Hey guys, this is Timothy, and I'm publishing a book.
Now, this may not be new news to all of you,
but I bring it up because it's temporarily changing some things here on the show.
We're going to be running a series of reprise episodes for the next few weeks
due to my need to focus exclusively on this writing project.
The book is going to cover absolutely everything about language hacking
that I've learned from years of working directly with fluency coaching students and native speaking coaches to see what truly works and gets amazing results.
It's going to be a high-end book with the hardcover copy priced at around $40, and that's if I can keep it as short as I'd like to keep it.
But as podcast listeners, you can actually get a free digital copy of the book if you sign up early.
Just go to Spanishin1month.com, and you'll be on the early bird list to get access to the book the day that it's released.
Meanwhile, for now, enjoy this rerun of one of my favorite episodes from the last few months.
Welcome to Master of Memory. I'm Timothy, and I'm here to answer your accelerated learning questions every day and to inspire and
empower you to learn anything you want to learn faster than ever. Sadat sent me a question in an
email. Sadat says, I recently subscribed to your site, and I'm so glad that I did. My query is regarding
using the memory palace technique to master the topics of various technical certifications.
I'm talking about certifications like Comsha Network Plus, A Plus, Cloud Plus, and so on.
I'm also interested in getting other more difficult technical certifications like CCNA,
CCNP, and so on.
Typically, these courses have well-defined topics as part of the certification syllabus,
so I think I can use the memory palace technique easily to memorize the topics.
There are guidebooks available for these certifications,
and they typically follow the exam topics religiously.
I feel that I can use one of the guidebooks and then use the memory palace technique to memorize all the topics and subtopics given in the book. Please let me know how I can use the memory palace technique for certification exams. So Sadat, the first thing that I would say
to do is just pick one and focus on that first. Pick a certification exam that you'd like to learn
first and focus on that. It's best to focus on things one at a time.
So just pick one and apply the rest of this to that. The best thing that you can do second
is to take that exam and email me an outline of all the topics in the exam. So email that to me
so I can give you really specific advice for that specific exam that you're working on.
Third, together you and I are going to plan an outline for a memory exam that you're working on. Third, together you and
I are going to plan an outline for a memory palace that you can use to organize and store all of the
information. So we'll take those topics, we'll see how big each one is and how much room we need for
each one in your memory palace, and then we'll plan the outline based on that. Fourth, we'll start
encoding the information so you can memorize it quickly.
We'll turn numbers into memorable images. We'll turn topics into funny stories and so on so that
all the information just falls into place. In the end, you'll essentially have the guidebook
in your head and it'll be very vivid. You can find anything that you want. You'll know not just
all the general topics very well, but all the important information within each topic.
But the thing is, you just have to reach out to me and make it happen,
and we'll collaborate on that.
So those are the steps that I would follow.
Just, you know, pick an exam, sort the things out like a memory palace,
and then encode the information in those palaces.
Anybody can follow that.
But if you want to have some guidance from me,
just go ahead and send me an email,
timothyatmasterofmemory.com
or you can just go to masterofmemory.com
and the signup is right there.
You'll get access to me and we'll collaborate on it.
For anyone who's listening, what do you want to learn?
