Alright, so when we ended our last session, you all were driving off with your stolen car full of stolen guns in the direction of Cornucopia House.
It is now roughly between nine and 10 p.m.
based on when you all rendezvoused and decided to head out to
break into the pawn shop that you eventually identified
and successfully gain access. Some of you are wounded,
if not at least a little scratched up by various odd encounters with animals.
Dr. Karen is probably the worst off, having been in a major car accident.
But what are we doing?
Well, we've got the weapons, so we need to sort of distribute them.
I am going to claim the light pistol, given the fact that I only have a 20 in firearms
and am also walking around with a cane.
And I, you know, I'm a priest, I don't really do this kind of thing.
Yeah, Bear does this kind of thing. So. Yeah, Bear Bear does this kind of thing. So Bear's going to take the heavy rifle.
But if we get into close combat, since we've got one extra,
we've got an extra gun, Bear will also take the shotgun.
One of the shotguns.
Aliyah is going to take the other shotgun just because she has some experience with it.
And also she may be able to keep people
from getting into the area of effect of the fire because it is not just a single like point and
shoot it's like a scatter gun sort of.
Yep you got a pretty decent spread on that and you got I believe it's a plus 20 percent at all
ranges based on the spread of the ballots.
Bobby much like Father Alvarado, is not trained in firearms.
He's only got a 20 percent and he's also quite a panicky fellow.
So it was kind of decided by the group and mostly by him that he probably wouldn't be
in our best interest for him to have a firearm.
So he is going to take a baseball bat and no guns.
Yep. And then Sarah is going to, she's getting in the car holding the medium pistol.
She's going to run her hand along the engraving of ring only death.
And that's going to be her mantra for the night, I guess.
And yeah, she'll keep the medium pistol.
I do have a question for Doug still, because you have both a shotgun and the long gun.
Did we determine
which of us was going to take the vest?
It's you, right?
Yeah, Bear has a Kevlar vest from his work that he probably won't be traceable back to us. So but if Bear has a long rifle, it would make sense to give Bobby the vest.
Okay. So the weapon's distributed. What's going through everyone's minds?
Father Alvarado is silent. He, you'll notice that he has his cane propped up in one hand, but he has his rosary in the
other and he has been silently to himself in his head reciting some prayers, not just
for him but for everybody in the car, as well as the children who were hopefully about to be able to save tonight. And he's trying to put aside
the waves of doubt that he has in himself and try to keep himself steely and stoic for the
confrontation to come. I feel like for Bobby this is the first time in a very long time he's allowed himself to get into a position where he's this out of his element.
Like his life is very sort of like set. He's good with computers. He knows how to do that.
And that's kind of where he's the most comfortable. And so a lot of his life usually revolves around that.
He's not super comfortable with violence, not super comfortable being around people he doesn't know for that long of a period
of time. He's afraid of strangers, so like this whole thing is very very
unusual for him and I feel like his natural inclination to go back to what
is comfortable to him kind of keeps running up against that sort of like
propulsion that we got from reading those files, the like imagery in the files and the description of the things that are happening that are kind of like pushing us to want to do this.
And he keeps kind of like battling up against that. So he feels like he wants to run and then he remembers some of those images or something like that comes up and he steals himself again to the best of his ability.
steals himself again to the best of his ability.
Bear is being a, as big a guy as he is and a state trooper, he gets asked, you know, to come along on, you know,
raids like this from time to time.
So he's used to that, but I think you see him
kind of trying to like psych himself up, like, you know,
get his adrenaline going
and get ready for this and he does that you know, by saying to the other people, you know,
things like, we're gonna get those guys right, come on, let's go.
And I doubt that anybody responds to that. So I think it probably comes off as just nervous chatter instead.
Yeah, I think for Agent Hart, who I think is driving since he's the one who stole the
car, she's pretty quiet, pretty contemplative and introspective right now on a variety of
things.
Of course, what they're about to go in and do,
not her first rodeo, but it's still,
every case is very unique with Delta Green
and the images that she had seen in that folder
and the instructions that she got.
And then coming across the gun with that inscription
kind of feels weirdly cosmic to her.
But then also I think the gravity of bringing four friendlies into this mess, into this
world, we're going to be entering, you know, the point of no return and just the responsibility
she has in making sure that they get through that as intact as possible physically and
mentally is definitely something that's going through her brain right now as well.
How about Dr.
Karen?
She's doing that new resident thing where she's going over all of the steps to firing and basically taking care of her gun
because that's the only thing she can do with her hands right now.
She is prepared, but not necessarily
mentally for what she's going to have to do. She's trained for it, but not specifically to
actually take lives. She's technically sworn to oath to do just the opposite, and now she's going
to have to break it. So she is kind of feeling a sinking dread at the pit of her stomach. I don't know what this night is going to turn out to be.
All right. Perfect.
So what is our approach?
We have been provided with a map of at least a general area of
Cornucopia House, where it lies in the middle of that forest at the
intersection of Biggs Highway, County Road 274 and Carruthers Road with New Elk Road to the
east. What is our what is our approach?
Unless anyone objects, I think Agent Heart's plan is to drive a
little ways down the road and then either pull off or if
there is like a clearing big enough to just kind of put the car down a little bit in the woods so it's out of the way.
And then hike up to the main compound so we can get a better idea of what the lay of the land is, what we're dealing with and that kind of stuff.
OK. How much ammo do we have?
I will say take take whatever the ammunition capacity of your given weapon is and times it by two
How long is this little like drive in total?
I just want to make sure like if it was gonna feel like an arduous hike in if we didn't go that far in or
something
So eyeball in it from the from the map scale
It looks like we're under 500 meters where we parked to the buildings.
So half a kilometer. That's not bad. Yeah, we can walk that.
It's like 2.2 kilometers to a mile. Like we don't really have very far to go at all.
A half a kilometer is a very short distance. Yeah, it's like a quarter mile.
Yeah, something like that. Oh, one other thing. Were we going to just stop and pick up like a five gallon container of gas on the way?
Is that something we want to do?
I'm a little bit wary of like purchasing a five gallon thing.
They may have gas on the farm.
Yeah, they probably have that too, but. Just because like, I think a car full of like five
very nervous people buying a gallon of gas
and then there's like a huge fire a few hours later.
Yeah.
That is like, it may not be something
that someone would think of, but it is a connection.
There is a connection there or could be potentially.
Speaking of preparation, I'm assuming we all changed our clothes before we went out.
Yes.
Okay.
Clothes, masks, gloves.
Excellent.
So, Aideen Daphne, what is your, where are you kind of pulling the car and where are you parking?
Yeah, so planning on going up about maybe halfway up the drive,
then trying to look for a spot that I could potentially even pull the car off the road,
like into the forest a little bit.
OK. And I want to take a moment as well, just to make sure that I don't get
the feeling or sense that anyone is like nearby.
They might have guards out in the woods or there's like cameras anywhere,
anything like that. So a brief, like reconnaissance as well once we're
parked.
Sure. Yeah, go ahead and make an alertness rule for me.
26 out of 80.
Beautiful. Yeah. You're more than able to find a spot little
little under halfway up the drive where you can kind of pull
off turn the lights off and you know, have it off the main the
main route. As for whether or not you see anybody,
as you step out of the car
and take stock of your surroundings,
the quiet around you,
the sounds of whatever life is still in this
February forest surrounding you,
you don't get the impression that there's anybody nearby,
anybody watching you, anybody observing you.
You certainly don't hear any, you know, crunches underfoot of, you know, branches or,
or snow or anything like that. Any sounds of wildlife, actually, while we're at it?
Well, it is winter, technically. There is still some snow on the ground.
So not much. But that with the season that's expected, that's not like a weird thing.
Right, right. Okay.
So what do y'all do?
We get out of the car and I guess we start walking.
Okay. So as you all walk through the forest, through these woods, it is slow going because A, it's dark. And thankfully there's not much foliage to block out the moonlight.
But it's still difficult
navigating the terrain.
Some of you trip and fall and almost break your necks a couple times, but thankfully
you're able to make it through.
No harm, no foul, none the worse for wear.
But as you get closer, you can see lights, the lights of this compound for lack of a
better term. And you're eventually able to make out from the tree line four buildings, a cottage,
what looks to be a main house, some kind of shed and a barn.
You don't hear any sounds right off the bat, but you do see that there are lights still on inside.
Are the lights on in all the buildings or only a couple of them?
It looks like all of them.
Okay.
And we're coming up the path.
We're not coming up the path, right?
We're coming up like through the woods themselves.
Right.
Yeah.
Looking at the map, you tell me what direction you think you'd like to advance from.
You could either, I would say, based on where you parked the car and where you started walking,
you could do it on either sides of that main road.
So either to the from the west or from the north.
I think if we're getting closer and we see that barn, it might not be a bad idea to use that for some kind of cover or some, you know.
Yeah, I was thinking of going there first, too.
Yeah, so kind of come out through the west and then kind of skate along the tree line to get to the barn.
Okay.
I'm going to ask a bit of an uncomfortable question.
Sure.
For those who saw the material, can you guesstimate where it took place?
That's a good question.
They could not.
Okay.
Was it outside, like generic outside, or was it in a building?
We might recognize it later.
The images that you viewed were focused on the violence.
Gotcha.
Okay.
And on the acts being committed.
You can tell that they were likely inside, but nothing that looks familiar right off
the bat.
Okay.
Okay.
And it was a number of incidences, not one singular incident.
Correct. Tough to tell.
Different children. Gotcha.
All right. Then I think, yeah, losing the barn as cover would be good to like, try to make our approach,
especially if they may have guard animals.
All right. As you all begin making your way towards the barn,
you become aware of the sounds of footsteps.
You do see someone walking down through the grounds, making their way towards the barn and eventually inside.
Do we see what they're wearing or how they're presenting? So it looks to be a... Like he's probably in his early 20s, no older than that,
wearing a hoodie, a thick jacket, dirty jeans.
Looks normal.
Seeing this guy, Bear's gonna say almost to himself,
shit, I didn't think about that.
What if, I mean, what if that guy was a kid here and now he's just older? How
do we know?
Well, it would be unfortunate. I feel that his age, unfortunately, puts him in a position
where if he was not protecting those children, he is culpable in what happened to them.
They said all adults, right?
All adults. All adults.
Bobby tightens his grip on his back.
Yeah, fuck that guy.
Sorry, father.
Are we following it to the barn?
Well, I guess, like, if we can sneak up to like a window or something
and try to peek inside, it might not just be him and that might be a good thing to know.
So is Bear the quietest one here?
Yes. Yep.
All right. Should I take the lead?
Yeah, I was going to say, if if anything, I think Father Alvarado is,
you know, obviously hesitant
to be here in the first place, but knowing that you all are wanting to take a more stealthy
approach, he'll actually sort of volunteer to maybe stay behind and sort of, you know,
man the rear if he needs to.
One thing I did fail to mention is that as you all were approaching, and especially now
that you're closer to the compound itself, you hear this, this whirring
sound.
It's odd.
It sounds like some kind of hand dryer or hairdryers, like that, that very electrical
whirring sound.
Is it like, like the buzzing of a generator or?
Maybe.
It's tough to tell.
Do we see any kind of generators around here?
Not immediately in your vicinity around the barn, no.
Okay.
It sounds like it's coming from more towards the eastern side of the compound towards the
opposite wood line.
Oh, it's like in the wood line, not even near the building.
Right.
So away from you all, if you're if you're in the west north kind of area, it's coming from the east towards the opposite wood line away from you.
Interesting.
Do we check that out first?
Do we want to split the party?
No, I don't think so.
Since we're already at the barn, let's at least see if we can like get a look inside to see what we're dealing with.
And then we can decide if we want to deal with that now or should go check out the spooky noises.
Yeah, makes sense. That does make sense. I do think like before we go into the barn,
we should maybe do the wood stuff because it makes sense to me to like do out and then move
in progressively rather than for sure. Yeah, that makes sense. I will stay back with towards the end with
Father Alvarado since Bear has taken the lead.
OK, just to kind of keep an eye on our six to make sure that no one's going to sneak up behind us or
and paying special attention to the weird noises coming from the woods.
So we've got Agent Daphne and we've got father Alvarado remaining behind in the wood line
We where is bear going to the barn? Yeah gonna go to the barn
Are there any visible like windows or doors on this side? There is a window
So I'll give you the opportunity to kind of peek through the window make a stealth role for me
And because of the sound of those whatever that is whatever that sound is
You can take a 10% bonus just that it's gonna mask your you know, the sound of those, whatever that is, whatever that sound is,
you can take a 10% bonus just that it's gonna mask your,
you know, the sounds of your approach probably a little bit.
All right, 46, that's a failure.
Out of 40, that's so close.
Damn.
Unfortunately, as you begin to make your approach
to the barn, you stumble and you reach out a
hand to kind of brace yourself to catch your fall almost instinctively. And it, that big
meaty paw of yours just kind of slaps against the side of the barn. And unless you poke
your head up to see what kind of reaction you've, you've engendered, what do you do?
I think, uh, yeah, I mean, having, having obviously made a noise, I just want to be as still as possible, but I'm turning towards the direction that I think that he might be coming from.
And I've got the rifle in that direction.
What is Dr. Karen and what is Bobby doing at this point? Are you in the wood line as well kind of waiting to see what Bear is able to find?
Yeah, at that point, she's not moving forward because it's just gonna be.
Yeah, I feel the same. I feel like we kind of determined since Bear is the best at sneaking,
he was gonna go up there on his lonesome.
Almost immediately you watch at least those in the wood line Bear from your current position.
It's tough to see until he comes around the corner, but you watch that same young man
come around the corner after having exited the barn, holding what looks to be
some kind of metal cage with a ferret inside.
And as he rounds that corner, he stops dead
and sees you there in the snow, bear,
and opens his mouth to shout.
I am gonna rush forward and I'm going to draw my baton
and try and take him out that way.
OK, because I don't think we don't think we want to start firing shots right now.
It'll get everybody else.
So that's melee weapons, right?
Some friendly advice, if you hit him with the baton,
there's not a chance that you can knock him out if you grapple him
and try to cut off his air supply by putting him in a chokehold, you might have better luck of rendering him unconscious.
OK, yeah, I think there is trained in that anyway.
So, yeah, that's what it'll do.
So that would be on their own combat, right?
Yep. Go ahead and roll an armed combat for me.
That is a four.
Beautiful. Let's he's going to obviously try to resist. So let's go ahead
and see how he does. Granted he's not as skilled as you are. So he rolled a four out of 80 bear.
This individual in sheer panic mode manages to catch you across the head with a elbow as he begins trying to fight.
He rolled a 31 out of 50.
So
he manages to avoid your grapple and inflict one hit point of damage upon you
as he lashes out with those elbows and manages to catch you right
upside the head and begins shouting.
Shouting? Can I respond and stop it? catch you right upside the head and begins shouting. Shit shouting.
Can I can I respond and stop it?
I'd say with that success, you know what? While you don't manage to grapple him and get him into a chokehold.
I will say you manage to get at least your hands over his mouth.
Okay, next round.
I'm going to go for another attempt to to get him into a chokehold, I guess.
Well, let's see what everybody else is doing.
You watch Bear try to tackle this individual, and he manages to not necessarily fight him off.
He collapses under the weight of Bear, and he manages to avoid getting himself into a disadvantaged position
where Bear is able to wrap his arm around his neck.
And instead, he starts to try to scream, to
shout for help, but Bear manages to get a huge hand over his
over his mouth. He's still fighting frantically against
this man. What is everyone doing?
So he didn't manage to yell?
He didn't manage to yell, but he's fighting back.
I feel like this is the only situation in which Bobby feels like he might actually be able to.
Like, he's the person, the right person for this.
OK, and he's going to start sprinting forward to to whack him with the bat.
Yeah, I think I'll also start advancing as well, just in case it goes south and more people come out.
Yeah. OK.
I don't even know if Bobby's actually intending to run for it to hit the guy with the bat,
but he just knows he's big and he's strong and bears is in a physical fight with someone.
So he's he's going over. OK.
He is he has dropped this cage with this fair that is now screaming in the snow.
Bear, you are he is kicking and slapping and scratching
and trying to bite your hand.
It's almost animalistic in the level of resistance.
Bobby, you approach and for all intents and purposes,
we'll treat him as pinned.
So go ahead and make a roll to see if you manage it.
If you are trying to brain him with your baseball bat,
go ahead and make a roll.
Yeah, so I think like he doesn't, in his brain he's not thinking, I'm going to run over there and hit this guy with the baseball bat.
He's just thinking, Bear needs some help. I'm a big dude. I'm going to run over there.
But when he gets close enough and he looks at this kid's face, the images that he was shown from the folder start to like flash
through his mind again. And before he even really knows what he's doing, I think he's
gonna raise the baseball bat and bring it down as hard as his big beefy body can do
it.
Okay.
Oh, God. No.
That's a 77 for a fumble. God damn it.
Bobby, you you move forward to try to hit him and you end up cracking bear across the back.
Make a damage roll.
That's a good one.
Sweet. Nice.
It glances off of his shoulder.
off of his shoulder, all of a sudden, this dog comes out of nowhere
and rips into this man's throat.
You don't know where this dog came from.
You don't know where it's been,
if it's been shadowing you this entire time,
if it came from the barn,
but all of a sudden, this animal chomps its teeth
into this individual's throat
and any scream he could have made is
cut off in a gurgle of blood that jets from his mouth.
What's weird is how oddly silent this dog is.
There's no snarling, there's no growling.
It's ripping and tearing, but it's eerily silent about it.
And all of a sudden, this individual goes motionless, goes still as he bleeds out into the
snow. And the dog sits.
Is it the same dog that attacked Bear?
Does not.
Bear is, you know, he's got his arms around this guy and on his on his mouth, he just, as this guy goes limp, he just kind of like kind of lets him down easy and puts him down.
And he's still crouching, but he puts his hands up in front of him towards the dog and says,
All right, good boy.
It's a Rottweiler, from what you can tell.
And there is a collar around its neck. It doesn't appear to be...
I mean, its fur is... it clearly hasn't had a bath in a minute, but it doesn't appear malnourished
or otherwise mistreated. But if you do look, there is a name on the collar that says Mr. Throb.
Mr. Throb. I don't like that.
While that's going on, seeing that the dog doesn't seem to be an immediate threat, I'm listening for any sounds of anyone else who is coming to see what the fuck is that.
Is that ferret still screaming?
It is.
OK, it's in a cage.
It's in a cage.
I just want to get it out of the snow.
So hopefully, I don't know if that's what it's screaming about, but I don't know what
to do about this thing.
It grows silent as you approach and you notice that there is a name tag attached to this
cage and when you look down and assess it, it says Conradon.
Conradon?
Conradon.
However, I will ask you to make an Alertness Rule.
Everybody?
Whoever is listening out to see if you've garnered any attention after that scuffle.
I would actually like to search the body of the young man if the dog is docile right now.
The dog is absolutely docile.
Doc, so close. OK, with an 81 out of 80 for Daphne and an 82 out of 60 for Dr.
Karen, your ears are still ringing from the adrenaline and from the sheer chaos of the moment.
You don't hear anything outright.
Being the dog in a state it's in, I think bears attention is on it, but he's going to reach his hand out and just offer like the back of one of his hands for the dog to sniff.
Yeah, the dog actually lays down, its tongue lolling out of its mouth as it pants happily, briefly sniffs at your hand and then just goes back to watching you all laying next to the body as this this man's lifeblood drains out into the ground and the snow
around it. Father Alvarado, you said he wanted to check his pockets? Yeah, I want to
search the body. Beautiful, yeah. All you really find is a wallet and a cell
phone and the wallet is contains an identification identification with this man's photograph as Alexi Arseni.
I'm going to toss the phone to Bobby, our tech expert. Maybe he can look through the phone,
maybe glean some more information about it. But after that, can I also do an alertness just to
sort of like keep my ears berked? Please do. Yeah.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this is like kind of pre cell phone password days.
It was like they just yeah, just weren't super common back then.
Yeah. So he'll start looking through it.
Ninety seven out of 60.
Yeah, unfortunately, not hearing anything.
We've got one dead body.
We've got a dog and we've got a ferret looking around.
Is there anywhere immediate that we could like kind of shove the body
to hide it?
Yeah, you could drag it to the trees or you could put it in the barn.
But we don't know what's in the barn.
You know, this is true.
Yeah, I worry about dragging it to the trees because it's going to leave like a blood trail.
And I feel like against the stark white snow, that'll be pretty noticeable.
It's pretty dark though, right? Like there's not like, it's not like this place isn't set up with
like floodlights or anything like that. Correct. Correct.
I think we should be okay just hiding in the tree line for now because we are not, this is not going
to be a long thing. We are, we're going to continue going forward. I would even say like,
I mean, like not doing anything with the body doesn't seem like the
smartest thing to do.
But like this is also this isn't like, get in and get out without anybody noticing this
is a get everybody that's here.
So we should kind of be moving forward in a methodical way so that there isn't anyone
kind of coming up behind us.
Not that we can really guarantee that I guess but.
Did Bobby find anything on the phone by the way? Some text messages and phone
calls nothing that stands out. Can I peek inside a window? Yeah absolutely. You peek through the
window and you can see that there is just these massive metal shelves that have been erected in the space.
And it looks like they hold these small metal cages containing just a stupefying
array of pets.
No movement from people that I can see.
No movement from people.
Okay, I'll turn to you others in quietly still still just in case say I don't think there's
anyone else here right now. All right, I think we as we look into the barn, see what's there.
Are you looking through a window or going inside? Through a window. You see the same you see these
these shelves and these cages containing these animals. OK, then she kind of goes around and goes inside.
OK. I'll go with her, so she's not alone.
There's just going to throw the body over his shoulder and follow agent.
Definitely. OK.
You step inside and you can hear and I mean, really, first,
you can smell these animals.
This rack of shelves is really just a two meter tall testament to animal neglect.
There are dogs that are too big for the cages in which they're in.
There's cats with fur that has long since gone to mange, fleas.
Cages are stacked on top of cages so that waste drips down onto the animal below them.
You see rabbits, rats, ferrets, birds, sugar gliders.
There's even a few terrariums containing snakes and turtles.
Two of the three space heaters that were set up around this stack, it looks like they've
completely stopped working.
There's some animals that appear that have killed incompatible creatures placed in cages
next to them.
Others appear to have starved or frozen.
At least a quarter of them are dead.
And each animal's cage has a name tag on it.
Are they making noise?
There's whines.
Yeah, there's barks. There's yeah, there's an assortment of noises.
Yeah.
That's actually almost a good thing, because then maybe the ferret screaming
wasn't, isn't like super, you know, alarming.
Yeah.
I think Leah's just going to back out.
And there's nothing else of note other than the cages and cages of animals, are there?
No, I mean, there do appear to be these two larger, cleaner kennels that look like they were, you know,
if you had to take a guess, maybe for Mr. Throb and another dog.
I'll do a quick, like, walkthrough just to see if anything stands out as being more weird than we've already encountered, just in case.
No, just this staggering display of these neglected animals, some of which are dead
or dying.
Is there a place in here where I could hide the body?
Yeah, it's a big enough barn.
There's a tractor that's parked in a corner with like a litany
of other neglected equipment that you could ostensibly stash them for the time being.
I yeah, but they're just going to walk over there and throw the body behind the tractor.
And you are now covered in blood.
Yeah.
There looks over at Bobby says, Bobby,
you think you can call one of the people and have them
have them come out here?
I don't I don't know.
Sorry, you want me to with the phone?
Yeah, I don't know which people on the phone are here and which are people that he has
relationships with outside outside of this place.
I don't.
I mean, if you call somebody who's not here, then they just won't come.
Right.
Well, I'm supposed to say, do you work for the farm that I work at?
And I would know if you, if you worked here or not, is that the first question
I'm supposed to ask them?
I don't.
I don't know.
Tell him, tell him, Hey, there's the, what are the dogs bit me come out to the
barn or something.
And if they say, I don't know what you're talking about,
I don't know what his voice sounds like.
I don't know if he has an accent.
And attempting to impersonate someone
without having studied them first is a bad idea.
Yeah, okay.
Is there anyone in the text messages
that seems to be like the conversation would make
sense for two people that both work here?
I mean without knowing more there's no way to tell.
Some of it may be coded, some of it appears to be drug transactions like buying and selling.
This may be a little bit of a reach, but there was a lady whose name was associated with
a single member LLC that owns
this farm. Is there any text messages with that particular person, that lady?
Yelena Calamitiano? There is not.
Okay, cool. Rad, that was the only line I had.
Perhaps we move on from here. We leave the body here and we check the source of that buzzing sound. Maybe maybe there's
something there that we can I don't know. Maybe that's
generator we can power down and at least draw them out.
Yeah, that's a good idea.
Yeah, is it better to cause a disturbance that draws them out
than to go in? We could start a fire.
Let's go see what at least what the sound is first,
because it might not even be a generator,
it might not be anything they could use, but it might be good to know
what it is before we start setting fire to things.
Probably nuts.
OK, so you are heading to the towards the sound.
Yeah.
So you move past the shed, past the barn, kind of with the shed to your north, you head east towards that wood line. And eventually about halfway towards it, you
eventually find the source of the noise. It seems to be this PVC frame that's lined with
It seems to be this PVC frame that's lined with 10 salon quality hair dryers arranged in such a way as to essentially melt and thaw the ground in a square.
Is there anything on the ground?
Like any markings or anything?
It does appear the ground and other parts has been disturbed.
Looks like freshly dug.
Correct.
And the extension cord for this contraption leads back to the shed.
Father Alvarado will just sort of do the cross on himself and just sort of mutter a quick
prayer for whoever's down there, because I think that as soon as he gets there and
he sees the sort of damp, disturbed earth,
he knows based on what he's seen that this is probably like some kind of mass grave.
To be clear, the like disturbed earth and the earth that's being thawed, that's maybe two different sections or is it the same thing?
Two different sections.
Gotcha, because they're dethawing the earth to dig another grave. Is the size of the grave something that would denote
like multiple bodies and adult children?
Like, can we gather anything from that?
Like, I assume I know the answer, but just to confirm.
With your forensic skill,
yeah, it's definitely the body of a child.
Oh, so it's not like a mass grave?
No.
Oh, okay, so these are like small rectangles.
Yep. Sarah's gonna unplug the extension cord.
What are you doing?
They're not going to dig any graves tonight.
And then like realizing that, like, obviously they might notice.
And like here, she's going to look back at the buildings
and see if there's any immediate movement of people coming out.
It was like something that she did kind of unthinking, just angry.
Sure. Make an alertness roll. Okay.
Bear's gonna look back as well. If he can.
Yeah, whoever wants to roll. Go nuts.
Alright. So, Dr. Karen and Bear, you look around to try to take stock of your surroundings to see if anybody may be approaching.
And you do turn in the direction of the cottage and you do notice that someone appears to be coming down towards the shed dragging a small bundle wrapped in garbage bags behind them.
And it appears that they have stopped and paused at the sudden silence now that the hairdryer contraption has been disconnected.
For you, Agent Daphne, you are so lost in the thought of what this contraption has been
used for, how many times it's been used, and what it was going to be used for tonight.
You lose one sanity with that 99 out of 80.
Turn it back on.
Turn it back on. No, wait, leave it off.
Maybe he'll come to us and we can we can get a jump on him.
Shit. OK, OK, OK.
Is there a place to hide, like behind it or is it that big?
You guys are kind of out in the open.
Yeah. So you can try to you can try to make your way back towards the shed or with your
with your knowledge, Bear, you know, maybe
potentially being out here in the open like this, your best bet may be just to drop prone.
And so it's freshly dug, but it's not an open pit.
It's a...
It hasn't been dug yet.
There is more, there's more ground nearby that has been disturbed relatively recently.
Definitely not in the same evening, but this patch here is still,
it looks to still be partially frozen,
hence why the hairdryers were kind of focused on it
to try to get the ground thawed so it could be dug.
All right, yeah, so Bear's just gonna try
and get in a depression or low place that he can
and lay still and hope this guy comes close or stays away.
Yeah, seeing Bear do that will kind of shake Agent Hart out of her mind and she'll
immediately drop as well.
OK. Yeah, dropping.
Getting my shotgun ready.
Yeah, Bobby, follow suit.
The second individual, you know, obviously alerted by the sudden silence, picks up his pace and begins dragging this bundle a little faster towards the shed and passes the main house
on his left and eventually just drops the bundle by the shed and begins walking towards
you all.
So he doesn't have to make a stealth roll.
I guess that's me?
Yep.
Okay.
Oh, there you go. A nine.
All right.
With nine out of 30.
What I will say, he doesn't see you currently.
As he gets closer, he is going to see you because you are not camouflaged and you are
out in the open.
So if you wanted to attack, you would have the surprise and you would have the relevant
bonuses to go with it.
But if he sees you, which he most certainly will as he gets closer,
just something to keep in mind.
Yeah, I think Bear just out of instinct, sort of realizing that he's going to see us
and it's better to get the drop on him.
Bear's just going to rush forward and attempt to tackle him and get him in a chokehold again.
I will say you are not close enough.
He's gonna be able to turn and run.
I mean, can I wait until he gets closer or you think he's gonna?
You are out in the open.
Yeah.
This might be the time where we-
Can't you just a call shot to the head?
Yeah, we start shooting and hoping for the best.
I don't have the pistol.
I can only do a spray.
How far away is he?
I'd say he's within 75 meters.
So the shotgun could ostensibly hit him
and the heavy rifle could definitely hit him,
but I believe it would be outside the range
of the medium pistol or the light pistol.
I think he's getting closer.
If Bear, if he's that far away
and Bear thinks he's going to see us before he
gets here, I guess Bear looks
at Daphne and says,
Shoot him.
She gives a quick nod.
Bear is going to take a shot.
A called shot is what penalty?
So already, because this is a surprise
attack, the target is active, but
unaware and combat has not yet begun.
You would have a plus 20 percent
and any success is a critical hit. However, this is a called shot. So for a head, it would be at a
negative 40 percent. So really you would have a negative 20 percent to the shot and you would
still do the critical damage. But if I did a called shot to the head, if I hit him he'd be dead or?
He would be. Yeah, he would be dead.
You know what? Yeah, I'm just going to go with the shot.
I'd rather hit him because I mean, I'm I'm doing a lot of damage anyway.
You are. You're not going for the head.
You're just going to go straight for first center.
Yes. Yep. OK.
So that that's a 96.
So, yeah, it's it's a 96. But with, it's a 96, but with the 20% modifier,
since it's a surprise, it's a 76 under 80.
And because you have the surprise,
it is going to be, it's critical damage.
So roll your damage and then just multiply by two.
Alrighty.
Oh, that's a four?
Fuck. So eight. Alrighty. Oh, that's a four. Fuck.
So eight.
Yep.
And my Lethality of 10, I didn't come in anywhere near that.
Yeah, the shot catches him in the chest and knocks him off of his feet.
He falls to the ground and I mean, he is not in good shape.
He is.
He's still conscious, he's still aware, but he has been shocked by this sudden gunshot that now roars like thunder throughout this entire clearing, this entire area.
This is a very heavy rifle firing a very heavy bullet that goes really really fast and it drops him, but you can already tell he's still moving and still able to get to his feet.
Maybe you clipped his collarbone.
Maybe you hit his shoulder.
Maybe you hit some part of his body that didn't take him out of the fight completely.
But regardless, he's he's he's still moving.
So Brett, you're Bobby, you are next up in Dex order.
What do you do?
Bobby's time to shine.
If I have the ability to, like if we're close enough to,
he's going to sprint forward as quickly as he can
and try and whap him.
I say with your turn, you're gonna be able to close
the distance and get up on him,
but you're not gonna be able to attack just yet.
Okay, that might not be the best.
If it's so far that I think that I can't get up to him before he'll be able to do something,
then staying far back.
Oh, but he's also prone, so that would make him really hard to shoot.
Yeah, Bobby's going to run up to him.
I'm very un-Bobby-like.
He looks terrified to anybody that sees this fence, but he is running forward.
OK.
Adie Daphne, you're next up. What do you do?
I'm also going to hop up and move forward. Can I get within 15 meters of him? And so that I could
also shoot in this turn. He'd still be pretty far away. Yeah. I don't think with like the visibility
and then Bobby being right up there. So I'll just use my turn to get up to at least within 15 meters.
Next up is going to be Dr. Karen.
Yeah, I think her only thing she's gonna also dash forward basically. That's all she can do.
Get as close as she can. Um, but also leaving some space for everyone else to shoot if they can.
Okay. And Father Alvarado.
He is going to do his best to get up to his feet, kind of hoisting himself up with a cane.
But I would like to, because I'm not going to catch up with him, but I would like to,
I don't know if it's search or alertness, but like keep an eye out and see where any
more activity might be coming from.
Okay, go ahead and make an alertness roll.
54 out of 60.
You hear what sounds like a screen door slamming shut, and it looks like somebody has stepped
out of the main house.
Brace yourself, there's someone coming out of the main house.
Bear, you're back up.
Alright, well, did he go?
His dex is 12, so he goes after you.
Oh, oh, I get it, I get the drop and I get oh, cool.
OK, then I'm going to take another shot.
I'm going to move forward three meters and take another shot.
Go for it. All right.
At a minus 20, right?
He's thrown out of negative 20. Yep. All right.
That's 34.
Go ahead and roll your damage. OK.
10. Yeah. You fucking and roll your damage. OK, 10.
Yeah, you fucking crater his head.
The bullet enters just under his chin and canoes his skull and he is motionless.
I feel like Bobby raising his bat to take a swing or is raising his bat to take a swing and just kind of approaches the body as that shot rings out.
And he makes a sort of a like animal yelping sound and scurries backwards slips and falls
onto his backside.
Are we still in combat because that other person has stepped out?
You are not.
Does that rifle have a scope though?
Can it see?
It does.
Yeah, there's going to there's going to train the rifle towards the house.
Did I hear the screen door, too, or that was just.
No, you're practically deafened by the report from this rifle.
I did shut out, though, that something was coming from the house.
So I would just look towards the house and see if I can.
Yeah, you see what appears to be a woman on the porch looking out in the direction of the shed, and you hear her
calling for Ryan.
Since we're out in the open, I'm going to suggest we find some cover near one of the buildings now that people
have definitely heard the gunshots.
Nearest cover is going to be the shed.
And if they heard the gunshots, wouldn't it be better to take a shot at the at the person
who's like available to us now rather than having her go back into the house?
Yeah. Are they at the cottage or at the main house?
The main house. And how far away?
I guess I assumed it was too far away to like immediately start shooting.
And how far away? I guess I assumed it was too far away to like immediately start shooting.
I'd say at since you all were kind of closing the distance towards the shed,
may still be outside the range of pistols, but would definitely be within the range of the shotgun and with the rifle. Okay. Then I'll shoot at the I'll shoot at her if it's whenever it's my turn.
Wait, so she's within range of the shotgun.
Yeah, so with a shot with the shot, its damage is two to eight.
It gets halved outside its base range, which is 75 meters.
OK, cool. Thank you for the clarification. Yep.
Bear is still confused as what to do, but when he hears
when he hears her shoot, he will follow up as well.
Yeah, both of you can can go ahead and roll your attack rolls.
Okay, 56 out of 60 for Dr.
Karen, go ahead and roll your damage.
Two. Two. Okay.
That's a 95. Geez.
Unfortunately, with that 95 out of 80, the shot goes way right.
There is not much time for you to take aim and focus on her.
For you, Dr. Karen, one or several of the pellets, it's impossible
to tell how many it appears they've they've struck her.
She flinches underneath the gunfire and darts back inside the house.
Get ready. There might be more coming in.
Yeah, I'm going to start running to get cover behind the shed
and motion for them to follow me so that we're not all out in the open anymore.
OK. Yeah, I'll follow.
Yeah, he's going to scramble to his feet and follow after Agent Hart or Daphne. Sorry.
As we're approaching the shed, I also want to just keep an eye out
if there's people in there that we're like about to walk up on.
I am going to go and cut towards the barn.
Towards the barn?
Yes.
Okay.
I have a theory, but I'll wait till you guys go to the shed.
But I my thinking here is that if the dog helped us, then perhaps if I release all of the animals, it will at least, if, you know, best case scenario,
they go, you know, apeshit and they attack the other cultists.
Worst case, they just run around the woods
and maybe kill me, I don't know.
But hoping that going here
will maybe yield something interesting.
As as Bear approaches the shed, he's going to be looking to see if there's like
a ladder or something that so that he could get on top of the shed so that he would have a better vantage point for shooting.
OK, fair enough. Yeah.
With with the shed, the first thing you notice is it's this windowless,
prefabricated shed facing the house. There's lawn maintenance equipment. There's what appears to be
a weight bench with a barbell and dumbbells. It looks to be there's wheelbarrow with shovels
and quicklime. And of course the extension cord. There's caustic lye soda, these plastic buckets full of it, gasoline
cans, weed eaters, mowers, and then there's also a workbench holding a JVC JXC7 multicolor editing
processing unit and a CRT monitor. There are two shelves of wood grain VHS drawers, one labeled
blanks and the other ready. Can you explain to me what you mean by processing unit?
Yeah, it's essentially something for it looks like editing videotapes, copying video over
to tapes.
Okay.
And there is a small black ledger on the table, but no ladders.
There is a poorly maintained bolt action 30-06 hunting rifle mounted above the workstation.
Is there any movement in the main house?
Any sign that more people are coming out?
Nope.
Were there any lights on in the main house?
There were.
Have any of them turned? Are they like turning off or are they staying the same?
They're staying the same.
Am I able to get on the roof?
Or? There's no ladders. OK. I mean, you could, but it's barely big enough. Same. Am I able to get on the roof or?
There's no ladders.
Okay.
I mean, you could, but it's barely big enough.
It's not gonna be a really solid, sturdy platform.
So I think Bear is going to go over
and kind of, he's gonna stay outside
and lay down prone on the ground,
kind of a little bit behind the building so that at least he has some cover from...
So like he has some cover from people coming from the West and he's prone.
So he's got an open shot.
Yeah, but presenting a low profile.
OK.
Whatever side of the house bear is going to...
OK. Whatever side of the house bear is going to...
or house, sorry, shed that bear is going to be on,
I think Bobby's going to go to the back of the other end
and try and keep an eye out to make sure that nobody approaches from that way.
He doesn't really have... can't really contribute to the shooting part,
so he's going to try and keep an eye out.
OK. Who's grabbing the rifle?
Leah is.
OK.
So Leah, you're grabbing the rifle and then Father Alvarado, you get to the barn and I'm
assuming you're just opening all these cages?
Yeah, and when he does so, he's sort of like, it's one of those things where like, it's
dead of night, but like, I imagine like his breath is just sort of escaping this plume
of steam and he's just sort of frantically panting and as best as he can, sort of ripping
open cages as quickly as possible.
Yeah, the animals start out and every which way frantically trying to escape, throwing
themselves out of these cages and running off.
As I'm still in here, it's just the cages and the dead body.
There's nothing, there's no like tools, no like pitchforks or.
You can make a search role.
Okay.
54 out of 60.
Yeah, you find maybe a shovel, a pitchfork, dealer's choice.
I'll take a pitchfork.
Okay.
It is going to be tough to handle it with a cane in the other hand.
I'm sort of just like tucking my cane under the like one of my arms and using the pitchfork
is sort of like, you know, an impromptu cane.
OK, got it.
If it seems like no one is coming out,
seeing that everyone else is kind of getting in place,
I want to start making my way up to the main house.
And then if anyone does come out and like it looks like they're about to shoot me, I'm going to immediately drop prone.
Okay.
Yeah, if I'm coming out of the barn, I think I'd probably want to.
Because the others at the shed, I'll try to get eyes on the west side of the main house.
That's sort of like smaller attachment, I guess.
Yeah, doesn't appear to be anybody coming out that side. of the main house that's sort of like smaller attachment, I guess.
Yeah, doesn't appear to be anybody coming out that side. But looking at the main house itself, it's a small single level ranch house. It looks like there's the expansion on that side is
relatively new. There is a porch light and a security light illuminating both the parking
lot and the front door all night. The front door currently stands open. It appears that's where that woman came out and then immediately
darted back inside after getting shot. There is only one window in this other wing of the house
that faces south and there's a heavy metal security door with a worn path between it and the cottage.
But other than that main entrance in and that porch,
there's, it doesn't look like there's appears to be any other way inside and nobody's coming out.
What's on the what's this little attachment on the west side? Is that the porch or is that like a
garage or? So the the main house kind of has two sections. Overall, it's this small single level
ranch house. It does not appear to have a garage. There are three cars in the gravel parking lot outside of it. There
is a newer kind of like barracks looking like construction that is on the east side of the
building. It's a little bit bigger. There are no windows visible from the front of the
house. It looks like the living room and the kitchen windows are obscured by blackout curtains
and there are windows to another room visible from the backyard but they've imported shut from what it looks like. There's a porch light and a security light illuminating both the parking
lot, the cars in it, and the front door. As for that newer wing of the building, the one facing
south towards U-wall, it looks like there's this heavy metal security door that has a worn path
between it and the cottage.
But then there's just the main porch where you saw that woman step out of and then immediately go back
inside. And that door is still standing open. Just because I'm outside, as I'm coming up to
the house and seeing the cars and the gravel driveway, he's muttering to himself over and over,
probably like a passage from Psalms or something like that.
And he's gonna start poking the wheels,
trying to sort of like deflate the tires,
just in case they would like try to escape at all.
Sure, yeah, you're easily able to deflate the tires
with that pitchfork.
For you, Aiden Daphne, as you step up onto the porch,
make a luck roll for me.
A luck roll?
Yeah.
20.
Yeah, as you step up onto the porch,
you lose your footing just a bit,
just as there is this loud explosion
and shotgun pellets shatter the wall
immediately in front of you and pass over your head, and shotgun pellets shatter the wall
immediately in front of you and pass over your head, followed by immediately another report
and even more pellets being fired in your direction,
barely missing you.
They're coming from inside the house?
From inside the house.
Okay.
Are they shooting through the wall?
Yes.
Yeah, they have enough strong enough to do that.
I think Leah follows and tries to do covering fire
for Daphne as she can.
Okay, are you firing blindly into the house?
Yeah.
Okay, make a firearms roll.
93, God damn.
Yeah, you fired blindly.
There's no telling if you've hit anybody
and hopefully you haven't hit any children
Yeah, I think there there is also gonna fire
He's I'm gonna try and try and fire from where I assume if they shot through the wall
We can see like some light there. I'm just gonna shoot for the hole
Okay, that's a critical 33
Okay, go ahead and roll your damage.
That is a 14, but it's armored pricks in a five.
So it probably goes through that wall, right?
It goes through the wall,
whether or not you hit anyone or anything
or even your intended target remains to be seen.
I mean, my biggest intention was just to make them duck
so they don't shoot Daphne.
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, I'll say she's like dropping and like army crawling
to get some, get out of the way.
Are Daphne and Bear, are they at the south
between the shed and the house?
Yeah, I think, I think Bear,
you're taking cover behind the shed, right?
Firing into the house and then, and then Daphne,
you're kind of in that no man's land in between the shed and
the main house.
Yeah. Okay.
Okay. So if I'm over in the driveway on the other side of
the house, are there windows on this other side of the house?
None that you can see.
Fuck.
None that haven't been boarded up or covered.
Yeah. I was tempted to try and smash through with my pitchfork,
but no, I'm not there. I'm not.
I'm not him. And there's there's no so the windows have been boarded up.
There's no other entrances.
All the all the entrances are on the other side of the house. Correct.
OK, OK. Right.
Are they continuing to shoot at us?
No. I think Bobby's maybe just going gonna wait to see what everybody else does.
But he's like down and ready to run.
Okay.
So if there's nothing else going on,
Barry's gonna just attempt to search
to see if there's any activity,
anything he can detect in the house,
coming from the house.
You hear music, like playing through what sounds like speakers and you hear what might be
an occasional sob or cry kind of music.
Classical Russian.
Since I'm a little bit closer and that door was left open and now there's some holes, do I see any movement
in the main house?
How close are you getting to try to see?
I think I'm like partway between them.
My goal is for her to like crawl so she has an angle
so she can see like in the door,
just to see if there's any more people moving around,
but not necessarily getting closer, just changing her angle.
So changing your angle,
you can see what appears
to be some kind of like maybe family room.
There's like a burgundy shag carpet and wood paneling walls.
Maybe a bookcase and it appears there's like an armchair,
the single piece of furniture that's been tipped over.
But no like movement, no people?
No.
Okay.
After waiting for like a few beats, if there's no indication that there are
other people, I'm going to maybe still crawling just in case.
So they don't want my head to be blown off by a shotgun.
Start making my way towards the house.
OK. If I see Daphne crawling towards the house, I'm just going to take another shot
through the same hole that I shot last time.
OK, yeah, I won't even make a roll.
I mean, that's you're easily able to shoot into the wall.
Yeah, just trying to provide cover.
Yep.
Leo will follow Daphne into the or Sarah into the house or the way she's going.
OK.
I think Bobby will kind of get seeing both of them go.
Bobby will get down onto his tummy and start to crawl,
but he's probably not crawling very quickly at all.
Yeah, I mean, if I can get up to the door with no problem,
I'll have my pistol drawn and do the tactical thing
where like I clear the room.
Yeah, as soon as you break that threshold,
there's all of a sudden a report
of that double-barreled shotgun once again,
only it appears to be firing blindly
from the other side of that armchair.
And it misses you, thankfully, with a 48 out of 40.
But she has clearly taken cover by that armchair
and blindly firing towards you.
Well, we know where to shoot now.
Yeah, I mean, I'll, is she the only person
I can't see anyone else in here?
You can't see anybody else currently, no.
Currently, okay.
Yeah, I don't know if I could use like three meter,
one way or the other to get a better shot of her
from hiding behind there, but I'll take it and shoot.
Okay, yep, you're pretty much point blank at this point.
You see a woman who's probably in her mid-20s
in a dingy bathrobe with this double-barreled shotgun clenched in her hands and this wild,
animalistic look in her eyes. Go ahead and roll. It'll be a plus 20% since it's fucking point blank, pretty much.
Okay, good.
That's technically a 44.
That's a 44. Yeah, it's a critical success. You pull the trigger and you put a bullet right through her left eye and she immediately just
drops and the shotgun tumbles out of her grasp and you see the pink mist and the bits of bone
fly out the back of her skull.
You have brought only death.
Yeah, then quickly like turning and clearing the rest of the immediate room, just in case
there's anyone else that's going to take a shot.
Yeah, there is a television on and it is playing what appears to be some kind of figure skating
qualifier.
Like from the current year or like from years ago? Probably from the 90s, if you had to guess.
And that is attached to a VCR.
If there's no one else in here, I'll wave outside to give the signal that I'm OK and that they can come.
Well, there is a door into that leads into a kitchen.
OK, should probably deal with that first then.
Yeah, we should probably deal with that first then. Yeah, we'll follow, though.
As Daphne is doing that, I'm going to start huffing it over to the...
Huffing it, rather, over to the cottage.
OK. Yeah, Bear's going to run forward to the porch or to the to the door.
Of the of the main house. Yeah.
Got it. OK.
Probably we'll get up and follow there.
OK. What you see, Daphne, is this filthy, disgusting kitchen.
There's this cracked linoleum floor.
There's grimy counters, rusted taps.
There's stained and poorly washed dishes, just piled haphazardly
every which way.
And the floor is barely visible from all the mattresses covering it.
And there's children ranging in age from 3 to 12 huddled in this kitchen staring up
at you.
There has to be close to 19.
Oh shit.
Once I realize it's just kids, I lower my weapon.
Is there just a kitchen or is there somewhere else?
It's almost a single floor.
There is, there are other rooms.
They're all there in the in the kitchen?
Yep.
Yeah, so like lowering my weapon and kind of like putting my hands up in front of me.
We're not going to hurt you, we're here to help you.
Are there any other adults in the house?
You don't receive a response.
I kind of look back at the others and then to the kids
and just tell them to stay in here, do not come out.
What are you doing, Father Alvarado?
Like I said, I'm hoofing it over to the cottage.
Okay, you reach it. It's odd. It's one story. And it looks
almost like a traditional Russian cottage, almost from a
storybook. These ornate casements are shimmering with
almost like a warm, inviting firelight.
The only remotely mundane part of it is this cheap looking enclosed porch that's tacked
onto the front door. There's cheap windows, there's metal folding chairs, a space heater,
a cheap TV stand that holds ashtrays from the looks of it.
Yeah, it'll go inside if it's unlocked and, you know, if there's no noise.
And yeah, I'd just like to do like a quick search to see like what this might have been used for.
Are you going inside the cottage?
I'm going to first like pay attention to make sure there's no noises or movement going on.
And if I don't hear or see anything, then I'll go inside.
OK, go and make a power times five test for me.
Oh God.
39 up to 60?
Perfect.
You open the door into this small,
open concept living room and kitchen.
It's a far cry from what the rest of the team
is dealing with inside that main house right now.
It's almost idyllic. It's well maintained. There's antiques. It's almost tasteful.
There's a U-shaped arrangement of matching love seats facing where this old grandmotherly woman sits
with this cup of steaming tea sitting on the adjacent end table.
It appears clean and well-organized. You can smell gingerbread.
The walls are covered in crosses and painted with these ornate illustrated scenes and this Russian Orthodox style.
And this kindly grandmother, wrapped in the shawl,
appears to be startled.
I'm shooting as soon as she starts to open her mouth.
Go ahead and roll firearms.
93 out of 20.
With a 93 out of 20, the shot.
I think if you don't mind me taking the,
I think that it's, like, he's obviously not trained for this, but he's also so taken aback by how I deal with everything looks.
So I think that there's a part of him that doesn't want to shoot her, that wants to talk with her and see what what's happening.
And so I think he while he's he is thinking he's like aiming for her face, I think he's unconsciously sort of like his grip is maybe a little bit too loose and so it fires off it maybe like
smashes like a commemorative plate behind her or something yeah she shouts
and jumps no that's uncalled for darling please the gun down come and sit
have tea what is going on, don't talk to her, man.
You want answers? I can provide those, but...
Sith, please.
I would prefer to stand, if you don't mind.
Would you like some tea?
No, but thank you.
Please just tell me what's happening here.
She begins to speak.
That's not any language you understand.
Roll 1d20 for me.
10.
You take that much damage.
As she speaks these words and you immediately begin to scream in pain.
I only had nine hit points.
You're dead.
What the fuck?
You fall to the ground, clutching your genitals that have withered off.
And this corruption, this pain, this agony spreading through your body.
And you drop.
As this old woman is starting to recite this language, as I assume it sounds like Slavic or Russian or something like that.
Yeah.
She starts to recite it almost as if like the rest of the room,
the sound starts to fall away.
He can't hear the gunfire that was just happening
and the crackling of the fireplace sort of
falls away as well and he is just sort of like there's a moment where it's
almost like peaceful and placid until finally there's a sudden sharp pain that
trails from his groin all the way up to his heart and to his brain and he
can feel it starting to tear and shrink
almost like dried skin that's too dried and forcing itself to move.
It's agony, it's excruciating pain, but he buckles, his cane falls out from under him
as well as the pitchfork that he was wielding. And he kind of rolls over onto his back writhing.
It's like, it's one of those pains that's too painful
to even scream out or cry out.
And he just, I imagine he just stares up at the ceiling
trying to call out to God, but instead he just sort of
sees the face of this old woman looming over him.
This illusion falls away, and you see the truth of what was before you. You see this room and it's,
it smells no longer of gingerbread, but like a slaughterhouse, like rotten meat. The furniture
is stained so badly that the only true way to dispose
of it would be to burn it. The murals on the wall are profane, sadistic images. The crosses
are all upside down and this woman wears nothing but asymmetrical, tumorous utters, line her body, dripping this black
icker, this filth, this corruption. And she looks down at you with stained teeth and says,
you should have drank the tea.
I think it's a good place to end tonight's session.
You should have drank the tea. I think it's a good place to end tonight's session.
Oh my God.
Oh man.
Like I knew it wasn't gonna be good,
but I didn't think it was gonna be that.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
Sorry, Jack.
No, don't be, don't be.
I'm into it.
What a way to go.
