sort of stuff, I'm like, it'll be shocking if he's not breaking this by more in a matter of time. Like, I know you're not taking a run at that every couple months, but it seems like in the next, I don't know, four months to a year, it'll probably break again. I hate to be a, what is it, a victim of, are you a victim of the moment or is that the correct phrase? You're probably victim of the moment,
Starting point is 01:52:32 but it doesn't seem like Thor's going to outdo this guy in the long run now. I don't think so. I'm just saying that after watching one deadlift and then, you know, Thor's last few, that could all be completely flipped on its head. But I'm like, this guy seems like the ceiling is so high right now. He has actual youth on his side. His training age is essentially zero, I guess, based on what you said. I guess.
Starting point is 01:52:58 Where Thor has been at just the top level for so long now. Yeah. I mean, no doubt that that starts to take a little bit of a toll, especially in Thor's getting close to 40, isn't he? Or is he 40 already? No, I don't think so. I think he's, I think he's younger than I am. Oh, I had a feeling that he's like 37. Oh, what, 38, 39? Yeah. Well, not much younger, but like a little bit younger, I think, yes. But training age, very relevant as well. Mm-hmm. And mileage. It'll be cool to see what he can do. Yeah. I mean, if you're just comparing the two, Thor, obviously,
Starting point is 01:53:31 still the far more well-rounded strong man. Oh, yeah, I'm not debating that. I'm just talking about the deadlift. Just purely looking at the all-time deadlift record. Correct. That seems like. Yeah. I'd love to say I knew all about this guy, but I didn't know shit.
Starting point is 01:53:49 Good to know it's not just me. Yes. I think we should, I think we need to slowly bring this land. Bring this plane down to the tarmac. I think you're right. Did you tell us about Juggernaut AI? You've been using Juggernaut AI over there? Oh, Juggernaut AI.
Starting point is 01:54:11 I have not told you about this recently. Okay, Juggernaut AI. They're also bringing this episode to you. Juggernaut AI is the smartest program for you. If you've been listening to this show, you know, we are a long time Juggernaut AI users. I've been on it for like three or four years now. Used to hit some all-time PRs,
Starting point is 01:54:30 one rep maxes, rep PRs, all the PRs. And they just came out with one of their biggest updates to the app ever. They have some new. What are they copying us with like Jim Rayar updates? They came up with a new release section. This is really weird for the training app. We're the only ones coming out with new updates.
Starting point is 01:54:52 But they did some big UI updates, some interface updates. Also some of the way it asks you questions and prompts your training on any given day. really good quality of life things. I've liked it a lot so far. I'm currently running a bridge block, which is meant to be a little bridge. Take it to the Matthews Bridge block. Matthews Bridge Block.
Starting point is 01:55:14 A little bridge between a meat and getting back to a hypertrophy block. It changes up training a little bit with the rep schemes, some timing, all that good stuff. Juggernaut AI, I highly recommend it. You can use code Masonomics
Starting point is 01:55:25 and save 10% on the lifetime of your membership at juggernaut AI. dot app. That is their website. Thank you, Jugginot AI. In Woodstock 99 was Limp Biscuit the one that got them like the most? I can't remember if it was Lint Biscuit or corn. I feel like it was Lintzied. Maybe it was corn actually.
Starting point is 01:55:45 As I said that, I thought maybe it was corn. So I don't know for sure. So you think it's one of those, because I also feel like it's one of those two. Yeah, I'm not sure. I mean, maybe it was just the combination. They could have been back to back. I mean, talk about a one-two punch, huh? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:55:59 Well, yeah, actually. Seriously. Especially in 1999. Yeah, not a phone in sight. People just living in the moment like never before. Nobody had a phone. They just did. They had to listen to the music.
Starting point is 01:56:16 If they did, there was no reason to have it out at a concert. I promise that. If you did, you didn't want it with you. Like, what is that? You have a phone? The hell are you going to do with that here? But most people are. I know. We probably even just talked about this recently,
Starting point is 01:56:32 but every time I see the footage of Woodstock 99, the way the crowds, it literally just looks like water, rolling waves of water. But it's people. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I, especially in hindsight, but like I would not want to be in that crowd.
Starting point is 01:56:52 Like that seems scary just being like that if you have any amount of, I don't know if claustrophobia is not the right word for that either, but like, you're just so surrounded by people. Like, if you just have a heart attack in there, you're, well, there's a lot of, if you ever in this, there's people, uh, going down all the time, uh, you know, somehow that I don't know they get them out of there or something, but they do. Like, is there a decent, I mean, is there a on written system for that sort of stuff? The last time I went to sound set. This used to be like hip hop festival in the cities. What does happen because it probably
Starting point is 01:57:24 happens occasionally. Because there, there'd be so many. It'd be like, I don't know, you're in high school. It's like, this is the place you're going to go. party, you know. Yeah. And the last time I went, I'm like, it just felt like high schoolers were dropping left and right around. First I'm like, why is there so many high schoolers here? They could have been in college.
Starting point is 01:57:39 Everyone just looked young to me, but they were probably 26. Yeah. And it's like someone would go down and then eventually like their friends pick them up and get them out of there or somehow some medical person gets in. I don't know. It was weird. But, um, okay, I've been in some big crowds. We did, we did Boneroo one year.
Starting point is 01:57:56 I was probably like 2012 or something. and like Bonneros, but it's huge. Like there's a lot of room. The only time I really had the feeling of like, this crowd is like unsettlingly large. Right. Is when I went to Lollapalooza one year. At the bean?
Starting point is 01:58:14 At the bean. Was Huck Finn there? I bet he was. He was probably on stage. I just didn't see him because the crowd was so big. He was trying to sleep. His bed is under the bean. And he was like, hey.
Starting point is 01:58:26 We're trying to sleep here. We're trying to sleep here. damn it. I'm benching under this bean. God, I want to find this freaking picture I have. I mean, anyone, if you've ever watched any Lala Ploos a concert footage or anything, you can just go and see this. I'll try to put it.
Starting point is 01:58:42 But like here, Tanner for this one, like, it is just an endless actual crowd that never goes away. I'll try to put it on camera here. It just never, like, I remember stepping out and being like, I've never seen anything like this in my life. Like, it goes it just never stops.
Starting point is 01:58:59 It's just unlimited people forever. Right, right. That was probably a Woodstock 99. I was like, you know. Sure what it looks like. I think Woodstock 99, I was a little more violent, though. If I had, there's more fire and looting
Starting point is 01:59:13 and crimes being committed. We mentioned it there. Huck Finn, quite the home gym nerd knows me with this fancy flooring turf. You know, what a closeted home gym. Yeah, he puts on this act like he's some simple country boy.
Starting point is 01:59:28 And then the next thing, you know, his barn is looking like a straight up. I don't even know. He's posting home gym renovation videos every other day and like showing off his wild set up and fancy match for free like a little influencer over there. You know, like, oh my God. What a closeted home gym nerd. I don't even think it's closeted at this point. No, he's out.
Starting point is 01:59:53 Home gym nerd. Yeah. Yeah. He's out. Yep, he's living the lifestyle. You know what? You know what's worse than a home gym nerd? A home gym nerd that's in denial.
Starting point is 02:00:05 Yeah, yeah. That's a very good point. Luckily, most of them aren't in denial. They, you know, they're pretty open about it. But there's a few of them out there like him that want to deny it. It's like at least everyone else is being honest about it. Yeah, yeah, we're in the circle of trust over here. Okay.
Starting point is 02:00:27 Just wanted to bash a fuck fan a little. Oh, yeah, of course. I mean, we're two hours in. We had to say something about him. All right. We're going on this trip to Phoenix. The time we get back, we're going to be button up some details on a September drop.
Starting point is 02:00:50 So be on the lookout for that. Our Labor Day last minute sale that we decided to do effectively made it so we almost don't have any shirts to sell whatsoever. We got to get some shit to sell. Yes. So hopefully come by end of September, we do have fulfilled that need. And we have some things on our site for you to buy. Currently, you can purchase horse stall Matt Grippers or horse stall mat coasters,
Starting point is 02:01:14 drinks, spotter likes, drinks, spot are classics. I just about list. Banners, maybe. Yeah, flags. Flags are good, actually. Just got to restock up several flags today. So flags and banners are actually sitting pretty good. Apparel, if you want something actually be on the lookout on our drop,
Starting point is 02:01:31 because you almost can't get anything. There's a couple things. There's a couple things that we left on sale, too, that just have like one or two items. So if you happen to be just the right size, which is probably either 5x, 4x, 3x, extra small, small, or maybe a few in between there, you can check it.
Starting point is 02:01:50 but more inventory coming very soon, hopefully. Jim Radar, all that stuff. Tommy, where do they find you at? You can find me at Tomahawk underscore D. You can follow me at Tanner underscore Bear. Just make sure to follow Massonomics at Massonomics. See you.
